"Hey Troopers! I will trade you a Clone Commander AND a Red Royal Guard for a Target exclusive Clone Trooper. Mine are both C-9 or better. Is the Target Clone still available? Let me know, and let me know its condition. I will toss in a DVD of Clone Wars Season 3 also. I burned it from my TIVO straight to DVD, so it looks great. Let me know ASAP! Thanks!"sithryan@msn.com Ryan, the Target exclusive Clone Trooper is still available, but not all Targets have them out quite yet. Keep looking because they're bound to show up sometime for you. If you ask one of the store managers to look it up in their system for you, they might be able to hook you up. The DCPI# for the exclusive Clone Trooper is 087-06-1489. If they have them, not all store managers will put them out on the shelves since they're supposed to hold off until May 1st (tomorrow). Good luck with the hunt! |
“Target (Gurnee, IL) has Wave 2 of the Deluxe figures. There were 2 Clonetroopers w/jetpack, 2 Vaders w/operating table, 1 Vulture droid, & 1 Yoda w/ Can-Cell. Still no sign of the exclusive Clonetrooper. Everywhere else has pretty much the same stuff from 4/2.That's all for now.”wrightcombo@juno.com |
“Bobafred chiming in from So Cal. Just wanted to give you troopers a super heads up on the Target 5 pack clamshells.... they don't fit! So don't waste the trip. I just don't get it? They had this problem with Lava Vader, rectified it with Articulated Clone, and now dropped the ball hard on this one. (Clearance here they come!) I was able to actually try one on in the store and wow...a major let down for your Bulls Eye. They will damage your card top in a heartbeat. On a brighter note Toys R us is putting out cases with the following figs 3 Clone Commanders, 2 Nemodian Warriors, 2 Wookiee Warriors, 2 Articulated clone trooper, 2 Battle Droids, oh and 1 Clone pilot if your still looking. Mustafar play set in Simi Valley Wal-Mart still no signs any were else! Bobafred On the Hunt signing out!”orozco91331@yahoo.com |
"I just thought you guys might like a picture of the diplomas that were handed out at he Jedi Training stage to the kids who got to get up one stage. This is one of the more unique Celebration 3 exclusives, and more than likely one of the rarer ones."ian51@comcast.net |
We all know that Revenge of the Sith will be the last Star Wars movie to ever come out, but that doesn't mean Star Wars will be ending anytime soon. Lucasfilm will be busy working on two TV series (one animated and the other will be live-action), so there will be lots to look forward to in the next several years. There's also a slight chance for a Celebration IV convention in 2007 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Star Wars. Hyperspace has been providing its members all sorts of exclusive content for ROTS and Celebration III, and the "exclusive content" will continue on. So what exactly is in store for Hyperspace members? You can check out all the details about Hyperspace membership here. |
The online version of Wired Magazine has written up an article about the true master of the Force... George Lucas. In the article they go into the mind of Lucas, where Lucas actually admits that even he's a fan of Star Wars. He was quoted at saying, "I like Star Wars, but I certainly never expected it would take over my life." Read the full story here. |
“Bobafred Chiming in from So Cal. Just wanted to let you troops know that the Target super articulated Clone Trooper has been shooting out the door (or back doors) at a majority of the Targets in the S.F.V. I had a very helpful guest service rep pull inventory at all the stores that carries them, and it looks like 36 pieces per store is there allotment for those who have not broke the on shelf street date of May 8th. The most interesting thing is that other stores only had 2, 7, 8, 13, etc. foul play? Or supplemental income? So stay on it Troops! I have an extra Target exclusive articulated Clone, or Lava Vader, Unleashed Vader, Cantina scenes 1 or 2, for a still in need of CIII Vader. Give me a holler so we can work it out.”orozco91331@yahoo.com |
Available in most stores tomorrow (4/28) will be five different TV Guides to commemorate the upcoming movie, Revenge of the Sith. What's cool about these are that they're animated, meaning the image on the covers change when you look at them from different angles. The five that are coming out include the following: Anakin Skywalker (holding his lightsaber changes to the hooded Anakin then to Darth Vader), Padme Amidala (changes to her daughter Princess Leia), Animated Wookiee Battle (on their home planet of Kashyyyk), Chancellor Palpatine (transforming into to the shrouded Emperor) and the epic duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin on Mustafar. “Hey Troops! Hope this can help some of you the following is the dcpi number for the Target Exclusive Clone Trooper: 087061489 I've been told if you give it to a Target Employee they will sell you a Clone (If they give you resistance, talk to a manager) Thanks to Viagra Prime on TNI for getting this for me. With any luck we Troopers can get these first and really hurt the scalpers May 8th.”greeneyedtigger@comcast.net |

