Dewback Patrol: S.C.A.L.P. Trooper Jetfire's Recon Mission at the Toronto SFX Convention
Hey Troopers, Sandtrooper Jetfire (a.k.a. Wedgewannabe) took time to scope out the Toronto SFX Convention this past weekend. This is the largest show in Canada and hot off his Wizard World trip, he just couldn't wait to hit another convention. Rob was gracious enough to supply us with an in-depth look for those of us who couldn?t make the trek north of the border. While it was not quite what he had hoped for, the details of his mission were pretty interesting to say the least. He even had a little time to sit down with everyone?s favorite furball! Ho Canada! United We Find, no walls, no borders can stop us!!!

Sandtroopette Lisette Reports:
S.C.A.L.P. Counter Intelligence“Hi Troopers: Lisette from NYC reporting. The new Target in Brooklyn had several OTC figures still hanging from the pegs: I saw Yoda, Spirit Obi-Wan, Jedi Luke, Pilot Luke, C-3P0 and a few VOTC Han Solo. There were also plenty of Leia and Anakin glasses. If any trooper can help me out with the K-Mart exclusive Cantina scene, I would greatly appreciate it. With the Republican convention at Madison Square Garden, I can't get near the K-Mart around the corner from MSG. Without a pass I'm told it's impossible to even pass through the area. The good news is that a lot of people must have decided to take off this week because the trains are not that bad. So if anyone can help me out that would be cool. That's all for now.”

Sandtrooper Jedi-Hawk Reports:
Texas S.C.A.L.P. Border Patrol“Well troops just a small heads up here from TX. OTC stuff is slowly trickling in to the area. The Super Wal-Mart has put up the OTC aisle display unit and most of those figures have sold already. The other Wal-Mart just puts out a case of OTC about once a week. TRU is a goldmine for ships and everything else but no figures. Well they have plenty of the Jedi Council scenes 3 & 4. (1 & 2) and then Target seems to be a little slow. But I did manage to pick up the newest Unleashed Wave this weekend with Bossk, Aayla and Tusken Raider at Target. Also just this morning at my local Wal-Mart, I did manage to pick up some figures from OTC Assortment #9 with the Biker Scout in it. It was 2 Biker Scouts per case. Also of note, my TRU put out the new Battle of Endor 4-Pack Exclusive. Trenchcoat Han, Biker Scout /w Speeder Bike, Wicket and Logray. All repacks, of course, but much better than the lame Jedi set. Also the OTC style package looks nice. I passed for now, but there was about 8 of them on the shelf. Oh also I picked up an extra handstand Luke if anyone is looking. Drop me an email and maybe we can work out a trade. A big thanks to the fellow trooper who hooked me up with the K-Mart Cantina Scene. Hunt'em down troops.”

Sandtrooper ACPin Reports: Lord Vader has Arrived
Vader Arrives at Executor“Darth Vader arrives on the Super Star Destroyer Executor, greeted by Admiral Ozzel along with Captain Piett in one of the docking bays with an impressive display of Imperial troops. Lord Vader didn't care much for the pageantry as much as finding out the new location of the rebel base after the debacle at Yavin IV.”

Sandtrooper Jon Reports:
Northwest Ohio/Southeast Michigan:
Each of the three K-Marts I visited this week had the Mos Eisley Cantina scene. One Wal-Mart had the new large cardboard pallet display packed with display cases and figures (multiple handstand Luke). Two Targets in the area had the Unleashed Bossk and Tusken Raider. One Meijer had multiple OTC Tusken Raiders, Jawas, Snowtroopers, and Tie Fighter pilots. Another Meijer had four VOTC Luke (along with Ben, Han, and Leia). What I found was that the same type of store located just ten to fifteen miles away had totally different inventory out. One would have only scattered old SAGA peg warmers and then another had more new Star Wars figures than I can remember seeing since Episode II came out.”

The figure cases are on an end cap and the figs are in three separate places, the regular aisle, a bunch are above these figures, and then they are two aisles over at the end of the aisle. Target in Delafield had one Aayla Secura Unleashed.”

More Star Wars Movies to Come!?
Just when you thought Revenge of the Sith was supposed to be the last Star Wars movie ever made, something big was recently written up by E! Online that would say just the opposite. I received a phone call from my wife this morning, saying that she had read online that three additional Star Wars movies might be produced after ROTS has been filmed. If three more Star Wars movies are made, they would take place after Return of the Jedi, making them episodes 7, 8 and 9. Could this really happen?

What are your thoughts about this? Be sure to speak your mind in our forums.

Sandwatch Figure Reviews: A Triple Sandwatch with a side of Old Cheese
Hey Troops, Sandwatch Action Figure Reviews has been updated with figures #12 - #15 from the OTC collection. While I have a hard time saying good things about OTC collection, perhaps you will relate to what I have to say, and post comments of your own. I even adopted some of the same tactics Hasbro uses with the review of Boba Fett. By giving the same thing we gave you years ago, maybe it's better than 'this sucks' a million times over. It is good to have General J outta retirement for one review, even though he doesn't realize it yet! Feel free to offer your own feedback about the OTC collection. Until then enter if you dare!

HOW Deep is Your Love: Another Happy Ending...
Hey Troops, back in April a Trooper from the Midwest wrote in asking if I knew how to get into contact with anyone who could dress up as Stormtroopers at his wedding. I sent Kevin to the Midwest Garrison and TK1216 served as a great contact man for the mission. We'd like to thank Kevin and Marissa Neander for sharing these special photos with our readers. Amazing to see how much Star Wars will influence people! Check out the ceremony here. Thanks again to the Midwest Garrison Members and the newlyweds for the photos. Sandtrooper Jetfire Reports:
DEEP Recon in the Great Lakes State!“Well Troops, the Dewback is back in the garage after another round of store checks! Don't bother with the Mejiers in Holland or in Grandville as they are pretty well cleaned out! Only a few Saga Hoth Rebel Troopers to keep the OTC X-wing and TIE fighter company. The TRU doesn?t have any new figs, just the Ask Yoda, Jedi Council scenes, Millennium Falcon, TIE fighter, X-wing, and Darth Vader TIE. The Holland Target has the new 12-inch (Luke and stormtrooper) as well as the Falcon and a buttload of VOTC (Han, Ben and Leia). I might run back just to grab an extra Leia or two as these have seemed to disappear from everywhere else in the area. The big surprise came from the local KayBee. A big salute to a guy named John working there who hooked me up. No new figs came in on the latest truck, but it did have all old Saga figs..... including Ephant Mon. Did I mention that all these figs were for $2.99 each! So thanks again to John for hooking me up. Besides that, they did have some OTC lying around (ANH Ben, Cloud Car pilot, Bespin Leia, etc.) but I had to pass at $7 each. That's about it from the Great Lakes State! Keep me in mind if you see any FF AT-AT drivers, a POTJ TIE Interceptor, or a POTF2 Y-wing! Sandtrooper Jetfire out.”

