This morning I was checking my email when I noticed I had received my Star Wars Delta Source newsletter (Hyperspace members only). Normally when I see this I don't typcially get excited about what the content entails, but that all changed this morning when I noticed a smaller article in this HTML newsletter was titled "The Lucasfilm Licensing Archives Revealed." That sparked my interest a bit, and I decided to immediately check it out for myself. |
I logged into Hyperspace and was taken to the article's web page, and the article was a good read. Better yet though was the images that were photographed by Lucasfilm, and I couldn't believe what I was looking at. There were boxes and boxes of vintage 12-back figures, POTF figures, vintage vehicles, vintage toy weapons, arcade machines, Stormtrooper gear, and so much more. It was like heaven to any Star Wars collector, to just see all that in one location. It was truly amazing! So, you will have to check out the images and read the article here. It's definitely something you don't want to pass up. |

The Official Site has added more content to their Hyperspace section, by adding the "Lucasfilm Fan Club Magazine #2 Online Supplement." This throwback is for those who want to go back to 1988. In this online issue you get to take a look at Lucasfilm and ILM, go behind the scenes of "Willow," read about the exclusive update to "Indiana Jones III," a tribute to the late director of "Return of the Jedi," Richard Marquand, and much more. You have to be a Hyperspace member in order to view this section, and if you are you don't want to miss out on this! Check it out here. |
If you're a Hyperspace member, you'll have a good read today after reading the latest Episode III Set Diary. The diary goes into detail about several Jedi that were originally scripted to be in Revenge of the Sith, but for whatever reasons they were not included in the final cuts of the film. Some of the Jedi mentioned are Barriss Offee, Luminara Unduli, and Quinlan Vos. Yes, Quinlan Vos was supposed to have had a brief spot in the film, but unfortunately his scene was was never filmed. Read the full diary entry here. |
"Maybe we are behind the times a bit, but we found the Target Yoda collector's cup this past weekend at the Kirkwood Target. We passed on the Han Solo, but wished we hadn't later because the cups STILL aren't in the system! I thought the supervisor said it was $9.99, but we ended up only geting charged $5.24 for it. I'll admit I feel a little guilty about it, but I can't believe they haven't updated their systems in over a month to include these items." |

George Lucas has recently opened up his new Lucasfilm, Ltd. headquaraters in San Francisco, CA, and employees of his empire will begin moving into the facility in early July. The 23-acre complex will house the entertainment industry's most sophisticated digital arts and entertainment center in the world. Read the full article here. |
“Found the Wookiee Flyer at my local Toys R Us in Murrieta, Ca this past week. Not much else, however I do have an extra complete set of the Bacara wave, all in excellent C-9.5+ condition. Looking to trade for the Zett Jukassa wave if anyone finds an extra set, a blue or green Trooper 3-pack, or I will sell them at cost plus shipping. I would rather not return them if someone out there needs them. Drop me a line with offers.”chicanodom@msn.com |
“HothChad from Central Minnesota. After being pretty slow around here for a few weeks, some new stuff is starting to show up. Today and yesterday I did find the Wookiee Flyer and figures #48-50. Found these at two different Targets. Wal-Mart hasn’t had anything new for quite awhile. Have yet to see any figures #45-47 anywhere. Hopefully they are not passing over that wave. Have seen the 3 packs of clone troopers in the all white and the brown version. Until next time HothChad out.”chadbarb@sherbtel.net |

“Troops, on my hunt in east central Whiskey I found the Wookiee Flyer (the helicopter in the Kashyyyk scenes in ROTS). It was at Target and rang up for a reasonable $14.99. It comes with a Wookiee in a seated position. Doesn't look like he's articulated. There's room for another Wookiee in the rear-facing seat (Dackbacca?). And I hate to be picky, but a note to Tim and Amy from St. Louis: the line is not "Luke, I am your father." It's "No, I am your father." Not quite as memorable and maybe that's why it didn't make it into the top 100 movie quotes of all time. Just thought I'd pass that on. Good luck with the hunt.”bsollitto@new.rr.com |

