S.C.A.L.P. Weapons SupplierHey troopers! It's been a nice four-day weekend for me, and finally the day has come when I was able to score the new Imperial Shuttle at Target. I was at the Target in Plainfield just after 8:00am, and I felt like a kid waiting to open up their presents on Christmas morning. I was incredibly anxious since I never owned the shuttle in my entire life, and this was one item I wasn't going to miss out on. Thank the Maker that there were more than ten shuttles when I marched into the store, because I wouldn't have been a happy trooper otherwise. So, for $60 I was able to bring home that bad boy, plus a couple other items that aren't even worth mentioning because that shuttle was definitely the highlight of my Thanksgiving break. Sandtroopette Donna Reports:
The First Lady of ST.com!“Hey Troops, Donna from So Cal. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Luck was on my side at the beginning of the week. I was able to score the Shuttle using the DCPI number. Upon going by another Target, they had about 12 Shuttles sitting on the over stock shelves above the action figures. But when I went back by the same Target with the 12 Shuttles on Wed night, they had all been pulled. Some Targets have done their resets with an end cap displaying the GH Cinema sets, Commemorative Tins, and Mace battlepacks. The only new items I have found at Wal-Mart is the Titanium Vehicle wave with the Tiger Deco Arc-170. TRU also has the GH Cinema sets and the Tins. Lastly, I have an extra Shocktrooper mini bust that I am looking to trade for the Emperor mini bust. Happy hunting this Black Weekend.”

George Strikes Back!
Giving back is a MUST!To help his alumni at the University of California build a 137,000-square-foot school for cinematic arts and to support the school's endowment, George Lucas donated a $175 million dollar gift. The money will convince academia to take the cinematic arts more seriously. "Film is history. How can that not be an important part of society?" asks Lucas. What a way to give back, and to never forget where you come from. There is quite a list of big spenders you might want to read about, plus many more extraordinary gifts.

From Star Wars to NBC's Heroes:
Proud as a Peacock!Masi Oka play's Hiro Nakamura (a time and space traveler) on the smash hit show Hereos', but did you know he has ties to the ole' flannel one. That's right, the 1997 Brown University Graduate created special effects for Industrial Light & Magic for all of the Star Wars prequels as well as for The Perfect Storm and Pirates of the Caribbean, and he still is a consultant a few days of the week. Born in Tokyo in 1974 he came to the US with his mother at the age of 6 and he kept up on Japanese language and culture via manga comic books and videotaped game and variety shows sent by his grandmother in Japan. Masi is no stranger to the silver screen. He has been in several roles including scenes in Along Came Polly and Austin Powers Goldmember, as well as TV appearances on Without a Trace, Will & Grace and Gilmore Girls, and on Scrubs where he got his first break in a recurring role as Franklyn. Family Guy to use the Force:
Keeping it in the family!Recently at Rutgers College, Mike Henry a supervising producer, writer and regular voice actor on the show Family Guy spoke to a small group and gave an inside look at the show's new season. He revealed that they are doing a parody of "Star Wars: A New Hope," which will be a one-hour special, and they will also be writing parodies of episodes five (The Empire Strikes Back) and six (Return of the Jedi). I don't know about you but I love this show and can't wait to see their take on these classic movies. Check out the complete details for more info on this story.

Is Hasbro still making this?“Hey fellow troopers, on my way home from my rounds I decided to go to the 2 Target locations near Huntsville, Alabama. They didn't have anything new but on a hunch I went to the service desk and had them run the DCPI 087-06-0483 for the shuttle just to see if they had it. They in fact had 40 of them in the back. The lady from toys came and confirmed it. However she couldn't go into the back to pull one from me since it was going to be put out on the 25th or the 26th. I was going to get one for a fellow collector. Unfortunately some Target is very stingy when it comes to rest dates.I saw other sites are reporting it's hitting the streets so be on the lookout if you're looking!”

It's another beautiful sunny day today out in the western Chicago suburbs, and I was lucky to have found some new Hasbro products this morning while stopping at the Target and Wal-Mart on Route 59 and 127th in Plainfield. The pegs were infested with the GB Virus at both stores, but after closer inspection I was lucky enough to find some new product. The figures I picked up included the following: Dud Bolt & Mars Guo, Holographic Darth Maul and Obi-Wan Kenobi (#47). There were other new figures on the pegs (Naboo Soldier, Reb Been, Rebel Trooper and more), but I left them as I already had those in my collection. Other new items I picked up were a couple of Unleashed Battle Packs... Jedi Masters, A New Empire, Shock Trooper Battallion and Vader's 501st Legion. All in all it was a really good day, especially since my Chicacgo Bears are now 9-1 and are easily the best team in the NFC! Da Bears!