“Greetings Troopers! I am looking to set up a local collectors network in the Boise, Meridian, Nampa, and Caldwell area in Idaho. This area is plagued with scalpers, and we, as the collectors must unite to help each other on a local level finding the toys we need. I will, of course still be part of the national Sandtroopers cause, helping other troops with toys, and store reports, but would enjoy connecting on a local level as well E mail me with contact information, and I will get hold of you and we can organize our efforts, and beat the scalps! I look forward to hearing from future Boise, Idaho area troopers! Met a future trooper at Wal-Mart on Saturday- hope to meet more Boise troopers soon!”sithryan@msn.com |
UPDATE: In only a matter of hours, the exclusive talking Darth Vader from Celebration III is already sold out. Maybe they should buy the cases off those scalpers on eBay, so that they can then sell the figures to us Star Wars collectors. |
"Just had to put in my two cents about CIII. It was awesome! Met a lot of cool people and acquired a toy or two (or more). One of the best parts was meeting folks from Sandtroopers.com. Spice, you have a terrific family! Now, how can we get your wife to explain this insane hobby to my wife. Anyway, as the memory of the lines fades, the joy of being at the all-time greatest Star Wars gathering ever grows. If you couldn't make it, enjoy the pics that have been posted. Toy news: found the exclusive KB 14" Chewie at Gurnee Mills on the way home. That's all."dsollitto@new.rr.com |
"Hey Troops, Donna from So Cal here. Spent a couple of days in Vegas while all you lucky troopers are in Indy for C3. Did some hunting but came up empty in finding that elusive AT-TE Gunner for me to complete the first 40 figs. I did, however, find the new Mustafar Playset at Wal-mart and the newest wave of Galactic Heros (Kit Fisto, Mace, etc) at Target. I also stopped by the M&M store on the strip, to see if they had any Mpire items for sale. They had only one T-shirt (Dare to go to the Dark Side) but I also found a Revenge of the Sith Stock Car by Action. Back in So Cal, I found the new 5-pack Star Cases and the second wave of Micro Sets (AT-AT & Snowspeeder, X-wing & Vader's Tie, Shuttle & Slave I) at Target. The Micro Sets wouldn't ring up at the register but the associate manually entered them in. If you are still looking for the Ho! lo Yoda, try looking on the pegs at TRU. I found a whole case hanging on the pegs. Lastly, Kohls has lowered their prices on figs to $5.99. I purchased a couple of figs there last week for $6.99 but was able to get a price adjustment refund. Happy Hunting to all!"theloneswlady@aol.com |

While the majority of the Sandtroopers.com staff are enjoying themselves at Celebration III, I have been hard at work at Sandtroopers Headquarters preparing for the onslaught of digital photos and journal entries that will soon be upon me. Just a few minutes ago I received a transmission from one of our Sandtrooper Spies, and this individual sent us more images of upcoming Episode III toys. To name a few we received carded and loose shots of Ask Aak, Meena Tills and the infamous Tarkin. To check out all the images click here. |

"Well fellow Troopers, here in Minnesota it's hit and miss, I hit scalpers with my car, and no one misses them. Ok, enough about my other hobby, on to the stores:Toys 'R Us: Did anyone not go to Midnight Madness? If you didn't hit TRU, because everything that was left over from Midnight Madness is still there (not counting Holo Yoda). Target: Was actually suprised to see a TON of Aayla's, Luminara's and Ki-Adi's there, otherwise nothing new. Wal-Mart: The store most love to hate treated me right the other night around midnight. An AT-TE Gunner, Polis Massian and Vader's Medical Droid sat on the shelf. Off to the side? Pallets, now usually I open cases myself, but there was actually an employee working the section that night (gasp!). I asked and he opened a case. BINGO! Clone Commanders, Clone Pilot, Red Saber Palpatine, Grievous #3 etc. I grabbed two Clone Commanders (one for me and one for a friend), the AT-TE Gunner and Red Sabe Plapatine. I left the rest (including the extremly dissapointing Clone Pilot, ugh, what an ugly figure). Hit your Wal-Marts late Troopers, and hit your scalpers often, hard and repeatedly!" donofthedead666@usfamily.net |

"Hello from Central Texas! Things have been kinda slow since 4/2 when the first 32 figures hit and pieces of others have shown up now and then. Today at our brand new Super Wal-Mart in Harker Heights, I saw my first #40 + figures and I almost overlooked them. I picked up the #41 SA Clone Trooper, at first glance, I thought he was #6, they look very similar in the packaging. Also there was the Neimodian Warrior, Destroyer Droid and a red sabered Palpy figure... only one of each, someone must have beat me to the others! They also have tons of Deluxe figures, Beast figures and ARC-170... you name it they pretty much have it.At Target, I saw the 12" PEZ dispensers, they are BIG, but my wife told me NO! So I left them there for the younger generation. Odd though, the candy itself looked normal size, I wonder if if shoots out a whole pack ata time or one peice??? Target also had the MicroMachine type packs as well as the first 32 figures all marked now at $5.24 to compete with Wal-Mart. K-Mart has the Palm Talkers still and a few of the first 32 figures and the new AskMe/Story Telling Yoda... but all priced too high there. I skipped KB, nothing new really that no one else has, but more expensive... no wonder they keep closing stores! SunCoast in the Mall has a few items, GG mini-busts and the ROTS Republic Gunship (only place I've seen theis bad boy)! UPDATED: Supplemental report coming in from starfox in Killeen, TX. Big news, I have not seen this posted anywhere yet, but my local Wal-Mart put out today some of the newer deluxe figures for $9.96 each, to include: Darth Vader: Operating Table (sweet!), Yoda on Bug, Clone Trooper w/flying jetpack & Vulture droids! The down side, all the bubbles were partially crushed, so I left them all there! That's all... stay tuned for news from the gang at C3... starfox signing off... starfox@sandtroopers.com |

