Sandtrooper Marc with COAST TO COAST A.M.
"Hey Jason, I'd just like to say a big thanks to John C. in Western New York for hooking me up with an Imperial Shuttle, saving close to $100 on this item, and also getting me a corrected Throne Luke and Droid 3-pack ... he is a great guy to deal with, and, to boot, he gave me a free bloody metal pin Bespin Luke which blew me away since I never saw one before in person. Us Canadians have gotten the big shaft on getting new stuff in since the turn of 2003, with the help of John C. I have been able to keep my collection growing. Regards!"

You bet Marc! We thank you too, John! That is some typical appropriate Trooper behavior, nothing more than a serious case of RTT (real trooper trust) as Julian would say. Slammin' guys.

Sandtrooper THE CHAD reports:
"Hey guys, I wanted to let you know that WA-7, Lt. Faytonni, and Palptine (I thought he was kind of lame) have hit Huntsville, Alabama. So,I you live in my area, they have arrived. Our Target got in the wave that includes the Boba Fett Carkoon, the Rebel Trooper, the Imperial Officer, the red Battle Droid and so on. That's about it. I haven't seen the ARC trooper. Hopefully he will show up. Now, before people start telling me 'I told you so,' I am sorry for the "whining" and that kind of thing. Again, it is not directed at anyone, I just get frustrated very easily. On a side note, I found the Jedi army (ed. note - that's big news for being a sidebar!). Take care."

Mutual of Omaha's AISLE KINGDOM with Sandtrooper Lin Que:
"Lin Que once again with the Midwest report. It was a pretty good day. After watching The Two Towers for like the 9th time I was motivated to go out looking for stuff. I hope Lucas paid close attention to the Battle of Helm's Deep. That is how a battle should be. Lucas is gonna hafta step his game up with Jedi fighting if he wants to impress me after seeing the action at Helm's Deep. The Return of the King conflict is looking like it's gonna be even better. I crossed the river into Iowa and found nothing at the mall. A stop at the Gordman's in Council Bluffs yielded new MOTU figs series one repaints, Buzz Off, and the new Man At Arms. As happy as I was, I knew I had just missed out on Evil Lyn. The Wal-Mart next door had Secret Ceremony Anakin x3, and bent Snowtrooper and Darth Tyranus. I also picked up a Traveling Bilbo because I'm on a major hunt for LOTR figs now.

"Crossing back over to Omaha I decided to check out the Gordman's by my place. They had not one, but two, yes two Evil Lyns. One was shot to hell and good for an opener the other is now part of my collection. Wal-Mart had the new (old) Armada repainted figs which look like crap as far as I'm concerned ... ditch Universe and bring on Energon and Alternators already (ed. note - Agreed, who at Hasbro thought that a red and umber Optimus Primal repaint was a slick idea?!)!!! There were lots of new MOTU figs at Gordmans so if anybody would like one please let me know. Hey everyone has to check out It's this site dedicated to this overweight 15 y/o who decided to pretend a golf club was a lightsaber in front of a school camera. He forgot to erase his "performance" so it ended up on the web. People have taken it and added special effects and it is funny as hell. Check it out, you'll be glad you did (ed. note - I've seen this and it's rather funny, yet how many of us have been thrown out of a bar for doing the same thing with a pool cue?). If anyone is interested in my trades from my earlier post please email me. Walking the earth with three shadows - Lin Que."

Sandtroopette Lisette reports:
"Hi Troopers, Lisette from NYC reporting in. I went to the TRU in Times Square last night on a SW run for a fellow trooper and found Chewbacca Mynock Hunt, C-3P0 Tatooine Ambush, Snowtrooper The Battle of Hoth and R2-D2 Droid Factory. This was the first time I've seen these figures. Although I missed out on Luke Skywalker Throne Room Duel, I went back today with my nephew and was able to find him. I was also lucky enough to find the Jedi Knights 3 pack as well as a blue and green Clone Trooper Army 3 pack."

I just wanted to give a big shout out to two great troopers that have shown their true colors by distributing the goods across the country.

From the shaky land of California, Chicanodom comes to represent. This guy was so amazingly helpful and showed so much friendliness he sent me two Bounty Hunters 4-packs, very well packed, weeks before I was able to help him out with the trade. That is nothing more than a serious case of RTT (real trooper trust) for that I'm thankful and count me in Dominic, as one of your future trading "Doods."

Last but not least is another Orange Paldron Trooper. Word goes out for Sithryan from Boise, Idaho, who so carefully packed two Jedi Army 3-packs and sent them to me in pristine condition. He is another example of proper conduct, responsibility and adequate trooper behavior. Thanks Ryan! I have your number and you have mine ... Keep in touch, Trooper!

Have no fear, if your trading ventures ever take you to any of these troopers, you are guaranteed a safe and sound trade!

Sandtrooper JimsJedi reports:
"Found some goodies the last couple of days. Already have them for my own collection, but I picked up a few extras for trade. Please check out my haves and wants in the forums. Some items available for trade are Wat, Coleman, Padme (Wedding), Lama with Clone child, Red Battle Droid, and the somewhat hard to find Clone Trooper 3 Pack with green trim. I also found out today by another collector friend that my local Wal-Mart had the new figures of the Emperor, and the WA-7 Droid. By the time I got to open his e-mail it was well over half of the day, and didn't bother to check to see if they were still there. But at least they are coming. Also, my Sandtroopers T-shirt has really caught some eyes. Whenever I'm on a toy run, I'm always asked about the site, and hopefully have steered them in the right direction. Drop me a line if you want to trade. Later Troops."

Greetings fellow Floridian trooper Botany 500, are things as scarce up in Boynton as they are here in the Drylands of Miami? Here is the question you asked and my answer to it:
"I was wondering whether anyone has noticed the Jango Fett Kamino Escape variation, where the armor is gray instead of silver, and, if so, how rare is it and what is the value? I also have a Dexter Jettser with no backround insert that is missing its tattoos on its right top hand (rareness value if you know or readers). I have a Baby Boba Fett with background insert whos helmet's black line that goes through the middle is there, but doesn't extend on the sides (rareness value?)."
Caution. You are about to enter a no-scalper zone ...I can tell you this much; value is in the eyes of the beholder or .... is it in the eyes of whom will hold it? The buyer, that is. An error or variation has as much value as that someone is willing to pay for it. Of course to you a certain figure might have much more value, since it involves sentimental reasons. After all you found it or you traded for it, you saw it first. It was your score, not an easy one and you feel your effort needs compensation. It is understandable.

With this said, it is difficult to set a price tag on the figures you'd mentioned but I'll provide you with some values based only on rareness.

The Jango Fett with gray armor was a first run version. As you've described it, the outfit's paint scheme was dull gray. It was then replaced by a brighter more accurate one but the error was not at all that hard to allocate. Chances were if you bought your AOTC figures early you might had picked him up. Notice I call the oddity an error not a variation. The reason for this being such change in color was not intended by Hasbro. In other words, in order for a toy to be classified as a variant, its cosmetic changes need to be intended by the company, for instance the Endor Rebel soldier with or without a beard was/is a variation. Jango with "Gray Armor" was a mishap, a mistake in the mixing of the color, just like the Saga Boba Fett "Pit of Carkoon" is. The street value of your Jango could be anywhere between $10.00 to $25.00 depending on its card condition. People have paid up to $50.00 for it, but it had been rated by AFA, ebay becomes a good source for comparison and a very accurate one in these cases as one could easily see up to the minute bids on what the secondary market is willing to pay for errors and variations.

Your second possession is, indeed, rare. Rare, just as far as being an error, of course. I personally have only seen the error once and it was in all beat up cardback thus I left it behind. There haven't really been any other reports on this mistake. Although it is not hugely noticeable it might fetch quite a nice amount in the secondary market just because it sounds cool. It is funny but sometimes errors gain so rapidly in value not because of how weird it might make a figure appear but because of how cool it would sound to say: "I have a Dexter missing his tattoos" or "my Luminara has an unpainted necklace." Us humans are strange creatures, and strangely we behave at times. As for its street value, I would set it at starting point of $40.00 but heck, that is just my opinion. People, as I said, might be willing to give you more or less for it, depending on how bad they want it. A search through Ebay under Active and Completed items does not show any Dexter errors other than the well known "Pipe" one. It is a nice error, treat it with TLC.

Last on your repertory was Baby Boba with half painted helmet lines. Again, willingness and wanting play an important roll here. I have heard about this error a fair amount of times thus it does not appear to be truly rare. Whether the line is painted only on one side of his helmet, or faded within the silver paint or oversprayed, the error qualifies as one: Boba Fett's helmet lines. It is usually overlooked and not given much importance to it, since in the first place, the helmet line on the regular version doesn't stand out much and sort of blends in with the darker silver paint used on it. People are more willing to let go of their green say if the error would deal with an unpainted visor or unpainted silver since such areas are clearly visible and cover more of the helmet. As for the street value of this figure I would say in between $10.00 to $15.00 depending on the buyer.

As with any variants an errors, it is good to keep in mind that just like Location is the key word in real state when selling a property, Condition plays that same roll when it comes to carded figures. If all of your errors are in mint cards with no bends, creases, tears and no dimples nor dings to the blisters, the value on them will increase. We like to buy new, fresh, flawless items, even more if it involves paying above what the figures actually retailed for.

Mutual of Omaha's AISLE KINGDOM with Sandtrooper Lin Que:
"Lin Que once again with a brief post before my Omaha report tomorrow. I got my Sandtroopers shirt a few days ago and I just wanted to say thanks. I will wear the shirt with pride. I have some items I would like to trade with someone. I have a Matrix Reloaded Twin 2, Comic Con Ultimate Spider Man, Gray Hulk and variant Black Spiderman with Venom. I also have a Battle of the Planets pearl coated Jason. I will trade the above for a MOTU Evil Lyn, LOTR Elrond or Prologue Elf warrior. I think I'm offering up some pretty good items so anyone interested please get in touch with me. I also have a Gold Card Snowtrooper that I would like to trade for a Secret Ceremony Anakin. Take care troops and my report will be posted tomorrow. Oh, has anyone seen EP II on cable yet??? Scalpers couldn't be stars even if they got thrown by Chinese ninjas."

Sandtrooper Satan's Teddybear aka "The Devil's Ewok" reports:
"Cool! I was the lucky winners of a Long Saber Luke from the contest! Bad: I already have one from the "old days" (1st new SW I ever bought!) Well, my dad used to say "When life gives you lemons, cut em' into little slices and squeeze the juice into people's eyes, why the $#@%@! should I suffer alone?" In other words, I'm sharin' the wealth, I'm not much into variants, I'm an opener, but I figure (HA!) a Sandtrooper brother or sister out there could use LS Luke! I'm a simple man, I'm looking for 1 of the newer figures (Or one of the newer Simpson's I'm not a picky man). Anyone interested e-mail me!"
If I wink at your girl and she smiles back ...

Brought to you by the Extensive Enterprises team

Here are some shots of a diorama that was built to be sold. Yes you heard me right. I feel there are a lot of people out in Star Wars land that want to display loose figures in dioramas but don't have the time or the skills to present them in that fashion, that is where we come in. This particular diorama was conceived by myself, and built by my friend Troy and I. It has hidden lights above each scene and it is constructed entirely from foamcore and weighs less then 10 pounds, yet it is very strong. Troy and I really enjoy doing this sort of thing and plan on doing a lot more in the near future. So if you like it and would like to know more about it just e-mail me for more details. This WILL be up for auction at ebay in the near future. PEACE, and MTFBWY!

Sandtroopers Forces growing stronger:
We would like to take the time to thank all of you for giving one of the most successful months in history. It truly was a spectacular time. The Unity, trading and upcoming S.C.A.L.P. missions are about to bring us to an entire new level. We are also looking at ways to cover every major show in the manner Chicago was assaulted this year. We established a way to identify each other and are working on a way to get that out to everyone. With each advance, we feel as though we are just getting started. We are looking forward to helping all Sandtroopers fill those nasty holes in their collections. We do not need to know everything you have and attempt to put dollar values on it. Remember, "We don't need to see YOUR identification!" Just send in your news and we'll be glad to pass it on to a fellow collector in need. United We Find!

Tomorrow sees the arrival of the Lehigh Valley shipping manifests, so fingers crossed for the next Truck day! Sandtrooper Botany 500 reports:
Sandtrooper Jason sees through you soft-willed, weak-minded, namby-pamby, second-guessers. Now, bow down and tremble why do’t you? A wood-paneled station wagon has been dispatched to take you to the nearest mental facility for evaluation by staff psychiatrist, Dr. Foster. You dig?"Hi troopers. I am a constant reader of your site, well, have been for the past few weeks. I was wondering whether anyone has noticed the Jango Fett Kamino Escape variation, where the armor is grey instead of silver (ed. note - yes, this one was rather prominent among variants), and, if so how rare is it and what s the value? I also have a Dexter Jettser with no backround insert that is missing its tattoos on its right top hand (rareness value if you know or readers). I have a Baby Boba Fett with background insert whos helmet's black line that goes through the middle is there, but doesn't extend on the sides (rareness value?). Last but not least, There are some blue Clone Trooper 3 packs at my TRU in Boynton Beach, FL and some Bounty Hunter 4 packs. My Wal-Marts and Targets haven't got Shizzle. Wonderful site and great news and honest, freindly people. Keep up the great work. Thanks."

Julian H. Betancourt will answer all of your variation questions after these messages. As for the rareness values? - We already know - Priceless. Word.

"Hey! Lo and behold, NEW FIGURES in Indy!!!!!! Just a day after I write yet another rant about not finding anything, I found the Clone Wars Yoda, ARC Trooper and Anakin Pilot at the TRU on East Washington Street. Target has gotten a few cases of the Carkoon Boba Fett wave if anyone still needs them. Other than that, keep fighting the good fight! (S.C.A.L.P. that is...) MTFBWY!!!"

Sandtrooper Andrew reports:
"Well I am finally going to send in a report. I have been an daily reader of this site for almost 2 years and this will be my first reporting. But sad to say it is not much. There has been a good flow of stuff coming through my local Target in Central Texas, but it seems to have slowed down the last 2 weeks. Also my TRU is not getting anything except the Bounty Hunter Sets for the past 2 weeks. My Walmarts are a joke by the way, I mean, the best they have to offer is a clearance TiIEBomber for $4 off the original $29?? So anyway. Just thought I would FINALLY add something to this great site. I am also sending out a request for anyone who could help me pick up an Unleashed Leia or Darth. They never hit my area, skipped completely at my TRU, and they are the only ones I am missing. Anyway, good luck on the searches. MTFBWY"

Andrew, first off ... welcome to the garrison brother! Second, you starting to send in news after 2 years of reading is not unusual for us. Most troops are like you and think they may not have "news-worthy" material when nothing could be farther from the truth! We hope to see a ton more posts from you Andrew and to those troops that have been holding off ... COME ON AND GET IN THE FRAY!!! Sandtroopers wants your store reports and news!!!
Dialtone would be proud

Jedi review posted
Hey Troops, I just posted my review of Dark Horse's Jedi Aayla Secura. So far this Jedi series has been excellent and what can be better than a story about our favorite blue Twi'lek? Come on, she is so cool that George Lucas decided to put her in movies just from seeing her picture! And to make things even better, another popular female character makes an appearance in this story. For more, click here.

Sandtrooper SoCal Dude reports:
"  'Sup fellow Troops! I've just started to post on this site recently and I think this is one of the best sites for collectors out there. I'm not sure whether this is the right place for this, but I would like to work out a trade with a fellow Trooper. I'm looking for a Gentle Giants convention BLUE Clone Trooper. I have a Toy Fair Vader (MOC), JLA Hawkgirl figure (MOC) and I think I have an extra Silver Anniversary R2-D2 figure (MOC) around here as well. I may have other figures for trade for the bust that I can throw in as well, just ask. Thanks to all you fellow Troops and long live S.C.A.L.P. !"

Throw in a BOT-CON exclusive Windrazor and Sandstorm, a can of sliced carrots and some plastic baggies, and you can have mine. Barring that, any takers out there in Trooperland?

Sandtrooper Brian L. reports:
"Hey! Not much new in Indy. It's about as dry as the Dune Sea here. I did find the new green Clone Trooper 3 packs at 2 different Meijer stores yesterday. That's about all here. What's up with TRU and Wal-Mart (Other than they suck!)? They are supposed to be the two largest toy retailers in the nation and haven't had anything new in months! If it weren't for finding a few new things at Target once in a while, there wouldn't be anything at all out there! Happy Hunting, and good luck! No, really, good luck finding anything at all. MTFBWY!"

Sandtrooper Drizzit reports:
"Just wanted to send in a report for Waukesha, WI. Made a run yesterday and found the local Wally World pegs filled with the Han Hoth wave. If anyone is looking for these hurry in quickly before the local scalpers, minions of darkness, get them for his shop. Also wanted to say that chuppernicus is a great guy who hooks me up when the going gets rough. It’s easier to search SE WI with more than one trooper sharing the load.

Excellent work, the S.C.A.L.P. divisions are setting up all over the midwest. I am pleased with the movement of our operations. Myself, along with the boys in the 24/7 will handle the activity along the border.

Sandtrooper So Cal Jedi Dom reports:
"Jedi So Cal Dom here: I wanted to give a shout out to the "other Jedi Dom" up in Wisconsin. He bought the last Ultimate Bounty 4 pack off me. Thanks, and hope to help again. I also wanted to send a shout out to fellow trooper Julian (from Florida) who hooked me and a fellow trooper up with the 3rd wave of Star Tours figures. Hey, the more trades I make, the more I can trust a lot of you. Glad to see that honesty besides altruism exists within this site.