Sandtrooper Barve Reports:
“Hey sorry it's been so long since a report, but some new stuff has FINALLY hit! First off the new Supercenter in Columbia has a LOT of the Endor/Nabbo wave, but it's all over and an end display. Plus both Wal-Mart have the new Unleashed Luke and Vader figs in the round containers in well stock. Check the regular Wal-Mart for the most though. TRU had 1 Naboo Trooper, but will probably restock soon. The big thing there though is finally some AT-ATs! Plus about5 or 6 X-Wings and One TIE fighter left. Hopefully they restock soon with the TIEs. Well that's all for now, United We Find!”

Force of the Bay: Rising to the Occasion
There is nothing better than sifting through the sands of Ebay in search of some of the first known errors from the vintage era. If you don’t stop by to browse occasionally you never know what could pop up or even float by! You can find remains of the promos that started it all. I found some of the original duels; some of the first weapons used in those battles and much like Jimmy Walker, truly Dynamite! It was like brushing up on an old history lesson. Finally, after 26 years I could phone my mother and let her know I found them! Take no prisoners, and try not to deal with anyone who would play dirty. Remember Sandtroopers.com neither endorses nor authenticates any of the items featured here. Good luck to you Troops in your search and remember: Kick A#$ and take names!

Sandtrooper Jedihawk Reports:
The Hawk!“OK. Now for the Central Texas Report. Can you say slow? I mean everything here is pretty slow as far as new stuff is concerned. I have seen a few trickles of the Naboo/Endor wave. But those are very few. Some of the Titanium Ships have shown up also. But everyone seems at this time to be choking on the H&V waves. Everyone is actually stocked up really well. It’s just a sad fact they are full of repacks. The other thing I have noticed is that every store has tons of the Transformer MF. I mean both Target and Wal-Mart must have 40+ of them. Wal-Mart has seen the new 30th Anniversary Tins once, and so has TRU. Target has plenty of Kit Fisto Fighters and a few Snowspeeders, No Mace BP yet here. TRU is pretty full of Dagobah X-Wings, TIE Fighters and AT-ATs. So things are slow, but full, which has this trooper a little worried about the end of this line. Hopefully the Christmas shopping season will thin out all of this and make room for the last few waves of the TSC line. Only time will tell.”

TotM on Hold: Send us the Worst you can Find!
We’ve put the Trooper of the Month program on hold for the month of November to give every Trooper in the world a chance to take a crack at our latest contest. In our next phase of attack in battling the GB Virus, we’re asking all of YOU to now do your part. What can I do? How can I help? It’s quite simple. This month we’re going to have a contest based on your S.C.A.L.P. Intelligence photos which can be sent to dustrho@sandtroopers.com for your chance at winning a 501st Stormtrooper or a Celebration III Darth Vader.

What do we want photos of? We’re asking you Troopers to utilize those camera phones and we’d like to see your WORST looking pegs on the retail front. Only the clutter some will survive and we’re hoping to give all of you a chance to show us your frustrations that only a clearance sale from Mustafar is going to cure. Whoever the Trooper is that sends in the nastiest case of the GB Virus will get their choice of the two mentioned prizes. We’ll be accepting entries until November 29, 2006 and our winner will be selected within 24 hours. Please be sure to include your Name, email, screen name and the area you are submitting the photo from. United We Find and may the worst pegs win!

ITLOF: Inheriting a Collection?
The only way I wouldn't want to get Star Wars! Our S.C.A.L.P. Weapons Supplier has come across a rather remarkable story that he's featured in his latest editon of In the Line of Fire. This might be perhaps the only way I wouldn't want to receive a Star Wars collection, by inheriting it. However for one of our fellow Midwest Garrison members, fate dealt a nasty hand for a good friend and his parents were kind enough to share the memory, and give Jim Tampa a.k.a. TB 1020 a few things to always remind him of his good friend. For more check out the latest round from a very unique article.

Dewback Preview: 2006 PSWCS charity Toy Drive
The Pennsylvania Star Wars Collecting Society is pleased to announce our fourth annual charity toy drive to benefit Garrison Carida of the 501st Legion. Why do we collect Star Wars toys for Garrison Carida? It's because Carida does so many good things with them. You see, Carida distributes these toys when they armor up and visit children's hospitals all around the Mid-Atlantic region. Nothing brings a smile to these kids' faces like going up to a Stormtrooper, getting a hug, and going away with a new action figure.

While many members of Carida donate their own toys to the cause, it's just not enough to cover all the visits they make throughout the year. So they rely on the generosity of collectors like you to give them a toy or two so they can complete their missions. We at PSWCS take great pride in our work to help in the collection effort. This year we've organized three live collection events. The first will be held at the Pittsburgh Toyshow December 2nd & 3rd at the Monroeville Expo Mart. The second will be held at Toy Cave in Carlisle PA on December 9th. And the final event will be held at Essential Comics in Exeter, PA on December 16th. A compliment of Carida troopers will be on-hand for all three events, so please bring your cameras. If you cannot attend one of the events, we also gladly accept donations by mail. For more information, please visit our Toy Drive page.

