Sandtrooper Marc with COAST TO COAST A.M.
"Hey Jason, I'd just like to say a big thanks to John C. in Western New York for hooking me up with an Imperial Shuttle, saving close to $100 on this item, and also getting me a corrected Throne Luke and Droid 3-pack ... he is a great guy to deal with, and, to boot, he gave me a free bloody metal pin Bespin Luke which blew me away since I never saw one before in person. Us Canadians have gotten the big shaft on getting new stuff in since the turn of 2003, with the help of John C. I have been able to keep my collection growing. Regards!"
boba@quickclic.net

You bet Marc! We thank you too, John! That is some typical appropriate Trooper behavior, nothing more than a serious case of RTT (real trooper trust) as Julian would say. Slammin' guys.

Sandtrooper THE CHAD reports:
"Hey guys, I wanted to let you know that WA-7, Lt. Faytonni, and Palptine (I thought he was kind of lame) have hit Huntsville, Alabama. So,I you live in my area, they have arrived. Our Target got in the wave that includes the Boba Fett Carkoon, the Rebel Trooper, the Imperial Officer, the red Battle Droid and so on. That's about it. I haven't seen the ARC trooper. Hopefully he will show up. Now, before people start telling me 'I told you so,' I am sorry for the "whining" and that kind of thing. Again, it is not directed at anyone, I just get frustrated very easily. On a side note, I found the Jedi army (ed. note - that's big news for being a sidebar!). Take care."

Mutual of Omaha's AISLE KINGDOM with Sandtrooper Lin Que:
"Lin Que once again with the Midwest report. It was a pretty good day. After watching The Two Towers for like the 9th time I was motivated to go out looking for stuff. I hope Lucas paid close attention to the Battle of Helm's Deep. That is how a battle should be. Lucas is gonna hafta step his game up with Jedi fighting if he wants to impress me after seeing the action at Helm's Deep. The Return of the King conflict is looking like it's gonna be even better. I crossed the river into Iowa and found nothing at the mall. A stop at the Gordman's in Council Bluffs yielded new MOTU figs series one repaints, Buzz Off, and the new Man At Arms. As happy as I was, I knew I had just missed out on Evil Lyn. The Wal-Mart next door had Secret Ceremony Anakin x3, and bent Snowtrooper and Darth Tyranus. I also picked up a Traveling Bilbo because I'm on a major hunt for LOTR figs now.

"Crossing back over to Omaha I decided to check out the Gordman's by my place. They had not one, but two, yes two Evil Lyns. One was shot to hell and good for an opener the other is now part of my collection. Wal-Mart had the new (old) Armada repainted figs which look like crap as far as I'm concerned ... ditch Universe and bring on Energon and Alternators already (ed. note - Agreed, who at Hasbro thought that a red and umber Optimus Primal repaint was a slick idea?!)!!! There were lots of new MOTU figs at Gordmans so if anybody would like one please let me know. Hey everyone has to check out Jedimaster.net. It's this site dedicated to this overweight 15 y/o who decided to pretend a golf club was a lightsaber in front of a school camera. He forgot to erase his "performance" so it ended up on the web. People have taken it and added special effects and it is funny as hell. Check it out, you'll be glad you did (ed. note - I've seen this and it's rather funny, yet how many of us have been thrown out of a bar for doing the same thing with a pool cue?). If anyone is interested in my trades from my earlier post please email me. Walking the earth with three shadows - Lin Que."

Sandtroopette Lisette reports:
"Hi Troopers, Lisette from NYC reporting in. I went to the TRU in Times Square last night on a SW run for a fellow trooper and found Chewbacca Mynock Hunt, C-3P0 Tatooine Ambush, Snowtrooper The Battle of Hoth and R2-D2 Droid Factory. This was the first time I've seen these figures. Although I missed out on Luke Skywalker Throne Room Duel, I went back today with my nephew and was able to find him. I was also lucky enough to find the Jedi Knights 3 pack as well as a blue and green Clone Trooper Army 3 pack."

TRUE EXAMPLES OF SANDTROOPER BEHAVIOR
I just wanted to give a big shout out to two great troopers that have shown their true colors by distributing the goods across the country.

From the shaky land of California, Chicanodom comes to represent. This guy was so amazingly helpful and showed so much friendliness he sent me two Bounty Hunters 4-packs, very well packed, weeks before I was able to help him out with the trade. That is nothing more than a serious case of RTT (real trooper trust) for that I'm thankful and count me in Dominic, as one of your future trading "Doods."

Last but not least is another Orange Paldron Trooper. Word goes out for Sithryan from Boise, Idaho, who so carefully packed two Jedi Army 3-packs and sent them to me in pristine condition. He is another example of proper conduct, responsibility and adequate trooper behavior. Thanks Ryan! I have your number and you have mine ... Keep in touch, Trooper!

Have no fear, if your trading ventures ever take you to any of these troopers, you are guaranteed a safe and sound trade!

Sandtrooper JimsJedi reports:
"Found some goodies the last couple of days. Already have them for my own collection, but I picked up a few extras for trade. Please check out my haves and wants in the forums. Some items available for trade are Wat, Coleman, Padme (Wedding), Lama with Clone child, Red Battle Droid, and the somewhat hard to find Clone Trooper 3 Pack with green trim. I also found out today by another collector friend that my local Wal-Mart had the new figures of the Emperor, and the WA-7 Droid. By the time I got to open his e-mail it was well over half of the day, and didn't bother to check to see if they were still there. But at least they are coming. Also, my Sandtroopers T-shirt has really caught some eyes. Whenever I'm on a toy run, I'm always asked about the site, and hopefully have steered them in the right direction. Drop me a line if you want to trade. Later Troops."

