Spice: We can only guess when they had the great idea to retool Commander Gree, it made the need for a revised Kashyyyk Trooper a little more necessary. Even though we already had the Elite Corps Clone Trooper fairly recent years, it was nothing more than a repainted Biker Scout mold from 2006. The latest version is quite heavy on articulation and yet seems just a tad short to be a Kashyyyk Trooper one would think. Even though he really doesn't stand tall with the rest of your army, up until fairly recently he was a pretty rough find.

The first thing to really jump out at me was the different camouflage pattern that they put into this paint job. The fact they splashed in a lot more brown, I think this would help blend in to the wooded surroundings that we saw on Kashyyyk. Even though they only supplied him with one weapon, I can't say enough how great it is when that rifle fits in the hand perfectly snug. There are simply too many figures that do not hold the weapons and accessories properly, it was good to see they didn't drop the ball on this aspect. Even though I would have liked to seen them supply us with something, anything else for value purposes.

Get with the flip! Click thumbnail for large image
Another really cool feature is the flip-up mask they added in, as this really seems to be well liked by the collecting community. It's really exciting to see them load up a new sculpt with some extra options. I guess you could say the only thing I really do strongly disagree with is the lack of size that is pretty apparent the second you pluck it off the pegs. I mean seriously Hasbro, find another way to save a buck. We understand the economy is struggling but there has got to be a better way than shorting the collector. Literally at that, as Troopers are the last thing I'd think you'd want to appear smaller.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
Spice - I guess it wouldn't have to warrant escorting the design team out of the Hasbro building by security and having their belongings mailed, but it does make you wonder who approves the overall look of these things. Contrary to popular belief size does matter, even though the fraction of an inch wasn't enough to make my thumb point down or say this was a bad figure.

+   They didn't simply give us a rehash Biker Scout.
-   Give us the extra fraction of an inch Hasbro, quit being so cheap!
+   The flip-up mask option really sets it off.
