"I just wanted to send in this store report from Wisconsin. I just found a case of new Clone Wars basic figs at my Wal-Mart. It contained four Obi-Wans, four General Mace, and four ARC troopers. The case was crushed as though someone sat on the whole case. The odd thing about this find was that all the ARC troopers have red trim instead of the blue. I have never seen this mentioned before. I will send in a photo later today when I get home. Does anyone have any more info on these red ARC troopers?"jjakab@msn.com | |
"Jay, I received an e-mail from 'ebay' stating I need to update my account for no reason or they will suspend my account:

"This is going to be really cool if they can keep us happy and keep bringing out good products like Jedi Knight Army packs." - If only Hasbro could figure out a way to stop the retool invasion, these are a heck of a start. My Crimson brother Lord Spiceowan flew solo in this edition of SANDWATCH, and reviewed the Jedi Knight Army 3-pack from the ongoing Clone Wars multipack series. In a series devoted to recolored upon recolored Clones, why do they give you a three pack of generic Jedi? Oh I get it, you have to have some good guys get killed right? |

"Lin Que here with a long overdue Midwest Report. The newer stuff is starting to become more and more common. I walked into an Omaha, Nebraska Wal-Mart a few days ago and saw the SW restocked with Coleman, Padme, and Barriss. The Clone wars are here with all the first wave being pretty common. No sighting of Clone Wars three packs however (the only thing that seems to hang around are those God-awful droid launcher). Yesterday at Toys 'R' Us I saw the new Unleashed wave (Luke, Obi, Emperor) and the reissue gold card wave. I picked up a Luke Skywalker but it was bent to high hell. If anyone sees an extra Durge or Clone on Speederbike please let me know. I'll be happy to pay/trade for it. Here are my trades: Evil Lyn, Twin Two, Eowyn in Armor, Chase Whiplash, Emmit Smith in New Jersey, and Teela. All are MOC. I really need some help so if someone out there can help it would be appreciated."washingtonss@cox.net |

Dateline: TRU Invasion. "Well, I went to TRU in Northern Alabam after work this evening and found a ton of stuff. Here is a quick run down: Emperor wave, and Clone wars wave (they had about 10 ARC Troopers). This isn't related to Star Wars but Hasbro has reissued the a G.I.Joe vehicle form 1988. The Mobile Command Center. It is very nice and huge. It has a price tag of $59.99. Take care all."c-ryan@mchsi.com |

As of right now, we kindly ask you to take a few deep breaths, find your store receipt and return your two "Saga Greedos" We are sorry to tell you this but as the gathered results of our in depth team investigation will further show, returning the figures is in your best interest. Please, read: |

"I wanted to know whether you guys have seen the new Greedo because no one has said it's been sighted, but I picked one up. It's weird, I didn't know they were releasing a Greedo on the new gold card but I managed to pick up two. I was wondering whether they are a Target Exclusive since that's where I bought them. How rare are they and what is the value? Is Hasbro releasing figures and not telling us keeping it a secret? Because if so, I like it, the feeling of finding a figure you didn't even think existed. Thanks. Anyone willing to trade, I've got an extra one, get back."Jacash006@aol.com A crack team of Sandtroopers led by Julian H. Betancourt has been dispatched to give a Sandtrooper Observation on this matter. |

"Boba-Brett with an area report from Rocky River, Ohio. I could only make it to the brand new Wal-Mart Super Center where I found Emperor, WA-7, Padme Wedding, Dannl Faytoni, Baby Jedi, Yoda & Chian, Wat Tambor, Coleman Trebor, Aayla Secura, Barriss Offee and that's about it. AWESOME! Congratulations to my friends Bill & Cheryl on their marriage. That was the best wedding I've ever been to. You guys are awesome friends! MTFBWY!".lbg2000@netzero.net |

