SLAMMIN' week for Sandtrooper Jabba James:
"You all know this already because you saw the update, but I can't believe I won the Ephant Mon. There was a major toy show here in Canada and I sold all of the Star Wars stuff I had for sale. I have a few Simpsons pieces left, but not much at all. A friend of mine who worked the sales table also made a contact with a company in a city about 3 hours from here who have a BoShek figure for me so we will be ordering it asap. What an awesome toy week. I really appreciate you all helping me out by buying some of my collection advertised here on Sandtroopers! Thanks."

See, it is you Troops who are each other's most valuable tools in tailoring your collections. If any of you still have Jabba James' sale list, please remember that his Star Wars stuff HAS all been sold now. We do hope you get that BoShek to go along with the Ephant figure James!

Ephant Mon for trade
Hey Troops, I have an extra carded Ephant Mon for trade. The card itself is in case fresh condition, I can find no obvious flaws. The bubble has one minor ding in the upper right corner. It is more noticable from the side than the front. Overall I would rate this one a C-9. I would be willing to trade for the new Saga Imperial Officer with blond hair, Barriss Offee or Aayla Secura. They would not have to be mint cards since I am an opener. I just want nice figures. If you are interested, let me know.

Sandtrooper Freakynutty reports:
"I figured I'd give a heads up to the site that helped me through so many wave hunts. Due to lack of storage room, I've begun selling off my Star Wars collection on ebay. I have collected every 3-3/4" figure since POTF2 launched back in 1995. All of them are on the original card they were released on, and in excellent condition. There are easy-to-find, hard-to-find, exclusive, and mail-away figures. There are a few select 12" that were too cool not to pick up at the time.

"The first wave is up on the bay now and the second will be as soon as I get the pictures. This may help anyone trying to fill holes or build an army. Either way, any figures that anyone has missed from 1995 to the first set of blue card figures will eventually be for sale in the coming weeks if you're interested. Just look for sales by freakynutty. Thanks to for all their help over the years of collecting and swapping, and Good Luck to anyone interested!"

Sandtrooper Lee reports:
"Hiya Troopers, Its been so long since I had anything to report, I had thought all the supply ships had been flamed before they reached here. I finally found some of the "newer" figs at the Wal-Mart in D'Iberville, MO: Tusken Raider (w/ 'lop' off head), Padme (droid factory), Destroyer Droid, and the Jango Pilot. That means they should be hitting the rest of the area in short order. That's it for this transmission. Take care and be safe, and keep the rest of the Troopers who are fighting for our freedom in you thoughts and prayers."

Sandtrooper Ozziehihorse is back from break:
"Hi troops, it's been awhile but I am BACK! I have a few requests and haves for sale/trade :

2 sets of 1 Ephant Mon (one has a slight bend on right side and the other has a torn top of card, but both are unopened and perfect bubbles); 4 destroyers Droids; 1 Clonepilot; 1 Yoda with chair. I will sell a set of each for $20 Delivered.

"Or I will trade a set of the above for a 12" Plo Koon (or I will buy from someone as well). I also have first release Vader Unleashed for sale/trade. On other related collecting notes, I will buy/trade for most NFL variants and regulars. Please let me know, and it is nice to be back."

Force of the Bay Weekend Edition:
Hey Troops, I was surfing the greatest collection completion tool in the galaxay, also known as ebay and found some great things to fill those nasty holes in your collections. First on the menu is Aunt Beru who took nearly 30 years to make. It will probably take Hasbro another 30 to give us an Attack of the Clones version! Also up were a number of vintage goodies like this one. There are literally thousands of carded vintage in great condition like this Wookiee. Our good friends at Cloud City have once again shown us true rarities. Also check out their other auctions that just went live tonight for some great vintage bargains. I also uncovered this Takara wonder, and I thought only die hard collectors like General J thought freaky things like this were worth major money! Also available now is this awesome Prototype for not a whole lot of money like you see many other places. All this and so much more, 24 hours a day! Also, the weekend brings us some fun, and what better fun then to point out a good old Power Sucka? A very reliable Troop pointed this mother cannukker out and I thought we'd put him right out here on front street for all of you to see his ignorance. Yes they are from the vintage films but they are a far cry from vintage figures! Use ebay to your advantage and while I try to research these sellers, Sandtroopers nor ebay endorses or supports these sellers. Excercise good sense and caution in your travels to ebay. Good luck Troops, Kick A$% and take names! Thanks again to Trooper Brian with the Power Sucka!

"Hey fellow troopers, I've come into some money troubles and need to sell off some stuff. I have a full case of the Padme wave I need to sell. Area findings:
Hey Troops, a rainy day in the Chicagoland area and I braved the storm to go figure hunting. Wouldn't you know it, the first place I went had 2 Ephant Mons and that was all I would find the whole day, much to my dismay. Ray Charles could see there are too many crappy figures cluttering the pegs. Does Hasbro not realize that they won't sell if they have been there for 5 months? It is really starting to get on my nerves to see the same stuff everywhere you go. The Ephants were at the Waukegan Target and there were also the 3 new twelve inch figures at the Toys 'R' Us in Vernon Hills Illinois. Maybe things will shape up around here in the next couple weeks but right now this is enough to tick off the Pope! Spice out, hopefully all of you are doing much better than me in your searches!

Sandtrooper Sean 'V' reports:
"Hey troops, I just wanted to tell everybody out there what an amazing piece of art the new Unleashed Slave Leia is! I had to order mine since they'll never show up here in Canada. This is a very nice piece with a lot of detail. Her skirt is made of translucent material that when under the light looks just like real sheer fabric. She's also much smaller than the previous Unleashed."

Sandtrooper Lin Que with Mutual of Omaha's Aisle Kingdom:
"What up troops!! Lin Que with the Omaha report.I just got back from Wal-Mart and THEY HAD NEW FIGS!! Well, not really new, they had the Jedi Council Yoda, some Destroyers, Clone Troopers Bikers and Pilots and a Hanger Duel Anakin (the best Anakin so far). Target has the Speeders with Dooku and the Chosen One. I'm seriously considering butchering my Outland Peasant waste of loot and swap the head for that open mouth disgrace. I do have a spare Ephant Mon for anyone interested. Hey, any customizers out there I have a question. I have a Captain Panaka head that needs a top (it just has a peg were the hat was). Anyone know how I make make it look normal with hair and stuff? Thanks!"

Sandtrooper 'Trooper Larry' reports:
"Hey troops! Trooper Larry reporting. Unfortunately, nothing new to post. I havent seen anything new for over a month. The Wally World near me has Cantina Bar sets marked down to 5 bucks, and 12" down to 10. Even the local TRU has been a disappointment. They cut down their stock, to a small section in the corner, that's mixed with Star Trek figures.

"Troops, I am in desperate need of help. My Fianc is going to be having our first child in a few months. I am trying to complete a Vintage Y-wing before our child is born. I will part with a boxed Saga Tie bomber for all of the following parts. 8x- struts, 1x- canopy gun and mount, 2x- nose guns, and if at all possible, 1x- two piece bomb. The bomb is not as important to me, as the other pieces. If you have some parts, please contact me. I do also have an C8 or better, carded Ephant, and a 6" Destroyer droid I will part with. Any help is greatly appreciated."

Sandtrooper Dennis J. reports:
"Well, the new saga Collection I & II figures have been showing up at Wal-Marts here in Jacksonville, Florida the last few days. Unfortunately the Collection 2 figures with the Jedi females and Lama Su showed up on Tuesday and I couldn't go hunting that day. Found the reminisce on Wednesday. But I did find the Collection I figures with Boba Fett, Mace, Anakin and R2-D2 but they all had crushed bubbles. They must have had an accident at the distribution center because every store had crushed cases. Well at least I got my set to open. Also found today at TRU the Vader and Leia Unleashed figures. That's been about it on the Star Wars front.

"I did pick up an extra set of the Boba Fett, Mace, Anakin and R2-D2 to trade. Like I said they have crushed bubbles but are good for openers. Also picked up an extra Eeth Koth, Teebo and Library Droids. These are mint figures. The only things I'm really looking for are Lama Su (x1 Mint), Aayla Jedi (x1 Mint) and (x1 to open), Offee Jedi (x1 mint) and (x1 to open), Boba Fett (x1 mint), Mace (x1 mint), Anakin (x1 mint), R2-D2 (x1 mint) I will take these trades first. But if you are interested, go ahead and send me your trade list and I'll see if anything gets my interest. Until next time. MTFBWY."

For A Trooper, By a Trooper Contest
"Jedijaybird here, things have been kind of quiet for me in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area as far as figures go, but people have been finding a few of the newest assortments around, but not me, although I was able to find an Ephant Mon today. Fortunately I already have a couple of these monstrosities so I am offering it up to any trooper out there who needs it. The condition is pretty good, a strong C8+, with a little wrinkle on the corner but not too bad. I will part with it for only the cost of shipping to anywhere in the continental US!

"You can email me at if you are interested. I will choose one random email by the end of the day Friday the 28th. I will notify the trooper chosen on Monday, right here on"

Thanks MUCH to our good Trooper Jedijaybird in Minnesota for this downright decent contest - SLAMMIN!

