Hey troopers! It's been a nice four-day weekend for me, and finally the day has come when I was able to score the new Imperial Shuttle at Target. I was at the Target in Plainfield just after 8:00am, and I felt like a kid waiting to open up their presents on Christmas morning. I was incredibly anxious since I never owned the shuttle in my entire life, and this was one item I wasn't going to miss out on. Thank the Maker that there were more than ten shuttles when I marched into the store, because I wouldn't have been a happy trooper otherwise. So, for $60 I was able to bring home that bad boy, plus a couple other items that aren't even worth mentioning because that shuttle was definitely the highlight of my Thanksgiving break. Hey troopers! It's another beautiful sunny day today out in the western Chicago suburbs, and I was lucky to have found some new Hasbro products this morning while stopping at the Target and Wal-Mart on Route 59 and 127th in Plainfield. The pegs were infested with the GB Virus at both stores, but after closer inspection I was lucky enough to find some new product. The figures I picked up included the following: Dud Bolt & Mars Guo, Holographic Darth Maul and Obi-Wan Kenobi (#47). There were other new figures on the pegs (Naboo Soldier, Reb Been, Rebel Trooper and more), but I left them as I already had those in my collection. Other new items I picked up were a couple of Unleashed Battle Packs... Jedi Masters, A New Empire, Shock Trooper Battallion and Vader's 501st Legion. All in all it was a really good day, especially since my Chicacgo Bears are now 9-1 and are easily the best team in the NFC! Da Bears! |

You may remember him as the once powerful Darth Maul who got chopped into two pieces in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, but the man who played this character is still making headlines across the galaxy. Nothing can stop him, not even Obi-Wan Kenobi. Ray Park, a martial arts expert, has written a script titled Battle City Seven, and mentions that he would like to some day make into a film. Park is in Malaysia at the moment, and you can read what he's up to and learn more about this movie here. |

George Lucas, the man who changed millions of people's lives by creating the incredible world of Star Wars, has made his claim that he does not wish to pursue making films in the future. He still has plans on finishing Red Tails and the fourth installment in the Indiana Jones series (title not yet released), but after that he is through with making films. Instead of filming for movies he's going to film for television, something he strongly feels is the right decision to make. Read all that he has to say here. |
What happened in the Star Wars films? You had Luke Skywalker going up against the baddest dude in the galaxy, Darth Vader. You had Yoda hiding away on Dagobah for the longest period of time, only waiting to have Luke show up for training. There was Han Solo trying to find himself in the galaxy with his good 'ole buddy Chewbacca. And then there was this Princess and a couple of droids thrown into the mix. However, there's more to that than what you thought, as there's a new battle brewing over in London. It seems that one of the British designers who helped design costumes that appeared in the films is going up against George Lucas and his Empire. Read the full story here. |

I’ve had some good and not so good luck in Northern Lake County, IL and Southeast Wisconsin. The GB Virus is spreading out of control actually. The only place I’ve found any of the newer Naboo/Endor wave has been Kmart in Zion, IL. They have also been spotted at the Toys R Us in Gurnee, IL along with a hefty supply of Clone Wars Gunships, AT-AT’s, and many Dagobah X-Wing and big wing TIE Fighters. At the Target in Gurnee I spotted nothing out of the normal but I did see the Titanium Darth Vader “Exclusive” on clearance for $3.74! Did the Lava Vader/Obi-Wan figures go this low? In any event we can only hope they start being a little more exclusive with exclusives because this should prove people are getting fed up. I’m looking forward to getting back out on Patrol later this month and I really have to thank Ohio’s Dark Steve for helping me out with a piece I really needed in my collection. Once again proving by any means, Sandtroopers.com is still one of the best alternatives for Star Wars collectors. Keep the new recruits coming in and United We Find! |

Hey Troopers! We have a double-sized batch of Hasbro Q & A this week. You Troopers asked, the Big H delivers and we have quite a few questions that will interest many of you. For all those Mac enthusiasts out there, there's great news involving Star Wars gaming in Appleland. Looks like the company who has helped bring PC-based games to the Mac world has done it again, by recently announcing that Star Wars: Empire at War will be available on the Mac platform. At the moment Aspyr Media is not sure how much the game will cost, nor do they know when it will become available. Once it's out I'm sure it will be hard to keep in stock. Read more about this here, and share your thoughts about it over in the forums. |
