Sandtrooper Bobafred Reports:
S.C.A.L.P. Demolition Expert, Columbus,OH“Bobafred chiming in from the Valley in So. Cal. Just wanted to give all the Troops a big what up! I know right about now every one seems to be gearing down for 4/2/05 weekend madness. I just wanted to give you guys a heads up on the Target $1.00 off coupon, I contacted Target Visa at 1-888-755-5856 inquiring about such a promo...had them take care of the leg work for me...as it turns out they referred me back to my local Target's as I confirmed with my local Manager's that on 4/2/05 only! Will all stores hold this coupon in hand for those who never received one? I am one of many Visa cardholders who will never receive it. So Troopers to make a long story short, hit them digits, and holler at your locals, to assure they don't drop the ball as they have already. I picked up all Episode III 12-inch and I must say that General Grievous and Palpatine are the chase after all exclusives. Wal-Mart has the best price at $18.86, while Target comes in at $19.99, and K-B's at 24.99. The 12-inch Anakin/Vader comes in at $48.86, but seems to be getting passed on already. Wishing you all the best on your hunt...Bobafred signing out!”

Sandtrooper Kevin Reports:
S.C.A.L.P. Ranger“Check out CNN.com for an article the amount of money uncle George has made. Also for any one finding figures early and not able to buy them. First ask to speak to the District Manager. It is bad business to pack the floor only to say ?sorry?. If that fails...hide them. Try lifting up the base deck in another isle. You could also try to take them to another area, say furniture and put them in a drawer. While I don't condone this type of behavior under normal circumstances, like when I am looking for something. When retailers do this it is only fair. Coming from a retailer myself. Good luck this weekend. If any one is in the Burlington, NJ area Saturday, I'll be the one with the red hair and the limp. I broke two toes last Thursday. So if you see me limping and getting run over please grab a Deluxe Vader and me a #11 Vader. That's all I want. And I'll grab some stuff for you.”

Exclusive Interview with Author Matt Stover
Matt StoverMatt Stover, who happens to be the author of the "Revenge of the Sith" novel (to be released on April 2nd), sat down in an exclusive interview with the folks at The Official Site, and talked about several different topics relating to the final movie in the Star Wars saga. Some of the topics discussed were tying together the original trilogy and the prequel trilogy, whether or not he wrote the book in conjunction with the final script to ROTS, and what he talked about with the big man himself, George Lucas. The Men Behind the Magic at Celebration III
CIIIILM Visual Effects guru's that bring to life the visual effects of Revenge of the Sith will be on hand in Indy to answer some questions and to show some of their own images from behind the scenes. Roger Guyett and John Knoll are very well known to Star Wars fans. Knoll earned Academy Award nominations for Episodes I and II, as well as for his ground-breaking work on Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Guyett's breakthroughs are visual effects wizardry in the films Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. For his visual effects work on Azkaban Guyett earned an Academy Award Nomination. He has been with ILM since 1994 and has worked on Casper, Dragonheart, and countless others. Make sure all of you "Tech Geeks," myself included, check these two out at CIII. Read the official announcement here.

My Thoughts: By the looks of it, it seems that the whole gang that works under Mr.Lucas will be on hand for autographs, demonstrations, parties, and everything else under the Tatooine Suns. Makes you think if the man himself "Darth Flanel" will make an appearence as well. How cool would that be!

Star Wars Wind Up Walkers: A Ride Into the Illicit
Wind Up Walkers - StormtrooperFor the collecting toy community, bootlegging is easily associated to almost anything illegitimately involved in the manufacturing of a non licensed toy. As such, the number of toy lines and characters that have been bootlegged is incredible.

On the Guide you are about to see, I suspend judgment and present without romanticizing the obviously illegal practice of intellectual property theft, Bootleg Wind Up Walkers as simple pieces of Star Wars memorabilia offered without a license. Without any discriminatory intentions, this is pure documentation for a special brand of hard-core fanatics and a special kind of merchandise, which in this case, sports a very peculiar style. Enjoy!

BBTS Shipping Policy Update: We've decided to cease using the USPS Parcel Select program after monitoring delivery times - the delivery times were not up to our expectations and our main concern is a satisfactory delivery time for all customers. Due to ever increasing shipping expenses and multiple rate increases from UPS over the past few years, we need to raise our flat rate shipping to $6.99 per order. All orders placed using the $6.99 rate will ship by either UPS Ground or USPS Priority Mail. Packages will on average arrive in 2 - 4 business days after we ship. This is an attractive delivery time for a reasonable shipping fee that is still one of the lowest in the industry. (All pre-orders placed in the past at the $4.99 & $5.99 rates will be honored at the $4.99 & $5.99 rate.)

Master Replicas: Darth Vader - A New Hope - F/X Saber. This very popular F/X saber is back in stock for $113.99. It comes with a display stand and full size saber blade. Many other Master Replicas items are in stock and all the new Star Wars items are available for pre-order as well.

Lord of the Rings: Two new gift packs have just arrived. The Pelennor Fields set includes the Mumakil Rider and Morannon Orc figures which are only available in this set. The Lothlorien Gift Pack has also arrived and contains the Haldir and Celeborn figures that are only available in this giftset.

Spiderman: A nice variety of new Spiderman items has arrived. Highlights include the Spider-Man Classic Villains set. Here is a chance to pick up all the short-packed chase figures from previous Classic waves at a fraction of the price. The set of 5 figures includes one each of: Green Goblin, Ultimate Rhino, Ultimate Lizard, Tail-Strike Scorpion, and Carnage. These sold for $15 to $25 each in the past and are now available for $9.99 to $10.99 each or $49.99 for the set of 5! The very popular Sinister Six boxed set is back in stock for $44.99. Spider-Man Classic Wave 12 sets of 6 are in stock for $64.99 and these other new items have also arrived: Stunt System Expansion Sets, Web Power Gloves & Mask, Motorized Webble Shooter, Floor Crawling Spider-Man and More!

WWE Classic Superstars: We've received Jakks WWE Classic Superstar figures from Series 3, 4, and 5. These waves contain tons of 80's and 90's wrestlers including: King Kong Bundy, Jake the Snake Roberts, Brutus the Barber Beefcake, Hacksaw Jum Duggan, Jimmy Superfly Snuka, The Million Dollar Man and More!

“Hey Troopers, I realize the big day is right around the corner but if you are out hunting you might want to look in a few places you might normally wouldn't. Today I found the new 12-inch Clone Trooper at Suncoast at Harlem Irving Plaza in Norridge. I snapped a front and back shot for S.C.A.L.P. Verivication. Hope any and all fellow Troopers will join some of the Midwest Garrison members at the Toys R Us store in Niles, Il this Friday night! Hope to see some of you there. March has been an exiting month at Cloud City. We are still in the process of developing the new website based on ASP.NET technology. We are also preparing for our journey to Star Wars Celebration 3 in Indianapolis, Indiana April 21-24, where we will be setting up a very large showcase of Star Wars toys from 1977-Present, all of which will be available for sale. Cloud City has just added over 150 new AFA graded products to the website. We also have several hundred ebay auctions posted right now. They include many true rarities such as an original double-telescoping Ben Kenobi with original card and bubble, an unproduced Admiral Screed, several rare displays, and many high grade items from Star Wars, G.I. Joe, and Transformers. We also plan to add about 200 additional AFA-graded products next week, as well as about 100 ungraded carded figures, boxed vehicles and playsets. We have also just acquired approx. 150 sealed G.I. Joe vehicles from 1987-1990 which we have submitted to AFA for grading. We are working hard to purchase several other Transformers and G.I. Joe collections with early 80's sealed products. Please check back often.

Coming Soon: A complete selection of Episode 3 merchandise will also go on sale this Saturday. Please check back at that time to purchase the full line of Revenge of the Sith toys for great prices. Our new website should be finished shortly and we promise the changes will be fantastic. Sandtrooper Darth25 Reports:
“Darth25 here from Central Wisconsin. I am in total agreement with Sand trooper Dan of the Northwood?s of Wisconsin. I recommend placing a blockade around the Kmart store in Wausau. The Wal-Mart stores in Point and Rapids should also be boycotted due to clerks who know nothing of Star Wars. Yesterday all 32 of the Episode III figures were on the store shelves at the Stevens Point store. Knowing that I would be buzzed at the checkout if I tried to purchase them, I flagged down a worker in the toy department and asked if these figures could be purchased today. He said sure, on I proceeded to load my cart with all 32. When I went to checkout, all scanned up as not for sale. The clerk calls back to toys and the same person from toys that I had just talked to, comes up, takes all of the figures back and says someone else must have put these out by mistake. Talk about morons on your team. On three other occasions in the past week I have called the store in Wisconsin Rapids to ask about the upcoming April 2nd release date and at what time the merchandise would be out for sale and also if they would have any of the Early Bird Coupons. I have been told the merchandise would be out at midnight, 5am and 7am, respectfully, and that no stores in our area would have the Early Bird Coupons. Which means I too will be at Target to spend my money.”

