The long holiday weekend added $70 million to the outstanding total of over $271 million in just a few days shy of 2 weeks since it's debut. The runners up were "Madigascar", and "The Longest Yard" with a respectable $60 million each. Overall, ticket sales have actually dropped for ROTS by 42%, but a 20th Century Fox executive says "It's a relatively small decline considering that blockbuster debuts often are followed by audience erosion of 50% to 60%. When you get that many people in on the first weekend, you almost have to fall that much." I can say that I have seen this movie 3 times and plan another viewing in the near future. It's great to actually look for all of the easter eggs. Check out the many areas at USAtoday.com from all of the ROTS coverage, to a Lucasfilm Q+A, to a write up from Celebration III. Now is the best time to be a fan of Star Wars. It's great seeing this movie come full circle with the original trilogy. |

“Troops, I went out and did the Knight Rider run yesterday, traversing north to Racine, WI and back down to Waukegan, IL. Target, K-Mart, and Toys R Us in Racine all came up empty, as well as Super Wal-Mart in Sturtevant. If I was in a bad mood by then, I was at least feeling crabby by the time I returned to home base, finding nada at Zion K-Mart, but the Wave 3 Deluxe Spider Droid and Crab Droid at Waukegan Target. Hoping to find more deluxe today on the lunch runs south of Chicago. Thanks to Sandtroopette Donna and Trooper Tucson for the recent communications and mailings regarding the BK Vaders. I've filed all the requests and still have more to go around, so let me know! As much as some folks may not want to eat at BK, people are winning the bigger prizes in the Star Wars promo (I handed out a cell phone Friday night). So if a Troop wins the Lincoln Navigator, he or she could equip it with anti-scalper armaments and a custom front end push/pursuit beam to execute a push into the corner of a scalper's car to force it into a spin, thus disorienting fleeing scalpers and disabling their vehicles! Whatever your method of scalper reprisal, begin today!”jason.meyers@gm.com |

"Greetings Troops! Located the Tarkin wave at Wal-Mart, and some scalper scum folded the tops of the cards over. This was obviously intentional. Hey scalper scum! If you can't buy it, leave it alone! We deserve to be able to buy toys that aren't damaged intentionally! Anyway, managed to get a Tarkin and an Ask Aak that were hiding on the bottom shelf. ALSO- I need a Lava Vader. Can anyone help me? I have an Ephant Mon to trade, or I'd pay a fair price. Let me know! I wasn't able to get one. Our Targets sold out the first 30 seconds!"sithryan@msn.com |

The Team at Sandtroopers.com would like to wish all of the real Troopers and Veterans out there a Happy Memorial Day. We’d like to send a very special Thank You for those who are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan fighting the war on terror. We express our sorrow and condolences for the families who have lost loved ones in the battle to preserve our freedom. God Bless the Troops, United We Stand. United We Find. |
“Just thought I would let everyone know that I have 3 extra "vanilla" flavored Wookiee Warriors, 2 Destroyer Droids and an AT-TE Gunner for anyone who needs these. All in C-9.5+ condition. I also have a Vader on operating table in pretty good condition about a C-9+. If anyone is interested, drop me a line and maybe we can work out a sale or trade. I am looking for #45 and up as well as the deluxe wave 3. Keepin' it real in the I.E.”chicanodom@msn.com |
"I'm not too sure what catagory this falls under. People are making illegal copies of Episode III with the work print time coded version. In Toronto they are selling one with the Russian text scroll DVD quality for $7 without the time codes. Somebody out there is gonna get in big Bantha poo-doo!!"jtuttle@sympatico.ca |
"Hi guys! Big Mike Hodge here with a report from Cincinnati. Nothing new at Wal-Mart or Toys 'R Us but Target did get in the new wave 3 deluxe figures. I picked up the all white Clone Trooper 3-packs and a Stass Allie pack. If you find them make sure you check the paint job on Stass Allie, because two of the three they had at Western Hills had crazy eyes and sloppy paint on their heads. Another guy and myself were there before a local traders world scalper came back. We had all the new stuff in our hands so he couldn't get anything. Keep up the fight and don't let the scalpers win. That's all for now. Big Mike Hodge out." |

