 With the Chicago White Sox winning the World Series this year I have been searching for a way to boast about the dominance of one of the greatest runs in post season history. Baseball has nothing to do with Star Wars, until NOW! 501st Member Mike Plesha has constructed Soxtrooper to demonstrate his own personal brand of faith towards the World Champs! Tonight some of the 501st were at a Chicago Blackhawks game where I was told Soxtrooper was a huge hit with the fans! It never ceases to amaze me, the ambition and lengths fans go to create some quality entertainment for the enjoyment of others. Have found the final 5 except for the Tac Ops Trooper (naturally, but see further) and the 2nd Titanium ship gift pack, which I really like. Also at my local Wally World this morning, picked up 2 sets of the DVD release Clone 3 packs, one to keep, and one.... you guessed it, to trade, most preferably for a pair of Tac Ops troopers + the difference depending on how much you had to pay for them. The other 2 sets I feel are a waste. The TRU’s here are sticking tight on the $30 purchase for Holo Palpy so I said the heck with it and ordered online. $15 + with shipping but still cheaper than 30. As for the Target or Wal-Mart debate for the DVD, I’m covered. I’m buying at WM for the bonus DVD and my Dad is getting his at Target and giving me the coin. DarthPharaoh always has a plan!!  “Hey Troopers, come November 1st, you may want to get your ROTS DVD at Target. I just ran into the manager there, who is a Star Wars fan also, and he showed me the new DVD with the Collectors coin. I must say I was much impressed with the look of it. It has Vader helmet on the front and the back of the coin shows Obi-Wan & Anakin dueling. I'll pass on the Wal-Mart extra DVD and get this for sure! As far as store news goes, no new figures of the final 5 anywhere in Central Texas. Most stores have seen a plethora of the Bly & Gree wave and many are still sitting on the pegs. Wal-Mart in Harker Heights has the new Titanium ships 5 pack with the Unfinished Tie Bomber, and this set looks very nice.... it includes the Slave 1, Arc-170 (blue colors), X-Wing and Swamp Cruiser. Also the DVD 3 packs are around, the Clone Troopers are the only one worth getting in my opinion...lots of 500th Vaders everywhere as well as the original Clone Trooper Evolutions. Kmart received more of the Jedi Temple Assault Battlepacks, but they are priced at $31.49! I asked the toy dept manager about the cost increase because they were first for $24.99 and she said, and I quote, "Corporate sees these as collectors items, so they raised the price"...if that just don't burn your butt, I don't know what will. Also, after days and miles of searching for and finding the deluxe clone packs, the best toy dept. manager there is puts out a Hasbro display that contains all 4 variations and Vader on O. Table at the Wal-Mart New Milford. The other side of the display contains lightsabers. First I've heard of such a display. A personal note to Sandtrooper JLOUD, my hunch was right.  Today I picked up an advance copy of the Star Wars Episode III DVD in a store in Manhattan; there is a store that always sells them a week early. The first disc is as exciting as September 11th, the last time I saw the movie but I’m really looking forward to the second DVD feature/bonus disc, going to watch it tonight, again! |

I looked in it and to my amazement it had the Holographic Plo koon and Aalya Secrua.  The long wait is just about over, because next Tuesday the highly anticipated video game "Star Wars Battlefront II" will be hitting store shelves throughout the country. And, I'm pretty sure just about everyone here will be running out to pick it up to add to our gaming collection. If you thought the first Battlefront game was good, just wait until you get your hands on this copy! The online website Team Box has recently acquired a copy of the game, and have written a pretty good preview of BF2. The newest feature of the game is the ability to fly just about any spaceship of your choice, and of course this will probably be the coolest feature of the game since it's never been done in a Star Wars game before. Fellow forum member Jedi Scholar 8 has transmitted three new photos to his customs page. The figure he's done is his Shocktrooper Prelate, Grand Inquisitor Rhyne. Pat has described him as the following: "Chosen (and altered genetically) by Palpatine himself to secretly train, discipline, and deploy the Shocktroopers, Rhyne is every bit as evil, sadistic, and blood-thirsty as any Sith could ever hope to become."  