Sandtrooper Jon Reports:
S.C.A.L.P. Elite Forces“Hi Troops. I'm back from Boston to visit my folks in Ohio. I knew that my home state would come through for me. At only my second stop today, I found #57-#63 at Wal-Mart. Oh, yeah! I picked up Commader Bly and Commander Gree. Sweet! They also had a bunch of Green Clone Commanders and Black Clone Pilots (which I never saw out on the East Coast). Ohio rules! Did I mention that they were all also on sale? Wal-Mart rules too! I even picked-up some extra Clones so that I could try to do a few customs while on vacation. Heck, they were on sale. Why not? What a great start to my vacation. Trooper Jon out.”

Update from Wholesalecases.com: Figure display cases Back in Stock!
Protect YOUR stuff with THE Stuff! We have received many emails regarding the case we featured at the Sandtroopers.com bunker at the Chicagoland Entertainment Collector’s Expo a couple weeks back. I have just gotten word Wholesalecases.com has finally received the restock they have been waiting for. For all of you loose collectors out there, this is perhaps one of the best ways you could display your favorite figures. Features mirrored background, Plexiglas cover and holes for easy wall mounting. This item sells for $28.95 and the price drops a bit if larger quantities are ordered.

Sandtrooper SoCal Dom Reports:
One of SoCal's Finest!“It has been a few months since I last posted, but I have had some good luck lately. First, I wanted to shout out to Trooper Dead Hero for the recent trade. I also wanted to thank Trooper Sithryan for the latest hookup - get well soon! And of course Darth Spice for the totally unexpected treat I received in addition to the trade we agreed on. You are the man! As for my recent luck, I have come across Commanders Gree and Bly at my local Murrieta Wal-Mart along with a Wookie Warrior and Neimoidian Commander. I am not sure if the first 6 of the last 12 have all been released, but it would seem fitting since I found the Neimoidian Commander. Not much else, there were black Clone Pilots, Obi pilots, and lots and lots of Clone Troopers. Keep an eye out. These are the first basic figures I have bought since July. Good to see new things out there.”

Sandtrooper Darth Pharaoh Reports:
Goes down Souf!“DarthPharaoh checking in. Found a couple of new figs at Wally World this morning. Cat Miin and Wookiee Commando but that was it. Nice surprise though since my area is usually 4 weeks or so behind the rest of the U.S. Picked up the Jedi Temple Assault pack in the last week as well. Nothing newer than the Tie Fighter in the way of Target exclusives, and has anyone seen the Clone Attack on Coruscant Battle Pack yet? Why is it not out with the rest? Well, I’ll be scouring this weekend, good luck fellow troopers. Death to all scalpers!”

Area Report: The Commanders are in the vicinity General!
Puttin' the foot to the Scalpin' Slime! It’s been pretty hectic near the pegs in the Lake County, IL area. Target has been heavily stocked of late with Evolutions Stormtrooper, a wide variety of deluxe figures and the new way over priced TIE Fighter. I still would like to see some of the many unmade prequel vehicles before seeing another TIE but you take what you can get. The figures are hitting, Sandtrooper Jason a.k.a. Dead Hero reported finding figures #57-63 at the Antioch, IL Super Wal-Mart last night. I believe he said he picked up a set for trade. I’ve searched high and low but have yet to find the Jedi Temple Assault pack at any of the area Kmart stores. This is one you just have to hope starts showing up by the caseload. Hopefully you Troopers are having the same luck and the fuel prices are beginning to drop so fueling up the Dewback can actually be near affordable. Good luck to you Troopers in your neck of the woods, drop us a line and let us know what your latest run produced. United We Find!

Sandtrooper Master Frank Reports: It will be Done my Lord!
“Hey Troops, good news to report from the California Central Coast! Order 66 is being carried out over here, as I found both Commander Gree and Commander Bly at the local Wal-Mart this morning. No word on and I didn't see any of the other characters/figures. On another note, the pegs have the new price of $4.77, but when scanned these to Commanders came up at $5.88. Not sure what the deal is, but they adjusted the sale at the Guest Service counter. Both Target and Kmart had nothing new. Good luck and this appears to be the week for the latest wave!”

