Spice: I can remember when Star Wars Insider #81 showed off the entire Revenge of the Sith Collection many moons ago. I can recall Troopers who were really looking forward to seeing one of the most ruthless villains from A New Hope. Unfortunately for most die-hard fans not seeing him in action in the film itself was a bit of a let down. How nice it would been to see a younger Grand Moff just learning his vicious side. What we do have is an action figure that many collectors are searching franticly for. For some reason Tarkin along with Ask Aak and Meena Tills were the three that are a tad bit tougher to find.

What's with the freckles on the bald spots? Click thumbnail for large image
The thing that struck me funny the most perhaps when I viewed the cardback, Governor Tarkin is the only person in the Star Wars universe that got better looking with age. You might think Tarkin stopped off at Mos Eisley to tide one on after further inspection of the photo. There is quite a bit of detail put into the facial painting, you can see faint traces of freckles on either side of the receding hairline. It makes me wonder how did they come up with Alien Nation crossed with Damien from the Omen, when they were supposed to trying to emulate a younger Peter Cushing. The Revenge of the Sith rolled joints are used again, and to tell you the truth I really like this idea. After thinking about it, many loose collections will certainly be short an arm or two in years to come. Perhaps we may get a collection that someday will be actually worth something.

Too bad we never saw if he could use it. Click thumbnail for large image
The sad fact he is packed in with a Blaster almost is a tad bit ironic seeing as we only see Tarkin for a few moments at the end of the film,, doing next to nothing. I'm curious to why there was no dialogue, maybe they couldn't find someone to do a good a job as Ewan McGregor does with the young Obi-Wan. They definitely went old school with the uniform, you can clearly see the baggy pants vs. the straight leg look that would be the future! With articulation limited to the waist up, it would be very difficult for the young lad to get his groove on, but you can make quite a variety of poses utilizing the wrist, elbow and neck movements. Seeing as he did nothing but stand there I guess they weren't too concerned with the fact you could have trouble seating him in a vehicle. However the likeness to the character featured on the window insert will appease most to spend the money.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
Spice - It seems there are not too many that picked this one right up as it sits on many Troopers trade lists. Perhaps we will see a better distribution down the line but with the end of the collection in sight, you may want to make the three mentioned a priority. Overall a great addition to the Revenge of the Sith line.

+    I really like the detail in the face.
-    Could they not do something to secure the joints better?
+     The right index finger also points rather nicely as seen below.
-    When will we see more this wave in mass amounts?
