Update to Customs Pages: We shall NOT wait!
You have failed me for the LAST TIME!Trooper Todd Weiler was another who decided it was time to execute the order without waiting for the Big H to come through. With the help of Sandtroopers.com forum members he created some of his most desired characters on his own! Our S.C.A.L.P. Weapons Supplier dustrho has created a page for all of his future work. Thanks to everyone in there for helping out.

Skoolin' wiff the ScholarOur second update is from Jedi Scholar_8. Why wait for Hasbro when you can make them yourself? It's pretty amazing to see how this section has caught fire and many are beginning to show us what they can really do. Pat was one of the first to have a page of his customs and he has really impressed us with some of his creations. Keep up the great work Troopers, if they won't make it, make it yourself!

Update from the Chicagoland Entertainment Collector's Expo!
The time is quickly closing in for the Chicagoland Entertainment Collector’s Expo. We are planning to spend the weekend checking out what is being called the largest Star Wars show of the summer, in the Midwest. We have word that C. Andrew Nelson will be at the show signing autographs. He played Darth Vader in the added footage in the Original Trilogy, and appeared as Vader in many ads for Lucasfilm over the years. This is his first ever convention appearance. He will join Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, Ray Park, Daniel Logan, Paul Blake, Mary Oyaya, Orli Shoshan, along with many other guests from TV and film. There will be a Charity Breakfast and a Dinner that the celebrities will be attending as well as many other events planned for the show over the weekend. I hope to be down for the majority of the show and am looking forward to seeing some of you Troopers!

A moment of Silence:
With the real Lord nowToday is a sad day for Star Wars fans, Michael Sheard who played Admiral Ozzel in the Empire Strikes Back passed away. I had the delight of interviewing him a couple of years ago and it was an experience I'll never forget. I also had a chance to bump into him again at CIII this past April where I had him sign my Admiral Ozzel figure, which now I'll truly cherish. Thanks again for coming out of hyperspace too fast, I think you had a splendid plan Sir! Check out the story at BBC News.

Sandtrooper Jorge Reports:
“Hello everyone! I have a few findings in the Boston, Massachusetts area. Did a run on the weekend and found: Kmart: Jedi Temple Battle pack (bought) and Emperor's room battle pack (passed, repack). AT-TE Gunner, Bacara. TRU Medford. One lone Black clone pilot. Kohls Medford: Damage Anakin. TRU Woburn: Obi-wan pilot and green Clone Commander. Jedi council scenes #2 are now $10 at TRU. I have up for trade: Target Clone, Battle damage Anakin, Bacara, AT-TE gunner, Obi-wan pilot and green and red Clone Commander. I’m looking for Tarkin, Ask, Meela and the Mustafar Sentry and any newer figures. Prefer to meet and trade here in the Boston area. If no trade is found, will sell at cost plus shipping within US. Thanks! MTFBWY.”

Sandtrooper Darth Pharoah Reports:
Goes down Souf!“DarthPharaoh reporting in with some reports from just north of Atlanta. On my way home from work I made a couple stops and found the following. Target in Duluth had the Clone Trooper evolution pack that a helpful stocker told me he’d found hidden behind some Barbie toys 2 rows over and the Vader wave of cups (which I don’t collect). The TRU in the same area had the # 28 Anakin with Sith eyes but no Obi Starfighter yet. Nothing new at Wally World. The 500th figure Vaders and Wookiee Flyers are warming shelves everywhere now as well. My "get rid of your Star Wars crap" wife has again come through for me, and picked me up the new wave of Star Tours figures for me on her current trip to Orlando. I think I’ve finally broken her!! LOL. No Mickey/Yoda sets to be found though. Well, that’s it for now. I’m out, and as always... Death to all scalpers!”

New Star Wars Packaging Revealed!
New Packaging Revealed! The Official Site has recently announced the new look for Star Wars packaging for the year 2006. Here is a brief description of the change in the packaging scheme: The new design builds on familiar elements from the '05 collection, such as the prominence of Darth Vader -- the character whose redemption is now clearly at the heart of the saga. Gone is the lava and orange hue, replaced with a more timeless silver lettering and planetary view. Read the full story here.

New Screenshots of "Star Wars Galaxies: Trials of Obi-Wan"
Star Wars Galaxies: Trials of Obi-WanThe recent announcement by LucasArts of the upcoming expansion pack called "Star Wars Galaxies: Trials of Obi-Wan," has excited many addicts of the popular PC game. Luckily for you there are twenty-five new screenshots for your viewing pleasure. It looks like you'll be facing a wide variety of beasts, some of which I've never seen before. A brief description of the game includes the following:

"Obi-Wan guides players on quests that span the planet Mustafar – some of which might even convert devotees of the dark side over to a more virtuous path. This expansion features many new high-level quest rewards, including the ability to find a fiery red crystal found only on the volcanic planet that creates a lava-like lightsaber for the lucky owner. Players who fulfill all of Obi-Wan’s directives will also receive a rich reward."

If you haven't done so already, you can read the full press release here. You will have to a computer with "Star Wars Galaxies" already installed on it in order to play this new expansion pack. The game is expected to be released on November 1, the very same day that "Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith" comes out on DVD and also when "Star Wars: Battlefront II" comes out to the different gaming consoles. So much Star Wars and so little time.

Sandtrooper Boba Bix Reports:
“I went on a shopping run today to a few stores in the Mission Valley area of Sand Diego.