“Hey, just thought I would warn all of you who have pre-order or pending orders with Toyglobe.com- be careful! I had 2 separate pre-orders each for approximately 135.00. They charged my card which was no problem, but when I was able to pick the items up locally before they were removed, I canceled the orders. I even offered to pay a restock charge. It has been over 2 weeks now, no refund, no return emails, nothing! Just wanted to send out this warning that you may have a tough time getting refund if you are entitled to one. The weird thing is he sent some of my items, I don't get it? Anyways, sorry for the vent but I thought I?d give you fellow Troops a heads up.”

    Several Celebration III Updates
Celebration IIIWe are three weeks away from four days of nothing but Star Wars in Indianapolis. The official Celebration III site has announced more events that have been recently added to the table. Please check the links below for the official releases.

Celebration at Celebration III is SOLD OUT!
The masquerade party (if you want to dress up) will be hosted by Jay Laga'aia and he will take part with the crowd to vote on the best costume. The Mt. San Jacinto College Menifee Jazz Ensemble of California will open up the event and will also play our favorite Star Wars Themes. A Punk/Hard Rock band from my area of Massachusetts, Springfield to be exact, will also take the stage to rock the cantina. Pallet will be on hand for those who would like a little moshing on Tatooine.

    Fan Film Awards
Lucasfilm and AtomFilms have announced the 16 finalists for this year's Fan Film Awards. You can checkout all 16 of the submitted films here, and make sure you vote because every vote counts! Voting will end on April 5th, so hurry and pick the winner. The awards ceremony will be held on April 22nd and will be hosted by Warrick Davis.

    Two More MCs Announced
Tom Berg and Doug Steves take the stage once again at CIII. Both appeared at CII and were a blast for all. Tom Berg is a traffic reporter and morning show sidekick for WRTV Channel 6 and WZPL-FM (99.5) in Indianapolis. His easy-going and talkative manner, coupled with his profound love of all things Star Wars, make him an ideal host for the CIII stages. Doug Steves has worked for Wizards of the Coast, and he was often called upon to host many Gen Con gaming conventions With his growing knowledge of Star Wars material, it seems natural to blend these abilities together. He will be the main host for the Behind-the-Scenes stage, and will spend some time in the 500 Ballroom as well.

    Sandtrooper Dom Reports:
One of SoCal's Finest!“Hello fellow troopers. Just wanted to know if anyone had answers to a couple of the questions I am about to ask. It appears that there may be some confusion about certain exclusives and their release dates.

First, be aware that the Holographic Yoda will not be released during Midnight Madness. It will not be released until April 10. The only exclusive that will be released at Midnight will be the Wal-Mart exclusive gift pack. Target will have the Lava Vader the morning of April 2nd. My question is, does anyone know which figures will be released on April 2nd? For AOTC, they released the 1st 27 figures, with a few deluxe figs, a few vehicles, etc. Specifically, how many, or which of the individual 3 ? figures will be released?

Second, I am unable to make a trip out to Celebration III. Being in Southern California, it is just a bit too far. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to pick me up an exclusive Vader figure? I know this may be much to ask, however I will make this vow: If there is anyone who would be willing to send me one (I will pay cost and shipping of course), I will gladly reciprocate by picking up whatever exclusive figure that will be released at the Comic Con in San Diego this summer (to pay cost plus shipping of course). I am sure Darth Spice will vouch for me on this one. I know how hard it is for people to fly across country to pick up a figure that costs $10, but hey, there has to be someone who might be interested. Please send me an email. Good luck this weekend!”

    Twice bitten, NEVER going back!
A couple weeks ago I reported that our local K-Mart in the Wausau WI area had all the new ROTS figures and Deluxe sets hanging on the pegs, and I was left hanging at the register when I tried to check out. Since then all the stuff has been removed from the shelfs and pegs until today.

I stopped by the same K-Mart with my wife to look for some new G.I. Joes and low and behold I see a bunch of new ROTS stuff. This time there were no figures at all but they did have all the new 12 inch figures (including Ultimate Villain Anakin), Palm Talkers, and Lightsabers. I grabbed a 12 inch Grevious and threw it in the cart just to see what would happen at checkout. Well I got the shaft again! I knew it was a long shot but I was curious to see if the Employees at my local K-Mart were complete morons. They are! After having all the ROTS merchandise in the back room after the first screw up why would they put even more out on the floor?

I've had it with this K-Mart and I don't plan on spending a dime on ROTS toys in that store. I'm asking everybody in the vicinity to boy cot this K-Mart and we'll let them sit on all that merchandise for years to come. Now that would make a Sandtrooper happy!

On a happier note, it's finaly starting to warm up here in the Northwoods of Wisconsin just in time for the best toy release of the new Millenium. Revenge Of The Sith! And i'm doing my shopping at TARGET. Good luck in your neck of the woods!

    Think You Know It All?
Star Wars LEGOThe online version of Entertainment Weekly has three "Pop Culture" quizzes based on the Star Wars universe to test your knowledge of The Force. First you're asked five questions about Episodes IV-VI, then five questions about Episodes I-II, and then five more questions about spin-off television shows. There were a couple questions that you'll probably get incorrect, but overall the questions are not that difficult. It's great trivia to use with your friends who think they know everything there is to know about Star Wars. Take the three quizzes here, and read more Star Wars news on their site.

LEGO Star Wars Designer Diary #3
Star Wars LEGOGamespot.com has just released their LEGO Star Wars Designer Diary #3, which happens to be titled "Feel the Force." Jonathan Smith, Development Director for the game, reveals more of the quirky development process behind the endearing action platformer. He mentions, "We decide up front to go for a third-person perspective on the player characters to make the most of our planned character variety." He also mentions, "Focusing on our goals for 'a world full of rewards and surprises,' though, as well as the ability to 'play out movie scenes in your own way,' we do develop quite specifically the idea of 'free play,' which goes on to become one of our key original features and the source of our major technical challenges." One other great thing that was mentioned was the ability to drive LEGO vehicles! This looks like it will be a great Star Wars video game for all to play, even those who are not very much attracted to the world of LEGO. All-in-all it's a pretty cool little touch to the site, but what would be even better is if they had the toys out on shelves and pegs right now! Until then Troopers, United We Find!

    Sandtrooper Rogue Jedi TJ Reports:
Guy Smiley!“I am in need of help from one of the many Troops. I very much want a Target Exclusive Lava Vader, my dilemma is that I do not have a Target store near me and fear I may miss out on this one. If any of the Troops get lucky and can pick up an extra one please keep me in mind. I will throw in a couple extra bucks for the Troopers time. I just wish #1 that they would make enough for everyone to have one, and #2 I had a Target store near me.”

    Happy Easter
Hey Troopers, from the entire Staff of Sandtroopers.com to all of you and your entire families we wish you a very Happy Easter. For me Easter is one of my favorite Holidays due to the fact that over 27 years ago was the first morning I received my first Star Wars figures. My brother and I got Luke, Darth Vader, R2-D2 and C-3P0. Although I swindled him out of the Dark Lord and the Professor in the early months that followed, I could have never imagined my love for Star Wars could last all these years and decades later. I understand this isn't the reason we celebrate Easter, but some fond memories I'd like to share with you, again Happy Easter!

    Sandtrooper Mike Reports:
“Hey Troopers, I have been working at a fever pitch to try to construct my Clone Trooper Armor for Celebration III. It's one of those things that is a lot of work but when completed you feel so good. I snapped a front and couple of shots from the sides for your viewing pleasure. I'm glad I have a Darth Vader & Stormtrooper costume to fall back on in case I can't finish the armor! On the toy front the only thing I found this week was the Saga Trivial Pursuit Friday morning at the Miejers in Arlington Heights, IL!”

Impressive, most impressive. From one Darth to another Mike! That is the slickest helmet I have ever seen, great work!

    Two New Collections Added!
Jeff's CollectionWe have just finished adding two new collections to our Collections page. First up is Jeff Grant's collection. It appears that Jeff likes to keeps his figures in the cards, and you can tell that he's displayed them quite nicely. Two items that jump right out at you are the Interactive R2-D2 and the Star Wars: A New Hope poster.

Peter's CollectionNext up we have Peter's collection! Peter focuses much of his collecting attention toward large figures (12-inch) and ships, but he obviously collects other items. Two great pieces in his collection are the 12-inch vintage Darth Vader and Boba Fett figures, which look great displayed in his collection.

Check out everyone else's collections here. If you would like us to host pictures of your collections simply send us an email, and we'd be happy to make your own page for your collection.