"I am in need of some help. I have just started collecting the Unleashed figures within the last month and I have put a huge dent in finding all of them. As of right now, I need only 2. Mace Windu and Slave Leia. I have seen the prices on the Leia's and have to wonder why these are so high. I remember 10 months ago seeing these warm shelves and pegs, and now, why so much?? Anyways, I am looking to trade for both or one, or buy them off somebody. I hope they are mint, and hopefully someone out there can help. Please let me know. I am also looking for the clone trooper 3-packs with the all white clones as well as the GREEN 3-pack. Anyone with these would help a lot too. Has anyone found the RED 3-pack? Let me know."

Thanks Dom, and thanks also to Jedi Dom in the Woods of Wisconsin and my good friend and collaborator Julian in the Bowels of Hell (Miami, Florida) for the outstanding S.C.A.L.P. action. Again, if you aren't getting anything out of, then you ARE NOT using!

The News that Gets you the News

Since we just got a report from a new reader in New York City, it's time for another South Allentown, PA report where Sandtrooper Jason is broadcasting Trooper waves through the entire Lehigh Valley. If any Lehigh collectors see the staff shirt in their local shops, the guy inside is yours truly. So, down to business ... Every Wal-Mart from Macungie to Easton is not worth your trip, where late Summer 2002 Deluxe figure waves, 12" legacy waves (Zuckuss et. al.) and a salvo of Cantina Bar sets are the only thing to distract you from Jango pilots and "Dad, Taun We's Heee-yaggh." The only movement had been, again, at KB. The KB in South Mall on Lehigh Street has moved their short lived side wall Star Wars display to a clearance rack located right out in the Mall within just a few feet of Victoria's Secret and In 'n' Out Piercing. Manager "Jabba" Tom cleared the old space for squirt guns it would appear. K-Mart, where the Clone Wars 3-packs made their Southeast PA debut early last week are now breeding grounds for the large hunks of plastic known as Destroyer Droid Launchers.

Since I am a lover of journalism and entertainment and try to infuse this site with as many original segments as possible, rather than an endless string of links to the official site, I have adopted my own local WFMZ personalities from 69 News as the Allentown Chase emcees. Above are on-air personalities Matt Friedman, Kathy Craine, and Rob Vaughn, all in ST armor. These are real professionals, and real people who not only rack up achievements and awards whilst bringing you the news, but they are REAL people who give back to the community to make it stronger (just like many of you do with your involvement here). I had the pleasure of meeting mentor Rob Vaughn at a Lehigh Street business and it is inspiring to realize you are dealing with passionate people who are both sincere and the best at what they do. If you are outside the WMFZ 69 viewing area, visit their website.

NYC Sandtroopette Lisette reports:
"Hi Troopers: I would like to introduce myself; My name is Lisette from NYC. Although I've been reading this site for many months and find it extremely informative this is the first time I'm actually e-mailing with info. Today I went to the TRU in Times Square and they had plenty of the Saga 03; Yoda & Chian, Ashla & Jempa, Red Battle Droid, Coleman Trebor, Padme Amidala, etc. Although there was a serious dry spell there for a while, now it seems as if this TRU is beginning to get things. Hope this info helps. This TRU also has Destroyer Droid Battle Launcher peg warmers."

Thanks Lisette, glad things are picking up in the Big Apple. Keep the great NYC news coming! There are a lot of folks in Trooper armor in the five burroughs of New York!

I would like to thank the Troops and Troopettes who emailed me and the ST crew to check in during the down-time, it meant a lot to hear the inquiries! BIG thanks as well to benevolent land/Sith Lord Darth Crypt for making the upgrades possible! Sandtrooper Wookieewoods reports:
"Hiya Troops, some good finds! WOOKIEEWOODS reporting in from So. Cal., West Valley. Went to TRU (Woodland Hills) today to see whether they had anything good. Well, they had about 15 of the Bounty Hunter sets. I picked one up for myself, love the swoop. Then I headed over to Target (Fallbrook), not much except for two red Battle Droids on the old card back. It looked like they had found a box in ther back and had put it out, because last week they only had Clone Wars card backs. Anyway, hope this helps some fellow Troopers!"

Sandtrooper Sand Francisco Tim reports:
"Hey Troops, another quickie report. Tuesday afternoon I was able to find the new Obi and Jango Kamino showdown at Talbot's. I also stopped by a few Targets and picked up the latest Imperial sculpt and left a couple of Tantive troops and a left glove Luke. Nothing else was found. So now this brings me to the extras I have. I have one Jango Kamino showdown, the bubble is a little crinkled but not that bad, a corrected Luke and one Snowtrooper for trade. I’m looking for the Jedi three pack or any of the clone trooper three pack. Let me know if you’re interested in a trade. Thanks for the new adopted name, now, why didn’t I think of that?? Illinois Toy Show:
Hey Troops, I have received information regarding a convention here in Illinois in Tinley Park. The Midwest Nonsport Card Expo will be happening September 19-21st. Some of the guests that sparked my interest were Mike Quinn (Nien Nunb) and Dermot Crowley (General Madine), who is making his first announced U.S. appearance. The admission and parking seem pretty reasonable, may be worth checking out if you are in the area.
Update: Mike Quinn has cancelled and been replaced by Eric Walker of Ewok TV series fame. Thanks to Jawa Kelso for the update.

He also sent me a Wat Tambor, all at cost! By the way I have that CD you featured in Force of the Bay. I bought the exact same one. I love it. The vintage commercials are great. Reminds me of when I was growing up. The vintage Yoda X-mas card is nice also. Well troops I am off to work, figure hunting and the gym, Take Care! Cowboys #1."

Thanks Darth, Jake is a heck of a guy to hook a fellow Troop up like that.

Force of the Bay: Reign of the S.C.A.L.P. Trooper
Hey Troops, just got back from my latest dig through ebay. Props are everywhere and there are many great deals like this armor kit. You just have to hope it is as good as it looks. Again I find myself in the "I have never seen" category. Now I understand not everyone would persue these but there is a whole lot more than just action figures out there Troops. Make sure to hit sellers' other items if that does interest you, there were a lot of them up for auction. The nice thing about ebay is you can find great deals like this vintage treasure. I have seen near as much paid for the modern version Target Exclusive. Please be cautious in your travels to ebay. Research your sellers and to be safe only go with people with high solid feedback ratings. Trooper Garr-Fett brought a particular seller that is selling repro blue Snaggletooths like they are Jango Pilots. I am conducting S.C.A.L.P. surveillance on this slimeball and I will keep you posted on what becomes of this mission. I also found guys selling stuff like this which will really make you wonder about that unpunched C-10 gem you purchased for next to nothing. I purchased this CD for a mere $5 dollars with Buy it now. I will also be giving a report on what I received for my Abe Lincoln. Like I said, be cautious. Good luck to you good Troops, Fight the good fight. Kick A$% and take names!

Sandtrooper Jedi CMacD with COAST TO COAST A.M.
East of the Rockies, dial 1-888-SANDTROOPERS"Well, not much here in Canada. However, I did go to one of my local TRU's here in Edmonton, Alberta and what do I see? The Deluxe Battle Droid Builders. There was only a couple of them there and I can most assure you that they were gone later that evening or the next day. They also had a few more Ultimate Bounty Hunters again. As far as actual figures go, nothing new. Been dry since Fall of last year except the brief showing of the Han Hoth wave. Apparently, in some of the TRU's out on the East Coast, there have been reports of Unleashed figures coming soon. All we can do is hope and pray that we do get them."

There seems to be little collector confidence in thinking we would be able to obtain desirable Star Wars gear at the stores now-a-days, especially like I stated in my Target article a few weeks ago, talking with Target employees... they will have you thinking that you will NEVER find Star Wars collectibles on their shelves, like they think it is funny to see you walk away upset.

There is a vicious cycle going on in the Star Wars collecting community, desirable collectibles are short packed and then when they hit the stores, all these SKIDBONES grab them up and go right to ebay, while most of us are stuck at work. I say F#(K THAT!!! (Pardon my Yiddish troops, but someone has to say something!) This, my friends, is why George Collazo and I started SANDTROOPERS.COM We want you guys to have a trustworthy resource for getting news that will get you the toys! Last week, I drove 15 miles to hand deliver a Rancor to a Sandtrooper reader for the cost I paid for it. I felt so good about seeing this guy get this, knowing he could have easily overpaid on e-bay, but didn't. George has done the same. Friends, let's put the fun back in our hobby and band the Sandtroopers together and (As they say in the movie, Full Metal Jacket) "GIT' SOME!" People are going to be pissed at us over this, but what is right, is right. YOU have my, and George's, commitment on that! To the people that scalp this stuff, the invasion is coming!!! Sandtrooper occupation is imminent ... - Darth Crypt
So, what year was it - 2000, 2001 or 2002?

Trooper Darth Zack reports:
"Just finished the rounds in NW Indiana. Finally got the TRU Landspeeder, there were four left at the Merrillville location. Nothing new at Wal-Mart or Target, can't even find accessory packs anymore. K-Mart has two packs now for $9.99 and just looks like they randomly took Figs and packed them together. Lots of Red clone, and Yoda's. No exclusives yet though. That's about it for now."
So, what year was it - 2000, 2001 or 2002?

Sandtrooper Jon Anderson reports:
"Lately collecting has been giving me a weird feeling. It's not the feeling to quit, its almost the feeling of being overwhelmed. Its not the fact that I am working hard hunting for stuff, its the fact that EVERYTHING nowadays has been hard to get, If I didn't have you I would never have gotten the 12" speederbike, skiff, and the y-wing. without you I would be way worse off. But the scalping market has gotten ridiculous! It seems the more people say "ooh this figure is going to be great" or "wow I really will want to buy that when it comes out" the worse and worse the scalping gets, there is obviously problem with ebay, its for certain by tomorrow the ebay market will be filled with tons and tons of 12" Dewbacks, there are currently 3 up there. I don't know what it is but the fact that EVERYTHING is so hard to obtain that its not as fun, I would rather see shelves full of 12" speeder bikes than to have none around ever at all. I have absolutely no problem buying from you, but its just a terrible feeling to sometimes not be able to find something!

"I haven't bought any figures in a LOOOONG time from a store within exception for a few non rarities like the Wal-Mart exclusive holograph figures. The market is getting rough, from what it seems there is the same amounts of stuff out there as always, but it goes faster, and it's because of people on ebay trying to make a few bucks off of it. A lot of people are experiencing this. I was speaking to my friend Matt Newman who is in a rut to find a 12" Speeder Bike, and a Y-Wing, and when I am in the chat room at everybody talks about how they can't find anything they are looking for! Is it lower supplies or is it my theory on scalpers? Man if I didn't have you for the past couple of years I don't know where I would be (lol) you have been a great help and you have made it a lot easier so I don't need to hunt for some things, I certainly hope that POTJ becomes common so the people on ebay paying $100 for a set of 5 figures will learn. I think a lot of people need to learn sometime to wait it out to find something and also that would prevent so many ebay sellers out there that pretty much make money off of it all. The real problem is that there is absolutely nothing anyone can do to stop this lack of supplies or scalping going on! Just spouting off my mind here!"

New Items at Master Replica:
Troops, over at Master Replicas they are offering the new Luke and Darth Vader F/X lightsabers that will be shipping next month. This is the first chance you can pre-order them that I am aware of. The Anakin was an amazing product, I'm sure these will be no different. Also, they have the Luke Skywalker and Darth Maul Signature Edition still available. These are amazing high quality products, limited edition runs. Any of them will put some instant flavor into your collection.

Sandtrooper TROOPER Larry reports:
"Hey troops! I put my armor on this evening before I took the ole dewback to school. Wal-Mart in Strongsville, Ohio is about the only place I have found the new figs. Found the new C-3PO tonight. Although, I'd like to get a hold of the moron that put him on the top shelf (ed. note - someone hiding fgures AGAIN?!). Being that I stand a mere 5' 5" tall, I had to borrow Yoda's lightsaber to cut him free. Other than that, not much new. TRU had the new repainted Republic Gunship. I missed the clonetrooper three pack at TRU in Mentor by a half hour. From what the manger said, they would have only been good for openers. And for once, I wasn't beaten by a SCALP. The gentleman that bought them, got them for his 2 young Padawans. And there you have it!"

Sandtrooper The Corporal reports:
"Hey troops, long time no post,I finally scored something new in NW Indiana, I went to Target last week to buy the Day Of The Dead dvd and walked by the toys and got me the 2 new cinema scenes and a C-3PO with a removable arm, this is the first new Star Wars stuff I've seen since the trash compactor sets came out. I stopped at a few Wal-Marts and they didn't have anything, not even old peg warmers, just a bare spot in the action figure aisle, maybe that's a good thing, clear a spot for new stuff. When is that Clone Wars cartoon going to air? (ed. note - late November). Maybe that's when new stuff will hit the shelves (ed. note - let's hope it won't be THAT long). Hope to post again soon. Semper Fi."

Needs Anyone? - Sandtrooper Scott "SJ" reports:
"Hi Sandtroopers, Scott from Davison, Michigan. Wondering whether anyone needs any of the following: Ephant Mon (2), Imperial Officer (blonde version), Rebel Defender Trooper (reddish-blonde version), Eeth Koth, red Battle Droid, Lama Su with clone youth, Teebo, Library Droids JN-66 and SP-4. Price in my area is about $4.79. I do have a couple needs if trading: Aayla Secura, Wat Tambor, and Ashla and Jempa."

Sandtrooper JEDI COR reports:
"I liked Songwriter's report that came out yesterday, when the fellow Sandtrooper visited the area on Saturday. I followed up and stopped at TRU (Horsehead, NY) on Friday afternoon and they did have 8 bounty hunter sets and one droid launcher. I bought both that day. I also received another Padawan Boy that day, so that's why I was at TRU. Now I have Two Padawan Boys to train to be a Jedi Master some day. MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU ALL    and    KICK SOME SCALPERS A's!"

Sandtrooper Hotjeep360 reports:
"News from Lower Michigan: Target finially got something new. I just bought Imperial Officer, Rebel Trooper, Teebo and Eeth Koth, along with reasearch droids and Jango Fett. It's been a long wait. The Saline Target has 3 packs of Jedi's in chair. Toys 'R' Us - nothing, but did look through and found a Bounty hunter 4 pack with unpainted visor on Fett."

Sandtrooper THE CHAD rebuttal!
"This is in regard to Flikhincubano's post. Buddy,   I     A  M    crying. Crying foul. My posts are not directed at anyone. I am just stating the trouble that I am running into. Are the store employees at the stores in your area bone heads? Ours are. They have told me several stories as to why they haven't gotten any new figures. I am like you, I only found a handful of the newer figures. One thing about me is that I am very outspoken. It feels like everyone is getting an easy break. This is a reality check for you. I don't have the time to find a lot of this stuff because I have to work during the week. Thanks."

Thanks much Chad. Well said, and no one can argue that some of the clerks are boneheads. As long as you haven't been arrested five times like The Flikhincubano Mountaineers have been, then I say keep up the reports!

Sandtroopette Donna reports:
"Hi Troops, Donna from So Cal. The Cinema Scenes Wave 1 have shown up at TRU and they also received another shipment of the Anakin/Dooku Speeder Bikes. Target has the multi-packs plus Rebel Troopers and Imperial Officers. KB has a bin full of the older figures for $2.99. K-mart and Wal-Mart have nothing new. I have the following for trade: Jedi High Council Cimena Scene Wave 1, Multi-pack w/Blue Trooper, Red Head Rebel Trooper, Blonde Head Imperial Officer. In need of Multi-pack with Green Trooper and Jedi Army Pack. If interested, e-mail me. Happy Hunting to all."

Sandtrooper Jedi Hitch reports:
"Hi Troops! Things are starting to show up again in the Eastern Washington area (mainly Spokane). I picked up the Screen Scenes at Target, as well as the Jedi Army and Clone Army (with blue clone) 3 packs. Target has also been getting the earlier 2003 figures (Tusken Raider, Tyranus, Padme, etc.). Toys 'R' Us chimed in with the Clone Army 3pk (green clone version) and the Bounty Hunter 4pk. Wal-Mart and Kmart have been getting in the Snowtrooper wave with the newer paint job on Boba Fett. I'm also still finding the Spider Droid and Super Battledroid Maker deluxe figures at Fred Meyer and the Deluxe Kamino Jango and Kamino Obi-Wan deluxe figures at Shopko.

"Also, I know it's off the subject of Star Wars but the fine folks over at The Green Dragon ( are reporting that retailers have been given the opportunity to order FULL CASES of the Lord of the Rings Twilight Frodo! In other words, don't pay $150+ for this figure on ebay. More are coming!!!! Like I said: Off the subject a bit but any news that stick it to scalpers is good news! That's it for now. Take care Troops!"
Suck it Frodo Scalpers.