“DarthPharaoh checking in. Just completed my 3rd trade thanks to this site. Kudos to Jedimaster-C in Bama! This site has the greatest collectors anywhere. Just had to say that. When I first found this little niche of cyberspace I had my doubts (thought, ebay in disguise), but you all are the best and I’m proud to be a Sandtrooper! On the collecting side, I’ve been able to army build SA Clones thanks to Target. They seem to be the only ones stocking more than 1 at a time around here. Otherwise not much to report, Toys R Us here doesn’t seem to realize there’s figures above # 32 and Wal-Mart is hit or miss. But I head to Vegas tomorrow and if my leaving Atlanta luck holds up I should come back broke thanks to the tables, but with some of the June 1st items in my bags. United We Find and, as regulars know by now...death to all scalpers!”BreathofHorus@aol.com |
![]() | Action-HQ has Star Wars Episode III new waves shipping this week. Revenge of the Sith is now upon us. The epic battle on Mustafar between Anakin and Obi-wan leaves fantasy diorama and displays that can only be fulfilled with action figures! Check out battle damaged Anakin, new sounds & lights R2-D2 and Commander Bacara. Also this week Transformers, Spiderman, Macross and much more. |

Hey troops. This morning I was out and made a stop into Wal-Mart (Greenwood, IN.) As I looked over the many brown Wookiees, Destroyer Droids, Clone Troopers, Neimodian Warriors, and more I found hidden among them #45 Tarkin, #46 AskAak, and #47 Meena Tills. I picked up one of each. It looked as Wal-Mart only stocked two cases with the new figures since there were two of each. Also, the Hasbro Rep was there and I talked to her as usual. If you want a Darth Tater you better pick it up real soon. He is going to be replaced with Spud Trooper this fall. |
“Troops, I grabbed my deadly Sandtroopers shovel to crush stone and scalpers' skulls as I entered the Quarry Shopping Center in LaGrange, IL (Hodgkins/Countryside). I didn't need it however, because I was able to use my bare hands to easily dig a gaping hole into the wall of figures greeting me, bristling with army builders and other newer figures at the plaza's Wal-Mart. No. 41 Clone Troopers, AT-TE Gunners, Clone Commanders, blue Royal Guards, brown Vulture droid, and the corrected Anakin with Dooku saber (reported by both Pat and Tim and Amy) were all there. No sign of the speeder bike with Jedi yet. I want to thank the Troops who have requested a BK Vader, and let you all know that if you need one to just let me know. Thanks also to Jimmy Barrera who works down the hall from me in the Fuel Injectors dept., who brought me the red Royal Guard I was looking for to complete my collection. Truly, United We Find!”jason.meyers@gm.com |

“I have 2 extra Star Wars Episode 3 Keebler displays from work I saved them from the compactor/Scalpers, they have 5 shelves are made of cardboard, and on one side has C3PO and R2D2 and the other Vader and Yoda now I'll tell you ahead of time these were store used and have some scuffs, but nothing really wrong. The first 2 MN troopers to shoot me an e-mail can have one each. My only request is you come and pick it up as shipping these would cost a bundle and they are fairly large. (Which is why, sadly, I can't really offer them to other Troopers, unless you want a long drive) Looking forward to hearing from you!”The_Devils_Ewok@comcast.net |

From Master Replicas: "Size matters not... unless we’re talking about edition size that is. That’s right on May 26, exactly one week after the release of Star Wars: Episode III, we will stop taking orders on Yoda’s Revenge of the Sith Limited Edition Lightsaber. Then in approximately two weeks we will be announcing the final edition size for the LE. On that date, the edition size will be frozen in carbonite, locked away forever. And if you thought the diminutive Jedi Master’s saber saw some action in Attack of the Clones, well, after Revenge of the Sith, you’ll definitely want to add his weapon to your collection. So before Master Yoda disappears into the misty world of Dagobah, be sure to get YOUR Yoda Limited Edition Lightsaber NOW. Once it’s gone, it will be lost forever to the murky swamps of the secondary market at prices so high, you could almost buy your own ship for them."Head on over to the Master Replicas website to order yourself one of these! |
“Troops, East Central Wisconsin reporting in: First of all ROTS gets better every time I see it. Favorite moment: when the Emperor's "little green friend" (and I ain't talkin' 'bout Kermit) dispatches two royal guards with barely a flick of the hand. Guess it is easy being green. Anyway, picked up two AT-TE gunners as well as 12" Shaak-Ti and 12" Bariss Offee at Wal-Mart. They also had both flavors of Wookiee Warriors and all figs through #44, which I already had. At Target recently, picked up Vulture droid vehicle (brown). Just need Stass Allie on bike to get caught up. And Hey, where was Mon Momtha and Shaak-Ti? Time to carry out order 67 (kill all scalpers).”dsollitto@new.rr.com |
Fellow staff member Sandtrooper Dan made the news up in Wausau, Wisconsin, and was labeled as being a proud Star Wars geek by the Wausau Daily Herald. Now we all know that Dan isn't a geek by any means, but we do know that he's one of the best Star Wars diorama builders out there. We're proud to hear him making the news so please read the full article here, and feel free to congratulate him in the forums. |
It shouldn't be a surprise to most people, but Revenge of the Sith broke many new records over the weekend. It broke the single-day record by selling $50 million on Thursday, and it sold approximately $158 million during the first four days (Thursday through Sunday). That is an incredibly huge amount of money! Check out the different stories written about the successful opening weekend of ROTS below, and don't forget to share your opinions of the movie here. |