Force of the Bay: The Empire Strikes your Wallet!
If you have been frustrated with not finding anything in stores, remember you can always go back in time to the golden age of Star Wars collecting and discover something from your crooked past. For the record, I don’t think everything you see is authentic, but it sure is nice to look around at the things you hope someday to check off your lists. You may have to get a security team to surround your bunker if you were to add some of the artifacts that literally litter the bay. I have really enjoyed digging up some of the more rare items from the Empire Strikes back. You might have had better luck finding heat on Hoth vs. turning up one of these on a shelf. There is simply more than anyone’s wallet could stand. Any package variation, foreign exclusive, and its all there. Don’t get soft and think you’ll never find it. It doesn’t matter if you wore it twenty-five years ago or you needed something to stand out in the crowd. It’s all for the taking, and like Kamino, much depends on the size of your pocketbook. Remember Sandtroopers.com neither endorses or authenticates any of the items featured here. Good luck to you Troopers in your searches, Kick A#$ and take names!

Five New LEGO Sets Coming in Early 2006
Five New LEGO Sets Coming in Early 2006There's some great news for all the LEGO fans out there. The Official Site recently announced that LEGO will soon be releasing five new Star Wars LEGO sets, which include Slave I, A-wing, B-wing, V-wing and TIE Interceptor. The only true new set of these is the V-wing, whereas the others are just totally updated with new designs and/or paint jobs. That doesn't mean these aren't worth picking up, but it sure would be nice if LEGO would come up with some new designs, instead of going the re-hashed route as another manufacturer of Star Wars toys (you know who I'm referring to). These are expected to be released early next year. Check out all the photos of these new sets here.

Dewback Patrol: Saturday & Sunday Expanded Coverage
Ready, Aim, FIRE!It was one hell of a weekend at the Chicagoland Entertainment Collectors Expo. I’ve just had a chance to summarize our trip. There were many highlights and we’re still recovering from Saturday night’s post charity dinner bash! I’d like to thank Paul and Dianne from the CECE, Jim and Beth at Federation Toys, the Midwest Garrison, Dennis at Wholesalecases.com, and especially my wife and children who also attended and helped out at the ST.com booth. Your patience, undying love and support are greatly appreciated. I’d also like to thank my one-two punch dustrho and Sandtrooper Dan. It was a pleasure to see you gentlemen showcase your talents, while the boss got the thrill of "being a real-life Sandtrooper"! It was a great weekend, check out my summary of the event and stay tuned to the Dewback Patrol for many more adventures from ST.com.

Now Hiring: Lucasfilm Looking for Screenwriters
Now Hiring: Lucasfilm Looking for ScreenwritersThe journey has begun for Lucasfilm, who has reportedly started their search for screenwriters for the planned TV series. The show is expected to run at least fifty hours, will involve a combination of live-action filming and CGI special effects, and should start filming sometime in 2007 in Australia. Of course no one has any idea as to what the show will be about, but it sure is nice knowing that Star Wars isn't ending anytime soon. Read more about this here.

    Sandtrooper Darth Pharoah Reports:
“DarthPharaoh with a couple finds the last few days. I’ve seen all the non-clone Battle Packs out now in the Atlanta area. I’ve also finally found the elusive Mustafar Sentry at my local Target in Lawrenceville. Picked up an extra for trade too if you’re still looking. Also found a K-Mart around here with a bunch of POTC figures including a dozen or so Pablo Jill’s. I picked up a couple for trades if anyone needs one. They have a bit of shelf ware but nothing too bad. They also had a couple Rabe, Sly Moore and Yarua so if you need any of those let me know and we can work something out. I’m going to post my trade needs in the forum shortly. I’m out...Death to all scalpers!”

    Sandtrooper Darth Vegas Reports:
“Hey Sandtroopers, the Visionaries book from Dark Horse is a winner. The drawings and paintings will blow your mind. I really liked the story of General Grievous. It's a great addition. That little remote R2-D2 from Japan is a neat little dude! If you like R2 you got to add this one to your bag. All those Christmas figures are sort of corny so the Vader in red trim fits right in. Our Dark Lord is the main reason I collect Star Wars. This just adds to the enjoyment. They have that Special Ops Trooper coming out in a couple of months in the silver camo trim that's pretty trick. I'm glad to see the new figures come out. The racks have been real slow for quite awhile. I did pick up a Blue Senate Guard just hanging there. That's it for the western sector. Sandtroopers Rule!”