No More Films Because TV is the Future
George LucasGeorge Lucas, the man who changed millions of people's lives by creating the incredible world of Star Wars, has made his claim that he does not wish to pursue making films in the future. He still has plans on finishing Red Tails and the fourth installment in the Indiana Jones series (title not yet released), but after that he is through with making films. Instead of filming for movies he's going to film for television, something he strongly feels is the right decision to make. Read all that he has to say here.

George Lucas Facing a New Battle
George Lucas Facing a New BattleWhat happened in the Star Wars films? You had Luke Skywalker going up against the baddest dude in the galaxy, Darth Vader. You had Yoda hiding away on Dagobah for the longest period of time, only waiting to have Luke show up for training. There was Han Solo trying to find himself in the galaxy with his good 'ole buddy Chewbacca. And then there was this Princess and a couple of droids thrown into the mix. However, there's more to that than what you thought, as there's a new battle brewing over in London. It seems that one of the British designers who helped design costumes that appeared in the films is going up against George Lucas and his Empire. Read the full story here.

Area Report: Not Down with the Sickness
Ocho Cinco WHO? From now on you can simply refer to me as Nada Dose! That's how long I've been kickin' serious A#$ on the Net!I’ve had some good and not so good luck in Northern Lake County, IL and Southeast Wisconsin. The GB Virus is spreading out of control actually. The only place I’ve found any of the newer Naboo/Endor wave has been Kmart in Zion, IL. They have also been spotted at the Toys R Us in Gurnee, IL along with a hefty supply of Clone Wars Gunships, AT-AT’s, and many Dagobah X-Wing and big wing TIE Fighters. At the Target in Gurnee I spotted nothing out of the normal but I did see the Titanium Darth Vader “Exclusive” on clearance for $3.74! Did the Lava Vader/Obi-Wan figures go this low? In any event we can only hope they start being a little more exclusive with exclusives because this should prove people are getting fed up. I’m looking forward to getting back out on Patrol later this month and I really have to thank Ohio’s Dark Steve for helping me out with a piece I really needed in my collection. Once again proving by any means, Sandtroopers.com is still one of the best alternatives for Star Wars collectors. Keep the new recruits coming in and United We Find!

When you're practically swimming in vintage action figures, vehicles and playsets, you know it has to be a great show that one shouldn't miss. Check out my full report and several photos of the event here.

Sandtrooper Jedimaster-C Reports: One happy Sandtrooper!
“The subject line says it all. I went down to my local Target yesterday (Sat the 4th) and scored two of the Mace's Squad with the DCPI. The lady was nice enough to pull them from the back. In my opinion this the Battle pack for the clone fan. Despite a crappy Mace the 4 clones are what the set is all about. Also, you get an early crack at the Air borne trooper, sort of. The DCPI is 087-06-1797. So, what are you waiting for? Go find it!”

Empire at War Coming to the Mac!
Star Wars: Empire at WarFor all those Mac enthusiasts out there, there's great news involving Star Wars gaming in Appleland. Looks like the company who has helped bring PC-based games to the Mac world has done it again, by recently announcing that Star Wars: Empire at War will be available on the Mac platform. At the moment Aspyr Media is not sure how much the game will cost, nor do they know when it will become available. Once it's out I'm sure it will be hard to keep in stock. Read more about this here, and share your thoughts about it over in the forums.

Sandtrooper Tamer Reports:
Don't mess with the Tamer!“It has been a long time since my last report as the Greatest Battle wave or the GB virus as it is now being called has hit my stores and I can see no hope with the new waves. I did find the new Snowspeeder with Zev and a new tin with Darth Tater and Spudtrooper. I am hoping remnants of the Naboo wave will make their way to my stores and cant wait to see the new mace battlepack. Good luck troopers and don’t forget to stop by Toys R Us and pick up your Endor Walker, it is a must have in your collection in my opinion. Its also about time we all made plans to hit the forums and do some chatting as it has been too long since I have talked to the Troopers, let alone the new recruits who have joined.”

Sandtrooper Starfox Reports:
Real Men wear Pink!“It's not much, but some news is better than no news.... coming to you live from Central Texas, the Killeen Target has the Mace Windu Battle Packs and this set is awesome. I gave the DCPI #087-06-1797 to a nice Target lady and she went right to the back and scored me a set! This has got to be the best BP so far in my opinion. Target also has about 12 Kit Fisto fighters and 5 Snowspeeders. The pegs although are full of the H&V/GB Virus figures, this store has not put out a new figure since the Tatooine wave. Killeen Wal-Mart has EP3 tins; they were gone in a day. I saw the Endor2 wave once, but like all Wal-Mart stores nationwide the GB Virus is overwhelming the pegs. The newer titanium ships with the blue Naboo fighter has been spotted also. Harker Heights Wal-Mart is exactly the same, but they finally marked their VSTC figures down to $6. They also have the newest titanium figures of 3PO and Grievous. Kmart still sucks, nothing new and everything is overpriced! TRU has been hit or miss, still some At-At's, Clone Wars Gunships and Dagobah X-Wings. I have not seen the tins there or any newer figures either, just that damn virus wave. That’s all from Texas, Starfox signing out!”