“There is not much happening here in St. Louis. We finally found the deluxe clone 2-pack this past week at the Kirkwood Target (the white "clean" version). And even though their pegs were full, they had no new waves - we still haven't even seen the Bacara wave anywhere! We found out yesterday how to order some of the Darth Mickey Star Wars Weekend exclusive plush online! Tim's brother works at DisneyWorld and he gave us the scoop - I can forward the website on to anyone who is interested. They retail for $12.99 (not $45 like on ebay!), and the orders won't ship until September. On a non-collecting related note, how ridiculous was it that "Luke, I am your father." didn't make it into the top 100 movie quotes of all time? We were shocked. That's about it for now - MTFBWY.”UPDATE: "Just as we were grumping about not finding anything, we found a bunch today! Before I start on that though - no offense taken Dom. I (Amy) usually do most of the typing, and I am not NEARLY the Star Wars expert as Tim (probably because I'm so much younger ). He immediately pointed out my mistake as well. Perhaps you are right - but they did put in "Play it, Sam. Play 'As Time Goes By'" from Casablanca, even though everyone thinks its "Play it again Sam." (including me!). Sorry, I digress, but I still think it was an injustice. Today, we ventured out to Target in Fenton and we found the Bacara wave - they had probably at least 5 of each (Bacara, R2D2, and Mustafar Anakin). We also snagged another clone deluxe 3 pack - they had several of those too. Lots of other of waves 2 and 3 deluxe figures - even a Vader on the table. They also had the newest Playskool Jedi Force figures - we passed on them for now, but we're already contemplating another trip out there. They had Vader, Mace Windu, Yoda, and the new Luke. They also had 2 of the newer MicroMachines playsets that look like ships - we really like those, but $19.99 seems a little steep." ajh88@sbcglobal.net |
What's going on Troops? It's been sometime since I last checked in. I hope all is well. In the metro west area of Massachusetts (Franklin, Milford, Oxford, Worcester, etc.) it has been pretty slow. Some toys have started to show up in the last few weeks, but as soon as they are put out they disappear. Last week I was able to find all 3 figures in the Crispy Anakin wave at the Westborough Wal-Mart. The Tarkin wave has only showed up once, and Tarkin is the last figure I need to be caught up with. Still haven't seen the 500th Vader or any of the new Unleashed yet. That's all for now. Take care everyone. |
“Here's a store report for 6/24/05. I went to see Batman Begins which by the way is a great flick. After the film, I decided to check out the stores for any new SW items. Wal-Mart (Gurnee, IL) “has the new Mace Windu, Chewbacca, & Clone Trooper Force Battlers. However, no new basic figures. They also have Darth Tater in stock. The rest of the stores were also lacking of newer figures. That's all for now. The scalpers are pretty think up here, if the Bacara wave is showing I'm not finding it.” wrightcombo@juno.com |
“Hey Troops! Sithryan reporting in! Found Bacara, R2 electronic, and Toasted Anakin at Wal-Mart today, but not in the quantities as mentioned in previous posts from other parts of the country. There were about 3 Bacaras, 6 R2's and 4 Anakins left. Also, they had 6 clone army packs. Had to pass due to financial constraints, or I'd have picked up extras for the troops. Keep looking for new swag, as it's slowly trickling out. MTFBWY ALL!”sithryan@msn.com |

Word coming in from CNN is that James Earl Jones, the voice behind Darth Vader, is in very poor health. It is suspected that he has pneumonia. It is speculated that this will be no different than the versions for Xbox and PS2. |

“Bobafred chiming in from the valley in So Cali With Some Lava Hot. Just wanted to drop some 411 on my latest bounty... I ran into 30 cases of Ani super crisp, Bacara, and R2-D2. It seems like Hasbro has really trying to get this out for every one! Wal-Mart Porter Ranch was the host store with a super bin, and pegs filled to the rim. After a little reconnaissance in the S.F.V., and greater Los Angeles I am very shocked to see all the empty/bone dry shelves of Hasbro Star Wars product. It’s so rough that it is really flying off the shelf in all stores! The hype is at its peak out here in So Cali, that some ones grandma was caught dashing through the aisles. As you all know Bobafred likes to keep the Troops smiling so here we go. I kind of had to hold back on this till I secured my Bounty so here we go. 500 Vader hitting Toys R Us. O.K. I guess you all knew that but did you know you could track it with DCPI 123778! For those troops who cant get out I have two extra sets of Ani, Bacara, R2D2, Emperor Palpatine Blue Saber variant, Red & Royal Guard, Target Exclusive Clone, 500 Vader. In need of Unleashed Anakin first issue, Padme, and Jedi Luke. Clone Wars Red Arc Trooper non-animated, and red clone animated. Saga R2-D2 in flight. Drop me a jingle so we can work it out!”orozco91331@yahoo.com |
The vehicle that Plo Koon would die in, his blue and gray Jedi Starfighter, was recently announced that it would not be produced for sale in the United States. Target has now taken up the slack, and will be the exclusive retail chain to sell this vehicle. It seems to be the same one we saw in the Saga versions, but maybe Hasbro has added a new feature or two that would make purchasing this ship worth our while. For the moment, it doesn't appear to include a Plo Koon action figure, but it sure would have been nice to see a new Plo Koon for this rehashed ride. |

