A good rehash? What the hell? Click thumbnail for large image
Spice: There is no doubt I can be one of the biggest critics of the rehash. Usually I would trash something like Commander Gree being remade; as I'm sure we could all generate a list of a figures we'd like to see produced first. Once in a while Hasbro gets one over on me in this respect. On occasion they do not simply alter paint or add an accessory and put it in a new wrapper. In this case they gave us much more bang for our buck this time around. The first version wasn't much more than a super articulated Clone Trooper painted different. Even though this one is no easier to find so far, as it seems to be the toughest to find in wave one.

Good thing you don't see the wire behind my head anymore! Click thumbnail for large image
The paint job was much more authentic. In the 2005 version it seemed like they used the same, darker paint used on the AT-RT Driver. This shade is much lighter, and if you compare the shot on the card back you can see it's more accurate. The blaster is a necessity but it was awesome to see they would pack in the binoculars on this trip. The articulation they put into his wrists was really off the charts and for this reason alone I think was enough for them to reproduce this figure. I don't think they've ever put this type of wrists on a figure before. The fact you can create the exact scenes makes this one simply amazing.

A lot more than just a flick of the wrist! Click thumbnail for large image
The details in the binoculars were impressive, as was the removable backpack. It was also nice to see the antenna didn't rise above his helmet by almost a quarter inch. This was something I really hated about the antennas on the Revenge of the Sith Clones. The removable bucket was another interesting touch; it fits quite well and hides his face better than some of the other removable helmets we've seen in the past. It's too bad they couldn't work in a removable head, then you could create every scene! They added in many of the small details, even down to the tiny pouch on the left leg. This shows me they went all out to make this the most accurate version ever.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
Spice - As much as I hate to see a rehash there is no doubt you have to have this one. They made so many changes it will only make you wonder what you want to keep your old one for. It would be exciting to see them create other more accurate Clone Commanders. If they would do this good of a job, I'd have no issue seeing a good rehash every once in a while.
