Sandtrooper Tyler reports:
“Hey Troopers, I hit the jackpot today and found just about every figure up to the Star Destroyer wave. I found them at Wal-Mart here in North Bay, Ontario, Canada and all were on Tri-logo cards. The only figures I have yet to see on Tri-logo are R1-G4 and R-3PO. We did get these on US cards but they are not listed on the backs of the tri-logo cards. I have the following extras for cost plus shipping; J'Quille x 3, Holo Luke, R2-D2, Jedi Luke, Dutch, Dodonna, Antilles, TIE Pilot, Hoth Luke and Hoth Trooper. All are Tri-logo except for the Hoth figures and cost was $10.26 CAN tax included ($7.60 US). I can get more of the Holo Lukes along with Lando Skiff and Rappertunie if anyone needs those too. If you'd prefer to trade instead, I'm still looking for a couple CW SA Clone Troopers and the Endor General wave. Other than that I'm pretty much caught up on the new stuff thanks to some friends here. I still need quite a few of the original POTF figures (loose) from 1985 though finish if anyone has some for trade. I am also looking for a Kotobukiya Vader to trade for or at a decent price. Take care troops. Over and out from the Great White.”

Sandtrooper Darth reports:
“Hello fellow troopers, Darth here from central Wisconsin. Just did a run at the Target and Wal-Mart stores in Stevens Point. Nothing new to report except remnants of the endor wave at Wal-Mart. I was thinking about the new vintage line of figures coming out later this year and wondering why Hasbro doesn't do something smart like manufacture a vintage figure stand like the one they made in the late 1970's. Think of the Sandtroopers out there that would purchase two of every vintage figure just so they could open one set and display them on the stand. Wouldn't it also be great if they would offer this stand as a mail in offer for Jedi Master points. Alas, one can dream.”

Quick Wausau Update:
My wife ran to Shop-Ko today on the south end of town and noticed they had some figures that her hubby didn't have. So when I got home from work today she tricked me into finding Dengar and Admiral Ozzel she had hidden in the house. All I can say is “outstanding.” She also mentioned they had two more of each still hanging if you need these and live in the area. Otherwise, good luck in your neck of the woods.

Sandtrooper Sithfather David reports:
“Hey troops, Sithfather David here, from good ole NC. I went out tonight on my usual run and TRU was dry on SW figs, but they did have the new LOTR RotK figs (Merry, Morgul lord and Ghost King). However to my delight I finally beat the ’Toy Mafia’ to the 2 new waves at Wally World!!! Target had the only fig that Wal-Mart didnt, Bossk of course had to be the odd ball. Needless to say the hunt was good! There are still a lot of each at Wal-Mart so head on down if you have the time! Or Let me know SOON and I can pick somebody up some stuff! MTFBWY and Semper Fi Cpl Mike!”

It has a slight ding in the window, but otherwise is in great shape, and never been opened. I received 2 different inquiries both saying they wanted it but never sent a money order so please, serious inquiries only. Thanks!!!” - Trooper Sithryan (Ryan Matthews)

Wausau, Wisconsin Report.
Hi Troops, Sandtrooper Dan reporting in from the very warm and finally thawed out city of Wausau. I went out on a toy run yesterday and our local Target had three peg warmers on the pegs, but they did have the second wave Clone Wars figures in finally. They also had the Obi-Wan and Jango Kamino Deluxe sets, and Obi-Wan and Darth Maul cups with figure sets. Wal-Mart really surprised me for a change; they had something new! I picked up Bossk, Han Solo, and General Madine. These were the only three new figures they had, the rest were from the Hoth wave. The main thing is, these new figures are starting to trickle in. K-Mart surprised me also, not for the Clone Wars pegwarmer figures, but for the Jabba's Palace Court Denizens Deluxe sets. They also had the Jabba. I was very happy to score the Denizens set. Shop-Ko finally put out their supply of Spider Droids and Super Battle Droid Factory wiff the playdough. I was shocked. This is the first time I've seen these in this town, and they were released a long time ago if I remember corectly. As for figures, all they had were older ones hanging on the pegs.

All in all it was a pretty good day for finding stuff I needed, and I'm glad to see new and harder to find older products starting to filter in here in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Good luck in your neck of the woods.