Section Update: POTC Collection - Mission Accomplished!
Hey Troops, Sandwatch Action Figure Reviews have been updated. In the calm before the storm I have completed the review of the Post-OTC collection. Some of the rehashes were linked to the OTC releases due to the fact my mind didn't change about the figures in such a short amount of time. Some of these figures will be lucky to waste space in our 2005 images section. Although I do think it's rather low-class to kick out the same figure with different inserts and very subtle card changes. Do you agree? If so why don't you step inside and find out why Sandwatch Action Figure review is the most brutally honest review online. Feel free to offer your own feedback about the VOTC collection. Until then enter if you dare!

“For those in the South East London area - Woolworths in Addiscombe (current home town of Dave Prowse) are now selling Wave 2 ROTS figures. They had all 12 of them available today at ?5.99 each. Happy shopping Londoners! Just an observation, it looks like all Royal Guard figures in the UK are the Red ones (so far I've seen 3-4) and it's the blue cloaked Royal Guard which could most likely be the hard one to find over here.”

    Clone Wars: The End?
Clone Trooper CommanderThis past Monday was the first of five nights this week where we would be entertained by Genndy Tartakovsky's animated Star Wars micro-series known as Clone Wars. Each evening most of us spent twelve minutes with our eyes glued to our TV sets, watching the Jedi and Republic Army fighting against the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

Anakin and his smoking arm!Sadly, tonight was the final chapter of this cartoon series, but it ended in a great way because it leads right up to where Episode III begins (in the film). If you missed tonight's episode and you're a Hyperspace member you can view it here. If you did get a chance to see it stop over in our forums and share your feedback with the rest of the Troops here.

On a final note, when you sit back and think about what the future looks like for Star Wars fans, it could be a TV show just like this cartoon micro-series that keeps us all wanting more and more Star Wars. I would be ecstatic if George Lucas asked Tartakovsky to make a weekly 30-minute animated Star Wars show for TV, because these 25 chapters have impressd the hell out of me. So, if you're reading this Mr. Lucas, please bring Tartakovsky's talent back for more Star Wars action.

Pepsi and 7-Eleven Team Up for ROTS
Yoda on the cover of a Diet Pepsi box.Pepsi-Cola North America and 7-Eleven, Inc. have joined forces in an effort to make a lot of money off of the upcoming movie, Revenge of the Sith. Cases of Diet Pepsi will have Yoda plastered on them, and will be running an instant-win sweepstakes where you can win one of ten $100,000 grand prizes by playing three different ways: online, by phone, or by text messaging. Also, Yoda and Chewbacca will be in a TV commercial, where Yoda will use the Force to get himself a Pepsi, but of course there will be a bit of humor in the commercial to make it more interesting to watch. And lastly, 7-Eleven will have a special slurpee called "Darth Dew," which is basically Mountain Dew Pitch Black (last summer's popular limited-edition soda that combines Mountain Dew and black grape flavor) and will come in four different Episode III collectible 3-D cups with lids shaped like the head of Darth Vader. Sandtrooper Jimsjedi Reporting: Beat the System
JimsjediMore new figures at Wal-Mart, and this time I was able to purchase them. Thanks goes out to my Star Wars collecting buddy BosskMR (who still needs to join the forums). At the Westborough, MA location there were stocked pegs with all of the new figures, but to beat the system I brought up a preview figure, not to a checkout, but to the self checkout that various stores now have. I simply scanned the preview figure eight times, and was able to purchse them. I know there is only 1 week left, but to get a jump on these is better than nothing. The others I was able to purchase were Count Dooku, Mace, Greivious, Shaak Ti, Plo Koon, Yoda, Emperor Palpatine. Hope others can learn from this as well. Good luck!

    Sandtrooper Dom Reports: Got Padawan?
Anyone have a 12-inch Plo Koon?“Troopers, Help me out and we all walk away happy. Here's the situation: I purchased a 4-day child's badge for my daughter to attend CIII with me. Unfortunately, she didn't inform me of the dates of a play in which she will be performing. The dates are, you guessed it, April 21 - April 24. Needless to say, she won't be using the badge. So, if you wanted to bring a son or daughter with you to CIII, but didn't purchase a badge, here's your opportunity. The badge cost me $40.00, but maybe we could work something out. C'mon, troops, you're my only hope. P.S. I'm fairly certain that Darth Spice will vouch for my reputation.”

Desert Rat War Journal: Operation Numbskull
What the f@*$ ???What is the best way for retailers that don't know a "jack's rear end" about Star Wars merchandise not to create anymore mess and avoid early product spills? Well, the answer is simple: Take ALL Star Wars product back to the stock room ... and I mean ALL!

This is exactly what is going on at most retailers in my area, and according to reports coming in, it seems it is happening in many areas of the country.

It isn't anymore the I-think-you're-stupid answer we were getting when trying to purchase ROTS on the pegs: "Sir, Star Wars cannot be bought because it has been recalled" Now, in an attempt to avoid collectors claiming to buy early product and avoid further hassle, retailers such as Wal-Mart and Target have gone to an extreme and have made the entire Star Wars area totally disappear.

    Sandtrooper Jedi Master Pavo Reports:
“I today bought 8 wave 2 ROTS figures from a Woolworth Store in Streatham (South East London). I saw the cases in a cage of toys to be displayed, asked whether I could buy them and was told I could. I still thought that I would be prevented from doing so at the checkout, but no, they scanned through and I grinned all the way back home! These figures are quality! Lots were left there, but when I sent my wife to another Woolworth branch later in the day to try and buy some wave 1 figures, they refused to let her buy them and said she could only do so from April 2nd. I had bought the rest of wave 2 on ebay already. I wasn't passing up an opportunity! Also, bought tickets for two showings of ROTS in London's Leicester Square on the opening day. Man, what a start to our Easter break. It will be a day long remembered!”

Clone Wars, Chapter 23: Action Galore!
Last night?s episode of Clone Wars, Chapter 23, was one of the best Clone Wars episodes yet! It was filled with some of the best fighting scenes, from Mace Windu doing his E. Honda punching technique (from the old-time video game Street Fighter) on a bunch of Super Battle Droids, to Yoda riding his horse-like creature into a huge flock of Super Battle Droids with his lightsaber blazing, and Saesee Tiin leading a swarm of ARC-170 Fighters up into a space battle above Coruscant. Yes, there was the scene with Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi on the planet Nelvaan that was kind of slow, but overall this was an episode I had to watch several times because it was that good. If you?re a Hyperspace member and you happened to miss this episode you can view it here.

Star Wars Galaxies: Episode III Rage of the Wookiees Preview
TIE InterceptorGamespot.com has recently written a preview for the expansion pack Rage of the Wookiees, which is an addition to the online game, Star Wars Galaxies. This preview goes into great detail in regards to the new and improved spaceships you will encounter in Rage of the Wookiees. Several Imperial fighters have been modified for improved performance, such as Darth Vader?s TIE Advanced, the TIE Fighter, and the new TIE Interceptor (specifically designed for the Emperor?s Royal Guards and is painted crimson red in color). The Rebellion is sporting new vehicles in the game as well, such as the Z95, X-Wing , ARC-170, and lastly new Jedi Starfighter (as scene in Revenge of the Sith). We even get the chance to see General Grievous? spaceship, the Belbullab-22. For those Troopers out there who already have Star Wars Galaxies, this expansion pack looks like a must-have. This is expected to be released on May 5th, which is two weeks before the release of ROTS.

Several News Stories About Celebration III
Celebration IIISince we've been down for a short while we have had a few news stories relating to Celebration III sitting on the back burner, and here they are...

    Vendors at CIII

Some of the ones listed, and in no order are Brian's Toys, Burger King, Hasbro, Federation Toys Dark Horse, 3-Day Blinds, Gentle Giant Studios, Jakks Pacific, The Topps Company and many others. It seems like your whole one-stop Star Wars shopping center will be available for four days. Next Up for Lucasfilm: Star Wars on TV
Steve SansweetSteve Sansweet, Lucasfilm?s Director of Content Management and Fan Relations, recently told Now Playing Magazine that Lucasfilm is most certainly going to bring the Star Wars universe to television in the not so distant future. Sansweet was quoted by saying the following: "We are looking into all kinds of things for the future. We?re looking for television clearly: animation [and] we are looking into live action television.". Obviously this is great news to all Star Wars fans, because we've been curious to know what will happen after Revenge of the Sith comes out in theaters on May 19th. There were rumors about Star Wars coming to television, but just as I mentioned they were simply rumors and are now truly factual. Read the full story here.

The Dark Side of the Force Flows Through StarWars.com
New Look at StarWars.comThe web developers over at Lucasfilm must have been putting in extra hours at the office, because they have re-designed the look of the Official Site's front page in honor of Revenge of the Sith. The background is primarily black and red in color with Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi dueling with their lightsabers on the fiery lava planet of Mustafar, and in the foreground we have several rotating images of Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Emperor Palpatine, Darth Vader, General Grievous, and many more. You can now download ROTS desktop wallpaper and AOL Buddy Icons, learn more about the characters and planets in ROTS, go behind the scenes of ROTS, and even view the pictures in the ROTS Gallery. The main chunk of the Star Wars website hasn't changed, but just the front page and pages relating to ROTS. Go to the Official Site to see the new look for yourself, and cast your vote over in our forums if you like the new look or if you hate it.

