Just wanted to let you Troopers that ordered the new 2006 Star Wars Credit Card from MBNA the free exclusive Chrome C-3P0 mini bust statue is shipping. I got mine in the mail today. I plan to have this added to our Visual Guide later this week. So far in 2006 I'm very impressed with the items I've added to my collection.david@sandtroopers.com |
“While debating as to whether or not E-85 production will complete revitalize the economy of Decatur, IL (likely answer: not bloody well likely), I had time for a store run today. Both Wal-Marts, north and south, were Dead on Arrival. Wal-Mart South had pegs completely empty of 3.75” figures, while Wal-Mart North was teeming with what has become the standard pegwarmers for 2006: Derlin, Veers, and Rieekan. Oh, there was a Snowtrooper and an R2 on the pegs…but most troopers have already scored these. Our Target, however, was a completely different story, as one case of the Geonosis wave was put on the pegs this morning. I grabbed six for myself (including the elusive Scorch and Utapau Clone), completing my wave, and two for fellow troopers. Let it be known: Monday morning is a good time to hit the Target in Decatur. Now that the Geonosis wave has been slayed, its time for a brief rest…until next month, when the Coruscant wave inevitably hits. Keep on Troopin’!”adayinthelife1979@insightbb.com |

“HothChad from Central Minnesota, it’s been awhile since I posted anything because it’s been pretty quite around here. Today I found the Geo wave at Wal-Mart in Monticello. My first sighting of these anywhere in my area. All were there minus Scorch, Jango, and Clone. So start hitting the pavement they are going to start hitting big real soon. Remember to keep the figures out of the hands of the scalpers. Trade or sell them to other Troopers. HothChad Out!”chadbarb@sherbtel.net |

Hey Troopers, we have learned the concept model Doug Wangler A.K.A. Jedimaster Quinlan Vos made an appearance earlier this month at a Comic Book store in Danville, IL located in east central Illinois. Our S.C.A.L.P. Operative TK9965 was kind enough to snap a few photos of the event and transmit them back here to us. With all the anticipation and hype surrounding issue #83 this was quite a pleasant suprise! |

Thanks to the very loyal trooper ADayintheLife1979, we are currently running a poll in our forums asking the following question: "Excluding The SAGA Collection, since it has just been released, what is your favorite modern line of 3.75" figures, vehicles, and applicable playsets?" In just over a day we've had fourteen troopers vote, and so far the line that's winning is the OTC/VOTC/POTC one. Make sure you visit to the forums to cast your vote now, and make sure you explain why you chose to go with that line. |
“They were in and out. That’s what happened to the Geonosis wave at Target in Cherry Hill N.J. It took till about 11 but one case was all we got. I'll keep an eye and also another eye for the 5 Saga chase figures when they set.”kmclark14@comcast.net |

“Hi Troops, Donna from So Cal. Target seems to be the only retailer stocking new items. Along with the pegwarmers of Bib Fortuna, Major Derlin, and General Rieekan, Target seems to be putting out one case of the Geonosis wave every 1-2 weeks. I have been able to locate 5 figs from the wave but keep missing Sora Bulq and of course Scorch and the Utapau Trooper. Took a trip to Sacramento over the weekend and stopped by a couple of Targets in No Cal. At the Vallejo Target, found remains of the Geonosis wave. And at the Vacaville Target, I found the new wave of Transformers (Anakin and Maul) and the new Jabba the Hutt Attacktix Battle Masters. Lastly, does anyone have an extra Titanium Clone Wars Republic Gunship? Have a white TIE Fighter to trade or let me know what you need. Happy Hunting to all!”theloneswlady@adelphia.net |