Sandtrooper So. Cal Jedi Dom reports:
"So Cal Jedi Dom here. I have to agree with Flikhincubano Mountaineer's rant earlier about "THE CHAD" and the whining and complaining we seem to be subjected to on every post he writes. I have wanted to say something about it a long time ago, but figured an editorial about bashing a fellow trooper may have been bad etiquette. I have been contacted by him before, telling me he was going to quit the hobby, that it wasn't worth it anymore, etc, etc. As a matter of fact, a fellow trooper and I had a conversation about this same topic just in the past week. But you cant help but notice the first 5 letters in the email address ("c-ryan"

"I always see Chad picking up new things all the time. As a matter of fact, I just saw a post on a separate website of him finding not only the blue clonetrooper 3-pak, but the green one as well! I also noticed he just won star cases or something like that recently on another site also. I have extended offers of help before, even recently regarding the Ultimate Bounty 4-pack, only to be told that a trade was in the works, but that my effort was appreciated. So I know he is trading for things, finding new things, buying new things, many things way before a lot of us have a chance. If he is a Target employee, there should be absolutely no excuse for complaining about not finding anything. As for me, I don't have a green trooper 3-pack, or an Acklay, such as the one he is trying to trade away now.

"Look, I don’t want to start anything, I don't mean any disrespect, I just feel that a lot of people are just as frustrated as Chad, but I hardly see anyone complain as much. We have all been through slow times, but the point of this site has always been to help one another find what others have already found. It is not about gloating, nor pissing and moaning about bad luck and coming up empty. Just swallow your pride, suck it up, and be patient like the rest of us.

"Look at the bright side: At least in Alabama, you can afford to go "hunting" for stuff when gas is what, $1.50 or so a gallon? Out here in California, it takes a 2nd mortgage just to fill the tank up @ $2.25 a gallon, just to go to work and back, let alone driving all over to find stuff. We might as well buy from high priced gorgers (since we are ranting) just to save the cost of fuel! Peace out to everyone!

"P.S. I am trying to sell these Ultimate Bounty Hunter 4 packs at cost plus shipping. I have offered them for almost 2 weeks now, and still nobody has taken me up on the offer! Are you kidding me!?!? Anyways, I have 3, all in mint condition, and will sell for $21.54 (actual cost) plus shipping, which I believe will be between $6-$9. Actual shipping will be tabulated when shipped, and refunds will be given if you overpaid for shipping. You cannot beat that. Many people on this site can vouch for me too. Anyways, if I don’t get any responses by tomorrow, they are all going back on shelves Wednesday. So this is your last chance!"

Thanks Dom, we do all like Chad, and I couldn't imagine a "FAIR AND BALANCED" store report rundown without whining and complaining, so, it all balances out in the end.

Sandtrooper California Tim reports:
"Hey Troopers, sorry to say but not much going here in the Bay Area. I did find a TIE Fighter at KB that was kind of beat up, I picked it up anyways because I figure there won’t be another anytime soon. I also found the Cinema pack of Geonosis War Chamber #1 the other day at Target. It’s crazy because either I’m missing everything or we haven’t received anything here in the SF area for awhile. Hopefully tomorrow's outing will change that. Keep up the good fight and remember to kick some scalper a$$."

Thanks for the news Tim, and, I hope the Star Wars situation improves in "Sand" Francisco!

If there is a bright side to the collecting universe,
I am in the area that is furthest from it. I saddled up my Dewback early and went searching for all of the new product everyone has been talking about. I began in Vernon Hills, Illinois, where, on first stop, I found new carded figures. It is too bad they were both Jango Fett Kamino Escape. Then off to the TRU which was completely wiped of the new Bounty Hunter 4-packs, but had plenty of the new battle droid launchers! Is anyone guessing the new pegwarmers for 2003? Then off to Deerfield and Highland Park, Illinois, where there was absolutely nothing except the newer assortments of G.I. Joes, other than that nada, zip! Then I made a sweep through Gurnee, Illinois on the way home. The TRU there had Bounty Hunter packs galore and some new repaint Gunships. There were also a couple new paint Starfighters at Target, and one lone new card Jango Fett. The *%$#@#^&! scalpers won't even buy this one guys, tells you what a weak idea this was to recard all the figures they did this year. I just wonder why out of any toys in the section, why is Star Wars the only one that consistently has 2 year old product? It's disgusting, are there 2 year old shoes? Video games? Greeting Cards? Probably not, but for some reason Star Wars collectors seem to be subjected to buying the same things over and over again. Oh, wait we don't do that, so that's why all that crap is sitting there. Interesting, I just answered my own question. My next question is when are they going to pack all the crap up and get it outta there? Good luck to you Troopers in your searches, Kick A&% and take names!

Flikhincubano Mountaineer Sandtroopers report:
"We're sick, tired, very, very tired. Wassup with this homeboy THE CHAD? What's this crying baby all about? What gives dawgh? This dude seems to be crying about every frikkin' thing!

      *    Cry about no figures online
      *    Cry about figures offline
      *    Cry about Toys R Us
      *    Cry about Target

"DANG!!! DANG!!! DANG!!! Yet, this dood always seems to find every figure and set that comes out or another trooper helps him out. So, what gives? Can this homeboy post about anything else but this continuos cry for figures which later on he finds?

"We are in the middle of nowhere, here in the Florida Mountains of Flikhincubano and for us seeing new figures is as hard as staring at a frog waiting for hair to grow on it. But, you don't see any of us mountaineers crying! We wait, wait, wait. Then when all the lights are out we come down the mountains, cigars in hand, sling shots ready and we bombard our local stores with them! We defeat the snowy weather, we fight the crowds, we are becoming Made-to-win! DO THE SAME, CHAD!

"So far we've gotten 3 NEW FIGURES and we've been arrested 5 TIMES! But, heck! We do not go crying around for the whole world to read! You even work for Target which translates into HANDS ON TRAINING, if you know what we mean! We hope we get posted so Chad can read this and the dood can come to his senses. He appears to be a nice dawgh but HECK! ENOUGH WITH THE CRYING!!!!

The Pittsburgh PA SW Collectors Club is Back!
Hey Troops, over Wizard World weekend in Chicago I got a chance to meet many new Troopers who had never heard of us and many who have been fans for years. Trooper Up2Win in Pittsburgh happened to be a fan for years. We had a great time helping out our friends at the Federation and talking about some of the great history of Sandtroopers, some of the great Troopers, some who are still here "fighting the good fight" and the many others who have simply vanished. Odd as it may seem there are some Troopers assembling in Pennsylvania to get some good old fashioned iron fisted Unity! Check out the link if you live in the area and see how you could hook up and possibly become a member of another elite organization made to assist collectors.

And, Now, The SANDBLAST Timeline . . .
Sandtrooper Lex-Wan Kenobi reports:
"Just thought I'd let people know that SE PA like Montgomeryville TRU is starting to get the palm talkers and 12" legacy wave that includes Han Stormtrooper, Death Star Droid (which, if you look closely, he has the same arms as 4-LOM) , and Death Star Trooper. All the boxes are also about an inch shorter than the bounty hunters wave. The figs aren't shorter, just the box. I never did notice that 4-LOM's feet aren't touching the bottom of his box. Anyway, the palm talkers are $9.99 and the 12" figs are the usual $19.99. No TIE Interceptors or Luke, Han, and Emperor's Wrath Vader yet, but hopefully soon. Anyway, happy hunting and have a great Saturday from Lex-Wan Kenobi"
So, what year was it - 2000, 2001 or 2002?

I knew it, I knew it, we got our first report from a sandtroopette and we are really pleased to post it, thanks a lot Shannon.
"I saw your cry for female input to the here I am! Just to let you know, I have been scouring the Frederick, MD area for any good SW items and so far I have come up dry. Both the Frederick Target and Wal-Mart have yet to display any POTJ figures. And the Target employees keep telling me they "are out" everytime I have them do a location check. They suck! I also checked into the Westminster, MD Toyworks for the Rancor, and they said they have been out since last Christmas. Anyway, hopefully I will eventually have good news to report to you guys!" - Shannon
So, what year was it - 2000, 2001 or 2002?

Sandtrooper Lex-Wan (Jedi Spirit) reports:
"And now for the greater Mid-East PA news: Yes, you've guessed it, the Wal-marts in PA are getting the Cantina Bar exclusives but the funny thing is I thought all the Super Wal-marts got all new product in first, but not so with these Cantina sets, all super Wal-marts in the area had none, just piles & piles of EP2 figs, none higher than #40 in the Saga line. These new sets were at regular Wal-marts only, so if you're having a hard time finding the "Baba bunch" as I like to call them, I suggest abandoning your super Wal-Mart & heading for the regular ol' Wal-Mart - you might have better luck. The only thing I don't like about these new exclusives is that they don't come with weapons, all these guys had blasters in the movie, so why no guns? Maybe another politically correct toy from Lucas like the non-smoking Dex. I guess it's not good to show kids that will buy this set of figs, that weapons in a bar is okay, just glasses. Well anyway, so be it. As for other stores, everyone else had nothing. I did see the X-wing at TRU but no Luke & Tauntaun or Landspeeder. I also saw at TRU they had 6 Ultra Magnus & 4 Optimus Prime 'go TF's,' so to all I say happy hunting!"
So, what year was it - 2000, 2001 or 2002?

    Send your answers to

Uncle George's great comeback? - It was 2002.
Palm Talkers in "Sand" Francisco? - It was 2001.
We were looking for Sandtroopettes (ed. note: we still are!)? - It was 2000

Nobody in Trooperland got all three correct. Tonight's are much easier. Stay tuned for the next installment. We stay in touch, so you'll be in touch!

Sandtrooper Vindicator reports:
"Trooper Vindicator kickin' it live in BC Canada with a routine patrol - not much shaking up here. Ultimate Bounty found at TRU, jack schidt at Wally, and Zellers is still representin' like it's 1999. Anyone need a Commtech reader? No kidding. The news abounds that we up here have seen our first, last, and only 2003 figures with a mixed batch of waves 1 and 2 from collection 1 being found, mainly in Ontario. Do a neighbor a solid, post notices when you can score extra new figures so we can holler down for help."

Wow, see Chad we thought we had it bad here in the U.S.!

Trooper "THE CHAD" Reports:
"Ever since Target finished their resets I haven't seen squat there. The Clone Wars 3-packs, were they hanging from the pegs or setting on the shelf? My Target doesn't have a designated spot for them. There is only 2 rows of pegs for the Collection 1 and 2 figures, no tag for the Clone Trooper 3-packs. That the hell is going on? And as usual the Target employees don't know s$%^."

Hey Chad, I noticed the same thing too. Target is scaling back it seems the entire toy section. I notice in all the Targets in my area the Masters of the Universe line has been dropped. I was wondering whether this was nation wide. Now that we have seen an increase in product we probably won't see anything new until Christmas. Oh and by the way, aren't YOU a Target employee?!?

Sandtrooper Songwrtr reports:
"Got to do a toy run in the Elmira, NY area before a gig in Horseheads. The TRU in Big Flats had a lone remaining Bounty Hunters set, so I was able to check that off the list. Otherwise, the pegs remain full of the Duros wave of POTJ and Jango Pilots (this time with a few Clone Pilots thrown in for good measure). They do still have a full case of the Imperial 4-pack out, as well as other odds and ends including the Clone Wars Gunship.

"Wal-Mart has the same pegs of Jango and Amidala Pilots that they've had for about six months. With the re-set, the 2 remaining Saga TIE Bombers moved back to the top shelf, where they'll remain until clearanced. KB had at least two of the exclusive TIE Fighters. I'd already ordered one from their web store earlier this week. The manager told me they'd gotten one case of the Gammorean Guard 12" figures, but one guy had come in and bought them all. I picked that up on-line as well.

"The only sign of life for new standard figures was the Horseheads K-Mart of all places. This was the store that was so hostile to Star Wars a year ago that it was charging at least .50 per figure more than any other K-Mart and that never got anything new after the April 23 merch. There were remnants of the first "gold" card case (a Jango reissue), as well as of the Clone Wars three packs (the Battle Droid Launcher). After coming up completely dry in the Binghamton area the week before (which preceded a gig in Johnson City) and Elmira the week before that, it was nice to see any sign of life even if it was mostly stuff that I've got on order with e-tailers.

"Aside from that, the pegs at the Ithaca, NY Target have been empty and gray-dotted for about two weeks now. Looking forward to seeing what arrives. Hoping to finally be able to start building that Clone Trooper army and pick up the Jedi trio. I did go the on-line route for both the A-Wing and the Leia and Speederbike; didn't want to chance them not arriving here. The Ithaca K-Mart is bucking the Pilot Jango trend that seems prevalent in much of the country; we've got Mace Windu figures to burn instead.

"As a final thought, after looking at the photos that have been posted of the forthcoming Clone Wars double packs, especially those in the shipping cartons, I'm expecting them to turn up as either Sam's Club or BJ's exclusives here. It looks like they're shipping in displays, which is typical for the warehouse clubs. That's pure conjecture on my part, of course. YMMV."

Posted by Darth Sinister: NEW POTJ FOUND AT WAL-MART
That's right Troopers. Imagine my surprise when I entered my local Wal-Mart last weekend to find that a slew of figures must have snuck out into the POTJ line. What I found on the pegs were POTJ Watto, Ody Mandrell minus the Otoga 222 Pit Droid, Adi Galia, Rune Haako, R2-D2, and Nute Gunray! ...
It was 2001.

Posted by: Uncle George - Sandtroopette Donna wrote in to say:
"Donna from So. Cal. reporting in. Went to 3 Targets today and no sign of the B-Wing ..."
It was 2001.

Trooper Dustin reports:
Hey troops. I picked up all four of the Target accessory sets ...
It was 2002.

Trooper Larry was the first to get all three correct. Stay tuned for the next installment. We stay in touch, so you'll be in touch!

Area Report:
Hey Troops, it was a beautiful day so I took my padawans on a toy run through Southeast Wisconsin. K-mart should just close the doors, I don't know about anyone else out there, but I have seen funerals with better atmosphere. No one is going to buy all of that product from 2002. Wal-mart didn't do any better. With exception to the new lightsaber assortments, they had the usual Jango and Lott Dod selection. K-B toys had the new Gammorean Gaurd 12 inch and one lone, beat to hell TIE Fighter. They also had pegwarmer city in the clearance bin for $2.99. The only small paydirt I hit was following all of the great tips, and hitting up my Target. There were a slew of Battle Droid Launcher and Droid Army Packs but I did manage to score the Blue Trimmed Clone on a late Saturday afternoon so I considered that a success and grabbed a four pack of root beer whirls and called it a day. No new figures of any kind anywhere. Good luck to you Troops in your finds, Kick A$% and take names!

Sandtrooper THE CHAD reports:
"Jason, I have been finding some interesting things. This morning I went to KB and found the Clone Wars 3-pack. This one had a Clone Trooper with blue trim. I also bought a few 'strawberry flavored' Clone troopers. I haven't seen anything at Target or Wal-Mart. I also have an Acklay that I would like to trade for the Clone Wars Jedi Army 3-pack. Thanks."

Hope you get to soon add some "lemon" and more "lime flavored" Troopers to your arsenal. It's like there's a party in your mouth and this party's over.

Sandtrooper South Cal Dude reports:
"Hey Troops! Found a couple of the Clone Wars Troop Transports along with the repainted Jedi Starfighter. Also had a boatload of the Droid Launchers. All of these were at the Target in Alhambra, CA as of this morning."

Thanks for the California Target tip-offs, dude! Totally tubular man!

Wausau, Wisconsin Figure Find:
Hi Troopers, Sandtrooper-Dan here with an area figure report. Our local Wal-Mart had the usual assortment of crap, which seems to be the norm for this store. It was our local Target that had all the goodies. I was able to score the Jedi three pack, Clone Trooper three pack with the blue Clone and a Saga red Battle Droid. They also had the Battle Droids three pack, Destroyer Droid two pack with the rolling droid, three Clone Wars Gunships, and three repainted Jedi Starships. Target also had prices listed for the Geonosian War Room three pack, and the Jedi Council three pack, but I guess the scalpers beat me to them. Well that's the report from the Northwoods of Wisconsin, good luck on your hunt. Peace.

I am sad to inform everyone that the limited edition T-shirts are no longer available. There is a small supply of large left, and, other than that, the "Vets" moved in for the kill. While some have not yet received, shipment number two will go out early next week. Some of you who have recently wrote in and who are newcomers and didn't get one, we are truly apologetic. We felt it would be in the best interest to give them away to all comers at Wizard World Chicago, but to hold back an allotment to those of you who write in every week and make this the greatest Star Wars collecting community in the galaxy. Also a big thank you to those who did send back donations, it is noted and much appreciated. Stick around guys, the General and I are finishing up the final touches on our battle plans. Soon S.C.A.L.P. Troopers will begin taking back what is rightfully ours. We will bring the phrase "Kick A$% and take names" to a whole new level.

JimsJedi reports:
"I'm writing this e-mail from my work PC because my home PC is down because of the idiots launching all of these neat computer viruses. I'm having a hard time in McAfee with infected files that I can't clean, delete, or quarantine, and a firewall is not letting me sign on to AOL. If anyone has suggestions to help me please send them my way. At least I can check my mail when I'm at work. On another note, some new stuff is showing up here and there. Still haven't seen the screen scenes yet, but know that they're out there. Due to some recent trading for Silver Fetts, I have come across an extra opener for trade. I finally got one MOC. I will have my trades posted soon in the next couple of days. A huge thanks goes to Darth Crypt and Spiceowan for helping me get my very own Sandtroopers shirt. I will wear this proudly. I have been coming to this site for 2 years now, and have made a lot of good friends, and look forward to making many more."

Please beware in these dangerous times Troops. Take note you will NEVER receive emails from We can only receive mail, not send with these. So if you do get message with a staff members name, delete it immediately. If in doubt, perform a 'properties' on the sender e-mail display name.