Other than that the stores in the area are a joke, speaking of jokes the Holiday Vader? Are you kidding me? I am a Vader collector but this thing reminds me of the lava Vader. Sandwatch: Image Guides Updated
Leia in Boushh Disguise BustFellow staff member Boba Binks has brought to us a couple updates to the Image Guides section. First up is the Princess Leia in Boushh Disguise bust. The likeness to Carrie Fisher is dead on with this stunning bust created by Gentle Giant. This particular bust comes with two different sculpted heads, one with the bounty hunter helmet on her head, and the other with her helmet off.

C-3PO StatueNext up is another incredibly detailed and accurate statue from Gentle Giant, which happens to be R2-D2's best friend... C-3PO. When you take a close look at this statue, you could swear that Anakin Skywalker built this particular piece with his bare hands, because it looks that good. I'm very much looking forward to seeing what Gentle Giant will produce next for us.

Update from Star Wars Shop.com: Holiday Edition Darth Vader!
This Exclusive Edition has a red metallic finish (not vac-metallized, as previously reported), and would make a standout addition to the silver series figures released in recent years. Also, with the color red so closely associated with the Sith (lightsabers, royal guards, Darth Maul), this red Vader represents a rare but fitting diversion from the man in black's iconic dark décor. But for those who prefer to keep their scarlet Darth in the holiday spirit year-round, this figure makes a fantastic presentation piece both on and off the card. Displayed loose on the base, Vader fits perfectly alongside the previous holiday edition figures. On the card, however, is where this vermillion Vader really shines.

The classic Original Trilogy Collection-style card not only features the standard metallic wrap-around logo (showcased for the first time in red), but also depicts a Ralph McQuarrie-inspired backdrop of the Executor bridge decked out in holiday décor. Additionally, a figure-exclusive holiday greeting card is also included, this time illustrated with a whimsical scene of Vader building a "snowtrooper".

The reverse of the cardback calls out the fact that this figure is a StarWarsShop exclusive, and will be sent securely in a StarWarsShop-branded Star Case. This 2005 edition is limited, so make sure you pick one, two, or three up for yourself and those on your gift list this year!"

Take a look for yourself. He's $14.99 and ships December 9. I ordered one only because this figure is totally weird looking. You've got to check him out just go to StarWarsShop.com.

"Revenge of the Sith" Helps Boost Summer Movie Sales
Revenge of the SithEven though movie ticket sales have been on a continuous decline since the Summer of 2002, movies like Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, have been one of the few films to help keep movie theaters from going out of business. Revenge of the Sith brought in approximately $380 million between the months of May and August, while other films like War of the Worlds, Batman Begins and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory also contributed to helping out ticket sales. Not one of the top ten films this summer came anywhere close to making the amount of money that ROTS brought in. These days more and more people are either watching television and/or DVDs in the comforts of their own homes, but to me it's still a lot of fun going out to watch a good movie once in a while. Read more about the decline in Summer movie sales here.

Sandtrooper starfox Reporting:"Some more good news from Central Texas today! Target in Killeen has the new Star Cases, Large Wing TIE Fighter, Wookiee Flyers, Clone & Sith Evolutions and some Battlepacks, but still no new figures past #44 in several months now! Both local Wal-Marts have received numerous cases of Clone Trooper & Sith Evolution sets, but some look like the boxes went through a train wreck, all bent up and crushed. Still no new regular figures in three weeks now. K-Mart had the 501st Clone Battlepacks, but they were gone right after being put on the shelf, or so that's what I've heard. Plenty of the Throne Room packs left. TRU still has no basic figures past the originals released on April 2nd, but they still have some of the Asaaj Unleashed wave left, plus Wookiee Flyers and other odds and ends! That's pretty much all from Central Texas for now. BTW, I am looking for a Troy Aikman NFL Legends figure in the blue jersey, any help obtaining this would be appreciated. Thanks Troopers, starfox signing out!"