“Hey Troops, I'm all geared up for Thursday. Just wanted to drop a note before I saddle up the old dewback and head south to Indy. On the recent tips about the 12-inch Shaak-Tis and Offees appearing at Targets, I decided to try the Oshkosh Target in East Central Wisconsin. None were there, but I did find the three ROTS figs with glasses. I picked up the Gen. Grievous with glass. And here's the big news: they had all four giant Pez dispensers. These things are a lot cooler than I had thought. They stand at tall at 12 inches and at $19.99; theyre a lot cheaper than any I've seen on the web. That's all for now. CU@CIII!”dsollitto@new.rr.com |

“Hey Troops, Donna from So Cal here. Just got back from spending the week in Sacramento. Did some hunting there but no luck in my quest for figs #33-#40. Then by hunting back in So Cal the last two days, my luck changed. Taking everybody's tip about Kohls, I went to two local ones and found the Clone Commander, Grievous, and Palpatine with the red saber. Then I went by TRU and found the Clone Pilot, Vader's Droid, Polis, Mas Amedda, and Palpatine with blue saber. No sign of the Tank Gunner. Went by Target and found the 12" Shaak Ti and Barriss Offee. KB had the new Chewie exclusive and also the battle arena sets. Lastly, the AT-RT with Driver is showing up, I think, in their own case. I found 5 at both Target and TRU. But beware, it seems Target has them priced at $19.99 like the mid size vehicle where as TRU is priced at $14.99 which! I think is the correct price like the BARC Speeder. Happy Hunting to all and wishing all who are going to C3 loads of fun since I am not able to.Theloneswlady@aol.com |
“I went to Target this morning. We have 2 of them and one had the 12-inch Shaak Ta and Baris Offee. Both looked good but I don't fool with the 12-inch figures. Cool nonetheless. They also had one ARC-170 if anyone in the Huntsville area is looking for one. I also ran into this pretty hilarious Star Wars Spoof, maybe some of the other Troopers will think it was as funny as I did. Good luck to you guys at CIII. Take care.”c-ryan@mchsi.com |
The Official Site has just released three additional trailers for the upcoming Revenge of the Sith film, which will be out in theaters in exactly one month from today. The three trailers are the following: "Jedi Action 1," "Jedi Action 2" and "Unite." These are approximately thirty seconds in length, but you will see quite a bit of new footage that we haven't seen yet. In "Unite" you will have the opportunity of hearing General Grievous speak for the very first time, and I was kind of shocked that it wasn't the same voice used from the animated Clone Wars micro-series. Watch at your own risk, because some scenes show some spoiler related material. |
“Bobafred chiming in from SoCal. I just wanted to let you troops know to stay on Target if in need of 12-inch Shak Ti & Offee, and also the baby chicken walker. Wal-Mart stores seem to receive sporadic shipments of the 33-40 figs if youre still looking. I also would like to give a big shout out to Chicano Dom for the hook up! And to all you Sandtroopers attending Celebration III, May The Force Be With You All! I unfortunately had to cancel, but will make it up at San Diego Comic con. Also looking to hook up with a trooper for Celebration 3 Vader, in return for Holo Leia (Comic con), and or cash, Target Vader or lots to trade! Drop me a line.”orozco91331@yahoo.com |

Four previous released Palm Talkers (C-3PO, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, and R2-D2) have been reintroduced to the Star Wars collecting community. This time instead of being called Palm Talker's they are now called Super Deformed. These four Super Deformed toys are the same as their previous release as Palm Talkers just now in a new package. To see the addition to the Palm Talkers/Super Deformed Visual Guide. These are only available at K-Mart stores. So, be sure to check out the Palm Talkers Guide and talk about it in our forums. |
The man who played the role of a much younger Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ewan McGregor, has informed Hollywood.com that he will not be signing any autographs on Star Wars memorabilia while working on his "Guys and Dolls" performance in London, England. He explains, "I made a decision a while back, I'm not going to be available to sign Star Wars stuff at the stage door." To read more about this click here. |
The Official Site has just released a new trailer for the upcoming Episode III video game, which is due to be released on May 5th, and you will definitely want to go see it NOW! You do have to be a Hyperspace member in order to see the new trailer, but I'm sure it will soon become available on their website. I'd like to go into full details about this new trailer, but I don't want to reveal any possible spoilers since there are a couple clips that are a bit revealing. All I can say is that this game is going to have as much action as the movie, and it should easily be the best Star Wars video game to date! Enjoy! |
I'd like to give a big shout out to our fellow staff member, Jimsjedi, who turns 32 years old today. Hope you have a great day today, and hopefully you'll score a great number of new ROTS toys! Happy birthday Jim! |