VALUE IS IN THE EYES OF WHOM WILL HOLD IT?
Greetings fellow Floridian trooper Botany 500, are things as scarce up in Boynton as they are here in the Drylands of Miami? Here is the question you asked and my answer to it:
"I was wondering whether anyone has noticed the Jango Fett Kamino Escape variation, where the armor is gray instead of silver, and, if so, how rare is it and what is the value? I also have a Dexter Jettser with no backround insert that is missing its tattoos on its right top hand (rareness value if you know or readers). I have a Baby Boba Fett with background insert whos helmet's black line that goes through the middle is there, but doesn't extend on the sides (rareness value?)."
Caution. You are about to enter a no-scalper zone ...I can tell you this much; value is in the eyes of the beholder or .... is it in the eyes of whom will hold it? The buyer, that is. An error or variation has as much value as that someone is willing to pay for it. Of course to you a certain figure might have much more value, since it involves sentimental reasons. After all you found it or you traded for it, you saw it first. It was your score, not an easy one and you feel your effort needs compensation. It is understandable.

With this said, it is difficult to set a price tag on the figures you'd mentioned but I'll provide you with some values based only on rareness.

The Jango Fett with gray armor was a first run version. As you've described it, the outfit's paint scheme was dull gray. It was then replaced by a brighter more accurate one but the error was not at all that hard to allocate. Chances were if you bought your AOTC figures early you might had picked him up. Notice I call the oddity an error not a variation. The reason for this being such change in color was not intended by Hasbro. In other words, in order for a toy to be classified as a variant, its cosmetic changes need to be intended by the company, for instance the Endor Rebel soldier with or without a beard was/is a variation. Jango with "Gray Armor" was a mishap, a mistake in the mixing of the color, just like the Saga Boba Fett "Pit of Carkoon" is. The street value of your Jango could be anywhere between $10.00 to $25.00 depending on its card condition. People have paid up to $50.00 for it, but it had been rated by AFA, ebay becomes a good source for comparison and a very accurate one in these cases as one could easily see up to the minute bids on what the secondary market is willing to pay for errors and variations.

Your second possession is, indeed, rare. Rare, just as far as being an error, of course. I personally have only seen the error once and it was in all beat up cardback thus I left it behind. There haven't really been any other reports on this mistake. Although it is not hugely noticeable it might fetch quite a nice amount in the secondary market just because it sounds cool. It is funny but sometimes errors gain so rapidly in value not because of how weird it might make a figure appear but because of how cool it would sound to say: "I have a Dexter missing his tattoos" or "my Luminara has an unpainted necklace." Us humans are strange creatures, and strangely we behave at times. As for its street value, I would set it at starting point of $40.00 but heck, that is just my opinion. People, as I said, might be willing to give you more or less for it, depending on how bad they want it. A search through Ebay under Active and Completed items does not show any Dexter errors other than the well known "Pipe" one. It is a nice error, treat it with TLC.

Last on your repertory was Baby Boba with half painted helmet lines. Again, willingness and wanting play an important roll here. I have heard about this error a fair amount of times thus it does not appear to be truly rare. Whether the line is painted only on one side of his helmet, or faded within the silver paint or oversprayed, the error qualifies as one: Boba Fett's helmet lines. It is usually overlooked and not given much importance to it, since in the first place, the helmet line on the regular version doesn't stand out much and sort of blends in with the darker silver paint used on it. People are more willing to let go of their green say if the error would deal with an unpainted visor or unpainted silver since such areas are clearly visible and cover more of the helmet. As for the street value of this figure I would say in between $10.00 to $15.00 depending on the buyer.

As with any variants an errors, it is good to keep in mind that just like Location is the key word in real state when selling a property, Condition plays that same roll when it comes to carded figures. If all of your errors are in mint cards with no bends, creases, tears and no dimples nor dings to the blisters, the value on them will increase. We like to buy new, fresh, flawless items, even more if it involves paying above what the figures actually retailed for.

Mutual of Omaha's AISLE KINGDOM with Sandtrooper Lin Que:
"Lin Que once again with a brief post before my Omaha report tomorrow. I got my Sandtroopers shirt a few days ago and I just wanted to say thanks. I will wear the shirt with pride. I have some items I would like to trade with someone. I have a Matrix Reloaded Twin 2, Comic Con Ultimate Spider Man, Gray Hulk and variant Black Spiderman with Venom. I also have a Battle of the Planets pearl coated Jason. I will trade the above for a MOTU Evil Lyn, LOTR Elrond or Prologue Elf warrior. I think I'm offering up some pretty good items so anyone interested please get in touch with me. I also have a Gold Card Snowtrooper that I would like to trade for a Secret Ceremony Anakin. Take care troops and my report will be posted tomorrow. Oh, has anyone seen EP II on cable yet??? Scalpers couldn't be stars even if they got thrown by Chinese ninjas."

"Cool! I was the lucky winners of a Long Saber Luke from the Sandtrooper.com contest! Bad: I already have one from the "old days" (1st new SW I ever bought!) Well, my dad used to say "When life gives you lemons, cut em' into little slices and squeeze the juice into people's eyes, why the $#@%@! should I suffer alone?" In other words, I'm sharin' the wealth, I'm not much into variants, I'm an opener, but I figure (HA!) a Sandtrooper brother or sister out there could use LS Luke! I'm a simple man, I'm looking for 1 of the newer figures (Or one of the newer Simpson's I'm not a picky man). Anyone interested e-mail me!"

Brought to you by the Extensive Enterprises team

Here are some shots of a diorama that was built to be sold. Yes you heard me right. I feel there are a lot of people out in Star Wars land that want to display loose figures in dioramas but don't have the time or the skills to present them in that fashion, that is where we come in. This particular diorama was conceived by myself, and built by my friend Troy and I. It has hidden lights above each scene and it is constructed entirely from foamcore and weighs less then 10 pounds, yet it is very strong. Troy and I really enjoy doing this sort of thing and plan on doing a lot more in the near future. So if you like it and would like to know more about it just e-mail me for more details. This WILL be up for auction at ebay in the near future. PEACE, and MTFBWY!