"While searching for "pet safe" lawn care I came across TIE Bombers at Wally World in Burlington and Rt. 38 in Jersey. If someone has the "elusive" Boba Fett, I can pick one up for a trade. Also, look on the top shelf at the Rt. 38 location; there are deluxe clone troopers. Take care and support the Real Troopers who are making the ultimate sacrifice."

Good Golly Miss Molly!!!!

I just received my shuttle from Brian's Toys and it is the coolest Star Wars toy EVER! Actually it is as cool as the 12" Scout Trooper and Speederbike! I never owned this when Jedi came out and to have it now is a real treat! It arrived in mint condition and I am totally happy with it! I recommend ownership immediately! This is the actual shuttle I received, I took this pic tonight.

Now this is Beyond Belief. I have been a Jawa forum member for about a year now and over the course of that time I was making different images and posting them in different threads. Well I guess I caught the eye of one Sandtrooper Jason who swooped in and put me on a trial basis doing grafix for the Now that trial period has ended and I am an official member...(sweet). I have been a big fan of Star Wars since the 70's and have been collecting mainly 3 3/4 figures for the last 5 years. I am a loose collector and have built many homemade dioramas to house my collection, this hobby is awesome. I would also like to give a hats off to my friend Spiceowan who heads up the Illinois/Wi. 24/7 local Sandtroopers. He's always lookin to recruit some new troopers, get with Spice if you are interested in joining.

That is all folks, and I'll be seeing you around.

Force of the Bay
Hey Troops, I have been searching the pages of ebay searching for collection fillers and once again the World's online marketplace is the place to patch collection holes. First up is the ever elusive Star Tours figures and not too much more than retail on that one. I usually stay away from newer items but these are wanted by many. With the Easter season approaching, I went Old School with this one. My very first figure many years ago in '79 on Easter Sunday when fate dealt me my future passion. Also on tap are deals like this are a dime a dozen. Comic shops and Collectible stores are going to sink with the emerging power of ebay. Also featured this week is your dose of Coin freakage! Another thing I generally stay away from in this column is custom work, however there are exceptions. This featured auction blew me away! Hey Hasbro, look a cool toy, what a concept. I bet he didn't even use a mold from the 80's! As always neither endorses ebay or the sellers featured here. Use caution and read up on who you are buying from. Good luck Troops, Kick A$% and take names!

Sandtrooper SJediMstr reports:
"Seven stores and $100 later... I made a major toy run yesterday. I found the Anakin Swoop at the Target in Montrose (Akron area), Ohio(only one and no Dooku). The K-B at Summit Mall had the Electronic Jango for $20. The Wal-Mart in Canton had all 3 new Action Fleet Vehicles (I picked up the Republic Assault Ship). To top it off, the same Wal-Mart had 4 unopened boxes of the next wave of Star Wars figures (e.g. SP-4, Flying R2, Boba Fett Pitt of Carkoon [very cool]). A note about the SP-4: if you are looking for a mint card/bubble it will be tough. Within every box I checked, the SP-4 bubble was crushed (packed in very tight). Nice to see new product hitting the shelves ... Happy Hunting!!!"

Sandtrooper John C. with a Dateline Follow-Up:
Now, a Dateline follow-upSappy Expressionless Tantive Troopers:"J, I've taken a closer look at the variants. I knew the hair was different, but didn't realize the entire head was different. You're right. The Imperial Officer's changes between POTJ & Saga are definitely noticeable, as are the 2 diferent sculpts in the Saga line. The Rebel Soldier's changes are more subtle. I can see a difference between between the POTJ one & the Saga figures. I noticed the shape of the mouth is a bit different. On the POTJ, he has a bit of a 'sappy' half-smirk look to him. On the Saga figure is a more serious look. The trooper with the reddish-brown hair is expressionless. His mouth is a straight line. Also, his head seems to be slightly elongated. The black-haired trooper's mouth actually curls down slightly at the ends & his head seems a bit more 'triangular.' Hope that helps you. Feel free to post this to the troops, if you'd like. The case with the blonde Imperial Officer (1 per case) & the black-haired Rebel Trooper (2 per case) is 84861001X collection 2, wave 2. That case also is short-packed with 1 each of Aayla Secura, Lama Su & Barriss Offee."

"It's been a while since I have posted here or on any Star Wars site but I thought I would see whether any Troopers out there are going to the Sci-Fi Summit here in Pasadena, California this weekend. There will be Star Trek, Star Wars and Buffy people there signing autographs. I'll be there on Saturday and Sunday representing Star Wars. The only toys I have found lately were the Trash Compactor sets at Wal-Mart in Pico Rivera. Other than that there really hasn't been many new figures around."

"Jedichirp here, from Indianapolis, Indiana. I found some new figs again at the Greenwood (Indy) Wal-Mart this morning. I picked up Padme - Droid Factory. They also had Teebo, Rebel Soldiers, and some Tuskens. Tonight I went to Target in Greenwood and found the new Darth Tyranus. It was the only "new" fig that they had. But they did have the leftovers of the Ephant wave. But no Ephant, with about 5 clean shaven Endor Rebels.

"Hey troops. I need some help. I have just picked up the vintage Max Rebo Band a few weeks ago. It is complete EXCEPT for the 2 microphones. Does anyone have them and willing to part with them? Or does anyone know where I can get them? Thanks troops. Good luck."

In response to Hey Mon!
I received this only a short while after my post:

"In response to your query, if you take the deeper star case and reverse the "back" orientation (so that it indents outward as opposed to inward), you will find that the modified star case is now deep enough to adequately house and protect the figure. Use small pieces of scotch tape to hold it all together inconspicuously. If you want to go the extra mile, as I did, to secure the edges and corners, take another "back" and trim away the center, leaving only the perimeter, and gently force the trimmed back into place against the previously reoriented back. If done carefully, nobody will notice."

Well there you have it Troops, the answer was there (if only I'd excercised patience!) and once again this proves the best collection tool on the internet is ... each other! I just went with the scotch tape and it worked great. Thanks again Jeff, you rock!

Hey Mon!?!
Fellow Troopers, I just received my shipment of Star Cases I ordered a few days ago. I ordered some of the deluxe cases and some of the Star Case 2, this is where I ran into a problem I need some help with. The Star Case 2 does not fit Ephant Mon, the main reason I purchased these. Does anyone know of a case that DOES fit Ephant Mon? They work great for the Star Tours figures that are a bit oversized such as RX-24 "Rex" or WEG-1618, but no dice for the Head of Jabba's Security. Ephant Mon was the best offering for 2002 in my opinion, and it was difficult enough to find one in good enough shape to add to my collection (I am very picky!). I hope someone can help me out. I'd hate to have to go the cheap route and put it in one of those comic-baggies! Maybe they will have to design a case just for this figure. At least everything displayed is now covered, dust kills. If anyone can help, hit me up at, and thanks again Troops, Spiceowan out!

Sandtrooper Jedisearch reports:
"Hey guys, I stopped by my local Wal-Mart in Newburgh, New York to find a lot of new stuff on the shelf, pretty much one of everything:
new Obi-Wan, Padme, Tyranus, R2-D2, Mace Windu, Rebel Fleet Trooper, Tusken Raider, and Boba Fett. I did not find however neither Barriss Offee, Aayla Secura nor Lama Su. But did look in other stores in the area, with no luck there. The new figures seem to have hit the Northeast hard, so be on the lookout. Wal-Mart has been cleared out."

Confirming Western NY's John C's earlier report from Friday, a lot of folks in the Northeast will be very happy if this trend materializes further.

Sandtrooper John C. reports:
"Friday was a good day on the hunt. New finds in Western NY as I made my usual stop at Wal-Mart in Niagara Falls before work & was happy to finally see new figures still in the cases. 5 cases in all, each case was different (collection # & wave #), all sitting on the pallet. I asked the lady whether she would mind if I went through them. Since there was only one case opened, she told me I could go through that one. She went on to tell me how the Hasbro rep. is supposed to come one of these days & pull the old stock.

"As luck would have it (dumb luck, at that), the Hasbro rep. walks in as I'm going through the case. After a short chat, both women approach me & tell me I can open up any of the cases & take whatever I want! Wow! While I was cleaning out the cases, the Hasbro rep. went ahead & pulled all the old figures off the pegs. Needless to say, I am now totally caught up with all the basic figures, 16 in all, including the Imperial Officer & Rebel Trooper head variants.

"A message here, Troops, is patience. They will come. I waited well over 3 months for new basic figures to hit. If the figures are here in Western New York, everyone should be getting them pretty soon. I would also say that a little courtesy goes a long way. I have made it a point to be friendly to the store employees. They're people too. It has paid off for me many times over. Until next time, J, from your old stompin' grounds."

Sandtrooper "Codename: DUSTY" reports:
"I just got back from the TRU here in Bloomington, IL and they just had a delivery. They had all their pegs full of Saga figures, mostly the same ones everyone else has plus a bin with plenty of Maul, Anakin Ambush, and Padme Coruscant Attack. Also of note, they had 3 pegs full of Unleashed figs including Slave Leia and the new Vader. They also had 4 pegs full of POTJ figures. The POTJ figs were all Boshek, Teebo, and Kewtol. Lots of 12" figs as well. Somebody must have picked up the R4's that were there on the 18th (there were like 4 or so of them). Hopefully they will view that as a sale and get some new product out there."

Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction - Episode 2.05 "Did They Really Only Make 5K?"
You thought I had run my course? You should have KNOWN better! - The artist formerly known as Frakes. Get it?

Within this hour we will provide to you infomation about the F.A.O. Schwartz Imperial shuttle that will make you wonder - is it Fact or Fiction?

With all of the hoopla surrounding the Imperial Shuttle we decided to take a look back into the hype that surrounded this particular exclusive. Back when people were trying to get their names on the list at F.A.O. and worried to death that this would be the prize that slipped through their collective fingers this year, why were there only going to be 5,000 produced? A phone representative at F.A.O. told me this figure on the phone when I called and initially reserved mine. With such a handsome price on its head this was sure to be just like when this toy store took a bath on the Episode 1 Fambaa back in 1999, so they probably would run production short. The first time they cranked this baby out the run was small, so how could it possibly be any different this time? It was going to be the Christmas present collectors have been dreaming about for years.

Finally, owning an Imperial Shuttle and not paying hundreds of dollars on ebay! Then it was delayed until the first week in January. Then it was again moved back. Many hoped it was Hasbro hearing the cries of many collectors and packing in two freshly resculpted Imperial Dignitaries, but, no, that would be too much and move the price to the near two hundred dollar range I am sure. Then bankruptcy announcements had Troopers in the Great White North saying it would never happen. The month of truth arrived and the Shuttles began to filter in to happy collectors across the globe. Some were happy, only a few were sad about the shipping process. Our Extensive Poll here at Sandtroopers helped us back this up. The interesting thing was happening a few weeks ago when we were being flooded with reports of Troops receiving extras, yes, extras of this coveted prize. Many claiming they were, yes, billed but F.A.O. sent more than they wished to purchase! How could this be? They only made five thousand? Or did they? With the amount of people that bought one or even two they seem to still be easily available. It didn't stop with the reports of Troopers, our online sponsors such as Cloud City were showing up with photos of this for us to post as news:

So with all the extras showing up, I began to ask myself and other collectors - How many did they really make? I asked a reliable source at Hasbro but said they don't reveal those kind of production numbers. I know the reports from the Troops are reliable as well. I received an extra myself. Hence the wonderful contest we are providing to help the Sturge-
Weber Foundation.

So really Troops did they only make five thousand or are they cooking our goose? We would like to know what all of you think for your response please click here and let us know what you think. Is it fact or over-hyped internet rumor?

Internet Headlines for Sunday, March 23, 2003:
Jango Fett - Prehensile Elbows - SirStevesGuide has added carded images of this Spring's Deluxe figures Jango Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi. View Jango carded, bubble close-up, and card back; or Obi-Wan carded, bubble close-up, and card back. Some caveots here are Jango's magnetic forearms, his collarless neck (again, even after the Kamino escape nitpicking), and Obi-Wan's cloak which smacks of Saga Qui-Gon syndrome (sleeves don't line up with shoulder girdle). The physical play interaction features are present, but can they outdo last Spring's Force Flipping?

Old Forces - Galactic Hunter has compiled an extensive image gallery devoted to an upcoming Imperial Four Pack called "Imperial Forces" that sees Hasbro playing Dr. Frankenstein with six older figure molds. Slap a clean Sandtrooper torso on a CommTech Stormie lower body and call it good. If that doesn't work, there is a dizzy Tantive Trooper behind some AT-ST goggles and throw in another mouse droid for good measure.

Jango and the Indigo Poncho - If Qui-Gon can don a tattered poncho to go low-profile on the mean streets of Tatooine, then Jango ought to do well to remain inconspicuos in a small town neighborhood by wearing a bright blue smock. This one comes from the latest 'Image Attack' from The Official Site.

Only Star Wars Fans Can Make This Happen - Special Realm's JediDaxter has put pen to paper again, writing a letter to Hasbro for a Cinema scene from The Empire Strikes Back, and this petition will need all the support, help, and listing it can get. Try on Imperial Officers (Admiral Ozzel, General Veers, Captain Piett) with Star Destroyer Bridge Base for size. UNITED WE SIGN, or something like that.

Sandtrooper Hodge reports:
"Hi everyone, Trooper Hodge here in Cincinnati, Ohio. Start checking your local Wal-Marts. I found the Aayla Secura wave (Collection 2) and the Boba Fett wave (Colection 1) last night here in Cincy so that's probably the best place to check. Good luck and MTFBWY."

Area Report:
Agent Tweeny of the Local 24/7 Trooper Div. Reports that there has been little or no new figure activity in the N. Illinios/S. Wisconsin Area. There have been a couple Padme Amidala Droid Factory Escape and some of the re-hashes like Eeth Koth and Rebel Trooper. However no signs of Aayla, Boba or anything like that. Jango Pilot, Clone Pilot, and Supreme Chancellor Palpatine seem to be littering the shelves everywhere. Hasbro will probably pull them off and put them in a new package and sell them back to us next year. K-mart has followed Wal-Mart's lead and dropped thier 12 inch figures down to $10 and Speeders to $6 as well as next to nothing for some Lego sets. Stay strong Troops, they are coming. Once the scalping slimeballs quit paying $25 U.S. for Aayla Secura she will soon be another Jango Pilot. Patience will prevail here. Also put my name on the list of Sandtroopers who "Support the Troops" and people who are stopping traffic in the street should learn from the history books that are supposed to teach us: If you do not learn from mistakes you are doomed to repeat them. We didn't support our guys in Viet Nam and look what happened. Regardless of the fact whether you want a war or not, it is here. It is time to back our Government and our Leadership that we put in charge to handle such a situation. God Bless America!

Sandtrooper Dennis reports:
"Jacksonville, Fl. Area has been pretty dry for the last few weeks. Three weeks ago found the reminisce of the Aalya wave at one of the 10 Wal-Marts in the area. Got excited and went to all the other ones but they all got the Collection 1 wave 9 figures in (Clone Trooper Pilots, Destroyer Droids, Yoda et. al.). I did get one Lama Su that was left at the one Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart and Target haven't gotten any shipments in since until last Friday. Found the reminisce of the Ephant Mon wave at 2 of the 6 Targets in the area (Ki-Adi Mundi, Clean Shaven Endor Soldier et. al.). I did find 2 sets of the Anakin and Dooku Speeders at one Target the beginning of last week. Picked up a set for me and a set for my friend. It's getting a little frustrating spending all the time and gas money looking for the new figures and usually coming home empty handed. But I guess it just makes it sweeter when I do actually find something.

"I was wondering if someone in the Orlando area could help me out. I need a 12" Plo Koon. I have heard some of the stores at or around Disney have them. If a Trooper in Orlando could help me out by picking one up for me I'll be glad to send you the cost plus shipping. If an Orlando Trooper can help me out E-Mail me!"

Sandtrooper Keith in Vancouver reports:
'Hey Troops, first I wanted to give HUGE kudos to John Poucher down there in Ohio. With his help he has raised me from the depths of despair. I was worried that I would never see a new Star Wars figure again but he has helped me boost my Episode II and Saga collection pretty much from below figure number 40 right up to date, including Ephant Mon. Through the goodness of his heart he also threw in the Toys 'R' Us Silver R2-D2 for FREE !!! This is what Sandtroopers and collecting is all about.

"A quick update from Vancouver, Canada - absolutely nothing. In fact, the major stores like Wal-Mart and Zellers don't have any SW merchandise at all and TRU has had nothing new in 6 months or more. Lastly, I want to send my prayers to the U.S. and Allied troops in Iraq. Unite!!"

You're right, that is what it's all about! You put it so succinctly that no one can argue with it. Our friends in Canada especially need a hand keeping up, so network today!

Sandtrooper Young George Lucas reports:
"Hey folks. Young George Lucas reporting from my new digs in Spring Hill, Kansas. The Target down the road had two Ephant Mons the other day. So, keep your eyes peeled, he is still out there. Also, God bless our great nation, our troops, and our President, and, of course, all of us. All the anti-American cronies should pack up and leave if they don't like it. I'll pay for a one-way ticket to Baghdad for them."

Jumping the Shark for Classic Trilogy DVDs: character Uncle George found these online. Good if you can't stand waiting for the other shoe to drop. Sounds fair to me but a little fishy with the DTS and 5.1 Dolby Digital mix. Now, if they were mixed in 6 channels ...

Sandtrooper Sithryan with a Dateline Follow-Up on this story:
Now, a Dateline follow-up"Troopers! I noticed the post about the DVDs. I own this set, Special Edition, and it is HANDS DOWN better than VHS. They have a trailer on each one, but no other goodies. Well worth the money! I wanted to pass this along to the troops - if buying DVDs like these, make SURE they are the special edition set - there are other sets that are not the special edition and they dont play in PS2's, and have problems with the audio. If they are the special edition as pictured on Sandtroopers, they are great!"

Sandtrooper Jedi Cor reports:
"I went to the New Super Walmart in Watkins Glen, NY. The toy section was stocked up pretty well, but the Star Wars section was very small, why? They had a couple of the Trash Compactors Sets, 5 Clone Trooper with Speeder Bikes, 3 Geonosian Warrior with Sonic Blaster, Older Action Fleets, Saga TIE Bombers, The last wave of Action Figures, different color Light Sabers. Walmart (Corning, NY) has very few Action Figures, 8 Saga TIE Bombers, Older Cantina Sets for $2 now, different Mini Lego's, and some other Legos on sale. MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU ALL and THE U.S. TROOPS."