“Troops! The Quarry Shopping Center in Countryside, IL (Hodgkins/LaGrange) was the place to be today despite the Seattle-esque weather. I had thought that the booby prize was all I was getting from Wal-Mart when I left with nothing but a Star Wars Choppers shelf display. But, making my way over to Target, knocking over a myriad of carts with my Rubicon, at least three cases of the Saga Geonosis wave were awaiting. Every figure from the wave, even 026 Clone Trooper was present, except Scorch. I ran one of the UPCs under the scanner and saw 'In Stockroom: Yes.' Five minutes later, a nice lady came out with a handful of figures for me and Scorch made his escape, eyebrows intact. My recommendation? Stay 'on Target' Troopers!”jason.meyers@emdiesels.com |
“Hey Troops, here is my report for northern Lake County, IL this afternoon: Target (Gurnee, IL): “had the Geonosis wave, but only 1 Yoda & 3 Poggle the Lessers were on the pegs. TRU (Gurnee, IL): “has tons of the entire Carkoon wave warming the pegs. KB Toys (Gurnee, IL) “has the whole Hoth wave in stock. That's all for now. I'm not having the same luck as some of the other Troopers.” wrightcombo@juno.com |
“JACKPOT! This morning while on a NW Indiana Mega-Hunt for the Geo wave, I hit paydirt! I started at Wal-Mart in Portage, where they had all kinds of boxes of stuff stacked in the aisles, but not one new Star Wars item to be found. From there it was off to Merrillville, to check their Target and Wal-Mart, both with no luck. On a whim, I decided to give the Target in St. John a shot, and that's where I found the mother lode! 2 cases worth of the Geo wave, complete with Sora Bulq, Clone Trooper, and Scorch! I grabbed an extra Scorch for an opener. After that, while still on my new find high, I tried Wal-Mart in Schererville and Target and Meijer in Highland, all with empty pegs. Overall, a rather frustrating morning in that most stores still have almost nothing, but at least I finally found my figs! On a side note, my wife, who is a Yoda collector, pointed out the fact that this Yoda was a repack! Now that's a sure sign that the repacks are becomming all too common! Keep vigilant Troopers, and remember to check your Targets right away at open for best luck! Transmission out.”pat@sandtroopers.com |

“After searching more than five stores yesterday and finding nothing at all, today at the Millbury Massachusetts Target I found the Geonosis wave, including Scorch and the Clonetrooper. I had to pick up extras of these two to open up and display. They also had the second wave of Star Wars Transformers, which include Boba Fett, Darth Maul and Anakin Skywalker. That's all for now. United We Find!”jimsjedi@sandtroopers.com |

“Gran3131 reporting in from the Metro area of Minnesota after a long ride on the Dewback. It has been pretty slow around the metro area. Today I was able to go to about ten Targets but had no luck finding Scorch or the Utapau clone. All but two of the Targets had the Geonosis wave, but again no Troopers, I guess I was just a little late. The Targets that I made my way to were Eagen, Lakeville super, Burnsville, Savage super, Chaska super, Shakopee, Chanhassen, Edina, Bloomington and Eden Praire. It is always nice to see new figures, I still wish the ROTS line was around, but we have some great stuff to look forward to in the upcoming months. For any of you Minnesota readers that have not joined up in the forums you really should. I read the front page for about four months before I finally joined after being helped out by another Minnesota Trooper HothChad. He is just one of the great Troopers that are part of this site. We all work together and it has made it a lot easier to find the new Star Wars items that are coming out. If you are like me and also like to collect statues and mini bust there are always interesting conversations going on about them as well. It would be great if we could widen our S.C.A.L.P. patrol radius in Minnesota to put a stop to the scalpers once and for all. United we Find.”gran0297@umn.edu |

“Bobafred chiming in from the San Fernando Valley...Just wanted to confirm Darth Eddie's Geonisis sighting. I was at Wal-Mart in Simi Valley (Sorry... Teffie1, Sand Snipe, & RJP) this afternoon when I ran into the Hasbro Rep., with two cases of figs, low and behold I found wave 2.5 to be most rewarding on case fresh Clones, plus Sora Bulq. My local Wally World has yet to drop this wave. So Cal Dom is right in expressing the one Clone per wave funk. If these figs are still needed, I suggest 7am Wal-Mart greeting, followed with the Target of your choice as needed (hitting it hard!). These are barely going to hit those barren Wally World shelves Troop's so stay on it, and remember the early bird gets the worm, and the worm gets scorched! I would like to express my Thanks, and happiness to the Dewback Patrol for the awesome Toy Fair Coverage! Bobafred on the Hunt!”orozco91331@yahoo.com |
“It has been awhile since I have posted, not much was going on around here in So Cal. We were blessed with an abundance of the Carkoon wave, but the Hoth wave has been hit and miss. I went into my 3 local Targets yesterday (Murrieta, Menifee and Hemet) and all were semi-stocked with the Geonosis wave. All had Sun Fac, Poggle the Lesser and Yoda, one had both 3POs, the other 2 had Sora Bulq. None had Jango, Scorch or the Utapau clone (what a surprise!). At only one per case, these may be a bit hard to find at first but hopefully they will pack these a little bit more abundantly in future waves. Anyways, if anyone has extras of Scorch, Jango or the Utapau clone, drop me a line. By the way, what is up with Wal-Mart? These guys have had nothing new for over 2 weeks. You would think they would keep the shelves stocked of one of the most popular items. On a side note, I am somewhat disappointed with the items being released right now. I realize that the movies are over, but Hasbro is catering mostly to the younger generation with lightsabers, choppers, etc. As a matter of fact, I have been lured into the more "collector" type items such as mini-busts, bust ups and Kotobukiya (I now have 12). The Snowtrooper just arrived and it is awesome. Good luck everyone!” chicanodom@msn.com |