“With advice from many, I hit up my local Kohl's in Temecula, Ca yesterday and to my surprise I found a large display with mostly 1-32 figures, but tucked away within the display was 5 of the 33-40 figures. Two of them were a little banged up, but the other 3 were just fine. I left an extra Polis Massan and a clone pilot that were in pretty bad shape. Go to Kohl's everyone. Otherwise not much else anywhere. Question: Is there really a ROTS red battle Droid? A report called out a red Battle Droid was found. Is this a hoax, or is this legit? Lastly, does anyone have an extra Pablo Jill of the Post OTC waves? I realized I do not have him and only need him to be up to date. If there is anyone out there, I may have something you need. Email me and I am pretty sure we can work a deal! Good luck everyone.”chicanodom@msn.com Dom, we had a reader confirm the Red Battle Droid, I also heard from Jimsjedi he found it as well. They are out there. |
“Wal-Mart in Hammond, LA put out case with Clone Commander, but that was the only one I saw from that assortment. There is still no sign of saber-weilding Palpy, red OR blue. I ALSO have a Lava Vader for anyone who can get me a CIII Vader...please help! I could use a good Trooper right now since I cant make the show. Thanks!”RWTin2005@aol.com |
At CIII we will all have the chance to hear+see Hayden Christensen, but won't have the chance to actually meet him. The chosen one will be in Italy working production on the up-coming movie "Decameron" Instead, he will be on the line with a live interview, question and answer session hosted by Jay Laga'aia. We will get to hear what is was like for him to actually put on the Vader costume as well as what is next in line for him as far as movie roles. Check the official site for the official word. Maybe we can get lucky and actually have Natalie Portman-(Padme') show up at the event itself. I will make sure to bring my bib with me then, got to have something in place to catch the drool. |

“I went to TRU on Sunday to look at a few things. I know, the Holo Yoda was being sold that day. I tell ya this guy was going be sold faster a jackrabbit on a date. They didn't have anything I wanted to buy to get him. I said screw it and took him up the register and he rang up $9.99. He is a very nice figure. I took back the 2 Early bird sets to Wal-Mart and got my money back to make up for buying the Holo Yoda. I wasn't too happy with the figures that you will receive with that. Hope you Troopers had an easy time with Holographic Yoda. If my store could have just had another ARC-170!”c-ryan@mchsi.com |

“Upon the visit to my Toys R Us store here in Columbus, Ohio on Morse road I grabbed two of the $14.99 ships with figure to make my $25.00 purchases and got in line. Was the next to get a Yoda the last one and they opened a second check out line and the manager took my Yoda and gave it to the first person in the new lane - so I left my items at the store and walked out after a discussion with her. They only got one box of them, they did have some at another location so I went there and was able to get it - that store had 5 boxes of them - the Sawmill location. Was able to find figures 33- 40 except 38 and 39 at Kroger of all places today. So check out your local Kroger stores if you have one in your area and you might get lucky. If any one going to the Celebration 3 can pick me up the exclusive talking Vader I would appreciate it - can trade a Target Vader for it or would buy it plus shipping etc, I heard you could also get a case for it as well. Mother is still looking for somewhere where she can find Star Wars earrings. Also, For those of you going to Celebration 3 I ran across this web address that might be helpful it shows alot of the merchandise for sale at the Celebration 3 store.”Onebigk@aol.com |

Hey Troopers, after being reminded by Jedimaster-C today was the day to acquire the Holographic Yoda. It was a shame none of the three I ordered from Amazon.com came in a condition worth speaking about. All were returned the day after I received crushed cards with no bubble or air wrap. I decided to continue to fill my collection and get the figure free vs. buying it outright. I settled for an ARC-170 Fighter to satisfy the $25.00 purchase. After going through the pegs of what is now know as the latest in pegwarmers. It mostly consisted of Collection 1 minus the Clone Trooper. I did see the 12-inch Anakin but I think Im going to wait that one out. Red Guard, Blue Guard keep in mind Troops, they made plenty to go around. Dont be sucked in by the rare and hard to find. How many figures from the other two releases were hard to find? I remember just a few at the tail end. They had the Holographic Yoda available and were doing 1 per customer, and you could only get it at the service desk. So I guess you could say they were doing it right! I also took a tip from Sandtrooper Jetfire and scoped out the Kohls store in Gurnee, IL. There I managed to snag Mas Amedda #40, so if your looking for figures 33-40 Id hit Kohls if you have them nearby. With less than two weeks until the greatest Woodstock of Star Wars let us unite and help each other fill the gaps. Leave no Troop behind! |
“Had lots of luck today with the Holographic Yoda. As a matter of fact I have a few extra. I also have an extra holographic Emperor, a ROTS blue Royal Guard, as well as Silver Sandtroopers and Silver Vader. I am hoping others are in need of these and would be willing to make a few trades. I am in need of the red royal guard, and pretty much all figures greater than #33. Email me if you have any offers. By the way, has anyone seen the AT-RT? Does this even exist? Will it be a part of a later wave? If anyone knows, drop me a line.”chicanodom@msn.com |