Trooper Mike Reports:
"Hey Troops, it has been a long time since I have written in a report but I wanted to let anyone in the NW Chicago burbs that the Palatine Target had both new Screen Scenes. This was after a very long drought but I was happy to score both. They also had Saga Teebo, Imperial Officer, and Tusken Raider, they could possibly still be there if anyone is interested. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to meet the crew at Wizard World a couple weeks ago but I was only there on Friday."

Thanks for the update Mike. I live in Northeast Illinois and I know what a pain it can be to get new product around here. Stick around, the S.C.A.L.P. campaign is about to kick in full gear!

"How's it goin' troops? Nothing really new in Northern CA. I found the Jedi Council and Geonosian War Room sets at Target last week and all the same CW vehicles! Is anyone interested in a Blue Clone Trooper bust and a Keldor both from SDCC? Both are mint and in great boxes, still sealed! The clone bust is number 109/1000!!! I was looking to trade for a Toy Fair Vader and/or a Lord of the Rings Twilght Frodo!! Let me know what else you have to trade. I collect SW and LOTR!! THANKS a lot and HH!!"

"Hey Troops, finally, I have something worth posting. According to, the Star Wars Insider site, Hasbro's silver-painted Boba Fett action figure will be available for sale to Members of the Official Star Wars Fan Club starting Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at 12:00 noon Pacific Standard Time. They'll be $10.00 plus shipping. Here's the full story. MTFBWY!"

Update from Federation Toys:
Hey Troops Federation Toys has received a small shipment of Saga figures such as Barriss Offee and Aayla Secura and Padawan sets. The new stock of Clone Wars figures will be shipping this month. The Screen Scenes and multi-packs are on the way as well. Also, the official Master Replica site has sold out but I have word Jim will be shipping the Mace Windu Signature Edition, so if you missed it you can try to score one through here. There is also a strong supply of exclusives in stock such as Silver Boba Fett and the Silver R2-D2. Plus much, much more. You can order from the web site 24 hours a day. Please take in consideration that the site may be inaccurate, you can place an order and not be charged until the items ship. Also please be sure to include whether you are a loose or carded collector, this helps serve all collectors better. We look forward to assisting Troops in any way we can. Sandtrooper Tim in the bluegrass of Kentucky reports:
"This is my first time posting something here. I have been coming here daily for about a year and a half now. This is a great website for Star Wars fans.

"Checked out the Target in Florence, KY this morning on my way to school to work on council stuff (ed note: Student Council or Jedi Council?). Almost all of the pegs were full of figures (Teebo, Eeth Koth, Imperial Officer, Rebel Trooper, Research Droids, Padme Factory Chase, Tusken Ambush, Lama Su).

"I picked up Teebo, Eeth, Imperial Officer (Blonde Hair), Droids and Rebel Trooper (Red Hair). They still had 1 Lama, 1 Teebo, 1 Rebel Trooper (Red Hair), Droids (bubble damaged), Snowtrooper, and 3-4 Red Battle Droids. They also had 1 Geonosian and 1 Jedi Council Scene, and a few Command Gunships. I would have picked up extras but I had only enough money to get the ones I needed. All I need now is the other Imperial Officer, and Anakin Secret Ceremony."

Great report Tim, we'd love to hear more from the Kentucky storefronts. Sandtroopers Tip-Off: before school is a great time to hit the pegs.

Sandtrooper Brian L. reports:
Hey fellow troops! Not much new to report in Indianapolis. Target in Indy seems to be the only place that is getting anything and then it's only there for a few hours at the most! You may check your local Meijer stores. I did find the Snowtrooper wave in Fishers, IN the other day. They are resetting for the holiday season and seem to be putting out some new stuff. I have a question, I keep hearing about people getting S.C.A.L.P t-shirts. Is there someplace I can get one? Do you have a website like thajawa had at one time to order them from? I'd wear it on every toy hunt as I try to run over scalpers in the parking lots! Thanks!"

Thanks for the kind words Brian, and for the S.C.A.L.P. enthusiasm! Let me answer the questions about the T-shirt. These shirts have the and "UNITED WE FIND" logos, not the S.C.A.L.P. insignia (maybe that'll happen next run). They aren't for sale, rather we are giving them away. We would never stoop so low as to make hard-working Troopers out there hunting for toys pay their own shipping either. There was a limited first-time run, so if you want to intimidate the scalper element in your location, represent and wear with pride. Just contact us!

Sandtrooper Jedi CMacD with Canada S.C.A.L.P. report:
"Here is one for you. Hasbro Canada. Wal-Mart Canada. Toys 'R' Us Canada. Yeah that's right. S.C.A.L.P. The story that seems to be filtering through Canada now is that Hasbro Canada will NOT be doing any more Saga or Clone Wars figures. I do not believe this. This is how Canadians are getting screwed out of what we love more than Canadian beef. STAR WARS! Fellow Sandtroopers to the South. We can not let those FOOLS at Hasbro Canada get away with this. Now, more than ever, it is time for all to help out their fellow troopers and prevent this S.C.A.L.P. outrage."

Don't let this tragedy happen in YOUR home! S.C.A.L.P. the scalpers, and give some S.C.A.L.P. help to the troops that need assistance!

Clone Wars Value Packs:
If you find Expanded Universe concepts hard to swallow, Hasbro just made the off-screen designs more palletable by introducing Clone Wars Value two-packs. This packaging couples Clone Wars Yoda with Bonus Figure Clone Trooper Commander (yellow), Clone Wars Anakin with Bonus Figure Clone Trooper Lieutenant (blue), and A.R.C. Trooper with Bonus Figure Clone Trooper. These are featured for a Monday arrival, and are available for pre-order at R2Dtoys. Thanks to Tyler and our friends at for this product information, and remember that these are separate carded figures bundled together and that three of these figures are UNCONFIRMED as being released on individual cards.

Mutual of Omaha's AISLE KINGDOM with Sandtrooper Lin Que:
"Lin Que once again, live from Omaha, NE. I went to Target and saw they had FINALLY put out some more stuff. I picked up an extra Snowtrooper if anyone is interested. I'll sell it for the cost and shipping or trade it for a Secret Ceremony Anakin.

"On a different note has anybody taken the time to watch Episode II on cable? If you do you'll see maybe 10 minutes or so of extra footage that Lucas took out for the DVD. More Jedi Action and Clone Carnage await by watching HBO. Lucas even edited Yoda's defining moment!!! Why do you ask?? Maybe it's the same reason most of the deleted scenes could have stayed on the cutting room floor. I KNOW there was more Jedi action that heads would have rather seen. I don't wanna see Senate talks and Jedi hangers!!! Give me Clones kicking @$$ and Jedi getting busy with a lightsaber. George is out of touch with the fans. Maybe we'll see all the good stuff in the box set in 2005. Dodging the eyes of the hawk, Lin Que, aka The Iron Sheik."

Sandtrooper Chuppernicus reports:
"Chuppernicus here from Milwaukee, Wisconsin with my first post. Was just at the Toys 'R' Us and they had a few of the Ultimate Bounty Hunter sets. I also scored both of the 1st screen scenes from the local target. Was able to grab one of each before the scalper I shadowed in saw them and snagged the other two. He was so intent on looking for figs he about missed them. If I only had four hands I could have kept them away from the scum. Target had nothing else but the vehicles. Toys still has old Power of the Jedi figs cramming their pegs. When are they going to send those back? The Wal-Marts around here have been worthless, even those "hot" selling lightsabers are gathering dust. I wonder who at Hasbro was running the numbers to believe we need more reissued lightsabers.

"On a side note: I would like to thank the boys for the T-Shirt (XL) they gave me at Wizard World on Friday August 8, a while back in the Keldor line."

Thanks much for the first post, keep it coming in the Woods of Wisconsin! Next time you see that Target scalper, just flaunt your Sandtroopers T-shirt to make him think twice, maybe he will get so nervous that he will miss the Screen Scenes and everything else Star Wars for that matter!
That scalper almost missed the Screen Scenes because he was so intent on finding new basic figures - what a dipstick!

Allentown Chase:
Still waiting on any new Star Wars in Allentown, PA besides Monday's appearance of Clone Wars multipacks. There were however new arrivals in other categories. South Mall K-B put out some Monday night, and even more today, of the TMNT wave 2 (April with Mousers, Casey Jones with brick bat, Shredder's henchman Hun, and these new Extreme Sports Turtles - note to Vinnie D'Alleva aka G.I.Joe Codename CESSPOOL: why are you guys at Playmates repeating the same patterns that made the Turtles line in the mid-90's a quagmire of redundancies?). Ironically, it was the four Turtles in the sports gear that looked the coolest, but the Mousers included with April looked like they grabbed em right out of the episode "A Thing About Rats" from 1987.

Big K-Mart on South 4th had the Ultra Transformers Universe figures - three or so of Razorclaw (a DOPE repaint /retool of 1999's Beast Wars Transmetals II Tigerhawk), and one Optimus Primal (get your paws off me you dirty ape, with fecal tossing action feature) repaint of the 1996 CLASSIC in a slightly crushed box. Again, now here is Hasbro milking diehard Transformers freaks for every penny. I have the original Beast Wars issues and there is really no need to buy these. Ditto on the Armada Rhinox, Terrorsaur, and Airazor Transmetals repaints.

EB Games in South Mall (across from Sears Portrait Studio) has only the remnants of Series 13 Playmates Simpsons WoS, one Legs (Fat Tony's henchman), Helen Lovejoy, and Herman in Military Antique Shop environment (can I interest you in some authentic Nazi underpants?). They also still had "OH YEAH!!!" Duffman in Moe's Tavern environment EB exclusive (three on the top shelf). Special thanks to my Lehigh Valley Apprentice - Jimmy Nieves - for picking me up "The Tales of Anakin between Episode I and II" at one of the local Flea Markets. That's it from Mutual of Allentown's AISLE KINGDOM.

THE CHAD of the Bay:
"Jason, I am tired of my rants of the lack of stuff here in my area (Northern Alabama). So, I wanted to share some finds that I found on ebay. I found a MOC POTF Imperial Gunner for 50 bucks. This one was complete with coin. Here is the auction page. I also found a POTF A-wing Pilot MOC for 63 bucks as well. This is a 92 back card with edge wear. Both the Gunner and Pilot were 'Buy It Now.' Check out this beauty that I won too.

"Also, I won a contest over at for one of the Ultrarama sets. Check it out.

"Take care. I thank you and the troops for slapping me in the face telling me not to give in. You guys keep me going. As always, may the Force be with you."

Someone has been paying close attention to Spice's 'Force of the Bay!' If you can't find new Star Wars, look to ebay as the tool to fill the holes in your vintage collection! And here's one more slap in the face too Chad - don't give up! The men from S.C.A.L.P. are here to help!

Sandtrooper Jedi Cor with an EMPIRE State report:
"It has been a long time for this Jedi to report what is going on in my area. Not much really. I did e-mail the Corning, NY Wal-Mart (Week of July 21st) and complained about their selection of Star Wars items. Then the following week they had a shelf full of New 3 inch Action Figures (most of them damaged) and then by the end of the week, none at all. They went back to their old dark ways again, I feel like I was in KMart. Can't trust the 4 Wal-Marts that surround the Corning area. The local KB Toys still have the old figures for $2.99, Playskool items, and 3 New TIE Fighters.

"The TRU (Horsehead, NY) has the same old stuff, but have 11 Imperial 4 Pack, and 5 New Clone Republic Gunships. Haven't seen the 3 Packs or (Jedi) Councils yet. That's it for a report from the lazy storefronts, I am losing the battle in my area.

"Also, I wanted to mention that I did get a chance to go to the GenCon Convention in Indianapolis for just one day, and didn't know whether I was going make it because of all the flooding that I had in my basement. What a nightmare (clone battle), waited in line Saturday morning for 4 hours, because the computers kept breaking down (I think the workers kept breaking) just to get into the convention. But I did get my Silver Boba Fett, 1 signed by both actors (Jeremy and Daniel) and one for my son. The lines were very short and the Actors were fun to talk with. That's all for now. MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU ALL and LETS START KICKING SOME MORE BUTTS THIS FALL ..."

Thanks Jedi Cor, for the always concise and entertaining Empire State storefront news, and, yes, let's INDEED start some kick-rectal action for the Autumn toy season!

Sandtrooper Monkey Ambassador reports:
"Store report from Athens, Georgia! I went to my TRU today and they had a lot of Action Fleets from the AT-TE and Naboo Fighter waves. There were the usual year-old pegwarmers and deluxe figures. There was the Padme and Han 12" waves. No Landos that I saw. They also had about 4 Clone Wars Republic Gunships. There was also a 12" Luke and Tauntaun about C-7/8. I bought a 12" Han about C-8.5/9 in case anyone's interested, e-mail me with trade offers. I also bought the only Clone Wars 3-packs there, a Droid Pack and a Destroyer Pack (one of each), again, e-mail me if interested. If no one is interested, they're going back on Saturday.

"I also went to my local KB Toys. They had many 4-packs and 3-packs with lightsabers. One of my favorite that I didn't get was a Jango (Kamino), Yoda, and Dooku with Orange Lightsaber. They have some of the older rare figures, including Dooku, Yoda, stuff along those lines. They had some figures with backdrops. The only ones I remember specificly were Shaak Ti and Tusken Raider. There were a few green Jedi Starfighters. They had Yellow and Red 12" Clones and the 12" Zam wave.

"I think that's it. If anybody is interested in anything, e-mail me."

Bowie MD target report:
I went to Target in Bowie, Maryland yesterday and there was NOT a single figure in sight! They did have the repaint / rebox OB1 ship and the repaint / rebox Republic gunship for $29.99. They didn't even have the Chicago DVD at all .... I mean they were not sold out, they never got it! My girl was giving me the evil eye over this one. The Bowie Target is starting to slip a bit ...

Sandtrooper BOBB reports:
"Hey Troops, Went to the Wal Mart grand opening in South Zanesville, Ohio this morning. It is a sad state for Star Wars. They only had 6 pegs for figures and two pegs for electronic and non-electronic lightsabres. My friend did get caught up on figures. They had one Padme, Coleman Trebor, Wat Tambor, and so on. The guy behind us bought all of the remaining Lukes, Darths, Snowtrooper and repacks. The pegs were empty within minutes. It was kind of nice not having to stare at Jango Pilots like everywhere else!!!"

Sandtrooper Jimmy1236 reports:
"Hey there - things in New York (specifically the Hudson Valley / Poughkeepsie area) are still very dry. I saw a case of new figures on the shelves for the first time since the Padme and Droids wave this past week at the Poughkeepsie TRU, but still nothing special. I know this isn't any big help at all, but hopefully I'll have more to tell you about soon."

Sandtrooper So. Cal. Dom reports:
"Jedi So Cal Dom here. Just thought I would let everyone know that I have two extra Ultimate Bounty 4-packs that I would like to sell at cost plus shipping for the first two people who offer. I have been trying to trade for these for over a week, and I have not had any takers. So I offer them now before I take them back to TRU. Just email me if interested."

Anyone out there in Trooperland who will pay cost plus shipping only?

"Nice T-shirt. Thank you. My wife Sandra didn't understand the 'Find' (in 'United we FIND') until I explained the web site. I can wear it to the Gym and after I wash my lucky red hat, I'll wear it to work for that SOB ogre. This will be THE shirt to wear on all the D/FW Texas toy runs!"

I hear there are many frauds and phonies down there in that particular area, represent with pride! Innovate do not replicate!

Force of the Bay: S.C.A.L.P. Season
Hey Troops, getting back into my groove and tuning into the scalping scum that litters ebay. If you use it wisely you will fill holes in your collection in a real cost effective manner. If you go in like a kid in a candy store you will become broke, desperate and confused. So let's get to cracking shall we? What I really dig about searching though the 15k plus items is finding stuff I've never seen before. You will also find off the hook customs like that, direct from Matt Largeville! I also find many "rare" items are at prices that would make a comic shop owner cry five gallon buckets. We are thinking of outfitting our S.C.A.L.P. Troopers with these to assist us in the war on scalping. No matter your collecting craving, vintage coin freaks, on the bay you're a dime a dozen baby! Holy Dick Vitale J-Man, I'm a hard-core Star Wars collector but somehow I can't visualize myself on this. Really this must be the guy already lining up for Episode III, but again proving my point here Troops. You can find anything Star Wars at ebay 24 hours a day. Thus, there is hardly a Force more powerful than the bay, ebay that is! Good luck to you Troops in your adventures there. Kick A$% and take names.

Sandtrooper Marc in Ontario reports:
"Hey Jason, it's Marc from Ontario. I met up with Trooper John 'JC' Coleman last night and got the new three packs. As you probably already know, he is a great guy and is going to help me out on getting stuff now. He was quite surprised that I came down right away after getting his e-mail yesterday afternoon, but I am really excited to be getting these since they are most likely not going to show up in normal retail. From the looks of things he has quite the luck in finding stuff and i hope his luck never fades! Canada sucks as they aren't getting the line and I desperately needed them. I was glad to go down that day and pay him for them so it doesn't tie his money up, and since I only live 40 minutes from the border! Regards! (p.s. I am still looking for an Unleashed Tyranus open or boxed since I will be opening it anyways, price has to be reasonable. Thanks!"

Glad I could play MISter MATCH and lead to you guys hooking up. This is what it's all about Troops - if you aren't getting anything from, then you ARE NOT using By the way Marc, great fellow Canadian Trooper SEAN V has been trying to sell a loose mint complete Unleashed Tyranus, including the card, so drop him a line and 'GIT SOME!'