Kmart: “I found one each of the Jedi Assault and Throne Room battle packs at a Sears Essentials (new Kmart and Sears combo), but I only bought the Jedi Assault. For those looking for this, the item number from Hasbro of 85838/85837 did not help me when calling Kmart. Instead they needed a UPC code, so here it is: 0653569089711

Target: “Nothing new here, except many Darth Vader and Asajj Ventriss Unleashed, but all of the packages appeared very damaged and bent around the edges.

Toys-R-Us: “Surprisingly, TRU had lots of stuff today. 5 Hoth battlepacks, figures 48-50, and 55-56 (Lots of CDR Bacara), all the new unleashed figures, some partly damged. They had 500th vaders, wookie flyers, and 1 BARC speeder, as well as the Build your own lightsaber kit. Lastly, they had TONS of regular white #6 clone troopers, so for all the army builders out there, enjoy. Have fun out there Troopers, and now time to go order the new special clone trooper form StarWarsShop.com!”

“Hello Troopers. I went to the K-Mart in Collinsville, IL today and found one Jedi Temple Assault and three Imperial Throne Room Battle Pack. I bought the lone Jedi Temple Assault set. The K-Mart in Fairview Heights had nothing of interest. I have found nothing else in the greater St. Louis area. Happy hunting, Troopers.”

Sandtrooper dustrho Reporting In!
Hey Troopers! I was able to make a couple runs over the weekend, and was somewhat successful in finding some new things (well, not necessarily "new" but different items that aren't normally flooding the pegs). Over at the Wal-Mart on Route 59 were several #11 Darth Vaders, #7 R2-D2s, #49 Commander Bacaras, and of course a buttload of #42 Neimoidian Warriors. I was shocked at how many Bacaras were on the pegs... I must have counted almost ten of them there. They also had one Clone Trooper 3-pack with the green variation figure, but I decided to pass on that. They still had a bunch of Attactix figures that seem to not be selling too well there. I was lucky enough to find two of the M&M Mpire figure sets that I needed to complete my collection, and they had just about all of them there in decent numbers. The cards weren't in the best shape, but that didn't matter to me since I open these up anyway.

At the Target on Diehl Road in Warrenville there were a few 500th Vaders sitting on the shelf, but they were in pretty bad shape and only someone who wanted to open them up would buy them. There were of course the Neimoidian Warriors clogging the pegs, but there were quite a number of #15 Bail Organas, #24 Mon Mothmas, and a few #51 Captain Antilles. The overall size of the Star Wars section at this Target (and others) has dramatically gone down in size, which is quite depressing. Hopefully some of this stuff will go on clearance, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

United We Find!

Sandtrooper Darth Vegas Reports: Retail chains seem to be Crappin' Out!
If you roll with ST, you're guaranteed 7 or 11 EVERYTIME!“Hey Troopers, Darth Vegas here with news from the Southwestern sector. Tons upon tons of Star Wars collectibles have been moving through this area for a long time now and it blows me away that the only sections that can't be kept stocked up are the Star Wars displays. It would be in the stores best interest to keep a separate SW section and keep it stocked to the hilt at all times. All the other areas like Batman and fantastic 4 are always full because no one is buying them or at least not at the SW rate. For a silly Saturday matinee movie it sure kicks a#$ after 28 years or so. After 28 years the merchandising end of things should be rock solid, but they still can't keep a handle on things. Sorry for the rant, I just enjoy the heck out of Star Wars and all things related. I just received my 13" Kotobukiya Darth Vader and he looks great next to my Gentle Giant Darth Vader. They are both unbelievably beautiful. Long Live our Dark Lord!”

“I have a question concerning the AT-RT Driver and was wondering if you could help me. Which is the variant? Is it the all tan or the half-white? If you could help it would be much appreciated, thanks Troopers!”
INKEDBLACK@aol.com

I'd have to say it's the newer half-white mask due to the fact I'd consider this to be the "corrected" version and more accurate to the film. Both are probably worth the same amount of money.

Sandtrooper Freddie Reports:
“First time sending any news in but have been a faithful reader for about 3 months now, the site is awesome. Wanted to let everyone know the new Target tie fighters have shown up in southeast Texas. I used the new DPCI #087-06-1496 and got the clerk to check their system and lo and behold they had them in the back. They also had the new collector cases in the back too. The clerk said that since they had no tags on the shelf and no shelf space to place them they were being kept in the back for the time being. So grab the new #'s and hit your Targets.”

Sandtrooper Starfox Reports:
Real Men wear Pink!“I have some good news in the Central Texas area finally...things have been really slow lately, but I intercepted a coded transmission about Clone Trooper Evolution packs. I quickly scouted and infiltrated a local Wal-Mart to do my own recon work and there they were. 4 sets of the Evolution Clone Trooper! I quickly approached the designated booty and noticed that 3 had damaged boxes, but I was able to secure one mint case! Other than that score, everything else sucks! Target reset 3 weeks ago and still has not put out any new basic figures. They did have a bunch of 500th Vaders. Both local Wal-Marts have had the new Vader Unleashed wave in abundance plus 500th Vader, but no new figures except the Utapaun warrior wave, NO clone repaints to be had. Kmart is in the middle of resetting that has been ongoing for 3 weeks now and still no new figures, plus they are way overpriced, basic figures cost $7.39! TRU has the Vader Unleashed wave and Wookiee Flyers and each time they bring out a case of basic figures, it's always dated April 2nd, blah! That's all from Central Texas, Starfox signing out.”

24/7 S.C.A.L.P. Trooper“Here's yet another brief store report for today.

Wal-Mart (Gurnee, IL) “has the pilot Obi-wan wave & the crispy Anakin wave in stock. The 500th Vaders & Jedi vs. Sith packs are showing up more often than the basic figures.”

