“Hi Troops. I'm back from Boston to visit my folks in Ohio. I knew that my home state would come through for me. At only my second stop today, I found #57-#63 at Wal-Mart. Oh, yeah! I picked up Commader Bly and Commander Gree. Sweet! They also had a bunch of Green Clone Commanders and Black Clone Pilots (which I never saw out on the East Coast). Ohio rules! Did I mention that they were all also on sale? Wal-Mart rules too! I even picked-up some extra Clones so that I could try to do a few customs while on vacation. Heck, they were on sale. Why not? What a great start to my vacation. Trooper Jon out.”KaperJB@aol.com |
We have received many emails regarding the case we featured at the Sandtroopers.com bunker at the Chicagoland Entertainment Collector’s Expo a couple weeks back. I have just gotten word Wholesalecases.com has finally received the restock they have been waiting for. For all of you loose collectors out there, this is perhaps one of the best ways you could display your favorite figures. Features mirrored background, Plexiglas cover and holes for easy wall mounting. This item sells for $28.95 and the price drops a bit if larger quantities are ordered. |
“It has been a few months since I last posted, but I have had some good luck lately. First, I wanted to shout out to Trooper Dead Hero for the recent trade. I also wanted to thank Trooper Sithryan for the latest hookup - get well soon! And of course Darth Spice for the totally unexpected treat I received in addition to the trade we agreed on. You are the man! As for my recent luck, I have come across Commanders Gree and Bly at my local Murrieta Wal-Mart along with a Wookie Warrior and Neimoidian Commander. I am not sure if the first 6 of the last 12 have all been released, but it would seem fitting since I found the Neimoidian Commander. Not much else, there were black Clone Pilots, Obi pilots, and lots and lots of Clone Troopers. Keep an eye out. These are the first basic figures I have bought since July. Good to see new things out there.”chicanodom@msn.com |
“DarthPharaoh checking in. Found a couple of new figs at Wally World this morning. Cat Miin and Wookiee Commando but that was it. Nice surprise though since my area is usually 4 weeks or so behind the rest of the U.S. Picked up the Jedi Temple Assault pack in the last week as well. Nothing newer than the Tie Fighter in the way of Target exclusives, and has anyone seen the Clone Attack on Coruscant Battle Pack yet? Why is it not out with the rest? Well, I’ll be scouring this weekend, good luck fellow troopers. Death to all scalpers!”djohnson@internap.com |

It’s been pretty hectic near the pegs in the Lake County, IL area. Target has been heavily stocked of late with Evolutions Stormtrooper, a wide variety of deluxe figures and the new way over priced TIE Fighter. I still would like to see some of the many unmade prequel vehicles before seeing another TIE but you take what you can get. The figures are hitting, Sandtrooper Jason a.k.a. Dead Hero reported finding figures #57-63 at the Antioch, IL Super Wal-Mart last night. I believe he said he picked up a set for trade. I’ve searched high and low but have yet to find the Jedi Temple Assault pack at any of the area Kmart stores. This is one you just have to hope starts showing up by the caseload. Hopefully you Troopers are having the same luck and the fuel prices are beginning to drop so fueling up the Dewback can actually be near affordable. Good luck to you Troopers in your neck of the woods, drop us a line and let us know what your latest run produced. United We Find! |

“Hey Troops, I went on a deep recon down into our southern desert this weekend (Phoenix) and found a collectors pack at KB Toys at Metrocenter. It comes with 8 - 3.5" figures and a collectors Silver Darth Vader for a total of 9 action figures. It even had a blue Royal Guard in the pack plus Dooku, Palpatine, C-3PO, B. Organa, Ki Adi Mundi, Kit Fisto, and Luminara. I thought I had seen all the ROTS packaged items but this one was new to me. 53569 - 11909 SKU and an item number of 85881. Just an FYI! Keep your eyes peeled; you never know what you are going to come across out there. Keep your Blasters close! Sandtroopers Rock!”tpinney2@cox.net |
“Hey Troops, Donna from So Cal. The Spud has Sprouted. Went to Wal-mart Sat morning and found the new Spudtrooper. Then stopped by Target and scored the Sith Evolutions. Also during the past three weeks, I have found the following: Wal-Mart “Titanium wave three and 5-pack gift set with metal AT-RT and Yoda/Emperor Force Battlers.” Target “TIE Fighter, Collector's Pack, Halloween M&M Ceramic Figs, X-mas ornaments, and the deluxe second wave again with all white clone 3-pack and Vader w/table.” TRU “Hoth Battle pack, Black Clone Pilot, and all tan AT-RT.” K-Mart “second shipment of Throne Room Battle pack. Until next time, Happy Hunting to all!” theloneswlady@adelphia.net |

