Force of the Bay
Spiceowan back at you Troops from the Dark Side of scalpers and scum on sector E-Bay to bring you some true collectable treats. First on the menu in this 2-pack Never seen these in stores growing up. Also felt a little nostalgia when I stumbled on this vintage goodie, I can't believe the condition on this one. Wanna be like Jango? This will send you in that direction. So you don't have time to make your own costume? This one here is complete and looked pretty decent. I saved this for last, this is where E-Bay gets scary. You can never be sure what is real or fake but this will make you wonder. If it is real than that is one hell of a collectable, if it's fake I feel for that winning bidder.I do not remember that character in E1 but I have been known to be wrong from time to time. Until next time Troops , Kick A&% and take names !

Trooper Young George Lucas Reports:
Hey, folks. Young George Lucas reporting from the Kansas City area. I finally found the Boba/Jango and Darth Maul Unleashed figures. They are okay- but I still prefer the old "Epic Force" line of figures. I guess I like movie-realistic figures to the whole "artistic impression of characters" crap- the "ballet Darth Maul" is just not that imposing.
I also spotted 1 Palpatine and 1 Djas at my neighborhood Target- these two seem to be very scarce around here. Have a better one.

Trooper JeffRed5 Reports:
Hey Troopers, I just got the new Djas Puhr action figure. When I was at the store I met a fellow collector and we were discussing the new figure but, neither of us remember seeing him in the movie. I know he is supposed to be in "A New Hope" and I heard he is supposed to be in the cantina. So, I went home and reviewed my copy of the cantina scene in "A New Hope" and couldn't find him. So, I thought he might have been added to the Special Edition, but I can't find him there. Can anyone tell me where he is?

Trooper California Tim Reports:
12 Yellow and Red clone troopers are starting to trickle in, picked up one of each the other day at Tanforan KB. Colma TRU and Stonestown KB had a few of the Lukes but no blood or bbq effect. Guess were vanilla here in SF. I still havent seen the Palpatine wave nor the Saga Han. Oh, oh, oh I did receive my Masters Replica of Lukes ROTJ light saber today. It is sweet, comes with certificate of authenticity, inscribed plating with production number and the catalog they were handing out at C2. Its pretty heavy too. Now I have to figure out where its going to go in the museum. Happy hunting everyone!

Whats up troops and troopettes....
just to say something..I found a "charred" Luke Bespin also....this with the magnet in the arm...not sure if it is a paint error(the dye used on lukes clothing may have spilled over onto the stump??) anyway, it is actually the best looking version I've seen...looks like actual Lightsaber damage..also, if anyone has info on a Luminari with no date stamp, I'd like to know....and as before listed, I have a R2 with backdrop( reg. legs) if anyone needs one...looking for any fig. past Luke/Vader wave....

Just thought I'd add to the latest post on Trooper Corleone's Bloody wrist with magnet in stump. I too have this variation, however I believe mine is a charred version with magnet out of the arm/stump. It also has the magnet on the hand too, but the magnet is definately sticking out the charred stump. I've enclosed pics from my dollar special digital camera. Thanks for THE BEST SW site!

Man a good Chewy is hard to find. Hey to all! Today's report (Allentown, PA area) : KB's got more drop shipments in this week. Found that Wal-mart & KB today (6/27/02) all got in like 1 case of the Han, Chewy, Obi pilot wave, but it was the case assortment of 1 Han, 1 Chewy, & 2 Obi pilot & wouldn't you know it - I saw 3 Chewy's & all the cards were bent I'm sorry but I know a scalper crunch when I see it - man that sucked! The only fig that had that huge 3 inch long slanted crease was Chewy, the scalper must have been right handed. I thought I scared all the scalpers with force but I guess 1 got by! Anyway, saw a whole bunch of the Ackley today too smell you'all later - Lex-Wan

Trooper Count Hitch Reports:
I haven't seen a post on this yet, so I thought I'd mention it. I
checked both of my local Kmart stores (Spokane, WA) and found that the prices for the saga figures have finally dropped to $5.49 (down from $6.99). They also had several new figs, including Palpatine and Djas Phur, and the Endor Soldier wave. They also had the new Han, but no Chewie or Obi-Wan Pilot. The deluxe figs are still $10.99. They also had some 12" Jango Fetts left at $34.99. Looks like it's one more place to start looking for new figures!

Sandtrooper Darth-Dallas reports:
My buddy Mike is battling thyroid cancer at this time. He is in the hospital now (Wednesday-Friday, 26th-28th). He will be leaving Saturday morning the 29th. He is receiving treatment (swallowed a radioactive pill) and is alone in a room by himself and is not aloud to have any visitors. When a nurse comes in she can't stay more than ten minutes at a time and she must dress in a special suit. They come in every hour to check the radiation level in the room. So as you can see he is in a bad situation as we speak. I was wondering since he is a fellow Star Wars fan and collector if you could mention to the troops that if they have time they could send him an email of encouragement or talk Star Wars to him at milakauf@msn.com. All he has in his room is a TV, Lap-top and phone. He is hooked up to the internet and I am sure he would love to hear from them. I am only asking as a favor and I understand if you can't post anything but it would mean a lot. He is a good friend/co-worker and a father of 2 new future Star Wars fans.
Take Care!