TRU (Gurnee, IL) “I picked up a black Clone Pilot this morning. There were 5 or 6 of them when I left. Still no sign of the Shock Troopers or Evolution Trooper 3-packs in the area. If they are out there I've yet to find them. We've got some pretty nasty low-life scalps in these parts, but what appears a new ally in the sector. That's all for now. Later Troopers.”

    Sandtrooper BH 6565 Reports:
“Hey Troopers, first time reporting in. Thought I would say what I saw in Gurnee IL on Thursday night. KB toys in the Mall had the same old figure but had the Anakin Evolution set and the Jedi Sith set. Sears has done there reset and look more like a K-mart Toy department now and not the KB they us to be. They had the Build your own light saber and the K-mart exclusive bigheaded selection. The old Classics they had were marked down to 4.97 mostly Lobot and cloud car pilot and a few Lando Skiffs. The big find was at Wally World were they had put out more of the Clone repaint assortment. They had the At- RT driver and more Obi pilots. I didn't see the black Clone Pilot thou. Lost of the red Clone and green Commanders. No Mustfar sentries either. I found it interesting that they had more figs Thursday cause they had just put out figs Wednesday. Wally is getting stuff that a change since they have had the same figs for months. Good Luck and happy Hunting!”

    Sandtrooper CKchua Reports:
“Since no one mentioned this before – I noticed that there are 2 variants of Obi –Wan Red Leader pilot #55. The last wave of ROTS (51 – 56) hit the retail store in and around Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) 2 days back and I managed to land myself an Obi-Wan today. There were 2 left in our local TRU – that’s when I noticed that the 2 Obi-Wan figure had variant – one with a thin streak of grey hair on the sideburn while the other had a larger streak of grey hair on the sideburn. Unfortunately, I only have a picture of the one I bought which is with the thinner streak of grey hair soemwhat similar to what the photo of Ewan McGregor sports in the card. Maybe other troopers can send in pictures of Obi-Wan with the large streak of grey hair. We also have lots of Captain Antilles, Zett Jukassa, Utapaun Warrior and Mustafar Sentry. As usual, all the rest of the Clone Troopers have been scalped and nowhere to be seen. Looks like this could be the end of ROTS release in the Malaysia as all the stocks are depleting and all the stocks have moved into the far end of the shops. Hope to bring you more good news in future. Trooper Ckchua out!”

Who's Dead?“Hi Troops! It's been a very good couple of days here in northern Illinois. This weekend saw the Mustafar Sentry and AT-RT Driver white mask variant appear at Antioch, IL Super Wal-Mart and another shipment of the newest Unleashed wave. Tuesday night was even better with the peppermint Shock Trooper at two per case showing up at the same store, and with several cases on the palette. That's all for now Troops, 'cause I really ain't got that much to say.”

Sandtrooper Darth Crow Reports: New TIE Fighter found!
We have a visual, Sir!Today I visited my local target in Kalamazoo, MI, the same Target that I saw the Target collector cases out earlier last week. Lo and behold…I found the new Target exclusive TIE Fighter! There were only two, so I picked up one. It costs around $42, which is a lot more than the $35 that I expected. But man, it looks awesome. Just wanted to let you Troopers out there know it’s out!

    Sandtrooper Sand Francisco Tim Reports:
Sand Fransisco Tim!“Hey Troopers, I wanted to give a big thanks to trooper TomK for getting me 45-47 figs. He is a communicative, does what he says kind of Trooper. I would definitely trade with him again. Went over to Vegas again for the weekend and did a quick run back to Target and Toys R Us at Flamingo and Maryland. I found the black flight suit clone pilot and one green clone commander. Not much else happening over there. In SF I stopped by my local Target and noticed they bumped the price up to $6.49 a fig. At that price and with Neimoidians and Wookiees clogging the pegs I don’t think any of them will be moving soon. That’s all for now, gotta go spin the wheels of justice.”

HP Signs Contract to Sell Lucasfilm More than 1,000 PCs
HP Signs Contract to Sell Lucasfilm More than 1,000 PCsIn a recent move by Hewlett-Packard, they have signed a multimillion-dollar agreement with Lucasfilm Ltd., to produce between 1,000 and 1,500 desktop computers over a three year time frame. The workstation that HP will be providing to Lucasfilm will be the xw9300, which supports up to 16 gigabytes of main memory, dual PCI Express (define) graphics cards, and the AMD Opteron processor. These computers will obviously be powerful enough to handle all the day-to-day tasks that Lucasfilm intends on doing, and we can only hope that perhaps some day they will be used to make additional Star Wars films. We can only hope. Read more about this announcement here.

    X-Wing Made of Popcorn?
X-Wing Made of Popcorn?A Canadian church recently tried taking the title of the world's largest popcorn sculpture in the Guiness Book of Records, and what is interesting about this story is what they chose to sculpt with the popcorn. Since it's the year of Star Wars, they chose to create this massive popcorn sculpture into an X-Wing Fighter! The project required approximately 1,300 kilograms of popcorn kernels and about the same amount of sugar boiled with water, to help create a glue-like substance that kept the sculpture together in one piece. The ship stood six meters when it was finally put together. Read the full story here.

Star Wars Galaxies: Trials of Obi-Wan
Star Wars Galaxies: Trials of Obi-WanLucasArts has recently announced that there will be another expansion pack for the already successful Star Wars Galaxies, and this expansion will be titled "Trials of Obi-Wan." A brief description of the game includes the following:

"Obi-Wan guides players on quests that span the planet Mustafar – some of which might even convert devotees of the dark side over to a more virtuous path. This expansion features many new high-level quest rewards, including the ability to find a fiery red crystal found only on the volcanic planet that creates a lava-like lightsaber for the lucky owner. Players who fulfill all of Obi-Wan’s directives will also receive a rich reward."

