Illinois. Gurnee and Vernon Hills both have them. Toys 'R' Us is certainly not Star Wars 'R' Us, pegs have been wiped clean but yet to be replaced with new goods. I am glad they are starting to filter in on the coasts but N. Illinois and S. Wisconsin seem to all share this never ending Saga of Retail Impotence! It is a shame. I see every other brand with new product, He-Man, G.I. Joe etc. all seem to get newer product while I stare at Ki-Adi Mundi and Teemto and Jango Pilot. The only place I have found new 3-3/4 inch figures has been Wal-Mart and every one beat "Beyond Belief!" When will it end? I am patient and have of the new figures but this is silly. It is just like before the Power of the Jedi were released. Maybe this "new" package that is coming will help jump start the greatest Action Figure line ever produced. Have Patience and don't loose focus, they're coming. Slowly but surely. Good luck to all of you, Kick A#$ and take Names! Back when people were trying to get their names on the list at F.A.O. and worried to death that this would be the prize that slipped through their collective fingers this year. The month of truth arrived and the Shuttles began to filter in to happy collectors across the globe. Some were happy, only a few were sad about the shipping process. Our Extensive Poll here at Sandtroopers helped us back this up. The interesting thing happened several weeks ago when we were flooded with reports of Troops receiving extras, yes, extras of this coveted prize. Many claiming they were, yes, billed, but F.A.O. sent more than they wished to purchase! You don't have to believe in Ronald Reagan's 'Trickle Down Economics' to see that they are now indeed even trickling into K-B Toys ![]()
Listen up FAO and Hasbro, three times the number of people that were either satified or hadn't gotten this yet, were NOT SATISFIED. Some Troopers wrote in telling me they had gotten a case of the "Shuttle Shivers" from the dizzying ups and downs of this wild ride. This is just like when this toy store took a bath on the Episode I Fambaa back in 1999. Next up is Star Tours, a joint venture of Hasbro and Disney. Is the Mouse in your House? Or do you simply have no use for a box with an arm on it? Vote on this topic above in Extensive Poll No. 5. The answer to Scott's question is yes, some of us have colleted LOTR figures and even Simpsons figures. I don't know what's up with Hasbro not sending out enough product, it's not for a lack of interest like they want you to believe, it's just laziness. You would think that working in retail I would be able to find new figures but that has not been the case, Hasbro just is not sending out the stuff. "It really bugs me that retailers don't care whether they put out new stuff and Hasbro could care even less. I have yet to see any 2003 figures and the year is almost half over. Scalpers waiting at TRU''s door when it opens to buy the one case they send does not help either. I was at TRU the other day and it looked like they had just stocked the shelf with more April 23rd stuff from last year. What do we do and what is the official word from Hasbro?" I gotta agree with Keith ... Hasbro SUX!!!! So far since my last post all I have been able to snag was a Spider Droid and a Boba Fett. I am thankful for the dumb luck I had in finding them (I should have played the lottery that day) but that's all I've seen. This past weekend I finally broke down and wrote two NASTY letters to Hasbro and Wal-Mart about the state of affairs for Star Wars collectors. Hasbro was pretty decent in their answer, while I got nothing from Wal-Mart. "On a side note, after going to my local Wal-Mart for the 15th billion time I decided to take matters into my own hands. I found a site called uratoy.com and upon inspection decided that if I could not find anything I'll make my own. And so I did. What you do is send a figure of your choice Star Wars or otherwise and a pic of you and in a few days...a MOSC figure of you!!! Go to the website and check out the galleries and see whether you can spot mine!!! For 60-100 bucks I think it's worth the investment. Well, it appears official, Toys 'R' Us will no longer be getting anymore SW items. What they have (Jar Jar's and Zams) has been relegated to a little used or known section of the store and the once former grand Star Wars display now holds Power Rangers. Zellers no longer has anything SW in it's stores and Wal-Mart has been completely hopeless for as long as I can remember. I would like to thank Hasbro for keeping their Canadian neighbours in mind. "Collecting used to be fun and exciting. I enjoyed, as many of you do, finding new items in the stores myself and coveting them