Sandwatch Update: Kurt S. Adler Steinbach Star Wars Nutcrackers
Since the start of their successful business 1946 and after changing direction from exporting to importing, Kurt S. Adler, Inc. has been greatly associated with Christmas, not only in our country but worldwide as well. In the 1950's Christmas ornaments were first offered by the company, finding a welcoming audience in America. The rest is Holiday history.

Among the many products available, Kurt S. Adler has made it possible for famous German-based nutcracker maker Steinbach to offer a Series of Limited Edition Star Wars exclusive nutcracker ornaments that exhibit all the quality and attention to detail expected of its producers. These are unique and treasured collectibles that are sure to be handed down to future generations to come. Find out all about this Line and take a trip back into nutcracker history. Sandtrooper jmsm167 Reports: To the brink of tears!
“I don’t usually report store findings since I live in New York and by the time figures reach us they’ve been out everywhere else for a week or 2, but this one I had to share. Yesterday I called a Target in Newburgh, New York and gave them the DPCI # for the Order 66 2-packs and the man told me they were in the stockroom and if I came down he would have them pulled for me. So with my excitement I jumped in the truck and drove 40 minutes to Target. The man I spoke with is still at the service desk so he has me follow him to the stockroom after a good 15 minutes of him and two others stockers searching they find them and bring out a full case. Now the bad news – they scan a pack and bam! They're not to be sold until 4-8-07! Oops we can’t sell these to you sir you have to put them back or we’ll get in trouble. I explain how far I drove and blah, blah, blah, the girl feels bad so she calls a manager but still no sale. I did get a $10.00 gift card for my trouble though. I had a 6 2-packs in my hands and no sale. And that’s how you bring a 30-year-old man to the brink of tears!”

Sandtrooper dustrho Reports:
S.C.A.L.P. Weapons SupplierHey troopers! It's a very foggy and sticky day here in the Chicago suburbs, but I took the little trooper out with me and we stopped at Target in Oswego, IL. I'm glad we decided to make the trek out there, because I scored pretty big! I was walking down one of the main aisles and was stopped by a store employee. She asked if I needed any assistance, and I told her about my frustrations with never finding anything at that particular store.

She walked with me to the Star Wars section, found one of the new TAC figures, scanned it, and said there were two boxes in the back of the store. She went back there, brought them out, and there laying in my hands were those two minty fresh boxes. I opened them up and JACKPOT! Here's what I brought home with me: Galactic Marines (x4), Mustafar Lava Miner, Mace Windu, McQuarrie Stormtroopers (x2) and one more Airborne Trooper. I truly think the Galactic Marines are the best looking figures done yet, but that repainted McQuarrie Stormtrooper is sweet as well. I'd really like to see Hasbro come out with an entire case of nothing but McQuarrie styled figures.

I did also pick up a second Ambush on Ilum battle pack for only $13.98, which is a pretty good deal if you ask me. All in all it was a fantastic journey at this Target, and I'm so happy that I went out on a little hunt. Troopers, all you have to do is ask the store employees if there are any toys in the back, and they may just help you out. United We Find!

Force Unleashed: First Look
Force Unleahed: First LookThe most talked about Star Wars video game yet, Force Unleashed, has been looked at by ActionTrip.com. Of course their preview was a great read, but what's even better are the screenshots they've provided to go along with their article. The one shot with what appears to be a dark Jedi kneeling in front of Darth Vader blew me away! It's unfortunate that this game has been delayed, but I'd rather LucasArts push it back to make it as best of a game as humanly possible. Read more about this here.

One thing worth mentioning is that it will only work on Intel-based Macs and no on PowerPC caomputers. Read the full announcement here.

Battlefront III Exclusive for Xbox 360?
If you don't already own an Xbox 360, perhaps this little bit of news will help persuade you into buying one. The upcoming Star Wars Battlefront III by LucasArts may be exclusively sold on the Xbox 360 gaming console, so any Star Wars gamers who spent all that money on a Sony Playstation III may be out of luck. This hasn't been officially announced by LucasArts, but any possible news is good news to me. All I can say is that I'm glad I have an Xbox 360. Read the short news story here.