Sandtrooper SoCal Jedi Dom Reports:
Dom, of Dom and Dommer“Found a lot of stuff out in sunny, warm Southern California today, more stuff than I have seen since the beginning of December. Even more surprising was that my local Wal-Mart received more today than I have seen in over a year! Hopefully that is a good sign of the times. Anyhow, I got the new Endor wave, the Executor wave, the new Ewok duluxe figure, and not to mention there were tons of X-wings and Silver Clonetroopers at my local TRU as well. Not a bad day to say the least. Anyways, I was able to land extras of all 3 of the Executor wave, and 2 of the 3 of the Endor wave, save the Han in AT-ST disguise. I have Bossk x2, Ozzel x2, Dengar x2, General Lando x1, and Madine x1. All in C-9+ condition. Unfortunately, no Hans, which looks to be the most popular of all 6 figures by far. I am looking to trade if possible. I already have J'Quille, Holo Luke & Tanus Spijek, but they are in C-7 condition. So if anyone has these in near perfect C-9+ condition, I would like to trade for them. I am also looking for a C-9+ Jabba's Court Denizens. These have been very few and far between. Anyways, email me if interested. If I get no offers to trade, the first few offers to buy at cost plus shipping will be honored. Hopefully someone out there can help. Take care!”

Force of the Bay: If You Build it, They Will Come...
It was another magnificent run through the bay; once again I am amazed on what you can find either factory made or something from the creative mind of a collector. Forgive me if you only buy things that are officially licensed products, I am going to attempt to show you some great custom work in this installment. There is something about browsing the thousands of action figures but some of the props people build always intrigues me. If a Sandtrooper is too dirty a job, perhaps maybe enlisting as one of our heavy equipment operators is more your cup of tea. There is everything and anything to help radiate your collection. A blast from the old Kenner line can always be found at a reasonable price. Some of the things that you forgot about, or probably should have been thrown away are all at your disposal. There is always the thing that throws you for a loop, or wonder just what is it? You can find sellers that are well known if you have a hard time trusting complete strangers. You may even find some chappy to start the bidding at nothing for that foreign exclusive you thought you?d never own. You can start at the beginning and find them in the most wonderful conditions. Don?t buy anything, just look around. I stumbled upon this awesome deal for a figure. Seems Amanaman Dan may not be the only one cranking out great dioramas! Please conduct through feedback checks; you may not get an outstanding citizen like Dan! Sandtroopers.com neither endorses nor authenticates any of the items featured here. Special thanks to Jawa Chris Kelso for the spare parts, good luck to you great Troopers in your searches. Kick A#$ and take names!

“Theed Palace Hallway” Lego™ Diorama by ACPin:
Theed Palace“The Battle Droid unit escort the prisoners through a hallway of the Theed Palace. Undermanned against the Trade Federation army, the advisors of Queen Amidala offered no resistance to the invading forces. All areas of the palace from the interior up to the exterior are heavily patrolled by the army of Battle Droids.

“I've been planning to do a Theed Palace but couldn't decide on how large it was going to be and if I could get the correct look and scale of it. So I wound up doing this prototype of the palace hallway on a 32x32 baseplate for starters.”

Sandtrooper Rogue Jedi TJ reports:
“Rogue Jedi TJ checking in with another store report and a big thank you to Trooper Amanaman Dan for making my observation a reality, that is freakin' hysterical man, you are the king!

“Store Report NE PA: the Local Wal-Marts have received their shipments of the repackaged Unleashed Sidious and Jedi Luke; other than that nada. Same hangers at Kaybee and TRU as well. Although when I was at Kaybee I saw the Jedi Council members. They were all there just hanging out. I talked to Plo Koon and Yarael Poof for a bit but I had no idea what they were saying. I shared a cigarette with Even Piel. He was pretty cool but miserable at the same time, and he didn't like my Sammy Davis Jr. joke. All in all it was pretty cool; I got some autographs and such. Moral to the story: check your toy runs as often as you can as you never know what You will find. Good luck in Your toy runs and may the Force be With You. Sandtroopers truly is the best Star Wars collector and fan site around!”

Sandtrooper Vindicator reports:
Canada’s Coast to Coast“Hey gang, Trooper Vindicator kicking it here in the bud capital of the continent (and I ain't talking BudWEISER, if you feel me). Here's the latest from the Northwest. We've lately found near-complete runs of the Yavin and Jabba's Palace waves at our Wal-Mart stores; only J'QUILLE seems to have evaded Canadian collectors this go round (like so many figures before him). If you have an extra J'Quille and know a Canadian, hang onto him and help a northerner out.

“We actually can't complain too loudly this year, we're batting near .800 after having found 11 of the first 15 basics up here this year. Big improvement, but there's still work to do. We didn't get the Tatooine wave either, so keep us in mind. Good luck with the hunt, Troopers, and keep scalping those scalpers.”

“Hey Troopers! This is my first time posting here, but since I never see any troopers reporting from Miami, I thought I would pass on the news, so far none of the Endor wave has shown here, but the re-released new package Unleashed have been spoted at the local Wal-Marts. Darth Sidious and Luke are all over the place at $14.99, on the back of the packages it shows the pictures of Obi-Wan and Leia, so for whoever missed them the first time around, keep your eyes open. I am still looking for the three Endor Wave figures and the Ultra Ewok if anyone can help, and if you are still looking for some stuff drop me a line and maybe I can help you out. Thanks and happy hunting!”