I myself am in need of the Rebel Pilots 3 pack, Watto's Box 3-pack, The Y-Wing and the B-Wing. POTF2 and up only, thanks. I'd be happy to help people find what they need."

Another Round of Successful Trades:
Sandtroopette Donna reports:
"Hi Troops, Donna from So Cal. Just got back from visiting family in No Cal. On my way back home, stopped by Wal-mart in Livermore and found 4 Saga TIE Bombers but at regular price. Next, stopped by Wal-mart in Newhall and found the Action Fleet Slave I and Republic Assault Ship but no Republic Gunship. Because of this great site, my plea for a Lego Mini TIE Fighter was answered by awesome trooper Javier in Illinois. Also Thanks to Orlando in TX for our recent trade. Happy Hunting to all."

Sandtrooper JIMSJEDI reports:
"I want to give a huge thanks to all of the Troopers out there that replied to my post on the Unleashed figures, there were more than I expected. I did manage a deal for the Tyranus, but still need Mace. Funds are low so I would like to trade. Thanks again Troops."

Hey Troopers, I have been searching throughout the pages of ebay looking for the best deals for you. One amazing thing is the quality of vintage goods. The cost is also in there as well. There are many carded delights available 24 hours a day as well. In addition to the vast line of vintage goods, there are many ways to fill up those P.O.T.F. holes. The Buy it now option rules for cleaning up on awesome sets like that. If you have searched everywhere, search no more. The hard to come ~buy~ items are a dime a dozen at ebay. This Treasure has a way to go but is a dream for me here in my War-room! It doesn't matter whatever you are looking for, you can park the Dewback Troopers, and shoot straight for the system of ebay! Sandtrooper Steve reports:
"I wanted to let everyone know that I still have an extra FAO Imperial Shuttle available for cost + shipping. $127 plus $15 shipping in the US. The shuttle is still sealed in an excellent condition box. I posted this about a week ago and got some interest, but no one solid."

Trooper Garr reports
"Hey, Garr here!! The Toy Show in St. Joseph Mo at the East Hills mall was very cool as always. I picked up a C-9 or closer to mint Vintage Shuttle for only $150, loose vintage figures for upgrades, a Vintage Rancor and an Empire Strikes Back Hoth Han Solo in pkg. I don't know how many other people go to this show, but if you want the goods for a great price it's worth the trip. I also found 2 Ephant Mon, 1 Endor Rebel Soldier (clean shaven) and tons of Return of the Jedi Vintage cards still in the wrapper, bubble gum included. Shows like this are one of the many great reasons to collect Star Wars! MTFBWY!! Garr out!"

Area report: Lafayette, IN
Hey Troops, I stopped at a couple of places today in Lafayette and West Lafayette. Target had the new speeders. I have to say that Hasbro did another horrible job on capturing Anakin's facial expressions. While not as bad as the "I am extremely constipated" Force Flipping Anakin, this new Swoop Bike Anakin looks like he is about to have a major accident. Wal-Mart on 52 had 6 of the TIE Bombers, but they were yet to be marked down on clearance. I have to admit the paint job looks nicer on the Saga version, but I'm not going to buy one unless they get marked down. No new figures to report at this time.

Sandtrooper Strongbad reports:
"Hey Jason, I dont know whether people care, but in Miami, FL I found most of the new toys so far like the Padme, Tusken Raider, Research Droids and a ton of Trash Compactors. My cousin found the new Mace Windu and is pretty happy with it. If anyone needs some new figures just let me know!"

Thanks Strongbad! Absolutely we care about these sightings, please keep them coming from gorgeous Miami! I'm sure many Troops are still searching, particularly for the Trash Compactors, so thanks for the kind assistance!

Sandtrooper Boba-Brett with a Dateline Follow-Up:
Now, a Dateline follow-up"Boba-Brett with a follow-up. I was able to check out my TRU & Kaybee. Tru had pegwarmers, Luke & Tauntaun (floorwarmers) and 12" Boussh Leia & Han Carbonite. Kaybee had the usual crap but did have the 4-packs with battle droid w/ background.(I know that seemed to be a more difficult fig to find for completist). Also they had all the playskool sets (except the Falcon), but I noticed the card backs they were on were smaller and the "Star Wars" title along top was smaller than the ones I have. Has anybody else noticed this? Throw me a mail if you have any info. Thanks and MTFBWY!"

Sandtrooper Thundahcrackah reports:
"Thanks to Trooper Larry and another great Trooper a week ago, I decided to stop in Allentown, PA South Mall Waldenbooks to pick up the ' Star Wars - Incredible Cross Sections ' book at the bargain price of $4.99 (originally $19.95). There were four there on the bargain table and three left after I got mine, along with a dozen or so of the ' Episode I Visual Dictionary,' showing up again after last Fall's appearance. The friendly clerk told me that they are also getting the Episode II titles, so keep checking Waldenbooks in the near future to see what's worth reading."

James is looking for BoShek and Ephant Mon, carded or loose complete, so let him know whether you can help him with either or both of those figures too!

Sandtrooper Dom reports:
"Yo Troops, I just wanted to say that I found both new bikes (Anakin's and Dooku's) at the local Target in east-central Wisconsin and these are pretty cool figs. I'm an opener and have mounted both bad boys on their hogs and while they look good, I was sorry to see that they needed seat belts. Oh well, I guess safety first is the rule in the outer rim. Also, got the new Boushh Leia and slab-o-Han at the local TRU. They have one left. No 12" robot hand Anakin or 12" Padme. MTFBWY."

Sandtrooper Lin Que with Mutual of Omaha's Aisle Kingdom:
"What's up Troops!! Lin Que with the Omaha, Nebraska report. Still no new Star Wars for 2003. I sometimes run into an Imperial Officer or two and mostly the trash wave 3 deluxe figs (flipping Anakin and Geonosian pod thingie). Deluxe Clone still proving hard to find (I got lucky and found 1 and haven't seen then since!!). I went across the river for a Council Bluffs Iowa run and it was just as pitiful. At Target I saw Action Fleet Slave 1 and Republic Assault ship (one apiece).

"Wal-Mart was choking with junk everyone probably has two or three of. The only redeeming quality was new Transformer Armada figs Thrust, Nightbeat, and Skywarp. They also had new Spider Man action figs and I picked up the ultra kool manga Spider-man. They had lots, so if anyone wants one let me know. Oh, our new Target in Bellevue, NE had Transformer Robots in Disguise Spy Changer for 74 cents !!! Again, any takers let me know. Hopefully this drought won't last long. Peace!"

"Hey Troops! Trace here in Austin, Texas with a serious lack of toys on my list. If anyone has seen the Trash Compactor sets, I need them. We have not seen them in Austin except for reports of 1 damaged set at the Hidden Hills Wal-Mart a month and a half ago. That, of course, has long since vanished leaving only empty shelves to restock with 12-inch Zam Wesells and Super Battle Droids. PLEASE help me to find these delicious sets! Keep the faith!!"

Sandtrooper 'Trooper Larry' reports:
"Hello Troops! Trooper Larry reporting from North East Ohio. For all you book readers out there, check your Waldens Book Stores to find out what's worth reading. I found the EP1 Visual Dictionary, and the vintage ships Incredible Cross Sections for $4.99 a piece. They also had the Classic Trilogy Visual Dictionary, and EP2, but at nearly 24 dollars, they were a bit outside my wallet's range. As for Toys 'R' Us, I did find an Ephant Mon, finally. They had the new 12" Wave, and 12" Leia and Han. Thats about it for that. I found the new Tusken at Wal-Mart. Thats it for here Troops. It's been pretty dry. Happy hunting!"

You Could Knock a Burglar Unconscious with this Thing if You Threw it Hard Enough- Ephant Mon SANDWATCH Review

Since someone out there actually found Ephant Mon again, here is the Sandtwatch review of the figure everyone loves to love.

This was a Fans' Choice figure that was one that actually pleased the fans. And if you didn't care for it you can wedge it under your door as a stop or put it in your car trunk during a snow storm, prisoners could even use a case of these figures to replace their current water weights in the thug jug. I don't think any of that will be necessary this time around however. The Endor nonsense ends with Ephant Mon.

Sandtrooper JimsJedi reports:
"Hey Troopa's (Boston Accent),I just wanted to give a holla on some new finds lately. Slowly but surely new things have been seen, mostly at Wal-Marts, still nothing but peg warmers at TRU and Target. I found all of the new figures except the Boba and Mace wave. And I will have the funds soon for the Shuttle (I missed out on this as a kid, so there's no way I'm missing out again).

"Can anyone help me find the Unleashed Tyranus and Mace? I cannot find these anywhere. Packaging is not that important since these will be opened. I have plenty to trade. Just shoot me an e-mail. Talk to you all soon. See ya!"

Sandtrooper Jedi Hitch reports:
"Hi Troops! Time to chime in with a report from the Spokane, WA area. Wal-Mart has been getting in more shipments of the new Action Fleet wave, as well as more Rebel Trooper and Imperial Officer figures and the new Library Droid assortment. Target has some more of the newer figures, but all they had left by the time I got there was Padme and Tusken. They have also marked down all of their 12" figs down to $13.98.