There are also six screenshots for you to check out, and if you don't already have Star Wars Galaxies then you might just have to go out and pick it up. This will be available on November 1st for the PC, and you must already own the original Star Wars Galaxies in order to play this expansion. Read the full press release here.

    Area Report: Lighting the Way
Puttin' the foot to the Scalpin' Slime!I had an interesting Saturday afternoon run flanked by my younglings. We began our mission in Gurnee, Ill at the Wal-Mart store. AT-RT Driver, Super Articulated Clone Troopers, Vader, Emperor Palpatine, and what appeared to be the newer case assortment minus the Green Clone Commander and Red Shock Trooper. 500th Darth Vader a plenty along with Build Your Own Lightsaber kits. Toys R Us had nothing to offer for new figures, but did have many Wookiee Copters and the Droid Tri-Fighter, which I don’t think hangs around too long after it’s stocked. Target had Green Clone Trooper 3-packs and more of the anniversary Vader along with many new Galactic Heroes. Gurnee for being a very high traffic marketplace did have something to offer for a mid-Saturday afternoon. Spending some quality time with the next generation in Star Wars collectors was truly a highlight for me personally. Damn that Obi-Wan Pilot I picked up! It seems like the supply trickles in every two weeks and in pretty decent sized shipments. Keep searching and utilizing the tools at Sandtroopers.com and you will get what you need. United We Find Troopers!

Was wondering if anyone here new of a good Lord of the Ring Sites that are similar Sandtroopers.com. I'm in need of some of the new Toy Biz figures and they are getting harder to come by in my area and I don't want to resort to Ebay. If anyone here collects LOTR or notices your area still gets inventory maybe someone can hook me up with the few I need. I will gladly pay a few bucks extra for your troubles. Write Lord of the Rings Toys in subject so it doesn't get toss with the other 100+ junk emails I get. Thanks!”

Spyware a Gadget in Star Wars?
Spyware a Gadget in Star Wars?Obviously spyware is not a gadget in the world of Star Wars, but that's what was learned in a recent survey done in the UK. It's speculated that approximately eleven percent of the UK population believe that spyware is a gadget from the Star Wars universe. Now I'd like to know how in the world did they ever come up with that theory? It's obvious that people in the UK aren't informed about spyware, but I thought it was funny enough to put on our front page. Feel free to read the full story here.

    Sandtrooper HothChad Reports:
Cold as Ice“HothChad checking in from Central Minnesota. Went out a major run today, hit 4 Wal-Mart's, 4 Targets, and 1 Kmart. Here’s what they had: Kmart 500th Vader's, first I've seen them here. Target-nothing new. Wal-Mart-1 Wal-Mart had a ton of red Troopers, green Clone Commanders, black Clone Pilots, crispy Anakin. They have a major end cap display of these figures. About 12-15 cases. Thanks to Trooper Tamer for the red eyed Anakin. HothChad Out!”

    Sandtrooper Darth Pharoah Reports:
Goes down Souf!“DarthPharaoh with some good news to report from north of Atlanta. The Wal-Mart stores are finishing up their resets and finally got some new basic figures. On a run into my local WM for some breakfast food I ran by the toys and lo and behold.... new basic figures. They had the Crispy Anakin wave and 2 of the 3 clone repaints (pilot and commander) all in decent quantities except for the electronic R2`s. They also had put out the first Jedi vs. Separatist Battlepacks. I’ve seen but only 2 of them. These all seem to basically be repacks though so I passed on it. For army builders they had also gotten in about 8 a piece of the # 41 SA Clone and # 44 Destroyer Droid. I’m still looking for the Mustafar Sentry and red # 6 Shock Trooper and I have an extra black Clone Pilot or Mustafar Anakin to trade. If interested let me know. I also want to give a big shout So Cal Jedi Dom for the Tarkin figure. Thanks a lot! I’m out, and as always.... Death To All Scalpers!”

Hey Troops, Sandwatch Action Figure Reviews have been updated with Revenge of the Sith figure #06 Clone Trooper with Quick-Draw Attack. With the Royal Guard #23 we saw the first of this new practice by Hasbro of what I'll refer to as acceptable rehashing. In the Clone Trooper we were treated to an all white and a new red version. Did the new Troopers live up to the hype? Will they do their job as promised? Find out the answer and also why Sandwatch Action figure reviews continue to be the most brutally honest reviews on the Internet. We have two future Sandwatch guest stars lined up for future appearances but if you are interested please drop me a line. Feel free to offer your own feedback about the RotS collection. Until then enter if you dare!

    Sandtrooper Jedihawk Reports:
Texas S.C.A.L.P. Border Patrol“Well troops, time to give a local report. Lots of new stuff out in my area with one major omission basic figures! All of my local stores have most of the other lines up to date and fully loaded. But the basic figure selection has not made it past #44. Well until this morning. My local Super WM put out ONE! Case of new figures #51-53. And that is all that there has been around here for quite some time. Most stores have the Jedi vs. Sith Battle Pack, 500th Vader, and Anakin Evolutions. All have lots of force battlers. My local TRU got in a new shipment of the Obi-Wan Starfighters along with several ARC 170's. Most everyone now has the Wookiee Flyer warming shelf space along side the Battle Arenas. Also all of my local stores have completed (or almost) their fall reset of the toy aisles. And still no new figures. Only time will tell and I am sure new stuff will show. (Patience, you must learn patience.) Only good thing about the re-sets is that I was able to score a Mustafar Playset for only $20. Also still hoping to get a few other items on clearance after the re-sets are fully completed. Most likely after the back to school stuff cools down. Not that much is cooling down this time of year in TX. Well that is about all from central TX. I will be working on a list of extras that I will be posting up soon. So keep an eye out. Good luck! And as usual…Hunt'em Down!”