Dewback Patrol: 31st Year of the Kane County Toy Show
[Click to view Coverage][Click to view Coverage]Darth Spice and I commandeered the Imperial landing craft whilst dustrho saddled up his dewback for a rendezvous at the 2004 Kane County Toy in St. Charles, Illinois. Sunday was general public admission day, with dealer day having been Saturday. There wasn't the bevy of marked-up new product we're used to seeing, but there was an abundance of vintage and ’modern vintage’ that was more than your wallet could go up against. The three of us took a cursory look around several buildings full of dealer tables. And while many vendors seemed to offer the same stock of POTF2 through Saga figures, you'd sometimes run into the unusual like twelve-inch carded customs that offered you blown up versions of 3 ? inch equivalents. A few vendors drove a hard bargain but play your cards right and you could walk away with some vintage steals or get that figure from last summer that your fellow Trooper just couldn't find storeside. If I hadn't been so tough on some of the asking prices I may have walked away with that A.S.P., H.I.S.S., or have you ever seen a vintage Jetfire for $180? At the end of the day and four hours of browsing, buying, networking, and making new friends, it was a great time with fellow Troops. We also saw some old friends, like Brian Semling of Brian's Toys, members of the 501st MidWest Garrison, and Rhonda and Karen from Toy Shop Magazine. We encourage everybody out there to saddle up the dewback and make a landing at these type of shows when they are near you. If anything, it drives home the point that if you had missed something in your collection. there IS another! View the coverage of this event and Keep on Troopin'!

Sandtrooper SoCal Jedi Dom Reports:
Dom, of Dom and Dommer“Got an insider trading tip this afternoon from a fellow trooper (So Cali Rod) that the Ozzel wave was available at my local KB store in Hemet, CA. On the tip I went, and to my surprise, they were still there. Possibly because of the $6.99 price tag they carried. I did buy a set for myself as well as an extra set for a sandtrooper member that may be in need. I am looking to trade for the following: C-9+ Tanus Spijek, J'Quille, Holo Luke, Ultra Denizens, or Ultra Ewok Glider. If anyone has any of these figures, e-mail me. I also have an extra Silver Clonetrooper C-9+ if anyone needs one as well. Otherwise, not much else at Wally World, Target, Kmart or TRU in all of the Inland Empire. If anyone else has what I am looking for and are willing to sell at cost plus shipping, drop me a line.”

Sandtrooper Rogue Jedi TJ, the Original Rogue Jedi reports:
Dateline: Scalper Alert “Hello Fellow Troopers, I am looking for a couple Star Wars figures and was hoping a fellow Trooper may be able to Help. I am currently Searching for Ephant Mon, the General Madine Wave, Admiral Ozzel, HoF Vader, Saga 12-inch Biker Scout and Ewoks, and Unleashed Mace, Luke Jedi, Obi Wan, Darth Sidious. I Have Plenty to trade or Would purchase at a Fair Price. I am also looking for Starcases. Northeast PA store reports are pretty dismal. Wal-Mart Has plenty of Saga Hoth Trooper (Guy Smiley Trooper) and Luke Hoth. Target had zip, TRU had a rack of POTJ Zutton, and Scalper Alert!!! Toy Works obviously had the Ephant Mon Wave, but after 2 Fresh cases put out in the Morning, no Ephant Mons? Amazing how this KB Employee (and I know who he is) only takes the harder to find figures in any toy line. That is ridiculous is my opinion. If You can help, help and please send me an e-mail. Thank you Ladies and Gents. MTFBWY ... Always.”

Many Time Consuming Hours, However a Labor of Love for the Amanaman:
Dan’s Diorama LandIn late 2002 General Jason was looking to add to the talent pool here at Sandtroopers. Searching through the forums he came across the work of me, Daniel Eversdyk, Amanaman Dan. I began working on various graphics and photographs for Sandtroopers and later joined the Staff. Another talent I bring to the table is my skill at constructing dioramas. After my work on Mos Eisley, I decided to throw my hand at ebay auctions. I drew up rough sketches of what I had in mind about six months prior to the start of construction. I wanted some help with this project so I recruited local help, a friend by the name of Troy Koestler. Many time consuming hours, however a labor of love for the Amanaman. One thing was for sure, many more will come and this section will be the beneficiary of these efforts. Whether we keep them in our own collections, or sell them online, they will all be featured here at Sandtroopers.com. Click Jabba or the button at the left to enter my crazy world of Star Wars visuals.