Sandtroopers Forces growing stronger:
We would like to take the time to thank all of you for giving one of the most successful months in Sandtroopers.com history. It truly was a spectacular time. The Unity, trading and upcoming S.C.A.L.P. missions are about to bring us to an entire new level. We are also looking at ways to cover every major show in the manner Chicago was assaulted this year. We established a way to identify each other and are working on a way to get that out to everyone. With each advance, we feel as though we are just getting started. We are looking forward to helping all Sandtroopers fill those nasty holes in their collections. We do not need to know everything you have and attempt to put dollar values on it. Remember, "We don't need to see YOUR identification!" Just send in your news and we'll be glad to pass it on to a fellow collector in need. United We Find!

The News that Gets you the News

Southeast PA Newsflash - Reading, Pennsylvania K-B got in one case of Collection 2 (mixed case included Yoda, Coleman Trebor, et. al.), as reported to me by big-time guy Asst. Manager Brian. Tomorrow sees the arrival of the Lehigh Valley shipping manifests, so fingers crossed for the next Truck day! A wood-paneled station wagon has been dispatched to take you to the nearest mental facility for evaluation by staff psychiatrist, Dr. Foster. You dig?"Hi troopers. I am a constant reader of your site, well, have been for the past few weeks. I was wondering whether anyone has noticed the Jango Fett Kamino Escape variation, where the armor is grey instead of silver (ed. note - yes, this one was rather prominent among variants), and, if so how rare is it and what s the value? I also have a Dexter Jettser with no backround insert that is missing its tattoos on its right top hand (rareness value if you know or readers). I have a Baby Boba Fett with background insert whos helmet's black line that goes through the middle is there, but doesn't extend on the sides (rareness value?). "Well I am finally going to send in a report. I have been an daily reader of this site for almost 2 years and this will be my first reporting. But sad to say it is not much. There has been a good flow of stuff coming through my local Target in Central Texas, but it seems to have slowed down the last 2 weeks. Also my TRU is not getting anything except the Bounty Hunter Sets for the past 2 weeks. My Walmarts are a joke by the way, I mean, the best they have to offer is a clearance TiIEBomber for $4 off the original $29?? So anyway. Just thought I would FINALLY add something to this great site. I am also sending out a request for anyone who could help me pick up an Unleashed Leia or Darth. They never hit my area, skipped completely at my TRU, and they are the only ones I am missing. Anyway, good luck on the searches. MTFBWY"

Andrew, first off ... welcome to the garrison brother! Second, you starting to send in news after 2 years of reading is not unusual for us. Most troops are like you and think they may not have "news-worthy" material when nothing could be farther from the truth! We hope to see a ton more posts from you Andrew and to those troops that have been holding off ... COME ON AND GET IN THE FRAY!!! Sandtroopers wants your store reports and news!!!
Dialtone would be proud

Jedi review posted
Hey Troops, I just posted my review of Dark Horse's Jedi Aayla Secura. So far this Jedi series has been excellent and what can be better than a story about our favorite blue Twi'lek? Come on, she is so cool that George Lucas decided to put her in movies just from seeing her picture! And to make things even better, another popular female character makes an appearance in this story. For more, click here.

Sandtrooper SoCal Dude reports:
"  'Sup fellow Troops! I've just started to post on this site recently and I think this is one of the best sites for collectors out there. I'm not sure whether this is the right place for this, but I would like to work out a trade with a fellow Trooper. I'm looking for a Gentle Giants convention BLUE Clone Trooper. I have a Toy Fair Vader (MOC), JLA Hawkgirl figure (MOC) and I think I have an extra Silver Anniversary R2-D2 figure (MOC) around here as well. I may have other figures for trade for the bust that I can throw in as well, just ask. Thanks to all you fellow Troops and long live S.C.A.L.P. !"

Throw in a BOT-CON exclusive Windrazor and Sandstorm, a can of sliced carrots and some plastic baggies, and you can have mine. Barring that, any takers out there in Trooperland?

Sandtrooper Brian L. reports:
"Hey! Not much new in Indy. It's about as dry as the Dune Sea here. I did find the new green Clone Trooper 3 packs at 2 different Meijer stores yesterday. That's about all here. What's up with TRU and Wal-Mart (Other than they suck!)? They are supposed to be the two largest toy retailers in the nation and haven't had anything new in months! If it weren't for finding a few new things at Target once in a while, there wouldn't be anything at all out there! Happy Hunting, and good luck! No, really, good luck finding anything at all. Sandtrooper Drizzit reports:
"Just wanted to send in a report for Waukesha, WI. Made a run yesterday and found the local Wally World pegs filled with the Han Hoth wave. If anyone is looking for these hurry in quickly before the local scalpers, minions of darkness, get them for his shop. Also wanted to say that chuppernicus is a great guy who hooks me up when the going gets rough. It’s easier to search SE WI with more than one trooper sharing the load.

Excellent work, the S.C.A.L.P. divisions are setting up all over the midwest. I am pleased with the movement of our operations. Myself, along with the boys in the 24/7 will handle the activity along the border.

Sandtrooper So Cal Jedi Dom reports:
"Jedi So Cal Dom here: I wanted to give a shout out to the "other Jedi Dom" up in Wisconsin. He bought the last Ultimate Bounty 4 pack off me. Thanks, and hope to help again. I also wanted to send a shout out to fellow trooper Julian (from Florida) who hooked me and a fellow trooper up with the 3rd wave of Star Tours figures. Hey, the more trades I make, the more I can trust a lot of you. Glad to see that honesty besides altruism exists within this site.

"I am in need of some help. I have just started collecting the Unleashed figures within the last month and I have put a huge dent in finding all of them. As of right now, I need only 2. Mace Windu and Slave Leia. I have seen the prices on the Leia's and have to wonder why these are so high. I remember 10 months ago seeing these warm shelves and pegs, and now, why so much?? Anyways, I am looking to trade for both or one, or buy them off somebody. I hope they are mint, and hopefully someone out there can help. Please let me know. I am also looking for the clone trooper 3-packs with the all white clones as well as the GREEN 3-pack. Anyone with these would help a lot too. Has anyone found the RED 3-pack? Let me know."