Sandtrooper JC reports:
"Based on your K-Mart tip yesterday Jason, I was able to help out fellow Trooper Marc from Hamilton, Ontario. Marc was looking for any of the Clone Wars multi-packs, since he felt they would not show up in Canada. After a couple e-mails being tossed back & forth, I was surprised to hear from Marc after I got home from work. Marc had decided to make a run to my house in Western NY last night. I'm happy to say he is now the proud owner of the Clonetrooper 3-pack (both white & green), the Jedi Knight 3-pack and the Destroyer Droid w/launcher set, sold at cost.

"Yesterday also yielded my SW Insider magazine along with a larger package by the one known as "Spice". I want to thank Spice & Jason at Sandtroopers for a great shirt. I now have a little intimidation factor when I'm out on the hunt! Also, I saw Mike Kelly (ed. note - Mike Kelly is a great and talented guy and was staffer 'Jedi Mike' at the Star Wars site R2's News) on Saturday. He was good enough to sell me a Target A-wing he had just got in the mail along with a few other goodies I had been looking for.

"Nothing new in the stores yet. It's still early in the week so anything can happen, but I have to agree with some of the other posts saying that the basic figures have dried up, for now. Nothing at Walmart, K-mart, Target or TRU as far as figures go. Our TRU did put out a couple of the Republic Gunships, though."

Thanks for being such a good Trooper John and ENJOY the Active Wear! John even helped me when I was still in Niagara County, so you KNOW he's good! I want to thank you, Sandtrooper Marc from Ontario (read above post), and 'Jedi' Mike Kelly for some S.C.A.L.P. involvement - catch the fever!

Sandtrooper Jedinerz reports:
"A long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away a Star Wars Toy Collecting Fan Club started. Actually it didn't happen too far away. A new Star Wars toy collecting Fan Club based in the Metro Washington DC, Virginia, and Maryland area. Come to think of it, the club didn't start long ago. It is just now taking flight.

"Hello Fellow Star Wars fans. Are you tired of endless toy hunts trying to find the latest Star Wars figures and coming home empty handed? Maybe you would like to split the price of a case of Star Wars figures with someone reliable? Perhaps you would just like to find people in the local area to make good trades with? And maybe you would like to have people you can count on who can pick you up a figure if they see one you are looking for? Well, if this sounds like something that interests you, please join a brand new Star Wars action figure collectors group.

"If you are interested in joining a Star Wars action figure club and you live in the DC, VA, and MD please visit and sign up for the list. I would really like to find fans of Star Wars and Star Wars figures who can help each other out so we can cut out overpriced figures on ebay. Plus it seems like more and more peg warmers are keeping us from getting the new figures when they are released. Maybe with a club like this we can help each other out and make sure we have a better shot at getting these hard to find figures.

"Please visit to sign up for the DC Metro Area Star Wars Collecting Club. MTFBWY."

Say, Count Matchew, Sandtroopin' Rai and myself (Darth Crypt) are from Maryland ... namely Bowie, MD. Maybe we will have to check this out!

Sandtrooper Juco Fett reports:
"On my way home from work today I made a visit to my TRU in Beaverton, to see whether I could find any Clone 3 packs. As I was walking to the Star Wars section I noticed a guy with a big Hasbro box checking out. His box was a newly opened box full of the Bounty Hunter 4 packs. I couldn't believe it! I always knew scalping was going on but I have never been a witness to it. After finding only Imperial 4 packs and some Droid launchers, I made my way out. Not wanting to make a scene I made a "B" line to my car where a lady parked in front of me was loading a few TRU bags into the trunk of her car.

"When she was finished she got in the driver's seat and sat there with the trunk open. I found this to be odd until the scalper came out and put his ill begotten goods in the trunk. Man, a scalping duo, how can I keep up with that? I wish I had said something on my way out, but I did get the license plate # for future reference. Keep the good fight!"

Sounds like you ran into the Bonnie and "CLOD" of Star Wars toy scalping. Where's the "tommy gun" when you need it!

We're on to you.

Sandtroopette Donna reports:
"Hey Troops, Donna from So Cal here. Wanted to say THANKS to Spice, Jason, and the rest of the staff for the great T-shirt I received Monday. I will wear it with pride. As for finding anything new over the weekend, the only item I scored was an all white clone trooper 3-pack at KB. Target only has Clone Wars vehicles. Wal-mart and TRU have nothing. K-mart had remains of the multi-packs. Happy Hunting to all."

Yeah Donna, Spice and Jason are the patron saints of the Sandtroopers T-shirt! Looks like the garrisons are forming troops, as S.C.A.L.P. rolls out with the next level of: UNITED, WE FIND!

They were $11.99, a little more than what other places charge for their deluxe packages. Hope this helps someone out there. Take it easy."

Sandtrooper 'Trooper Larry' reports:
"Hey Troops, I managed to find a couple of the older 2003 figs out at Wal-Mart in Strongsville, Ohio tonight. Found Han (Hoth), Mynock Chewy, R2 flight, and the new Snowtrooper. All were a little dinged up, but I can live with that. To the person who tried to hide them: if you are a true troop, I apologize. If you were a scalp, shove it. You'll have to try a little harder than putting them on higher pegs in the new G.I.Joes section. I really owe you guys a big thank you. I got my Sandtroopers shirt today. I'm a little afraid to wear it though. I dont want to screw it up, but will make an exception if it is scalper blood! That’s it for now troops. Kick scalpers A%$ and take the names."

Allentown Chase:
Troopers, Big K-Mart on South Fourth in Allentown, PA got a case of the Clone Wars multipacks at $10.99 each today. As in the other K-Mart reports from today, it was the all-white Clones pack with the prostrate Troop. No blue-trim Clones yet, you must be over 18 for the ten o'clock - it gets a little blue. All new merchandise in this store seemed to be 'red-shifted,' with the Clone Wars packs and lightsabers five feet right of where they should have been on the units. Beyond Good, Beyond Evil, Beyond your wildest imagination, yes, following this trend, Unicron was digesting the small planet Lithone up on the high top shelf down from the Transformers Armada area in the department. His price-point at K-Mart, just as at Target, is $49.99. I'll let a fellow Lehigh Valley S.C.A.L.P. Trooper have the Sandtrooper tip-off because I didn't get him yet and he is still in orbit on that shelf mumbling about how the Autobot Matrix could destroy him. This toy will be a Gen 1 collection addition for me, not an Armada item! I also got the Sandtroopers T-shirts (General/Webmaster limited edition run) from Extensive Enterprises Headquarters (aka Spice's basement!). Wear them with pride Troops, and if you can't hook up with a fellow collector by donning one of these, you can intimidate the local scalpers - S.C.A.L.P. the scalpers, eliminate them through indimidation and scare tactics!

Powerful Armor: The T-shirt
Troops, I have waited 3 years for the day when the first t-shirts would start making their way across the globe to much deserving troopers. Now that it has happened, it is the wish of EVERYONE at that any and all Sandtroopers can know that if they see a trooper anywhere wearing a Sandtroopers t-shirt you should be encouraged to go to that person and start up a new friendship with them. It is time to take "UNITED, WE FIND" to a new level and much like the Marines and or fight club (without the rule to not talk about Sandtroopers!) ... every other trooper you see are YOUR collecting brothers and sisters! Let's roll out a cool subculture society and start the "UNIFY REVOLUTION!" Agreed?

Sandtrooper Satan's Teddy Bear (aka The Devil's Ewok) reports:

- Minnesota Report -

"Target: Not much. In the past weeks I've seen tons of the repainted Clone Wars ships there, but few figures, ran across a few Snowtroopers, Mynock Hunt Chewies and the new C-3P0. Other than that, it's all Orn Free Taa's. I say we gather up all the fat blue little devils, melt them down and give the local scalpers a Hot Blue enema!
Who's with me!?!?!?!?! (ed. note - count us in, we'll make those scalpers 'regular' again!).

"TRU: Do they even carry SW anymore? Other than Pilot Jango? I asked the nearest pimple faced stockboy and he muttered he wished they would stop carrying SW "junk." Sources say he's still trying to remove the set of Hulk fists I shoved down this throat.

"Wal-Mart: Why do I feel like I'm slumming it when I shop here (probably because I have more teeth than the entire customer/employee population)? Two lonely Flying R2's and a buttload of Destroyer Droids, yippee!

"What have we learned kids? Hasbro forgot MN exists and I'm ready to feed their executives to a woodchipper."

"WOW!!! I got my T-shirt in the mail also today and it is cool. I will wear it every Saturday on my toy hunting, scalper scalping, weekend runs!!!! Thanks to all of you guys for the shirt and keep up the great work on the site. As far as local news here in Central Texas, it's been hit and miss lately. I was lucky today, at the Target in Killen, TX, I scored the new Luke with the corrected glove hand and picked up Boba Fett POC with the greener looking suit (ed. note - versus the 'baby blue' colored suit). I left the rest, plenty left over for you other local guys.

"Toys 'R' Us the other day had several of the Green Clone Trooper 3 packs and I can forsee the Destroyer droid launcher is definitely going to be the pegwarmer of this bunch! K-Mart had the White Clone Trooper 3 pack, and Wal-Mart still has a lot of the Jango Pilots only, so I can sympathize with Jedi Dom in the Woods. And K-B had the TIE Fighter, only one, in a beat up box. That's all from Central Texas. Starfox signing out ... Thanks again for the shirt ... United we find!!! Together we Scalp the scalpers!!!!!"

- Enter Image Gallery -

Just made available as a web exclusive, Hasbro's third rendition of the A-wing Fighter, sporting an all new deco scheme and weathering effects, surely will catch the attention of a wide range of collectors.

It's all new box design makes it the perfect treatment for non-openers as one can clearly admire the wedge shaped vehicle through the large windows making up the package. The inside detail of the box, even offers a 3-D cut out of a stand and computer top where the pilot's helmet rests securely while the ship itself rests on Home One's flooring.

The A-wing fighter, though, hasn't changed much. It is basically the same mold used in its two previous releases and other than lacking the electronics of the rare 1986 Droids version, the new vehicle is exactly the same as the vintage one and the POTF2 versions. There's the usual retractable landing gear, pivoting cannons and the lever to raise and lower the cockpit canopy.

Of course, the updated weather effects, the rough looking green and black deco (including Rebel squadron insignias), the addition of a much better pilot sculpt than the one offered in '97 and the reasonable price of around $20.00 makes the new A-wing distinguishable and desirable enough not to pass on it.

Although the pilot's sculpt is already a familiar one, being that of Arvel Crynyd from the 1999 Rebel Pilots Cinema Scene, there are noticeable differences on his paint scheme to make him appear unique, perfectly blending him in with the vehicle's newest look. The color of the pilot's hair has been changed from black to brown, the uniform has been transformed from red/pink to green and the previous white helmet with pink visor now sports green and gray colors and an all black visor.

Overall this is a good mold which allows enough room to place its pilot in the cockpit with ease. But since nothing in life is perfect, there are just three minor disappointments worth mentioning.

One is the mechanism of the lever found behind the cockpit and which should allow the canopy to remain opened or tightly closed. Such lever doesn't seem to work properly. It is a strenuous job to keep the canopy raised when the fighter rests on a shelf or closed if mounted on a wall.

Secondly, and although very nicely added to its gray and white areas, Hasbro forgot to weather the green sections and cannons of the vehicle. The lack of this effect in such areas doesn't detract much from its general look but, the missing worn out effect would had added a more complete feel and look to the new deco.

Third, the pilot seems to be suffering from a strong case of anemia. His face is as pale as a ghost, thus as far as skin color is concerned, this guy surely can use some pink colorant pumped under his epidermis, raising him up from the dead.

Green A-wing fighters were never part of the films but were seen in TIE Fighter and X-wing computer games by Lucas Arts as well as the small version made by Galoob for the Action Fleet line a few years ago. Adding this green version to our collections, is like throwing more wood into the always welcoming Expanded Universe fire. Despite its minor downs, the A-wing is a sleek vehicle with actual prop's accurate proportions, and its price tag is a definite "Go buy me" flashing light.

Enjoy the detailed picture gallery of this superb vehicle and don't forget to order your A-wing today before they've vanished into the deep black skies of a galaxy far, far away.

Also, The A-Wingicon is back in stock at Target. - Jason

Darth Dallas with some S.C.A.L.P. attitude:
"Spice-Man and the rest of the boys at, THANKS for the T-Shirt! It was a nice surprise to find that baby in the mailbox today. It has a nice design to it and I love it. Hopefully it will get stained with some loser's blood (SCALPER) when I punch him in the face for taking all the new gold card snowtroopers to sell on ebay! I did find the Jedi Knight Army 3-pack at Toys 'R' Us in Coral Springs, Florida on Friday. They even had 2 of the green Clone Trooper 3-packs but BOTH were on cards with smashed bubbles. The Super Target in Lauderhill, Florida never has any new figs and they have zero on the pegs. They are set up for new figs so hopefully one day I will hit the jackpot. They are building a new Super Target off of Broward Blvd in Plantation where the old store was so when it has its Grand Opening I will be the first to venture into the Star Wars aisle to score some bounty. At least I hope so, unless the Cowboys game is on TV then the figs are fair game for the rest of Broward County! Take care TROOPS!"

Sandtrooper RH2 reports:
"Hey troops, I went on my toy run through Jacksonville, Florida this past Friday and went to 9 out of 10 Wal-Marts to find absolutely nothing new for Star Wars. Also went to all 5 Target stores where I scored the Geonosian War Room 3 pack at one Target and then the Jedi Council 3 Pack at the next Target. None of the other Targets had any in stock. At the first 3 Targets I noticed they did not have a space on the counter for the multi packs so I was a little concerned they were not going to get them anymore, until I went in to the fourth Target on my run and scored the mother load.

"Blue trim Clone Troopers, Jedi Knights 3 pack and the Droid army 3 packs. I passed on the Droid launcher, Probably pick that up when it hits clearance. I also found the White trim clone troopers, Droid Army builders, and Droid launchers at 3 out of 7 Kmarts on my route. Nothing new at the 3 Toys 'R' Us's except for the incredible shrinking star wars sections. No new Bounty hunters 4 packs yet but they do have the Imperial forces 4 pack, Clone Gunships, and the newest wave of Unleashed figures - Obi wan, Luke, and the Emperor. MTFBWY and keep up the Hunt."

Sandtrooper THE CHAD with a ' Dateline Exclusive:'
Now, a Dateline Exclusive ... Dateline: "INCOMPETENT??" - "Hey guys, I have been reading all the posts by Danny B and Lin Que, my Target hasn't seen squat. You want to talk about incompetence. Since our two Targets finished their resets they have not received anything at all. The pegs are still empty. I am thinking that Star Wars is dead around here in north Alabama. We in Huntsville, Alabama aren't loved like you guys out West as well as those Troopers up North. I said it before and I will say it again, it ain't worth it anymore. Before anybody sends me hate mail or calls me a cry baby, let me tell you this: The battle is lost. You are right, I am a defeatist. Our stores still have empty pegs. Wal-Mart, Target, K-B (who only gets trucks in on Thursdays). What the hell am I suppose to do? We will never see anything."

Chad, I know you tend to be quite the pessimist when it comes to these kind of things, but, remember, your Sandtrooper brethren feel your pain and MANY will come to your aid should things get ugly! And there you have it. Anyone else have any incompetence reports?

Sandtrooper Danny B reports:
"Danny B here from So.Cal. I just wanted to say I really enjoyed Lin Que's story. I have read it like six times it keeps getting funnier everytime I hear it. Hooray for our side in the battle against scalping. The Jedi Knight Army is vey hard to find and I happened to be in the right place at the right time when I found mine at Target. Working in retail, I have to see scalpers buy stuff everyday knowing that when the stuff goes out the door it is not going to a fan or a child who really cares, but into the hands of greedy dealers. It does look like the figures are starting to dry up again, I even seen the three pack scenes hang around for a couple of days and then they were gone. I found the Bounty Hunter four pack last week at TRU here in So. Cal."

That's what it's all about. If you're going to read, it had better be entertaining, and not the umphteenth-million link to Any AISLE KINGDOM reports from all of you in Trooperland are welcomed, whether a find, scalper siting, or incompetent store clerk, put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard), and mail them in to Begin today.

I just wanted to let the troops know that I myself am involved with S.C.A.L.P. by selling a Convention Silver Boba Fett that I stood in line for two hours to aquire for cost plus shiping. The person that bought it is happy, and I get my $10.21 for the figure. We need everybody to participate in S.C.A.L.P. to make it work effectively. So join the fight against these scalpers so we can make this hobby a much better one to enjoy, and make it easier for us to aquire the figures we need at the price they are supposed to be. PEACE.

Sandtrooper 'TROOPER Larry' reports:
"Hey troops, nothing new to report. It has died down, again. I did manage to find an interesting little piece from the Hasbro site. If you click on the FAQ's / Ask a question, and go to page 2 of the questions, click on question 29, scroll past all the internet sites, and you will find this excuse explaining why there are no new figs out: 'Keep in mind that depending on time of year, retailer distribution systems, store inventory and sales patterns, it may take from several weeks up to several months after the availability dates given for some products to show up on store shelves! We cannot guarantee product availability at any one store.' And there you have it! Its not Hasbro's fault (yeah right), it’s the retail stores' fault. Good luck troops!"