Sandtrooper Juan Reports: LIVE from NW Jersey
“Just to let you guys know that Wal-Mart is holding most of there Star Wars inventory on hold for the Fall/Winter. I spoke to a representative of the toy department and informed me that they are still trying to figure out how the Star Wars display area will be set up. Target has been getting in much inventory in the same manner but soon to be displayed out in a week or two (Back to School Week). TRU has been delivering the goods in mass quantities - guess they are not waiting for the fall. I must not though that every store I have gone to in my area has had Star Wars cards all folded on the top right corner - I really don't know who is doing this but, if you get caught watch out - You will be reported to the store manager for damaging store merchandise. Nothing more to report from North West Jersey.”

Monster-Making Is Dave's Game
Monster-Making Is Dave's GameOne thing that separates Star Wars from the rest of its competition is how cool aliens and monsters look. They sometimes look almost TOO real. The man who is responsible for making it happen is Dave Elsey. Dave is the Creature Shop Creative Supervisor for Lucasfilm, and he's the man in charge for the creation of anything monster-related (horns, appendages, eye contacts, etc). So what's his biggest assignment for the upcoming Revenge of the Sith? You should be able to guess it, but if not it's Darth Vader. Read the exciting article here.

And the Winners ARE:
It has been one wild month around here. We'd like to thank The Jawa.com, the Bothan Spy and The Private Universe for their help in getting the word out about the Sandblast. It is a shame the other 'fan sites' that got the release about the Sandblast were too afraid and refused to let THE FANS know about what was going on. Their loss is our gain. We realize no one has ever come close to a giveaway of this magnitude, and understand the 'other guys' would rather line their own pockets, than to give back to what makes them so great. We have selected 14 winners at random although everyone who is involved around here deserves a prize. Here are the 2004 Sandblast Winners:

The Ghost of QG - Brians Toys

Master Fett - Federation Toys

Songwtr - Cloud City

TK895 - Toyfellas

Y-Wing Yager - R2Dtoys

Habs98 - DG Promotions (Autographed Carrie Fisher)

Devils Ewok - K&C Collectibles
Kaantur_Set - DG Promtions (Autographed Malcom Dixon Photo)

Rogue Jedi TJ - Action-HQ

OnebigK - Wholesalecases.com

Jor Supersid - Collectors Gallery Online

Stormtripper - Big Bad Toy Store

Plo Koon 200 - Anime Daves World

TD257 - Yestertoys

Thanks to all that entered, we appreciate each and everyone of you, however at this time are only able to reward 14! For the winners, please email Darth Spice for confirmation and info to claim your prize. United We Find, until the next party Troops!!!

Sandtrooper Jedi Master-C Reports:
Are they still making these?“One of our Wal-Mart stores here in Huntsville Alabama have set up the OTC display stand. This thing is huge and looks great. I love the old school look to it. Also, this will shock you but I took the VOTC Luke off the card. After I received mine in the mail from Jason I found another at TRU.The case it comes in does not fit the figure bubbles that where used for the 12,20/21 backs and the ESB figures. They only work well with the POTF and the ROTJ figures. Another thing to not is that the case is not very deep so you can't stick a figure like Amanaman in the case. Just to give you a heads up. Take care.”

GenCon Indy 2004 Coverage!
The mission was a fairly simple one... to go out to the GenCon Indy convention, take pictures, and report back to Sandtroopers.com headquarters with as much information that could be acquired. Because this mission wasn't anywhere near as complex as last week's Wizard World Chicago event, only one Sandtrooper was needed to scout the GenCon event. Sandtrooper Boba Binks volunteered his services for the Imperial cause, and came back with some stunning undercover photos. Read his report of the event here.

They also have a bunch of VOTC Han Solo, Leia & Obi-Wan. The Killeen Wal-Mart has the same VOTC figures and the Luke Pilot Unleashed wave. Target seems to have stalled after having the OTC Jawa wave earlier in the week. Sandtrooper SoCal Dom Reports:
One of SoCal's Finest!“Been awhile since I last reported in. Not much out here in So Cal that everyone else is finding though. I have seen stuff such as the 12-inch Luke, Stormtrooper, and Boba Fett. I have seen VOTC Luke, Leia, Han & Obi-wan, as well as the Falcon, Tie Fighter, X-wing, the new glasses at Target, talking Yoda, Playskool 2-packs, and most of the 1st 15 OTC figs. Other than that, not much else. I have extras of C-9+ Bespin Leia, Cloud Car Pilot, and Lobot if anyone is interested. I was looking to trade if possible. I need all figures beyond #20, except for #22 Greedo. If anyone has any of those and would like to trade straight up, let me know. If I get no other offers, I will sell at cost plus shipping. Hope I can help as much as someone else can help me.”

Force of the Bay: Momma said Knock You Out!
Perhaps one of the greatest things about ebay is the variety of things you can add to your collection with the touch of a button. While many have been in frenzy over the Luke Stormtroper, many are missing the boat on the Chewie Bust. Now if you didn?t have one of these attached to your waist I don?t think you could consider yourself a Star Wars collector. One of those and a John Deere hat and perhaps the White Trash award would be taken to new heights. Maybe if you could get your significant other into this number. It really freaks me out the things people actually thought to keep in boxes. Code who? I remember MPC very well and they had some really great models! There are so many excellent pieces that you know are rare, but you could even find something more endangered to reach out and tell somebody about your score. There may be flaws such as labels applied, but if you search long enough you will find exactly what you want. The specifications do not matter, just be patient. While some may think the VOTC Princess is a rough find, don?t forget what is truly worth money and rare. I?ll give you a hint it wasn?t made this year! Just remember there are things you could scope out that you will feel are not worth the money, but to another collector who?d pay triple! I just can?t see paying that much for ONE single loose figure. Remember, Sandtroopers.com neither endorses nor authenticates any of the items featured here. Good luck to you Troops in your searches. Kick A#$ and take names!

Sandtrooper Jetfire Reports: It's a S.C.A.L.P. thing, you wouldn't understand
Will you just get your ass here already?“Had a run of luck yesterday when I hit the Grand Rapids TRU. Found the VOTC Vader and Yoda as well as a few of the VOTC Luke. I grabbed two Vader and passed on the rest for anyone looking. Left the VOTC Luke (both 12-inch and regular) hanging out on the shelves too. They still had a ton of the Vader TIE, Regular TIE, and X-wings. Also in stock were all the three-packs as well as the plush buddies (R2, 3PO, Wicket, Yoda, and Chewie). No regular OTC figs at all. The Red Leader X-wing and Skirmish at Carkoon pack were still on the shelves from when Ryanthehutt and I last visited. Not many Saga figs left, but still a plethora of POTJ if anyone's looking for an Ellors Madak or Shmi Skywalker. Not much else to report from there. Besides that, Wal-Mart?s continue to drop the ball on SW toys. And to think they're the reason why TRU might divide up! I'll be looking for any Chewie figs MOC to trade ASAP, as he'll be at the Canadian SFX show next weekend in Toronto. Look for an exclusive write-up here at Sandtroopers.com. Would love to find something unique, but also looking for the Dejarik Champion fig from POTJ or the Mynock Hunt 3-pack from POTF2. Sandtrooper Jetfire (aka WedgeWannaBe) out!”