Thanks Dom, and thanks also to Jedi Dom in the Woods of Wisconsin and my good friend and collaborator Julian in the Bowels of Hell (Miami, Florida) for the outstanding S.C.A.L.P. action. Again, if you aren't getting anything out of Sandtroopers.com, then you ARE NOT using Sandtroopers.com!

The News that Gets you the News

Since we just got a report from a new reader in New York City, it's time for another South Allentown, PA report where Sandtrooper Jason is broadcasting Trooper waves through the entire Lehigh Valley. If any Lehigh collectors see the Sandtroopers.com staff shirt in their local shops, the guy inside is yours truly. So, down to business ... Every Wal-Mart from Macungie to Easton is not worth your trip, where late Summer 2002 Deluxe figure waves, 12" legacy waves (Zuckuss et. al.) and a salvo of Cantina Bar sets are the only thing to distract you from Jango pilots and "Dad, Taun We's Heee-yaggh." The only movement had been, again, at KB. The KB in South Mall on Lehigh Street has moved their short lived side wall Star Wars display to a clearance rack located right out in the Mall within just a few feet of Victoria's Secret and In 'n' Out Piercing. Manager "Jabba" Tom cleared the old space for squirt guns it would appear. K-Mart, where the Clone Wars 3-packs made their Southeast PA debut early last week are now breeding grounds for the large hunks of plastic known as Destroyer Droid Launchers.

Since I am a lover of journalism and entertainment and try to infuse this site with as many original segments as possible, rather than an endless string of links to the official site, I have adopted my own local WFMZ personalities from 69 News as the Allentown Chase emcees. Above are on-air personalities Matt Friedman, Kathy Craine, and Rob Vaughn, all in ST armor. These are real professionals, and real people who not only rack up achievements and awards whilst bringing you the news, but they are REAL people who give back to the community to make it stronger (just like many of you do with your involvement here). I had the pleasure of meeting mentor Rob Vaughn at a Lehigh Street business and it is inspiring to realize you are dealing with passionate people who are both sincere and the best at what they do. If you are outside the WMFZ 69 viewing area, visit their website.

NYC Sandtroopette Lisette reports:
"Hi Troopers: I would like to introduce myself; My name is Lisette from NYC. Although I've been reading this site for many months and find it extremely informative this is the first time I'm actually e-mailing with info. Today I went to the TRU in Times Square and they had plenty of the Saga 03; Yoda & Chian, Ashla & Jempa, Red Battle Droid, Coleman Trebor, Padme Amidala, etc. Although there was a serious dry spell there for a while, now it seems as if this TRU is beginning to get things. Hope this info helps. This TRU also has Destroyer Droid Battle Launcher peg warmers."

Caution. You Are About to Enter a No-Scalper Zone.
THE ST FACTOR!Troops, on Tuesday 8/26 we made some upgrades to the Sandtroopers site. We are sorry to those of you die-hard Troops out there in Trooperland who got HTTP 403 errors and couldn't view the site for about 24 hours. A day without Sandtroopers.com is like a scalper without a fat wallet, so we are back with the news that gets you the toys! I would like to thank the Troops and Troopettes who emailed me and the ST crew to check in during the down-time, it meant a lot to hear the inquiries! BIG thanks as well to benevolent land/Sith Lord Darth Crypt for making the upgrades possible! If anyone sent us news or SANDBLAST TIMELINE answers on or after 8/26 that hasn't been posted, please resubmit to news@sandtroopers.com.

Well, they had about 15 of the Bounty Hunter sets. I picked one up for myself, love the swoop. Then I headed over to Target (Fallbrook), not much except for two red Battle Droids on the old card back. It looked like they had found a box in ther back and had put it out, because last week they only had Clone Wars card backs. Anyway, hope this helps some fellow Troopers!"

Hey Troops, I have received information regarding a convention here in Illinois in Tinley Park. The Midwest Nonsport Card Expo will be happening September 19-21st. Some of the guests that sparked my interest were Mike Quinn (Nien Nunb) and Dermot Crowley (General Madine), who is making his first announced U.S. appearance. The admission and parking seem pretty reasonable, may be worth checking out if you are in the area.
Update: Mike Quinn has cancelled and been replaced by Eric Walker of Ewok TV series fame. Thanks to Jawa Kelso for the update.

Force of the Bay: Reign of the S.C.A.L.P. Trooper
Hey Troops, just got back from my latest dig through ebay. Props are everywhere and there are many great deals like this armor kit. You just have to hope it is as good as it looks. Again I find myself in the "I have never seen" category. Now I understand not everyone would persue these but there is a whole lot more than just action figures out there Troops. Make sure to hit sellers' other items if that does interest you, there were a lot of them up for auction. The nice thing about ebay is you can find great deals like this vintage treasure. I have seen near as much paid for the modern version Target Exclusive. Please be cautious in your travels to ebay. Research your sellers and to be safe only go with people with high solid feedback ratings. Trooper Garr-Fett brought a particular seller that is selling repro blue Snaggletooths like they are Jango Pilots. I am conducting S.C.A.L.P. surveillance on this slimeball and I will keep you posted on what becomes of this mission. I also found guys selling stuff like this which will really make you wonder about that unpunched C-10 gem you purchased for next to nothing. I purchased this CD for a mere $5 dollars with Buy it now. I will also be giving a report on what I received for my Abe Lincoln. Like I said, be cautious. Good luck to you good Troops, Fight the good fight. Kick A$% and take names!

Sandtrooper Jedi CMacD with COAST TO COAST A.M.
East of the Rockies, dial 1-888-SANDTROOPERS"Well, not much here in Canada. However, I did go to one of my local TRU's here in Edmonton, Alberta and what do I see? The Deluxe Battle Droid Builders. There was only a couple of them there and I can most assure you that they were gone later that evening or the next day. They also had a few more Ultimate Bounty Hunters again. As far as actual figures go, nothing new. Been dry since Fall of last year except the brief showing of the Han Hoth wave. Apparently, in some of the TRU's out on the East Coast, there have been reports of Unleashed figures coming soon. All we can do is hope and pray that we do get them."