“Hi Troopers. This is Lisette from NYC. I want to send out a big Thank You to Darth Pharoah for hooking me up with the Clone Wars DVD sets from Wal-Mart. If not for Darth Pharoah, I would not have gotten my hands are these awesome sets.”joelise13@earthlink.net |

“Hello, Troopers! Just wanted to post a quick update to my previous report. The Geonosis wave is finally starting to hit Decatur, IL at our Target (Mound Rd. and Water St.). It looks like a case of Geonosis figs went out this morning. By the time I got there around 2:00 p.m., the local scalpers (of which there are about three or four) had left all of four figs, two of which I needed. As is this Target’s tendency, they will likely continue to put out about two cases a week for a couple of weeks. Also, the local Wal-Marts should follow through fairly soon, as we’ve been getting the SAGA figs there with some regularity. Happy hunting, Troopers!”adayinthelife1979@insightbb.com |
“DarthPharaoh checking in. While I haven’t seen them personally there are reports from others (including my wife, who I have to consider a reliable source) that Geonosis has arrived in the Atlanta area. Mrs. Pharaoh found a Target that apparently had them but by the time she got there all that was left was the Yoda. Of which, I need not (how many Yoda’s does one really need?). But they are here so the real hunt begins. Good luck in the field fellow troopers...Death to all scalpers! I’m out.”djohnson@internap.com |
“I found the Geonisis wave at Target this morning, finally. I was only able to get Scorch. Another guy that was there got the Utaupau trooper. Oh well, I will be big about it. So that was too bad. I am still in need of the Utaupau Trooper. If anyone would like to work a trade out maybe drop me a line.”c-ryan@mchsi.com |

"DARTH EDDIE chiming in once again with an interesting find the rest of the Troopers out there involved in The Great Hunt might be interested in hearing. While making a late-night run past a local Wal-Mart here in Roanoke, VA, I found the STAR WARS pegs to be fairly slim pickings with the exceptions of a few Carkoon wave pegwarmers (Barada, Chewbacca and a couple of others), and believe it or not the #026 UTAPAU CLONE TROOPER from Episode III! He's obviously from REVENGE OF THE SITH and the Battle of Utapau in that movie, but he's (apparently) been packed with the new cases of Episode II Battle of Geonosis figures that have been shipping. The Commander Cody-like orange clone comes packaged in a striding pose facing to your right, with a pretty nice photographic backdrop of some of Cody's/Obi-Wan's other clones and equipment behind the figure. It appears the new Utapau clone re-uses the SITH super-articulated clone trooper #41's body and adds some snazzy paint applications. Even the signal/transmission antenna attached to the clone's back is still there, and the standard black blaster pistol is there as well (but I think we ALL could have predicted that). There were absolutely NO other figures from the new Geonosis wave assortment aside from the one lone #026 clone, which was really odd since you'd think a colored clone would be one of the FIRST figures in the case to get snatched up and he's packed at a measely one or two in each current assortment. In any case, my timing was spot-on and I managed to get a brand new figure that, almost any other time, would have been long gone by the time I made my toy runs! Good luck and Happy hunting finding other #26 clones fellow Troopers and remember... UNITED WE FIND!!!" cooleddie74@hotmail.com |
Attention troopers! We will be covering New York's annual American International Toy Fair this year, and our fearless leader Darth Spice will be there reporting back with updates and photos throughout this weekend. It’s been over three years since we’ve made it to the show, and while the Dewback Patrol continues to be the most traveled show and convention showcase on the Internet, we realize this is something that we simply do not want to miss out on this year. Stay tuned to Sandtroopers.com throughout the weekend for updates from the showroom floor. From the Windy City to the Empire City, Sandtroopers.com will be there, therefore so can you! United We Find! |
Hey troopers! We are proud to announce that we have added another gallery to our Collections section, and this time we are honored to host pictures from Trooper Larry's collection. He has a mix of different Star Wars lines ranging from vintage to POTJ to Saga to ROTS to the Saga 2006, so it's more or less your typical Star Wars collection. The piece I like the most in his collection is the Saga Imperial Shuttle, and I admire it because I don't have one in my collection. You can check out the pictures of his collection here. |