Review of Rebel Stand now posted
Hey Troops, check out my latest review of Enemy Lines II: Rebel Stand by Aaron Allston over at the review page. This is book 11 out of 19 for the NJO, so believe it or not, the end is actually coming in sight. This is an excellent chapter in the story of the New Republic struggling versus annihilation at the hands of the Yuuzhan Vong, totally organic invaders from another galaxy bent on destruction. The NJO keeps getting better as each successive author takes the reigns and really gives us a good tale to read. Check out my review here.

Trooper Young George Lucas Reports:
Hey folks. Young George Lucas reporting from Kansas City. The local Wally World received tons and tons of Luke and Vader Bespins and a few Obi-Wan Pilots and Endor Raid Han Solos. These new figures are awesome, but Hasbro is back to their old tricks of shipping new figures with old figures that everyone has and are clogging peg hooks. When are these people going to learn? Retailers won't re-order when they have bunches of figures that are not selling. Knock off this crap, and peg warmers will be a thing of the past!

Trooper Lex-Wan reports:
Hey to all! Lex-wan here with the reports for the Allentown PA area first is the unleashed figs seen them at KB & Kmart both places had crushed cards Iwas only able to pick up 1 Boba & Jango that was in good shape. The Wal-marts in this area all got in the first wave which includes 1 Han Endor 1 Clone trooper Darth Bespin Luke Bespin (no blood silver peg in hand) & a couple other peg warmers the KB's are all getting drop shipments of the 2 Obi pilot, 1 Chewy, & 1 Han Endor but please fear not about Chewy because the next case assortment will have 3 Obi pilot, 3 Chewy, & 3 Han Endor needles to say I have a good feeling that 1 of theses is going to be a peg warmer I'll let the masses guess which one. Oh yea I almost forgot the 2nd Han packaging variation the top of the inner blister is shorter by 3/4's of an inch an the other Han on the left an right top the inner blister comes out to meet the outer blister I should have a picture to post within a day or so. Anyway MTFBWY & have a great day. Lex-wan debalus@att.net
I want to say "thanks" to Lex-Wan for the recent help! You're a stand-up dude! - J.

Trooper Jedichirp Reports:
I just recieved from Dave Dorman the Jabba's Palace print that I bought from him at C2. This guy does wonderful work and hopefully will be able to continue doing his Star Wars artwork. I just thought that I would let everyone know that if you ordered anything at C2 from Mr. Dorman that it looks like he is now getting them out the door to us. He also did a small pencil drawing at the bottom along with his autograph. If you aren't familiar with his work then you should go check it out at his website (Davedorman.com). He has made some great prints over the years.
chad.mcdonald@IWCR.com
Jedichirp is right troops, Dave does some excellent Star Wars work. If you want something of his that's not listed on his website, email him, he might just have what you need. (That's how I got my print) Vaughn and I both have prints from Mr Dorman. He's highly recommended!

Went to K-Mart last night around 9:30 and they had a case of figures on the pallet. I opened it and to my surprise I found a Han Endor Raid! There were 3 Bespin Lukes (no bloody), 2 Vaders, 2 Jangos, 2 Maces, 2 Clonetroopers, and 1 Han Endor. I also ordered the Disney figures a few days ago and when I called yesterday the operator told me that they would fill my order when they arrived in August.

New Novel announced at the Official Site
Hey Troops, the Official Site announced a new novel by Troy Denning called Tatooine Ghost. The novel takes place between ROTJ and the original Timothy Zahn trilogy. This story gives us some confirmation of what was learned at C2. In a question and answer session, a panel of authors was asked if Luke and Leia would learn more about their parents and Troy Denning answered yes, but would give no details. Apparently, Leia is having doubts about having children because of the Skywalker legacy, but something she learns on Tatooine about her father changes her beliefs. I have to admit, the premise of this story has me a little concerned. Denning needs to really approach this story right, or it could end up being junk. Everything we have read in the Star Wars line is that Leia had problems accepting the fact that Darth Vader was her father and could never forgive him for what he did. Leia couldn't view their father the same way as Luke could, as Anakin Skywalker. She recongnized him as Darth Vader, not Anakin. All of a sudden are we going to learn that she softens her feelings in a book that takes place much earlier in the timeline? If not done properly, this book could really stick out like a sore thumb as far as story continuity goes. Let's hope it doesn't. Anyway, click here for more information including a tenative release date.

Then he said if you placed a order yesterday and if they can fill your order than you will receive the items, but it is not garneted and as of today 06/24/02 Monday they received information that the Star Tours figure are no longer for sale over the phone. Hey Troopers, I just read, over at Rebel Scum, that all preorders for the Star Tours Action Figures taken over the past few days were not supposed to be taken. So, they are being canceled and you will be notified by mail or E-mail. The reason they were canceled is that the Star Tours Action Figures are only going to be sold at the parks not on-line or mail order Ect. I am posting this hoping that since Sandtroopers.Com seems to be growing bigger each day with new fans, and their motto is "United We Find" that since we cannot buy then any other way than going to the parks, it would be really great if every Trooper that goes to one of the parks that are selling them gets as many as he or she can for other Troopers who can't get there. Thanks and remember "United We Find".

