Collections Gallery: dustrho's UpdatedThe Collections Gallery gets another update as I have taken several new photos of my Star Wars collection. Instead of viewing just over fifty photos you now get to look at more than 190! Sure, I went crazy with the camera this morning, but it's been a long time since I last updated my collection gallery. Some of the most recent purchases include the Endor AT-AT, Imperial Shuttle, Saga Comic 2-packs and more! Check it out here, and be sure to share your feedback about it over in the forums.

Gentle Giant Busts: Chewbacca & Max Rebo
Gentle Giant Busts: Chewbacca & Max ReboFellow staff member Boba Binks has added two new sets of images to the Gentle Giant Mini-Bust section. The newest additions include Chewbacca and quite an interesting character. Gentle Giant's holiday item this year is Max Rebo at his Red Ball Organ wearing a Santa hat and little Christmas lights that light up while he is playing the classic "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" carol. This is limited to just 200 pieces and not available to the general public. Check out these new images and the rest of the mini-busts here.

Sandwatch Update: Sideshow 12-inch Darth Maul Exclusive
At last REVENGE!We update our Sandwatch Menu once again and this time it's a true delight in the form of Darth Maul. The Hasbro version back in 1999 wasn't too bad but you can really see where Sideshow went the extra mile. The Lords of the Sith line is not giving fans much time to decide if they would like to own the exclusive pieces. They're being sold out at a rapid pace and Sandtrooper Josh and Boba Binks put together a this page with the details.

Sandtrooper Tim Reports:
“Just wanted to let you know the latest finds here in Memphis...Went to Wal-Mart Tuesday expecting to find nothing at all, but instead there were the comic book 2 packs.... there were only 1 of each set left and at $9.88 each I snapped those right up. Today I went to Toys R Us, which hasn’t had anything in MONTHS... but today there were 14 count ‘em 14 pegs full of new figures! It was mostly wave 8 with holographic Cody. I couldn't believe all the figures that they had. There had to have been at least 10 cases put up on the shelves. Then went to Wal-Mart on Germantown Pkwy and there was the Modal Nodes boxed sets. All in all a great couple of days.”

Attack Frigate!Attack Frigate: This is not an official SW starship, though some design elements were derived from the Venator. The light gray with dark gray and dark red markings signifies Republic colors during ROTS and beyond. Several of this minifig scale attack frigate were used in a convoy during the Clone Wars as escorts to the Venator but faster, deadlier, carried and deployed frontline regiments of clonetroopers. Sandtrooper Jedimaster-C Reports:
Is Hasbro still making this?“Hey Troops, I wanted to let you know that I found the new all 3 Comic Packs at Wal-Mart this morning. They had one case of them, which had Vader/Capt Antilles, Tarkin/Stormtrooper (which I bought) and the Han Stormtrooper/Chewie. The Tarkin/Stormtrooper I liked the best. The Han Stormie/Chewie looks cool but Han was the main figure in the set. At least they have shown up. TRU is completely out of stuff. Hopefully this is a good thing for the New Year!”

ITLOF: From Kamino to Chicago
He'll do his job, I promise! Our S.C.A.L.P. Weapons Supplier has unloaded his latest salvo and this time he's engaged in the hot topic of Star Wars costuming. With the participation from the 501st Legion in this year's Rose Bowl Parade, which could lead to some questions from curious Star Wars collectors who have aspirations of persperations. For most people who are part of the various groups the show is over once your helmet or mask comes off. Sandtrooper SoCal Dom Reports:
Seasoned Vet!“Well hello fellow troopers! Happy Holidays. It has definitely been awhile for me since I last posted here. As some of you may remember, I was going through a change in my colleting habits. Mainly, I was dropping Hasbro, and going with Gentle Giant & Kotobukiya. Well it has been a good decision for me and my collection is growing. I hope to have it all displayed soon and hopefully pictures will follow. As a result of switching from Hasbro, I decided some time ago to sell off most if not all of my Hasbro items. The forums have been a great opportunity to do so, and as a result, many items have sold. I still have a ton of stuff left and I invite you to visit my posts in the classifieds to see if there is anything there that may fill a void in your collection, or you may be looking for duplicates. Eventually, I will also be posting individual 3 3/4-inch figures, however I only plan on selling complete sets (POTJ, Episodes. I, AOTC, SAGA, ROTS, etc.) I have most if not all variations of each figure since Episode I but ask that if you are interested to please drop an email or me a PM. I want to help a lot of you out since most of you have done the same for me over the years. Hope to hear from a lot of you. Good luck as well on your daily hunts!”

Is Eragon blowin' Smoke?
Use the Force Eragon! For all of you that are going to embark on a journey to go see the new movie Eragon, be forewarned, you may feel a little deja vu. The summary posted at the Herald-Dispatch.com compares the similar storylines shared with Star Wars. While most fans enjoy any good adventure movie, the critique honestly made me second-guess if I was going to be taking this one in at the theatre. Is it enough to make you decide there are better places to spend twenty-five dollars?