as I bring them up to the cash register. I have not been able to do that in this city since the first initial wave of AOTC figures came out. Just like E1, the initial run of toys looked promising but soon fizzled to nothing. "As much as I enjoy Sandtroopers and have benefited greatly form the people I have met through this site I do not feel it is fair that I am forced to rely on their generosity, time and help in order to complete my own collection. Hey Hasbro, I want to give you my hard earned money, do me the courtesy and stock the friggin shelves. Hoping the Force will come this way." francishouse@touchfam.ca Posted by: Jason | 20 May 2003 | 19:02 EDT Sandtrooper NEXU'S ATTACK reports: "Hi all, I just got back from Star Wars Weekends at MGM Studios here in Orlando, Florida and I was lucky enough to be at the right place at the right time to get some brand new merchandise. "At the Tatooine Trader store inside the park, which is the official store for the Star Tours ride, they had just received brand new cases of the last (third wave) of Star Tours figures. "Each case brings a total of 24 figures of the same character. I was given the chance to open some of these cases as they were being brought out from their stockroom. What a thrill !! "The first case I opened was packed with R5-D2's (nice weathered effect) while a second case with the sku # 22776400 had all G2-T9's figures; these are exactly as G2-T4 droid previously released but, having blue highlights around the head and feet instead of red. "The boxes were carton # 132 and 133 out of 150, as it is printed on their side. Given the fact each case has 24 figures x 150 cases, that is a total of 3,600 figures for each of the characters. "The store still hasn't received the SK-Z38 (bird-looking droid), and according to their computers, there is no shipment tracking available for it; in other words, the figure hasn't been shipped. I was told by the gentleman managing the Tatooine Trader store to expect this droid to show up within the next two weeks. "There were plenty of Starspeeder 3000 shuttles. These are just a bit bigger in scale than an Action Fleet vehicle yet smaller than a regular ship for the 3 3/4" scale. "Despite its small size and practically "unknown" status, the vehicle is well constructed, packed with features such as lights and sounds and it even includes a small figure (removable) of Captain Rex. This tiny droid can be attached to a peg provided, inside the ship. The roof of the vehicle can be taken out, revealing three rows of orange seats. Here are the specifications:" R2-D2 Sound Effects (pressing down on R2) Captain Rex Voice Shuttle Engine Sounds Light Speed Sound Effects Working Cabin Lights and Door Removable Roof Removable Captain Rex The vehicle requires 3 "AA" batteries which are included. "The Starspeeder 3000 was present in such an abundance that boxes were piled up almost as high as the ceiling and it was being sold outside of the store right next to the Star Tours ride. "As of today, "Once Upon a Toy" the Hasbro operated toy store located in Downtown Disney's west side had 0 (Zero) Wave 3, zero Starspeeders. Only within the MGM Studios these items are available at the time. "Admission to the park is $50.00 a day, while Florida residents can get a $109.00 four parks/four day pass, which allows them to go in and out of the park as many times as they please. "I was able to get some 2 extra Starspeeder 3000 and 2 extra droids. I'll be willing to trade them (accordingly) for the ONLY figures I need which are: 2x Yoda & Chian and 2x Ashla & Jempa. Keep in mind each Star Tours figure costs $10.00 and the Starspeeder goes for $20.00 plus tax. Give me a holler if you're interested in a trade. "Toys 'R' Us STILL hasn't gotten in any new 4" figs but they did get the 12" Han, Lando, and AT-ST Driver. And K-B lowered the price to $7.99. Take care all." c-ryan@mchsi.com ... And there you have it! Thanks for the report Chad! Posted by: Jason | 7 May 2003 | 19:09 EDT Sandtrooper THE CHAD reports: "It seems that Target is our only hope and the only place here in north Alabama getting the New figures like Boba Fett (Carkoon), Han Hoth, and Mynock Chewbacca. Toys 'R' Us has drastically cut their Star Wars section down and Wal-Mart still has the old figures from last year. My Wal-Mart will not move these. A TRU employee told me that they won't get any new figures until the next movie. It sounds like Star Wars figures will get the axe. Well, Hasbro can you explain yourself? Take care." c-ryan@mchsi.com Posted by: Darth Crypt | 7 May 2003 | 16:48 EDT Jive talkin' Palm Talker blowout at Brian's Toys! "We just received a large shipment of closeout POTJ Palm Talkers.