“Hey Troops! Big scores today at the Quarry shopping center in LaGrange, Illinois (Hodgkins/Countryside) on my lunchtime run. Wal-Mart had at least twenty, yes twenty of each of the new figures No. 48-50, each looking very good and they threw in the Jabba's dungeon sound effect on the R2-D2. Target in the same plaza had the same new wave, albeit in fewer numbers, and had deluxe no-shine table Vaders and both all-white and red-trim Clone three-packs. Thanks to Lord Darth Spice for the theatrical release Father's Day posters and for helping me abscond with a Tarkin on a north Illinois Knight Rider run. To the Troopers who have sent payment or trade booty for BK Darth Vaders: I'm sending parcels this weekend. If you haven't sent payment, I haven't run out, so drop me a line if interested. Looking for an animated blue-trim Clone for trade. Scalpers blow their engines fleeing from my pursuit!”jason.meyers@gm.com |

Do you hate waiting in long lines just for one stinking exclusive action figure? Remember the days at Celebration III, where you waited for several hours, just to get your hands on the Talking Darth Vader? Well, at this year's San Diego Comic-Con you won't have to wait in line again, because this time you can pre-order the Comic-Con exclusive Holographic Leia figure on the StarWarsShop.com website. This will save you a lot of time and stress, and will give you the opportunity to enjoy the event that much more. The figure costs $14 and comes with its very own collector case. There is a limit of four per person. |

"DarthPharaoh checking in NE of Hotlanta. It's been slow here lately but Targets around here are finally getting real amounts of the newest Deluxe figures. Last night I picked up the Crab Droid to go with my Spider Droid and Stass Allie. Still no luck on the Trooper pack but just a matter of timing I guess as three Targets had the other three. Still no sign at all of the Tarkin or Bacara wave, but if form holds true at Target they should start to show up in a week or so. Target has also had the new Blockade Runner and Grievous' Flagship sets and new cups though I don't collect those. Nothing new at all at our local Wal-Marts or TRU who are both getting low on any figures, except for the Neimoidian Warriors who seem to reproduce on the pegs (that must be a sight!). On a different note, is there anyone who is going to Comic-Con that can help me with a Holo Leia? Please let me know, you're my only hope! Death to all scalpers! I'm out."djohnson@internap.com |

Anakin Skywalker was once a young Padawan learner under the close guidance of Obi-Wan Kenobi. He learned much from the great Jedi Master, and upon proving himself he was granted the rewarding title of Jedi Knight. Soon after, he was winning battle after battle for the Jedi Order, and sadly he was never promoted to the high ranking of Jedi Master. By not making that particular rank, it drove Anakin toward the path of the Dark Side of the Force. With the guidance from Chancellor Palpatine, Anakin turned into Darth Vader, and betrayed the Jedi.Hasbro is proud to announce a new line of Star Wars action figures, with the brand new concept called "Evolutions." In this exciting new 3-pack you will receive Anakin Skywalker from Episode II and III, and also the transformed Anakin Skywalker who is then only known as Darth Vader. Be sure to check out the exciting image of this set and read more about this here. |

"It's getting "HOT" again in Jersey and not just the figures. Today I saw the Crispy Anakin, Bakara and R2 at Wal-Mart in Marlton and also the Green Clone Three pack. My Target in Cherry Hill has the new ROTS cup sets. I am tring to find out when the toy transition or revision will be set to make way for the Evolution and 500th figures. If I find out I'll pass it along. Just remember the dates are not written in stone. So remember if a reset is July 2nd, don't expect to walk in July 3rd to new figures."kmclark14@comcast.net |
We've all seen Revenge of the Sith, and many of us have wondered what happened to Shaak Ti. Did she die in battle? Did she survive the Jedi massacre brought on by the clone troopers? Did she end up fighting Count Dooku or the military leader of the Separatist Army, General Grievous? If you're a Hyperspace member you'll be able to learn the true story behind Shaak Ti, and why she wasn't seen in the film. Read what really happened to her here. |