“Good to be back in the Loop - we have checked out many Wal-Mart and Targets from St. Louis to Pryor, OK (no kidding). We managed to pick up #41 and 42 in Pittsburgh, KS (only ones they had of 41-44) and we found #43 in Miami, OK. Still lacking 44, but we have faith we'll find it soon. Saw ROTS at midnight in Pittsburgh, KS, and even there all 3 screens were sold out (a town with a pop. of about 20,000 plus surrounding rural areas) - awesome. We wanted to see it again on vacation, but with only 2 local theatres, everything was sold out. I have a question about the Anakin with Dooku Saber: Has it ever been determined which figure (hand with red saber or Dooku saber) is the variant? We have one of each, but we find the hand figures everywhere and have only seen the Dooku saber version once (when we bought it). Sorry if this is old news, we just didn't remember seeing it anywhere. We are also still in need of a blue saber Palpatine if anyone has one to trade. Also found all 4 of the wave 2 deluxe figures - we passed on the Vulture Droid, but picked up Yoda on the bug, Vader on the table, and the Clone Trooper. Got them all at a Wal-Mart in Joplin, MO. We saw Yoda at 2 stores we visited, the Trooper and Vulture Droid in several stores, and the only Vader was the one we bought. Also picked up another Target Clone in Joplin, MO (they had about 9-10). I like the Galactic Heroes line and it seems Wal-Mart stores all over have stumbled across some old cases - we picked up 2 packs of 4-LOM/Bossk and Jawa/Tusken Raider (St. James, MO), and Han/Leia and Luke/R2D2 (Joplin, MO). We also found the new releases of Kit Fisto/Mace Windu, Chewbacca/Clone Trooper, and Super Battle Droid/R2D2 at the Lebanon, MO store. In Pryor, OK we found the Playskool X-wing on clearance for $12.50 (instead of $20). We also found a second Playskool Swamp-Stompin' Yoda in Lebanon, MO and an extra Darth Tater in Pryor, OK. Miami, OK was good for a couple of older figs too - Cantina Encounter Dannik Jerriko and OTC Leia (we passed on a couple of other Cantina Encounter figs), as well as an extra AT-TE Gunner and Red Royal Guard. My favorite find of the trip though was in St. James, MO, where we picked up an Obi-Wan Unleashed figure from 2004 (same wave as Slave Leia and Jedi Luke). Thanks for bearing with our long update - it’s been a great vacation, but its good to be back!” ajh88@sbcglobal.net |
In a single day Revenge of the Sith made history toppling the mark previously set by Spiderman 2 for the most ticket sales in a day. It was no surprise people were more interested in how Darth Vader came to be vs. the bare-chested potbellied Doc Ock! I’m sure Revenge of the Sith will continue to set many records, to check out the entire story visit here. |
“Hey guys, Big Mike Hodge here in Cincinnati with a store report. Wal-Mart in western hills had the chocolate Wookiee warrior 1 #41 clone trooper and a bunch of the rest of the figures from that wave. Toys R Us had nothing but the exclusive Anakin Starfighter. Target was pretty much the same as Wal-Mart. I did find 3 of the Vulture Droid in the tan color at the Biggs in Harrison so there is a variation on this figure. That’s it for this store report. I will keep checking and if you haven’t seen RotS, what are you waiting for?”jwells26@cinci.rr.com |
"Today on my way home from a late night outing with some friends I made a quick stop into Meijers. While walking to the toys section I noticed hanging near an end cap the first five of the Star Wars Mpire Christmas ornaments. The first wave includes Chewbacca, R2-D2, C-3P0, Darth Vader, and Clone Trooper. The price is $4.99 each. When I got to the toys section I saw the Barc Speeder with the extra pack-in Wookiee. This is $14.99. Check out your local Meijer's store."david@sandtroopers.com |
“DarthPharaoh here north of Atlanta and I want to give a huge shout to Ron for the trade and with the Blue Saber Palpatine. I now am current on the ROTS figures. Good thing too because right now the stores are pretty stale around here. Nothing new nothing exciting anywhere other than 2 Target Clones I picked up the other day for trading purposes. So if anyone needs 1 let me know, I still need plenty of Saga and POTJ figures if you have any of that to trade, otherwise Sith was amazing, Lucas goes out in serious style. I’ll still have to see it a couple more times though to decide where it is in my order of preference, though there’s a good chance it may be my favorite!! I’m out, and remember.... Death to all scalpers!”BreathofHorus@aol.com |

