Cracking Open Master Replica's Darth Vader Force FX Lightsaber
The crew over at Tech Republic have taken one of the Master Replicas Force FX Darth Vader lightsabers and broken it down to its original components. Ever wanted to see what makes a lightsaber work?

Does Jar Jar Binks always invite himself over to your house to watch Top Chef? Do Ewoks keep rummaging through your trash? Darth Vader's Lightsaber from Master Replicas might be able to help out with these issues.

But what exactly is inside this elegant weapon of a more civilized age? Let's see how Master Replicas' craftsmen were able to reverse-engineer this piece of Jedi technology.

Take a look at the article and pictures here at the Tech Republic website. Then visit our forums and share your thoughts.

Portman to Padme: Just say No
In an interview with MTV Movie News, Natalie Portman discusses here movie career and things she would and would not do again. She loves Star Wars just the way it is and doesn't see herself reprising the role of Padme. She says of some of her roles: “When something works you don’t touch it,” Portman explained to us recently. “You try to create something new that’s positive.” Keeping with that theme, she has a similar message for Mr. George Lucas. “I’m so honored to have been a part of [the ‘Star Wars’ prequels],” she beamed. “I got to basically latch on to this thing, that was a huge success before I was ever involved.”

That said, don’t expect to ever see Princess Padme and her trippy hairdos again. “I spent ten years working on these films,” she insisted. “It’s time to let it continue on its own.” For more check out MTV.com for the

Star Wars the Musical:
Just when you think the madness will end, someone comes up with another bright idea....let's turn the greatest story of all time into a musical. TCNJ Musical Theater (TMT) is daring the world to respond to its newest project: the insanity and absolute creativity that is "Star Wars! The Musical." On Friday, Nov. 16, TMT presented a reading of the recently completed musical. Despite the play's length (the audience was asked to complete a survey to help cut parts they didn't like) it was amazing how practically every other word had the audience in hysterics. As TMT embarks on this journey to cast, rehearse, produce and eventually perform "Star Wars! The Musical," which is likely to run from March 27- 30, 2008. There's only one thing to be said: may the force be with them. To read more please check out

2007 PSWCS Holiday Toy Drive
The Pennsylvania Star Wars Collecting Society is holding their Fifth Annual Toy Drive to benefit Garrison Carida. Carida visits 8 or 9 Children's Hospitals each year to pose for photos and hand out toys to the patients. Each year their stock of toys needs to be replenished, mostly via donations. This year PSWCS is hosting two live collection events. The first is December 1st and 2nd at the Steel City Con in Pittsburgh, PA. The second is December 8th at Toy Cave in Carlisle, PA. They also happily accept donations via mail, if you can't make it to one of these events. PSWCS is very happy to continue supporting this very worthy cause. If you Troopers are interested in donating some Star Wars toys to these children, please visit the official Toy Drive page.

The rumor mill is turning out rumors of a new round of Order 66 two-packs that will once again invade Target stores. The team at Potf2.com uncovered this yesterday and our allies at the Jedi Defender.com have some really great follow up information, including a DCPI number! For those of us who loved the over packaged, yet under priced exclusives, they have even thrown in a couple new characters into the mix. Make sure to visit both websites for the full story.

Sandtrooper Eric Reports: Stay in the Lines!
Stay in the Lines! Here’s an idea I have had for some time, but needed the curved bar sections for. Carefully cut the cardboard bar out of the Cantina Diorama and replace it with the plastic bar. It makes for a great Cantina display. It'll have to do until Hasbro decides to give us an updated version. United We Find!

Sandtrooper Darth Wormie Reports:
“Hey Troops, Wormie here, it appears the drought on Malak, Revan and Pre-Cyborg Grievous figures may be coming to an end. I stopped by the Target in Milford, MA this afternoon and along with the usual finds there was a lone Malak staring back at me from the pegs. So although gas prices are climbing sky-high, it looks like it may finally be time to increase your number of store run if you are one of the many that still need these figures. Good luck gang and remember, United We Find!”

Poll: Revan, Malak & Pre-Cyborg Grievous M.I.A.?
Where are you guys!?Darth Revan, Darth Malak and Pre-Cyborg General Grievous are three of the coolest looking figures Hasbro has produced in a long time. When I first saw pictures of these, I knew I just had to have them. Sadly, these are three figures I haven't found yet, and I'm curious to know if other troopers are having just as hard of a time finding them as I'm having. I am really wanting to add these to my collection, and I'm hoping to find them soon without having to pay too much money for them. So far, I haven't heard too many people finding them, so share your thoughts and experiences with these three hard-to-find figures. Head over to the forums and cast your vote now.

A long time ago in another place and time lived a mover and his moving company. His life changed one sunny day in 1976. George Lucas needed help moving his props and sets from England to Tunisa and that is when Giles Instone from Tunbridge Wells first got his taste of the soon to be famous film, Star Wars. Are You Getting the New Star Wars LEGO Game?
Star Wars: The Complete SagaFor those of us who happen to love Star Wars and has an Xbox 360 or Sony Playstation 3, it's probably safe to say that you already own both of the Star Wars LEGO games by LucasArts. I have both and haven't yet completed them 100%, but maybe I should hold off on those and pick up the new Star Wars LEGO game titled LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga. There will be several new features in the game that aren't in the previous two, and if you have an Xbox 360 there's supposed to be several new achievements as well. I'm curious to know how many troopers here are planning on picking this up, so let us know if you're getting it or not. If you already own these games, why would you purchase this then?

Going Back in Time
It’s time for us to go "Back in Time" to visit one of our much older Dewback Patrol missions. Instead of hitting something big like San Diego Comic-Con or Wizard World Chicago, we're heading to a much smaller avenue... the Kane County Flea Market. I've been there many times, but there's one specific outing there that means a lot to me as it's the one when I first started working for Sandtroopers.com. I met up with Chris Spice (Darth Spice) and the now retired Jason D. Myers (Dead Hero) for the very first time. Even though I had gotten to the flea market at 7:00 AM and was finished by 10:00 AM, I still waited around for those two to show up (they were running late and weren’t at the show yet). Once they arrived, I walked around with them sharing my ideas on where the site could go, and what we could do to improve ourselves. To remind me of this outing, I purchased a POTF2 12" Sandtrooper (loose) for $10, which stands at attention in my bunker. Fasten your seatbelt and prepare to go back in time to visit the Kane County Flea Market!

“The pegs have been relatively dry and I was concerned that I would never get Wave 5, but today I hit the mother load in South St. Pete, FL Wal-Mart Super Center. I found all of wave 4-7. There were tons of UGH’s. I was able to get the following McFigs: Fett, Vader, Hero, Snowtrooper and Han. I purchased over 20 figs with many still left. I think they still had full sets of 4-5, and most of 6. I would check your Wal-Mart’s if you are in the area.”