Hello Troops,
I just got back from FAO Shwartz here in NY where Steve Sansweet did an appearance. Many thanks to my good friend Jeannine for sharing her invite to this very exclusive (It was limited to 100 people) engagement. Also many thanks to her for trading a Jorge Sacul she waited hours in line at C2 to get for a Toy fair vader I waited hours ONline to get!
Steve Sansweet is an awesome one of a kind nice guy. He had a slideshow of his tremendous collection that he keeps in a building in California. Needless to say we were all ooohhing and ahhing over his treasures. He was then good enough to answer questions and sign autographs. The show was well guarded by a contingent of the 501st, and needless to say, everyone was on their best behavior!
FAO was taking Credit Card orders for the Imperial Shuttle, slated for a fall release. No one was sure about the price, but it seems to be going for $150 or so. The also have a nice set of Star Wars themed dolls. These are limited to a run of only 1000 and they consist of three child like dolls dressed as Han, Luke and Leia. The set is selling for $280 and they were also taking advance orders. Give them a call (1-800-876-7867)

Force of the Bay
Trooper Spiceowan here with a late report from the goodies section at E-bay. I'm sorry I didn't get this one out to you when it was up but this Vintage Tusken Raider is worth a peek. Do you have one ? Yeah me neither. I also ran into a slew of carded droids figures from the 80's . Check this, another gem from Cloud City. Hit the view other auctions by this seller to see the rest. Thinking of reaching out with your feelings to use the force ? Well grab your saber and this and see how you do. Do you think you are a tough guy because you got a Target Exclusive Skiff with Luke ? This skiff here will hurt your pocket worse than that Target version. Now I stumbled on this on accident but it appears that this is a flat out Empire Strikes Back authentic prop I almost fell outta my chair. No bidders yet so go on and bid on it all you " Big Roller" Troopers. That is it for now. Good luck out there Troopers, Kick A$% and take names.
Note that these items are not guaranted by E-Bay and most definately by us here at Sandtroopers... So please "Let the Buyer BEWARE"

Trooper Nate Reports:
Quik update from the Portland OR area. Not too much new. Deluxe Amanaman and Leias for 6.99 at most of the KBs (forget that 19.99 some places try to sell for), allthough still no sign of the exclusive red and yellow clone troopers. You can still find some of the inserts at Target, and the FX-7 wave at TRU for 4.99.
I have plenty to trade if any troopers need help finding the following: GW, BF, JF, ST, SBD, KF, and SBD with inserts. I'm looking for Jorg, Vader TF, Dexter w/ insert, and many more.
Also ever since the Sneak Preview EPII figs came out I've seen plenty of coverage of the Zam with 'vLucasfilm', but no mention of the corrected version without the 'v' which I've seen (and have one of). Does anyone have any info on this.

Reviews of Dooku, Yoda and Anakin (Hangar Duel)

Lord Spiceowan and I have been at it again with reviews of some of the stand-out figures released on April 23rd. Why does J. bust on Yoda? Did Hasbro throw us a bone with the basic Dooku character? Why does Lando want to steal Yoda's levitation device accessory? For a look back at the not-so-distant past and answers to these questions, take a look here. You can also view some of the other recent reviews such as the Wave 4 Saga figures (Endor Soldier, Bespin Luke et. al.) by going to our Review Section in the left margin, or click here. Next up for this weekend is a review of Wave 5 Djas Puhr and Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. If anyone has any comments on the reviews, feel free to start a thread in the Forums or email me here at the station! Jason@sandtroopers.com

Trooper California Tim Reports:
Went to one of my local Targets and found deluxe Anakin and more Nexus.Nexi?....Nexou?.... Whatever! When I was checking out both rang up for $7.44, swweeeeeeet. Lots of peg warmers hanging out Zam, Nikto, Jar-Jar (didnt see that one coming), and a ton of Zuttons with a few Eeths in the mix. There were a few Lukes as well but no blood or bbq wrist. I also found one ultimate Jango at KB but they wanted $50.00 for him. Ouch!! Ill wait. Hey if you want to see a photo of the new Yoda deluxe check out Planet Action Figure, hes about half way down the screen. After seeing this, my question for Hasbro is why couldnt they release the super battle droid like the one theyre using for the Yoda deluxe. ?????? Other than what I found today its been dry. First time writing in to you. I LOVE your site. Best site out there for SW. Variation collectors will love this. I do not know if you have already posted something about this. The tube that is attached to Han's belt is either in white or in gray. Found gray today at Wal-mart in Colorado. The entire piece is molded in either of the color so it does not appear to be a missed paint job. I have one set of the variation if anyone is interested to trade for them. Thanks, guys! MTFBWY!!