PLEASE NOTE: You must have the latest version of Macromedia Flash installed on your computer in order to navigate throughout the main Star Wars front page.

Reactions Toward Chapter 21 of Clone Wars
Anakin Becoming a JediLast night millions of Star Wars fans had their eyes and ears glued to their TVs, waiting to watch the highly anticipated 21st chapter of the animated Clone Wars on Cartoon Network. I didn't watch it live because I wasn't home, but it certainly was recorded by my trusty Tivo box. The second I made it home I turned on my TV, brought up the Tivo menu and started up Chapter 21.

General GrievousRight off the bat you're on board one of the Republic Gunships, this time it resembles an old World War II bomber with that shark's grin on the front of it, and the heroic ARC Troopers are prepping up for a major battle with General Grievous. What is their mission? Their mission is to rescue all the Jedi who haven't already been slaughtered by General Grievous. Several Jedi and a few ARC Troopers died on the battle field, but that wasn't going to put a damper on their rescue mission.

C-3PO Goes Gold! The rest of Chapter 21 seemed a little weak to me, but now that these episodes are twelve minutes long Genndy Tartakovsky and his team of artists don't have to cram so much action in each episode just to make it a successful show. We learn about Anakin's encounter with the tree on what looks to be Dagobah, just as Luke Skywalker had his encounter with the cave in the Empire Srikes Back. We also get to see C-3PO for the very first time in his gold-plated body, but I think Tartakovsky should have made that scene a little serious than what we saw last night. We witnessed Anakin and Padme's love for each other grow stronger, and best of all we saw Anakin become a Jedi Knight of the Republic.

Anakin speaking with Obi-WanIf you happened to miss last night's episode and you're a Hyperspace member you can view it here. If you did get a chance to see it stop over in our forums and share your feedback with the rest of the Troops here. And as a reminder do not forget that Chapter 22 will air tonight at 7:00pm (ET) on the Cartoon Network.

Dewback Patrol: Wizard World Long Beach - Coastal Espionage
Ah Wizard World, that familar old paper smell of comic books in the air. Anyway, RJP and I went to Wizard World LA, located in Long Beach. There we saw various artists, three of which are Star Wars artists. The artists were the things that really stole the show. You can tell they love their work and the fans. There were no Star Wars guest appearances though, probably because of the upcoming C3. We also got a free tour of a WW2 ship out of it, but there really wasn?t too much as far as Show Exclusives are concerned. If you?d like to saddle up and check out what you missed, by all means let?s ride!

    Sandtrooper Mike Reports:
“Hey Troopers, chalk one up for the good guys, I ordered the Ultimate 12-inch Anakin on Friday at Toys R Us.com and it showed up at my door today! I snapped a front and back shot for S.C.A.L.P. verification. I hear they have already yanked the plug and are now holding these until April 2nd with the rest of the world. I see today they have some RotS figures and the ARC-170 listed in stock, maybe these will slip through their fingers too. Good luck Troops.”

Sandtrooper Jimsjedi Reports: 30 days and Counting!
Jimsjedi“That?s right only 30 days left until Celebration 3 rolls into Indianapolis for another Star Wars convention. I, along with you have been counting down the days since I ordered my badge, hotel, and airfare back in September. Yesterday marked the first day of spring and here in New England it?s been one rough winter. In my area of Massachusetts we have had over 105 inches of snow this winter season. I am so sick of shoveling it, driving in it, and even looking at it. CIII has been my motivation through this, not to mention the championships of the Red Sox and the Patriots. Sorry, I just had to say it once again.

Now on to CIII. How are you going to spend all of that hard earned money you have been saving up? Are you going to look for all of the older products or just focus on the new stuff? Will you spend it all on 40+ celebrities that will be on hand signing autographs? Or will you drink it all away in the endless party atmosphere of Indianapolis? As you all head to and from Indy, try to capture your experience on what is was like for you, your family or your friends. Were you treated well? Were the lines frustrating? Were you able to get all of the CIII exclusives? Did you miss me buying the first rounds? I along with the other staff members here will be documenting our experiences of this event and would like to view yours as well. So, when you find time on that long car ride, or flight home try to capture what your life was like for the time spent in Indianapolis and send it in to us here. Thanks, and I hope to meet all of the Troops at CIII.”

New ROTS Deluxe Items at Hasbro!
New ROTS Items at Hasbro!POSSIBLE SPOILER WARNING: Hasbro has just released new images of their Revenge of the Sith deluxe lineup, and I was blown away at how cool some of these are. The items that were released today were the following: Yoda on Can-Cell, Darth Vader on Operating Table, Clone Trooper with Winged Jet Backpack, and the Vulture Droid. The best of these has got to be Darth Vader on Operating Table. From the looks of it, you get to be the surgeon by applying the chest place, feet (if you look closely enough he doesn't have any feet), his right gauntlet, and of course his infamous helmet! To see all the incredible images click here, and be sure to talk about these new items over in our forums.

Four weeks and counting, we still need your help.
We are now at four weeks and counting until Celebration III. That is why I am again reminding everyone that we still need your help. Celebration III is just one month away and we still need many figures to populate the Death Star dioramas. If you will please again read what Frank D. (niubniub) and I have to ask of you, you will see we are still in dire need. If you can help out some fellow troopers to make this the best diorama scene ever please do so. We cannot do this without the generosity of fellow troopers like you. Thank you with all of your generosity and we will see you at Celebration III.

    Edible Sith
Today I made a stop into K-Mart and noticed in the grocery side that they stocked lots of editable Sith items. On an end cap I saw the Revenge of the Sith cereal with two box covers. One was Yoda and the other Darth Vader. Above that they had the Lava Berry Burst Pop Tarts with Darth Vader on the box. And on top of that was the Sith Fruit Snacks. All three of theses items are two for $5.00.

In the cereal aisle I saw many different cereal boxes with Star Wars printed on them. Some had Jedi Mind Games, Light-Up Lightsaber Spoon, Free Episode 1 DVD, and more. Also found were Kudos, which have box covers from all six Star Wars movies, Rice Krispies, Pop Tarts, and more. So it looks like the edible Star Wars items are now hitting stores with great Force.

    Republic Commando: Reviewed Again
Republic CommandoRepublic Commando, one of the hottest Star Wars games to ever make it to a gaming console, has been reviewed by another online source, this time by The Electric New Paper. The author of this review, Ian Tan, gave the game a good 8/10 score, but from the tone in his writing you can tell he's not much of a Star Wars fan. That's good though, because we're able to read a very unbiased review of the game. He believes this will be an incredible game for novices, but could be rather boring for advanced gamers. Star Wars DVDs on Sale
Clone Wars, Volume II noticed in the Sunday ads of our Chicago Tribune today that there are a few Star Wars DVDs on sale. The first DVD I noticed that was on sale is the animated Clone Wars, Volume 1 DVD, which will be available this coming Tuesday and will only cost $12.99 at Best Buy. This DVD contains the first twenty chapters, and will also include a sneak peek at Revenge of the Sith.

The Phantom MenaceCircuit City has both The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Cloneson sale for only $11.99. Most of us probably already own TPM and AOTC on DVD, but for those who don't own it already them those are pretty good prices.

    Sandtrooper Stan Reports:
“In response to the story posted earlier, our toy dept. employees are being extremely tight-lipped about those days. Our store has only gotten 6-7 cases of figures in the last year because our store manager is very vocal about not liking Star Wars. We usually have the spaces allotted for the figures but it's just sitting there empty. I usually have to go to other stores in our area to get figures. We are getting 11 pallets of Star Wars toys, some are in already. I've also been able to find out that we'll have someone in a Vader costume on hand both days in the photo area to do pictures with the kids. If it's anything like the Spider-Man promo we had like that, it'll be someone in a pathetic Halloween costume but we can hope I guess.”

The Pride of Mentor, Ohio!“Hey Troops! My Wife was at our local Wally World last night, and found the first wave of EPIII figures. Of course, being at home, I was excited to here this. Apparently, as she was checking out, the cashier and a manger wouldn't allow her to purchase the new figures. They told my Wife they were recalled, and gave my Wife a hard time when she asked why they would be put out on the store floor. I want to drop a thermal detonator in the middle of the place. The local Mentor Wal-mart is worthless any more. Anyway, here's a list of the figures they had. 2 Anakin, 2 Obi-wan, Yoda, R2, Vader, Chewy, Tarful, and 2 others I cant remember. Good luck troops. They are coming.”

Star Wars in the Third Dimension
George LucasGeorge Lucas told people at the Las Vegas convention, ShoWest, yesterday that he wants to re-release his all of his Star Wars films in 3-D, beginning in the year 2007. He would release one film in 3-D each year, until all six movies were released in that 3-D format. I can't wait to see "A New Hope" in 3-D, with that massive Star Destroyer chasing the Tantive IV just about Tatooine. Read more about this here.