Staff member Boba Binks has updated his visual guide of Anakin Skywalker's Jedi Starfigther, where the original review was just the yellow version of his ship, but this new addition includes the Toys 'R Us exclusive green version. The images of this new toy is stunning and eye catching, and if you haven't picked this up you might want to order yourself one at ToysRUs.com. Thanks for the update Boba Binks! |
“Well, it has been a hot few days out here in So Cal and more heat is on the way. They say it may reach 100 this weekend. Anyways, enough about the weather. I made a stop this morning at my local Murrieta Wal-Mart and I was surprised to see the shelves stocked with all new figures. They had all 4 deluxe wave 2 figures as well as plenty of 41-44, including a half dozen or so AT-TE Tank Gunners, which by the way is the first time I have seen this figure. Glad to say that I am all caught up now. Just waiting on the newest Unleashed figures. I also grabbed the Anakin Starfighter from Toys R Us on Tuesday. Guess we are finally starting to see results out here.”chicanodom@msn.com |
“Well Troops. It has begun. the last hurrah for our beloved series. I was in my local theater on Wednesday night and enjoyed almost every minute of the new film. I am ready to view it a few more times and really pick out the details soak up the experience. Although none will ever be as good as the first showing. Those are always the best with all the great fans. Enjoy this while it lasts. Now for store reporting:Target: Best place for any basic figs over #3. Have found #41-44 several times here lately. Nice to see. Only the #43 Vanilla Wookiees so far. No more Target Clones since their first case a few weeks back. Also they have been great w/ the deluxe line. Found wave 3 there just yesterday. This morning...the pegs were filled up w/ new stock of #36-#40. Lots of AT-TE Gunners and the like. Good to take advantage of the $4.99 sale. TRU: Well not much has changed there since April 2. They do have quite a few of the TRU Exclusive Anakin Starfighters. But they have the same basic figures since day one. Also they have some of the battle arenas. (Only place in my area that has them.) But they have lots and lots of stock; it’s just all not on the cutting edge of "new". But at this point nothing is really "old" product. Only a few days left for the 20% off coupons. Granted my store won't take it, but if yours does.... go get stuff. Wal-Mart 1 & 2: Good for all basic figures up to #40. Not much on the large-scale vehicles at either. A few ARC-170 and no gunships. But they have a lot of product out also. One WM has nearly a 1000 (no kidding) of the Titanium series. Lots of shelf space for those guys. But they are not as good at putting out "new" items as my Target. They just have too much on the shelves right now. Overload in only the way WM can. So things are pretty stable here. Lots of stuff all over. The plastic Empire is in full force. Good luck to all. Enjoy the movie and our entire grand finale. And as always Hunt'em down, Troops.” swfan_bcs@hotmail.com |

“I hope my fellow Troops had an AWESOME night like I did. My sidekick Bobby "The Rabid Rancor" Lopez and I went to Burger King before we got in line, I was able to catch up on my SW kids meal toys, and the woman asked if I had found a Vader yet, I told him a friend found me one (Thanks Dead Hero) but Bobby hadn't, so she handed him one and smiled. Bobby almost needed a change of shorts. We got in line around 3pm (#3 and #4 bay-bee!) Met a TON of cool people, a husband and his 9 month pregnant wife who prayed the baby would hold un till 5/20, and the crew behind us had the SW trivial pursuit game (after a while I think they hated me, a half hour of right answers I finally fudged an answer so we could move on to other players) the staff at Arbor Lakes 16 was cool and came and took orders for food so we wouldn't have to leave the line, and they waved the "No outside food" rule (we actually at Famous Daves Devils Spit burgers IN the theater) We were seated around 6pm around 7. Bobby saved our seats and we drove up to the Wal-Mart, much to my army building happiness they had 5 #41 SA Clones and 2 #6 Clones. I GAVE (take that scalper scum!) 2 to Bobby. Upon seeing the #41's one of the above mentioned theater employees saw the Clones and told us it was the last one he needed to finish his collection (for now) I took him out to my car and sold him one at cost, and told him in the future to check out Sandtroopers.com and our Anti-Scalping rules, hope to see him here soon. As we waited people had Lightsaber wars at the front of the theater to the cheers of the audience. In the group were several Master Replica F/X Lightsabers, my wife commented on how nice they looked as she had never seen anything but the plastic Hasbro. I told her they sold them at Borders and Best Buy and they were very cool but expensive. My wife left for popcorn, an hour passed, and she comes back to our seats and hands me. A Master Replicas F/X Darth Vader Lightsaber, she saw how impressed I was with them and went to the Borders down the street and bought me one, thus securing her Best Wife on the Planet status. I'll keep it short on the film, it was so cool, I forgot to breathe several times. Can't wait to see it again, and again, and again, and again.” The_Devils_Ewok@comcast.net |