“Hey Troops, I'm back reporting for the first time since December 14. The Colorado Springs Wal-Mart and Toys R Us have finally broken their dry spell! Last week I picked up Saesee's starfighter at Toys R Us and today I found that Wally was stocking TAC Figures! They had Vader with coin album, and wave I minus the McQuarrie Stormtrooper. They also had the Treachery on Saleucami Battle Pack. The figure packages are smaller than I expected, but they still look totally awesome! Hasbro gets big thumbs up from me for the figures, vehicles, and packaging. They're really doing a great job so far this year! Try looking in different places at your local store. I have found numerous figures at the end of aisles and in different aisles than they are usually found. United We Find and May the Force be with you on all your hunts!”

Luck of the Sandtrooper!Hey Troopers, we've just received a report from Dustrho as he attended the St. Patricks Day parade in Naperville yesterday. One of the first signs of spring is the green Chicago River, warmer weather and an endless supply of green beer! I guess the motto think green really applies this weekend! The Midwest Garrision and Rebel Legion combined forces to put on quite a spectacular show for those who attended the parade. For those who couldn't, check out the summary along with several other photo galleries that have been added! We'd like to thank Chris Phelps and Rudy Grasha IV for their extra shots! United We Find.

Area Report: Clearance Aisle Warrior!
Make it count!Hey Troops, it’s been quite awhile since my last ground report but I’ve found some good luck in the clearance aisles of late. I’ve discovered Kmart may want to go back to the eighties slogan of “the Savings Place”! About a week ago I picked up a Jedi Temple assault for a mere $7 but yesterday I hit the same location in Zion where I found another set marked down to $3 and the collector cases were down to $2! For two figures, it makes a great starter set for new young collectors so I grabbed a few more for gifts or charity events. With all your searches to the stores make sure you hit the clearance aisles, you never know what you could find! Good luck to you Troops, United We Find!

Sandtrooper Master Frank Reports: The Droids we're Looking for?
The Droid we are looking for?“Master Frank checking in from the sunny Central Coast of California, Santa Cruz to be exact. Today the United States Postal Service replaced the mailbox outside my place of business with a new R2-D2 wrapped mailbox! Check out the photo of the box with the two USPS employees who delivered the astromech droid. This mailbox is part of the 30th anniversary of Star Wars stamp promotion.”

Sandtrooper Tim Reports:
“Just thought I'd let you know I hit the mother load tonight. Went to Target tonight and there were a couple of 30th anniversary figures on the peg. I took one and scanned it and it said there were more in the stock room so I figured I'd ask the guy in sporting goods. He scanned it for me and said "hang on I will be right back. He brought me the case. I all the ones I wanted and hung the rest up and kept the box. Also they had just put out a case of the ships there was a Hailfire Droid and the usual Vader Star fighter and in the very back of the shelf was 1 white Tie Fighter the only one in the case. Then there was only 1 of the coin collector sleeve with Vader # 1. So after spending over $100 bucks all is right with the world. Till the next wave! FYI...USE the DCPI numbers they have always worked for me.”

Shadow Trooper“All I have is a Kmart in my area that still hasn’t seen any TAC yet, well just have to try again tomorrow, but once again the mailman is not letting me down. New stuff arriving at the doorstep today, all to easy... I am a huge fan of sideshow gentle giant and Medicom products. The Obi-wan clone trooper face is not all that bad as many people have been talking about, I have enjoyed the portrayal of obi-wan in the clone armor ever since I first saw it on Cartoon network and I'm thankful it was produced in a non-cartoon statue. So here are some more photos of Medicom ROTS clone trooper (cool gray box, complements the black Stormtrooper and white Shadow Trooper boxes) and GG Obi-wan in clone armor. Happy hunting.”

“Greetings from the Florida panhandle, just wanted to chime in on the use of dpci #s for target. I swear by them & have always had good luck with employees getting me the item if it was in stock. Last night I scored a Darth Vader coin album & and the same employee brought out a new case of T.A.C. figures. I got a few of the ones I wanted and hung up the rest. More people should use this method if they haven’t. The worst that a target employee could tell you is no. What’s to lose?”