Visual Guides Update: Gentle Giant Han Solo Bust
Visual Guides Update: Gentle Giant Han Solo BustOur Gentle Giant Busts visual guide page has been updated again, thanks to the excellent work done by fellow staff member Boba Binks. The latest addition to the guide is Gentle Giant's Han Solo bust. This bust looks very much like Han Solo from Star Wars: A New Hope, and I think it's one of the best human busts Gentle Giant has done so far. Check out the picture of it and all the other busts for yourself over here.

Super-D Toys Have Their "Revenge" at Burger King
Super-D Toys Have Their Revenge at Burger KingComing back to Burger King are the Super-D toys that were hot sellers back in April. This time there will be four new categories of these (four toys in each category), which include Cosmic Cruisers, Shadow Casters, Galactic Spinners and Jedi Wisdom. A total of seventeen new toys will be available from November 7 through December 11. Wait a minute, didn't I just say there were four toys per category? Well, I did, and the reason why there are seventeen toys instead of the sixteen described above, is that there will be a Darth Vader chase figure! This figure will come with a sound chip, and is expected to be much harder to track down this time.

Also coming out during that timeframe are "Have it Your Way" Destiny watches. These watches have a laser hologram that sports two different images, and you can view these by flipping up the watch's face. These will come in their own collectible tin with stylized embossed imagery and one of six titles from the Star Wars saga. Read more about this here.

    Sandtrooper Dead Hero Reports:
Who's Dead?“Troops, I found worthy items two days in a row at the Quarry shopping center in LaGrange, IL (Hodgkins/Countryside). Yesterday, Wal-Mart had AT-RT drivers (white eye mask corrected version) and rehash number 28 Anakin with red eyes. Today, Target had two new TIE Fighters and I have to thank Trooper Jimmy B. at my work that grabbed one for me and was waiting at the door when I came in! Wal-Mart had number 6 Shock Trooper (4), so Jimmy grabbed two and I intercepted two for friend Darth Spice. A very good two days in the middle of the week, so keep 'on Target' for the TIEs (too bad the pilot was the non-articulated version). That's all for now Troops!”

    Sandtrooper Darth Pharoah Reports:
Goes down Souf!“DarthPharaoh checking in from just north of Hotlanta. It’s been a steady week of some new arrivals and almost everyone has been in on it. Here’s what I’ve found. Wally World had the new wave of Titanium vehicles except for the new X-wing. KB Toys had clone repaints and AT-RT Driver, TRU had the Sith Evolution pack (STILL no Obi-Wan Starfighter though) and finally Target had the collector cases AND the Target exclusive Tie Fighter. Which I swore I wouldn’t buy at 39.99 but my mental collector side beat up my mental frugal side and I forked it over. Also want to give delayed but big thumbs up to Jedi So Cal Dom for a trade a couple weeks ago! I’m out...Death to all scalpers!

Update 9-13: DarthPharaoh with just a quick report from the Atlanta area. On my way home yesterday I made a quick run by the TRU in Duluth and found the Hoth Battlepack! Hadn't seen anyone report these yet so they`re showing up! United we find and Death to all scalpers!”

Sandtrooper Scott Reports: Yak to Attack the Aftermath of Katrina
My friends in the Star Wars collecting community. My name is Scott Chapman and I write for Yakface.com. Anyone who knows me well enough knows that no one walking the planet is a bigger fan of Master Replicas products than I am, with over thirteen replicas, they make up the proudest portion of my collection. Though I may not be able to afford every replica, my love for them is undying and absolute. That's what I hope makes my sacrifice all the more meaningful. I have decided to place one of my beloved saber replicas up for auction on Ebay. Specifically my Mace Windu Limited Edition Lightsaber. The purpose being to send 100% of the proceeds to the Red Cross to aid in their efforts assisting the victims of Hurricane Katrina. I will also foot the cost for shipping, insurance and delivery confirmation.

I look around my room and see all the cool trinkets and collectibles on my shelves and feel empty when a tragedy of this magnitude has occurred. I think of the short-term pleasure I get versus the long-term support it can give to someone in need. Finally, I would appeal to each and every one of you, take a look around your collection, I guarantee that all of you have at least ONE item you would be willing to part with to help someone in need. Sure it might poke a hole in your collection, but as the years pass, you'll look at that hole and realize it's not really empty; it's filled with your compassion. Hopefully what we're doing will help someone in need.

