Spice: With one of the most hyped Star Wars video games of all time, you naturally would have to have some really great characters. The Force Unleashed is loaded with many and now that the game has been unveiled and beat more than a couple times, we can really enjoy dissecting these. If for nothing more than to enjoy looking at a figure that isn't Clone Wars / Legacy packaged until our salvo of that line begins. When this wave was to be found, one of the more common would no doubt be General Rahm Kota. Your first challenge for Sith Apprentice "StarKiller" is no match for the power of the Dark Side but how did the plastic version hold up?

The first characteristic that immediately jumps out is the resemblance of a Samurai Warrior. The ponytail is very slick and they even managed to paint the beard that much lighter for some great realism. There are also what appears to be facial scars, which is nothing compared to what you do to him at the end of your lightsaber battle. I'm almost wondering if they swiped his shoulder armor from the G.I. Joe line as it reminds me of the Iron Granadier figure that was released several year back. Overall, I can say I really enjoy the blend of battle armor blended in perfectly with the soft goods. The removable chest armor is also a great touch, you can see they really put quite a bit into the initial wave of figures.

The other thing they did that I really went nuts for was the overload of articulation. There is just about everything except torso as the knees, feet, shoulders, wrists and neck all combine to give this character some super-posing ability. I do have to wonder about the lightsaber holder as I don't recall the game clarifying the use. I can't help but wonder how a blade could be contained across the back? Another good question would be where is the battle-damaged version of him? It'd be great to see the slashed eyes and drunken stupor version too. I really couldn't believe how much of an important role he played in the game.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
Spice - It's too bad they didn't plan on a few more waves to support the release of the game. As we see here they really know how to produce a quality action figure when they set out to do so. Great facial sculpt and paint job, we can only hope Hasbro doesn't go into the red too bad for all the extra movement they packed in! Thumbs up as far as the suns can see!