Unleashed Visual Guide Live:

Click above to enter the Guide

In 2002, when the line first premiered, it seemed not to spark much attention. Easily found at retail, Unleashed began with Wave 1 figures Wave 1: Boba & Jango Fett "Intensity": Nicknamed by collectors as "Crying Boba and his Daddy" Darth Maul "Fury:" Nicknamed by collectors as "Valet Dancer" Maul. Although Hasbro had explained beforehand what to expect from the Line, the initial public reaction in 2002 was, in its majority, a negative one. Used to well articulated sculpts recreating true situations from the films, collectors felt a bit surprised and disoriented when finally exposed to the extreme-artist interpretation of the figures and lack of articulation Unleashed offered. Despite the fact Darth Maul's sculpture reflected an actual stance found in Wushu Kung Fu, fans weren't too happy with the one foot twirled pose and spiral fire-like platform of the figure. The Line looked as if it was about to take a dive into an ocean of rejection, and it did. For sometime Unleashed started warming up the pegs ... Later the same year, after the release of Wave 2, the rejected Line took a turn for the better, and started to gain attention. Here for you is a complete to-date Visual Guide containing detailed pictures and reviews. More exciting figures, dramatically crafted await ahead of us and have been announced. Rest assured, each of them will be recorded, photographed and brought here as part of this Unleashed Visual Guide for your enjoyment.

Sandtrooper Darth-Dallas reports:
America’s TeamDateline: Queer Eye For the Dallas Cowboys Guy “Let's get one thing straight. I am absent from the Star Wars Community for one week and everyone is having delusions of grandeur! I admit Darth Vader was the first and the only one worthy of applying Darth to his name but I borrowed that a few years back and became Darth-Dallas. Dallas as in Dallas Cowboys, America's Team! I visit the site today and I find out that my boy Spice is now Darth Spice. To top it off there is now a Darth Vraider! Good God, see what a 3-13 season can do to ones head! Ok boys, stop typing, I was just messing with you. Welcome to the ’Darth Club!’ Seriously, the NFL released its schedule last week so Dad and I had to figure out when we were going to go to Dallas to see the Boys. We picked, November 15, 2004 Monday Night Football (Philadelphia at Dallas), I can't wait! Tomorrow night it's Atlanta Braves at the Marlins here in South Florida. All these games are killing my wallet. Sunday I take off with Holland America for a one week cruise! Lookout Puerto Rico! I should have just enough time to recover in a couple of weeks financially to get ready for the OTC line here in South Florida. Bring that line on baby! Well, I haven't found squat lately and I am sorry that you had to read about my life but hey, I have to read about Transformers, LotR, The Simpsons and all that other ’GAY’ stuff here at the finest Star Wars Site on the net so it's only fair! I do wish all the troops the best of luck this weekend! Be safe! Now a moment of silence for Pat Tillman and all the other Service men and women fighting each and every day for our freedom. RIP - Pat Tillman (27 years old, A Hero and Fallen Soldier!”
Dallas888@msn.com

Thanks for the kind words from one Darth to another. I wouldn't necessarily say the other hobbies swing you the other way, more like there is more to life than Star Wars! You just watch it down there in Puerto Rico, Sandtrooper Founding Father George Collazo is firmly set in the trenches! Big Salute to Patrick Tillman, proving the words that are used too often such as hero and courage are more valuable than the big money of the NFL. God Bless to the all the families that receive this terrible news. Remember Freedom isn't free, God Bless America.

Sandtrooper Dennis reports:
“I went to check out the stores today. Here's my report:

Target (Gurnee, IL): “had 1 ESB glass with X-wing pilot Luke along with TPM glasses with Darth Maul & ANH glasses with Ben. The rest were Jedi Padawan waves, Animated CW figs, & Ultra Jabbas & Obi-Wans.

Wal-Mart (Gurnee, IL): “had nothing (ed. note - this isn't entirely true; one Ultra Obi-Wan has been, and is, at this Wally World - Jason).

TRU (Gurnee, IL): “had 1 Holo Luke, 1 Rappertunie, 1 TIE Fighter Pilot, and 1 Orn Free Taa. They also had more Jedi 4-packs & more Red Leader X-Wings.

“It seems that the only SW products that Target & TRU have been getting are the exclusives. That's all for now. Later.”