    Shafted in the Northwoods:
Sandtrooper Dan here to let everyone in my area of Wausau, Wisconsin know that K-Mart does have the new ROTS figures hanging on the pegs already, but don't attempt to buy them. I tried and got the Hasbro SHAFT! Why are these K-Marts doing this to us? Is it a feeble attempt by Hasbro to get us excited only to leave us hanging at the register? I have reason to suspect that somebody in the industry isn't playing with a full deck. Whether it be the big wigs at Hasbro or K-Mart, somebody is screwing up, and I don't like it.

Oh I will wait, and I will be buying them on April 2nd, and I suppose it was kinda cool to get an early look at the new stuff in person, but I certainly don't like having to leave it all behind for another day. Kaman retailers, get your acts together! That's all from the Northwoods of Wisconsin, good luck in your neck of the woods.

Things are not always what they seem!“Just wanted to let you know that on Saturday April 2nd and Sunday April 3rd selected Wal-Mart stores will be unveiling the new figures with a large bash under the Tent! Each selected Wal-Mart (400 in all) will feature a 30 x 60 tent in the parking lot to display and sell all the new figures and merchandise. Tent opens when the store does so check your local store hours. If your store has a large display near the entryway that reads Come celebrate the Star Wars saga with Wal-Mart April 2nd and 3rd then you are in luck. So far our local SoCal Wal-Mart has said there are no special promotions or flyers to be handed out but they'll let me know if they do get more information or someting new in for the event. Wal-Mart back slaps those who try to buy Sith.
This morning I stopped in at Wal-Mart to find Collection 1 Wave 2 of basic Sith action figures (Tarfful, Yoda, Obi-Wan, and Anakin) and the Electronic Lightsaber assortment (Yoda, Obi-Wan, and Anakin) on the shelf along with the Force Battlers. I thought I would try to beat the system knowing that the store would not sell me the items. I brought a Sneak Preview figure up to the register with me and placed it in front of the new figs. It rang up with no problem and the other figures would not ring up. I knew this was going to happen. So I told the cashier just to scan the figure that rang up. She was going to but the register said NOT FOR SALE. She called for help and at the end the manager said sorry the items are not for sale until April 2, 2005. The items were once again taken from me. So now at this point I have decided to stop looking for any more early scores of Sith Items since it seems that all stores and their computer systems have locked out the sale of all Sith items until April 2, 2005. Just have to wait fifteen more days until Star Wars fans run rampant at their store of choice.

This Yoda Has Something to Tell You
Talking YodaHasbro has just announced a new interactive toy for their Episode III product line, and the newest addition is the Call Upon Yoda! figure. This is a similar toy to the one that was released when the Saga and OTC Talking Yodas were out in stores, but this one has many more features. This Yoda says more than 500 different phrases, and has activities such as storytelling, trivia and wisdom. He's 12" inches in height, and has many animated features including eyes, ears, eyelids and mouth. This Yoda is the closest thing to the real deal. I owned the original Talking Yoda figure, but was unimpressed with it and traded it away, but this new Yoda seems to be such a huge improvement that might just have to pick up one for myself.

Force of the Bay: Itchy Trigger Finger, Hot Concussion Cannon
Hey Troopers, with the days dwindling down until all Star Wars hell literally breaks loose, I thought I would do some last minute patrol on the bay. This could be a good time to go shopping; perhaps everyone is saving for the Celebration. This could make it easy to swoop in for the kill. There isn?t much time left if you are planning to suit up, if you?re going to die, die with your boots on. I thought it would be hot in the armor, these guys must really be nuts to go indoors with these outfits! I see much pain in their future, suffering. There is just no limit to the sweet deals that are one after another. Like anything in life you must exercise caution. You could find a way to replicate those items you thought you could never afford. At least this guy is honest and is up front about his motives, there are some who are not so kind. Sometimes when you think you got number one, it can really be number two. I found some examples of fine craftsmanship, or the guy who took care of his things much better than you did. Another favorite S.C.A.L.P. Tactic is to find a target days ahead, and if it?s within reason with seconds to go, fire away Trooper! I have so little money and so many things to completely blow my budget to hell. Think about that one on your next company golf outing! Something tells me the Droids I?m looking for are not in there. Remember Sandtroopers.com neither endorses nor authenticates any of the items featured here. Good luck to you Troopers in your searches, Kick A#$ and take names!

Although the characters are definitely well rendered in their plastic incarnations, this Wave offers a tad more. A bit of frustration, a mini surprise and a bit of intrigue! Read all about it and see the detailed pictures. An all new Unleashed update is up. Enjoy!

    Sandtrooper Starfox Reports:
Bleeds Armor“Finally some ROTS news from Central Texas! The Wal-Mart in Killeen finally broke down and broke the street date for new stuff. This morning my eyes sparkled as I was dazzled by all of the RotS stuff hanging around! There were pegs full of basic figures to include: Plo Koon, Obi-Wan, R2-D2, Tarful, Chewbacca, Super Battle Droid, etc. Also available were the Battling figures, Vader, Obi-Wan, Grievous & Anakin and these were very sweet looking! Also available were the new lightsabers. All in all a very nice and palatable find, but they were missing the Unleashed figures, but that's because there was over 15 Pilot Luke's Unleashed choking the pegs. All the other local stores are almost bare, with Target having basic & cartoon figures on clearance, K-Mart still wanting $7+ per basic fig, TRU has some of the POTC Cantina wave left and a lot of old SAGA still hanging around. That's all the news from Central Texas, Starfox signing off...”

S.C.A.L.P. Desert Recon“I was just wondering if anyone out there knows what?s going on with the guys at Kebco Toys? I had joined their one on every figure club, and things were good at first. But then in December I had an invoice for 13 figures which have been paid for (shipping included) and they never even changed the status. They still show on my acct as pending. I've been sending numerous emails only to never get a reply, and when I try calling the phone number on their site it rings twice then disconnects. Anyone else out there been having a problem with these guys or at least heard from then recently? I'll never order from them again even if I do ever get my figures that I paid for.”

    Sandtrooper Jedimaster-C Reports:
“One of our Wal-Mart stores in Huntsville Alabama out some RotS figures and role-play Lightsabers .I was psyched but then I looked at them and though ummmmm no. The only one liked and purchased without incident was the Royal Guard. The one that sports a cloth cloak. Where was this guy back in 1998 when Hasbro made their non-moveable figure? That Royal card as well the blue one from the PotJ line didn't was like a statue. I went to a Kmart and found the deluxe figures. I was really interested in the Anakin-Vader set. Again, I took it up to the register only to have it come up Item not for sale. Spice, how did you get around the red tape with the Boga and the other stuff you found? I went to KB later and talked to a lady that I occasionally talk to and she told me that stores that put out this stuff early hurt themselves. If they sell the items early they won't get any new freight for a while. That?s about it.”
    c-ryan@mchsi.com

Chad, I purchased my items on Saturday before they realized they made a mistake. They didn't stop selling the merchandise until Sunday. I reported earlier I passed, but after not finding jack at my other K-mart stores I gave in and did score the Boga and Obi, and BARC Trooper w/ Speeder!

Celebration III Diorama help - Part 2
All of you know by now that at Celebration III the Diorama area has the theme of Death Star. You cannot have an impressive diorama without the figures to populate it with. That is why I am again reminding everyone that we need your help. Celebration III is just around the corner and we hardly have any figures to populate the Death Star dioramas with. If you will please again read what Frank D. (niubniub) and I have to ask of you, you will see we are still in need. If you can help out some fellow troopers to make this the best diorama scene ever please do so. We cannot do this without the generosity of fellow troopers like you. Thank you with all of your generosity and we will see you at Celebration III.

Your Reaction to the George Lucas Interview on "60 Minutes"
Last night CBS had an exclusive interview with George Lucas on their show "60 Minutes," and I can only imagine how many millions of Star Wars fans tuned into that particular show. Hopefully you got the chance of seeing it, because it was much better than I was expexting.

Lucas showed us many new images of Revenge of the Sith, and one part in particular that stands out is how they incoprated CGI into the dueling scene between Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. If you missed the show last night you'll never know where they did this, but in real time it only lasts two seconds at most.

Something else worth mentioning (if you did miss it), was that Lucas says there will never be an Episode VII film. There might not be an Episode VII film produced and directed by HIM, but it doesn't mean someone other than himself could take over the reigns and make Episodes VII through VIX. If Lucas keeps his promise that ROTS will be the final Star Wars movie ever produced, he will definitely be going out with a bang!

Sandwatch TV Review: Clone Wars Season I, Chapter 3
The battle continues on the ground between the Clone Army and the Separatist Forces. We really get a close look at the ARC Trooper and their ability to lead the somewhat brainless Clones to victory. While this Episode didn't focus too much on core characters and further backstory, I'd just as soon see a lot of shooting and things exploding, Schwartzenegger made a twenty year career of it and look where he's at! Continue to tune in for the continued summary of the Clone Wars mini-series that will be out on DVD.