“It has been a few weeks since I have posted anything, so I thought I would let everyone know that things are beginning to hit out here in So Cal. Inland Empire troopers, be on the lookout; I found the Bacara wave today and purchased a second set from the Wal-Mart in Murrieta. I showed up just as they were being placed on the shelves (about 4:30 pm) right after I got off work. That, by the way, is an extremely unusual time to do so. They had 4 cases, each containing 2 each of the 3 new figures. The extra set I have came straight from the case. I would like to trade these 3 for the Tarkin wave if someone has an extra set or can get an extra set. In addition, I also found the clone trooper 3-pack in red-brown color at the Target in Menifee and was also able to pick up an extra one in excellent C-9 to C-9.5 condition. I would like to trade my extra one for one of the other 3-pack color variants that are out there. There was also the Crab Droid, Spider Droid, Stass Allie, an entire village of Neimoidian Warriors (about 30 or so) and what appeared to be the remnants of the Bacara wave, which I left behind. Any troopers want to help? Send me an email with your offers. I also wanted to shout out to a fellow trooper named Kirk Black from Maryland. If nobody has dealt with him before, he is trustworthy and will come through for you. Trooper Sithryan has also helped out in more ways than one. Thanks guys!”chicanodom@msn.com |

"Hi Troopers. The Crab Droid and Clone Trooper 3-Pack are back in stock at Walmart.com. They didn't last long earlier in the week. Unfortunately, I don't have any news from the retail stores in my area. Things are pretty slow around here. I'm waiting for news from Comic-Con and hoping that there's going to be some sweet new product for the fall/holiday season. Trooper Jon out."KaperJB@aol.com |
“Collecting has been going well (mind you a little full tilt lately due to all the new product coming out, ^#&$%^#$ U.S. Exclusives really tick off this Canucklehead but I've kept up to speed thanks to some really good people south of the border). Canada-wise we've seen every basic figure through 44 and deluxe 1-8 except for variants - No blue guards, No dark Wookiee Warriors, No blue Vulture Droids. The only exclusive that we've had the chance to buy at retail was Holo Yoda. We've had the chance to get all the vehicles and the Mustafar set - No TRU variant Ani fighters with figures though. They might still show up. No Evolution sets up here yet, but I haven't read that they're down there either. I was really happy with the movie, I managed to stay about 90% spoiler free and was really surprised with how most of the stuff came about. My first impression was great, and now that I've seen it a few more times I'm still satisfied. Sorry for not writing for such a long time, but I’ve been very busy. Congrats to Darth Spice and his new cyber Galactic Empire! Until next time Troops!”jjreason@telus.net |

“Here's yet another small store report during this slow summer. Target (Gurnee, IL) “had the same Micro playsets as the Waukegan Target. They also had only one Stass Allie from the deluxe line & 3 Boba Fett glasses. Target:(Waukegan, IL) “had the Tantive IV & Federation Cruiser Micro Machines playsets. That's all the new stuff I saw this morning. Everything else consists of figures up to #44, & lots of Vader Helmets. No sign of the Tarkin wave or newer 12-inch figures. That's all for now. Later.” wrightcombo@juno.com |
"Hey guys, bigmikehodge here in Cincy, Ohio, with a long overdue store report. Went out yesterday and found plenty of the Tarkin wave at two different Wal-Mart stores. Target and Toys 'R Us were both busts. I went out this morning and to my surprise I found 3 of the green Clone Trooper 3 packs at the same Wal-Marts as yesterday. If anyone can help me out with a red Clone Trooper pack I would really be grateful. Thanks a lot." |

Just kidding Troops! It's not the holiday season quite yet, but it sure will be here in a hurry. The Official Site has recently announced a huge lineup of new Star Wars collectibles that will be here just in time for the holidays. Coming to the StarWarsShop.com website will be a whole slew of goodies, ranging from blown glass and porcelain ornaments, snow globes, pewter items (vehicles, helmets and figures), and ornaments made out of polyresin (M&M M-Pire figures and miniature vehicles). All of this will be readily available starting today. Read more about this here. |