Other than that not much for new stuff showing up in this area. HothChad out!”chadbarb@sherbtel.net |

“Bobafred chiming in from San Diego... just wanted to give the Troops a heads up on what’s hitting soon. Wal-Mart will be having a big Star Wars advertisement in next Sundays paper for the week of October 1st. If your looking for Light sabers at $14.99, Action figures at $4.88 and Evolutions at a lower price.... then you want to hit it hard for this week so save your gas! Also look for Target to compete with their releases of Exclusives. I Came to Comic - Con and now find myself residing out here since. I would like to give thanks to Sandtroopers Jedi Dom, and John Bixby for the insight on nightly entertainment as well as the hot stores to hit. I also would like to thank Spice, and Family, TLSWL-Donna for the hook up! Oh yeah...lil Snipe, and RJP if your still wondering who brushed your shoulders at Comic-Con....Well now you know! I really tried to find you all! And to Jedi Dom I’m still here in La Jolla so drop me a jingle so we can hook up! Bobafred on the hunt!”orozco91331@yahoo.com |
There's some great news for all the LEGO fans out there. The Official Site recently announced that LEGO will soon be releasing five new Star Wars LEGO sets, which include Slave I, A-wing, B-wing, V-wing and TIE Interceptor. The only true new set of these is the V-wing, whereas the others are just totally updated with new designs and/or paint jobs. That doesn't mean these aren't worth picking up, but it sure would be nice if LEGO would come up with some new designs, instead of going the re-hashed route as another manufacturer of Star Wars toys (you know who I'm referring to). These are expected to be released early next year. Check out all the photos of these new sets here. |
StarWarsShop.com has recently added to their store the new exclusive Episode II C-3PO mini-bust from Master Replicas. There will only be 2,500 of these made, will retail for $49.99, and will ship this November. There is a limit of two per customer, and since this is an exclusive item you'll want to pre-order this now. |

The latest news involving the upcoming video game, "Star Wars: Battlefront II," is that there is a downloadable beta version of this game. LucasArts and IGN Entertainment are offering to those interested the chance of playing this game before it's released in stores on November 1st. To learn more about how you can get your own beta copy of this click here. |
Opening tomorrow is the show called "Dressing a Galaxy: The Costumes of Star Wars," which will be held at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles. The woman behind the costumes in all three prequel films, Trisha Biggar, will have more than one hundred costumes, props and photographs on display in a building that has almost 11,000 square feet of exhibit space. For more information about this event click here. |
The journey has begun for Lucasfilm, who has reportedly started their search for screenwriters for the planned TV series. The show is expected to run at least fifty hours, will involve a combination of live-action filming and CGI special effects, and should start filming sometime in 2007 in Australia. Of course no one has any idea as to what the show will be about, but it sure is nice knowing that Star Wars isn't ending anytime soon. Read more about this here. |