"Kmart is also getting the new figures in, as well as the recarded Teebo and Eeth Koth. For those of you who have a Shopko in your area they have the new Unleashed Vader and Leia. They're priced at $17.99 but they are having a buy 1 get 1 50% off sale through the 15th (the sale also includes all of the new Lego sets). Toys R Us is a pile of shame right now except for the new 12" figures. If it wasn't for the Series 3 Muppet figures they would really bomb. It's getting easier to find the newer figures around here, and I hope that everyone else starts having as good of luck as we are here. That's it for now."

Both Wal-marts and Target didn't have anything new. TRU had a lot of Unleashed Count Dooku, and the 12-inch Leia w/Han Solo in Carbonite."

I have 2 Jabba's Dancers cinema scenes, right out of a case in excellent condition, and the three beast sets from the re-release of the films: the Ronto with Jawa, Jabba with Han, and Dewback with Sandtrooper. The three beast sets all have one corner that is bent because of the box they were shipped to me in, and the back of Jabba's box is indented a little. Those three would be good for openers I'm sure. I would like to sell these for $10 each if anyone is interested. Thanks."

Sandtrooper Jetfire reports:
"Interstate Trip Report: On my trip to see Chewbacca and Logray, we stopped at a few stores in search of some of the newer figs!

Target (Rosemont, IL) - NOTHING!!!! A few Accessory sets, but nothing else besides that. Was more amused with the line of people outside to see The Undertaker next door than I was with Target's selection.

Walmart (St. Joe, MI) - Lots of Destroyer Droids and Clone Pilots!! I couldn't believe it. Here my local Wal-Marts are stocked with Zam Wesells and in a smaller town I find these gems. Also picked up a few Cantina sets in the Clearance Aisle for around $7 (can't remember exact amount).

Walmart (South Haven, MI) - Once again, a little town Wal-Mart has the goods. A ton of the Cantina sets!!! Not marked down, but there was a lot of them. Also had Destroyer droids and Yoda - Jedi Council. If you're in the area, hit this place up.

"Hope that helps some Sandtroopers out there! Anyone that still has an extra TIE Interceptor, please hit me up! Signing off!"

Sandtrooper Jedichirp reports:
"I stopped at the Greenwood, Indiana (Indy) Walmart this morning and found some of the new 2003 figs. I picked up the Tusken Raider, the 2-pack of Library Droids, and Lama Su with Clone. They also had Padme (droid factory) but the bubble and cards were all crushed. For someone that opens, I guess that would be OK. They also had the repacks of the Imperial Officer and the Rebel Trooper. I am still debating on whether to pick these up or not.

"I did notice one thing about the Imperial Officer. The previously released POTJ Imperial Officer had dark hair and you could see his eyebrows under the brim of his hat. That is also the picture that is on the new blue cards. But the Imperial Officer figure that was actually in the pack had blonde hair and the hat was lower on his head making his eyebrows covered. Just curious whether anyone else noticed this. I will probably pick one of those repacks up just for my Imperial Display. Good luck."

JC, you have the second Saga head sculpt version, or the third head sculpt to date. The first Saga head for the Officer depicted a young brown haired officer, while the one you found is the other one currently available.

"I finally found the Anakin and Tyranus Speeders at a Minnesota Target last night. They were the only two left and the boxes were pretty beat up, so these are definite 'openers.' Also, check out this story from Fox News. offerings and am working to the beginning of the line. There are no Unleashed figures in my area at all. I need help from any Troopers out there that can help me with an Unleashed Jango, Unleashed Maul and Unleashed Padme. Specifically, I am looking for these at sale
prices if possible. The card does not have to be mint because I open them. Hopefully someone out there can help me get these first offerings while helping clear the pegs for new arrivals. Please e-mail me if you can help out. Thanks troops!"

"Hey Troops, I see that the newer stuff is hitting in some areas. Well, there isn't diddly in my area in California. I did see a new Rebel Trooper at the local Target in West Hills, they still have a lot of the accessory packs and Light sabers too. I was wondering if any Trooper out there would help me out. I have read many post about the TIE bomber being marked down, and I haven't even seen this item in any of the stores in my area. Could some generous soul help out a fellow trooper and hook me up with one of these? The only thing that I have to trade is a Deluxe Clone Trooper, I would make up the difference of course. PLEASE!!! Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction - Episode 2.04
"K-Mart Exclusive Power of the Jedi Snoopy"

You thought I had run my course? You should have KNOWN better! - The artist formerly known as Frakes. Get it?
Is truth really stranger than fiction? And are you certain that you can actually discern between the two? General J is your host as you step forward into a world of happenings so bizarre they couldn't possibly be real ... could they?

"Within this hour we will tell you five stories, some real, some fake, you decide. Your call."

This one really gives me the creeps. Imagine, if you will, walking into your local K-Mart or Toys 'R' Us and finding "Fan Choice Figure - Watto," Power of the Jedi Queen Amidala, Power of the Jedi Snoopy or 12-inch Saga Queen Amidala in red dress ... It HAPPENED in our next story ...

"While on business last week I picked up two different 12-inch figures of Padme Amidala, both are boxed the same under the "Attack of the Clones" banner, however one is in a white outfit, the other is in a red gown which I did not have on my list. What gives?! Did I just make a mistake on my advance listing or what? I haven't seen this one listed anywhere. In July of 2001 the same thing happened on MULTIPLE occasions. I found several Power of the Jedi carded Watto, Queen Amidala Battle Fatigues, Mulan, and ... SNOOPY?! I even found a supposedly 'Fan Club-Exclusive" Carbon Freezing Chamber on the shelf! I don't understand! I want someone to pinch me and wake me up!"

So, what's going on here? Is this a dream, or the twisted version of reality found at your local K-Mart?"

"Wal-Mart in Springville, NY has the new reissued 3 Action Figures (I saw 5 Rebel Fleet Troopers), a few dozen of the Mini Lego Fleets, all 3 Older Cantina Sets at $3 each, the last wave of Action Figures, 12" Action Figures at $10 each, and Light Sabers. Wal-Mart in Hornell, NY has the New Action Fleets in Stock, a few of the Mini Lego Fleets, all 3 Older Cantina Sets for $10, and not much of anything else other than the Older Action Figures. Walmart in Corning, NY has nothing new (because half of the items are gone now), a few of the Mini Lego Fleets, all 3 Older Cantina Sets for $5, and found 10 Saga Tie Bombers for $15 now. MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU ALL."

Thanks for the Wal-Mart Two-Minute Drill! What have all of you Troopers been seeing at your Wal-Marts nationwide? Let us know whether YOUR store is discounting items like the TIE Bomber or Cantina figures, or is just letting the dust coat thicken.

Extensive Poll # 3 Results ( 6 February - 10 March 2003 )
No Star Wars movie is complete without the obligatory dismemberment! The third Extensive Poll asked which one was your favorite. Does a gushing Wampa armpit bring a smirk to your face, or do you prefer Vader 'one-fisting' it on the second Death Star? Maybe Zam's cleavage really melts your butter. Here are the results:

Which evisceration by light saber was your favorite?
Zam's arm on Coruscant (AOC) 1%
Anakin's dismembered right arm on Geonosis (AOC) 5%
Darth Maul's torso heap on Naboo (TPM) 22%
Ponda Baba's arm on Tatooine (ANH) 7%
Wampa's arm on Hoth (ESB) 3%
Luke's hand on Bespin (ESB) 26%
Darth Vader's hand on Death Star II (ROJ) 9%
Tusken Raider's head on Tatooine (AOC) 6%
Jango's head roll on Geonosis (AOC) 21%

Well, the three most dramatic on-screen dismemberments in the films got the most votes here too, with the most spectacular one of all from Cloud City being the favorite here. Darth Maul's splitting in Episode I came close and you have to admit that aside from being sliced stem to gutter, that there's nothing like a two-piece Sith Lord lying on the floor in a clutter!

Next up is the Shuttle Debacle from the FAO release. Some Troopers wrote in telling me they had gotten a case of the "Shuttle Shivers" from the dizzying ups and downs of this wild ride. What's bankruptcy got to do with it? Vote on this topic above in Extensive Poll No. 4.

Sandtrooper Winston reports:
"This is from Calgary, Canada Wal*Mart in Shawnessey. There has been a real dry spell out there in the stores. They have the Cantina set now down to $3, despite the reported $2. And even more amazing was a new (sic) figure: Anakin Skywalker - Tatooine Attack. There were only about 4 on the pegs and they were buried among Endor soldiers (bearded) and Han Solo's. So, I figure we're about 8-9 months off of our US counterparts. Has anyone in Canada seen Action Fleet Wave 2 yet?"

Sandtrooper 'Trooper Larry' reports:
"Whats up troops? Trooper Larry reporting from N.E. Ohio. Nothing new in the area in sometime. TRU has the 12" Leia and Han Carbonite, and thats about it. Nothin else to report troops, good luck in the hunt.

"I want to reply to Sandtrooper Gerald. The reason most of us "worse than scalpers," stop before 9 a.m, is because we are on our way to work. For the amount of dollars collectors shell out, I can not blame people who do not open there figuress or for complaining about damaged cards. Many of us try to get the newer figs first, that way we do not have to pay astronomical prices from the scalpers. Mind you, I just watched a Bariss Offee, Lama Su, and Aayla Secura auction go for 50 some dollars.

