is perhaps one of the most spectacular scenes in the prequels could be the
Battle of Coruscant in Revenge of the Sith. One might even argue the best of all
the films as far as an opening sequence goes. One of the most sought after
releases in the wave is more than likely going to be the Firespeeder Pilot. For
the fans that were not quite sure exactly who he is, they nicely supplied us all
with a brilliant reminder of exactly where we saw them, one ship to the left and
right of what was left of General Grievous' ship, that was being flown in by a
rather determined Anakin Skywalker. I really love the way the bright package
just jumps right out at you vs. some of the darker, less busy card
backgrounds. |

further inspection you'll quickly notice how much the rolling articulation
stands out in the elbows. It really didn't work with this particular color, as
shown in the photo you can see how easy the rolling feature creates the opportunity
for the arms to fall off as well as making very noticeable gaps in the light
colored outfit. I do really appreciate the work put into the proportioning of
the body, it seems to be just puffy enough in the right places for the extra
protection you'd need in battling an intergalactic blaze! Again only seeing the
character for a few seconds from basically the shoulders up does not really help
for the assessment of exactly how accurate the out fit is. |

this being said you can only wish they would implement a little bit more detail
in the accessories. Especially something like the extinguisher that they give
you a pretty decent photo of on the card shot, but is one solid color, the same
as the supply hose to the backpack. I think with an increase in price across the
country, this should only be implemented if there is a dedicated increase in
quality. They can go as far to put guide rails for the hose as shown on the
backpack here, but they can't put another color on the gun? How much more could
it be for a little bit of black and gray paint? |
FINAL
THOUGHTS:
 |
Spice -
If they could only be
so kind as to change the ratio around. How about 5 great releases in a
case vs. more repacks and less new product? I understand it's a
business but one that has been in it as long as Hasbro should know
it's figures like this one that make us want to tear through stores
from city to city searching. Big thumbs up and I can only hope to see
more like it. Even if the character only has a few second, from any of
the films, it's better than giving us something we already have! |

It's very
different than other releases. |

We deserve every figure
to be completely new, not just a wave here and there. |

Now
all we need is a Firespeeder! |

Figure out a new
way to do the elbow joints. |