“Just a quick note from Jersey, I spotted the Interactive R2 at B.J's wholesale club. $69.99 does not seem like a bad price. Other than that the stores in the area are a joke, speaking of jokes the Holiday Vader? Are you kidding me? I am a Vader collector but this thing reminds me of the lava Vader. This is what I get for being a Fan Club member? I was not even notified my membership ran out. I missed two Insiders and will not be renewing unless yet another publisher takes the ball and runs with it.”kmclark14@comcast.net |
“Hey Troopers it has been slow going and nothing coming but I need some assistance from any Trooper out there to help me get the new Star Tours figures and the Yoda/Mickey figure 2-pack? I almost feel bad to ask seeing as Katrina too has affected them, but hopefully someone going there can help out! Thanks again!”Onebigk@aol.com |
Hey Troopers! You wanted to learn more about all the Clone Troopers that were in Revenge of the Sith? Well, you'll now be able to with the latest edition of Star Wars Insider that will soon be on store shelves. In this issue, the authors Karen Traviss and Ryan Kaufman go into great detail about all the different clone units, the weapons they use, and the heroes under the armor like Captain Fordo, Commander Bacara, Sergeant Fox and Captain Jag. What's really cool about this month's issue is that there will be three different covers, each one sporting a different Clone Trooper on it, including Commander Gree, Commander Bly and Sergeant Fox. This issue will be shipping to Fanclub members this week, and it will start shipping to newsstands September 26. You can read more about this here. |
The Official Site has added more content to their Hyperspace section, by adding the "Lucasfilm Fan Club Magazine #7 Online Supplement." This throwback is for those who want to go way back to the Spring of 1989. In this online issue you'll read about Lucasfilm licensing, having the chance of owning C-3PO's golden hand, special effects of "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade," and so much more. You have to be a Hyperspace member in order to view this section, and if you are you don't want to miss out on this. Check it out here. |
Fellow staff member Boba Binks has brought to us a couple updates to the Image Guides section. First up is the Princess Leia in Boushh Disguise bust. The likeness to Carrie Fisher is dead on with this stunning bust created by Gentle Giant. This particular bust comes with two different sculpted heads, one with the bounty hunter helmet on her head, and the other with her helmet off. |
Next up is another incredibly detailed and accurate statue from Gentle Giant, which happens to be R2-D2's best friend... C-3PO. When you take a close look at this statue, you could swear that Anakin Skywalker built this particular piece with his bare hands, because it looks that good. I'm very much looking forward to seeing what Gentle Giant will produce next for us. |

Hello friends, I am reaching out to the Star Wars Community in hopes to get their support in the fight against Diabetes, particularly Juvenile Diabetes(type 1). Last year my son was diagnosed with this disease and after that we decided to help raise money for a cure. Since then we participated in the annual Walk to Cure Diabetes to support the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) to help find that cure. This year with spproval from Lucasfilm, we are allowed to feature Darth Vader along with our mascot, the Chrisosaurus Rex on a special T-Shirt to help raise those funds. Please check out TheJawa.com for all the details on how you can help and get a cool limited collectible to boot! |

“There is not a lot to tell out here in the high western desert. Finished out the Evolutions collection at Wal-Mart. For the most part I've been looking for things I've missed to fill in the blanks. The new miniature collection that's out is real cool and I'm waiting on the miniature AT-AT's this fall. Does anyone have news on when we might see some of the promised Star Wars TV shows? I'm soaking up all the reading material I can get my hands on. I need some new video! I guess that's about it from way out West. Sandtroopers Dominate!”tpinney2@cox.net |

Even though movie ticket sales have been on a continuous decline since the Summer of 2002, movies like Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, have been one of the few films to help keep movie theaters from going out of business. Revenge of the Sith brought in approximately $380 million between the months of May and August, while other films like War of the Worlds, Batman Begins and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory also contributed to helping out ticket sales. Not one of the top ten films this summer came anywhere close to making the amount of money that ROTS brought in. These days more and more people are either watching television and/or DVDs in the comforts of their own homes, but to me it's still a lot of fun going out to watch a good movie once in a while. Read more about the decline in Summer movie sales here. |
"Some more good news from Central Texas today! Target in Killeen has the new Star Cases, Large Wing TIE Fighter, Wookiee Flyers, Clone & Sith Evolutions and some Battlepacks, but still no new figures past #44 in several months now! Both local Wal-Marts have received numerous cases of Clone Trooper & Sith Evolution sets, but some look like the boxes went through a train wreck, all bent up and crushed. Still no new regular figures in three weeks now. K-Mart had the 501st Clone Battlepacks, but they were gone right after being put on the shelf, or so that's what I've heard. Plenty of the Throne Room packs left. TRU still has no basic figures past the originals released on April 2nd, but they still have some of the Asaaj Unleashed wave left, plus Wookiee Flyers and other odds and ends! That's pretty much all from Central Texas for now. BTW, I am looking for a Troy Aikman NFL Legends figure in the blue jersey, any help obtaining this would be appreciated. Thanks Troopers, starfox signing out!"starfox@sandtroopers.com |