Truly admirable and selfless. Who needs a new Master Replicas Mace Saber? Go get it Troops!

Sandtrooper Mike Reports: "Darth Spice, we've found the Plans"
After 2 years of the original DSP website closing down, Mike a.k.a. DeathStarDroid has decided to bring it back. He decided to create a new name but at the same time bring back the old DSP look and feel. He came up with the ideal for a sequel to his first website. Deathstarplans2.com, simple but effective The new site is still under construction but you can bet he will built it as fast as the Imperials reconstructed the 2nd Death Star in ROTJ. This time the site has been completely overhauled from it's previous version and will have less clicking to get to a particular figure's page now. Some of the features include a new set of forums, chatroom, mini toy guide, the return of the DSP Talk Shows and the original team of mods and friends that never wanted the site to close in the first place among many more ideas still in the works. The Trash Compactor section is still there on the forums where members can discuss anything as long as it is legal with no heavy moderatorship. And yes, this is also the home for POTP Check out Deathstarplans2.com today!

Not much in the way of figures. Target has 2 TIE Fighter + Pilots for $39.99 and the new 5-packs of protective cases. I think I will stick with the Star Wars.com cases. Not much in the way of figures. Kmart…. Figure pegs pretty much empty, as is most of the shelves… No sign of the new Unleashed, figures 51~56 since initial release, or any other exclusive items from any of the stores. Anthony Daniels Forced to Play Role of C-3PO?
Anthony Daniels Forced to Play Role of C-3PO?Anthony Daniels was recently interviewed by Cleveland's "The Plain Dealer" media company, and he told them that his agent had forced him to play the role of C-3PO in Star Wars. Daniels might not have wanted to play that role, which probably sounded ridiculous at the time, but looking back I'm sure he is quite happy of the decision he was "Forced" to make. C-3PO is one of the few characters, aside from his loyal companion R2-D2, to have made an appearance in all six Star Wars films. Daniels also mentioned how he didn't enjoy wearing the costume in the original Star Wars film. "Tight, hot, cold. Windswept, full of grains of sand. Claustrophobic. Painful, stabbing. A lot of people think I was not actually there, that the suit does it all." Read more about this here.

    Happy Labor Day:
Back them Stripes, don't sell them out! With great pride we celebrate Labor Day. Take time out to hit a local parade, invite some family over for a cook out or just relax and enjoy a day off. Yes it’s a bit strange to celebrate work by taking a day off, these days I’ll take any day off I can get! We’d like to say a prayer for the people down south who are suffering the after-effects of Katrina. Hopefully help is being dispersed in a more efficient manner and things can get back to normal A.S.A.P.! We can also never forget the real Troopers serving overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan. We will keep you in our thoughts as you stay the course and successfully complete your mission. We can only hope for stability in the region that will bring about peace. Good luck and God Bless. Happy Labor Day Troopers!

“Hi gang. This is Izzy-Yoda. I lived in Lake Catherine, Louisiana, which is, was in New Orleans east. All my stuff including my house was totally destroyed in hurricane Katrina. I could not take much except for some clothes, my truck, which is leaking transmission fluid now and my R2-D2 robot. I lost my whole collection of every star wars figure made for the last 13 years. I did not grab my instructions for my R2-D2 robot. If anybody out there has one please e-mail the commands page. I am totally at a loss about my collection and other personal stuff. Please wish us luck or say a prayer for us if you think about it.”