    Wausau WI Store Reports:
Hi Troops! I swung by our local Kohl's and unless your looking for figures from April 2nd including Clone Trooper #6's galore I would recomend avoiding this store for now. I also hit up our local Target and noticed they reset the Star Wars section and stocked it up again . The figures were pretty much standard fare (figures up to #52) but they did have one Vader on operating table (burnt scalp variant), five 500th Vaders, three Clone Trooper 3 packs (brown spotted variants), four Jedi vs. Sith Action Packs, and the build your own Lightsaber kits. The Galactic Heros were stocked to the hilts also with pretty much all the different sets. Mustafar playsets were also warming the lower shelfs if your still looking for one of these.

That's all the searching I did today in my neck of the woods, good luck in YOUR neck of the woods!

Force of the Bay: Win it All or Die Tryin'
With the sales of Star Wars merchandise at an all time high, I decided to see if there were any smokin’ deals to be had at ebay. Where else in the world would you be able to find the latest beauty line from Jabba the Hutt? Fan made items and various blasts from the past are really cool but maybe you are looking for simple memorabilia, maybe a Star Wars golden ticket? Perhaps you will find other collectors showcasing their talents. Things like that really make you wonder what should have been. So whether it’s looking for the last few you missed or a new trophy piece for your treasure room, you can always find something worth looking at on the bay. You have to know what time it is and realize what is better to suit your personal needs when making larger purchases. Maybe you are a do-it-yourself kind of guy or perhaps you have more money than time, you will find what suits you best. So don’t think because you are stuck on some farm in the middle of nowhere you could never dig up some of the greatest Star Wars artifacts known to mankind. Remember Sandtroopers.com neither endorses nor authenticates any of the items featured here. Good luck to you great Sandtroopers. Kick A$% and take names!

Hey Troopers!  I saddled up the Dewback for Conglomeration 2005 today.   I went not know what to expect.  It was a small convention, but the people were nice, and the experience was quite enjoyable.  I left with a few goodies and I was happy.  I didn't get to stay for the masquerade, so I'm sure I missed the best part.  There's always next year.  Read about the experience here.

“Tamer here, man have I been tearing up the roadways in my neck of the woods (Western MD, eastern WV) and finally found a couple green commanders and a red-eyed Anakin. I may have also added a super Wal-Mart employee who is going to watch for new figures for us. He walked by and noticed I had the green commanders in my hand and asked if I wanted some red troopers. They were already gone, but I introduced him to Sandtroopers and let him know that he could find some good trades as well as put it to the scalpers here at this site. He said that he was going to look at the site and maybe could hold a few of the newer figures for us in his own attempt to thwart the scalpers. I'd also like to say thanks to HothChad for being so kind to forward his Sandblast prize, truly a kind gesture!”

    Sandtrooper Sand Fransisco Tim Reports:
Sand Fransisco Tim!“It’s been a while since I last posted but it would be nice to have something to report. I’m actually looking for some help filling in my collection, namely 45-47. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it. I would obviously pay for cost of the figs plus shipping and once the figs are received I will send you a super articulated clone trooper (#41) for your troubles. Free. Store report – I usually have to leave the Bay Area to find anything. I found 48-52 in Las Vegas Target at Maryland & Flamingo; the TRU across the street didn’t have much. I found all three Unleashed bad guys/girl at Disney in Anaheim for $20.00 each – Ouch! Oh well I can’t find them anywhere else. Green trooper 3-pack was found at Target in Vacaville, not much beyond that. Email me if interested in my offer and thanks!”

Han Solo Gentle Giant Mini Bust: In Stock!
The Han Solo Mini Bust from Gentle Giant is in stock now at StarWarsShop.com! Han is often thought of as an overly confident and arrogant fellow. He possesses a wry, sarcastic wit, and a reckless manner. This often gets him into predicaments that only his foolhardy courage can get him out of. If, at the height of his smuggling days, you told Han Solo that he would be a hero of the Rebellion, fall in love with an Alderaanian princess, and become a general in the Alliance, he would have had no shortage of smart remarks for you. But if anything is consistent in Solo's life, it is unpredictability.

This highly detailed mini-bust from Gentle Giant Studios stands 6.5 inches tall, and features Han Solo in a characteristic stance. He is holding his weapon of choice, a blaster. Order yours today!

    Operation: Rally the Troopers
I spent a great deal of yesterday upset about the news regarding the passing of Katie Johnson this past Tuesday. I spent a great deal of the evening trying to think of a way I could help the family in their time of need. This is what Sandtroopers.com is going to do. With the mega success of the Sandblast Birthday giveaway, and less than two full weeks remaining many of you have asked what you could to do improve your chances of winning. So here is what you can do: For every five dollars donated to the Johnson Family, we will add another entry of your name into the daily selection process. For example, donate $20 and you have five chances of winning, counting the forum membership which is also required to enter the Sandblast 5th Giveaway. We will also accept donations that were made prior to this date; we are working with Heart of the Empire right now on a verification process. As of right now I’d speculate the Paypal route on the page would be the fastest way to accomplish this. Place in the message box for the organization to send me an email for the amount and from whom.