There seems to be little collector confidence in thinking we would be able to obtain desirable Star Wars gear at the stores now-a-days, especially like I stated in my Target article a few weeks ago, talking with Target employees... they will have you thinking that you will NEVER find Star Wars collectibles on their shelves, like they think it is funny to see you walk away upset.

There is a vicious cycle going on in the Star Wars collecting community, desirable collectibles are short packed and then when they hit the stores, all these SKIDBONES grab them up and go right to ebay, while most of us are stuck at work. I say F#(K THAT!!! (Pardon my Yiddish troops, but someone has to say something!) This, my friends, is why George Collazo and I started SANDTROOPERS.COM We want you guys to have a trustworthy resource for getting news that will get you the toys! Last week, I drove 15 miles to hand deliver a Rancor to a Sandtrooper reader for the cost I paid for it. I felt so good about seeing this guy get this, knowing he could have easily overpaid on e-bay, but didn't. George has done the same. Friends, let's put the fun back in our hobby and band the Sandtroopers together and (As they say in the movie, Full Metal Jacket) "GIT' SOME!" People are going to be pissed at us over this, but what is right, is right. YOU have my, and George's, commitment on that! To the people that scalp this stuff, the invasion is coming!!! Sandtrooper occupation is imminent ... - Darth Crypt
So, what year was it - 2000, 2001 or 2002?

Trooper Darth Zack reports:
"Just finished the rounds in NW Indiana. Finally got the TRU Landspeeder, there were four left at the Merrillville location. Nothing new at Wal-Mart or Target, can't even find accessory packs anymore. K-Mart has two packs now for $9.99 and just looks like they randomly took Figs and packed them together. Lots of Red clone, and Yoda's. No exclusives yet though. That's about it for now."
So, what year was it - 2000, 2001 or 2002?

Sandtrooper Jon Anderson reports:
"Lately collecting has been giving me a weird feeling. It's not the feeling to quit, its almost the feeling of being overwhelmed. Its not the fact that I am working hard hunting for stuff, its the fact that EVERYTHING nowadays has been hard to get, If I didn't have you I would never have gotten the 12" speederbike, skiff, and the y-wing. without you I would be way worse off. But the scalping market has gotten ridiculous! It seems the more people say "ooh this figure is going to be great" or "wow I really will want to buy that when it comes out" the worse and worse the scalping gets, there is obviously problem with ebay, its for certain by tomorrow the ebay market will be filled with tons and tons of 12" Dewbacks, there are currently 3 up there. I don't know what it is but the fact that EVERYTHING is so hard to obtain that its not as fun, I would rather see shelves full of 12" speeder bikes than to have none around ever at all. I have absolutely no problem buying from you, but its just a terrible feeling to sometimes not be able to find something!

"I haven't bought any figures in a LOOOONG time from a store within exception for a few non rarities like the Wal-Mart exclusive holograph figures. The market is getting rough, from what it seems there is the same amounts of stuff out there as always, but it goes faster, and it's because of people on ebay trying to make a few bucks off of it. A lot of people are experiencing this. I was speaking to my friend Matt Newman who is in a rut to find a 12" Speeder Bike, and a Y-Wing, and when I am in the chat room at www.thejawa.com everybody talks about how they can't find anything they are looking for! Is it lower supplies or is it my theory on scalpers? Man if I didn't have you for the past couple of years I don't know where I would be (lol) you have been a great help and you have made it a lot easier so I don't need to hunt for some things, I certainly hope that POTJ becomes common so the people on ebay paying $100 for a set of 5 figures will learn. I think a lot of people need to learn sometime to wait it out to find something and also that would prevent so many ebay sellers out there that pretty much make money off of it all. The real problem is that there is absolutely nothing anyone can do to stop this lack of supplies or scalping going on! Just spouting off my mind here!"

"Hey troops! I put my armor on this evening before I took the ole dewback to school. Wal-Mart in Strongsville, Ohio is about the only place I have found the new figs. Found the new C-3PO tonight. Although, I'd like to get a hold of the moron that put him on the top shelf (ed. note - someone hiding fgures AGAIN?!). Being that I stand a mere 5' 5" tall, I had to borrow Yoda's lightsaber to cut him free. Other than that, not much new. TRU had the new repainted Republic Gunship. I missed the clonetrooper three pack at TRU in Mentor by a half hour. From what the manger said, they would have only been good for openers. And for once, I wasn't beaten by a SCALP. The gentleman that bought them, got them for his 2 young Padawans. And there you have it!"

Sandtrooper The Corporal reports:
"Hey troops, long time no post,I finally scored something new in NW Indiana, I went to Target last week to buy the Day Of The Dead dvd and walked by the toys and got me the 2 new cinema scenes and a C-3PO with a removable arm, this is the first new Star Wars stuff I've seen since the trash compactor sets came out. I stopped at a few Wal-Marts and they didn't have anything, not even old peg warmers, just a bare spot in the action figure aisle, maybe that's a good thing, clear a spot for new stuff. When is that Clone Wars cartoon going to air? (ed. note - late November). Maybe that's when new stuff will hit the shelves (ed. note - let's hope it won't be THAT long). Hope to post again soon. Semper Fi."

Needs Anyone? - Sandtrooper Scott "SJ" reports:
"Hi Sandtroopers, Scott from Davison, Michigan. Wondering whether anyone needs any of the following: Ephant Mon (2), Imperial Officer (blonde version), Rebel Defender Trooper (reddish-blonde version), Eeth Koth, red Battle Droid, Lama Su with clone youth, Teebo, Library Droids JN-66 and SP-4. Price in my area is about $4.79. I do have a couple needs if trading: Aayla Secura, Wat Tambor, and Ashla and Jempa."