Sandtrooper Deadman Inc. Reports:
“For the past week, Princess Leia has been missing from the VOTC shipments to Target and Toys R Us. When Yoda showed up, Princess Leia disappeared. During the next two weeks, the following will be at local stores: VOTC Lando, VOTC C3PO. When I visited some of the local online stores, in search of VOTCs, I have read several times the following: When a new figure comes to shelves, an earlier figure will be pulled from the wave. Princess Leia could be the first to have been pulled... If you have seen her in this past week, please let me know... Note: Local Toys R Us stores are selling other VOTCs by the hundreds... No lie. I saw approximately 15-20 Luke on a shelf, and the same equivalent for each of the others, except no Princess Leia... I saw eight Yoda and bought four. At the moment most VOTCs are not rare, and I have seen them after two or three days still on the selves... Let me know if you have a problem, I will see what I can do.”

DCSWCC: 1 Year Old and Growing
“On August 19th, 2003, the DC Star Wars Collecting Club was founded. Within 1 week membership was at 30 people, at 6 months membership was at 85, and now, 1 year later ~ 114 members and growing.

Members hail from Northern Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia; they are fans of every aspect of the Star Wars Universe. Meetings are held monthly and alternate between Virginia and Maryland. At each meeting, several members give presentations on their specific collector's focus or topic discussion, and all members have the opportunity to participate. This gives members the opportunity to learn about what others collect and might even spark a new collection area for some.

The DCSWCC is also involved in the community. Last fall they held a canned food drive to benefit the National Capitol Area Food bank, serving the DC metro Area. At the Summer Social this past July members brought more donations for the National Capitol Area Food Bank, and they donated toys, which will be presented to Children?s Hospital this fall. The DCSWCC will join the Toys R Us store in Woodbridge, VA to host the ultimate Star Wars Original Trilogy DVD release event on September 21, 2004. Club members will be on hand as the store opens up one hour early for those Star Wars fans who stop by to purchase the DVD. There will be another canned food and toy drive at this event.”

The Pride of Boise, Idaho!“Hey troops! Wal-Mart in Boise, ID had the huge cube shaped isle display today crammed full of booty. Carrying cases, Galactic Heroes playschool sets, and lots of figs, including Handstand Luke, R2 Dagobah, Tusken Raider, Jawas, TIE Fighter pilots, New Hope R2, C-3P0, Bossk, Ig-88, Yoda Dagobah, Spirit Obi-Wan, etc. No Biker Scouts, Vader or Stormtrooper though. These new cube displays have cubbyholes for the figures that are slightly too small so the cards get damaged if the employees don?t take care in stocking them. That?s too bad. Anyway- good luck on the hunt!”

Sandtrooper Bill Reports: PSWCS Celebrates 4-year Anniversary
“Today, just 273 days from Episode 3, marks the 4th anniversary of the first meeting of the Pennsylvania Star Wars Collecting Society (PSWCS.com). What started as 10 people who met at a public library near Harrisburg has grown to nearly 200 collectors from all corners of Pennsylvania who E-mail each other daily to discuss the collecting hobby. Online conversations range from reports of what has (or more commonly what has NOT) arrived at local stores, to opinions on the latest toy line to just about anything Star Wars.

Nearly monthly meetings in both the east and west halves of the keystone state allow members to interact in person and show off their latest acquisition or a cherished piece of their collection, while also sharing the story behind how it was obtained (a lucky find, an eBay deal, or on the clearance racks!).

Meetings also feature games of both skill and chance, such as Star Wars trivia or the ever-popular Ewok Toss, with winners being rewarded with member donated prizes. And then there is the trading...where members help each other acquire hard to find old, new or just missed collectibles. Bringing the product distribution cycle into balance.

Finally, a Summer Social caps each year, an expanded meeting that provides the chance for members and their families from across the entire state to gather and share in the Star Wars experience. If you live in Pennsylvania and this sound like your kind of crowd, then visit to PSWCS.com, sign up, and join us as we enter our fifth exciting year!”

Sandtrooper Dom in the Deep Woods of Wisconsin Reports:
Anyone have a 12-inch Plo Koon?“Troops, got a story I wanted to share with you. Friday, I went to the local TRU in East Central Wisconsin for the bazillionth time in the last few months looking once again for the ever-elusive Unleashed Leia. I got into a conversation with a green shirt (TRU employee) and he started telling me about some other collectors who have been coming in looking for the U. Leia. He told me about one guy with a friend who bought him two more than he wanted and the guy wanted to sell the two extra. I asked the green shirt if he would give the guy my name and number the next time he came in, figuring I'd never hear from him and never have my own metal-bikini-wearing, spear-carrying princess. Well, I figured wrong. The guy called tonight and ended up hand delivering two, count 'em two, Unleashed Leias. It was in the middle of the Packer game (can't have everything, I guess). So, I have and Unleashed Leia at about a C-6/7 for trade. What am I offered, troops? GO PACKERS! And kudos to a decent green shirt.

Sandtrooper Jason D. Meyers Reports: Working for the Weekend
“Hello Troopers! I was extremely happy to meet some of my former staff members and many of the readers for the first time this weekend at Wizard World Chicago. I want to say 'thank-you' to everyone who came out to make the event that much better! Although I see Darth Spice on a daily basis, and it's always awesome to get to see dustrho, this was my first chance to meet Amanaman Dan, reconsgt (Wayne), my former master Emperor Crypt, Trooper Dennis, and long-time trading buddy Trooper Jetfire in person! Chatting with the entrepreneurial individuals who head up many of our online sponsor stores, the crew of the 501st Garrison, Eric Walker, Steve Sansweet, Rena Owen, or those random fans just looking for a shoulder to cry on regarding toys' availability and release dates all made the event very fun and personal. I felt a little foolish having to pay the local towing company $50 otherwise spent on toys to crack open my 2004 Corvette after locking my keys inside upon arriving at the Convention, but other than that everything was truly a pleasure! Although I got to meet Snake eyes, I did miss out on the 10-foot Optimus walking around the show! I was also able to pick up all of the deals and steals that some of you wrote in requesting me to pick up for you - just watch your e-mail for a memo from me. I even met more 'dumb luck' when Mattel had an 'everyone's a Winner' event, offering all guests the opportunity to pick up a Batman or She-Ra Convention exclusive. Like Donna, I also wanted to pass on that. Zion, IL Kmart had gotten in the Cantina set last night and I picked up all three (Darth Spice and Dennis - I have a set each for you). Also, Friday the 13th saw Countryside, IL Wal-Mart receiving seven cases of OTC. Until next time Troops, United We Find!”