“What's happening Troopers? Here's a brief report for 9/9/05. Target (Gurnee, IL): has the exclusive Collector Packs & 2 of the new expensive TIE Fighters in stock. Everywhere else has pretty much the same stuff from a month ago. That's all for now. Later.”wrightcombo@juno.com |
Our Gentle Giant Busts visual guide page has been updated again, thanks to the excellent work done by fellow staff member Boba Binks. The latest addition to the guide is Gentle Giant's Han Solo bust. This bust looks very much like Han Solo from Star Wars: A New Hope, and I think it's one of the best human busts Gentle Giant has done so far. Check out the picture of it and all the other busts for yourself over here. |
Dark Horse Comics and the Official Site have recently revealed what is in store for us this coming Winter, as far as the many different comic books that will be coming out. It's obvious from the list you're about to see, that these comic artists have been quite busy, putting together some of the best Star Wars artwork into comic book form. It's also amazing how they can tell such powerful stories with the illustrations they create using simple tools such as pen and paper. Some of the comics that we will be expecting include the following:Read more about these comics here. |
Coming back to Burger King are the Super-D toys that were hot sellers back in April. This time there will be four new categories of these (four toys in each category), which include Cosmic Cruisers, Shadow Casters, Galactic Spinners and Jedi Wisdom. A total of seventeen new toys will be available from November 7 through December 11. Wait a minute, didn't I just say there were four toys per category? Well, I did, and the reason why there are seventeen toys instead of the sixteen described above, is that there will be a Darth Vader chase figure! This figure will come with a sound chip, and is expected to be much harder to track down this time. Also coming out during that timeframe are "Have it Your Way" Destiny watches. These watches have a laser hologram that sports two different images, and you can view these by flipping up the watch's face. These will come in their own collectible tin with stylized embossed imagery and one of six titles from the Star Wars saga. Read more about this here. |
“Troops, I found worthy items two days in a row at the Quarry shopping center in LaGrange, IL (Hodgkins/Countryside). Yesterday, Wal-Mart had AT-RT drivers (white eye mask corrected version) and rehash number 28 Anakin with red eyes. Today, Target had two new TIE Fighters and I have to thank Trooper Jimmy B. at my work that grabbed one for me and was waiting at the door when I came in! Wal-Mart had number 6 Shock Trooper (4), so Jimmy grabbed two and I intercepted two for friend Darth Spice. A very good two days in the middle of the week, so keep 'on Target' for the TIEs (too bad the pilot was the non-articulated version). That's all for now Troops!”jason.meyers@gm.com |
“DarthPharaoh checking in from just north of Hotlanta. It’s been a steady week of some new arrivals and almost everyone has been in on it. Here’s what I’ve found. Wally World had the new wave of Titanium vehicles except for the new X-wing. KB Toys had clone repaints and AT-RT Driver, TRU had the Sith Evolution pack (STILL no Obi-Wan Starfighter though) and finally Target had the collector cases AND the Target exclusive Tie Fighter. Which I swore I wouldn’t buy at 39.99 but my mental collector side beat up my mental frugal side and I forked it over. Also want to give delayed but big thumbs up to Jedi So Cal Dom for a trade a couple weeks ago! I’m out...Death to all scalpers!Update 9-13: DarthPharaoh with just a quick report from the Atlanta area. On my way home yesterday I made a quick run by the TRU in Duluth and found the Hoth Battlepack! Hadn't seen anyone report these yet so they`re showing up! United we find and Death to all scalpers!” djohnson@internap.com |