I’m also going to put my money where my mouth is; Sandtroopers.com is going to cut a check to this cause in the amount of $100.00. The loyal Troopers of Sandtroopers.com are a very generous group. I call upon each and every one of you to do what you can to help this man who has been so instrumental to the success of Star Wars fans. Nothing could prepare any of us for the loss of a child. The burden of that almost seems unbearable; Mr. Johnson has many people around him who will help get him through this. We’d like to do our part in helping him to not concern himself with money. United We Find, again I’m asking each and every one of you to do what you can to help.

    A moment of Silence
We have learned some bad news from the 501st Legion. Many of you recall a few months ago we ran an image asking for donations to help a little girl named Katie Johnson, daughter of Albin Johnson, founder of the 501st Legion. Katie passed away yesterday and is now in a better place. We express our deepest sympathy for the Johnson family, and you will be in the thoughts and prayers of us all…

    Sandtrooper RoswellSun Reports:
“This is my 1st report to Sandtroopers and it's for the Northeast (CT to be specific). Here it goes: Wal-Mart has nothing new at all unless it's a Supercenter then they have everything: 45-56, clone repaints (if you're lucky), Titanium, deluxe, and more; Target is the place to find Jedi vs. Sith and 51-53; KB/Toyworks also has a lot: 48-56, AT-TE Gunners, red Guards (many), and more on stand alone displays I had heard nothing about. Only thing I couldn't find were the clone repaints. If anyone can help out email me. On the downside, I met a super scalper. He had a cartridge full of toys from various lines and was on the phone saying, "so how many clones do you want?" He said he gets figures for his "clients" and "makes a lot of money doing it". He also said he covers half of CT and his other "associates" cover the rest. Who are these clients? I wondered how we stood a chance then I realized it's sites like this!”

    Sandtrooper Elguille Reports:
“Hello Troops. A new post from Miami for those looking for the new wave of figures, Wal-Mart received about 15 cases again tonight (last week they got 18, yes 18 cases) this one is a case numbered 85173A00B that includes the flea rider and the solid AT-RT driver that by the way comes in different shades I counted at least 4 different shades of tan on the mask some with white lines, some with no lines, also had the toasted Anakin, Mustafar R2, Bacara and older figures along with the obi wan pilot, no re painted clones in this cases or black pilots. Also they had plenty of lightsabers, galactic heroes and the new wave of Die Cast Titanium Series with the ARC -170, Tie Bomber, Naboo fighter, SwampSpeeder and Land speeder, so if anyone is looking for them go because the figures seem to fly away in a matter of 2 days tops! The pegs were filled of all of them when I left tonight. Still looking for the Black pilot in case someone is looking to trade I have a few figures for trade, drop me a line and tell me what you are looking for.”

    Sandtrooper Darth Pharaoh Reports:
Goes down Souf!“DarthPharaoh reporting in with the first good weekend from the Hotlanta area in a while. Between KB Toys, Wal-Mart and (mostly) Target this is what I found. The Titanium series gift pack, Jedi vs. Sith battlepack (the armored Obi-Wan is too cool), Bacara wave figures minus crispy Anakin, and Zett Jukassa wave. Unfortunately no repaint figures or AT-RT Driver wave but if anyone has extras of those I have an extra Bacara figure and I picked up another Red Guard #23 for trades. I also need a ROTS Tarkin. Let me know if you want to trade. Sadly, nothing new at TRU cuz I really want that blue Obi-Wan fighter. I’m out.... Death to all Scalpers!”

    NEW Pre-Orders:
    Astromech Droids
: These ARE the Droids you are looking for! We have listed new pre-orders for the upcoming Astromech Droid Set exclusives at lower pricing than the company who owns this exclusive is offering their own customers. Each set is available singly for $36.99 (versus $39.99) or the full set of 10 figures is $69.99 (versus $74.99). Set #1 contains R3-T6, R3-T2, R2-C4, R4-A22, R2-Q2 and Set #2 contains R3-Y2, R2-M5, R2-A6, R4-E1, R2-X2. We also have a case of 10 sets (50 droids) available at $294.99. Pictures of all the droids are available now on the pre-order menu.

Star Wars Unleashed Wave III: Instead of the standard 2 sets per case assortment, Hasbro is spicing things up a bit for the Wave 3 Unleashed Figures. There will be 1 set of 3 new figures (Han Solo as Stormtrooper, Chewbacca, Clone Trooper) as well as 1 Darth Vader from wave 2 and an extra Han Stormtrooper and Clone Trooper. We have now listed single figure pre-orders for the Darth Vader, Han Stormtrooper and Clone Trooper along with the existing Set of 3 Pre-Order.

    New in Stock:

Marvel Figure Factory: These cool little figures have not been widely released yet and we were lucky to get an early shipment. The figures are generally about 3" to 4" tall and come disassembled in a small plastic crate. Each kit contains 15 to 25 pieces that snap together easily to complete the figure. There are 8 normal figures listed plus a single 'Mystery Figure' listing. There are 12 possible Mystery Figures to collect - each mystery figure box is packaged blind and randomly so you won't know which figure you'll receive until you open the box. Figures range from $5.99 to $9.99 and we have a decent quantity in stock now. Normal figures include: Hulk, The Thing, Iron Man, Venom, Wolverine, Dock Ock, Spider-Man and Green Goblin. Each figure also includes 4 trading cards that can be used to form a huge mural when you have enough cards.