S.N.A.G. Trooper Eric Reports: Marmit Fett is ALL that!
“S.N.A.G. trooper Eric here. I just wanted any Boba Fett fans out there to know, if you haven't gotten one yet, the Koto Fett statue is STUNNING! I got mine last week from Hobby Link Japan and I was SO excited to see it all put together! Which took about 5 minutes as opposed to the hour it took to put the Marmit Fett together. This was worth every penny. Who cares if nothing moves on it, it is the new reigning champ of my Fett figure collection. If only Hasbro could do as good a job. Oh well. I guess a collection wouldn't be a good collection if all the figures were movie accurate. Variety is the spice of life!”

Sandtrooper Shahbaz Reports:
“Target or Walmart are empty. I can't find anything these days in So Cal unless I head to K-Mart. Sure enough, I picked up the OTC Mos Eisley Cantina set, Scene 1. The set features Dr. Evazan, Wuher and Kitik Keed'kak. I don't know if anyone else has seen these yet, but they are pretty neat, twice the size of the Jedi Council Scenes. I don't collect multi-packs, but I picked it up only because I knew to some trooper it would be a prize! So if you are interested in trading please let me know. I also have comic-con Silver Sandtroopers and Clonetroopers for trade. Happy Hunting!”

Wizard World Chicago: Day II Coverage and Photo Gallery
Hey Troops, Another day at Wizard World where names were taken and other things were kicked. It turned out to be an all around great time. If you contemplated going and did not because of lack of new product displays from Hasbro, you may be disappointed you didn?t make the trip out to the Windy City. A record crowd, an awesome presentation courtesy of Lucasfilm as well as plenty of a@# kickin? firepower from the Midwest Garrision made Saturday at Wizard World Chicago a spectacular day for any Star Wars collector!

Sandtrooper Dom in the Deep Woods of Wisconsin Reports:
Anyone have a 12-inch Plo Koon?“Spotted many new "vintage" items at the local TRU such as Obi-Wan, talking Yoda, and all the ships. Besides tons of peg warmers that I suspect will go on clearance soon, they also had 2 red-striped Unleashed Clone Troopers. If you need one, let me know and I'll see if they're still there. Still no sign of Unleashed Leia. Anybody got a 12-inch Plo Koon? And did anyone else hear about TRU going to selling clothes only? This would be in alignment with them trying to push the "Geoffrey's" name and not the Toys-R-Us name. Just wondering. Jedi (no hurricane here) Dom!”

Sandtrooper SoCal Dood Reports:
Be good to each other.“Greetings from a 90+ degree SoCal! Stopped by the local TRU in Alhambra today before work and spotted remnants of the VOTC wave and low and behold what did my eyes spy on... nothing, but the VOTC Vader that I've been searching high and low for since they came out. Left on the pegs were Han, Leia (I think) and Obi-Wan. Collecting dust was the Skirmish at Carkoon 4 pack and some older 12-inch figs. And for those that care they also had about 4 pegs worth of Marvel Legends VI. I don't collect this line, but the Juggernaut and Cable figs looked pretty neat! Wish Hasbro could do something like that, but oh well. That's it for now kiddies, and remember... be good to each other and fight the good fight. Peace, out!”

Wizard World UPDATE!!!
Hey Troops, the Wizard World 2004 page has been updated for Friday, August 13th. What some could say as superstitious or bad luck turned out to be good fortune and highly rewarding. Gentle Giant did not drop the ball, the fans came out in droves and bargains were to be found. All this done without the entertainment and amusement of Hasbro, which was very conspicuous by their absence. Make sure to check out the complete report.

Sandtrooper Jedi-Hawk Reports:
Texas S.C.A.L.P. Border Patrol“Well Troops, times are going pretty well around here. I found my first set of basic OTC figures this week at my local Target. Picked up the Dagobah wave plus a few others. Also last week I was able to pick up the VOTC Vader & Yoda from my local TRU. My Wal-Mart?s have reset the toy aisles and put out some new product. One of them put out the VOTC Wave 1 with Ben, Han, and Leia just this morning. Not any basic OTC at these Wal-Mart?s yet. But maybe soon. Also the Target has plenty of the galactic heroes sets and a few Falcons. (All 3 versions, 3-?-inch, Playskool, Lego) My TRU put out some SAGA figures today representing the Admiral Ozzel Wave. And they had a few more cases of the same they put in the back. So that is not good for TRU. Not much other news. I am looking for a Dagobah Luke Handstand Variation. Also I am asking for help from any trooper who can get me the new Kmart exclusive Cantina Scene. There is not a Kmart within 100 miles (or more) of my area. Drop me an email if you can help out. Also if anyone needs anything from this area let me know. Hunt'em Down!”

Sandtrooper Jetfire Reports: Makin' Tracks for the Windy City!
Will you just get your ass here already?“Hey troopers! Sandtrooper Jetfire reporting in here with a find in a way out K-mart that I never knew existed. All in all, a round trip of just over 100 miles. Going off a tip from a fellow trooper on the location of the first wave of VOTC, I hit the Meijers in Ionia (exit 66 on US-196/96). Figured I'd stop in at the K-mart next door and was treated with a nice surprise! Sitting there on the pegs where OTC figs 12-20! I grabbed one of each and even snagged an extra Cloud Car Pilot for my good friend Ryanthehutt. There was an R2, Bespin Leia, Lobot, and one other still on the pegs when I left. Got to say I love the Stormtrooper packaging a ton! Not much else going on here in West Michigan as we eagerly await the next wave of VOTC (Vader, Yoda, and?) Well, that's about it. Sandtrooper Jason D. Meyers Reports: Left Bruised and Beaten, Scalper's Corpse Half-Eaten
“Troopers, the past couple days of toy runs have proven to be more fruitful than others as of late. At first it had looked like I was getting hit with bruised and beaten scattershot remnants of common OTC figures, but once again Countryside, IL Target in the Quarry Shopping Center came through yesterday with two VOTC Vaders while Wal-Mart in that plaza is in the middle of reset. Across the border an unexpected surprise at Regency Mall Suncoast in Racine, WI where OTCs of pre-pistol-whipped amputated Luke, R2-D2, and TIE Fighter Pilot awaited and they had other commons too. Toys R Us and Big Kmart in Racine came up on the empty side but the TRU did have an abundance of the new Jedi Council multi-packs. I had some time to kill this morning before a traffic court appearance so I hit Target in Waukegan where I picked up two, YES TWO VOTC Lukes - one for me, one for a Trooper in need, just e-mail me! Kmart in Zion, IL is in the middle of a reset and still have sets of Galactic Heroes. Again heading toward the woods of Wisconsin, I found nothing at Wal-Mart or Shopko in Kenosha, WI, while Target in K-Town had some OTC that I needed, including Dagobah Yoda, Stormtrooper, and Blue baby blue baby Boba Fett Carkoon third repack. I'll head back out again to make that voyage to the heart of Scalperville and look forward to meeting the Legions of Sandtroopers at Wizard World Chicago this weekend. United we find!”

Sandtroopette Donna Reports:
S.C.A.L.P. Costal Defender“Hey Troops, Donna from So Cal reporting in. Local Targets are starting to reset their shelves with OTC stuff. Hitting 5 Targets over the weekend, I found all three ships (Falcon, Tie Fighter, X-wing), Galactic Heroes, GH Falcon, Ask Yoda, Unleashed Obi, 12-inch Luke and Stormtrooper (missed Boba) and VOTC figs. My best score was finding the vintage Vader and Yoda at Target. Still no sign of basic figs. Lastly, a big THANKS to John Poucher for hooking me up with the Leia glass. Happy Hunting to all!”