"Many of us have tried to explain to our children why they didn't get a certain figure. Yet, many of us don't quit collecting because of this reason. We only look harder in stores, or through sites like Sandtroopers to obtain these figures. If you had any common sense, you would realize that the people buying figs in TRU and other stores are buying them for their kids. One last note. These toys not only give our children a chance to dream, but it reminds adults what it is like to be a child. I'm sorry some have lost or forgotten how to do that."

Sandtrooper Kevin in Columbus, OH reports:
"Not much new to report here in Columbus, Ohio. Wal-Mart on Morse Road (Easton) still has some of the saga TIE Bombers, some of the 12-inch figues clearanced at 7 bucks - boxes pretty banged up - good for openers.

"Meijer on 161 and Cleveland Ave had some of the Deluxe Clone Troopers with Speeder Bikes - I picked up a couple if any trooper would like to trade - check out my list in the forums under username onebigk!"

A Different Point of View from Sandtrooper Gerald:
"Here is a piece for all of the viewers. I can't believe people are writing about hiding figures and torn cards. It angers me and caused me to stop collecting a while ago. Some, if not most, of the members here are the same and worse than scalpers. They are there at 7am or 8am or 9am, traveling from one store to another and crying about creases, and bubble dents or how they were beat to the score by a scalper.

"Grow up, they are toys. One day you will grow up and have kids and be one of the unlucky few who cannot score a Clone Trooper or Yoda for your son or daughter, especially around the Holidays. Try explaining that one to your child. Explain how the avid 25 - 30 year old with a job as a gas station clerk beat you to the store to grab his / her favorite fig because you had to be at work at 8am.

"Or will you be one of the morons spotted frequently at TRU and Target who stock up on Star Wars goodies for yourself while your child cries in the cart because you don't have enough money to spend on them? Seen you toooo many times. You people seem to forget they are for toys intended on expanding the dreams and adventures of children. I am sorry to say I joined this cult of misfits. Stop hiding toys Troopers. If you cannot afford them leave them for someone who could. What a bunch of losers. Thank you."

Star Wars: Realities Behind the Myth
Troops, Sandtrooper R4-M9 directed me to the Canadian Discovery channel's website and a Star Wars Tech Quiz based on real-life empirical formulas of Star Wars technology. Here is an excerpt from their Star Wars gateway page. Click the image below to view the site.

Can fans trust the science they see in Star Wars? Could the cloned army introduced in 'Episode II' be a real possibility? And what about the Force? Take a look at some Force-like ideas in studies in parapsychology and an ancient Chinese philosophy called Taoism. Want to get a hold of a real-life lightsaber? We went to the experts to find out how to make one. Then there is the Chicago-based Gas Research Institute that's using the most powerful lasers to drill through the planet's mantle and get at the goodies inside.

Ever wondered what it'd be like to be behind the controls of a floating aircraft like Luke Skywalker's landspeeder? Take a ride on the Avrocar, a home-grown Canadian version. Are sublight drives and hyperdrives in the future of real space travel? Can a planet really orbit twin stars like Tatooine does? Cantina Sets for $2
Hey Troopers, If any of you Canadian troopers out there have been waiting to buy the Cantina sets, now is the time. Wal-Mart has them on clearance for $2 Canadian.
Other than that the only other news up here in Canada is that some Zellers stores have been getting the deluxe Yoda/C-3PO wave and a few Wal-Marts have gotten in the Maul/Tatooine Anakin and Pilots Waves. So we are slowly catching up with the U.S. No sign of an Ephant Mon yet though and rumour has it he will not be showing up on a tri-logo card. Take care troops.

Ten O'Clock News: K-B Stuffing the Star Wars section:
Southeast PA K-B's are adding more merchandise to their Star Wars area, but in addition to the old items I reported earlier this week, now they are digging deep with more stuff you already have. Today they had an abundance of $49.99 Republic Gunships, more of the same Saga four packs for $9.99, "Hall of Zam" - the basic figure pegs now literally BRISTLING with this April 23rd figure, Electronic 12-inch Obi-Wan for $19.99, Unleashed Darth Maul and Jango/Boba figures reduced to $9.99 each. Try four cases worth of Zam and Anakin speeders on for size for $14.99 each, Jango Fett blasters, or even more boatloads of $4.99 25th Anniversary two-packs (no Vader vs. Obi). You can also find the Saga Ask Yoda and lots of Jedi Starfighters with Obi-Wan, like I said - stuff you REALLY already have. As mentioned by Trooper JEDI COR, K-B restocked here too with two cases of Ninja Turtles.

Sandtrooper JEDICOR reports:
"Hello Troops, Wal-Mart in the Corning/Horsehead Area doesn't have anything new, but very little of any Star Wars items. The Corning Wal-Mart still has 4 Saga TIE Bombers and haven't seen the trash compactor sets yet. Kmart in the Area is just the same as Wal-Mart, really bad for us Fans and Collectors. Target in Henrietta, NY have the same old stuff and the toy section clerk doesn't know when they will get the new items.

"K-B Toys have their prices back to normal. They have restocked on the Playskool items and 4 packs. They still have a large section of the last wave of 3 " and 12" Action Figures. I talked to the Assistant Manager and he said the New Items might be in the store next month.

"TRU has a large section of Action Figures, tons of yellow Gunship Pilots, Jango Fett Pilots, Destoyer Droids, and Amidala pilots. 5 R2-D2's, 1 Luke X-wings, 8 Arena Playsets at $45, 16 Slave I's, 5 12" Luke and Tauntaun, different Color Lightsabers, 1 Leia Boushh Disguise, Older Action Fleets, 12" Figures, and other miscellaneous items. All prices are still normal prices except for a few selected items.

"I hope someday the stores in New York State will start getting the new items in soon, or I am going to use my lightsaber to take care of business and turn over to the dark side of the Force. Us fans in this state are still waiting to get our hands on the new items, so we don't have to use the Internet to get everything, especially from those high price scalpers. Also KB Toys and TRU have restock on the Ninja Turtles Action Figures. MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU ALL!!!!"

Sandtrooper Code Name: CHUCKLES asks:
"I wanted to see if any Troopers could help me out. I am still trying to get a nicely carded Ephant Mon and a holiday two pack. If anyone can help me out, please email me. Thanks."

This guy should be a laugher. I mean, he is cast in pastels and looks like he is drunk. Chuckles is the perfect prisoner figure. The pastel shirt is pretty close to prison blue and his legs are pretty barren. (Except for that knife, but I pretend it is not there.) The drunk look on his face could also be taken as sadness for a life lost to a long prison term.

Sandtrooper Jm reports:
"Hello, I live in the central Texas area and it has been pretty much dry in this area for some time now. About a week ago I did find some new 2003 Collection 2 figures but only 1 of each. One thing I would like to know is whether Ephant Mon is showing up in other parts of the country in great quantities. As far as in this area, I have never seen him on pegs, although I do know he has shown up because the store manager told me, but he also said that one person bought them all (I suspect scalper scum, we don’t need their kind). I have been waiting it out to see if he shows up again. I hope that this figure will not be like the last waves of Episode I, which I also never saw on the pegs in this area (again, scalpers). I hope that within time this figure will show up in greater quantities, especially since he is a Fan’s Figure Choice.

"I wanted to see if anybody out there needs a POTJ Imperial Officer and POTJ Rebel Fleet Trooper. I have only sold/traded once using Sandtroopers and it was a long time ago. I responded to someone needing a figure. About the POTJ Imperial Officer and Rebel Fleet Trooper they would be cost plus shipping. Thanks for your help and having a great site, I visit it every day."

Thanks Jm. I do know that case assortments containing Ephant Mon have run their course, for the most part that is. I'm sure a Trooper can help you get a hold of him. Likewise, I will bet that a fellow Trooper could really use the Power of the Jedi versions of the Rebel Fleet Trooper and Imperial Officer. Thanks much for the great report!

Sandtroopette Donna reports:
"Hi, Troopette Donna checking in from Southern California. Finally, something new. Found the Dooku and Anakin with Speeder Bikes at Target. Other than that, nothing at Wal-mart, K-B, K-mart or TRU except peg warmers. By the way, does any fellow trooper have an extra Lego Mini Tie Fighter for trade/sale? Please e-mail me if you do. Happy Hunting to all."

Sorry you missed the free online Lego Mini TIE Fighter Donna. These are arriving this week, so if a Trooper has one to spare, please contact her.

Sandtrooper Jedi Dom reports:
"Jedi Dom here, not much out here in Southern CA. That is, however, not to say that I did not find anything new, there is just not much of it. I work in Temecula and live in Hemet. About 35 miles separates the two and in between lie 2-3 towns each with a Target, one with a Walmart, one with a Toys 'R' Us. Got off work early and decided to hit them up. In Murrieta at the Walmart, not much except an action fleet AT-AT. I think I will keep my original one thank you. The only thing different on this is that the stand is white, and there is paint splattered all over it to look like snow. They did happen to have the new Obi Wan & Dooku, but there were only two left.