“Hey all, Jedimaster-C here with some news. I was at Wal-Mart this morning before I went to work and saw 3 cases of figures on a pallet. The cases contained 24 figures. One of the cases was opened so I looked into inside and to my surprise 2 Red guards stare at me. I grabbed 2 of them. I want to so I can open. These guys are the best Royal Guards that Hasbro ever made. The only problem is they don't have force pikes. They have these large laser rifles. They fit in the cockpit of the shuttle nicely. If you still need the Red guards they are out there. The case only had 2 of them, which sucks.”c-ryan@mchsi.com |

“Hi, I just picked up a red Seperatist Droid, they are normally tan, is this an intentional variation or a mistake? Any insight is much appreciated. Hopefully a Trooper can drop me a line and let me know if they are finding red Battle Droids.”kfrealtor1@msn.com |

“Hey there Troops! I know it's been a very long time but it's been rough down here in Tampa, Florida. I did manage to find some figures past 32, which is quite a feat in this neck of the woods. I found the Polis Massan Alien, Chopper Droid, Mas Amedda, and AT-TE at the St. Pete Target on Martin Luther King Jr. If anyone out there has any extra figures 33-36 for sale or trade please let me know. I have a red guard and a Lava Reflection Vader if it helps anyone.”Morley2020@aol.com |
“Lin Que here with the Omaha report. April 2nd has come and gone and so far things have been pretty good. I found a Red Imperial Guard and almost had to slap a few people trying to snatch it. Went back to Wal-Mart today and found Palpatine (blue saber) Clone Pilot, and another Red Guard. If anyone is interested I'd like to trade it for AT-TE Gunner, Clone Pilot, or Clone Commander (I need 2 of each so I'm willing to trade and buy). Take care troops the figs are out there! My reflection is my greatest collecting opponent. Lin Que out!”washingtonss@cox.net |
“Hey Troops, Donna from So Cal with my madness report. Arrived at Wal-Mart at 11:15 p.m. to only find that there was nobody waiting in line outside where the tent was set up. Asked an employee who was leaving the store if this Wal-Mart was having midnight madness and she said no. Apparently, the list on the website was incorrect in stating that this store was participating. Luckily, there was a TRU close by that I knew was holding midnight madness so I headed there next. Arriving at TRU around 11:25 p.m., I was about the 50th person in line. This store only had 10 Holographic Yoda's and the first 10 people already got the tickets. The manager at this store was very orderly. He only allowed 10 people in at a time so nobody got trampled and only allowed each person a limit of 2 of the same figure so everybody had a chance to get everything they stocked. I finally entered the store around 12:40 p.m. and spent a half hour shopping. I must say the manager did a very good job. No pushing and knocking people over at all. A very enjoyable experience.” For the rest of the report and amazing trade offer click here.Theloneswlady@aol.com |
This week marks CreatureCantina.com's fourth anniversary! That's four years of lambasting our hobby, our community, the Saga, its actors, its characters, and of course its creator. Of course it's all been in good fun... mostly. As the CC.com staff marches on towards another year of irreverent humor, they've posted a massive update this week to celebrate this special occasion. On top of the most scathing Star Wars comedy on the web, they're rewarding their readers with the chance to win a valuable prize! They're raffling off a one-of-a-kind piece of Cable Original artwork. It's an ink drawing of Walrusman a.k.a. Ponda Baba. Each Cable Original piece is hand drawn on high-quality 9" x 12" bristol board, and each character is only drawn once then retired. We are just shy of two weeks away from four days of nothing but Star Wars in Indianapolis. The official Celebration III site has announced more events that have been recently added to the table. Please check the links below for the official releases.More Behind the Magic at CIII We all know that George Lucas will be on hand at CIII, but we all have the chance to meet the talent that reports to him, and brings his ideas to life. From concept artists to designers you will have a chance to meet and talk to the folks that work their tails off making our favorite Star Wars movies. Some of the talent that will be on hand will be: Ryan Church (Concept Design Supervisor), Iain McCaig (Concept Artist), Robert E. Barnes (Concept Artist), Dan Gregoire (Previsualization/Effects Supervisor), and many others that will share what it takes to create the magic that is added to these films. Other departments that will also be on hand will be the "Visual Effect Team," "Various Arts Teams" as well as the "Lighting Team" that will talk about the focus on creative "mood" lighting and how it is essential and believable on screen (cue Barry White music here - just kidding). Romper Room at CIII Not all the fun will be taken by the adults in attendance at CIII. There will also be an area set up for the kids to have a great time as well. Friday through Sunday the Star Wars Kids Room will be set up in Room #102 for families to go and spend some quality time enjoying various craft projects. There will be a lot for the little ones to do such as coloring, story sessions, droid building classes, drawing classes, and other events to cater to the kids. Please check out the official announcement for the complete time listings for each day. Plus, they will offer free face painting, but for KIDS only (Sorry Dan and Spice, you will have to get someone else to paint your faces as Darth Maul). |
The Official Site has updated their Hyperspace section, by adding a Quicktime video of the Polis Massa Medical Center. The set you're about to see was used for one entire day of filming back in July 2003. If you're a Hyperspace member you should can check this out here. |
We have added two more reports from this past weekend's Midnight Madness event. First up is a report from Dave Demel (starfox), who happened to score not only Target's exclusive Lava Vader figure but also the Toys 'R Us Holographic Yoda. He was also able to hook me up with one of each, thanks to his wonderful wife for helping out in that mission! Then we have a report from Rob Amid (WedgeWannaBe), who was able to do his Star Wars shopping in style, by wearing his TIE Fighter Pilot outfit. You can tell in some of the photos that he's having a great time. We hope you enjoy their reports and all of the other staff members' reports as well. |