Sandtrooper JEDI COR reports:
"I liked Songwriter's report that came out yesterday, when the fellow Sandtrooper visited the area on Saturday. I followed up and stopped at TRU (Horsehead, NY) on Friday afternoon and they did have 8 bounty hunter sets and one droid launcher. I bought both that day. I also received another Padawan Boy that day, so that's why I was at TRU. Now I have Two Padawan Boys to train to be a Jedi Master some day. MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU ALL    and    KICK SOME SCALPERS A's!"

Sandtrooper Hotjeep360 reports:
"News from Lower Michigan: Target finially got something new. I just bought Imperial Officer, Rebel Trooper, Teebo and Eeth Koth, along with reasearch droids and Jango Fett. It's been a long wait. The Saline Target has 3 packs of Jedi's in chair. Toys 'R' Us - nothing, but did look through and found a Bounty hunter 4 pack with unpainted visor on Fett."

Sandtrooper THE CHAD rebuttal!
"This is in regard to Flikhincubano's post. Buddy,   I     A  M    crying. Crying foul. My posts are not directed at anyone. I am just stating the trouble that I am running into. Are the store employees at the stores in your area bone heads? Ours are. They have told me several stories as to why they haven't gotten any new figures. I am like you, I only found a handful of the newer figures. One thing about me is that I am very outspoken. It feels like everyone is getting an easy break. This is a reality check for you. I don't have the time to find a lot of this stuff because I have to work during the week. Thanks."
c-ryan@mchsi.com

Thanks much Chad. Well said, and no one can argue that some of the clerks are boneheads. As long as you haven't been arrested five times like The Flikhincubano Mountaineers have been, then I say keep up the reports!

Sandtroopette Donna reports:
"Hi Troops, Donna from So Cal. The Cinema Scenes Wave 1 have shown up at TRU and they also received another shipment of the Anakin/Dooku Speeder Bikes. Target has the multi-packs plus Rebel Troopers and Imperial Officers. KB has a bin full of the older figures for $2.99. K-mart and Wal-Mart have nothing new. I have the following for trade: Jedi High Council Cimena Scene Wave 1, Multi-pack w/Blue Trooper, Red Head Rebel Trooper, Blonde Head Imperial Officer. In need of Multi-pack with Green Trooper and Jedi Army Pack. If interested, e-mail me. Happy Hunting to all."

Sandtrooper Jedi Hitch reports:
"Hi Troops! Things are starting to show up again in the Eastern Washington area (mainly Spokane). I picked up the Screen Scenes at Target, as well as the Jedi Army and Clone Army (with blue clone) 3 packs. Target has also been getting the earlier 2003 figures (Tusken Raider, Tyranus, Padme, etc.). Toys 'R' Us chimed in with the Clone Army 3pk (green clone version) and the Bounty Hunter 4pk. Wal-Mart and Kmart have been getting in the Snowtrooper wave with the newer paint job on Boba Fett. I'm also still finding the Spider Droid and Super Battledroid Maker deluxe figures at Fred Meyer and the Deluxe Kamino Jango and Kamino Obi-Wan deluxe figures at Shopko.

"Also, I know it's off the subject of Star Wars but the fine folks over at The Green Dragon (www.thegd.com) are reporting that retailers have been given the opportunity to order FULL CASES of the Lord of the Rings Twilight Frodo! In other words, don't pay $150+ for this figure on ebay. More are coming!!!! Like I said: Off the subject a bit but any news that stick it to scalpers is good news! That's it for now. Take care Troops!"

Sandtrooper So. Cal Jedi Dom reports:
"So Cal Jedi Dom here. I have to agree with Flikhincubano Mountaineer's rant earlier about "THE CHAD" and the whining and complaining we seem to be subjected to on every post he writes. I have wanted to say something about it a long time ago, but figured an editorial about bashing a fellow trooper may have been bad etiquette. I have been contacted by him before, telling me he was going to quit the hobby, that it wasn't worth it anymore, etc, etc. As a matter of fact, a fellow trooper and I had a conversation about this same topic just in the past week. But you cant help but notice the first 5 letters in the email address ("c-ryan"@mchsi.com).

"I always see Chad picking up new things all the time. As a matter of fact, I just saw a post on a separate website of him finding not only the blue clonetrooper 3-pak, but the green one as well! I also noticed he just won star cases or something like that recently on another site also. I have extended offers of help before, even recently regarding the Ultimate Bounty 4-pack, only to be told that a trade was in the works, but that my effort was appreciated. So I know he is trading for things, finding new things, buying new things, many things way before a lot of us have a chance. If he is a Target employee, there should be absolutely no excuse for complaining about not finding anything. As for me, I don't have a green trooper 3-pack, or an Acklay, such as the one he is trying to trade away now.

"Look, I don’t want to start anything, I don't mean any disrespect, I just feel that a lot of people are just as frustrated as Chad, but I hardly see anyone complain as much. We have all been through slow times, but the point of this site has always been to help one another find what others have already found. It is not about gloating, nor pissing and moaning about bad luck and coming up empty. Just swallow your pride, suck it up, and be patient like the rest of us.

"Look at the bright side: At least in Alabama, you can afford to go "hunting" for stuff when gas is what, $1.50 or so a gallon? Out here in California, it takes a 2nd mortgage just to fill the tank up @ $2.25 a gallon, just to go to work and back, let alone driving all over to find stuff. We might as well buy from high priced gorgers (since we are ranting) just to save the cost of fuel! Peace out to everyone!

"P.S. I am trying to sell these Ultimate Bounty Hunter 4 packs at cost plus shipping. I have offered them for almost 2 weeks now, and still nobody has taken me up on the offer! Are you kidding me!?!? Anyways, I have 3, all in mint condition, and will sell for $21.54 (actual cost) plus shipping, which I believe will be between $6-$9. Actual shipping will be tabulated when shipped, and refunds will be given if you overpaid for shipping. You cannot beat that. Many people on this site can vouch for me too. Anyways, if I don’t get any responses by tomorrow, they are all going back on shelves Wednesday. So this is your last chance!"

chicanodom@msn.com

Thanks Dom, we do all like Chad, and I couldn't imagine a "FAIR AND BALANCED" store report rundown without whining and complaining, so, it all balances out in the end.

