Sundays always mean there will be those retail ads in your local newspaper, and for two weeks in a row Toys 'R Us has had Star Wars items in their ad. This week the only item on sale are the Galactic Heroes multipacks for $19.99 ($5 off). The ad is dominated by non-sales items which include the following: TIE Interceptor, Y-Wing Fighter, and four LEGO sets. I'd love to see that Republic Cruiser go on sale, but I'll be holding off as it's almost $100. If you buy anything Star Wars related that surpasses $15, you'll receive an exclusive 30th anniversary Galactic Forces Character Fact Wheel (a Jabba-sized $3.99 value). Check out their ad here. |
Hey Troopers, our S.C.A.L.P. Intel has just received several new photos of carded and loose shots from Wave 7! While most of us are still tracking down waves 4, 5 and have never seen 6, take a look at what is going to be hitting shelves in the near future. For more check out the page that has been put together with the photos of the five figures. Make sure to drop by our forums and sound off your thoughts on what's in your area. |

We have received our latest round of questions direct from Hasbro's high command. While we only had two questions answered this week we did get some in-depth feedback regarding the Cantina bar. Take cover and head for the forums and take a look at what they had to say. We also received a round for the Jawa.com which is still under going reconstruction. Do you have a question for the Hasbro Q & A Team? Login and leave your question in the forums. United We Find! |
Hasbro has updated us with the results for the next figures that will be made Saga Legends. We hope Hasbro to utilize the Q & A sites again in the future for input as we truly enjoyed taking part. For the most part Troopers were the most popular but for the entire run down you can read more details in our forums. We thank Hasbro for allowing all Q & A websites to participate this time around! |

It was announced back at Celebration IV that Yoda wouldn't become one with the Force, but instead would become one with the mail. The United States Post Office had originally scheduled to have Yoda released in stamp format sometime in September, but it's now been delayed to be released in October. On another note, the R2-D2 mailboxes that you've seen on street corners and in front of grocery stores will be taken down starting on October 25th. So if you haven't had your photo taken in front of one yet, you better jump on that pretty quick. Read the full press release of this on the USPS website. |

The guys at Gizmodo.com have a video of a motorized Lego AT-AT walking across the table. See the video here. This set comes with 4 Lego figures an AT-AT Pilot, General Veers, Snowtrooper and Luke Skywalker. The AT-AT walks and the head moves up and down while in motion. The cockpit also opens up just like the Hasbro version. Here is a link directly to Lego's site if you would like to order one of these motorized sets for $129.99. |

We were a week off as our friends at ACME Archives have launched the sale of the latest character key today (not early last week as previously reported). With the past success of this line, you can expect the edition size of 1000 to sell out soon. For more information and to place your order check out their website before it's too late! |

Find out what all the hype was a couple weeks back at the Baltimore Comic-Con as Sandtrooper Boba Binks has added the fifth of the Clone Commander Exclusives. Thank you to our sponsor Andrew's Toyz for their help with this guide. |

Hey Troopers, our S.C.A.L.P. Intel has stumbled across several new photos of the latest round of commemorative tins from Hasbro. For more check out the page that has been put together with the photos of all three sets. Make sure to drop by our forums and sound off your thoughts on the commemorative tins. |

Was going through the Sunday newspaper ads this morning, and noticed a couple of sales on some Star Wars toys. Target has assorted vehicles on sale for $17 each and 10% off other selected items. It doesn't specify in the ad exactly which vehicles are on sale, but seeing as there's a picture of Mace Windu's Jedi Starfighter I'm thinking it's more in the $25 range. The other sale worth mentioning was the buy two Star Wars figures get the third one free at Toys 'R Us. Now that sounds like a really good deal to me, especially since the pegs in my area are flooded with some really good army builders (e.g. Galactic Marine, Death Star Trooper, Clone Trooper, Stormtrooper, etc). If you know of any other sales on Star Wars toys at retail stores, send us an email to news@sandtroopers.com. United We Find! |

In December Dark Horse has some action packed comics coming our way! We find out how the Skywalker's are doing just a few months after the events of A New Hope during Rebellion #11. Star Wars Legacy #19 is not skimping out on the action either as Cade Skywalker reaches a bridge that could destroy the Skywalker legacy. Make sure you check out Star Wars.Com to get the rest of the info and what else Dark Horse has in store for the Star Wars Universe. |
Hey troopers! Sandtrooper dustrho here, and I wanted to share with you the rare victory I experienced this morning while running some errands with my son. We stopped at the Target in Oswego, and of course the only thing that looked interested were the six Star Wars children laptops sitting on the shelf. I wouldn't be pay $20 for those, but seeing as how my son seemed to like it a lot I'd buy one once they go on clearance. We then hit up the new Wal-Mart just down the road, and can you say jackpot!? I was lucky to have picked up the following figures there: Anakin Skywalker (Clone Wars), C-3PO & Salacious Crumb, Hermi Odle (it's so big & heavy that it's attached crooked to the card), Roron Corobb (slight card damage), Sandtrooper, and lastly Yoda & Kybuck (talk about great detail on both figures!). These all look really good and I was lucky to have found them, as they were the only ones there. United We Find! |