George Lucas to Appear on "60 Minutes" TONIGHT!
Geoge LucasGeorge Lucas will be on 60 Minutes later this very hour, and will talk about his final movie Revenge of the Sith. It is rumored that his interview will be on near the end of the show, so you should have plenty of time to either tape it or record it on your Tivo. Lucas was quoted at saying, "[The film] is much more dark... more emotional. It's much more of a tragedy. My feeling is that it will probably be a PG-13, so it will be the first 'Star Wars' that's a PG-13." Read the full scoop here, and when you're finished watching this feel free to express your opinions over in this thread.

Where did you find the deluxe figures and do you think Hasbro will still make them even after the April 3rd release? K-Mart is full of Sith!
Hey troopers! If you were lucky and were able to purchase any ROTS at K-Mart this weekend consider yourself extremely lucky. This morning I stopped in at a local K-Mart to pick up items for fellow troopers both Collection 1 and Collection 2 of the figures, Deluxe, Unleashed, etc. I have yet to get the Collection 2 wave of figures for myself so I was happy to be finding and getting them today. I loaded up the cart for those who asked for help. When I got to the register the figures would not ring up. This is the same K-Mart that I purchased the figures and other items I picked up earlier this weekend. So the cashier called the manager and she tried to ring the figures up. The register said ?Item Not For Sale? and the manager called the toys person. She said they should ring up. After a few minutes the toy person came back up and said the boxes are marked not to be on the shelf earlier than April 2, 2005. They took the figures away from me and I could not make any purchase. The manager told the toy person to remove all Star Wars items off the shelf. The Royal Guard in the Collection 2 was the Red Version the first time I have seen this. All the images that I have seen have been the Blue version. After leaving the store in disgust I went to three other K-Mart stores. The same thing happened at two of the K-Marts and the other did not even have anything. So it looks like the K-Mart corporate big wigs have put a stop to the early sale of ROTS items.

    Obi-Wan Gets "Cloned"
Obi-Wan Gets Not in the Star Wars Universe though. He just can't get away from this theme. Ewan McGregor the actor who portrays Obi-Wan Kenobi has another film due out on July 22nd, just 2 months after The Return of the Sith is released. His new movie is called "The Island" which is directed by Michael Bay and is from Dreamwork Films. This movie though is no trip in a tropical paradise. McGregor plays 2 characters in this movie that is based around "Human Clonning" His character Lincoln Six-Echo is a resident of a carefully controlled enviroment. He soon discovers that everything he knows is a lie, and that he is actually a human clone that will be used as "spare" parts for his human counterpart (the other character he plays in the movie) Tom Lincoln, who is a highly regarded boat designer who is sick and is dying from liver disease. Lincoln Six-Echo escapes this slaughter house with a fellow cloner Jordan Two-Delta, played by the ever sexy Scarlett Johansson. Both race for their lives to literally meet there makers face to face. The cast will also include Steve Buscemi, Djimon Hounsou, Sean Bean, and Michael Clark Duncan. To learn more about this upcoming movie click here.

    Sandtrooper Jimsjedi Reporting!
JimsjediI too have finally found some new ROTS figures at my local Wal-Mart-Oxford, MA. These however were not on the pegs. It's still winter in New England so the garden center in Wal-Mart is being used as a stockroom, as well as an area for items to be sold. There was a whole section of new Star Wars toys on atleast 2 skids way in the corner. I made my way to these with a crew of workers out there as well. I managed to open the boxes to get 10 new figures before stockers were nearby. I wanted to get in and out with no one noticing me and I did. I hope to stop back in tomorrow to get some more. The all rang in at $5.24 each. The ones I was able to get my hands on were: Obi Wan, Chancellor Palpatine, Bail Organa, Plo Koon, C-3P0, Padme', Kit Fisto, Mon Mothma, Tarfful, and Yoda.

Well Troops, I made a few runs today, and unfortunately I didn't find a single new toy from the Revenge of the Sith line. I stopped at a local Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Toys 'R Us and even Target, and there wasn't anything new out. It's really frustrating hearing so many people finding new ROTS items, but there's NOTHING out here. Oh well, I'll just keep trying I suppose.

Congratulations to all those loyal Troops who were much luckier than me. Feel free to send in all your reports and photos of your findings to us. We'd be happy to share your stories here on our front page.

Staff Member and Forum Moderator Boba Binks Reports:
Hey fellow troopers. Just wanted to share (make you all drool about) some more Sith items that I picked up this morning at K-Mart and Wal-Mart. Since I had a great find last night I thought I would try another K-Mart. Glad I did. I picked up the Boga with Obi-Wan Kenobi, BARC Speeder with Trooper, Force Battlers wave 1 (Darth Vader, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, & General Grievous.) Then I made a quick stop at Wal-Mart and picked up the second series of Jedi Force. I got Anakin Skywalker and Yoda. Let me say that I spent a lot of money on Star Wars toys in the past 24-hours. I am now wondering how much more will be spent on April 2, 2005 when the rest of the Sith comes out. Lets just say it will put a hurt on your wallet or purse. Happy Hunting.

Not old Enough to go In, but YOU could Win
Star Wars has turned to the Dark side once again, and this time it's gambling in Star Wars scratchers! There are twelve in all, each bearing an image of Episode III. I could not find any photos of the sratchers but I know one will be Anakin and Obi-Wan dueling it out. Each scratcher is two dollars and one lucky person will get up to $10,000 dollars in winnings. Too bad they are only exclusive to California. While I am not old enough to by these, they are still something cool to look at. These scatchers will be available in two weeks and like I said, exclusive to California. You can find them at any local Liquor Store, but kids ask Mom and Dad permission before you go in! So, are you feeling lucky Troopers?

    Sandtrooper Boba Binks Reporting!
Oh Sith! Tonight I went on a late toy hunt since I had nothing better to do this Friday night. Yeah, I am lame. Nothing to do on a Friday night. I made several stops on my toy hunt with no luck. On my way home there was a car accident so I took a side road down to the next main street. I decided to make one last stop at K-Mart (West Washington St.) that never has anything good. When I came to the aisle that has the Star Wars I saw a sight that was amazing. Three pegs full of Collection 1 Wave 1 of Revenge of the Sith action figures, a peg full of the first wave of deluxe figures, the three ships (Obi-Wan's Star Fighter, General Grievous Wheel Bike, & Tri Droid Fighter) and Anakin's Star Fighter, and the new Unleashed. Sure the basic action figures are a dollar more than other stores but I did not care. The deluxe figures are a dollar cheaper than the other store as well. Anyways I ran back to the front grabbed a cart and filled it up with the items that I wanted. This is indeed a good birthday week for the Bink's! Happy Hunting!

24/7 S.C.A.L.P. Trooper“Here's another small report for today:

Toys R Us (Gurnee, IL) “had 1 Unleashed IG-88 & 1 Unleashed Aurra Sing.

Target (Gurnee, IL) “has no Star Wars section in their action figure aisle, at least until 4/2/05. They did have the new G.I. Joe 3-packs that come with a reprinted comic book. One set comes with Duke, Destro, & Roadblock. The second one comes with Snake Eyes, Red Ninja, & Storm Shadow, which look identical to the original version back in '84. The third one has Serpentor, Firefly, & Scrap Iron. That's all for now. Later.”

Anyone have a 12-inch Plo Koon?“Troops, I had a previous engagement last night so, like any true fan, I set the 'ole VCR to record The OC. When I got home, I found that the show had been preempted by a womens' college basketball game. AAHHHH! But that's okay because I was just now able to view the trailer on starwars.com and it is killer. I don't know which image is my favorite, but right up there has to be when Mace Windu, Agen Kolar, Saesee Tiin, and Kit Fisto walk in on bad-boy Palpatine and arrest him with light sabers locked and loaded! Anyway who isn't totally jazzed by this trailer can go watch reruns of Oprah and The View. CU @ C3.”

More Money Spent at Celebration III
C3The folks in charge of the autographs for Celebration III (Official Pix) have announced the costs involved with the coupons you have to purchase to get an autograph. As of right now there are 39 celebrity guests announced which should top well over 40 in the next few days. Coupons will cost $10.00 each. 12 out of the 39 celebrities are 2 coupons each which will cost you $20.00, while 27 out of 39 will cost you $10.00 each. Both costs will be for items you bring to get signed. An additional cost of $5.00 will get you an official CIII logo photo for you to purchase to get signed as well.

With everyting added up, if you were to purchase every autograph at CIII including the purchase of the $5.00 photo, this would cost you $705.00 dollars. If you brought your own item to get signed it only would cost you $510.00 dollars. Bringing your own item would be the way to go, but lugging everything with you would be another issue.

Please check out the Official Pix website for all of the information.