Spider-Man Classics: Both wave 13 and wave 14 of Spider-Man Classics have just arrived. Wave 13 is available as a set of 3 with the two typically cheesy Spider-Man figures and a nice Magic Change Mysterio figure for $34.99. Wave 14 improves the cool / not so cool figure ratio substantially - Sets of 5 are available for $44.99 and include Buzzing Beetle and a chromed Tail-Strike Scorpion along with the fairly interesting Spin N Trap Spider-Man, and the peg warming Web Trap Spider-Man and Web Cannon Spider-Man (each of which are also available separately).

Magi-Rangers Travelion: Just in from Japan - the Travelion is an awesome steam engine train combining set that uses all the engines and cars to form a larger robot. Parts of this set can be combined with the Magi King and DX Wolkaiser as well. All 3 figures are in stock now on this menu.

Also shipping this week: Transformers, Fantastic Four, Microman, Charlie Brown Christmas and MORE!

Wizards World 2005: Workin' for the Weekend
Foot PatrolHey Troopers, it was one hell of a weekend in Chicago at Wizards World 2005, we had a delightful time once again. While Hasbro lacked the effort we would expect out of a multi-million dollar empire, maybe next year they will decide they should attend the largest expo in the Midwest. I just can’t see why they couldn’t make it in movie year, perhaps I’ll try to get some answers on that but I’d much rather a trip to the dentist.

Gentle Giant Boba Fett StatueIt didn’t stop any of us from having a good time, and even though it wasn’t much, Gentle Giant showed us two HUGE surprises coming out for the statue line. Note the shots we got from our S.C.A.L.P. photo Troopers are of prototypes, we were told they are not the finished product, and we probably should not be publishing them, but what the hell. Check out my weekend report and see how you are going to spend five hundred dollars plus next year. United We Find!

    Sandtrooper HothChad Reports:
Cold as Ice“HothChad From Central Minnesota. Hit a few stores this weekend and here is what is out there in my area. Target found the Anakin Evolutions Pack, Jedi vs. Sith Battlepacks, and the 3 pack of blue Clone Troopers are in good numbers. Wal-Mart is a wasteland that hasn’t seen anything new for weeks. Kmart once again had nothing new. Haven't seen any of the new basic figures past #53! Until next time HothChad Out.”

S.C.A.L.P. Costal Defender“Hey Troops, Donna from So Cal with an overdue report. Since attending Comic Con, I was out of town again for 10 days. So here is what I have found for the past three weeks. K-Mart had 500th Vader, Anakin Evolution set, M&M 2-packs series 2, and Han Solo Force Battler. Target had kashyyyk Battle set, Unleashed Vader wave, Green clone 3-pack, Antilles wave, and Build Your Own Lightsaber. TRU had M&M 2-packs series 1, Obi w/blue Starfighter, Galactic Hero Landspeeder, 500th Vader, Mega Packs including the one with the AT-TE Gunner, and lastly two blue saber Palpatines. Wal-Mart has had nothing new for the past month or so. Also, I need to shout "Thanks" to the following troopers who I have traded with recently: So Cal Dom, Dead Hero (General J) and Dallas Estep. All great Troopers. Lastly, I have a couple of extra Holo Leia's for trade. Looking for some Clone Wars figs, POTC Sandtrooper, and Unleashed Stormtrooper. Happy Hunting to all!”

    Sandtrooper Darth Vegas Reports:
“Darth Vegas back with you from an early morning recon. I found the Flea Rider in force at Wal-Mart (Serene and Spencer) I had Multiple Five Six's Targeted and was tempted to take them all but that wouldn't be right. I took out my usual two and then took two more just because I was feeling froggy. There was a little dude and his Grandpa looking for a General Grievous so I helped him find the only one in the place, they also grabbed a talking R2. Having added another humanitarian mission to an already sterling morning, I egressed the way I came in. I also found a 3-pose trooper with one that has very small blue pin stripping. I have seen a bunch of clones but never one with this paint. Also found a green clone 3 pose. Just wondering about that blue thing. If you've seen it let me know, if not maybe I could put a picture up to check out. I left 12 or so of the freaky little 56 dudes hanging on the pegs for my fellow warriors, then made tracks for home. All in all it was a successful deployment. Hey, if you like to read, check out "Labyrinth of Evil" It's just before Episode III and it paints a real good picture. Just more for your mind! Darth Vegas Out!”

    Sandtrooper Darth Eddie Reports:
Killer Trooper“Just a heads up...a report on a slightly older figure from the end of 2004 that has JUST started re-emerging in my area (Roanoke, VA) at a couple of Family Dollar stores in the toy aisles...the VOTC Stormtrooper in the clamshell! I couldn't believe it, as not only has not a single recent Episode III-themed toy of any stripe shown up but the entire chain seems to have neglected/rejected STAR WARS toys in general for most of the last year or two. I hadn't seen any STAR WARS action figures since early this year, and then the selection was limited to a few 2002 Saga Han Solos. I’m sorry I didn't check the peg/tag and didn't buy any because I already own multiples of this most awesome of army builders and had to save my cash for something else at another store, but a Family Dollar in my immediate area of Roanoke had no fewer than five VOTC Stormtroopers in their clamshells hanging next to some die-cast cars in the main toy aisle. The clamshells seemed to be in extremely good condition with only a scattered nick or ding in a couple of them.

The oddball thing is that even though there were five Stormies, there were no other figures of any kind from the entire VOTC line. Not even a pegwarmer Han or Luke. It seems as if the store received a case that was nothing but Stormies, if that was even possible with the 2004 VOTC assortments. I just wanted to give you guys out there in Sandtrooper Land a heads-up on your local Family Dollar outlets if you have them in your particular area. Give the toy aisles a quick look...you might find one or more of the Emperor's loyal and fanatical looking back at you from the pegs in all their white armored glory!”