Sandtrooper David in North Carolina reports:
Dateline: Disintegrate All Scalpers “Hey Troopers, David here in Hickory, NC. I went out yesterday and today just keeping up the usual rounds and I saw a few Yavin wave and the usual peg warmers. Target has 2 Darth Maul Collecters cups and some Clone Wars animated figs: Durge, Dooku, Obi-Wan, and Yoda. I picked one cup for Trooper Corporal Mike (SEMPER FI buddy), but I havent forgotten about the rest of the troops out there. Today I picked up 1 Red Leader X-wing and a very decent silver clone trooper. If anybody wants the trooper let me know (for trade or cost plus shipping). The TRU here still has some Silver Clones. If anybody needs one let me know and I will pick up a couple for you. If there is somebody out there who still needs one, let me know and maybe we can do some swapping and we could talk trades or just cost plus shipping, however you want to do it. I usually go out every other day to look and I travel at least an hour both ways to other cities so I keep my eyes peeled everywhere. Just let me know whether I can help anybody and MTFBWY!!! Until next time Troops, stay alert and stay focused, and please disintegrate all scalpers!!! Scalpers beware, I know who some of you are (we call them the ’Toy Mafia’ around here and my friends and I are slowly tracking them down for a truly brutal Sith Lord ’hit’) Isn't it fun? Sandtrooper Forcehunter - G.I. Joe Convention Recon Volunteer? reports:
?Sandtrooper Forcehunter reporting in from Jacksonville, Florida. Sandtroopers.com has done me a great service so now is the time I return the favor. As you may or may not know, the G.I.Joe Defender of Freedom Convention is being held this July 4th weekend. There will be three exclusive items available only to attendees: a figure two pack, a figure three pack, and an exclusive vehicle. All will be done in the vintage A Real American Hero molding and will have a paint scheme exclusively for this event. I am offering to pick these items up for any trooper that wants them and to keep these out of the hands of scalpers. The estimated cost for all three will be $95.40 (tax calculated in). That is thirty bucks each item if you only want one of the three. This may seem high, but they are only released for this event and have a limited production number in the neighborhood of 700-900 (actual number not yet released by Mastercollector, the host).

?If interested, here's what to do. I must have the payment before the Con. The best way to do this is to Western Union me the money by June 30. On the week of May 1st, I will start making weekly runs on Fridays and a final run on June the 30th. You must e-mail me by Thursday night (or if you wait to the last minute, June 28) to alert me of a transfer or I will not get it. I highly recommend using their website: www.westernunion.com Contact me for my personal info to complete the transfer via e-mail using the title: Sandtroopers Joe Con Premiums. I will not open up an e-mail with a new address without this title; it will be deleted. If you wish for references, my ebay user id is jeditransfan77. You may also wish to look at the Trader Feedback Thread on www.toynewsi.com for the user Forcehunter. There is also no guarantee that everyone who ordered one will get a set. These will be very popular and I will do what I can. I will make a list of who sends me money first. It will more than likely come down to first come first serve. Thanks Troops and see you on the flip side.? - Dave

Sandtrooper Jedi Dom in the Woods of Wisconsin reports:
“Hey Troops, the Red-Leader X-Wing was spotted at the local TRU in East Central Wisky. Passed on it. Of more interesting news, here's the latest on the Original Trilogy DVD:

’Disc Four will feature all new and exclusive bonus material. The centerpiece of the disc Empire of Dreams: The Story of the Star Wars Trilogy: This two-and-a-half hour documentary traces the evolution of the saga, from a low-budget labor-of-love space saga to the movie phenomenon that defied the odds and reinvented the rules. This comprehensive documentary features all new interviews with George Lucas and more than 40 members of the cast and crew from the original Trilogy, as well as a host of filmmakers and media personalities. Empire of Dreams includes some never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the three films. In the Episode III behind-the-scenes preview featurette, The Return of Darth Vader Lucas discusses how Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader and we get a first look at the new Vader costume for Episode III, and see how actors Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor prepared for the epic lightsaber battle between Anakin and Obi-Wan Kenobi. The Birth of the Lightsaber featurette takes a look at the origins and creation of “this elegant weapon from a more civilized age.” The Characters of Star Wars featurette takes an in-depth look at how all the classic characters developed, from original concept art to interviews with Lucas and the cast. For the entire story go to thedigitalbits.com.’

Sandtrooper Forcehunter reports:
Dateline: A Fan Who Works the Late Shift? “Greetings Troops. Members of my unit have reported finding Red Leader X-Wing in Jacksonville, FL. TRUs. Nothing else of interest on the Star Wars side. For you LotR collectors, RotK wave 2 has hit Wal-Marts in Jacksonville. This is where I have to ask a favor. I think that Faramir is short packed and I want to army-build him. If some Troopers find an extra Faramir in armor, I'll gladly buy it from you. Thanks Troops.

“After taking some time out to seek an affordable Pathfinder for my coming move to DC, I checked my Wal-Mart on a whim to see whether I couldn't get lucky like the rest of my unit in finding the latest RotK figures, and succsess! I found one Morgul Lord and 1 Merry. The Morgul Lord wasn't where it should be. A stock woman came by and I asked her whether she knew if they had anymore. She took a look on the shelf and said,
’Well, I know we had some in overstock and we ran out of room to put the latest case out.’ She reached up the top shelf and pulled two Morgul Lords. I was exstatic. My venture also yielded a Jabba (finally) and B'omarr Monk packs.

“I went back to ask her name so I could pass along a compliment her to her manager for wonderful service. I told her how us collectors who know what we want are snubbed by the answer:
’If it isn't on the peg, we don't have it.’ She told me that there was a guy who came every night and asked for her help in finding Star Wars figures and she would get cases out from the pallets or the back. A Helpful Ally, but possibly an Unwitting Scalper Accomplice? Every Night? It might be a fan who works the late shift and stops by on his way to work, but this does sound like scalper behavior and would explain why I have a hard time finding ANY SW figs there.”

