Spice: It was truly a delight to see Obi-Wan Kenobi lead the charge for the action figure prequel collections. The first of the Revenge of the Sith collection offers much more than a new aero-dynamic wrapper. Whether you rip the package to pieces or carefully steam open, Obi-Wan Kenobi with Slashing Attack is definitely worth further inspection. I really wasn't too impressed with the new sleek package, maybe I'm a person that doesn't care for change but there just seems to be too much plastic, and so much opportunity for a flawed card. Whether it's the tape on the back, pointy sides or flimsy shelf hanger, the package leaves much to be desired from this carded enthusiast. With all the window, there is that much more chance for a scratched bubble.

If you can get past all of that you will notice the facial sculpt really didn't come thru as well as others. I hate to say it but the Acklay battle version could give this a run for the money. I thought these were supposed to get better along the way? For some reason he seems to have an indent smack dab in the middle of his forehead, maybe I just got a flawed one. I think they could have provided a removable robe, as we will see a wonderful job they did on a certain figure in Collection 2. I'm not saying this is the worst incarnation of Obi-Wan, but it far from the best.

What I did like about the Slashing Attack feature is it actually works. They finally figured out if you smack two figures with sabers in hand with any kind of force (pardon the pun), they will fall out of the figures hands. Therefore the interchangeable hands were a magnificent idea, about four years too late. Better late than never I suppose. It was truly a delight to see Obi-Wan to include his saber handle that attaches firmly to his waist. It is sometimes the subtle things that make a great action figure.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
Spice - Obi-Wan with Slashing Attack isn't the worst thing ever put out, but hardly an indication of how great the RotS line is going to be for collectors everywhere. The figure did provide just enough in all categories to make my thumb go up instead of my middle finger.

+    Finally we have begun our Revenge!
-    The same robe technique as featured on Agen Kolar could have been implemented.
+     Great job adding the extra Saber handle
+     The action feature really works, not the first time but perhaps the most effective yet.
