Sandtrooper Gerald Reports: Obi-Wan Kenobi Street?
Tessek having a blast! Some news for you. I don't know if you're aware that I was at a convention in Poland recently - the first Polish convention ever to have Star Wars actor guests. It was a stunning success, and ended with a visit to the first street in the world to be named after a Star Wars character - Obi-Wan Kenobi Street! Photos from the visit have appeared all around the world, but not many U.S. sites have posted pix yet, so I thought you might be interested. In fact, your affiliate The Private Universe did a report (with photos) this week. There are also 2 pages of photos on my website - posted by another of your affiliates, my webmaster Matt Glasgow in New Zealand! To see them, click onto the last 2 thumbnails in the gallery. Thanks again and great to see all you Troopers a couple months back at CIV! United We Find!

Force of the Bay: Run for Cover!
It seems like such a long time ago when I first began writing this column for sandtroopers.com. While it was one of my first duties, it has always been one I’ve really enjoyed. Most of you know how much I love a great party. You can bet I’d be sure to put out some good reading, throw down some great music and of course offer a import six-pack to all my guests. The items that are scattered throughout Ebay can be steaming hot, so please make sure you research your sellers to avoid the burn. You never know when someone could be throwing up a cheesy disguise in an attempt to take you for a ride. Hopefully you won’t have to initiate any bounties of your own, but if you do you can find nearly anything to assist you in doing so. It’s better however to simply enjoy the ride, browse and have fun looking at the prize instead of pursuing it with reckless abandon. Remember Sandtroopers.com neither endorses nor authenticates any of the items featured here. Good luck to you Troops in your searches, Kick A#$ and take names!

Gentle Giant Animated B&W Luke Skywalker Pilot Maquette
Adding on to what seemed to be a never ending list of exclusives in 2007, Gentle Giant offered yet another one of their previously released Animated OT maquettes sporting their now well known monochromatic Black & White colors. Luke Skywalker as Snowspeeder pilot became, like a few others before him, an exclusive for the Blister store in Japan. While half of its edition size was available only to the Japanese market, the remaining half was raffled off in June to worldwide GG's Guild members.

Read the review and check out the detailed images of Gentle Giant's fifth Black and White Maquette. Enjoy!

Ralph McQuarrie Guide Updated with SDCC Exclusive
Ralph McQuarrie Guide Updated with SDCC ExclusiveThe Ralph McQuarrie guide has been udpated tonight by Boba Binks, with new images of the San Diego Comic Con 2007 exclusive Obi-Wan and Yoda two-pack. It's hard to imagine either of the two conceptual characters in the films, as the final versions are perfect just the way they are. Yoda really wasn't all the different between the two, but the Obi-Wan characters are totally different from one another. I'm glad George Lucas chose to go with Sir Alec Guinness' image for the role of Obi-Wan, and I'm sure all the troopers here couldn't agree with me more.

Collection Gallery: New Collection Added!
704Scorch's CollectionThe Collection Gallery has yet another addition, thanks to the submission from 704Scorch. Although he may not have the biggest collection in the galaxy, he does have some unique items. I particulary like the Priority Mail box that is covered in Star Wars stamps. I'm not sure who shipped him that box, but I thought it was extremely cool that someone did that! From ROTS figures to comic books to Hallmark ornaments to Galactic Heroes figures, he has a little bit of everything. Check out his collection here and leave your feedback about his collection over in the forums.

Sandwatch Guides: Target Slave I
Sandwatch Guides: Target Slave IBoba Fett was the number one bounty hunter in the entire galaxy. He had the coolest looking armor, the most vicious weaponry, and one of the most intimidating voices of all the Star Wars characters. He also had the coolest ship, the Slave I. Loaded to the brim with all sorts of weapons and gadgets, this ship was re-tooled into a Target Exclusive during the Original Trilogy Collection days. The packaging looked great as you had a clear view of the beautifully painted ship, and getting another Boba Fett figure was also a nice touch (even though he doesn't come with the rocket pack). If you missed out on it, off to the Bay you go. Check out Boba Fett's sweet ride here, and make sure you share your comments about it the forums.

Sandtrooper Steve Reports: More ground assault Aftermath!
“I would just like to thank you again for making my son's life "complete" on Friday at Wizard World Chicago. He is a HUGE Star Wars fan and was sky high just being able to meet the people dressed so elaborately... He kept wanting to go back and visit your bunker all day but I told him we would start to look like stalkers so we would visit all the other booths first. Then, when you announced his ticket over the speaker, I thought he would pee his pants he was soooooo excited! The "march" to meet Mr. Wangler was pure heaven for him..... he has told the story to everyone at least twice! This being our first time at the convention, we didn't know what to expect but now he knows for sure that he will be "dressing up" for the occasion next year.”

Sandtrooper Darth2525 Reports:
“Darth2525 here from Central Wisconsin. It has been months since I posted on my favorite Star Wars website. The stores around here are so full of 2006 figures that they rarely get in anything new. The funny thing about this is that in 2006 they rarely had the 2006 figures, then around February the pegs are filled with them after I didn’t need any. I have been able to find all 3 of the first waves, but except for peg warmers like Mace and R2, they don’t hang around long, especially the McQuarrie’s which seem to find there way into stockers hands before they hit the pegs, I imagine the same will hold true with the UGH gold coins. On one positive note, I did find some SAGA Legends today at the Wal-Mart in Wisconsin Rapids. I purchased the Sand Trooper of coarse, but left all the others.”

Sail Away on the Darkside:
Complete with Hi-Fi Stereo!Yesterday marked the 10th annual Great Cardboard Boat Race held in Lunenburg Massachusetts on Whalom Lake. This family event gets the creative minds flowing on how to build a boat, race it, and try not to take on water. The Lutter family of Lunenburg got the biggest reaction of all with their boat replica of an Imperial Star Destroyer. The boat took 60 hours to complete and 25 sheets of cardboard and also had a built in stereo system that played the Star Wars theme music while on the water. Check out the story to see if the Imperial Star Destroyer made it the finish line.

“Hello again fellow Sandtroopers, I just wanted to let everyone know I was in the Wal-Mart super center in Fishkill, N.Y. on 8/3/07 and ran across a fresh case of wave 3 comic packs and scored a Leia/Vader pack since these are the only ones that really looked any good, in my opinion. Vader is totally awesome with the removable helmet revealing an unburned Anakin head and the comic was as equally awesome. These are 2 sets to a case, but the Luke/Mara jade figures looked like crap as did the Darkwomen/Sandperson disguised figures these will be definite peg warmers I'd guess! Well till next time United We Find!”

Sandwatch Guides: Now there are TWO of them!
Sandwatch Guides: Gentle Giant Bust UpdateThe Gentle Giant Busts guide has been updated today with two of the latest and greatest with Commander Bly. With Celebration Europe and the celebration of the 30th who is a better choice? All kidding aside you can bet there were more than a few who had made the trek to Forbidden Planet in the U.K. for what is one of the better looking Clone busts in the line. It's pretty easy to see why they were lined up for blocks!

Sandwatch Guides: Gentle Giant Bust UpdateThe second update for this evening comes courtesy of the Action Figure Express Exclusive Coruscant Clone Trooper. The likeness on this one is off the charts and I think most collectors will be quite happy if they're able to obtain it! In the meantime enjoy the work supplied by Boba Binks for the latest updates. Thanks again to our sponsor Andrew's Toyz for their assistance and contribution to this guide. United We Find!