Sandtrooper Lin Que with Mutual of Omaha's AISLE KINGDOM:
"Score one for the troops!!! Lin Que here with another Midwest report from Omaha, Nebraska. On a whim this past Thursday I called Toys 'R' Us from work to see if any new Clone Wars 3 packs had come in. After a few minutes of confusion I was told that they had Clone Trooper 3 packs in stock. I asked the guy to hold me one so I could pick it up after work. I arrived at the store a few hours later and was given a Clone 3 pack with a blue Clone. The card was bent to high hell so I decided to wander to the SW section to try my luck. Much to my delight there was ANOTHER blue clone in pristine condition. I grabbed it and upon snooping through the droid launchers I saw a lone Jedi Knight Army. I thanked the collecting gods above and took possession of it. I walked around a bit and made my way back to the SW section after a few minutes to grab the other Clone 3 pack and offer it up here.
"As I came back I noticed the local scalper hovering around picking up stuff. I know this person from the comic book store I frequent. He buys all he can and sells it to this store so they can charge $20 for a 3 pack. He was looking through the Clone Wars stuff and then coolly looked at my haul. He saw I had the Jedi Knights and I could tell he was hot. He made a little conversation about how lucky I was and had I got anymore 3 packs and blahzay blahzay. I wanted to laugh in old boy's face and it he kept waiting for me to put the Jedi down so he could grab it. I told him peace and broke out with him right behind me.

"He followed me outside and stared needles at me all the way to his car. I KNEW he was pissed. It felt good to get him back after he bought all the Bespin Lukes from Toys 'R' Us from last year and sold them to this comic book store. I wanted to kick him in the throat for that. Karma's a bitch!!! Sorry I couldn't score the other clone ... it would have made my day to pass it to a deserving trooper. But this Jedi Knight 3 pack I have I dedicate to every REAL collector who wants these things because they love Star Wars, not because they want a quick buck. Stay up and Stay Sharp. Reflecting forever like two mirrors facing each other. Lin Que aka the Hard Margin out..."

Are You With Us or Against Us?

Our Enforcer will be dispatched to enforce some disciplineHow can we attempt to stop some idiot from bending cards? Explain to retail chain employees that people want these things in the best shape that they can give them to us in. Then why not educate security on scalping and they can then watch closer to see what really happens to these cases after they arrive at the stores.

This will bring us into many other phases of this intricate operation we are planning. Upon General Jason's order, Lord Spiceowan is putting together a team of S.C.A.L.P. Troopers to dispatch literature to the worthless security guards sitting there stoned out of their minds making $6.55 an hour. The reward for the employee? How about getting your boss fired? Who wouldn't want to do that?

The Staff at is launching an Extensive investigation as to the legitimate practices by some of the retail chain stores. We believe that in some instances employees are buying entire shipments and moving them for wide profits on ebay. How do we prove these assumptions? The burden of proof is not upon us, rather these stores.

So it begins today, we will question the "higher ups" of these chain stores, and make our way down to the ground troops who we all hate that work the floor. Ebay will not be immune from our beachhead attack. United and with the right Troopers, we can take the fight to the people that aim to make a buck off making our lives hell. You should not have to pay a fifteen-dollar premium just to have a figure within six months of the release date.

Are you with us or against us? The choice is yours.

More details and how YOU can join the S.C.A.L.P. Army - Coming Soon!

Sandtrooper THE CHAD reports:
I don't think our TRU will get the bounty hunter sets. I haven't seen them myself, and won't get them in until August 20th. Our TRU has sucked in the past with their exclusives. The Deathstar Escape set back in 1997? Never found it. I have given up on finding this set because it is too hot. There is another black mark for Hasbro. It shouldn't be this difficult to find this thing."

Global Sandtroopin' Rai reports:
"I took a ride to Columbia, MD yesterday and hit both Target and TRU there. Both had Unicron, and for LOTR fans, both had ROTK figures. TRU had Gollum and Smeagol (the bendy guys) in TTT and ROTK packaging. TRU also had one King Theoden in Rohan Armor (which I've noticed hasn't been widely available in the places I frequent). Target had Frodo in Orc Armor and Eomer. Target also had the 1/24 scale Armies of Middle Earth figures and sets. I would say they are a bit pricey for what you get, but they are nice if you've got the
money. BTW, ROTK 6" figures are a better deal at Target for $6.99 (opposed to TRU's $8.99, and what will probably be KB's $9.99).

"Anyhow, after that, I hit the Mall, and Suncoast had some interesting stuff. Thundarr the Barbarian figures (if that interests anyone -- I used to be a loyal follower of the TV show, but I can't say I have any fond memories of it like I did the Transformers...I'm not sure why...maybe the lack of toys, because I liked Masters of the Universe, but never got into the toy line because it was too expensive). They also had Micronauts, and Tomb Raider toys. This weekend they're running some kind of promotion where (if you have an Instant Replay card) you can earn triple points on any purchase between the 15th and 17th.

"Everywhere I've gone has The Matrix toys...but no Twins...ugh. Another thing I thought I should mention is that the GameStop in Crofton, MD has had several items at 30% off. They had several McFarlane Alien vs. Predator sets (at $17.49, it's not too bad a deal), and NECA's sorta-recently released Hellraiser toys. They also had Stikfas, but those disappeared almost instantanously. They have other stuff discounted too (like Art Asylum's Star Trek: Nemesis toys). They seem to be the only GameStop in the area that's been running these discounts (and being obvious about it).

"Oh, so this is a Star Wars site you say? Well, forget it ... I didn't see any new SW figures, and only the same vehicles that have been showing up everywhere (a lot of Gunships), and that's pretty much it. Sandtroopin' Rai out."

Sandtrooper Jake reports:
"Hello all - I once again have some extra figures to offer the Troops at cost. Each figure is $5.50 and will be shipped via Priority Mail for $4. Here is what I currently have: Darth Vader (Throne Room Duel) x 7, Luke Skywalker (Throne Room Duel, corrected version) x 3, Snowtrooper x 3, C-3PO x 3, Jango Fett x 2, Wat Tambor x 1, Han Solo Hoth x 3, Chewbacca Mynock x 2, Boba Fett (Pit of Carkoon) x 2, R2-D2 (Factory Flight) x 3, Barriss Offee x 1, Lama Su x 1. I also have a white clone trooper minibust for $40. All figures are mint on C8.5+ cards. E-mail me if you are interested!"

Sandtrooper Boba Brett reports:
"Boba-Brett reporting in from N.E. Ohio (suburb of Cleveland). Power was finally back on this morning and couldn't start work until 10:00. I'm a drafter so I need my computer to do my work. Anyways, this evening I made a run. TRU had Bounty hunter packs (reg. & variant), Imperial Forces packs, lots of 12" Boussh, Padme, Geo. Warrior, Mace, Super Battle Droid, Zuckuss, Dengar & Imp. Officer, same old peg warming figures too. In the Transformers, they had Unicron ... Dude this makes me want to collect Transformers again ... AWESOME! If you like MOTU, then they had Whiplash, Skeletor with some kind of fire armor & He-man with his opposite Ice armor (forgive me for not knowing the correct names), Orko, Trapjaw & few others. Target had NOTHING as far as Star Wars went, but if you like the Muppets they had the Swedish Chef with his kitchen (MORT MORT MORT), a space pig dude & little scruffy sounding dude from the band on the Muppet Show. Well, that's all for now troops, MTFBWY!"

Sandtroopin' Rai reports:
"I decided to take a detour to TRU Laurel (Maryland) before picking up my film (all 20 rolls of it). I scored my Unicron. I even had a $10 off a purchase of $50+ card, so the nerd in me also picked up the new Simpsons Dr. Stephen Hawking figure to put me over $50 (Unicron was $49.99). No new SW figures, but I think I saw a couple of Clone Wars vehicles (if the troops are interested at all). The SW section has shrunk considerably. Only a few rows of pegs.

"LOTR fans take heart, Sauron is there in quantity as well. Man, I remember when that guy was impossible to find. Considering he was released last year, I'd say it was about darn time! They also had the Helm's Deep gift set. I'm heading to Columbia (Maryland) tonight, so I'll probably have more to write! Wooooorrrrrrddddd!!!!!!"

Rai, next time we hook up I will have to peep out that Unicron!

"The Shroud of the Dark Side Has Fallen"

"Who Turned Out the Lights?

"Well, after several hours of no power, we (Niagara Falls, NY) were fortunate enough to be up & running again last night around 9 p.m. No toy runs last night, obviously. Ah, but today is a new day ...

"First stop - Walmart. They are in the re-shelving process today. They still have the same 7 Jango pilots the've had since the dawn of time. Nothing new out of this store in months. Next stop was K-mart. They are also in the process of re-shelving. This store seems to take a month for this effort. Only remnants of a single case of Clone Wars multi-packs left from last weekend. Target still has Republic Gunships, Jedi Starfighters and AAT's. No new figures. KB Toy Outlet continues to get in last summer's stock & are literally packed to the ceiling with 4-packs. Will they ever sell these?? Toys R Us was the winner today. Got there shortly after the store opened & scored the green Clonetrooper 3-pack. Only need red & yellow now. All these stores were in Niagara Falls.

"KB in Kenmore had nothing new yesterday. Just more of the $2.99 basic figures that nobody wants. Target in Kenmore saw the screen scene multi-packs twice this week, albeit briefly. They did not last the day in either case.

"I was talking to a fellow collector yesterday who claims to have a Luke (Throne Room) figure with both hands painted black. Has anyone else heard of this variation?

"That's it from WNY for now. Hope everyone who was/is affected by the power outage gets back to normal soon."

Thanks John. And, I believe a possum crawled onto a live transformer, acting as the initial event that resulted in last night's blackout
Am I cooking your goose?

Do it in the Dark!

If you can’t see them ... they can’t see you ...
"I can't even see. How am I supposed to fight?"

A Sandtroopers SALUTE to our Troops in the Northeast during the 50 million + consumer power outage. Someone out there assuredly must have said "No, shut them ALL off! (get it?)" I hope all of my Trooper buddies in Upstate NY, Brooklyn, Niagara County NY (my hometown and alleged starting point for this black-out), Motown Detroit, and the Cleveland suburbs can stick it out for a few more hours. Is there any irony in the fact that the individuals this is addressed to won't see it until hours, or, even days later?

Local MD Finds:
Hey troops, went to Annapolis, Maryland TRU today and they had the Clone Wars gunship, new Starfighter, and 1 deluxe clone war figure - the DESTROYER DROID with launcher. Also hit Target in Bowie and got myself Snowtrooper, Jango, and flying R2. They have one flying R2 left. They also had the new Starfighter. That's it for now. Until next time ... PEACE.

Sandtroopin' Rai reports:
"I've been shopping around and new SW is still hard to find, but I found some Cinema Scenes at Target in Bowie, Maryland (the Geonosian War Room, and Jedi High Council) on Monday or so (long gone now). I went back on Wednesday and they actually had a few figures on the pegs (which have been bare, for the most part, every time I've been there over the last several months). I scored the corrected Throne Room Luke (glove on right / correct hand), Throne Room Vader, Tatooine Ambush C-3P0, and a Snowtrooper. These are the first new figs I've seen in ages. Of course, my travels have brought me to Target quite often in recent weeks because my quest to find Unicron. There's shelf space for him, but he ain't there... I've also heard tons of rumors pointing to Target as the place to score LOTR: ROTK toys (and the LOTR Armies of Middle Earth 1/24 scale figure sets).

"I've also been going to a lot of GameStops and EB Games looking for the some of the harder to find McFarlane toys. Many seem to have Marvel Legend IV Elektra which I've seen scores of people saying is hard to find (saw her at GameStop in Annapolis Maryland, and Babbage's at Annapolis Mall). They are out there. What I haven't seen are The Matrix Twin #2 figures ... I know he's out there too though. Sam Goody's been getting in a lot of that kind of stuff first. I bought a few T3 and Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life toys there. I'm sure they will also be the first to get the T3 variant head Arnies that are due out ... well ... someday.

"The TR: CoL Lara Croft figure is a pretty cool toy in concept, but I've had problems with the articulation. Above the waist, everything works fine (except the left hand which won't hold her gun -- I actually scraped off some of the paint before trying jam that thing into her hand), but mine has a tough joint that's so tight, it won't twist, and an ankle joint that's so loose, it wont
stay fixed in one place. And if you've seen the movie (and care), what is attached to the end of her guns? Are they muzzle brakes? Anyway, I'm glad to have the toy, and I'm glad that the property has been done justice with a real "action" figure (as opposed to the stuff Playmates made for the last movie).

"Anyway, there is no sign of Clone Wars stuff at the Annapolis, Maryland TRU, though I know they had some several weeks ago. They had a couple of the older Unleashed figures (Vader and Amidala stick out in my mind) and other clearance fodder type items there. Target seems like the place to go for now (they also had Tanks, Jedi Starfighters, and Replublic Gunships at Target in Bowie). Wal-Mart in Bowie's (Maryland) got nothing. KB at Annapolis Mall, and Arundel Mills also have nothing (nothing new anyway, they've got plenty of SW clearance stuff). I stopped by the TRU in New Carrollton (Maryland) the other day to find it closed and boarded up...too bad, really. I wonder when that happened ..."

Rai, That TRU's roof collapsed in the big February snow storm - Crypt

"For LOTR fans, I did find the seemingly hard to find Sauron, as well as the new Helm's Deep set at TRU Annapolis. I also saw the LOTR: FOTR Fellowship 9-pack at Wal-Mart in Bowie. I'm not real keen on these multipacks, but I guess there is probably demand for them. The Helm's Deep set is particularly disappointing in my opinion. You supposedly get two exclusive figures (The once rumored
cancelled Helm's Deep Gimli, and also Haldir), but they are merely repaints of exisiting figures (Haldir just happens to be a repaint of an existing Elven Archer with a new head, and Gimli is a redeco of the LOTR: FOTR 2-pack Gimli -- though don't get me wrong, he looks great... probably the best in-plastic representation of the character). The other three in the set, while slightly redecorated, are available as single carded figures. At least with the Fellowship set, you get a spiffy map of Middle Earth. LOTR fans may also be disappointed to learn that KB has raised prices on their LOTR items (including clearance-priced items). Hmmmm ... I think I'll stop rambling and apologize for the horribly unfocused report. Maybe I'll have a coffee..."

Thanks for the GREAT report Rai!

Kotobukiya Blue Clonetrooper Now Available!
I have received word from a good friend of mine in Japan that the Kotobukiya Blue Clonetrooper is now available exclusively at the Japan Star Wars exihibition in Kyoto.

"Kotobukiya made this Clone Trooper lieutenant in commemoration of the 'Art of Star Wars exhibition.' The helmet and blue arms are the marks of a lieutenant's (first lieutenant) class. The bold pause which establishes a blaster and gazes at an enemy is dynamic."

There are only 1000 of these made (same run as yellow Clone Trooper) and the cost is 7,800 (Japanese)yen (ed. note: $65.50 USD). So, if you want one and have a friend in Japan I suggest you let them know. These won't last long.

"Jedi So Cal Dom here. I was able to find the new 12" Lando Skiff, AT-ST Driver, and Han Solo wave yesterday at my local Toys R Us. Real surprised when I saw them by the way. So those of you collecting this line, be on the lookout.

"I have a few extra sets of the Ultimate Bounty Hunter 4-packs for trade. Though I do not need much as of now, I am still trying to plug up a few holes that are missing within my collection. I am looking for the clone trooper 3-packs (I need all colors EXCEPT BLUE). I am also looking for the new waitress droid, Lt Danni Faytonni, and Palpatine. Though these have not really hit markets yet, I have heard of them hitting a few places around the country, so I thought I might throw that out there. I am also in need of an Acklay, and any of the following UNLEASHED figures: Darth Vader, Slave Leia, and that which has not really been released yet, Boba Fett, Yoda, and Han. Again, the newer stuff are shots in the dark, but I thought I should anyways.

"Well, email what you've got, and if I cant find anything to trade for, I will sell them at cost plus shipping to the first few offers. I am still looking for any potential coupons or online codes for Does anyone know of any? Please email them to me if you do."

Sandtrooper Darth Zack reports:
"Darth Zack reporting from NW Indiana ... Covered two counties today and sorry to say it was pretty dry. Only things worth mentioning were the Jedi Army pack and the Green Clone Trooper pack. Both were found at TRU in Merrillville. K-B is already shipping the Imperial Shuttle, so those of you that ordered them be on the lookout. Outside of SW I found the coolest transformer yet, yes Unicron! Way cool, wish I could have picked it up (there were several), but unfortunately 'The Boss' (my wife) put a nix on that. Well that's it for now, good luck!"

Why not go back surreptitiously and buy Unicron, then just vote in Extensive Poll No. 6 (above) that you hide toys from your spouse, and that will even everything out. Do you want me to tell you what you want to hear? ... 'Go back and buy that toy!'

Sandtrooper THE CHAD with a 'Dateline Exclusive:'
Now, a Dateline Exclusive ... "Hey guys, I wanted to pass this one on. On September 3, the Star Wars Fan Club Will be selling the Silver Fett for 10 bucks each. There is a 2 figure limit. I want to let you guys know. I didn't have any trouble with my TF Vader that I received last year. Since there are not protruding objects present on the Silver Fett, you shouldn't have any trouble. I would like to correct what I said about the Silver Fett. It will go on sale on September 2nd, not the 3rd. Sorry for the mix up. Take care."

And there you have it.