    Going Back In Time!
DescriptionIt?s that time again we?re we go "Back in Time" to visit one of our older Dewback Patrol missions. Last time we took you back to our Wizard World Chicago 2004 experience, and this time we?re going to a much smaller avenue? the Kane County Toy Show.

This specific outing means a lot to me, because this was the first day I started working for Sandtroopers.com. I met up with Darth Spice and the now retired Jason D. Myers for the very first time. Even though I had gotten to the toy show at 7:00am and was finished by 10:00am, I still waited around for those two to show up (they were running late and weren?t at the show yet). Once they arrived, I walked around with them sharing my ideas on where the site could go, what we could do to improve ourselves, and how to make us the best Star Wars collecting site on the Internet. To remind me of this outing, I purchased a POTF2 12? Sandtrooper (loose) for $10, which stands at attention in my collection. Every time I see that in my collection I think about me enlisting in the Sandtrooper army.

So, without boring you any further, fasten your seatbelt and prepare to go back in time to visit the Kane County Toy Show!

Grevious' Wheel Bike and Anakin's Starfighter.I already had Anakin's ride, but was happy to pick up the General's. Also they had Unleashed IG-88 and Aura on clearance (???) for $10.00! But I didn't stop there. I asked a red shirt if she would check in the back for Obi's Starfighter. When she did, the little guy who lives in her walkie-talkie said that they only had Droid Tri-fighters. I said I'll take it and she ran back and got it for me. Sandtrooper dustrho Reporting In!
This report goes out specifically to those who hate it when I report how lucky my wife is finding me new stuff, so I hope you enjoy this report I?m about to present to you. Well, my wife has the best luck when it comes to finding new Star Wars toys for me, and if it weren?t for her my collection wouldn?t be as big as it is today. She knows everything that I own, and knows what to keep an eye out for. I don?t even have to ask her to help look for me? she just goes out and looks for me.

So, in the last week she has found me some great stuff. She found me the new Unleashed Aurra Sing and IG-88 figures. Finding these two Unleashed figures is what encouraged me to open all my Unleashed figures, and those who know me know that I was one of the few Star Wars collectors that still had all my Unleashed figures carded. That?s not the case anymore, and I must say that I love my Unleashed displayed loose in my collection.

Next up she found me two new Revenge of the Sith vehicles, which were Anakin?s Jedi Starfighter and Grievous? Wheel Bike. These look so cool, that I think these are also going to help encourage me to open up these up. My wife was like, ?That Wheel Bike includes a General Grievous figure. How cool is that!??

So, how many Troopers here have spouses that help find them new Star Wars booty? I know I?m not the only one out there that has a great wife who helps me out. I?d like to hear your stories about your spouse helping find new items for you, and all you have to do is reply to this thread in our forums.

Until next time? United We Find!

    Sandtroopette TK9989 Reports:
“Troopers, in the past your website has done some charity work and we thought once again the loyal Sandtroopers could make a difference in a life of a little Troopette. Katie is a 6 year-old girl from Columbia, SC who recently was diagnosed with a glioma brain tumor located in the pons of the brain stem. It is virtually unreachable surgically. This makes the tumor much more threatening than a tumor found on the cortex, where it can be cut out with relative ease. This has cast a pall over the prognosis of the cancer, but we are not giving up. Katie and family needs your help. Take a minute to donate, a small financial donation would go far in helping Katie have a happier time. For more information on this please visit the website set up for her benefit.”

Thank you for the information, I'd like to ask any Trooper out there to give what they can. It was no surprise Jim from Federation Toys stepped up to the plate big time. Many of us are trying to save for CIII and the release of new figures. Take a moment to realize there are things bigger than all of us and we as a group can help. Sandtroopers.com will be exploring ways to assist. United We Find.

“Greetings Troopers, I know everybody is probably sick of reading about the lucky handful that was able to pick up RotS items early. I know I was, although the search is not near from over, I finally found a few that would temporarily satisfy the quest. I only managed to get 2 of 3 RotS Galactic Heroes (Anakin/Dooku & Emperor/Yoda). I also picked up the Obi-Wan Starfighter. I left 2 on the shelf along with a Grievous Wheelbike that I wasn't too interested in. Hope the remaining falls into the hands of the worthy and not the scalpers. Still hoping to find Grievous/Obi-Wan Galactic Heroes, Droid Fighter, and maybe even a Darth Force Battler. The store that I found this was in Cerritos, CA (Southern Cali). Just want to share the hope to those who are not having much luck in finding early releases. Keep hope alive and good luck Troopers!”

Sith Items a Plenty at Target
Boba BinksWow! Four days without internet access and all Sith breaks loose. After seeing all the posts of people finding items at Target I went out on a hunt for my birthday. I stopped at several Target stores here in Indy and like many of you picked up the new Galactic Heroes, Obi-Wan's Starfighter, Tri Droid Fighter, and Grievous's Wheel Bike. While hunting for new toys at Target I notice two Target stores reset the Star Wars area. Items to be on the look out for are as follows:

  • Deluxe Figure 07144 $12.99 (None in stock, stocker told me they sold out in one day.)
  • Episode III Medium Vehicle 85196 $19.99 (Ships that are now out.)
  • X-Wing Fighter with Luke Fig 07152 $24.99 (Not sure if this is new or what!?! Any ideas please let us know.)

They also had the basic figures, Clone Wars Figures, and Unleashed on reduced price. One last thing. I picked up at Target two new Sith Items. They are the Spin Pops. The two are Darth Vader and Chewbacca. When you push on the button the characters arm moves up and down and the lolly pop spins above their head. They are $3.00 each in the candy area. Happy Hunting!

The Force is Strong with "The O.C."
Seth CohenAdam Brody, who plays the role of Seth Cohen on FOX's hot show " The O.C.," is a huge fan of Star Wars, couldn't be more excited with the Episode III trailer being aired during their show this Thursday night (March 10, 8:00-9:00pm ET/PT). Believe it or not, there were several instances where Star Wars quotes were used in previous episodes of "The O.C." Read all of them and more here.

    Clone Wars DVD Reviewed
Clone Wars DVDDVD Talk has written up a great review about the soon-to-be-released animated Star Wars: Clone Wars DVD. They gave this DVD a fairly decent review, but they do have one major complaint about it. What is that complaint, when most of us thought the animated series as a whole was great? They state, "it doesn't really bridge the films, as it sorta promises." However, one great plus about this DVD is that it includes the 2-minute Episode III Teaser Trailer, presented in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Surround. Read the full review here, and be sure to pre-order yourself one over at StarWarsShop.com.

Star Wars in a "Musical" Format?
C3Troops, have you ever been "forced" to take the wife/girlfriend to something other than a Star Wars movie or some kind of "guy" thing. Has she asked you for tickets to a play or musical? Well, here's your chance to make it up to her... sort of. If you're attending Celebration III you will be able to witness the musical version of Star Wars. It will be available for your viewing pleasure various times throughout the event. Please check out the Official Site for all of the details.

    Volunteering at Celebration III
C3Troops, a couple of weeks ago I posted on how "Official Pix", the company that will be the group in charge of autographs for Celebration III, sent out a request for anyone attending to be a volunteer. They have been filtering through the lists of people interested in giving up some of their valuable time to be a part of what will be a crazy area. I was selected as one of the volunteers for this event. I don't know my official part yet, but could be sitting right next to one of the Star Wars celebs at CIII. I will keep you posted as to what I will be doing. If you happen to come across a bald headed guy that looks like Mr. Clean, stop by and say hi. I will give an update as soon as I get more info. Thanks.

Republic Commando in the News Again
Republic CommandoIn case you haven't heard, Republic Commando has been out in stores for almost a week now, and it's also one of the most talked about video games out there. This time it was the Marin Independent Journal's turn to talk about this exciting new game from LucasArts. They make a lot of great points, but what really hit the nail on the head was their following statement: "What sets this game apart isn't its equipment, but the squad itself."

Luckily, I was able to pick up this game over the weekend, I put in about four hours so far, and I must say the game is simply amazing. Until I read this article, I hadn't even thought about the fact that there are no Jedi running around with lightsabers, you don't fly any fancy ships, and you don't get to drive any combat vehicles. You're a Clone Commando in the Republic army, and your job is to kick some major Separatist butt!

You can read the full news article here, and be sure to talk about this in our forums.

    New Galactic Heroes Found!
Galactic HeroesTroopers, I have some great news! I made a quick stop at one of the Target stores by my house, and was successful in finding something new... all three of the new Galactic Heroes Episode III sets (Obi-Wan Kenobi & General Grievous, Emperor Palpatine & Yoda, and Anakin Skywalker & Count Dooku). The funny part is that I wasn't even looking for these, and I happened to literally stumble upon them. I was there in hopes of finding some new Episode III basic figures and vehicles, but instead finding these Galactic Herores was a very nice surprise. Check out the pictures of them here!