Trooper TK Reports:
I have an extra toy expo boba fett signed by Jeremy Bullock with his holo picture over the figure picture. It is on a green card and is in near mint condition (I never call anything mint since mint means so many different things to different indivuals), but there are no creases or dings and is in great condition.
I am wondering if there are any troopers out there who would be interested in doing a possible trade for the toy fair vader? maybe perhaps for the Jorg Sacul + more, but I am really wanting the vader.
I also picked up an extra AT-ST out there if anyone is in need of one. Box is in nice shape, has some shelf wear, but overall in excellent shape. Will sell for cost + tax + shipping

Hey troops and troopettes....
everyone that sent in payment for the TRU poster, they will be mailed
Friday.....Also, I found a neat paint variant on a Bespin luke today at wally world...instead of a bloody stump, the stump is black, like it was charred by Vaders saber...anyone else seeing this( it was on the figure with the magnet in the hand). Also, I located a R2-D2 saga with backdrop and the round peg legs, not sure if this is the R3-T7 legs or not...any help on this would be nice...The flat round peg legs were only on the backdrop fig I found, and all other R2's I've seen have the peg that is like a "spoke" and recessed in the leg...which is which??...I'm willing to make a trade for the R2...anyone interested email me...I'm not sure what I would want, I'll do some thinking on it....still no sign of the new Han, Chewie or any above those in Myrtle Beach SC...SUCKS...just a TON of Mace and final Jango ( like 5-10 at each store) and no sign of the new deluxe line either...I'm making a trade list shortly for all to check out....I'll accept trades and buy offers on it all....I'm getting married and my excess figs have got to go...of worthy note, R2w/holo leia, POTJ target skiff( boxed scuffed on front, not bad)Electronic Boba Fett from KB, Watto's Box, much more than this but I'll make the list!! many POTJ figs .. also, if anyone needs an Yoda or Dooku, LMK..I have a couple extras I would trade for figs I'm missing or just cost+shipping.....later!!!

Star Wars in England
Hey Troopers. I managed to score some really cool stuff from England last week. My Father has a good friend over there and he sent all this to my Father to give to me. The magazine called "The Mail" over there has got some really cool stuff in it, lots of interviews with Natalie and Hayden plus pictures of some cut away vehicles and tons of full page color photos from the movie as well as behind the scene type stuff. He also sent me a Star Wars Episode II AOL CD that has some stuff on it to. I wish i could take more pics but Jay has his camera right now! Oh well. Enjoy the pics.

I couldn't agree more
Hey troops, I just read Trooper Darth-Dallas' report and I couldn't agree more with him about the abundance of information given out in the novel. One thing that really stuck out to me that I left out of my review was how much confusion everyone was experiencing trying to figure out what was going on! So if you had a headache trying to figure out why Jango was working both sides of the fence, don't worry, so did Obi-Wan! Read the book, you won't regret it.

Trooper Darth-Dallas Reports:
I found the Chewy wave today at the Target in Coral Springs, Florida and at the Lauderhill Super Target. The Obi Wan figure is nice! I actually bought one to open and must say it's pretty sharp. I wanted to comment on the AOTC novel. I read that baby before I went to see the movie back in April and must say it was awesome. There is just so much more to learn. You get a better insight into how Lucas wanted to tell the story. On film you have a limited amount of time to tell a story. I encourage all who really loved AOTC to read the novel. I promise you won't be disappointed. I know it will cut into your time to see AOTC again and again and you won't be able to brag to your friend who saw it 8 times but you will know the whole story and he won't. Sorry I had to vent! This site is the best. Thanks to the troops who hooked me up with the AOTC cards I was missing.
Take Care!

Review of AOTC novel by R.A. Salvatore now posted
Hey troops, I just finished reading the AOTC novel. I used to read a novel in less than a week, now with the new baby, it takes me about a month to get through one! Simply put, this novel rocked! I loved it. Click here to check out my review. Also, I have posted some Ep 3 speculation at the end of the review. Don't worry, if you want to avoid possible Ep 3 spoilers, I have clearly marked that material. So you can just read the review, or you can continue and read the whole thing. I just started the newest NJO book, Rebel Stand, by Aaron Allston. Look for my review of that one coming soon.

Trooper Jeffred5 Reports:
Hey Troopers, I just need someone to clear up something for me. I have seen in a few magazines a listing for the Rebel Soldier (Endor) with and without a beard. But, in the stores all I can find is the "bearded" one and all the on-line stores do not specify which one the are selling. Are both types currently available? Is the "clean shaven" one a variation or is it limited or what? Any info anyone has that will help clear this up or, if anyone knows where I can go to get this kind of info it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and MTFBWY
Jeffred5@aol.com
The word is that Hasbro will stop the bearded version and pick up on the clean shaven one exactly half way through the run of endor sodliers. When that will happen isnt exactly clear yet, but its supposedly going to. Vaughn saw both versions up close when he went to toyfair so that is a good indication that we will see the shaved one before too terribly long.
Update #2: I think I read something about SEPTEMBER for the 2nd endor trooper. You may want to check out www.4-inches.de. Im pretty sure thats where I saw the date, Jeff. -V

I don't know what my parents were thinking when they bought me them for Christmas. Every other year I always got Star Wars toys but this one year when I was expecting to open up my presents and see my beloved Star Wars Logo All I saw was Master Of The Universe. Oh well I made out pretty good none the less. So I have most of the early figures along with some Vehicals. It's not in the best condition but it's not in the worst either. LMK if your interested. Other wise it's going to e-bay. I am willing to trade or out right sell, I am not a money monger and will try to cut a good deal.