Sandtrooper Tim ' Wookiee' Woods reports:
"Hey Troopers, It's been way too long since my last post, but honestly there hasn't been anything to post in my area. That is, until now. I was at my local Target in West Hills, CA. today and found the new Jedi Star Fighter, Attack Tank, and Revamped Gun ship. They also had two clone trooper three packs and a bunch of Destroyer Droid Launchers. I also picked up Luke Throneroom. Only one of those. It will look nice in my cubical at work. Now all I need is Vader. Take care troopers. S.C.A.L.P rules!!! P.S. Does any one have a Silver Boba going for a good price or trade?"

"Howdy, I was wondering whether anyone out there could help me out. I'm looking for a few C-8+ carded figures. I don't have anything to trade, I'd just like to buy them outright. I need Coleman Trebor, Han Solo Hoth Rescue, Ephant Mon, Boba Fett Pit of Carcoon, and Darth Vader Emperor's Throne room. If anyone has any of these that they are willing to sell, I'd appreciate it. Thanks."

Again proving what a great bunch you really are, we are truly humbled by your generosity. Contact me to find out how you can help get the rest of the Troops a shirt too. Sandtrooper BOBB reports:
"Yes, there is a Santa Claus! Troopers, I went home to New Jersey from Ohio this weekend and to my utter shock look what I found. The new Cinema Scenes were scored at a Target in Western Pennsylvania, and the Jedi Knight Army, Blue Clone Trooper, and Ultimate Bounty were found at a TRU in New Jersey! The Cinema Scenes are great, I love the bubble packaging. I also saw, but already had, the new Luke, Vader, and Snowtrooper only at Target. With Wally-Mart cutting back, they seem your best bet for the time being."

Hey Troops, I posted my review of Reunion, the last book in the Force Heretic series. It is also the 3rd to last book in the NJO series. While I have enjoyed the NJO, I have to admit that I am ready for this thing to come to an end later this year. I look forward to what comes after this, as well as a couple of years of Clone Wars novels. Well, click here to check out what I thought about Reunion.

Allentown (PA), Where it's Hard to Keep a Good Troop Down:
Billy Joel would be ticked, no new product in the Tri-State area (East Coast Motown - Lehigh Valley - South Allentown, PA), but some interesting encounters at the local haunts. Whitehall Wal-Mart was a waste of time, but I spoke with Amelia, who is the Toy Associate at South 4th Street Big KMart. I proceeded to butter her toast in an attempt to get all the info I could out of her, and got the usual "Star Wars isn't popular anymore (sound familiar Chad?)," and she even went as far as to say that even during the height of AotC that K-Mart wasn't moving much Star Wars. She was doing the Christmas reset and told me the only SKU's carrying over at 'K' will be the Collection 1 and 2 Saga figures. After I mentioned the $12-14 pricepoint multipacks, she admitted that they were indeed scheduled to get those very soon too. So, K-Mart will be worth checking the next few weeks for those, and likely in October for basic figures. They had just gotten truck and had the Ninja Turtles Lair ($49.99), and Transformers Universe case (included a dope repaint of BW Silverbolt), but that was it.

Tina from Bethlehem, PA Wal-Mart reports that her store has not gotten any new product in the last five weeks and is, again, scaling back the POP space for SW. Also, South 5th Walgreens has been getting piecemeal deliveries of HoC Wave 3 (so far Grimlock, Rodimus Prime, and Cyclonus).

I also stopped into South Mall K-B (across fom Victoria's Secret and 'In-N-Out Piercing') and spoke with manager 'Jabba' Tom who told me he'd be glad to spread word about to the store's SW freaks who frequent there. Last Wednesday that store got yet another 4/23 shipment just for giggles, and Tom vehemently proclaimed that they have to move that old stock out quickly! I was glad to meet Lehigh Valley collector NOEL there today, who, to this end, snatched up all the red Clones for loose display. Noel also said that K-Mart on Rte. 199 got the CW multipacks last week, and reads, so that's the end of that chapter, and there you have it from Mutual of Allentown's AISLE KINGDOM. - Jason

Trooper Darth-Dallas Reports:
"Hey troops! I stopped by the Toys 'R' Us (Atlantic Blvd/University Dr.) in Coral Springs, Florida today and found the new 12-inch Han, Lando and AT-ST Driver. I left them, so if you need them let me know and I will go by and see whether they are still there and send them to you at cost plus shipping. I haven't found any new figs in a while since I found the Snowtrooper wave. I did receive my Autographed Silver Fett today when the UPS guy knocked on the door. I wanted to say THANKS to Kip for standing in line to get the fig, then getting into another line to get it autographed by the man J. Bullock himself, putting it into a Star Case and packing it like a CHAMP before sending it my way. There was no way make it to the San Diego Comic-Con or any other convention and I still have nightmares over the condition of one of my Toy Fair Vader's that I received from the Fan Club. They just stuck them in the box and one of Vader's Light Saber got bent. I DID NOT want to worry about my Silver Fett so the small fee you charged was a lifesaver. I owe you one. That wasn't scalping it was a good business decision. God Bless free enterprise and the service you provided. I have never admired a figure as much as this one, WOW!

"Well troops all are well here in S. Florida. The Dallas Cowboys are in camp and Hasbro has some nice stuff coming our way. One more thing, why do people get mad at Hasbro? They make the figures but it is the retailers who have to order and stock the products. Hasbro just can't send a truck to a store and stock the shelves. Why can't people grasp this? If they could, they would. They want to sell their products that's how they make money. Hasbro wants the consumer to get the product but if it sits in a warehouse or if it isn't ordered then it is out of their hands.

Dallas, we have a Troop in need right below, perhaps drop our fellow Canadian a mail and see if you can lend assistance!

The only action going on here is Target is moving their shelves around again and they added the price tag on the shelf for the Cinema Scene, but nothing on the A-Wing yet. I haven’t seen anything restocked at the Wal-Mart from the last time I was there. TRU has received the multi packs and they go right out the door, except for the droid launcher which are starting to collect dust. 12” Han and Lando have started to show up as well. Holy overstuffed mailbox J-man!
Due to the overwhelming amount of email coming in regarding Sandtrooper T-shirts I have to post this update to clear up a little confusion. We only have sizes L, and XL. Please send requests in to me. Also, we have been asked how much they cost, nothing and same for shipping. We would never do anything so cheap as to ask someone to pay their own shipping. We are not going to give new recruits shirts for free and not take care of the heart and soul of this organization. We thank you, our vets, for three years of great hustle. Keep up the good work and keep the reports coming in. This promotion was very successful and we plan to use it again very soon.

Sandtrooper Jedi So. Cal. Dom reports:
"Jedi So Cal Dom here. I have recently set my sights on for a few items. I notice how everyone seems to find discounts and coupons on KB, Target and so forth. Does anyone know of any coupons for I wanted to get the screen scenes there, along with some other things, and with shipping it is pretty costly (ed. note - you aren't kidding, read Chad's post below). Any help on this subject would be appreciated.

"Also, I have an extra autographed Silver Boba Fett convention figure that I am willing to trade. Given the popularity of this figure, along with the actual costs, time and other monies spent, as well as the rarity of this figure (not to mention it is autographed by Jeremy Bulloch himself), I have a few items I still need that I may be willing to trade for. I am searching for the Unleashed Darth Vader & Leia; the clone troopers 3 packs (white, red, yellow and green) except the blue which I already have; the Jedi Knights 3-pack; the POTF2 Han with Taun Taun; and a Toyfair Vader. If anybody has any of these figures and would be willing to trade for them, email me. The best offers will be considered. I am hopeful that somebody out there
will be willing to trade for the Toyfair Vader. Otherwise, please send your offers."

Blue Clonetrooper BUST, Show Exclusives BUST, we got BUSTED!
For a GREAT convention, there sure were a lot of BUSTS happening! Fed Jim from Federation toys had about enough of our smack and had one of our own garrisons remove us from the area. Don't believe the hype ...
What can I say that already hasn't been said? With that being said I had a GREAT time with all the troops and burlap wearing jawas I met and you know who you are. Also a very BIG thanks to Fed Jim, he is one GREAT guy!!! And, of course, Jessie and Zack (Saesee Tiin & Kit Fisto) these are two of the coolest mates you'll ever meet. Now let's get to business about Wizard World 2003. First off, let me start by saying they need to "COME CORRECT!!!" If you were reading to keep up on what was going to be at the show you would have seen exclusives for the Batman and Keldor figures, and from the looks of it they would have been easy to get, no problems right? WRONG!!! You had to stand in a line to get a ticket for a chance to "pay" them your money for one. What a load of "mud." The only one that was easy to get was Silver Boba if you didn't mind waiting 2 hours in line. In closing, next time Wizard World rolls around "Don't believe the hype" on what is going to be there and how easy it will be to get what you are looking for. Until next time ... PEACEOUT.

Chicago, my kinda' town!
Troops, please be sure to read Spiceowan's report on the Gentle Giant nightmare (just below).

I have to thank Jim from Federation Toys for his hospitality and tolerance of the Sandtrooper invasion of his booth this weekend. Jim, you are awesome man! Also, thanks to the troops that stopped us to say hello (especially longtime reader ADAM). Chris K (YOU DA' MAN BRO, and you know why ...~pics~!!!!) and Nick from THEJAWA.COM were a pleasure to meet and hang with. Spice and his wife Laurie were GREAT company. Amanaman Dan and his buddy Troy were two of the coolest dudes you could ever meet. Zack and Jessie (Kit Fisto and Saesee Tiin) as well as Ray Park are REAL PEOPLE.... imagine that!!!! These guys REALLY care about the fans because they themselves ARE fans!!!! Most importantly... YOU troops that came from everywhere to give us a shout (that really made the show for me). Carry on the fight guys (and gals). We are in this together, now more than ever: UNITED, WE FIND!!!!

Wizard World 2003 Report:
Hey Troops, Spiceowan back from hell with your Chicago Wizard World summary. I got into Wizard World early Friday a.m. with the rest of the dealers. Thanks to some friends of the Federation, TOYS that is. I mapped out the place and was plotting to score many exclusives. I met up with Darth Crypt and Count Matchew and was later joined by Amanaman Dan. We fought through the sea of Silver Fett line which to our delight was just about the only exclusive item to NOT go to a raffle format. This fate was suffered by Masters of the Universe fans and Batman fans the same. Really disgusting. I imagined if that had happened to the Boba and how upset I would be, and I drove, now imagine if you flew there for one of those exclusives. We stayed on top of the Fett situation and made sure there wasn't going to be a sellout while handing out Sandtrooper shirts to old Troops and new recruits the same. Friday was a mad house but hanging out with Jesse and Zack Jensen made the chaotic day a lot better. They answered every question with a smile and when they took out their digital cameras and started popping pictures with us I almost passed out.

Saturday was a lot worse than Friday. The Fett line was disgusting and you would think that Paizo publishing would have more than two registers to meet the demand. There also was no "fan club line" as reported, they claimed it was the convention. I saw a lot of that, distributors blaming Wizard World. The Bat-fans and Prince Keldor seekers were boiling mad. Later in the afternoon the line for Boba went down considerably and things cooled down. Again had a lot of fun around the fans in and near the C2 Ventures autograph booths. Also Zack and Jesse made a few more unexpected visits to us in the Federation Toys Sandtrooper garrison. Again very cool down to earth guys who were willing to spend not just a great deal of time answering our questions but just about any that came up and were asking them. The Silver Boba was not in danger of selling out at any time we were told by Paizo officials.

Sunday was the most lax day of the whole event. Bid Lord Crypt and Count Matchew farewell and they left the event in my "capable hands." I walked booth to booth with the's Chris K. and really had a great time. We showed many dealers many mistakes they were trying to pass on. Red dots on Saga Clone Trooper even though it had a post it saying "No dots $22!" Looking at the staggering prices even on the last day. We really had some good laughs at some sky high dealers expense. Don't these fools know they are in direct competition with ebay? There wasn't really much else going on, I didn't win the Blue Clone Bust (see full report) and I decided even I will get sick of Star Wars and freaks after 66 hours of constant exposure. Overall Wizard World 2003 was a major success for and all of the new Troopers we recruited.I'd like to say a very special thank you to Jim at Federation Toys for rolling out the red carpet for the Sandtrooper garrison all the way to St. Louis. Your kindness and generosity is forever appreciated by the staff at Sandtroopers. Stay tuned to Sandtroopers for more Wizard World pictures and coverage coming in the days to come. Kelso and I asked convention officials what attendance numbers were from the show and we were told "the best ever as of Saturday a.m. and everything since was just a plus." I guess with everyone buying multi-badges those numbers can not be right no matter what they turn out to be. If you are interested check out wizard for details.

I did set aside a substantial amount of Sandtrooper t-shirts for our Vets. Some of you have already contacted me, the rest what are you waiting for? We know who you are and so do you. We will try to get them out to our loyal Troopers A.S.A.P., so get into contact with us about how to obtain this very limited T-shirt.

Sandtrooper Jake186 with a Wizard World S.C.A.L.P. report:
"Hello all - I have just returned from the spectacle that was called Wizard World Chicago. The chaos created by Gentle Giant and Hasbro was unacceptable. We got in line three hours early to get a blue clonetrooper minibust. Once sprinting to the booth, we were infuriated when we found out that there were only 25 at the show and the chance to purchase one was only available through a raffle. Was it just me, or did I hear that there were supposed to be 500 for San Diego and 500 for Chicago? One of my friends was lucky enough to get one through the raffle and the rest of us had to pay the increasing price of $200-$300. By the end of the show, any dealers that had them were selling them for $500!

"Although they had enough stock for the show, the Hasbro line for the Silver Boba Fett was equally disgusting. The line wrapped around the Paizo/Hasbro booth and there was no "express" line for fan club members. More false advertising. Someone needs to pull their heads out of their rears and look around! Doesn't anyone ever learn lessons from past events? Remember the Jorg Sacul melee at Celebration II? Aren't these events supposed to be a good time?"

Sandtroopette Donna reports:
"Hi Troops, Donna from So. Cal. reporting in. The exclusive TIE Fighter with pilot has landed at KB. They received only one case of 4. After hitting 4 Targets the past two days, I finally scored at the 5th Target. They had the Cinema Scenes and the corrected Luke Throne Room with the glove on the right hand. Lastly, if you are into board games, I stumbled upon an Attack of the Clones Chess Set at Target. It comes with 32 sculpted chess pieces that look to be pewter. The eight pieces shown on the front window are Sidious, Jango, Dooku, Destroyer Droid, Yoda, Mace, Anakin, and Padme. Happy Hunting to all."

Sandtrooper Jimmy1236 reports:
"Hello to all ... it has been a long time since I've written in, but there also hasn't been anything to write about. I went on a major toy run in New York over the past few days, finding some new stuff, but none of the things I really want. In Poughkeepsie, the Toys 'R' Us has gotten some of the new Clone Wars vehicles, and still has some remnants of the Clone Wars multi-packs, but no new figures (loads of shelves crammed with Jango pilots). The K-B had the new TIE Fighter, as well as the new Clone Wars vehicles, but no new figures either.

"In Putnam Valley, the Wal-Mart had the re-release C-3PO and Jango, and the ugly new R2. The Toys 'R' Us had the new Clone Wars vehicles, but nothing new other than that. In Kingston, K-B had some new TIE Fighters, Target had only 3 figures and the new vehicles. The Toys 'R' Us also had the new vehicles, and Wal-Mart has nothing new. The only things I have found recently have been these new vehicles, no good figures in a while ... oh well. I may soon ask for help with the Jedi Council scenes, but I'll give it a few more weeks, hopefully the vehicles mean that some product will come in soon. Hope this helps."

Area report from Lafayette, IN
Hey Troops, I stopped by the Lafayette Toys R Us yesterday. They had at least a dozen of the Imperial 4-pack still on the shelf. I looked behind those and much to my surprise, I found a stockpile of Bounty Hunter 4-packs. This item is worth the price for the swoop alone (which is the only new thing in there anyway). The swoop is the best one put out by Hasbro yet. The Clone Wars Jedi Starfighter and Republic Gunship were also on the shelf. I still haven't seen a new carded figure in this area since the Boba Fett wave at the beginning of the year (don't know what I would do without online dealers), but at least some new product is hitting the shelves.

Sandtrooper THE CHAD with Something New:
"Hey all. One of our local Targets in Northern Alabama actually got something new. They had the Cinema Scene packs with the War room and the Jedi Council with Mace and I can't remember the other 2. They had one of each left. They also had the rehash of the Gunship. Also, this is not related to Star Wars but I saw Unicron. My God, that thing is huge. I didn't get him though. He was a sight to see. Take care troopers."

"Chad, just think. Had you bought Unicron, you could have told us I now possess that which you most fear." Get it? ...

"Hello troopers, I got lucky again at my local KMart in Jacksonville, Florida this week. I scored the Secret Ceremony Padme wave as well as the new Luke/Darth Vader wave. They also got in one case of the new 3 pack clone wars figures - 2 clean Troopers, 2 Droid launchers, and 2 Droid Army. Not very articulated but definitely cool to build an army out of. My Targets got in the new Gunships, Battle Tanks, and the Jedi Star Fighters in as well, plus the 3 pack clone wars figures. No sign of the Bounty Hunter 4 pack yet at our Toys 'R' Us. Hopefully this weekend I will find something new there. Take Care. MTFBWY."

Bounty Hunters 4-pack: Ready for more?
There is another error dealing with the recently released Bounty Hunters 4-pack which will surely please those of you, variation and error hunters out there. Besides the already seen unpainted Boba Fett visor, I recently came across an error dealing with the rehashed IG-88 droid found in the pack.