"Toys "R" Us had the 12" Boushh Leia's, not much else, Target had all the new rehashes except for the Imperial Officer. I passed, already had the POTJ versions which are good enough for me. They did have one Library Droids which I was able to score, nothing else. In Menifee, I stopped at the Target and was again able to find all the re-hashes, save the Officer, but I was also able to locate the Tusken Raider and Padme to complete that wave as well. The Target and K-B in Hemet have absolutely nothing, but the Wal-Mart had the Republic Cruiser and Slave 1 action fleets. No sign of the republic gunships which I am still looking for. Sorry to be so long, good luck to everyone in their finds."

Dom, you were the wind in Dooku's Solar Sails, but we loved hearing every word of it! That's what it's ALL about! Every Trooper is encouraged to send in these accounts, send one to today!

Sandtrooper Sergio asks:
"First of all I wanted to tell everyone at that this a great page for all the Star Wars collectors out there! I am a long time reader, first time writing in to My question is that a couple of months ago I remember reading a tip from a fellow Trooper about being able to use toothpaste to help clean vintage Star Wars toys, help remove scratches on blister for carded figs, and (I think?) help with the yellowing factor on vintage ships?!?! I don't think I was dreaming, but who knows? Does anyone at remember this, and if so, could it be reposted or sent to me by email? I would really appreciate it! Thanks."

Back in early December we had a discussion about Toothpaste and the Bar Keepers Friend. Read on:

Here is a way to take out the minor flaws and scuffing on the bubbles and plastic windows on the figures and vehicle boxes. Use toothpaste and a cotton ball and gently buff out the imperfection, when you're done buffing just wipe away the paste with a damp cloth. This also works for the clear plastic canopies on the ships and vehicles. Brings a whole new meaning to "minty mint," sorry, couldn't resist.

Using toothpaste as a toy cleaner is a very good idea, it makes sense since it is a cleaning paste that would be soft enough to not harm clear window plastic. I used a product called Barkeeper's Friend to clean up my old Imperial Shuttle. It is a powder that's similar to kitchen cleanser, and is designed to be soft so as not to scratch chrome or other items (you might find in a kitchen or bar to clean stainless steel). You wet it and it essentially becomes a paste, which removes dirt and those odd yellow colored marks you get on plastic toys. It cleaned up my Shuttle like it was fresh out of the box, cleaning off nearly all the marks. The same product was used by Tom Cruise in the film "Cocktail."
Cruise is in his element once again, flashing a super-grin at every female within a 20 mile radius, and, more importantly, using Bar Keepers Friend to clean his cockpit. Overall, it's ridiculous, but Cocktail is a real classic of the late-80s self-help moviemaking genre.

Caution: If you do not properly wet it, it could be abrasive enough to leave some mark. Test it first before diving into a project. You should be able to get Barkeeper's Friend at most stores.

Troopers Lee and Darth Skellington put brush to plastic to bring you these tips - Slammin'! Now, here's a twist (no pun intended). On behalf of, here is a free sample of Bar Keepers Friend, try it out and tell us how it works!
Forget Children's Cough Syrup, THIS is the REAL Bartender's Friend!

Sandtrooper Jason reports:
Okay Troopers, here's the Ten O'Clock news from my neck of the woods. After fellow Trooper Thundercracker checked in, I thought I'd scope out the Allentown Chase, PA haunts. Remember how K-B was pouring salt in the wound? Well the salting continues with South Mall K-B getting in older items in lieau of newer ones (e.g. Destroyer Droid yo-yo, Episode I glow-in-the-dark wall clings, Ultimate Jango at $19.99, AOTC Wave 1 figures, and AOTC 12-inch). K-mart is good if you are a termite freak - they had dozens of Geonosian Warriors, and if you want a companion to fetch termite slippers, well, they had dozens of Geonosians with Massiffs too. Is this a re-run of the situation comedy on the Enchanted Island of Puerto Rico? Come on, this is supposed to be the States here. Unreal Troops! K-Mart did have three cases of TMNT however, a Turtle motorcycle, and the newer GI Joes, but I question the validity of a Ripper Dreadnok with pork chop sideburns and another character's chainsaw with a big sound chip in it. This is what Hasbro is pumping into the aisles at the moment. The week's highlight was getting my free Lego Mini TIE Fighter in the mail.

Stay focused and don't relent Troops, April and May will see a big change in the stuff in the aisle like it does every year. Think back to the February/March timelines in recent years past and hopefully it will all start making sense.

Sandtrooper Jeditaz reports:
"Trooper Jeditaz here, just to let you all know I have been working at the infamous Wally World as an assistant manager for about a month now in Salisbury MD, and I finally figured out why we aren't getting any newer figures. We showed an on hand count of 85 and only had 21 there. If I were any of you out there who can't find the new figures, ask the Toy department manager to check their on hands for star wars figures and you may be surprised to find out they cant reorder anything new due to the fact that they have a supposedly excessive quantity of them on hand. Just a tip and hope it helps. Signing out ... Unite ... end transmission."

Thanks for the tip 'Taz! Now Troops, don't get your hopes up TOO high. Let's conduct an exercise in empirical proof - try this out! But, don't expect to find associates or managers as readily helpful as 'Taz out there, and don't expect other stores to be off in their inventory to such a great degree. Maybe Salisbury's discrepancy is due to the Wal-Mart's lackluster Loss Prevention Department(sic) not noticing 'four-finger' discounts in the toy dept?

Sandtrooper Hotjeep reports:
"Long time since anything new. News from Lower Michigan, Wal-Mart is sitting on TIE Bombers for full price. Toys 'R' Us just got POTJ figures Teebo, BoShek, and R4-M9. I think this is their first time getting these figures. I'm looking for an R2-D2 and C-3PO Holiday Edition MOMC for cost or trade. They never hit this area. MTFBWY"

Trooper Jetfire has also infomed me that his Lower Michigan Wal-Marts likewise have not reduced the TIE Bombers price. Are you Troops seeing this elsewhere across the nation? Let us know!

Force of the Bay
Spiceowan back from another sweep of the World's Online Marketplace, known to all as ebay. I went to pieces after seeing this beauty. I featured a vintage Death Star part a while back and received a lot of responses on it. Seems many were at the end of their rope. You can find deals such as this. Fourteen vintage figures that appear to be in very good condition. This little guy is real cheap for a starting bid. I have seen many pay more for POTF versions. Even the Great Sacul is not immune to the low prices of neither endorses ebay or the sellers featured in this column. Excercise good judgement and use caution. I research the sellers' feedback before they are posted here. I recommend Troops do the same before making any purchases. Good Luck Troops, Kick A$% and take names.

Sandtrooper Jedichirp reports:
"As of Monday (03-03-2003), 3 TIE Bombers can still be found at the Greenwood, IN Walmart. They also had 3 Clone Deluxe figs w/bike and 3 Deluxe Geonosian Warriors. Good luck!"

Sandtrooper Big MACC reports:
"Greetings Troopers & Troopettes, I have good news for Albuquerque Troops. I passed by the Target on Montgomery and Wyoming yesterday and found new figures. I found all four of the rehashes from the POTJ line (Teebo, Rebel Trooper, etc...) and the Library Droids, Padme Factory, and the new Tusken Raider. Unfortunetly, all that is left after my purchases, are the rehashes, Padmes, and Tusken Raiders. I have yet to see Obi-Wan or the Count, but did see a Yoda & Destroyer Droid at the Wal-Mart on Eubank & Academy. The Wal-Mart mentioned in the latter also has four TIE Bombers available. TRU is as bare as a bone. It contains a sea of Jango Pilots watching hopelessly for a master to take them home. In conclusion, the new cases seem to be hitting at random, and when New Mexico gets a hit, everyone should follow real soon. MTFBWY, always - Trooper Big MAC"

Footnote: Trooper Big MACC reporting reminded me of Pat Parson's full coke can launching air cannon project - the Big M.A.C.C. So for some mayhem in your neighborhood, check out the details and build one yourself. Feel free to use the contraption to terrorize scalpers. Getting beamed in the noggin with a baked potato might make them reconsider their lifestyle.

Sandtrooper Corran Horn reports:
"Hey troopers, no new ’03 figs have hit in Ashland, Kentucky, but I hear they’ve been seen in Lexington and Louisville. I have an extra Shuttle that I bought from FAO NY (I got on 2 lists ways back in ’02 to make sure I got one). Anyway, let me know whether you need it. Condition is perfect and I have the FAO box too, the bad part is that FAO charged me $150.00 after shipping (whew!). Anyway, I have an extra if anyone needs it. Thanks. Corran Horn Out."

Sandtrooper Dark Steve reports:
"Hey Troops, Dark Steve reporting in from Ashtabula, Ohio. Nothing new at Wal-Mart & K-mart in weeks. I need your help Troops. I'm interested in buying a complete Boba Fett costume online from a site called The Prop Palace. Has anyone dealt with this company? Are they a good source for costumes or are there any other sources out there? They have some very nice costumes, all different kinds too! They are not located in the U.S.A. so I'm a little afraid to shell out my dough to a site overseas. Please give me some info, Halloween is just around the corner."

I paid the site a visit. I do also know that Prop Palace has affiliated dealers WITHIN the U.S. so dig a little deeper for the comfort of dealing within our nation. Has anyone PERSONALLY dealt with them? With only eight months left until Halloween, we'll need a FAST answer here, no dilly-dallying!