"Just wanted to let you know that fellow sandtroopers came through with a lot for me. I got the blue and green clone 3 packs. Now all i need is a white clone three pack. Please, if anyone can help, let me know. I am heading to Kentucky in a week and would like to have it shipped there waiting for me. Thanks" - Marcboba@quickclic.net A S.C.A.L.P. detachment has been dispatched to the Bluegrass of Kentucky to deliver a white Clone 3-pack. Just look for it near the pile of burned and charred corpses of local scalpers. |
"Troops, Today I stopped by the House of the Hairy Giraffe, AKA Toys R Us, and found the Hailfire Droid and the Geonosian Fighter. They had plenty to go around. They also had lots of 12-inch figures from Zam to Lando. The smaller figures included Sec. Cer. Anakins, red Battle Droids, and Han Hoths."Now for my two cents about the Jedi points. I am an opener and stopped saving the points a long time ago. I'm glad I did because although I would have amassed thousands of points, it wouldn't have made a difference. It's a total joke. I don't think anyone's taking it seriously, not that they should. Hasbro really dropped the ball on this one. This is one trooper who's glad he didn't bother saving his almightly Jedi points. That's the news from East Central Wisky." dsollitto@new.rr.com |

Jedi Points and Has "blows""I believe the folks at Hasbro are getting high and maybe a few Star Wars collectors out there too! Whatever happened to sending in 5 proofs of purchase and getting a free figure. Instead, go out and buy 2,500 figures (about $12,800 with tax in California) to get 25,000 Jedi Points (a current bid for Jorg Sacul) and get a figure that sells for about $65 on eBay (Jorg Sacul MOMC). People were and still are selling Jedi Points on eBay - one auction on ebay went for $138.05 for 2400 Jedi Points. Going at it that way you only spend $1,438 for the $65 figure. Wow ... that's all Hasbro could come up with? What about the poor 4 - 12 year-olds out there with 5 - 10 Jedi Points? I think Hasbro (and some collectors) need an enema." - Sandtrooper Eric, ejhalsted@sbcglobal.net Absolutely, this is spin at it's best. Now for another opinion ... Gripe Session! Jedi Master Points Joke?! "Okay troopers, we need an opinion poll about the JediMaster points mess! How does everyone feel about this? They have made the process of using everyones' hard-saving and precious JediMaster points for auction a terrible dissappointment! Of course this my opinion, what about some other viewpoints?" - Sandtrooper SJ in Michigan, SLKMJune@aol.com Alright, here we go. With the controversy surrounding the Jedi Points Auction, here is a Double Deuce of Extensive Polls, see Poll No. 8 above! |
| Do you hide figures? | |
| Sure. All the time | |
| I do ... just so others can't get them | |
| I do, but come back later to buy them | |
| Only when I'm short on funds | |
| I hate people who do this | |
| I don't, but it's ok | |
| I tried, but the clerks find them | |
| I do ... just to enrage the store workers | |
| I do ... just to annoy local scalpers | |
| I hide them from spouse/family | |
| STOP HIDING FIGURES MAT-LARGE! | |
Next up, after the Jedi Points fiasco, is a parody of Hasbro Fan Choice Poll. Go ahead and vote here, because, although the outcome is irrelevant, there isn't a pre-marketed winner that has already been picked for you. After a summer of Vaders, Hans, and Lukes, one after another, can you say Qui-Gon Jinn Number 87 anyone? Vote in Extensive Poll No. 7 above. |
Dateline - Sandtrooper Tom Fett said: "Jedi Points is out it is an auction, open to members of the Hasbro website. So all you Troopers go and register, the auction will run for Thirteen (13) weeks. I have just got the e-mail on it all info. is true, the wait is over now you know what to do with your Jedi Points and it is only open to Hasbro site members so you can fill all the holes in your collections and screw the scalpers, have fun! Also, Hasbro is getting ready to let lose info. on the 2004 line. Wave 1: Luke Skywalker, Wampa Cave; Wave 2: Luke Skywalker, Return of the Jedi; Wave 3: Jabba's Palace; Wave 4: Battle of Yavin - Captain Antilles ( Fans Choice # 5), General Dodonna ( close runner-up to Antilles); Wave 5: Star Destroyer - Dengar (with backpack). Hope this helps all my fellow troopers get their collections up to date and keeps those scalpers on the run, trying to sell what you have and give us back our hobby. That’s it from your friendly Bounty Hunter Tom Fett."Tomohanlon40@msn.com The e-mail from Hasbro has found its way into the inboxes of many disillusioned fans. Why not do a real promotion instead of a token gesture designed to have a slick presentation but ultimately leaving Jedi Point holders no better off than before? People bidding a million points ... what are they going do if you don't have the points? - nothing! |