Sandtrooper California Tim reports:
"Hey Troopers, sorry to say but not much going here in the Bay Area. I did find a TIE Fighter at KB that was kind of beat up, I picked it up anyways because I figure there won’t be another anytime soon. I also found the Cinema pack of Geonosis War Chamber #1 the other day at Target. It’s crazy because either I’m missing everything or we haven’t received anything here in the SF area for awhile. Hopefully tomorrow's outing will change that. Keep up the good fight and remember to kick some scalper a$$."

Thanks for the news Tim, and, I hope the Star Wars situation improves in "Sand" Francisco!

If there is a bright side to the collecting universe,
I am in the area that is furthest from it. I saddled up my Dewback early and went searching for all of the new product everyone has been talking about. I began in Vernon Hills, Illinois, where, on first stop, I found new carded figures. It is too bad they were both Jango Fett Kamino Escape. Then off to the TRU which was completely wiped of the new Bounty Hunter 4-packs, but had plenty of the new battle droid launchers! Is anyone guessing the new pegwarmers for 2003? Then off to Deerfield and Highland Park, Illinois, where there was absolutely nothing except the newer assortments of G.I. Joes, other than that nada, zip! Then I made a sweep through Gurnee, Illinois on the way home. The TRU there had Bounty Hunter packs galore and some new repaint Gunships. There were also a couple new paint Starfighters at Target, and one lone new card Jango Fett. The *%$#@#^&! scalpers won't even buy this one guys, tells you what a weak idea this was to recard all the figures they did this year. I just wonder why out of any toys in the section, why is Star Wars the only one that consistently has 2 year old product? It's disgusting, are there 2 year old shoes? Video games? Greeting Cards? Probably not, but for some reason Star Wars collectors seem to be subjected to buying the same things over and over again. Oh, wait we don't do that, so that's why all that crap is sitting there. Interesting, I just answered my own question. My next question is when are they going to pack all the crap up and get it outta there? Good luck to you Troopers in your searches, Kick A&% and take names!

Flikhincubano Mountaineer Sandtroopers report:
"We're sick, tired, very, very tired. Wassup with this homeboy THE CHAD? What's this crying baby all about? What gives dawgh? This dude seems to be crying about every frikkin' thing!

      *    Cry about no figures online
      *    Cry about figures offline
      *    Cry about Toys R Us
      *    Cry about Target

"DANG!!! DANG!!! DANG!!! Yet, this dood always seems to find every figure and set that comes out or another trooper helps him out. So, what gives? Can this homeboy post about anything else but this continuos cry for figures which later on he finds?

"We are in the middle of nowhere, here in the Florida Mountains of Flikhincubano and for us seeing new figures is as hard as staring at a frog waiting for hair to grow on it. But, you don't see any of us mountaineers crying! We wait, wait, wait. Then when all the lights are out we come down the mountains, cigars in hand, sling shots ready and we bombard our local stores with them! We defeat the snowy weather, we fight the crowds, we are becoming Made-to-win! DO THE SAME, CHAD!

"So far we've gotten 3 NEW FIGURES and we've been arrested 5 TIMES! But, heck! We do not go crying around for the whole world to read! You even work for Target which translates into HANDS ON TRAINING, if you know what we mean! We hope we get posted so Chad can read this and the dood can come to his senses. The Pittsburgh PA SW Collectors Club is Back!
Hey Troops, over Wizard World weekend in Chicago I got a chance to meet many new Troopers who had never heard of us and many who have been fans for years. Trooper Up2Win in Pittsburgh happened to be a fan for years. We had a great time helping out our friends at the Federation and talking about some of the great history of Sandtroopers, some of the great Troopers, some who are still here "fighting the good fight" and the many others who have simply vanished. Odd as it may seem there are some Troopers assembling in Pennsylvania to get some good old fashioned iron fisted Unity! Check out the link if you live in the area and see how you could hook up and possibly become a member of another elite organization made to assist collectors.

And, Now, The SANDBLAST Timeline . . .
Now, the Dateline Timeline ... ALL OF THE FOLLOWING EVENTS HAPPENED DURING THE 24TH DAY OF AUGUST ... DO YOU KNOW WHAT YEAR IT WAS?
Sandtrooper Lex-Wan Kenobi reports:
"Just thought I'd let people know that SE PA like Montgomeryville TRU is starting to get the palm talkers and 12" legacy wave that includes Han Stormtrooper, Death Star Droid (which, if you look closely, he has the same arms as 4-LOM) , and Death Star Trooper. All the boxes are also about an inch shorter than the bounty hunters wave. The figs aren't shorter, just the box. I never did notice that 4-LOM's feet aren't touching the bottom of his box. Anyway, the palm talkers are $9.99 and the 12" figs are the usual $19.99. No TIE Interceptors or Luke, Han, and Emperor's Wrath Vader yet, but hopefully soon. Anyway, happy hunting and have a great Saturday from Lex-Wan Kenobi"
So, what year was it - 2000, 2001 or 2002?

Posted by: George
I knew it, I knew it, we got our first report from a sandtroopette and we are really pleased to post it, thanks a lot Shannon.
"I saw your cry for female input to the sandtroopers.com site...so here I am! Just to let you know, I have been scouring the Frederick, MD area for any good SW items and so far I have come up dry. Both the Frederick Target and Wal-Mart have yet to display any POTJ figures. And the Target employees keep telling me they "are out" everytime I have them do a location check. They suck! I also checked into the Westminster, MD Toyworks for the Rancor, and they said they have been out since last Christmas. Anyway, hopefully I will eventually have good news to report to you guys!" - Shannon
So, what year was it - 2000, 2001 or 2002?