Sandtrooper Steve Reports:
“Hi everyone! Today at TRU in Colorado Springs, Co., I found the first wave of 2007 vehicles: Darth Vader's Sith Starfighter, Hailfire Droid, and Trade Federation AAT. TRU also had 4 Saga #37 Sandtroopers, 2 #45 Darth Vaders, 4 #41 Death Star Gunners, and 5 #52 Gragras, as well as the usual pegwarmers. For some reason they also had quite a few figures from Waves 1-4, such as: #1 Leia in Boushh Disguise, #5 Chewbacca Boushh's Prisoner, #14 Power Droid, #21 Scorch Republic Commando, and #26 Utapau Clone Trooper. Super Target and Wal-Mart had pretty much the same from Waves 1-4, and S.T. also had 2 #47 Obi-wan Kenobi, and 1 #49 Rep Been, which I snagged in addition to an Obi-wan. Target did not have any Kit Fisto Starfighters, Imperial Shuttles, or Rogue 2 Snowspeeders. Wal-Mart had 1 Cantina Band tin set otherwise they had nothing new. United We Find!”

Dewback Patrol: Bridgeview Toy Show
No Jawas were left alive after THIS event! The Dewback Patrol is making tracks once again to the ToyCon Charity Toy Show in Bridgeview, IL. The phrase diamond in the rough comes to mind if you were able to make it past the semi-Hoth like temperatures of the Chicagoland area. For the Midwest Garrison it was just another day at the office as they helped benefit the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation. Darth Spice enlisted the help of his former mentor to handle the task of photos. There was quite a large group on hand to help pack the punch from Vader’s fist! From bricks to Maquettes! It looks like Gentle Giant has once again put together a very unique product to add to your collections. The first two in the series of Maquettes will consist of Darth Vader and Stormtrooper. They will include interchangeable heads, something I really liked about the video games. They have announced the edition sizes for these pieces as well. They are close to finishing up the prototype stage, I'm sure many Gentle Giant collectors will look forward to something a little different. These are up for pre-order at StarWarsShop.com. Sandtrooper Barbereli Reports:
“Good Evening Troopers, Just wanted to report my find this morning, hit the jackpot! My Wal-Mart here in Redlands Ca. had every figure of the latest wave all the clones, Darth Maul, Kit Fisto, Battle Droids, Holograpic Cody. I filled up a shopping cart of figures for my two nephews, and myself so we each got one of every figure. They still had tons of figures just piled on the shelf, so many that the pegs could not hold anymore, I hope they still have lots left for all the troopers in this area, but I have a feeling the clones will move pretty quick, Good Luck to all on your hunts!”

Another Chance to Get in a Movie
I posted about a documentary that was being filmed in Illinois about a week ago. This morning I received an email from one of the people involved with this project, asking me to post this bit of news:

"The documentary The Force Among Us is looking for fans who wish to be interviewed for possible feature in a positive documentary about Star Wars fans. Written, produced, and directed by Cris and Courntey Macht, the filmmakers are now going to Florida to meet Star Wars fans. Fans 18 years of age or older, or younger fans accompanied by their parents or guardians, are asked to email Cris Macht at mandolorianmkting@sbcglobal.net for details about the Star Wars documentary. The documentary crew will be at Cape Coral, Florida, December 16 and 17, 2006."

So if you live in that area around Florida, and want to get in on this great opportunity, here's your chance. Tell 'em Sandtroopers.com sent ya.

Never a Dull Moment:
Big deal if there are no more movies on our favorite films of all time, that doesn't mean the story telling is over. Next year is already in full motion in the comic book world with some really exciting adventures that take a look at the past, present, and future of Star Wars. Starting in March of next year right up to springtime there will be a large showcase available to all. The titles include: Star Wars- 30th Anniversary Collection Vol. 3, Darth Maul Star Wars Legacy #10, Star Wars KotR #15, Star Wars KotR Flashpoint Vol. 2, and Star Wars Panel to Panel Vol. 2 Expanding the Universe. To read the description of each title, as well as other non Star Wars related comics click here.

Thanking the Maker:
Sky Wilson has worked for over 2 years interviewing people from all over the world to talk about their love for Star Wars and what it actually means to them to create the film George and Me. She has interviewed folks from Great Britain to CIII in Indianapolis to Albin Johnson, the founder of the 501st Legion "Star Wars" Stormtrooper group. Her documentary discusses the loyal fan base across the globe, and "Star Wars"-themed charity work. She has recently begun working on a Christmas special interviewing new fan-filmmakers and gathering messages from "Star Wars" actors David "Darth Vader" Prowse and Jeremy "Boba Fett" Bulloch. Sandtrooper Darth Pharoah Reports:
Goes down Souf!“DarthPharaoh here, and boy have things gotten hot in winter. At least with Star Wars! Since black Friday (which I happily did NOT go out on) we’ve received a lot of newness. 2 waves of Titanium series ships, though no new Ti figures, Imperial Shuttles, which generally seem to be selling pretty well here, the 1st wave of 30th AC ships (AAT, Hailfire and Sith Starfighter) and just this morning I found the Modal Nodes Cantina Band tin. We’ve even gotten the mini Unleashed Battlepacks, Order 66 wave and Galactic Heroes cinema scenes packs in. All that’s left would be wave 8 figures. Sadly, no sign of that yet. Nice to have some new things to buy though. Good luck out there. United We Find!”