Sandtrooper Brian reports:
"I broke down and took a Star Wars road trip yesterday as the local stores in Valdosta, GA leave much desired for the collector.
Heading north, I stopped in Tifton, GA, where I scored an Endor Raid Han Solo and another Bespin Luke (non-bloody) from Wal-Mart. I already had both versions of Luke, but I had to get this one as he has a blue spot or smudge on his severed hand. I thought this to be really weird as it has no blue paint at all anywhere on the figure. I then stopped at Tifton's K-Mart to score the 12" Ultimate Jango Fett. I promised myself years ago that I would not be interested in the 12" line, but recently find myself buying most of them anyway.
Again, on the road, and again north to Warner-Robbins, GA. Here, I found the Deluxe Nexu and Anakin with slice-n-dice Geonosian at Target. I don't realize what all the hype about this new figure is as it looks pretty cool to me.
Once again, northbound took me to Macon, GA. KB-Toys had two sets of the red and yellow 12" Clone Troopers so I figured I'd take a set off of their hands. A scalper came up to me and asked how much he could get for them on eBay and I told him that there were millions of them out on the market and that he would take a loss. He kinda looked at me funny and walked away. SCORE 1 FOR THE COLLECTORS! There was one set left but you'd better hurry. Then, while walking through the rest of the mall, I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me as JC Pennys had a whole table full of all four Playskool playsets. I already had the X-Wing Adventure and Duel with Darth Maul, but I still needed the Stompin Wampa and Fast through the Forest sets. Whew, thought I was gonna have to result to eBay for these...NOT!!!
Hope this helps someone out there...keep the peace...screw the scalpers!"

Trooper Mark reports:
I am from the St.louis area, and I wanted to give everyone the heads up,today I made a run at my local Wal-Mart stores and discovered some great finds. At the Wal-Mart in South County and in Arnold I found PLENTY of these figures. Bespin Luke, Bespin Vader, Mace Windu, Jango Fett, Qui-Gon, Orn Free Taa, Massif, and Endor Soldier. There were about 50 Lukes combined between the two stores but unfortunately no bloody stumps. so maybe I just saved somebody a few minutes. If anybody does happen to have a bloody stump for trade let me know.

**********NEW virus alert!*****************
Troops,
Be on the lookout for this:
A virus, called Perrun, has been developed that infects picture files such as *.jpg's. It is initially an executable that can arrive as an email attachment, and once in the computer will infect *.jpg files. If the picture files are emailed, the infection goes with them. This gives the virus the ability to package the executable and infection (the actual malicious effect such as file damage or unexpected graphics) in an infected file, although it appears that it has not been developed that far yet...
VERIFY JPG files from the people who are sending them to you BEFORE you open them and PLEASE update your antivirus software!!! Who develops these viruses....ANITVIRUS software companies??? I would hate to think that some people are so VILE that they just sit around and come up with ways to screw everyone over (even though they don't know them).... This is messed up....Be careful troops.
UPDATE
A new computer virus, Perrun, is the first ever to infect picture files, anti-virus firm McAfee warns. The virus is not currently infecting computers but worries anti-virus experts because it is the first to cross from program infection into data files. Until now, viruses infected program files: files that can be run on their own, Ananova reported. Data files, like movies, music, text and pictures, were safe from infection, McAfee said. While earlier viruses deleted or modified data files, Perrun is the first to infect those.Perrun still needs some tweaking to become dangerous. The virus arrives via email or a floppy disk as an executable file....

Hello Everyone, It has come to my attention that someone has been ripping off fellow troopers with bad trading habits!!! Well, it seems this young fellow has picked the wrong site to prey upon!! As some of you may know, I am a Detective with the Sheriffs Office here in Baton Rouge. I am assigned to the Financial Crimes/Computer Crimes Division. I intend on finding out who this person is and doing everything in my power by using every resorce available to me to see that whoever got stiffed by this person, gets their money/toys back. If you are one of the unfortunate ones who go taken by the person living at the above address, please email me with as much information about the trade/sale that you have. I will need copies of all saved emails between you and the amount you lost. Also, I need everyone who got taken to file a police report with your local authorities and send the file number/report number to me also along with the officers name and the phone number to your Police/Sheriffs Office, which ever you use to file the report. I need this as soon as you can get it, this may be a lengthy process since most of my work will be through other agencies. We need to let people know they cannot get away with these type of practices here at Sandtroopers so lets not just "let it go"!!! I want this little creep to pay for what he/she has done, if not to pay you guys back then get him/her prosecuted!! Minimum age for prosecution in New Jersey is 7 and we think this kid is a teenager. Let me know Troops..PUT ME TO WORK FOR YOU!! Email me Here

Updates all around...
Hey Troops,
I was busy tonight updating a few areas of the site. First, Ive been working on reorganizing our image pages...(sith channel 1 or ST_images.htm) You'll notice a few new pages, if you havent looked lately. First, I've been working on a small feature on the "exclusives" since we've seen a few really good ones recently. Check them out at special_figs.htm. Also I've updated the EP2 LEGO page (sith channel 4 or EP2LEGO.htm) with images of Jango Fett's Slave I and the Republic Gunship. They are both great sets, but they're very FRAGILE. Below are a few samples of whats new!