Sandtrooper Dead Man Inc. Reports: VOTC in Massachusetts
“VOTC character wave 1 and 2 are hitting the stores now. What I found at a local Toys R Us: VOTC Luke, Han, and Leia. What I found by traveling about an hour out of my way: VOTC Vader. Yes, Vader, Yoda, Lando, and C-3PO are out there. However, you will not find them in one location. When Toys R Us separates their waves, they don't even know what goes where. If they do not have a Vader at you store, there is a good chance that very far away another store has one. Please keep in mind; the employees at Toys R Us are also collectors. I went to a Toys R Us near Boston, and a employee, who was on the clock, was placing the VOTCs on the shelves, and was holding back a few for himself and friends. Since the manager was near by, I lucked out on that opportunity. The manager over heard a conversation the employee was having with another customer, and the employee said, "I am holding these for a friend". Next thing you know, the manager walked over to him and said, "You have to put the figures on the self, because you can't go shopping while on the clock." I guess the moral learned is: Be vigilant when buying from Toy R Us. There are also figures being held for people in the back room, which you can influence the employees at the service desk to give you. Since you are a customer, and you have cash on hand, held items automatically fall to you. Don't be fooled, there are more VOTCs out there being held in back rooms of Toys R Us for other customers who asked the employees to hold for them each week. This is against the law. It is only lawful if the items have been purchased or are on lay away. Ask a manager to check the held items; they have to give them to you. I went to a Toys R Us in Natick; I asked a Manager if he could check out back to see if there were any boxes overlooked. They had three figures in a hold section out back. The customer was going to come in to buy them the next day, the manager brought them up front, took off the hold tags, and said, "Since you are here now, and this customer isn't, first come first serve." He gave me a Vader!!!
Tips:
1. Ask the manager if there are any VOTCs being held out back.
2. If he says yes, tell him you have cash on hand, and ask him to bring them out.
3. The manager will bring the held figures out, and don't forget to say, "Thank You!"
Most older managers are on your side.”

Sandtrooper Songwrtr Reports: Ithaca ,NY Recon
“OTC has gradually been infiltrating the Ithaca Target and K-Mart. K-Mart is the lesser of the two, still sporting some older Saga figures but also the new Galactic Heroes 2-packs and OTC lightsabers and Ask Yoda. Target has the X-Wing, TIE, and Millennium Falcon, the first three VOTC (same as everywhere) plus what K-Mart has and the Galactic Heroes Millennium Falcon. They've also gotten at least two different waves of Unleashed (Kenobi/Leia and X-Wing Luke/Chewbacca/Clone Trooper), though I've only seen the "common" figures from those waves there. The glass sets have been marked down to 5.88 and I was able to pick up a second of three of the first four at that price as openers (all but the Kenobi one). No sign yet of Leia at any price, but thanks to a Sandtrooper hookup to be applauded later, I'm set there. Also no sign of the regular OTC figures, though they'll hit here eventually, I'm sure. Main reason for writing though is to report that it looks like the on-line Star Wars shop is taking criticism of its early shipments of Silver Sandtroopers to heart. I ordered mine a few days after the mass of complaints about condition rolled in. Came home today to a large box (17x9x9) with the figure wrapped in about 6 feet of bubble wrap. They even wrapped the Topps promo card in bubble wrap. Nothing was moving inside that box! It would have been better if they'd been doing that from the start, but they're obviously being much more careful now.”

Sandtrooper Jetfire and Ryan the Hutt Report: The Scalp's don't have a Chance!
A#$ kickers come in pairs!“The Calm before the Wizard World OR The Mother of all Store Reports: Well, another tag team effort here in West Michigan between Ryanthehutt and myself! Here's a breakdown of what we saw. Alpine Ave: Hit the TRU, Target, Mejiers, and Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart was by far the most aggravating as they had figs galore, even on those hanging deals that chew up cards, but they were all the Saga figs. Target had the Falcon and a few of the VOTC 12-inch. Meijers had nothing new. The TRU had the Vader TIE and the Jedi Council 3-packs. Plainfield: Hit the Meijers and the K-mart. K-mart looked as though a scalper had gone through playing Taz. A few VOTC Hans and one pack of Galactic Heroes. Meijers had nada. 28th St. Hit the TRU, target, Wal-Mart, two Meijers, and then the Suncoast in Woodland Mall. Just about more of the same except that the Suncoast had some cool Halo figs on clearance. Also had the Unleashed Chewie and X-wing Luke. The TRU had just a buttload of Vader TIE (too many to even try counting) as well as the plush buddies. Had to resist buying the Yoda. 44th St. Hit Meijers, KB, Wal-Mart, and Suncoast. Once again, pretty much more of the same. KB did have two OTC figs (the only two we saw on the whole scouting mission). Than today they had some of the first wave of VOTC, but they want $13 each. That's 30% higher than elsewhere! What a crock! The Meijers, which has been good to us up until lately, was just cleaned out. 54th St. Meijers and Target were more of the same.... hey, you try typing Hoth Rebel Trooper this many times. 68th St. K-mart had two of the blue suit 12-inch Boba. That's about it. Jenison: Hit the Meijers and Target. The Mejiers SW area was hard to find. I even went through all the endcaps just to make sure I hadn't missed it. Target however, was another story. As with all the Targets around here, they had the 12-inch Luke and Stormie, along with the Falcon, but this one had the Slave Leia cup set. Ryanthehutt picked this up for himself and walked out smiling. There was at least one more there when we left. Holland: TRU was lacking. Still lots of POTJ and the Vader TIE. Just got in the Falcon as well along with the Ask Me Yoda. Target was merely mimicking every other Target with what they had. If I remember correctly, they did have an Unleashed Leia as well. Overall, a lot of Rebel Hoth Troopers and Admiral Ozzels out there to be found. Even found a J'Quille at one of the Targets, but don't remember which one. Interesting FYI was that none of the Targets had the Clone Wars Animated figs in the area anymore. Where did they go? All in all, we hit 22 stores and came up with only the Slave Leia cup set. Hopefully we'll continue to see the OTC figs come in (especially anything after #11), but nothing so far. If anyone's looking for the grey suit Boba's, they seem to be found pretty easily around here. Anyways, hit me up if ya got an extra Y-wing (POTF2 or vintage)or a POTJ TIE Interceptor that I can take off your hands! Sandtroopers Jetfire and Ryanthehutt signing off!”

Sandwatch Figure Reviews: OTC Chewbacca and Princess Leia - Not Again!
Hey Troops, Sandwatch Action Figure Reviews are back in full effect but once again it sounds like I simply hate Star Wars collecting. However, I do love collecting Star Wars but I do not like when my intelligence is questioned. This latest installment I will try to sound happy about the re-issue of Chewbacca and Princess Leia. I will try to take sarcasm to a whole new level. If you did miss them they will soon be available on a clearance rack near you. Again I?d really like to hear what you the reader have to say about the OTC line and the constant rehashing of the figures! Maybe at some point this line will offer us up something new. Until then enter if you dare!