Latest NJO review posted
Hey Troops, my latest review has been posted. This one is for Remnant, the newest novel in the NJO series. This marks the 1st book in a new trilogy. Also, this is the 15th of 19 NJO novels. By the end of this year, the NJO will be over. Del Rey will continue to produce Star Wars stories, but they will most likely focus on the Clone Wars for the forseeable future. To check out my review of Remnant click here.

Headspin, Dolphin oh yeah.

Sandtrooper RMS reports from The Enchanted Island:
"Hi Troops, Trooper RMS from Puerto Rico, basically reporting the same as many US troopers. 2003 is a non-movie year and retailers are showing that they are movie oriented when it comes to stocking Star Wars toys. KB's here also raised the price a buck on their figures (from $5.99 to $6.99) and it's not because there are new figures on their pegs. TRU aisles are becoming THE HALLS OF ZAM, since that's the only figure there warming the pegs. K-Marts have run pathetically dry and then our Wal-Marts are not even bringing their US exclusives. A new Wal-Mart Super Center opened last week and the only Star Wars related merchandise there were a few Lego assortments. They are obviously holding on to their grudge on Star Wars after the Episode I first degree pegwarmer burns they sustained in 99.

"I'm very afraid these newer waves might become the Sio Bibbles and Amidala Battles of 2003, so if you ever see any new figures at retailers, just hang on to them for dear life!!! 'Til things get better, have a great day and happy hunting!!!"

New book today
Hey Troops, I wanted to let you know that Tatooine Ghost by Troy Denning hit the shelves of your favorite book stores today. This story finds Han, Leia, Chebacca and C-3PO on their way to Tatooine to find a painting that may conceal what the Empire needs to defeat the New Republic. During the trip, Leia makes some shocking discoveries about her dark heritage that may change her, and the galaxy, forever. OK, I know that sounds a bit corny since we already know how everything turns out, but Troy Denning is an excellent author. I think it will be worth the time.
Headspin, Dolphin oh yeah.

Sandtrooper Thundahcrackah reports:
"After seeing K-B raising their Saga figure prices from $4.99 to $5.99 and more reports of it here at Sandtroopers, I thought perhaps they were setting up to get a new shipment, thus selling new figures as well as old at the new price. Well, at the Allentown, PA K-B the same figures abounded and to add insult to injury they put out two cases of Zam and Anakin Speeders at $14.99 each. Unless you've been living under a large rock you have already gotten these ships, probably at clearance! In all fairness, K-B did get another two cases of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (4x each turtle, 2x Shredder, 1x Splinter and Foot Soldier), and still had a set of Simpons Series 11 on the pegs and stranger yet - Mayor "Diamond" Joe Quimby playsets! For He-Man freaks, there were new Bashin Beetles on the floor too."
Headspin, Dolphin oh yeah.

Sandtrooper Larry reports:
"Hey Troops and Troopettes. Trooper Larry reporting from N.E. Ohio. Let me just start by saying that I am losing faith in my local stores. Wal-mart has been the only place I have found new figs. Now mind you, just mind you, that was a month ago. TRU has cut their stock to a small section in the middle aisles. KB has nothing new, and jacked the price up to 5.99 a figure. I am boycotting my local K-mart.

"Troops, I don't know what's going on, but quite frankly, I think Hasbro, and retail stores owe us an explanation. Hunting for new figs, is the only peace I get from the everyday worries of life. I am displeased with the way collectors are being treated. Enough of my complaining. Good luck troops."

I'd like to take a momemt to give a Sandtroopers SALUUUTE to Trooper Larry for helping me get my Be-Sharps Homer figure and hooking me up with that rhyming fool Boom Box - Autobot Blaster. Now I just have to get my plastic mat and take it to the streets to do some breakdancing ...
Headspin, Dolphin oh yeah.

Sandtrooper Jimmy1236 reports:
"In Poughkeepsie, NY stores are mostly dry. A local K-Mart has leftovers from the April release last year, plus a few new deluxe figures. The Toys 'R' Us has a large variety of Saga figures up to the Destroyer Droid, but no Yodas, as well as some preview figures that they recently put out. These are the only two places I have been able to visit over the past week, so I have no idea on Wal-Mart or K-B, but I wouldn't bet on anything considering the usual selection at those stores."

Sandtrooper Marc needs Tyranus Unleashed:
"I am only missing Darth Tyranus Unleashed. I went to K-B last weekend and found the Mace Windu unleashed for 9.99. If you could put a post out there that I need one, can you? Thanks"

Consider it done my friend. A crack team of Sandtroopers Patrol (this means YOU fellow Troopers!) has been dispatched to help you get that Tyranus. Slammin!

Sandtrooper Alexwing_pilot reports:
"Hi Troopers, I am in south Texas close to the border (McAllen, TX), there is nothing new around here, no 2003 figs, yet. Just some Trash Compactor Sets and Destroyer Droids, Clone Pilots, etc. Also in Mexico (I go there often), there is nothing new, just the 4-pack and old Saga figures. Take care!!"

Thanks for the report from the Outer Rim! Keep them coming Troops! Submit your reports and trades, wants/haves to, and take a stance against the ruthless terrorist scalper organization determined to rule the toy aisle!

"Hi Troops, I might be able to score yet another FAO Shuttle. They sent me two and now are offering me a third. You have to act quick, though. It will cost $140 plus shipping. Email me ASAP if you're interested. Also, I had a great time talking with Lord Spiceowan. Spicy, you're good in my book. Keep the Force, folks."

I know a Trooper is out there who wasn't able to get the Shuttle through FAO or online, so here's a great chance! Also, Dom, I'm glad you got the chance to speak with perhaps the most dangerous man involved with Star Wars on the internet today!

Sandtrooper Kevin in Columbus reports:
"Wal-Mart in Columbus, OH on Morse Road had the Action Fleet Slave 1, Republic Gunship and Assault ship. They also had 5 of the new Saga packaged TIE Bombers. This store recently reset the toys taking them from the front aisle and putting them back in with the other action figures. They were taking down the 4 ft long header signs and I was able to get all three of them. I asked the right person at the right time (have a picture of them), and they are now hanging in my family room. The Easton Wal-Mart on Morse Road here in Columbus, Ohio also had some of the older 12-inch figures on clearance for 9.00.

"Toys 'R' Us has the Exclusive Princess Leia and Han Solo Carbonite block. Nothing new at Target or K-B. The K-B did raise their action figures from 4.99 to 5.99. Not much else to report."

"If you are looking for vintage items check out texastoytrader. on ebay. I was able to pick up some items at good prices and even traded some of my stuff for what I won."

Sandtroopers global invasion continues... WAR on scalpers!
Sandtroopers' own Brigadier General Jason and Chief Warrant Officer Spiceowan are rallying the troopers for a MASSIVE news blast that will ensure that everyone gets Saga figures as well as this year's CLONE WARS figures. Sandtroopers needs YOUR help! Only by sharing news and offering to help out the unfortunate troopers in the outer rim territories (you know, like Yuma Arizona, ect ...) can this be accomplished. As America continues it's war on terrorism, Sandtroopers continues it's war on scalping. Start your own fight today and show some love! (Yeah, something like that ...)

Cobra Commander (still) rules the Collectable Galaxy with an Iron fist and raspy voice. Join him and Sandtroopers in a quest to bayonet scalpers deftly in the rib cage.

The Clone Wars starts off with a splash!
Hey Troops, my latest review has just been posted. This one covers the newest issue of Republic that came out this past week. Issue # 50 is the first Star Wars release covering the Clone Wars since AOTC itself. This is just the beginning of what should be an exciting couple of years. If the fine people working on continuing the Clone Wars story can keep up the excellent work they started off with, we are all in for an excellent trip. Click here to read my review.

Sandtrooper Ryan the Hutt reports:
"Hello everyone, I got an extra Imperial Shuttle in the mail the other day (that I don't remember ordering) and I really don't need two. I figured I would give anyone who is interested in it a shot before I sent it back to FAO. I just need to cover my cost plus shipping. If you live in or near the Grand Rapids MI. area we could also meet up. I know its gonna be expensive so I would definately consider a trade or cash/ trade deal. I would really like an interactive R2-D2 if anyone has seen one on clearance, I need the trash compactor sets (MIMB please), and I still need a MOC Ephant Mon. Take care all!"

A very greatful trooper...
Trooper Rafael Vazquez from Puerto Rico wrote in to thank trooper Jorge Perez in Boston. ''Rafy'' was coming home empty handed on his quest for the Ephant Mon figure. ''It was amazingly fast. I got a response from someone willing to help after placing a post here at In less than 30 minutes Jorge Perez came to the rescue. A very trustworthy person to deal with!!'' Rafy pointed out.

Well troops, another example that is a great outlet to fill-in our collecting gaps no matter where we are. United we find, United we stand. and UNIFY! Use the real site, accept no generic ones.

Darth Tyranus SANDWATCH Review

Spiceowan was recruited by someone called 'Tyranus' to review his new Geonosian Escape action figure. Only problem was that he didn't count on the fact that the review would portray him as another pedestrian, lackluster entry in the Saga series.

Count Dooku was a charismatic leader who could sway the opinions of prominent figureheads in the Galactic business world. So why does his latest figure have the personality of a cold fish?