At the West Jordan Walmart in Utah, there were about 50 of each Saga carded figure. This included 50 Lukes, 50 Darth Vaders, 50 Jango's, and 50 Mace Windu's. None were variations, but if you don't have any of these, they are going to become peg warmers there. PS, still lookin for Sacul. Thanks.

On my way home from work this evening, I decided to pull off the highway and check the local KB Toys in Newton, Massachusetts. Not expecting to find anything, I strolled in over to the AOTC display. hey troops,
cplhritz here and I have absolutely nothing to report from NW Indiana,I haven't seen anything new since 4-23-02, went to a local toysrus and asked a clerk if they have any new figs. and he said they cant put anything new on the shelf 'til the old stuff sells first,no exceptions, I thought I was a paying customer, thanks for nothing, My job took me up to Wisconsin Rapids for a few days and things are dry there, at the Super Wal-mart,they did have 2 bombers,3 speeders and about 10 12'' Luke w/ yoda all for $29 bucks. If you don't mind I'd like to put my two cents worth in about EPII and EPIII, I thought II was just as good as any of the other movies I loved it,and I don't think that III will be able to bring the whole story to a close, to much has to happen, and be able to make sense. Last year at a convention I met David Prowse and he was barley able to stand,I think its time to pass on the helmet. thanks troops MTFBWY

Trooper bed6000 reports:
Hello Everyone
trooper bed6000 here in the lonely Maryland town of Frederick. I am just thanking whoever it was that said Kohl's is a goldmine for hard to find stuff. Found a nexu and deluxe Anakin and a Fianl Battle jango. Frederick does not get much it seems.
About Lucas and directing, i was watching the first film (ANH) and it was the 1995 version without all the special stuff. In an interview at the beginning he said he would probably only direct the first in the new trilogy to "set the tone." Interesting that he is now two[thords in and has directed both. I agree he needs to hand over the reigns to someone else to get the best of the story told. Sometimes the vision of another ccan help clarify our own. Still, that Yoda seen kicks butt.
Thanks for all your help and if anyone knows if their are tie bombers close to frederick, drop me a line. thanks

This site has tons of coupon codes throughout different stores. I’m particularly fond of the Amazon.com link for the coupon codes. This month, save $5 on any $35 order by typing CHNKBKAMZNLT and $5 on any $40 order by typing SAVESAVESAVE. I’ve found that in the past these coupon codes were “stackable” meaning that if you were to spend the $40, you could use both codes and save $10 on the deal. Just though I’d let you guys in on my little secret.

Trooper YGL reports:
Hey, folks. I am responding to what Trooper Roberto wrote earlier. I think "Episode III" has a lot of ground to cover, and will be difficult to pull off. However, Lucas rebounded after "Phantom Menace" with a better film- and I think the final film will be interesting, but it may be different than we all think. As far as storytelling, Lucas has always used a kind of "shorthand"- if you will. "Attack of the Clones" continues this type of storytelling. For an example of this writing style, take Luke's training as a Jedi in "Empire": all we really saw was Luke running, jumping and levitating stones as Yoda urged him to "feel the Force". The most important element of this part of his training was when Luke entered "the cave"- and faced his greatest fear- the man who "killed" his father. Luke did not listen to Yoda, and took his weapon with him- he was indeed "afraid" after all.
My point is that Lucas paints his picture with broad strokes- it is a fairy tale- and in that context this type of storytelling works. Anyhoo, I was very impressed with "Attack of the Clones"- and can't wait to see what Uncle George has in store for us with "Episode III" in '05. We do know that no matter what else is (or isn't) in "Episode III", we'll get to see what a lot of us have waited decades for: the epic, legendary duel between Obi-Wan and Anakin. Have a better one.

In response to trooper Roberto..
Roberto brings up a ton of good points in his post (just below). I agree with quite a bit of it. I think Lucas frikked up with where he started TPM. He has made the story so open that (in my opinion) he would need 6 movies to get everything told in a logical manner BEFORE getting to ANH! I'm thinking Episode 1, Episode 1.5, Episode 2, Episode 2.5, ect...and so on.
In Episode 3 (the LAST Star Wars film we will get), he has to finish with Anakins tranformation to the dark side, have him become Vader, fight the Clone Wars, have Padme' pregnant and give birth to Luke and Leia, have Luke and Leia sent off to their respective homes, fast forward and explain Princess Leia coming to power (showing Alderaan with more of Bail Organna), Show how Luke comes to live with Owen Lars, explain the fall of the republic and show Yoda's retreat back home to Dagobah, Erase C-3PO and R2's memory, show what happens to Mace Windu and the other Jedi (I assume from ANH they ALL die, except for Yoda). I KNOW I am missing a ton of stuff, but this is all I can think of now...
HOW CAN ALL THIS BE EXPLAINED IN ONE FILM????? Impossible to do this and make a good film. To be honest, I think E3 will be rushed storywise and we will be left with too many unanswered questions. Anyone agree??? anyone disagree?????