Sandtrooper Lex-Wan (Jedi Spirit) reports:
"And now for the greater Mid-East PA news: Yes, you've guessed it, the Wal-marts in PA are getting the Cantina Bar exclusives but the funny thing is I thought all the Super Wal-marts got all new product in first, but not so with these Cantina sets, all super Wal-marts in the area had none, just piles & piles of EP2 figs, none higher than #40 in the Saga line. These new sets were at regular Wal-marts only, so if you're having a hard time finding the "Baba bunch" as I like to call them, I suggest abandoning your super Wal-Mart & heading for the regular ol' Wal-Mart - you might have better luck. The only thing I don't like about these new exclusives is that they don't come with weapons, all these guys had blasters in the movie, so why no guns? Maybe another politically correct toy from Lucas like the non-smoking Dex. I guess it's not good to show kids that will buy this set of figs, that weapons in a bar is okay, just glasses. Well anyway, so be it. As for other stores, everyone else had nothing. I did see the X-wing at TRU but no Luke & Tauntaun or Landspeeder. I also saw at TRU they had 6 Ultra Magnus & 4 Optimus Prime 'go TF's,' so to all I say happy hunting!"
So, what year was it - 2000, 2001 or 2002?

    Send your answers to jason@sandtroopers.com.

YESTERDAY'S (8/23) ANSWERS ... SO, WHAT YEAR WAS IT?
Uncle George's great comeback? - It was 2002.
Palm Talkers in "Sand" Francisco? - It was 2001.
We were looking for Sandtroopettes (ed. note: we still are!)? - It was 2000

Nobody in Trooperland got all three correct. Tonight's are much easier. Stay tuned for the next installment. We stay in touch, so you'll be in touch!

"Trooper Vindicator kickin' it live in BC Canada with a routine patrol - not much shaking up here. Ultimate Bounty found at TRU, jack schidt at Wally, and Zellers is still representin' like it's 1999. Anyone need a Commtech reader? No kidding. The news abounds that we up here have seen our first, last, and only 2003 figures with a mixed batch of waves 1 and 2 from collection 1 being found, mainly in Ontario. Do a neighbor a solid, post notices when you can score extra new figures so we can holler down for help."

Trooper "THE CHAD" Reports:
"Ever since Target finished their resets I haven't seen squat there. The Clone Wars 3-packs, were they hanging from the pegs or setting on the shelf? My Target doesn't have a designated spot for them. There is only 2 rows of pegs for the Collection 1 and 2 figures, no tag for the Clone Trooper 3-packs. That the hell is going on? And as usual the Target employees don't know s$%^."
c-ryan@mchsi.com

Hey Chad, I noticed the same thing too. Target is scaling back it seems the entire toy section. I notice in all the Targets in my area the Masters of the Universe line has been dropped. I was wondering whether this was nation wide. Now that we have seen an increase in product we probably won't see anything new until Christmas. Oh and by the way, aren't YOU a Target employee?!?

Sandtrooper Songwrtr reports:
"Got to do a toy run in the Elmira, NY area before a gig in Horseheads. The TRU in Big Flats had a lone remaining Bounty Hunters set, so I was able to check that off the list. Otherwise, the pegs remain full of the Duros wave of POTJ and Jango Pilots (this time with a few Clone Pilots thrown in for good measure). They do still have a full case of the Imperial 4-pack out, as well as other odds and ends including the Clone Wars Gunship.

"Wal-Mart has the same pegs of Jango and Amidala Pilots that they've had for about six months. With the re-set, the 2 remaining Saga TIE Bombers moved back to the top shelf, where they'll remain until clearanced. KB had at least two of the exclusive TIE Fighters. I'd already ordered one from their web store earlier this week. The manager told me they'd gotten one case of the Gammorean Guard 12" figures, but one guy had come in and bought them all. I picked that up on-line as well.

"The only sign of life for new standard figures was the Horseheads K-Mart of all places. This was the store that was so hostile to Star Wars a year ago that it was charging at least .50 per figure more than any other K-Mart and that never got anything new after the April 23 merch. There were remnants of the first "gold" card case (a Jango reissue), as well as of the Clone Wars three packs (the Battle Droid Launcher). After coming up completely dry in the Binghamton area the week before (which preceded a gig in Johnson City) and Elmira the week before that, it was nice to see any sign of life even if it was mostly stuff that I've got on order with e-tailers.

"Aside from that, the pegs at the Ithaca, NY Target have been empty and gray-dotted for about two weeks now. Looking forward to seeing what arrives. Hoping to finally be able to start building that Clone Trooper army and pick up the Jedi trio. I did go the on-line route for both the A-Wing and the Leia and Speederbike; didn't want to chance them not arriving here. The Ithaca K-Mart is bucking the Pilot Jango trend that seems prevalent in much of the country; we've got Mace Windu figures to burn instead.

"As a final thought, after looking at the photos that have been posted of the forthcoming Clone Wars double packs, especially those in the shipping cartons, I'm expecting them to turn up as either Sam's Club or BJ's exclusives here. It looks like they're shipping in displays, which is typical for the warehouse clubs. That's pure conjecture on my part, of course. YMMV."

Sandtrooper Tim Reports:
"Hey Troopers, Not much going on here in San Francisco, however, I did find two of the palm talkers, C-3PO and R2. They are now enjoying their new lives in my collection. Other than that ... nada. MTFBWY"

Posted by: George: "Where are the Sandtroopettes?" It is clearly visible the lack of news posted by collectors from the opposite sex at different collectors sites, what's going on girls? Send us your news or comments. I know there are a lot of females in the hobby out there, feel free to throw us a line and let us hear from you.

Posted by Darth Sinister: NEW POTJ FOUND AT WAL-MART
That's right Troopers. Imagine my surprise when I entered my local Wal-Mart last weekend to find that a slew of figures must have snuck out into the POTJ line. What I found on the pegs were POTJ Watto, Ody Mandrell minus the Otoga 222 Pit Droid, Adi Galia, Rune Haako, R2-D2, and Nute Gunray! ...
It was 2001.