    Sandtrooper SoCal Dom Reports:
One of SoCal's Finest!“Just thought I would let everyone know that I also found all 4 of the newly released vehicles at the Target in Murrieta, Ca yesterday. The Tri-Droid fighter, wheel bike, Anakin's and Obi-Wan's Starfighters. I left all 4 of them on the shelf as I really did not feel justified paying $80 plus. I did want everyone to know that they are out there, just be patient. It would appear that they are stocked one each to a case, meaning more than likely, one or two of them will be more popular than others, leaving overstock of the others. Still looking for the Post OTC wave, including the Sandtrooper, Scout Trooper and Stormtrooper. Anyone have access to these? Send me an email.”

I did find the Sneak Preview Anakin's Jedi Starfighter at the Target in Everett, MA this afternoon. It's a nice toy. I didn't see any evidence of the April 2nd releases though. I'm getting ready for a midnight toy run with the hopes of snagging an ARC-170 Fighter. To all the lucky Troopers heading to C-III, I'll see you there on the 21st. Trooper Jon out.”

“Hello again troopers. I found all of the new ROTS galactic heroes filling up every last nook and cranny on the pegs at my Target. It's a 2 minute walk away, lucky me! I don't like the Galactic Heroes. There was also 1 last Preview Anakin Jedi Starfighter for $20. I also found a few Preview Wookiees (no other preview figures) for $4.88, proving that Target in a heck of a lotta places are making way for collection 1 and 2. I also believe I missed the collection 1 and 2 figs for RotS by a handful of minutes too; the Star Wars section was a disaster, with nothing but Mace and Dooku Unleashed that have been there for almost since they came out.”

Clone Wars Volume II Coming to Hyperspace
Coming soon to the Cartoon Network is Star Wars: Clone Wars the animated micro-series that was a complete hit last year. If you're a Hypserspace member you will be able to download the the first chapter in a large movie format, while the following day non-Hyperspace members will be able to download a much smaller version for free. Here's a brief description of where we left off with Volume I, and where we will begin with the first chapter in Volume II:

The five episodes of Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume II picks up right where Volume I left off -- with a team of Jedi trapped in a wrecked starship on Hypori, being hunted maliciously by General Grievous. As the series progresses, it jumps forward in time, to see Anakin Skywalker as a heroic Jedi Knight, fighting alongside Obi-Wan Kenobi on different battlefronts of the Clone Wars.

    Sandtrooper Jetfire Reporting In!
Grievous' Wheel Bike"Troopers, not only the Force, but also the luck of the Irish was with me today as I scored General Grievous? Wheel Bike and Obi-Wan?s Starfighter! I had to go out to my parents' to move furniture and figured that I should hit a nearby Target on the way there. I couldn?t believe my luck as I saw these gems sitting on the shelf next to a pair of Anakin Starfighters.

Obi-Wan's StarfighterNo Episode III figures, but all other Star Wars figures were on clearance to make room for the upcoming onslaught of figures on April 2nd. So, if you are looking for the new Episode III vehicles or a cheap Sly Moore, head out to your! local Target with your four-leaf clover. Good luck! Sandtrooper Jetfire out!"

I haven?t been so lucky to find all of the animated figures. The Clones mainly, but at least I?ve found some. All the pre-view figs have been in the area with only the Wookiee Warrior hanging around. Other than that, just finding old OTC figs on clearance. I managed to score a second SA Bobba Fett for 5 bucks at Wal-mart. My final thought for the night, is its good to be home. The only pegwarmer is the Wookiee Warrior. The animated figs are also at all three stores with the three different colored Clone Troopers. The only new items I picked up recently were Lego items. Picked up the Vader TIE, Jedi Starfigher w/Droid and the very impressive Imperial Inspection. No sign yet of the new Unleashed figs nor early releases of the ROTS figs. Happy Hunting to all!”

Sandtrooper Dom Reports: From the Frozen Woods of Wisconsin
Anyone have a 12-inch Plo Koon?“Hey Troops, Just picked up the Preview Starfighter at the local Target in East Central Whiskey and it is sweet. One of the best features is the roomy cockpit. You'll have no trouble fitting Anakin in it, unlike the problems we had with Zam Wessel's speeder. No one can get in that thing. Also, the bottomless R2 isn't as bad as I thought it would be. It comes with stickers to replicate R2's front and back and the dome actually rotates like any R2 figure. Of course, if you're a stickler for accuracy you could stick an actual R2 figure in the droid socket. The ship clearly has TIE-fighter influences such as the "spider web" forward window and the pop-out wings, which seem to have solar panels on the insides. The stickers are okay. I like the fact that the battle damage sticker placement is left up to you. You can place them wherever you like or not at all. In short, a great ship. Now where in Kashyyyk is the Super Soaker? Jedi Dom out!”

In our last Episode dustrho reviewed the ground breaking debut of Clone Wars the Animated Series. It's nice to see Obi-Wan and Anakin are shown having further troubles. We also got a look at ARC Troopers in action. It was simply amazing to see that much entertainment jammed into three minutes. Sandtrooper JEFFRED5 Reports:
“I have been out of touch with the world for a while due to illness and I don't know where to start getting back into things. I know Sandtroopers is a great place to get caught up on a lot of Star Wars stuff, but I need some gaming info as well (again mostly Star Wars I just got Rep Com) my problem is my X-box control pad is taking a crap on me and it's the third one I've replaced in a year. I don't play all that much and I never have had to replace a controller from any other system I've owned. I been using the Mad Catz MacroCON witch worked great when it worked. I know this isn't what Sandtroopers is about but you are one of the few Web Sites I visit and I figured that a lot of Star Wars fans that come to Sandtroopers also play Star Wars games so I thought you or someone at Sandtroopers would be able to help me find a more reliable X-Box Control Pad or at least give me some leads to where to go to find ratings on the different types and brands out there. Thanks for any help you can give me and keep up the great work keeping us Troopers informed, I can't tell you how many times I read something on your site that prompted me to go try to find something I didn't know was out yet and found out that if I had been only a few days or even hours later I would have missed it completely.”

    Conquering the Galaxy
ROTSOf course we all know that Revenge of the Sith will be the final Star Wars film ever, and George Lucas won't be laying his lightsaber down quietly. With only a couple months to spare, Lucas is building his own army to make ROTS his most successful movie ever. In an effort to bring in as much possible revenue, Lucas and his company (Lucasfilm) are teaming up with several different companies like Pepsi, Burger King, Kellogg's, Mars candies and others, and by doing this ROTS will be the most publicized and advertised Star Wars film of all. The last time Lucas engaged in this type of activity was with his first prequel film, The Phantom Menace. Read more about this here.

Sandwatch Action Figure Review: Post-OTC Queen Amidala
Hey Troops, Sandwatch Action Figure Reviews have been updated. I am in complete shock, the Post-OTC collection continues with Queen Amidala. While most feel the Episode I line was cut short, it's good to see Hasbro make ammends for past mistakes. Too bad it couldn't have been after the OTC Dagobah Wave. Do you agree? Feel free to offer your own feedback about the POTC collection. Until then enter if you dare!

    ROTS Vehicles at Hasbro!
Republic GunshipHasbro has updated their web with two stunning images including the Republic Gunship and ARC-170 Fighter. This is the third re-hashing of the Republic Gunship, but I must say that this is the best-looking paintjob yet. Plus, this will give Star Wars collectors another opportunity to pick up more of these for your armies and/or dioramas.

    ARC-170 Fighter
The ARC-170 Fighter is a completely new vehicle by Hasbro, and this is definitely going to be one of the hottestt Episode III products to come out this year. This ship is the predecessor to the Original Trilogy's X-wing Fighter, but this is slightly different in that it doesn't hold just one pilot but three PLUS an astromech droid!

Check out the images and product descriptions here.

    Sandtrooper ACPin Reports:
If you thought that kid Zack back in the 80's was a Lego Maniac, he had nothing on ACPin. We have his latest triple play which he didn't have to use Steroids to deliver a knockout.

Echo Base EscapeEcho Base Escape: When the transports retreated, the Rebel ground forces and snowspeeder squadrons covered their escape by delaying the Imperials for as long as they could. As the Echo Base defenses collapsed, the ground assault of the base by the Imperial snowtroopers have penetrated the interior. The Millennium Falcon was the last ship to deploy barely escaping the Imperial assault.

Echo Base DespairEcho Base Despair: The two droids keep watch just outside the hangar entrance as R2D2 scans the darkened snow banks for any sign of the two stragglers. Princess Leia has been briefed by Major Bren Derlin about the closing of the shield doors to Echo Base for the night. A stoic Leia complied, putting the safety of the Alliance base over her personal concerns for her friends.

JuggernautJuggernaut: One of the many unused and abandoned concepts from the original trilogy, the wheeled tanks were first sketched by Joe Johnston. The so-called "turbo tank" (also known as a Juggernaut) forms the armored backbone of a clone trooper force in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

If this has you Lego fans wondering how much you really can do with Lego products, see more work from ACPin here.