“Hey Troops, I keep hearing about reports of what people find at Walmart, Target and Toys r us, but don't forget to give Kmart a check every now and then. Here in Sumter SC, Kmart had the entire new wave of deluxe figs, 12-inch Grievious's, plenty of deformed figs, lots of Red Guards and althought they didn't have any figs past #36 I did pick up 2 Blue saber Palpatine's. Which I'd be willing to trade one for a #43 Wookie warrior (brown version). Also the prices are a bit higher at Kmart, but basic figures are on sale for 5.44 this week and 10% off all other star wars figures. So it's definitely worth stopping and checking Kmart on those toy runs still.”parkay999@yahoo.com |
“Hey Troops, Sean V from Canada here. I've already posted this in the forums but if anybody out there comes across a couple of extra Clonetrooper #41 I'm willing to send the cash to send them to me. Not much new here up to #40 but in small numbers. Toys r us got the deluxe wave 2 in and the Holo Yoda with the purchase of three figures. Not much else.”verestiuk@golden.net |

Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times has written a review of Revenge of the Sith, and he gave it 3.5 out of 4 stars. His review was blunt by saying, "His reaction is that of a nice kid in a teenage comedy [about Padme's pregnancy], trying to seem pleased while wondering how this will affect the other neat stuff he gets to do. To say that George Lucas cannot write a love scene is an understatement; greeting cards have expressed more passion." He does say a lot of good things about the movie though, so read his full review here. |

"Boston, MA: I went on a mini toy run today. Both Target and Toys R' Us had many sales including basic figures marked down to $4.99. The Toys R' Us in Somerville had the Holographic Yoda figures out, the VOTC figures marked down to $7.99, plenty of the exclusive Anakin Fighters, but no new basic figures. The Target in Somerville had figures #41-44, the Vader with operating table, no exclusive Target Clone Trooper, and one rude employee who was not friendly when I asked about the Target Clones while he was re-stocking the Star Wars figures. The Target in Everett had three empty pegs where the Target exclusive Clone Troopers should be and nothing else good. I was trying to be good and not blow money, but I broke down to get the Toys R' Us Yoda and some Clone Troopers. The kids were going nuts at Target. It's funny how they find toys appealing for different reasons than the adults do. I pointed out to one young man that figures #41-44 where out, but he was totally uninterested. He stated that the Neimodian Warrior was "freaky" looking, nor was he interested in the Super Articulated Clone Trooper stating that he already had a Clone Trooper. I'm getting totally psyched for the movie now. Ebert and Roeper gave it two thumbs up too and didn't have much bad to day about it either."KaperJB@aol.com |

“There is not much to report out here in Tatooine-like So Cal as we have seen no Target clones, hardly any 33-40 figures except a few here and there, nothing past 41, no TRU exclusive Anakin Starfighter, nor any of the second or third deluxe wave. Seems like these are more on the east coast, but definitely not out here. Kinda dry out here, just like the weather. Anyways, I wanted to shout out to a few troopers who definitely need to be recognized. First, a big shout out to Sithryan for hooking me up with some items I have been waiting a long time for, as well as some I did not even know existed. Thanks a ton! Second, to new troopers Tim and Amy from St. Louis. They were able to help me with a Target Lava Vader. You guys will fit into this site just fine. Everyone, I can vouch for them! And lastly to Darth Spice for the trade for the Sandtrooper T-shirts. I will wear them with pride, especially at the Comic Con this summer. Seems like I have made at least one trade with somebody on this site. Keep the unselfishness going.”chicanodom@msn.com |