gameinfowire.com has posted on their website several new screenshots of the upcoming addition to Star Wars Galaxies, "Episode III Rage of the Wookiees." Some recent images are of the vehicles you can use in the game, such as the ARC-170 Fighter, TIE Fighter, X-Wing Fighter and so on. Check out the new screenshots here. |
LucasArts has just released seven new video clips of the upcoming game, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. In the video clips you get to see Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi kick some major butt against Super Battle Droids and even Count Dooku, while they're onboard one of the Trade Federation Cruisers. The level of detail in the game will make it appear as if you're watching a movie... it's that good! Check out all the video clips for yourself here. |
Gamespot.com has just written up a preview for an upcoming Star Wars game called "Puzzle Blaster." You might not have already heard of this game, and that's because it's not going to be out for Xbox, PS2 or Gamecube... it will be released for compatible Cingulair cell phones! The concept of the game, developed by THQ Wireless, is to shoot Star Wars characters' heads out of a movable cannon at the bottom of the screen to create groups of like icons, eliminating them before they crush you. There are eleven characters in all, such as R2-D2, General Grievous, Chewbacca and more. In single-player mode you have a few different games you can play, but supposedly the major selling point of this game is playing its multiplayer mode. Read the full preview and see screenshots of the game here. |
The Official Site now has a preview track from the Revenge of the Sith soundtrack that you can listen to. I can sum up my reaction toward this preview track in one single word... "Wow!" The song, titled "Grievous Speaks to Lord Sideous," gives you a taste of what is yet to come for the ROTS soundtrack. John Williams has done another great job by using his muscial abilities to the fullest, and by only hearing one minute of music you're pulled deep into the movie. You do have to be a Hyperspace member to listen to this, but if you're not a Hyperspace member yet you might want to reconsider joining the club. If it weren't for the talents of John Williams and his outstanding orchestra, Star Wars films would probably not be as good as they really are. The soundtrack CD will be released on Tuesday (5/3), and will include an exclusive collector's DVD, "Star Wars: A Musical Journey." For more information about this release. Read more about this here. |
Matt Stover, author of the "Revenge of the Sith" novel, will be online this Wednesday (4/6) for an exclusive chat with Hyperspace members starting at 1:00pm (EST). There will be a lot to discuss regarding ROTS, so if you want to avoid spoilers then you don't want to participate in this online chat. But then again, if you're already a Hyperspace member I'm sure it's safe to say that you're very much into spoiler material. Read more about this here. |
“Troops, I'm posting this for the second time so obviously I'm desperate. I have a 4-day child's badge for Celebration III that I want to sell. There must be some trooper out there who wants to make some young Padawan happy by surprising him or her with a trip to the biggest Star Wars party ever! I will seriously consider any offers. I accept trades. Take advantage of me. I'll be sure you get it in time for C3. Listening to any reasonable or unreasonable offers.”dsollitto@new.rr.com |
“Day 2 recon: Only new find was the Pez dispensers at the Lewis Center Wal-Mart. My Padawan learner Sandtrooper apprentice a.k.a. Mom (if you read my day one post) needs some help with something - she is looking for some pierced Star Wars earrings. Either R2-D2 or C-3p0. Does anyone know where I can find these for her? Please drop me a line. Thanks in advance.”Onebigk@aol.com |
Here is some information that should be useful to a lot of Troopers out there...Target Stores I hope everyone had fun this weekend going store to store and hopefully finding everything you were looking for. If you stopped at Target and either had a coupon or not now would be a good time to go there to get more figures. I took my lunch hour to check out more stores and at my Target in Milford, MA I noticed that all SW figures were now just $5.00. I called this store and the Millbury,MA one and both said they would honor this price and give me the balance back from Saturday if I still had the receipt. So make sure you didn't throw these away. I am not sure if this sale is at all Targets but it wouldn't hurt to check. K-Mart At the Milford K-Mart they have all of their SW figs at 2 for $11.00. They pretty much had everything that all of the other stores had, but the only difference I saw was that they had all of the re-hashed Super Deformed figs. If you had a hard time finding thses before you have another chance to pick them up. |
I can certainly tell you one thing that I didnt find a single one of these basic action figures ranging from #33-40. I spoke to a local collector who mentioned that he found every single one of them, and if I remember correctly I think he said he had found them all at Meijers. What figures were expected to be released on April 2nd? Was it only supposed to be #1-32 or #1-40? There were reports from all over the country that people either found them or they didnt find any of them, so Im curious to know how these were released that night. Whatever the case, were running a poll over in the forums asking this very question, so please stop in there and cast your vote. Be sure to reply to the thread, and let us know what store you found them in. If you didnt find these figures (like me), Im sure there will be many fellow Troopers here who could give us all a helping hand. United We Find! |
I think it would be safe to say that a great majority of us went out Friday night for the grand Midnight Madness event, and if you did we would like to see what you purchased. Did you only buy the basic figures? Did you buy everything you saw that had been labeled Star Wars? Did you go out on Saturday and Sunday to continue your shopping spree? Whatever the case, send us your pictures and well be glad to post them up on our website for you. |
We are three weeks away from four days of nothing but Star Wars in Indianapolis. The official Celebration III site has announced more events that have been recently added to the table. Please check the links below for the official releases.Padawan Training at CIII Are your kids driving you crazy? Is the darkside ready to take them over? Well help is here if they will be with you at CIII. At various times everyday they will have the chance to learn the ways of the force at the Jedi Training Academy. A jedi master will guide them through lightsaber techniques, as well as a way a jedi defends himself at all times. Make sure they use this talent for good and not evil. Thank god my kids will be home because I know in time they would use this power against me. Enjoy. ROTS Magic Makers The backbone of the Star Wars creation team will be on hand for Q&A at CIII to discuss the behind the scenes actions of ILM and the fun that goes into working on various films. Lorne Peterson, Danny Wagner, and Don Bies will walk you through what it takes from the imagination process to the actual models used in films today. All 3 individuals have had the chance to work on other movies such as Van Hellsing, Peter Pan, Men in Black, E.T. and countless others. If you are into visual effects/modeling in films make sure you don't miss this. |

