Spice: With great delight we get our first taste of a Clone Commander with a name! Commander Bacara was a great choice to immortalize first due to the fact many could remember him so clearly. Working alongside Ki-Adi Mundi, who would have thought the great Jedi Master  would be gunned down by his first in command? Perhaps one of the most compelling scenes in the film could only be fueled by characters like this  with such amazing details, but yet filled with sheer mystery. That is what was so thrilling about this figure, seeing the obvious evolution, and perhaps where the Snowtroopers got the changes in the armor from.

Only at the end do the fools realize it's too late! Click thumbnail for large image
The frigid world of Mygeeto  required a little more protection from the elements as we see here in the sides of the helmet. The skirt is another example any Star Wars fan would notice and immediately think Snowtrooper. I really enjoy the color scheme they used here as well. The burgundy really sets him apart from the other Galactic Clone Marines, and we all know how a pauldron can go to another Troopers head don't we? The tip of the iceberg could be the flaw in the skirt  which really interferes with the quick-draw attack. Up to this point in my review of RotS figures,  Hasbro had done a very good job of making decent features up to this.

Pull it, bend it, thank God it don't come out! Click thumbnail for large image
I look it over and they definitely could have added some weathering to the armor, however  you can just begin to see the flaws. It would have been nice to add articulation to the left shoulder and elbow, if we couldn't' have the knees. Why have movement in the ankles if you can't bend the knees? Does this make it easier for the collector to grab their ankles?  It's good the left arm does come off so easy and can be re-attached, one disaster averted.  The problem with having super-articulated figures is we get spoiled and would like this quality in every figure. I'm very happy they left the antennae attached vs. the Arc Trooper design that fell out and is a major risk of loss for loose collectors everywhere. This is a great figure but could have been done a lot better.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
Spice - I'm sure they'll make things right on Commander Gree, or Bly. Yes I was a little let down by some of the articulation misses and the lack of action feature but the armor design and color blend does enough to turn my thumb up. Great figure, but it was real close to a stinker. Bacara is my kind of Commander, cold, calculating and capable of taking out wimpy Jedi with one well-placed blaster shot!