“Hi Troops, Donna from So Cal with a long overdue report. Finally getting back into the swing of things after a 10-day vacation in Orlando, FL, which included the first SW Weekend at the MGM Studios. I would like to thank Dustrho for setting up the link to my report and pictures from that event. As to store reports, here is what I have found in the last two weeks. At Target, scored the Sith Attack and Mustafar Duel Battle Sets, Han Solo and Yoda cup sets, and the third wave of deluxe figs except for the Clonetrooper 3-pack. At TRU, I was able to find one set of the Tarkin wave and the #2 Anakin w/pink saber. At Wal-Mart, I was only able to find #48 R2D2. Next, I would like to shout "Thanks" to two fellow troopers, Robert Amid and Danilo Rose, for our recent trades. Lastly, I have another trade offer. I was able to snag a couple of extra exclusive pins from the SW Weekend. They are the Opening Day Pin and the Logo Pin. I am looking for Clone Wars Kit Fisto, Saesee Tiin, and Clone Troopers (facing right and left), Unleashed Stormtrooper, Post-OTC Sandtrooper, and any of the ROTS Clonetrooper 3-packs. Please email me if interested in trading. Happy Hunting!”Theloneswlady@aol.com |
If you don't have plans for this Father's Day weekend you might want to visit to your local movie theater to see Revenge of the Sith again. Why? Well, participating movie theaters will be giving away a free "Who's Your Daddy?" movie poster. The post has Darth Vader holding his left hand up as if he were just about to choke you to death, and in the background you see the firey molten planet of Mustafar. This is one poster you don't want to miss out on! Read the full story here. |

"Hi Troopers. If you want a Clone Trooper 3 Pack or a Crab Droid, you'll definitely want to visit to Walmart.com ASAP. Trooper Jon out."Thanks for the tip Jon! "You've got to be kidding me, right?" That was the immediate reaction I had when I read this article over at the Official Site this morning. In a nutshell, Virgina Airlines will be offering four differently designed barf bags on their Virgin Atlantic flights. Head of Media of Virgin Atlantic Lysette Gauna says, "The reaction has been really positive. Some crew will make passengers aware of them, others allow them to discover them themselves -- and of course there are also some people who, from the press reports, are aware of them already and eager to get their collection going." I can tell you right now that this is something I will NOT be adding to my collection. |
The Official Site has added more content to their Hyperspace section, by adding the "Lucasfilm Fan Club Magazine #1 Online Supplement." This throwback is for those who want to go back to 1987, which was the ten year anniversary of the original Star Wars film (now titled "A New Hope"). Some of the features included in this online supplement are: "Welcome Back" letter, letter from George Lucas, Looking at Lucasfilm, inside look at the films "Willow" and "Tucker," the 10th Anniversary Convention, Inside ILM: The Art of Special Effects, Collections, and more. The Revenge of the Sith video game has been reveiewed again, and this time it's by online media source Timesleader.com (northeastern Pennsylvania's home page). Their writer, Mat Giordano, gave the game a pathetic 2 out of 5 star rating, but did a pretty good job at explaining his rating. He was quoted by saying, "With compromised graphics, a loosely-wound storyline which only vaguely follows the plot of the film and less than desirable voice acting, this may be one of Star Wars' biggest merchandising debacles ever." Read his full review here, and don't forget to voice your opinions about the game in our forums. |
Hasbro will be releasing this Fall will be the addition of two more Force Battlers figures... Emperor Palpatine and Yoda. Hasbro has recently announced something for those who want to be the terrorizing menace on the block, and a great way to accomplish that is to pretend you're the Dark Lord of the Sith... Darth Vader! The Ultimate Darth Vader Kit comes with the already released talking helmet (makes electronic breathing sounds and changes your voice to sound just Vader), a cape and of course a red lightsaber. This is scheduled to be released sometime this Fall. Read more about this here. |
"Hey Troops! There is not much to be found these days at ANY local Target, Wal-Mart, or Toys R Us stores. It seems that product is shipping at a slower rate now, so the hunt really begins now. I am in need of the Sneak Preview R4-G9 in C 8.5 or better condition. Can anyone help? Let me know. I missed out on this one. Thanks, and MTFBWY all."sithryan@msn.com |