The final installment of the Acme Archives interview has been posted. These line of questions focused more on fun and finding interesting bits of information on Peter and Sean. Find out what other projects Peter & Sean have worked on. Discover more of their appreciation of Star Wars and what their favorite characters are. Read the interview here. As an added bonus we have a mini-Sandblast from Acme Archives. We will be giving away a Concept X-Wing Skecthplate. Sandtroopers thanks Peter, Sean, and Acme Archives for all they have done for us. |
Hey troopers! Our great friends over at JediDefender have brought to the galaxy's attention an exciting new battle pack from Hasbro titled "The Battle of Hoth." It includes a Rebel laser turret, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, two Rebel soldiers, three snowtroopers, an AT-ST driver and lastly an AT-ST. I was totally blown away at how much Hasbro is packing into such a small package, and although some of it is simple rehash I'm sure you'll have a hard time finding this on store shelves. Check out this must-have battle pack here! |

No, I am not talking about Mad Dog, but the number of animated shows completed for the new Clone Wars animation series. TV Guide recently released the 2nd half of an interview with George Lucas. Included in the interview, Lucas discusses what type of theme the show will be covering. He also believes it to be a PG-13 animation tv series, which will make it hard to find the right network to air it on. He goes on to say that he wants it after 9pm and not on any kids network. Where does it go from here? Only time will tell, it is planned to start airing in the Fall of 2008. To read more of the interview, please check out this story and even more information can be found here. |
Super-fans Vic Wertz and Lisa Stevens who used to run the Official Fan club have one of the coolest home theater setups around. They brought in some very special folks who worked on and help make a couple of the Star Wars movies. It took several designs to get the room looking the way these folks wanted but it really is some amazing work. Once you read this article you may even be inspired to build your own special movie room! Take some time to read this article and explore the Death Star . |

The Gentle Giant Busts guide has been updated with the latest addition, Princess Leia. She is wearing her outfit from the Star Wars: A New Hope. She is armed and dangerous with her DC-15 blaster ready to take down Imperial Stormtroopers, while trying to escape Death Star. This mini-bust has captures a good likeness of Carrie Fisher with a good sculpt and paint application. She is still available from many of our sponsors, so go get her troopers! Thank you to our sponsor Andrew's Toyz for their help with this guide. |

Our friends at ACME archives are showing off the latest character key as they prepare for pre-order on this item. It is none other than Durge, the menace from the Clone Wars! We are told this should be going on sale early next week. With an edition size of 1000 pieces you can guess that it’s safe to say this one won’t last too long. For more check out the update for a full size look at the latest key! |

No, we're not talking about the song by Murray Head. We are talking about the unique artwork from one lady from an Oriental setting. Yumi Modal is an artist inspired by Sci-Fi movies and makes her Statues from others trash. She started out making these in her garage and has become so successful she had opened 2 stores. Some of her statues include Yoda, Stormtroopers and other movie character. To see her work, please check out and look at what she has created here. |
The whole world as we knew it changed six years ago. For those of us here in America, take today to reflect how important your freedom is to you. Think about how United this great country was in the initial weeks following the attack. Try to replace the flag outside that is faded and weathering away. Tie a new yellow ribbon outside that will withstand the beating of this winter. Replace the "Let's Roll" bumper sticker on your cars and let Todd know we'll NEVER forget his courage. Take a moment to remember all the people that lost their life that terrible day. The most important thing of all is not to forget those men and women who are out there right now risking everything so we can continue to live the dream of liberty. The world may be forever changed but never forget the day we were blind-sided. We will never forget the day we didn’t listen. Rejoice the Freedom tower will rise, as this great nation will continue to do the same. The tragedy of 9-11 will never be forgotten by America and we look forward to the day when they all come home safe… |

We will be taking questions from our members for this special interview, so please post yours for these two gentlemen in our forums. The deadline for the questions will close Wednesday September 12, 2007 10:00AM. |
I'll have to admit that I had my doubts with the ownership change of Star Wars Insider, as I didn't know if the magazine would change for the better or worse. With the latest issue (#96) on newsstands now, it's safe to say the Force is strong with them as it's entirely dedicated to the Empire. The one article that looks most promising is the interview with Rick McCallum, which primarily goes into detail about the future live-action TV show. Read more about this here. |
In a recent announcement by LucasArts, it appears that their highly addictive and successful Star Wars: Empire at War is going gold. What exactly does that mean? You get the regular version of Empire at War plus the newer expansion pack titled Forces of Corruption, so it's basically a 2-for-1 special and will only cost you $29.99. It's available for pre-order at LucasArtsStore.com, and will be shipping sometime this month. |

As if the news from Sideshow Collectibles on Darth Sidious wasn't enough for you Troopers, we have news from our friends at Kotobukiya. They've officially announced their next piece and its one of the most powerful moments of Revenge of the Sith. That would be Yoda vs. Darth Sidious! The piece will be done in the normal set up that we expect from Koto and standing 15 inches long and 11 inches tall will fit right in with your other Koto items. Make sure you check out Star Wars.Com to get the rest of the info and what this most impressive piece. |
Our Sandwatch Guides are updated tonight with the latest addition of the Comic Book 2-packs to hit the pegs. Wave 3 has one of the more anticipated sets with Luke Skwalker & Mara Jade (Heir to the Empire) being the rougher of the three to find at this point. Personally I found the A' Sharad Hett and Darkwoman story (The Hunt for Aurra Sing) much more enjoyable than any of the others. However it just couldn't be Hasbro unless we got a Darth Vader, which they packed with Princess Leia and the story "Infinities". For more check out the photos and summary that Sandtrooper Boba Binks has laid out for us. |

The coolest R2-D2 replica on this planet is now selling from gadget shop Hammacher and Schlemmer.