Force of the Bay: Gettin' Ready to Put it On 'em!
With less than four days until Wizard World Chicago, I had to try and play games at Ebay to pass the time. While getting the weapons ready to cover the event we hope until then we can help you find the more obscure pieces that elude your collection. I hope you can find something you can really sink your teeth into; you wouldn?t be the first person in some cases (read listing!). So no matter what kind of show you want to put on, you can always look to the bay as a last resort. There are so many different ways to scavenge the pieces that will set you aside from the average collector. You may be looking for something hand made to resemble our little friends, or you could even find the pieces to help you build a collection like Jawa Chris Kelso! From custom made replicas, to the most obscure movie props, all are within your reach. You can even find the prototypes from the first ?Revenge? movie! Sandtrooper Vindicator reports: You Troops Think it's Bad Down There
With the latest from the Tundra!“Hey Troops, Vindicator in with another update from BC Canada. Our Wal-Mart stores have received 2 different cases of OTC figures so far, complete with our (apparently) exclusive-to-Canada "Starburst" backgrounds. Figures 1-11 from the basic collection have been found, minus the headstand Luke. Our TRU's have stocked the first 3 VOTC figures; Jedi Council sets 1 and 2 in some locations, and the exclusive Darth Vader TIE. Things have been selling well, and restocks have been slow - either buy it when you see it, or get ready to start whining about it being gone by tomorrow. Anyone hoping to make trades for Canadian versions of the OTC figures (which were going like hotcakes on ebay there about 2 weeks ago) can message me, if I can't help you out I can find someone who can. Happy Hunting gang.”

Sandtrooper Jason D. Meyers Reports: Silver for the Troopers and Plastic Explosive for the Scalpers!
“Hi Troopers! I had some good luck this weekend on, of course, a hot tip from no one else but Lord Spice. I made a journey to Gurnee, IL Toys R Us to nab Jedi Council packs 1 and 2, thus acquiring the same tired Qui-Gon you've been hearing about. I also grabbed for Spice and I, the last two G.I. Joe Cobra Urban Assault Division 6-packs (repainted eighties Storm Shadow, Nullifier, Scrap Iron, et al.). Wal-Marts and Targets came up empty again this time out. Thanks to Trooper Jedimaster-C for the message and to Darth Spice for the trade, getting me that silver Sandtrooper to add to my gold one. Sandtrooper greetings to Trooper Jetfire; I hope you're ready to transform and roll out to make the trip from north of Detroit to way south of Heaven for Wizard World this coming weekend. Keep up the good fight Troops and eliminate the scalper element in your hometown.”

Sandtrooper Logan 5 Reports: It's all about Details
“Here's the scoop from NE Ohio. I found a new case of OTC at my Wal-Mart tonight, Ratio 8.25. The case had 2 Bossk, 2 IG-88, 2 Bespin Luke, 1 TIE Pilot, 1 Jedi Luke, 1 Dagobah Luke (standing), ANH R2D2, Dagobah R2D2, and Yoda. Also over the weekend I spotted VOTC Luke at a Kmart somewhere out in Cleveland, but I skipped for now. For Transformers collectors I'd like to mention I spotted Crystal Widow and Oil Slick in a boxed set for $19.99 at three Kmart?s in the Cleveland area, a super sweet looking set. Saw 3x 12-inch VOTC Luke and a 12-inch Boba Fett at the Super Kmart in Mentor. Oh and last week I spotted the new Unleashed Slave Leia x3 at Mayfield Target. That's all, catch ya on the flipside, Sandtrooper Loganfive.”

S.C.A.L.P. Costal Defender“Sandtroopers in Tampa Bay take note...I have several pieces of news to report gathered from my last week of searching for new items. Palm Harbor Target off Tampa road has all VOTC waves one minus Luke, All OTC up to Wicket, the OTC lightsabers, Millennium Falcon, TIE, X-Wing, Ask Yoda, and VOTC 12-inch Luke. Super Target off Gulf to Bay also has OTC figs, Bespin and Dagobah waves. K-Mart off 19 and Main has 12-inch VOTC Luke and Galactic Heroes. Toys R Us just up the road from here is pretty much a wash. They had the falcon and also the first of the Jedi Council assortment. That?s all the news in the Clearwater area. Thanks! Before I go a quick favor to ask of my comrades... I am desperately searching for a Leia Unleashed in new packaging. I have heard they are plentiful in other parts of the country so if you can pick one up for me please let me know.”

Sandtrooper Forcehunter reports:
“Sandtrooper Forcehunter reporting in again sirs! My recon to Orange Park was semi-eventful. The Super Target yielded no sign of the VOTC figs, but they did have the Darth and Luke Lightsabers in VOTC packaging as well as the Ask Yoda doll. Plenty of Falcons and Ties. For the felow G.I. Joe Collectors, they did have the Comic 3 packs: 1 and 2, no sign of three. I am thinking of going back to build up my COBRA Infantry. Suncoast in the Orange Park Mall did have an unusual stock they had quite a few of the Unleashed line including Emperor, Luke (jedi Outfit), Obi-Wan, and Slave leia. Never saw em there before. Sandtrooper Jake Reports: Massachusetts Recon Mission
“Hello all - it's been a long time since I posted, but I thought I'd give the Massachusetts Troopers a round up. TRU in Framingham had VOTC Han, Leia, and Obi-Wan, as well as the Falcon and the X-Wing. Plenty of Saga and POTJ figures still sitting on the pegs - some of those figures have been there for over a year! Wal-Mart in Framingham had absolutely no figures at all. They have been very skimpy on SW merchandise over the past year. Target had the VOTC Obi-Wan, Han, and Leia as well as a few of the collector cup sets. KB in the Natick Mall was relatively bare as well. Sorry I didn't have better news! Have a great weekend all! ”

Still hanging from the pegs was VOTC Han, Leia and Obi Wan. They also had the Leia glass and if I remember correctly an Ask Yoda. For those who collect the Justice League, Target also had the 10-inch Aguaman and Wonder Woman. That's all for now.”

“Hi Troops! I made the trek from LaGrange, IL to Racine, WI and back again, blowing past tall ships, 747s, L-Trains and twisted brown truckers to make a small score at the Racine Target. I caught the remnants of an OTC case and was able to pick up Dagobah's Luke, R2 and Ben, and OTC X-Wing Luke and C-3PO. This store also had the Unleashed wave and the Falcon. Meanwhile, Wal-Mart in The Quarry shopping Plaza (Countryside/Hodgkins/LaGrange/Lyons) got a Hall of Shame case and Saga case containing Tanus and J'Quille. LucasArts Update: Battlefront Site Goes LIVE!
Image DescriptionLucasArts has recently announced the unveiling of the official site for the upcoming Star Wars video game... Battlefront. This game is scheduled to be released on September 21, 2004, and will be available for PS2, Xbox and PC. On the site you'll be able to learn more about the game, see screenshots and movie trailers from all the various platforms, and soon be able to download what I'm assuming will be desktop wallpapers and sreensavers. So, saddle up the Dewback, get your gear in order, and prepare yourself for the ride of your life, because Battlefront will be here before you know it.