Hasbro has updated their Star Wars page with the Clone Wars packs to commorate the release of Volume II. These will be available December 1st at Wal-Mart and do NOT include a DVD. Both sets will come packed in with three new figures. There will be plenty of reasons to hit up the local Wal-Mart stores for all of us Troopers who had thought we’d seen the end of the Cartoon Network Clone Wars figures! I was able to pick up the R4-P17 figure today at both Targets in Murrieta and Menifee, CA. I have an extra one if someone is interested. I hit the Menifee Target today, but missed by about 30 seconds. Both Hologram figures and a Passel Argente were already in a younger kid's hands as I tried to fish through the figures to find my own. Nothing! Missed it by 30 seconds! Anyways, it looks like everything out here is hitting, now it is all about timing. You have to have great timing folks. Anyways, I have an extra #68 or well #64 R4-P17, an extra black clone pilot, both Lava Reflection figures and an extra Coruscant Assault set for trade if anyone has something good.  “I was out looking for new figures and had no luck. I was at Toys R us on Morse Rd and ran into I guy searching for new items as well, neither of us found any - all though he did hand me a little yellow flier for his business:FINDERS COLLECTABLES 5269 GENDER ROAD CANAL WINCHESTER 614-920-0100 His flier states "IF WE DONT HAVE IT, WE WILL FIND IT”. Some Scalpers have some nerve - to buy up all the toys then give you a flyer so you can buy them at inflated prices. This guy was also at Target at Eaton at 8 am on Sunday - a friend of mine seen him buying a lot of the lasted wave of figures also not letting my friend and his little boy get hardly any - and again when he was done picking out all the new figures he handed my friend the same yellow flier. No wonder we cant ever find any new toys. So be on the lookout for this tall skinny guy with his hands full of new toys and yellow fliers.  “Hi Troops. I went on a mini toy run in the Boston, MA area today. The Target in Everett had a ton of Plo Koon Star Fighters and Coruscant Battle Packs. I looked at both for a long time but ultimately decided to pass. By the way, the Battle Packs were on sale for $22.49, and a lot of the other Star Wars merchandise was on sale as well. Target has also expanded the Star Wars section since I was there last to include an end cap. The Toys R' Us in Sommerville had a ton of the Hoth Battle Packs as well. Again, I took a long hard look but decided to pass. I think that I'm going to save my cash for the SAGA figures. I love that original trilogy. In regards to basic figures, both stores had the same pegwarmers that have been there for the past month. Kmart has 10% off all Star Wars toys this week, but I missed the Jedi Temple Assault Battlepack again and all of their figures here are overpriced, so the 10% off doesn't even come close the Wal-Mart prices! There was recently a fire in my home that destroyed a part of my home and part of my Star Wars collection. Luckily the house will be okay and no one was hurt. None of my high value items were destroyed but a large part of my toy collection was ruined. They are all recent figures but I cannot find (nor afford) all of them. I would like to make a post on the front page and in the forums to see if anyone has any extras of these figures or any open and complete ones they would be willing to sell at a fair price.  Fellow staff member Boba Binks is bringing to you another Sandwatch update today, and this time he's written up a review and made some images of Target's exclusive Utapau Shadow Trooper. This is one clone trooper that I am dying to get my hands on, because the paint application looks very well done on it. These are sure to be hard to find, so if you happen to find these in stores pick up an extra for those troopers who won't have the luck of finding these in their local stores.  If anyone here knows me well enough you would know that I love Star Wars. Who doesn't, right? Well, it looks like us humans aren't the only ones who can enjoy Star Wars to the fullest, now that there are Star Wars costumes for pets! These days pets can have just as much fun pretending to be Star Wars characters as we did when we were kids trick-or-treating for Halloween. For a laugh you'll have to read more about this here. |
 It's been reported that the all mighty George Lucas is in a union dispute with some sound editors that work for Lucasfilm. Lucasfilm's Vice President of Affairs, Howard Roffman, said "We have spent four very frustrating months and have been unable to get the union to the bargaining table to negotiate.  Fellow staff member Jimsjedi attended the recent Wizard World Boston event, and sadly he didn't have as much fun as other staff members here had at Wizard World Chicago. He mentioned there weren't many dealers selling Star Wars goods, and it's funny how the most exciting part of his trip was meeting WWE's Mick Foley. If people are still in need of the Target Exclusive Lava Reflection Anakin and Obi-Wan in the St. Louis area - the Target at Lindbergh and I-55 is your store! They weren't out on the shelves yet, but I took the DCPI number (087-06-0298 - one number for both figs) in and they had 3 whole cases (6 of each per case)! I got to pick mine straight from the case when he opened it up. They MIGHT have been putting them out on the shelves yesterday afternoon (since I brought them to their attention) - I saw the stock guy back in toys saying he had more Star Wars stuff. They also had 2 of the Exclusive Tie Fighters.