    Sandtrooper dustrho Reporting:
Hey Troopers! I was out running some errands and had a chance to make a couple mini toy runs this morning. I first stopped at the Wal-Mart on Route 59 in Plainfield, and they had some decent Star Wars items. They had about ten 500th Vader sets, lots of the newer wave of Force Battlers, new Attacktix (including the new Republic Gunship), and tons of the newest wave of Galactic Hereoes figures. The only things I bought there were a #41 Clone Trooper and an AT-TE Driver (both will be used for customizing work). The next place I stopped was the Target just across the street. They also had a bunch of the 500th Vader sets, a couple of the Mustafar playsets, and a few ROTS vehicles (Droid Tri-Fighter, Obi-Wan Kenobi's Jedi Starfighter, and the Wookiee helicopter). I was shocked to have seen for the very first time one of the newest Unleashed figures, which happened to be Asajj Ventress, but I left it since my Unleashed collection is complete. Wal-Mart- mostly nothing new, they do have some red Shock Troopers, green Commanders, black Pilots, and some blue Clone three -packs. Target- nothing new as of lately. Kmart- found Jedi Temple Assault and Throne Room battle packs all gone now and 6 500th Vader. If there are any fellow troopers that still are looking for some of this stuff, let me know and I'll see if I can help you out. Also tried using Targets stock DCPI numbers for their Coruscant battlepack and exclusive trooper and they came up not in their system. HothChad Out!”

Force of the Bay: Years Gone by, I'd say we've Kicked some A%$!
For years we have dared to purge the jewels of the bay for the benefit of our respective Star Wars collections, but for some this battle will never end. You can find any piece of your history endlessly frozen in time, are you ready to take that shot and become the new owner? For some it may be acquiring that final piece you need to keep up the good fight. For others it might only be the beginning. You have to remember it’s only worth as much as another collector will give you for it, but that doesn’t hold most back. We all know what time it is around here, stay tuned it to S.C.A.L.P. Central for round the clock updates. No matter if it’s unforgiving cold steel or a wretched hive of scum and villainy you can be certain it is for the bidding at Ebay. No matter if you need some new company or would rather own a figure than have passage to the Alderaan system, find that lost treasure on the bay. Guaranteed cheaper than driving around looking for it these days! Remember Sandtroopers.com neither endorses nor authenticates any of the items featured here. Sandtrooper Jon Reports:
S.C.A.L.P. Elite Forces“Hi Troops. I've been getting my behind kicked at work, so I haven't made a toy run in a few weeks. I was surfing Wal-Mart.com in an attempt to catch up and did find a few new editions this morning. Both the Evolution Action Figures Clone Trooper to Stormtrooper and Sith Lords three packs are now in stock as of 9:15 EDT. Yes! I've been waiting for the Sandtrooper in that three pack. My hope is to head out and score a Target TIE Fighter this weekend. To all the troops in the Star Wars universe along with those military personnel here and abroad, have a good Holiday Weekend. -Trooper Jon out.”

    Sandtrooper Central IL TK Reports:
“Hey Troopers not much new to report in the central IL area. Nothing new at both area Wal-Mart’s, Target had the newest figs with cups (they were hidden behind some fantastic 4 stuff that hasn't moved all summer. Luckily I happened to notice them, as I was ready to leave. Kmart had nothing and what little they had was way over priced and damaged. Then the big score Toys R Us had their exclusive Hoth Assault battle pack. They had 6 in stock I bought 2 one to keep and one to trade. (Hopefully for a Kmart temple assault) Lot of scalpers in the area. So I usually have to make the rounds 2-3 times a week otherwise it’s gone straight to ebay.”

As most of you are already know, Wal-Mart has been running this Early Bird Figure Pack exclusive, and Hasbro has recently announced that the figures for this set are scheduled to ship some time in November. In order to receive these figures, customers were to have already purchased the Early Bird kit, and their Redemption Certificates were to have been mailed prior to November 30. If you haven't purchased the kit you may do so by heading over to Wal-Mart.com. The figures included in this kit are Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Chewbacca and R2-D2.

Almost Here: Exclusive Target Collector's Cases
Exclusive Target Collector's CasesHasbro has recently announced that their re-designed Collector's Case five-pack will be available for purchase on September 4th. These are a Target exclusive, and we can only hope that your Revenge of the Sith carded figures will fit in these this time. Last time these were sold at Target in May, but unfortunately you weren't able to fit your ROTS carded figures in them, unless you wanted to bend the top portion of your card (which of course wasn't an option). These were quickly removed from store shelves because of this error, and many wondered how these could get by Hasbro's quality assurance department without being recognized as a problem. We can only cross our fingers that this design error was resolved. Read the full story about this here.