Be sure to talk about this in our forum.

Sandtrooper Forcehunter Reporting: Back for duty Sir!
“First off, I had a blast at Joe con 2004. Trooper Tessman, I apologize for the delay in shipping quotes, check your e-mail in the next two days in order to get your con premiums. Now my report. Jacksonville Florida is getting hit with the VOTC. My squadron and I have found thus far: VOTC Obi Wan, Han, and Leia. I myself have seen the Falcon and VOTC Kenobi at the new Super target on Roosevelt Blvd. Still no signs of Lobot or the Cloud car Pilot. I must ask a personal favor. I do not collect the 12-inch figures, but it appears that the grey Fett is very elusive and my squadron commander is not having good luck. If anyone finds an extra VOTC grey Fett, please let me know.”

Some Silver ST's Arrive Okay!
Troops, I'm the first person to kick sand in a hellstorm, but I ordered the Silver Sandtrooper twice and out of six figures only two I would have considered unsatifactory. I also heard from Dom from Wisconsin today and he also told me his order checked out. Seems the shipping problems have been taken care of and StarWarsShop.com is doing everything they can to take care of collectors. Including refunds no matter if you purchased before or after the disclaimer was posted. Good luck and I wouldn't let the horror stories scare you away from the second best silver figure!

“Hey Troopers, If anyone wants these variations please send me an e-mail and I'll see what I can do for you. To date I have seen 4 cases of these at my Wal-Mart in North Bay, Ontario, Canada. Hasbro Update... VOTC Chewbacca
VOTC ChewbaccaHasbro sure has done a great job at keeping the news coming in today, as they have recently releasd new images of the upcoming VOTC version of Chewbacca. This figure, like the Boba Fett and Stormtrooper figures, is by far one of the best Chewbacca figures made to date! He comes with 15 points of articulation, and the only thing he doesn't come with is real fur. If you want to read more about this or see more images click here.

Republic Commando... UPDATE!
Republic CommandoLucasArts has recently added more content to their official "Star Wars: Republic Commando" website. They have added more screenshots and artwork, but the biggest thing they added was a trailer of the game (which lasts a few minutes). It is actual video game footage and it puts you right into the battle, just as if you were a true Republic Commando. In the preview you are up against Battled Droids, Super Battle Droids, Geonosian Warriors and many other enemies. You're also taken on a mission through the forest of Kashyyyk, where you're fighting side-by-side with Wookies. This game is scheduled to be released in February 2005 for the Xbox and PC. Read more about this here, and be sure to speak your mind about this game in our forum.

Sandtrooper Jedi-Hawk Reports:
Central TX S.C.A.L.P. Covert Operations“Well finally some good news in the now hot and humid central TX area. As I rolled into my local Target yesterday, I turned the corner into the action figure aisle to see a lot of beautiful Black & Silver. They had stocked a lot of new stuff. Granted not one Basic Figure from the OTC. But they did have Tie Fighter & X-Wing ($17.99ea), Millennium Falcon ($49.99), All 3 12-inch figures ($29.99ea), Unleashed Wave w/ Obi & Leia ($14.99ea), Ask Yoda ($19.99), Galactic Heroes sets ($4.99ea) and the Galactic Heroes Millennium Falcon ($29.99). So it was a lot of stuff. I only picked up a few things, but it was really nice to see the OTC. I still have not seen ANY basic OTC figures in my area. I hope that I am not missing them. Also my TRU has not gotten anything new in a few weeks. Wal-Mart is resetting the toy area and has nothing new at all. Hopefully once they reset, there will be some new bounty. Well just wanted to let everyone know that Target is hot for now. If anyone needs a Unleashed Slave Leia, drop me a line and I can try to hook you up. (Still on the pegs at Target) Later Troops, and as usual...Hunt'em Down.”

Sandtrooper Starfox Reports:
One Bad A#$ Texan!“Another Central Texas report from Killeen, TX...Target has reset their toy department and today we have Unleashed Leia & Ben, VOTC Ben, Han & Leia, OTC Falcon, X-Wing & Tie Fighter and a bunch of older Saga figs, no OTC figs around yet. Wal-Mart has Unleashed Red Clone Trooper, Chewbacca & Pilot Luke, one VOTC Leia, some older Saga figs and the same 20+ Zam Wessels from 2001! K-Mart still has the 12-inch Luke, but the Fett's are long gone and a few of the Galactic Heroes left. TRU has the OTC Falcon, X-Wing, Tie Fighter and Vader's Tie Fighter, plus the "ask me" Yoda, a bunch of older SAGA figs and exclusive 4 packs, and Council Scene 1, no OTC figs here either. That?s all from Central Texas, Starfox signing out...”

Sandtrooper General Jason D. Meyers Reports: Words from the Prodigal Son
Wal-Mart in the Countryside Plaza in Countryside, Illinois got a case of eight VOTC figures yesterday (3x Ben, 3x Han, 2x Leia) and nearly sold out of the twelve-inch figures from late last week, while the Target in the same complex got in more Millenium Falcons and sold out of their VOTC stock from last week. Back up in the northeast quadrant of the State, Zion K-mart put out more Galactic Heroes as reported by Trooper Dennis. Judging from Dennis' reports, we probably just missed each other; next time Dennis, let's enforce some vigilante-style justice upon the local scalper element in Gurnee! I'll keep everyone updated on new shipments in these areas and will gladly help out any Troopers who need it.

Sandtrooper Master Fett Reports: Loyal Fans Who Are Taken Advantage of
“Hello fellow Troopers I?d like you all to take a look at this email I sent to Hasbro, perhaps more people will do the same and maybe something will change?
Hello, I would like to request that HASBRO take more care in the quality of their card backing for Star Wars action figures. I have recently heard in several forums that the exclusive Sandtrooper figure has been shipped damaged, if the people at HASBRO want the fans continued devotion to collecting they should maintain better quality control. A figure that cost $9.99+S&H should be mint! The people at starwarsshop.com have said they cannot guarantee mint condition of the product as they receive it directly from HASBRO. So it sounds like Hasbro needs to talk to starwarsshop.com and figure out how to bring fans an exclusive that is not damaged. I do realize that you cannot guarantee product condition at retail stores as they can take damage by store employees or customers however they are only $4.99 to $5.99, as an exclusive figure cost is much higher plus shipping cost. So I respectfully request that Hasbro listens to the fans and seek a solution to this problem. Also on a different matter I think Hasbro should try to meet demand better, for instance certain figures I had to pay 3 times retail plus S&H at an online retailer because they never came to my area or was a very limited distribution to the stores. As I think it is deplorable, I have heard that this is intentional because Hasbro has a deal with these online retailers that would answer the question why they get shipments before local retailers as I hope this is untrue I believe this matter needs to be looked into. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for looking into this matter.”