Kane County Toy Fair: This weekend!
The Force will be with YouHey Troops, Jim from Federation Toys wanted to pass on information to those of you in the area to attend the Kane County Toy Show this weekend. I attended the show last spring and it was quite an event for a local show. I found more Star Wars figures than my wallet could handle, among many other things. Rest assured, there will be a strong Sandtrooper presence at the show as well. We'd like to encourage everyone to come out and help spread unity!

Area Report: Strength in Numbers
After coming up next door to nothing I decided to give the General a tour of Gurnee, IL to show him probably the worst den of scalps this side of the Mississippi. TRU outside Gurnee Mills was a bleak, barren mess of post Silver Clone depression. I just couldn?t believe they still had the Jedi 4-packs! If perhaps they had used their heads and promoted the Silver Clone the same way they did the R2, you wouldn?t have anything at all left in stock. TRU really dropped the ball on this one. I will mark the Silver Clone as the most disappointing of the Silver Exclusives. It was nice to see they had a good plan for a solid rebound this summer! The Wal-Mart in Gurnee had 1 Ultra Obi Wan Confrontation and a few Lightsabers. Target offered the Executor wave but a little too late, all that I found were Admiral Ozzels. I picked up a nice one for the next time I run into Michael Sheard. KB toys in Gurnee Mills had the re-issue Barriss, Aayla, Padawans etc. Plus a whole new shipment of $7.99 screen scenes. What puzzles me the most about collecting Star Wars is if you ask any clerk they will tell you the products don?t sell very well. Then how come there are never any of the new assortments in stock? With the increase nation wide in fuel, I was happy to add one more figure to my collection. Beats the hell outta coming home empty handed. Good luck to you great Sandtroopers in your searches. Move along, move along! Kick A#$ and take names!

Area Report - “Yes I Could in the Woods of Wisconsin”
After burning through six states and a forty-four hour experiment in sleep deprivation, Darth Spice and I regrouped for a Troopin’ toy run in N. Illinois and S. Wisconsin yesterday. Waukegan, IL Target came up empty except for four (Dooku, Mace, Asajj, and Anakin) Cartoon Network figures I needed and, for some entertainment, Midway Arcade Classics featuring 720 Degrees and “A Real American Hero” and “The Revenge of Cobra” on DVD. This Target also had a few of each Maul and Obi-Wan glasses. Big Kmart there had the stray Lando Sail Barge and many $3 clearance figures. Target in Kenosha, WI produced two more Cartoon Network figures (Obi-Wan and Durge, and thanks to a case of retail associate brain drift, I got two for the price of one!) and they had two Maul glasses. Kenosha KB Toy Works still had a Geonosian War Chamber pack that Spice needed for under $6, while I grabbed Series 2 new Garabage Pail Kids on the way out. Kenosha Big Kmart had three or four of each of the Yavin/Jabba's Palace wave and a special peg for $3 Jango Fetts; this store also had some of the newer TMNT (Toddler Turtles). We thought we may had run into Trooper Mat-Large on this run but he wasn't in the area. You can run but you can't hide. Scalpers, Beware; now there are two of us! United We Find, Troops!

Sandtrooper Tucson reports:
The Morning After“Just to let all the troops in Tucson, Arizona know that I stopped by the Whetmore Wal-Mart this morning on the way to work and found the new Madine, AT-ST Han, General Colt 45, Dengar, Bossk, and Ozzel. They also had the new wave of LOTR figures. I'm not really into these but I must say that the King of the Dead is quite impressive. Also, there will be the annual GM Productions toy show at the Rodeway Inn at Grant & I-10 Sunday, May 2nd. I'm out.”

Sandtrooper Tyler with Canada's ...

“Hey Troopers, another report here from the Near North in North Bay, Ontario, Canada. After hitting Wal-Mart every day for over a month they at last got a case of figures. I picked up all 12 from the Yavin and Jabba's Palace wave assortment. All were tri-logo. I kept a set for myself and one of the kids we have in foster care took the doubles. I hope this is a sign of good things to come but I'm beginning to feel like ’The Chad’ here and getting doubtful. At this rate we have only been getting a case per month and it seems they've skipped the Tatooine wave. I don't think we'll see that wave here but only time will tell. Take care troops. Over and out from the Great White.”

Wampa Cave“The jagged face of a huge ice wall sits gloomily in the dim twilight of a Hoth day. Luke hangs upside down, ankles frozen into icy stalactites, his extended arms within a foot of the snow floor. The Wampa creature is in the ice cave eating what appears to be carrion. The Morning After“Hey Troops! Made a small run yesterday afternoon. Didn?t find a whole lot, but TRU had remnants of the Yavin wave, and the new Red Leader X-Wing. Some of the re-carded figures, but mostly Hoth wave. Also, was able to grab the Cobra infantry 6 pack from the Valor vs. Venom, Joe series. Wal-Mart was empty as usual, KB had 2002 figs, and Kmart had a few Dutch Vanders hanging around. That?s it for this report Troops, keep up the good fight.”