Trooper Roberto Reports:
After seeing AOTC, I promised myself to see it again before making my own personal rank of this new film within the saga. In a previous post, a trooper wondered how come Episode II wasn't pulling better numbers at the box office. As good as the numbers are (256 million so far), it's almost certain at this point that AOTC will not catch up with Spiderman, which is regretabble because each previous Star Wars episode won the top grosser title of their release year.
Much of it is due to the bad impression Episode I caused in 99. I moderately liked it and somehow AOTC made me like TPM even more, but the general opinion was too hard on both Lucas and the film. It's clear AOTC is an improvement over TPM, yet with effect ladden films as the Matrix and Lord of the Rings (nominated for best picture) being so good and outclassing Lucas at his own game, AOTC needed to be better than what it turned out to be. The impressions I got from AOTC are similar to those I got from TPM...it was either filmed in a hurry, or that Lucas thinks people will not like a three hour long film and passes on chances to bring up fascinating aspects of the Star Wars universe that fans surely know about, yet are not mentioned in the film. If there is a three hour long film I could enjoy, it's definitely Star Wars.
It's amazing how time flies and now all Lucas has left for a shot at supremacy for this trilogy is Episode III. With so much of the untold story left for one final chapter and the need for mixing it all into a phenomenally great film, I believe Lucas will have to step down and pass the torch to another director in order to pull it off. Irvin Kershner is not the greatest director, but ESB is still (convincently) the best film of the saga. I personally rank AOTC third, closely behind ANH. Lucas is probably the greatest movie sci-fi visionary hollywood will ever see, but I no longer believe he has what it takes to direct what should become the greatest episode of the entire saga.
I hope I don't get cyber rocks thrown my way because of what I think, because I know many think this is the greatest episode of the saga. My opinion alone is also irrelevant to the man behind his movie. Star Wars is after all his fable and only he can convince himself of considering the opinions of others. Yet if box office numbers don't measure up to the other episodes, he should consider looking over his shoulder for a change.
Getting into toy collecting, retailers in PR don't seem to get past stocking the Bespin wave, yet any Luke variation is hard to find. Furthermore, TRU is re-stocking early wave figures (now w/out inserts), surely to fit demand for the movie fever kids. At least, I haven't ran into any figure of newer waves yet. Not even the Qui-Gon wave. All for now, best happy hunting wishes to all!!!

Trooper Jeffred5 Reports:
Hey Troopers, I have seen several pictures of two different Endor Rebel Soldiers. The main difference is that one has a beard and one doesn't. So far I have only seen the one with a beard in stores. Has anyone else seen the other version in stores or does anyone have any info on the other version? Thanks and MTFBWY,

Trooper DavidGQ Reports:
I want to let you know that this site has given me a great pleasure of knowing a fellow trooper, Shawn Fitzgerald from Atlanta, TX. Back in the days when POTJ figures first came out and were hard to find, Shawn has graciously sent me the figures at cost!!! But when I was laid off last year, I lost all of his contacts. When I asked for help in obtaining an autograph from Mr. Morrison(Jango) back in May, Shawn has graciously offered to get one for me without realizing who I am. Shawn has shown me what a true sandtrooper should be and I have followed his footsteps since then in helping other collectors!!! A great Sandtrooper and friend!!!!

I live in Southern California (specifically the Hemet, Riverside, Temecula, Murrieta, San Bernardino vicinity) and have been looking for Bespin Vader, Bespin Luke, Djas Puhr, and the Endor Rebel Soldier for some time. Can anybody give me a heads up, leads, or any info on where these figures have been sighted recently in the region so I can start an intensive figure hunt.

Trooper Young George Lucas Reports:
Hey, folks. I must say that the 12" figure line from Hasbro has been hit (Luke Hoth) and miss ("furry" Chewbacca). I must say that they have done of the best (if not the best) yet with the release of the Deluxe 12" Jango Fett! Kids, this thing is awesome! I have the Marmit "STAR WARS" figures from Japan, and this thing is of that quality (for 1/3 of the price). Kudos to the boys at Hasbro for this awesome figure!

Force of the Bay
Trooper Spiceowan here again to show you some more of the wonderful gems that are available to us via E-Bay. Please let me again mention that these items are not sanctioned by Sandtroopers or E-Bay. Here is what is on the plate today: Hot multi-packs !! Enjoy
Japanese cantina pack Didn't see this one at my local TRU
Vintage IG-88 Not a multi-pack but hunted by many.
Vintage ROTJ 2 pack Here's a good way to drop big loot on figures you probably own.
12 back Luke The condition is what puts this one over the top.
Bespin world multi-pack Cloud City will show you things you never knew existed.
That is all for now. Two of the listings are from Cloud City and I can tell you first hand (after seeing the vintage muesuem at Celebration 2) these guys are not to be taken lightly. These guys are kinda like Batman they have everything you could possibly imagine if it pertains to Vintage boxed/carded collectibles.

Dave Prowse is Darth Vader...AGAIN!
I have a strong confirmation that David Prowse will be playing Darth Vader in Episode 3. I'm not sure how he will pull this off, being near death less than a year ago and multiple hip replacements. Non-the-less he is slated for the role at this point. Also, he is now a few inches shorter than when he last donned the costume in ROTJ. Logically, he will not do much in the costume and will probably have very little screen time......Cool all the same. James Earl Jones is signed on for at least 3 minutes of dialogue as well.....WooHoo!