Phil Brown, the well-talented actor who played Luke Skywalker's uncle, Owen Lars, has died at the age of 89. He can be best remembered for his desire to keep his adopted nephew, Luke, at his home to help with his moisture farm. He will be deeply missed by everyone in the Star Wars community. Read more about this here. |

“Yesterday at Target I found some of the Geonosis wave of figures. I picked up Sun Fac and passed on X1 Yoda, X2 Poggle the Lessers, and X1 Jango Fett since they are all repacks. No sign of C-3P0, Scorch or Sora Bulq. Figures were found at the Target on East Washington St at the Washington Square Mall for $6.99.”david@sandtroopers.com |

“It has been a frustrating week for the Ol' Scholar...nothing at all decent to be found in NW Indiana. Spent the morning searching 3 Wal-Mart’s and 3 Targets, with very little other than some Unleashed Battlepacks and a few Hoth wave figs at any of them. Many of the custom choppers, Darth Taters, and Utupau Unleashed Battlepacks. I was hoping to come across some of the Geonosis wave, but it looks like it may not happen until next week or later. That's okay though, because I know if I don't find it on my own, there are plenty of loyal troops to help our with the cause! Transmission out.”pat@sandtroopers.com |

“Bobafred chiming in from the San Fernando Valley. Just wanted give you Troops & Troopettes, a heads up on the Geonosis wave hitting So Cal Target, in that wave you will find both C-3PO variants with & with out Battle Droid head. I was pretty jazzed that this was the only confirmed sighting in the Valley, and sad that it was only one case. So here I come fella's to your neighborhood stores! Bobafred on the hunt.”orozco91331@yahoo.com |
“Scalperhunter1 here keeping scalpers on the run here in God's country. Wal-Mart is absolutely worthless. Both stores have their section down to 1 foot and filled with junk over 3 months old. Toys R Us gets in some Saga figures but the employees are buying up most of it. I had one employee tell me he has purchased 5 Fett figures before they hit the floor. The Target on Blairsferry Road is the place to be. They seem to keep a decent stock of Saga figures, large size Titanium ships and the Star Wars choppers. They just got in the Fett chopper. The microscopic Unleashed is warming pegs everywhere. That's it for now from the heartland. United We Find.”rrl1125@ccr.net |
“It has been a long time since my last report. I have been busy acquiring the Hoth wave thanks to troopers Hoth Chad and pshorrock72. Thanks for helping me complete my wave guys. Now on to the Geonosis wave, which I have not yet seen. I have seen most of the Hoth and Carkoon waves minus the Fetts, Chewies, and of course Darth Vader. If a trooper needs help finishing his wave let me know on the forums or pm me and I will be glad to help out, I know how frustrating it is. I will report in when I find the Geonosis wave and once again help the troopers out. Also a big special thanks goes out to Sandtrooper Dan for making this awesome front page tag!”sggroves@access.k12.wv.us |

“Darth Vegas reporting in after being A.W.O.L. for a while. The report from our western sector is as follows: We have someone in our sector getting inside delivery Intel and is sucking up every saga 06 figure that the local stores have been getting. I've tried all times of the day and night and everyday of the week to stay up on the series and have only been able to pick up the occasional figure here and there. Out of the first 14 I'm still down R2 and Darth. I understand there are 2 versions of Darth. I can't even get one. I started buying the Gentle Giant Maquettes lately. I bought Padme from the Clone Wars Cartoons a year ago and since have tried to get them all. The Busts are cool too. My wife gave me Princess Leia for Christmas and I just recently got the Darth Vader Bust. Very Nice. The new Unleashed packs are turning out Ok. I have all the Original Unleashed figures so I thought the new ones would be stupid but they are well done for their size. I just finished up the Kashyyyk collection. The Attakus metal collection coming out next month is impressive. I've picked up the first few figures on pre order and am trying to figure out how to get the rest that are coming out. At $70.00 plus per copy I've had to do some creative financing and work a lot of overtime to make that collection happen. I can't wait to see the Falcon Set. Well that's it for now. Star Wars forever! We need more movies or television or something.”tpinney2@cox.net |

“Here's my store report for the weekend after Ground Hog day: Target (Waukegan, IL & Gurnee, IL) has the Hoth wave in stock.Toys R Us (Gurnee, IL) has the UNLEASHED Wookie & Felucia battle packs in stock. No sign of anything after the Hoth wave in the immediate area. That's all for now Troops, later.”wrightcombo@juno.com |
