Sandtrooper Boba Binks Reports: To Collect and Serve!
You really gotta be hurtin!I've been in the infirmary as of late but on the way home from the doctor, I stopped in at Wal-Mart and I saw this! It is the Episode 2 Obi-Wan placed in a newer Obi-Wan Kenobi package. Who ever did this is a low life jerk. I looked at the other figures but did not see any that were tampered with. I took this figure up to the service desk and asked for the manager. I told her I just took this off the pegs and she replied that she would take care of this and file a theft/tampering report. I do not know if that will happen or not but at least this situation has been brought to their attention. If you spot things like this, the best thing to do is report it to the service desk if you have time. United We Find!

Mos Eisley News Brief: 2009 the Pinnacle?
An article published by the LA Times is stating sales of merchandise with a cinematic hook could reach an all-time high this year. The Transformers 2 sequel has brought in $480 million in revenue for Hasbro, ranking second to the true master Star Wars. It would be quite a task for any toy line to surpass the ultimate Force in the toy industry since Star Wars characters and spaceships have accounted for $18 billion in global sales since George Lucas' first film in 1977. Interesting Notes from Latest SWTOR Blog
The official site for the upcoming Star Wars: The Old Republic has recently added a new blog entry, which happens to contain some very interesting information about the game. The one that stands out from the rest has to be how big the game will be, as LucasArts states "The Old Republic is the size of at least 10 KOTORs recorded back to back." It's hard to imagine just how big that will actually be, but it's going to be huge! There's nothing better to a game, especially when it's a Star Wars themed game, than when the world is huge to explore. One other item worth mentioning is how "the entire game 'script' contains approximately 40+ novels worth of content." The more I hear about this game's development, the more I wish I could play it right now! Unfortunately a release date has not been determined yet, but they can take all the time in the world to make sure this game is the best it can possibly be. Read the entire blog entry for yourself here, and make sure to share your thoughts about it in the forums.

They also have a couple of prototype images, and even a theory of the "Shadows of the Empire" TIE Fighter that JediDefender.com broke last month! If that wasn't enough, they have some Intel on the Target Exclusive Geonosis Arena two-packs. For more, grab your drink and head for the Sail Barge at Yakface.com for the

Sandtrooper Dennis Reports:
24/7 S.C.A.L.P. Trooper“Hey Troopers, I stopped by the Super Wal-Mart in Waukegan, IL and I noticed the Hoth Soldiers and Emperors on the pegs. To my surprise, the Hoth Soldiers and Space Troopers had the HK-47 BAD parts. I then decided to check other Wal-Mart stores for any ESB or AOTC figures. Long story short, the Round Lake Wal-Mart had the entire ESB wave plus Captain Typho and Obi-Wan from the AOTC wave in stock. There is some bad news however. More Saga Legends on the new cards are showing up in greater numbers. That's all for now. Later Troopers.”

Hasbro Q & A Session:
Latest Q&A from HasbroWe are happy to report we've received our latest round of questions from the high command of Hasbro for July. What's with the heavy price tag on the new Clone Wars Y-Wing? Why doesn't Hasbro include instructions or what is included with figures? What are the chances that we might see some figures from the upcoming Old Republic video game? We encourage you to log-in to the forums and check out what they had to say. We also have a set for this round for theJawa.com so make sure to check our our glowing-eyed friends too. Please note we will NOT have a set in the next round due to the fact they tend to be a little tight-lipped around big events. Do you have a question for the Hasbro Q & A Team? Log-in and leave your question in the forums for the next round submitted.

Sandtrooper dustrho Reporting In:
S.C.A.L.P. Weapons SupplierWent out to Target and Wal-Mart in the Oswego area this weekend, and was lucky enough to have found some new items on the pegs. Picked up Aunt Beru, Uncle Owen, Captain Typho, Ugnuaght and concept Vader at Wal-Mart today. I like the look of the concept Vader. They had all the other figures from that wave on the pegs, but I passed on them. The only other one that looked worthy of buying was the ARC trooper, but I have enough clone troopers in my collection. It sure was a treat to finally see some new figures on the pegs. Plus, Target and Wal-Mart both had tons of the bobble heads and new vehicles sitting on the shelves (e.g. vulture droids, magna fighters, etc). United We Find!

Sandwatch Guides: Electronic Power F/X R2-D2
The Droid we are looking for!Our Sandwatch Guides have been updated with the first of many Electronic Power F/X figures from the Power of the Force line. R2-D2 was one of the Droids we were looking for, and this electronic powered R2-D2 figure was one of the first occasions Hasbro used the packages for dioramas. Too bad they couldn't revisit this figure concept with the new packages in the current line. For more, check out the revamped guide. Thanks to Boba Binks for never giving up the search!

Happy 4th of July Troops
The team at Sandtroopers.com would like to wish all of our ground forces a very Happy and safe Fourth of July. Even though the times are a tad dark, stocks are down and unemployment is up, we encourage you all to take the time to enjoy your family and friends. Whether it is a cook out, parade or just blowing off a few firecrackers, we wish you the very best in celebrating the Independence of the United States. We have to remember the words of John F. Kennedy during these trying times. "And so, my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country". We thank our men and women in uniform as we finally leave Iraq in victory, and wish them the best during their mission in Afghanistan.