When compared to its two previous plastic incarnations, the new-package version of this figure sports an updated deco with heavier rust effect. The "rust"covers 70% of the assassin droid's body, mainly around the torso area. The flame-thrower (little cylinders on the chest) as well as other small gadgetry surrounding such area, are clearly painted silver. It is found on packs stamped 31461, 31491, 31531, 31581.

detail of rust variations

With this said, the error version of this figure suffers from the same old illness that many Hasbro figures have been suffering for years. You guessed it right ... lack of paint!

Found in two early production cases stamped 31461, the oddity is completely missing the rust effect or red paint which highlights the body. The flame-thrower and sonic stunners were also left unpainted, giving the entire sculpt a strange greenish/blue appearance very much in the same color tone as the droid's head.

Here are some comparison pictures I just took, showing the common and the error versions. Check out the big picture for full shots and explanation. Keep in mind the error is not unique, as it has repeated twice. This translates into a great possibility of finding more out there.

What are you waiting for? Go get them! The unpainted droids await your tender care. Enjoy!

Great work as always Julian! - Jason D. Meyers

Sandtrooper ' Trooper Larry' reports:
"Hey troops!!! Not a whole lot of news from the N. East Ohio front. Found the Bounty Hunter four pack at TRU. Found it interesting to see the TRU manager barking at a scalper. He made him put all six of the Bounty four packs back on the shelve, and leave the store. Wish more Managers were like that. They still had the repacked Jedi Star Fighters (no surprise there). Imperial Four packs aplenty. Nothing more than that. KB had nothing except the Gammorean Guards. Same four that have been there since they were put out. Wal-Mart was bare as usual. Nothing but Jango pilots there. K-mart??? That store is awful, and a disgrace for collectors. They haven't gotten anything since last October.

"On a side note, I recently found a Clone Trooper without dots on his chest. I was wondering whether anyone else has found these, and whether the error would make it worth putting into a protective case. That’s it for this transmission. Good luck troops."

Larry, the 'no dots on figure' Clone Trooper usually goes for around the same price as the 'no dots on picture' version (around $15 - $20). If you've got protection, then give this figure some affection. As for that TRU manager enforcing some discipline on that scalper ...

"Hello Troopers. Found new Luke Throne room duel wave at Kmart twice this month. Most of these figures were found in C-8/9 condition straight from the Hasbro Box - These figures are fitted tight without care for crushing the bubbles. Also, Nice new AOTC scenes at Target this week and the new Darth Maul, Wat Tambor Wave all in C-8/9 condition of course. Nothing to report from Toys 'R' us. This Giant store, all it has is the New Batman figures and Re-taped old Episode I figures in Saga cards. Who is doing This (ed. note: maybe it is the same individual mentioned in the Sandblast Timeline below working out of Miama Wal-Mart at the time?) ????? KB Toy stores keep receiving more of the AOTC waves with training Darth Maul for $1.99/each and TONS of Gammorean Guards 12" to stock + More New Batman Figs. Reporting from the Empire State."

But, when I returned home to Rocky River, Ohio I made a run to my local Target this morning to find Droid Army, Destroyer Droid Launcher, Clone Wars Command Ship, AAT, & Starfighter. Sandtrooper Ryan the Hutt reports:
"Hello everyone! I found the Clone Wars 3-Packs at Meijers in Jenison, Michigan today. They had tons of all three. The Clone Troopers were all white ... no ranking officers to be found. The coolest thing about it was they tagged them at $5.99. When they rang up at $9.99 the cashier quickly changed the price back to $5.99. So I got one of each and an extra Clone to open for 6 bucks apiece! The collecting Gods are finally shining down on me for once in my life!

"Oh yeah, one other thing. I also found the Bounty Hunter 4-pack at TRU on 28th St. in Grand Rapids, Michigan today as well. I have been out of the loop a little but I hadn't heard of this one being on the shelves yet. Take care!"

And, now, the Sandblast Timeline:
Posted by Darth Sinister: NEW POTJ FOUND AT WAL-MART
That's right Troopers. Imagine my surprise when I entered my local Wal-Mart last weekend to find that a slew of figures must have snuck out into the POTJ line. What I found on the pegs were POTJ Watto, Ody Mandrell minus the Otoga 222 Pit Droid, Adi Galia, Rune Haako, R2-D2, and Nute Gunray!

Of course, these were all the E1 figures that were placed on POTJ cards. The thing is that you can obviously tell that these figures were manipulated by the giant pieces of Scotch Tape on the bottoms of the bubble. I brought this to the attention of the clerk and even took all of the "fake" figures down from the pegs to be disposed of. I showed what they did and how and he seems generally concerned.

Anyway, about an hour later (this is a Super Wal-Mart, so we do our grocery shopping there) I went back just to make sure that everything was cool and I found all the figures up on the pegs again! This time I grabbed a shopping cart, got the manager and explained it all over again. He assured me that they would keep an eye on this sort of activity and try to prevent it from happening again. Hopefully, it doesn't.

Troops, this is totally wrong and in the long run it only hurts us. The stores will not restock the pegs if there are tons of figures on them already. Who doesn't know that these figures are altered besides the store employees?

I would love to know if this is happening in other parts outside of South Florida. If you have experienced a similar story please e-mail me.
So, what year was it - 2000, 2001 or 2002?

"So Cal Jedi Dom here. I received my Unleashed Darth Sidious prize in the mail today from Cloud City Collectibles. I must say thank you very much to them as well as to this site for having such contests. Because of this figure, I have decided to go back and purchase specific Unleashed figures including the Luke I found today at my local TRU. I must say, besides the Darth Vader, I think I now own 2 of the best 3 Unleashed figures to date. Of course, the new Han, Yoda and Boba Fett may supercede even these, especially the Fett. Anyways, I just wanted to say thank you and to continue doing what this site does best: one by one, making another person's day a little bit better (especially when times have been so bad for collecting as of late)."

Thanks for the kind words Dom and, yes, just doing things to make someone's day a little bit better is what life is all about, so, why NOT start here?

"An advanced class battle cruiser that succeeded the Carrack light cruiser was also produced by Damorian Manufacturing. Unlike its predecessor where the weapon configurations are subdued, the Transgressor weapons systems are predominantly shown to strike fear into the Rebel fleet. Hunt, attack and destroy are the primary objectives of this vessel that can easily engage and dominate with its firepower most Rebel capital starships.

"During the build time for the DSMs (Death Star Modules) there were times that I just had to get my mind off of it. And you know what I did? It may sound crazy, but I built this battle cruiser on the side, which also just got completed."

Sandtrooper Jedi Dom in the Woods of Wisconsin reports:
"Troops, the 'Other Jedi Dom' here in Wisconsin with some news. After my little whining jag (see my post of 8/2), I scored a bit. The local Wally World finally got in some new stuff. I got an Alderaan Han, Leia Imperial Captive, Coleman Trebor, Theed Hangar Maul, Sec. Cer. Padme, and Lama Su. I took one of each, which was all they had. Then I found the green Jedi Starfighter at Target. I decided to pass on the re-boxed AAT and the Command Gunship. BUT the coolest thing is that a friend picked up 2 silver Fetts at last week's convention. So, I'd like to trade a Fett for some figs. I need almost everything, besides what's mentioned above, from the Acklay battle Obi-wan wave through the Wat Tambor wave. I also want the 12" Plo Koon, AT-ST Driver, Han, and Lando as well as the Unleashed Leia, Han, Obi, Yoda, Sidious, and Unmasked Vader. Okay, I want everything!

"Last thing - did anyone else notice that the numbering on the side of the Theed Hangar Maul is inconsistent with the backs of the other figs in that wave? MTFBWY."

We noticed too Dom. This inconsistency reminds me of the summer of 2001 POTJ series when the UPC descriptions didn't match the Force File descriptions (e.g. Tatooine Patrol vs. Cantina Showdown, Jedi Armor vs. Jedi Training Gear, et. al.). Hasbro will most certainly NOT correct this anomoly. So, error freaks out there can find something else to do.

Sandtrooper JC reports:
"They just kep coming. Western New York continues to be a great place for Star Wars collectors these days. Both Kenmore & Niagara Falls Target stores have begun the re-shelving process. Has that stopped them from putting out new stuff? Nope. The Niagara Falls location put out the Jedi Starfighter & AAT last night. Today, the Kenmore store had another case of the Luke/Vader/Snowtrooper wave, along with the Republic Gunship. The Luke figures were not the corrected version. Target & TRU both have the new mini Lego sets. KB in Kenmore just got in the TIE Fighters. I have also seen reports of the Clonetrooper 3-pack w/green Clonetrooper hitting TRU. Can the Hailfire Droid be too far behind? I'm gonna have to get a second job!

"K-Mart & Wal-Mart (Niagara Falls locations) continue to be a total waste of time. No new products in months. KB Toy Outlet (Factory Outlet Mall) has boatloads of 4-packs of older figures and now they offer a new packaging scheme that has an electronic lightsaber joined with 3 basic figures (mostly Dooku, Yoda & Anakin) for $19.99. They also have quite a few Playskool sets, including the Millennium Falcon.

"One thing I did notice with Target stores is that there does not seem to be any space allocations for deluxe figures. Has anyone else noticed this? I realize this could change, but it was just something I thought I'd point out - especially when I still need a bunch of these. However, there is plenty of space for basic figures, vehicles and, of course, lightsabers."

Thanks for the comprehensive report John. It appears as if Hasbro loves Western New York (why did I ever leave?), and still is apathetic toward regions like Northen Alabama (am I right Chad?). I also visited my K-B today (Eastern PA) and witnessed the same lightsaber/figure combos mentioned above, and the shelves restocked and simply BRISTLING with more 4-23-2002 figures! K-B Manager 'Jabba' of the Lehigh Street location had no comment ...

Canadian Report
Here's the status of Star Wars toys in Canada;

Wal-mart - Nothing! Absolutely zilch. All 2003 stuff was cleared out in the spring. According to their computer's they should be getting the basic Clone Wars figures (only) in the fall.

Zellers - They still have a bit of 2002 stuff but nothing new. The last thing to hit there was the Watto wave and even that was hit and miss. No word on if they will be getting anything new soon.

Toys R' Us - This is the only place to find anything new at retail. The first 7 collection 1 figures (up to Han & Chewy) have been found there along with the Ultimate Bounty 4-pack. However most stores only got a case or two and they sell out within a day.

Well that's it for this report. Hopefully there'll be more good news for us Canadians as we get closer to Christmas. Until then, keep your eye on those TRU's.

* On a side note, did anyone catch the SW episode of That 70's Show the other night? It was priceless. There was also a reference to the Dagobah cave on an episode of South Park last week where Mr.Garrett goes into the cave to find his true self.

Sandtrooper THE CHAD reports:
"Troops, I want to send a big thanks to my man GarrFett. He braved the scalpers and the crowds of people and got me the Silver Fett. I will have it soon enough. On a side note, here is a good example about people jacking up the prices on ebay because of the AFA. I have seen, on ebay, people who had thier figures graded by AFA. Here is an example: a vintage B-wing Pilot for 80 bucks. He doesn't even book for that much. I have seen a TF Vader graded by AFA - 400 bucks. I think this is getting out of hand here. Take care."

You two just demonstrated your S.C.A.L.P. involvement. I want to personally thank Garr Fett (aka Gary Scott) for helping a Trooper, and Chad for being smart enough to ask for help! If you're not getting anything from Sandtroopers, then you're not using Sandtroopers, dig?

Discount Star Wars Books at

You can find books like Tomart's Encyclopedia and Price Guide to Action Figure Star Wars Zybots Collectibles along with Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary and many other great discounted Star Wars books. Our very own Steve Hart turned me on to these great values a while back and I have since increased my Star Wars library by alarming volumes. I may need SP-4 & JN-66 to come in and start a Dewey decimal system for a Sandtrooper! You may want to take a look at some of the fine literature they are blowing out of their online clearance houses.

Extensive Poll # 5 Results ( 23 May - 02 August 2003 )
If you Troops out there in Trooperland consider searching for the latest mass-market-release figures as beneficial as hitting yourself in the head with a hammer (because it feels so good when you stop), then how about interest in a sub-line only marginally related to the Star Wars movies?

Here is what you said:
Do you collect the Star Tours series of figures?
All 9 figures and the Starspeeder 3000 23%
The 9 figures only 28%
Only the astromech droids 9%
Only R5-D2 (better depicts R5-D4 than the 1996 version) 3%
None from the series 17%
Only the items I can get at a reasonable price 13%
Do I really need a 'box with an arm?' 7%

Seven-percent of you still simply have no use for a box with an arm on it. As for Wave 3 of Star Tours, view the Gallery of the latest Star Tours releases.

Peripherally Star Wars

Next up is some more controversy - do you hide figures? Vote on this topic above in Extensive Poll No. 6.

Sandtrooper bigjp reports:
"Hi out there. My 'local' TRU has some Imperial Forces 4-packs and Dlx. Destroyer Droid packs. The joke is that nothing is local where I live. I picked up some extra for the troops. If anyone wants to buy (at cost, of course) or trade for some newer figures, shoot me a line. Figures have been very sparce here in N.E. Ohio. On with the hunt."

Sandtrooper Jedi Dom in the Woods of Wisconsin reports:
"Troops, I need to vent. Please give me a moment. There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING, here in East Central Wisconsin. It's encouraging to hear about other troopers scoring figs. When I do, I get jazzed up and make a run to the local Target and Wal-Mart only to find the same peg warmers that have been there for the past 6 months. The only time I get any figs is when some generous trooper trades or sells me some. This is nice, but it gets costly when you add shipping. The fact that the local TRU is only open on weekends and isn't getting in any new inventory until late this month doesn't help. I'm sure their grand re-opening will be just chock full of all the SW toys that I've missed out on, NOT! My point is this; I need most of the figs, including Unleashed, that have come out since the Library Droid wave (including that wave). If anyone has anything that they want to trade or sell, please let me know. Dyin' in outer-rim - the Other Jedi Dom."

Someone help this man, please! Dig deep brothers for the Dom-inator. Cost plus shipping anyone? And earn an advancement within the ranks of S.C.A.L.P.

Sandtrooper Garr reports
"Another big score in St. Joseph, MO! South Belt Wal-Mart had all of Wave 2, Collection 2, and North Belt Wal-Mart had all of Wave 1, Collection 1. The box at North Belt was smashed when it was pulled from the pallet and almost every figure was only good for an opener. At least we got the figures in this town. I'm still looking for minty figures, I feel now that I will find them, I'll just have to go on another Kansas City run. Well it took 6 months but the long wait is over, Still need to find Deluxe. Take care troops MTFBWY!!! Garr out!!!"

Sandtrooper So. Cal Jedi Dom reports:
"Jedi So Cal Dom here. After months and months of waiting, numerous trips to stores and countless dollars worth of gas, I got lucky today in the Menifee Lakes Target. The best part of fiding what I found is that I found them @ 5pm. See, usually the stuff gets put out first thing in the morning, and by the time I get off work, all that remains, if anything remains, are the scraps from cases nobody wants, or the figures with severely bent or smashed packages. Well, I happened to check the aisle around 5 pm, and a whole Saga collection 2 case must have just been put up. I scored Wat Tambor, Coleman Trebor, Padme Wedding Dress, Han, Leia, Ashla & Jempa, and Aayla Secura. The remaining figures in this case (Barriss, Red Droid, Yoda & Chian, Maul, & Lama Su) I left behind since I found these one by one over the last 2 weeks. It felt good to finally have some luck after nearly 6 months.

"The bad news is that my local Target has completely redone the toy dept, and there is absolutely no room whatsoever for Star Wars. It is as if the whole Star Wars line has been discontinued.

"So I just wanted to give hope for everyone out there who is having a hard time finding stuff. For if I can find these, anyone can."

Mutual of Omaha's AISLE KINGDOM with Sandtrooper Unicron?:

"Unicron with another Cybertron report. I stopped by Lithos today to pick up some stuff and on my customary stop to the binary star system I was happy to see a grip of new satellites and small planets to eat. I devoured up a small moon near Quintessa. I was pretty pleased with myself when I saw Lin Que Droma. Like Starscream said 'My day will come.' That bad boy there is NICE on the Saga card!!! For 60-100 bucks I think it's worth the investment. There was only one left and it's sitting here looking at me as I type this. I have some Robot Points if anyone is interested. I would like to add to my offer for the Autobot Matrix. I would also be willing to add these if someone is willing to sell me a new body. Holla back."

I really hope someone out there in Trooperland got this. Honorable mention will go here to Troopers who understood ...
1 August 2003 - Trooper Lin Que said he "understood, but didn't get it." I guess that's just another delicious paradox!

Sandtrooper JC reports:
"Target is the place to be these days. Thursday I scored the Clonetrooper 3-pack w/blue Clonetrooper & Jedi Knight 3-pack at Target in Niagara Falls, (Western) NY. If that wasn't enough, they also had the Jedi Council and Geonosian War room screen scenes! Wow, more than I could've expected. Earlier in the week at two other Targets, the Luke/Vader/Snowtrooper case made brief appearances on the pegs. After nearly 6 months of severe drought, someone has opened the floodgates (at least at Target)!

"This was also truck day at KB Toy Works in Kenmore. Unfortunately, no TIE Fighter this week. Toys 'R' Us also got a truck today, but nothing new yet. Maybe tomorrow ... Hang in there, troops. The goods are out there."

John 'JC'

Good news and reporting as always JC. John is a HARDCORE trooper back at my old stomping grounds in Western New York. Now, what I can't figure out is why these products stream into WNY, but will never be seen in North 'bama and some of the other 'hard-gainer' regions.