“Last Saturday at the Poughkeepsie Target I used the DCPI# trick and scored a Vader coin holder and 2 Galactic Marines 1 Mace Windu and 1 Airborne Trooper from wave 1 also some other sites have a number for the Order 66 figure these are not available until the end of the month, the basic figure cases are pack with 2 of every figure but only 1 McQuarrie concept trooper is one per case better yet the store clerk was nice enough to say that at the time 3/10/07 that there was 8 Vader coin albums available at the store and 204 basic figures in the stockroom 200 #2 through #8 and 4 #9’s McQuarrie concept troopers, just ask them to bring them from the back and be patient when you use the number. “I got this by way of a poster at SideshowFreaks.com. The Home Shopping Network will be having a SW collectibles showcase tonight at 10PM EST. (If you were channel-surfing at 4AM this morning, you might have caught it then.) I went to their website to see what they might be showing. There are Master Replicas FX, Limited Edition, and mini lightsabers, some 30th anniversary timepieces, and other items. Even a Studio Scale Millennium Falcon. I hear these shows can be pretty hilarious where you have hosts that aren't exactly experts about what they're selling. It might be worth a look.”

Sandtrooper Dead Hero Reports:
Da General!“Hi Troops, Dead Hero reporting in from northeast Illinois. LaGrange (Countryside/Hodgkins) Wal-Mart has been receiving a sketchy pattern of wave 8 and 9 figures, while Antioch Super Wal-Mart has the same, most of the final 2006 wave of figures and Unleashed Shadow Stormtroopers on the rear end cap. Kenosha, Wisconsin Wal-Mart came through big time with mass quantities of the final wave and waves 8 and 9, while Waukegan Target and Zion Kmart saw a glimpse of the TAC figures with just a couple on the pegs this past weekend. A price scan showed them in the stockroom, but, of course, I got the run-around with the team there stating that the figures were never scanned out and the status on the store scanner was an error. We know better, but hopefully other Targets and K-Marts especially will come through before the twenty-fifth. Thanks to trooper Jimmy for the recent hook-ups. Keep on troopin!”

Goes down Souf!“DarthPharaoh checking in from the A-T-L where things have gotten hot before summer has started. TAC figures have arrived! And, in good numbers. At this point the only stores with them on the pegs have been Kmart but Target has them in their stockrooms. From the way things have gone, they have a lot of it too. Nearly every Target around town has them and if you’re polite and friendly most will pull them from the back for you. Just remember, be nice! Sandtrooper dustrho Reporting In!
Jackpot!Hey troopers! I've had the absolute worst luck when it comes to finding new figures in stores lately, but today was my lucky as I scored big time at Target and Wal-Mart in Plainfield, IL. Now, it wasn't the ultimate discovery of coming across new T.A.C. figures, but everything you see in this gallery are figures I didn't have already (except the Scorch). I couldn't believe how many figures were lying there at Wal-Mart, but it was truly luck because there were only one of each of them on the pegs. There were a few of those Combat Engineer clone troopers, but I left those for others to pick up for the collections. I also found the newest wave of Galactic Heroes, and I'm really liking that Durge figure a lot. The level of detail is amazing! Lastly I found all those Titanium vehicles at Target. Talk about a great way to start off this gorgeous sunny day here in the Chicago suburbs. United We Find!

Force Unleashed Delayed:
Situation not Normal?!In a surprising announcement, LucasArts said the anticipated November 2007 release date would now be pushed back to Spring 2008. I think we will all be disappointed by this news, but I much rather have them hit this right to meet our expectations that to rush through this and have us all complain about it. I guess the word patience is key in this situation Troopers!

Sandtroopers: Truly becoming Legends!
We're not the ONLY Sandtroopers! The Saga Legends cardbacks have been showcased for us at Rebelscum and there is even a feature on where Hasbro goes to get a Sandtrooper to pose for the artwork on the card. It's really impressive to see them utilize the 501st Legion for these duties, buckets off to Mike Harrison (TD-1536) who is notorious for having one the most accurate costumes in the world!

Sandtrooper dustrho Reporting In!
Unleashed Battle PacksHey troopers! It's been a while since I've posted a store report where I actually found something, but today was my lucky day. Now, I didn't find a ton of things, but I did find some stuff I was hoping to add to my collection. This morning I found the new white vintage-styled TIE Fighter at Target in Plainfield (Route 59), and like always there wasn't a single action figure on the pegs there. Same with the Target in Oswego on Ogden Avenue, but I did stumble upon the four new Unleashed Battle Packs. I remember seeing photos of these from this year's Toy Fair in NYC, and I knew I would jump on these the second I saw them in person. The four packs include the following: Attack on Tantive IV, Commanders, Rebel Blockade Troopers and The Streets of Mos Eisley. To see photos of these Battle Packs click here. United We Find!