“Hey guys major problem in Sacramento Ca. I have been to several stores and am finding the 500th edition Vader tore open and the light saber extra hand and cape missing. I have found about 35 figures damaged all over town. Word is there is a scalper trying to sell them on ebay for 5 bucks each. I have not seen them for sale yet but I am actively watching for him to start selling them. Good news I have found figures at Wal-Mart that are the green commanders and the red shock troopers. I have also found clone 3 pack blue troopers at target along with red and blue guards. Toys r Us has the exclusive obi wan in and the two pack discount figures. Also found the evolution Vader and more Clone Gunners at targets all over town Monday. A KB toy has the republic starship that fits 3 pilots and 1 droid in as well. Nothing at Kmart other then the Tarkin wave. Starting to see more mace Windu and Vader figures everywhere along with Bacara and the light up R2-D2 no sign of crispy Vader Anakin though. Also seeing Zett Zuckasa and Obi-Wan pilot waves at target and Wal-Mart stores everywhere. Good hunting my friends. Super trooper Sith lord storm out!”

Are they still making these?“Our Targets have done their resets. They had these new goodies: 500th Vader (one Target had six of them), Anakin Evolutions, build you lightsaber set, and the Sith VS Jedi action pack. Pretty much what everyone else has reported. Still no new figures. Wal-Mart on the other had is taking their sweet time getting anything. Spice, a little reality check for you. I have not seen 10 cases of new figures at any of our Wal-Mart’s like you told me yours have received. Some Wal-Mart’s are almost barren while one is still flooded with April 2nd product. Starting to wonder if our Wal-Mart’s are getting out of Star Wars. That’s all for now.”

    Sandtrooper Jedihawk Reports:
Texas S.C.A.L.P. Border Patrol“Well Troops. It has been a while, so here it goes. Not much to speak of really around here for the past 4-6 weeks really. New things have started to trickle in during the past week. No new basic figures over 44 around here. Heck not any store has even restocked basic figures in over a month. Both Wal-Mart are full of older inventory and since they have decreased the SW section, the smaller pegs are full of old stock. Not much Deluxe at either in a while also. There for a while they were doing pretty good w/ Wave 3. They got pretty decent array of the Mpire sets and sold through most of that. I did manage to pick up the Anakin-to-Vader Evolution Set at a local Wal-Mart just yesterday. But that is the only new stuff. Hopefully a sign of new things to come. Funny thing...at both of my local WM, they put out a case of VOTC figs. The ANH first wave w/ Obi, Han & Luke. Very interesting. Must have found it in the back at both places? Or someone made a large return split between the 2 stores. My local Target is slowing getting out new stock. Lots of the other SW lines getting new stock. Galactic Heroes, Force Battlers and the like. This week, they reset the toy section and put out some 500th Vader. And this morning the Anakin-Vader Evolution Set. Had a pretty good restock on electronic sabers last week and sold through those pretty quickly. Not much else going on there. Lots of shelf tags for new inventory. Come on! Toys R' (not) Us has been very slow. No new figures in a long time. They just last week put out the Mega 2 packs of the repack stuff. It now sits right beside the over flow of the same figures not in the 2 packs. They did get the Obi-Wan Starfighter in last week, so that was refreshing. They have also had the Mpire stuff. Big shout to Starfox! Thanks for the hook up on the EB Kit! Great Trooper and all around SW fan, and apparently now a reporter. Well that is about all from Central TX. Hoping that things pick up again soon and that the Clone repaints are available to all. Good luck! Hunt'em Down Troops!”

    Sandtrooper Darth Pharoah Reports:
Goes down Souf!“DarthPharaoh here with an ok weekend to report. First off was a BIG disappointment from my KB where the manager had promised a huge shipment with all the newest figures. All they got were tons of Mpire figs and some deluxe figures, none of which were Clone 3 packs. No basic figures at all. However I did get the last of 4 Anakin Evolution packs from the Target across the street. Also found a blue Clone 3 pack at another Target near me and a red/brown one at a Target in Greenville, SC while visiting my in-laws. That target also had the build your own lightsaber kit. Otherwise it’s been dead here at all Wal-Marts and TRU’s. Also on a down note a Target employee told me they had an auto ordering system on basic figures and with all the pegwarmers hanging around he didn’t expect the system to trigger anytime in the near future. Not good. So if anyone can help me out with newer or repainted figs I’d really appreciate it and would happily pay cost plus shipping with an extra buck or two thrown in for your help. I’m out and as always.... Death to all scalpers!”

    Sandtrooper David Reports:
“I just got back from my run in Ames, IA - Target is apparently getting all the new stuff, except for regular figures. There is nothing above 49, but I did manage to get a Darth Vader Evolutions set and a 500th Darth Vader. I followed up with K-mart, which had nothing, neither did Wal-Mart. I wish it were hitting here!”

    Sandtrooper Eric Reports:
“I found and bought two VOTC Stormtroopers and a VOTC Lando Calrissian for $5 each at a Family Dollar store in Belleville, IL. They also had VOTC Yoda. Keep your eyes peeled at your local Family Dollar stores.”

    Sandtrooper Tamer Reports:
“Sandtrooper Tamer here. I was finally able to find a few things. Bacaras, red Troopers, green Commanders, Obi-Wan pilots, etc. I was finally able to pick up a 500th Vader too. Got two by mistake to help out HothChad and would be willing to part with them for a decent trade. Still have the sneak preview Grevious too. Almost traded it, but the Sandtrooper found it before we had a chance to connect. So, it is still up for grabs too. Keep looking Troopers!”