Hasbro Update: VOTC Boba Fett
VOTC Boba FettBoba Fett, the baddest bounty hunter in the galaxy, is being released in plastic form like never before! Hasbro has recently releasd new images of the upcoming VOTC version of Boba Fett. This figure blows all other Star Wars figures away, and is by far the best Boba Fett figure made to date! This bad boy comes with 18 points of articulation, realistic gauntlets, a paint color scheme that is very accurate to that of Boba Fett in ROTJ, and I've saved the best part for last... Boba Fett finally has a realistic-looking rocket pack. It is truly a work of art. Will Star Wars collectors have a chance at finding this great figure in stores? I would certainly hope so. If not, there's always the loyal members of Sandtroopers.com, who fight a good battle against the Scalper race. United We Find!!! To read more about this click here.

Sandtrooper Dom in the Deep Woods of Wisconsin Reports:
Deep in the woods, sights on scalpers“The latest from the East Central Wisconsin TRU: As I walked in an odd yet somehow familiar smell filled my nostrils. Was it scalper blood? Bantha fodder? No. It was...an opened box marked Hasbro sitting in front of the clothing section. I approached it with reserved excitement, my heart already racing. A quick check over my shoulder let me know that no scalper scum was in the immediate vicinity. I casually opened the flaps and saw blue cards. These were not OTC figures but at least they were Star Wars. Could these be the legendary Madine, Calrissian, AT-ST Solo figures which were told to exist only out west somewhere? Just as I was about to check, a green-shirted employee asked if I needed any help, but all I heard was him asking to see my identification. With an inconspicuous wave of my fingers I told him that I was fine and mind-tricked him into checking the condition of the Barbie aisle. When I at last checked the box again I was disappointed to find K-3POs, R1-G4s, and Hoth Troopers. As I turned to leave my Jedi senses flared. How could I forget to check the action figure aisle? Of course! That's where I would find the bounty for which I searched. I could almost see the Unleashed Leias now. However, when I got there that was not meant to be. It was more of the same figures that had been hanging there for two months. There was a light side to all this. They had both new Jedi Council scenes, all the OTC vehicles, "vintage" talking Yodas, and all the new "vintage" plush buddies. I got the Jedi Council scene 2 leaving the rest for fellow troopers. I slowly walked to my speeder mentally daring scalpers to get in my way as my blaster was cranked to maximum and my trigger finger was itchy. Take care troops and may the force be with you.”

(Falmouth) Kmart - Local Kmart?s in Mass were told they will not be carrying VOTCs, nor did they have any Star Wars figures in stock. (Locations searched: Braintree and S. Attleboro, but not all.) Benny's - Limited amount of A New Hope and Empire Strikes back (Gold, Blue, and White Card) Toys R Us - VOTC Han, Obi-Wan, Falcon, X-Wing, Vader TIE Fighter (All over MA.) I am heading to Toys R Us today, and I will keep you posted. Update 8/03:“Yesterday, Toys R Us did a big revamping of their shelves. Sandtrooper Larry Reports: Teaching the Way
Master Chief of Mentor, Ohio“Hey Troops! Trooper Larry reporting. Took the Padawan out for his first recon mission over the weekend. We hit TRU in Mentor first. Walked away with the new OTC Falcon, but that was about it. They had two of the Jedi council with Qui-Gon, but none with Obi. Also had the OTC Vader Tie x1. Wal-Mart in Mentor, Eastlake, and Strongsville are empty. Targets in Eastlake, and Strongsville are also empty, with a few animated figs hanging around for $4.98. Suncoast in Mentor had OTC Lobot, and Leia Bespin, but not much else. KB in Mentor had nothing more than a few Gamorean Guards, and the 4-packs hanging around. Although we were able to get the Padawan his own Millennium Falcon, that way he doesn?t use the dark side of the force and demolish mine when he gets older. That?s it for this report troops.

Just a side note, for SoCal Dom, according to the Star Wars Insider #77, there is a total of 38 OTC figures. Also, they have a checklist on Hasbro.com, and StarWars.com.”

Sandtrooper Jedi Master-C reports:
Are they still making these?“One of or Wal-Mart?s got in the 12-inch VOTC figures. I must say that these are nice. I put the Stormtrooper and Boba on layaway. I wasn't too thrilled with Luke however. He looks kind of dorky. Also, I saw to cases of the VOTC figures at the same store. What puzzled me was that the case the figures came in was not clearly marked. I saw on the label it said vintage figures and there where 8 of them. I saw several cases of the Vintage collection at the Target warehouse where I work. They where clearly marked. Just thought I would point that out. Take care guys.”

Sandtrooper SoCal Danny B reports:
“Danny B here from So.Cal with a report. Target is resetting their toy counters this week so the VOTC is hitting stores NOW. The vintage styles ones hit this morning and are gone already. Wal-Mart is also getting in the OTC collection I was able to pick up all of they ones they had thanks to a friendly employee. I nervously pushed my cart to the layaway line for fear of some scalper or any other unscrupulous character questioning whom I got them from as I successfully pulled off operation Trilogy Phase 1. There is only 1 of each figure per case I believe, I was too nervous to even look at them. I also have a late Comic-Con report. Everything was great and the Star Wars area had lots of things and goodies. Here is some of what they gave way. Galactic Heroes Scout Trooper, Topps EP III promo card, Clone Wars promo card, Elite Stormtrooper mini figure W/ card. Republic Commando patches, Original Trilogy poster. Code 3 Collectibles bumper sticker. Republic Commando post card, Clone Wars Cartoon Comic book and Unleashed figure card backs of Bossk, Tusken Raider and Aayla Secura. I also bought my Silver Sandtrooper and my EP III Revenge of the Sith T-Shirt. Saturday was probably the busiest day of the four days. Good to hear from Donna in So. Cal and her report as well as my other So.Cal peeps. Good luck this week troops in the toy aisles.”

Action Figure Reviews are back: Half a Sandwatch is better than No Sandwatch
Sandtroopers.com would like to announce the re-birth of Sandwatch Action Figure Reviews. Formerly headed by the General Jason Meyers, I will now take the privilege of hosting the show myself. For those of you new to Sandwatch you will find possibly there could not be a more honest critique of Star Wars figures on the net. For those of you who asked for months what happened to and where are they at, I begin with the OTC line and look for weekly installments from here on out. I really enjoyed getting this section ready, as this was one of my first duties here at Sandtroopers. Hope you all enjoy. Enter if you dare!

Vintage OTC Luke added to Images Section
If only they had this much sense in '77The 2004 Images section has been updated with Luke Skywalker from the Original Trilogy Vintage Carded line. For me this figure is pretty special seeing it was the very first Star Wars figure I ever owned. While the tip broke off and years later was lost, this new version will bring us all back to yesterday when collecting was easy and scalpers stuck to concert tickets. Stay tuned later on this week for Darth Vader and Yoda from the VOTC line. Thanks to Alliance Collectibles for the sample.