“Well Troops Devils Ewok here with a report on Midnight Madness TRU Blaine, MN. My wife and friend and I got there at 2:30pm expecting a large crowd. No one else joined the line until 10 p.m. (Wussies!) By Midnight there were about 50-75 people in line. I went in, grabbed my 12-inch Grievous, Unleashed Grievous and 5 3 ? figures (would have had more but I'm on a darn budget!)Had a ticket for Holo Yoda but it didn't impress me so I gave my ticket to another collector. A friend got me a Lava Vader so I'm covered on that. On a cool side note I was covering the event for EternalCollector.com and was able to get inside DURING setup and snap some un-pillaged photos. Going hunting again soon.”donofthedead666@usfamily.net |
“Hey Troopers, It?s been a long, long, even longer, time since I last posted. Now that I am over some of the trials and tribulations of this thing called life I can get back into it. MIDNIGHT MADNESS was exactly that! I went to my not so neighborhood Wal-Mart and waited for an hour only to find out they were not open at midnight, contrary to the web-site. I then raced up to TRU Redwood City and found the remnants of the Star Wars staging area. I was able to grab all the Jedi, BARC, the Boga, and deluxe Palpatine.” For the rest of the report click here.awingace@msn.com |
“I missed out on both the Holographic Yoda and Lava Vader. My Wal-Mart here is packed with early bird sets. I'll pick up for anyone who can't find one (cash, so you'll have the receipt to go with). But out of curiosity I looked for Lava Vader on ebayparkay999@yahoo.com |
“As a fellow Canadian I too went over the border to one of the Wal-Mart?s for midnight madness. All I can say it was free for all and the first for me. Because the isle was so narrow there was no way every body could get in. While the first in line went for the figures I went for the big stuff on the bottom shelf. There was way more figures than vehicles and I was able to get one gunship of two that they put out. The next morning was target where my goal was to find the Arc-170, which I did which they only, had two of two! I was the second to grab it after an 11 year-old with his mother and brother on a recon mission. She had them trained well. Anyway they all the stores had the first 32 and that's into yeah I also got a Lava Vader and my non collecting friend got one as well I figured I was there so I might as well get one.”verestiuk@golden.net |
“Day1 Recon: Even with temps in the low 30?s and snow - at Meijer on Cleveland Ave found all basic figures 1-24 they matched Wal-Mart $5.24 price, 12 in figures for 16.88 - only me and one other guy were looking through them, most other people were at Wal-Mart stores here in town. At the Wal-Mart on Morse road I found 25-28 and the Early Bird Kit, the tent events was kind of lame - the dark side of the M and M ?s were rather tasty. Target on Polaris Parkway found 29-32, was able to get two of the Lava Vader thanks to mother who just happened to be with me and they gave her a ticket for one - and she used it - go mom, maybe be willing to trade for say a CIII Vader. No midnight madness here in Columbus. Toys R Us - also no Holographic Yoda, they said next week but they did have a giant display in the front of the store was awesome. Going back out tomorrow and see if I can find anything else.”Onebigk@aol.com |
“Everyone has a story to tell and I just thought I would tell mine. I went to the Hemet, Ca Wal-Mart last night and met up with fellow Trooper So Cali Rod. We waited near the section about 11:30 and watched the clueless employees stock the shelves. I don't know if this was the same everywhere else, but these guys were not even half-way finished when 12:01 rolled around. Anyways, we saw each of the 40 figures released, however, there may have been 2 cases of the lot that had the upper 30's. After watching the figures being placed on the pegs, I noticed 4-6 red guards but no blue ones. I figured the blues were harder to find. Unfortunately, I was able to get the blue and when I looked for the red, they were gone. All in all, not bad: I got the first 32 figures, minus the red guard of course, and Mas Amedda #40. I did get all 3 Unleashed figures, straight from the case, all 4 deluxe figures and the Barc and Boga. I did not see the ARC-170, nor the AT-TE however and they only had 2 cases of 12-inch figures.” For the rest of the report click here.chicanodom@msn.com |