Dateline: Faithful Troopers Have First Crack “Hello all. Well, like some of us, times can get tough and our beloved collections need to be sold. I would like no one other than the faithful Troopers of this site to have the first crack at the booty (pronounced ’boo - tay’). I have a ton of POTF2, POTJ, and Saga figures that I have not had time to put into a list yet. Let me know whether there is anything special you're looking for. I have some VERY recent waves on hand. I would prefer to sell a few at a time instead of one here and there. But here are a few things off the top of my head that I'm starting out with: Both animated figure waves $25. 12-inch Han and Tauntaun $30, 12-inch Darth Maul $10, 12-inch Luke Hoth $5, Hoth Stormtrooper $5. I should have a list going soon so let me know whether you're interested in seeing it and I'll put you on my e-mail list. Thanks everyone! God bless.

Mission Accomplished!!!
This is my apprentice, Darth SpiceThe General has arrived; it is Allentown no more.
He resides near the windy city, to assist Spice with the War.
The Dewback is being unloaded, the war room a mess.

That's why I say “Hey Man, Nice Shot”
With the Easter Holiday this past weekend, I took time to reflect on this great hobby of ours. For me, Easter is when my Star Wars collection began with Luke, Vader, 3-PO and R2. I’m sure my Mother wasn’t aiming to change my life forever. I found those four so great I had to have the whole collection. Going shopping was now music to my ears, stopping at Kmart before groceries could be so great. I hunted each one down, but back then it was a piece of cake. I still collect, but with a group of wonderful people who have my back. Scalpers can bend the cards, smash the bubbles, but one of you always reach out your hands. One helps out the other, gunning to take out the jag-bags who try to take the fun out of collecting. I’m not talking trash, enter the forums and hang around. Our friends at the Jawa have the exact same mission, only under a different garb. We will help you, and that you can bank on. Try to avoid guys like this who are looking for your ignorance. We call that a Power Sucka, guys like these should be avoided at all cost. If it sounds too good to be true, perhaps it is. Sandtroopers.com neither endorses nor authenticates any of the items featured here. Good luck to you great Troops in your searches. Kick A$% and take names!

Thanks to forum member Sandtrooper Pete Windu for this week's Power Sucka. Indeed Master Windu, what kind of auction is this?

Allentown Chase - End of the Line, Like Rippin' Up a Rag Doll:
Hi Troops! Here's the latest from a run to the north today in Whitehall, PA. I stopped in to Comic Masters in Whitehall Mall and found that the owner doesn't even carry any Star Wars items any more! What this store does offer is a load of G.I.Joe and Transformers new series and vintage comics and minibusts; this is one of the decent haunts in the Valley for Joe freaks. They had a Simpsons section but the figures there were all three to four series' back. I decided to hit Grape Street Toys R Us across the way and found they had reloaded, albeit with nothing anywhere near as effective as hollows. New to this store were four Red Leader X-Wing with rag doll droid and pilot Stephen Tyler, a case of compacted bubble Hall of Fame wave (unfortunately the Vader and Stormtrooper I would have bought were the only ones absent), six Unleashed Han Solo, and two or three cases of Ultra Jabba/Denizens/Jango/Obi cases. I asked whether there were any more clones to be had, and the answer was no. I noticed Transformers Hasbro Commemorative Dirge and reflected on paying $140 for the Takara Japanese Convention exclusive a couple years back; it was still worth it!

On to Lehigh Valley Mall where Suncoast now too had the same Ultra wave that was at TRU. Other than that there isn't much happening; both KBs (Lehigh Valley Mall and South Mall) have nothing new. I also found out today that # 14 in the Transformers Collection from Takara is a vintage remake of Hound. That's what I call “getting back to basics.” Now you finally have a toy you can pretend to project your holographic Star Wars figures with. BigBadToyStore has it up for pre-order for $33.95. Here's hoping # 15 in the series is either Mirage, Sunstreaker, Blitzwing, or a Dinobot like Grimlock who has marginally more intelligence than the scalpers in my area. I want to thank Troopette “What's Sandtroopers?” Dola for transporting El Generale despite the long distance and for putting up with a Level 5 Vegan. Thanks also to the Hardcore Troopers who stepped up to complete some fair and square trades, and even go so far as to hook up helmet-wearing brethren at cost plus shipping, United We Find!