****IMPORTANT READ****
Troops,
I have gotten numerous e-mails from some troops (some that were pretty hostile) about getting viruses sent from the Sandtroopers.com staff. I ASSURE you that we are NOT sending them! We are NOT using fully functional POP e-mail accounts at this time and for you to get e-mails from
"ANY STAFF MEMBER NAME HERE"@sandtroopers.com
is currently impossible. The KLEZ virus is doing this on it's own based on e-mail address book's that people you know (or even yourself) have set up. For example: If they have darthcrypt@sandtroopers.com in their address book, it will pick up that address as the sender and send the virus to another address from that book. Last night I got a virus from myself and I have never OPENED OR HAVE BEEN INFECTED BY THIS VIRUS ever. NO ONE from Sandtroopers is sending this virus out. I strongly suggest that you go to this site and get educated on this PAIN IN THE ACE virus as well as how to remove it:
KLEZ REMOVAL HERE!
Again: asking us to stop this is IMPOSSIBLE. It has NOTHING to do with Sandtroopers.com or any of it's staff. Thanks for understanding...

Japanese Star Wars
Not sure what these items are, but if you can read Japanese...maybe you could tell us!

Sir Tan
UPDATE
"The item you posted on your web site is a product called Xylish. The website http://www.jlist.com says that it is, "A delicious new tablet-style gum from Japan, this is Xylish gum with Xylitol in it. This is a very delicious mint gum that's candy-coated, in foil-wrapped pieces similar to Clorets." Doing a little research I found out what Xylitol is, on the website http://www.xylitol.org they say, "Pure xylitol is a white crystalline substance that looks and tastes like sugar. On food labels, xylitol is classified broadly as a carbohydrate and more narrowly as a polyol. Because xylitol is only slowly absorbed and partially utilized, a reduced calorie claim is allowed: 2.4 calories per gram or 40% less than other carbohydrates. Xylitol has been used in foods since the 1960's. It is a popular sweetener for the diabetic diet in some countries. In the U.S., xylitol is approved as a food additive in unlimited quantity for foods with special dietary purposes. Over 25 years of testing in widely different conditions confirm that xylitol is the best sweetener for teeth. Xylitol use reduces tooth decay rates both in high-risk groups (high caries prevalence, poor nutrition, and poor oral hygiene) and in low risk groups (low caries incidence using all current prevention recommendations). Sugarfree chewing gums and candies made with xylitol as the principal sweetener have already received official endorsements from six national dental associations."
Hope this helps..."

Answer for JIMSJEDI and all our readers:
This goes for trooper JIMSJEDI and all our readers, regarding the Hamilton Collection Plates, they are no longer producing them; These collectibles are usually advertised @ Their Site or in the Parade section of the Sunday's local newspaper. They are very tight with the release of them available as a 28 ''FIRING'' days, meaning if you don't order you'll miss it; They all come with COA and is a very big shame that they aren't making them at this moment, I own a few of them being my favorite ''The Millenium Falcon'' If my memory doesn't fail the original airbrushed plate from ''The Tie-Fighters'' was sold by the artist over Ebay and the auction closed for near $4,000.00.

Fan Club Stormtroopers
Hey Troops,
I ordered my stormtrooper army of 20 from the fan club last monday and received them on thursday. Here's what you get if you havent ordered them already... Two troopers with rifle and two troopers with blaster per 4 pack. The figures arrive bagged with their weapons in a plain white box. There is no "battle damage" feature, nor is there a commtech chip...just the plain figures, albeit the BEST sculpt that we've seen. Here are a few pictures:

Trooper Young George Lucas Reports:
Hey, folks. Not much new in Kansas City- I'm still looking for the new KB Clonetroopers and the Acklay here- but at the TR'U in Overland Park, KS they had tons of Dooku and Yoda. I haven't heard for sure, but is it possible Hasbro is shipping a special case of these two figures? If they are- they're about a month and a half late in doing so. Also, I'm not really sure why "Episode II" is faltering at the box-office. Granted it's not a flop, but it's fallen off much more than "Episode I" did after a few weeks. Everyone I know that saw it- loved it. Even the people that thought "Phantom Menace" sucked thought "Attack of the Clones" was awesome.
I've seen it 5 times and am going again this week. I liked "Spidey", but thought "Episode II" was far superior and more entertaining. The scene of Yoda displaying that he was indeed a "great warrior" is now the stuff of legends- and while the movie has a few small (very small) problems- it's an amazing movie and has the same spirit as the Classic Trilogy. It gets better every time I see it- and I can't wait to see it again.

Daily Custom Updates 2002 by Dan Curto and The Custom Alliance:
A brand-new Star Wars custom each and every day? That's what I'm delivering throughout the month of June.
After a bit of a delay, I'm off and running with the 4th annual "Daily Custom Updates!" The DCU 2002 will run from now until July, with customs inspired from all over the Star Wars universe. Characters from the films, the comics, the video games, and even a few fan-fiction ones thrown in...the more obscure, the better!
In July, the spotlight will shift to other customizers who have "Joined the Alliance" as they debut their latest creations throughout that month. So if you've got a new custom that you want to show off, be sure to send it in!
There will be other new additions throughout the summer, so be sure to check back often to see the latest features at "The Largest Online Gallery of Star Wars Customs!