“Jedi Dom reporting in from East Central Wisconsin: Well, it's been a good day. Went to the local Wal-Mart at midnight and found a couple of honest collectors, some families with young padawans, and a band of scalpers. Wal-Mart had the four preview vehicles, Darth Tater, the Obi with Boga, the new Unleashed wave (which was gone before I left the store), the AT-RT, and the 12-inch including the Ultimate Villain Anakin/Vader. They also had a huge selection of 3.75-inch figures, but I didn't see any clone commanders or red guards. This morning I stopped at Target and got the Lava Vader, the BARC Speeder, and the ARC-170. Then I went to Toys R Us at 9:00 because an employee told me over the phone that they would be opening an hour earlier than usual. As it turns out, another collector, whom I met while standing outside the store, was told the same thing. A manager spotted the five or six of us waiting by the door, came outside, and told us that the store would open at it's usual time, 10:00. We explained what we had been told about the opening time, and that we were all interested in the Holographic Yoda.” For the rest of the report click here.dsollitto@new.rr.com |
“Rogue Jedi TJ Reporting in with local store reports and a plea for Help on some items. I am hoping someone can help me with the Lava Vader and Wal-Mart Early Bird, also the 12" General Grievious and Clone Commander. I have a Magna Guard, Emperor Palpatine with lightsaber, Blue Guard and Padme available. Onto the store report, went to my local Wally World around 20 after 12 and found nothing but scalpers and idiotic employees. There was Mr. ?Hey look at me everybody?, you know the guy, the one who gets everything he wants then hangs around showing off everything he has in his cart.” For the rest of the report click here.tandj914@webtv.net |
“I went to the midnight sale at TRU (Gurnee, IL). Most of the people therewanted the following: all the basic figures, any General Grievous figs, Unleashed figs, ARC-170 & 12-inch figs. What people didn't want was the Attacktix, Force Battlers, & lightsabers. I asked one of the checkout guys what was the most someone spent on ROTS stuff tonight & he said around $333.00. A few people were lucky enough to pick up Vader's Medical Droid, Polis Massan, Mas Amedda, Agen Kolar & Clone Commander. I did not see the Clone Pilot, Padme, Shaak Ti, or Mon Mothma there. When the crowd died down, I got to talk with some of collectors. One guy said the Wal-mart (Antioch, Il) had all the figs except Aayla Secura. So he came to Gurnee to pick it up because there were plenty. Another collector started to put stuff back because he realized he didn't need all of it. They also had Batman Begins items but no one cared. That's all for now.” wrightcombo@juno.com |

Tomorrow is April 2nd, and I think we all know what is so special about that day. No, it's not a major holiday. Yes, it is a Saturday which means you either don't have to work (at least most of us won't have to) or don't have any school to attend. At midnight tonight, across the country, thousands of Star Wars fans and collectors will be rushing to get their hands on new Revenge of the Sith toys. It's what is known as the "Midnight Madness" sale. Stores like Target, Wal-Mart and Toys 'R Us will all be participating in the grand event, and they should all be fully stocked with ROTS toys ready to be sold. The Wal-Mart "Early Bird Set" was briefly mentioned over at the online edition of the Whittier Daily News (located in Whittier, CA), and they help explain what the deal is with this exclusive set. Staff Writer Candice Choi writes, "Wal-Mart is selling a package of classic action figures reproduced from 1977. To create an authentic feel, shoppers will buy an empty box and send away for four action figures just as shoppers did for the original toys. Only 50,000 are being made available at select locations." Let us know what you ended up buying, and please share your overall experience and thoughts about Midnight Madness here in our forums. The Associated Press recently wrote up a nice article about the soon-to-be released novel, "Revenge of the Sith," which was published by Del Ray and written by Matt Stover. The writer of the article, Hillel Italie, explains how Del Ray had so much confidence that this hardcover novel would be a major success, that they didn't feel the need to release it first in paperback format (which is supposedly the "norm" in book standards). Stover told the AP, "Look at how much we know already: We know that Anakin Skywalker becomes Darth Vader. We know that the republic falls and becomes the empire. We know that Anakin is horribly burned and can only survive by being encased in the armor that enables him to live as Darth Vader," Stover says." Read the full article here. |