Look, if you had one shot

Sandtrooper Tampa Bay James reports:
“Trooper James with a small toy run today in Tampa, Florida. I did manage to find a Dengar last week at the Target on 9th St in St. Pete but all the rest were gone. I also ordered 3 Silver Clones from TRU Online and got them on Saturday, they came in great shape, not mint but close. Today I went by the Wal-Mart on Dale Mabry in Carolwood and they had nothing except for 1 lightsaber. Kmart on Dale Mabry had the Captain Typho wave and some Obi-Wan and Mace Clone Wars with 1 Ultra Wampa. TRU on Dale Mabry had the new X-Wing and the cut out pilot and droid look real dumb. They had all the current Ultra figures and lots of the Aayla wave. Target on Dale Mabry and Gandy had Yoda and Padawans, Clone Cartoons minus Yoda and Clone, and the Maul and Obi-Wan cups. That's it for now. I will let you know if I find anything else.”

Sandtrooper Starfox reports:
From Arlen to MidlandDateline: Blink and You'll Miss it. Our Advice? Close Your Eyes! “Other news from Central Texas, Killeen that is. Okay, here we go ... Target still has Obi & Maul glasses, and a bunch of Animated figs waves 1 and 2, the Destroyer wave showed up Thursday and Friday, but went quickly. Wal-Mart is bone dry except for the 20 Zam Wesells from 2002 choking the pegs and the Jabba deluxe with the crushed bubbles. TRU actually had the new Red Leader X-Wing with the cardboard cut-outs (cheesy) and a bunch of the same pegwarmers from last year. They also had a bunch of old POTJ figs (Rebel Trooper, FX7) an Unleashed Han Solo, and the Ultra Deluxe Obi-wan Kamino Showdown. We did have the Silver Clone Troopers for a day for $4.99, but the cards were bent to heck or the bubbles were crushed beyond recognition, not a mint one in the bunch. I have given up on KB Toys, and in my first stop at Kmart in a few weeks, they actually had the Yavin wave, so I found a Tanus and a Holo Luke there. The HoF assortment showed up once and I blinked and missed it, oh well. Sorry it's been a while since I posted, but things have been hectic around here. I do want to give out a quick shout to Julian Betancourt for the great trade, because of Troopers like him and many other that I have met here, this site works for all of US, United we Find! That's all from Central Texas, Starfox signing out.”

One day the wind will come up, and you’ll come up empty again. And who̱ll be laughing then? You’ll come up empty again. So play the violins.Dateline: On the Ricochet “Hey Troops! Made a small run around Mentor, Ohio today. Went to TRU, and came up empty. They did have the new Red Leader X-Wing, but outta my budget right now. On my way back, I stopped off at Kmart, so I could get some milk. Much to my surprise, they actually had the Executor wave, along with remnants of the Yavin wave. Other than that, not much out there this week. Take care Troops.”

Sandtrooper Jedi Hawk reports:
Jedi Hawk’s Pro Scalper 4Dateline: Hunt 'em Down Like Mr. Heston “Central Texas Report: Well here goes the news from the humid land of Central Texas. I was surprised one morning last week, when I walked into my local Target to see none other than a case of the 2003 Repacks! Barriss, Aayla, Yoda and the kids were all staring back at me (from their golden cards) from pegs previously occupied by the illustrious Hoth Rebel Trooper (who is now just buried behind all the repacks). They had also put out a case of the Jabba's Palace wave, but someone had already gotten to the few good figs from that case. Luckily I am not in need of any of those figures. My TRU went through their supply of Silver Clones fairly quickly. The only problem: they were all bashed up. I went through the 2 cases that they had on Sunday and I was unable to find any that were not in some form of ’bubble dentedness.’ No Mint Clones. But they were all for sale at $4.99 ea. So I picked up the best two that I could find and slumped out of there. If anyone has an MOC ’Minty’ one they want to sell me for cost plus shipping, or, I have some stuff for trade, drop me a line. Also my TRU put out a case of the Han, Boba, and Yoda Unleashed wave. Like they needed that to clog the pegs. By the way, has anyone come across one of those Red Clones in the Unleashed line? I have been reading some reports that they may have shipped a variant out?

“Anyway, both of my Wal-Marts are full of older figures. One at least has 2004 product (wave 1 & 2), while the other has some nice dusty 2002 figures. I am not sure whether they will ever get that *$%# stuff out of there. So that about sums it up for last week. This weekend my TRU put out 4 of the new Red Leader X-Wing. Still not sure about that one. I think that the little cardboard pilot and driod are pretty lame. Just stick in a real droid Hasbro! The ship looks okay, but just the same mold as before. The Pilot figure is POTJ X-Wing Luke with a new head. Not too bad but not too good compared next to the new Dutch Vander. I am sure I will get one eventually, but I held off for the time being. Still have not seen any of the Target Glasses in my world. Well that sums up the latest news from this neck of the woods. Hunt'em down like Mr. Heston. I am also still looking for a Clone 3-pack with the red Trooper! Any help? Thanks!”
