Update from Cloud City:
There are a few new items to report which have just been added to the site. First we have added the Sneak Preview Anakin's Starfighter to go with the 4 Sneak Preview figures.

In addition, we have added over 200 AFA-graded vintage items over the weekend. Included are Star Wars, GI Joe, Transformers, and Masters of the Universe items. Some highlights include an AFA 80 ESB AT-AT and an AFA 85 Unpunched 12-back Luke Skywalker. We plan to add about 150 additional AFA-graded items by the end of the week. Visit Cloud City today so you don't miss out on these great, high grade items.

For G1 Transformer collectors, we have also added many new boxed items including a Piranacon Giftset, the rarest of all Giftsets, and an Omega Supreme. We plan to add about 50 more MIB G1 transformers this week as well. This batch will not be AFA-graded, as the toys have been opened. However, most of these are NM or MINT toys with decent boxes and will be offered at great prices. Please check back later in the week to view these great new items.

Sandtrooper Darth Dallas Reports: Down, but Far from Out!
One of SoCal's Finest!“Troops, I just wanted to touch base and let the world know I am still hunting figures, chewing bubble gum and kicking a$%, unfortunately I am all out of gum! Seriously, I had yet another surgery on my foot Feb 03, 2005. That now is the 3rd foot operation to go along with the 5 knee operations, 3 back operations and hip surgery. See kids what a head on car crash (1998) and football can do to a Sith Lord! It doesn't matter.... Since I have been on leave from work I have been driving around with the crutches and hunting figs. Customer service is amazing when they see the crutches! Hell I am saving them to use again when (EP III-ROTS) midnight madness rolls along.

South Florida PLEASE move over the 6'6 injured man needs to be let in first to check out the fresh, minty, new merchandise! Get the job done, whatever it takes! I did want to pass along the info that Wal-Mart out at Sawgrass (Sunrise, FL.) had the Sneak Preview Anakin's Jedi Starfighter in stock. Eight to be exact. I am still caught up figure wise and getting ready for the onslaught around the corner. Hey Troops? Why hasn't anyone EVER emailed me back concerning the Insider being mailed without a bag? Has anyone talked to them? Have a working phone number, etc? Hey I remember when Sandtrooper's started you guys would "give away" some neat things donated by people. I still like that. In fact I have some extra figs lying around and would like to donate them to give away. Troops what do you think? I am not talking a vinyl-caped Jawa here but something to look forward to in your mailbox. I think everyone should donate a fig here and there, it's fun and we all have a lot to be Thankful for. I am thankful for the Original Trilogy Collection! Good job Hasbro! Well take care Darth Spice and friends. If the trace is correct I will find those figures quickly my Master! Troops MTFBWY! Dallas Cowboys 2005-Attention Philly fans. I have 5 Dallas Cowboys' Super Bowl Championships DVD's to view. Let me know if you?re interested.”

George Lucas Cameo in EIII?
George LucasRumor is running wild about whether or not founding father George Lucas will have a cameo appearance in the upcoming Revenge of the Sith. Sandtrooper Dom tipped us off to a website called Row M.com that has a photo of George in some rather strange looking wardrobe. Here is an excerpt from the story. Mild spoiler warning applies!

The Future of Star Wars Gaming
LucasArtsAddict 3D has written up a very interesting article about the future of Star Wars gaming. It's mainly interesting because Jim Ward, president of LucasArts and Lucasfilm advertising, has mentioned that his company needs to start making much better video games than what they have recently been producing. He was quoted as saying, "We clearly had gotten to a point at LucasArts where, very honestly, the quality of our product was not at the level it should have been. We were managing too many STAR WARS games. Too many mediocre STAR WARS games." Sadly, I have to agree with him with what he has said here, but Ward does mention on how they're going to tackle and overcome the situation. Read the article in its entirety here.

Star Wars Celebrities in Full "Force" at CIII
C3Are you going to Celebration III? Are you planning on buying anything and everything in sight? Well, you better save your money. The long list of Celebrities from all six of the Star Wars films will be there in full "Force." The list grows bigger everyday with more and more names being added. This could be your last chance to get some of these autographs. You could have the chance to ask each character their experience in the films, and be able to treasure that moment for the rest of your life. You can ask Ray Park aka "Darth Maul" how cool was it to be a "Sith" with the first double lightsaber in the Star Wars Saga, to asking Garrick Hagon aka "Biggs Darklighter" what was it like working in the first film, when there was no backstory at that time. The questions are endless. So make sure you ask the ones that you've been dying to ask all of these years, your destiny awaits, I have forseen it. Stay tuned for more names to be added. MTFBWY at CIII!

To see the list in its entirety read the lists that were made Wednesday and Thursday.

Republic Commando Designer Diary #7: The Write Stuff
Republic CommandoGameSpot.com has recently posted the Designer Diary #7 for the upcoming video game, Star Wars: Republic Commando, and this will be their final designer diary entry since the game will be released on March 1st. Writer Ryan Kaufman discusses his involvement in the development of this Star Wars shooters central characters, which happens to be the Delta Squad. Kaufman compares the story of Republic Commando to Band of Brothers, where the individual missions and battles play out in the context of a larger, off-screen conflict.

Republic CommandoIt is apparent after reading this diary that writing Republic Commando was not an easy task. Kaufman stated, "I think the end result is a tough, scrappy game that gives you a look at a Star Wars no one has really seen before." To read the seventh and final diary entry click here, and don't forget to talk about this in our forums.

Sandtrooper Jimsjedi Reporting In!
Jimsjedi"What's going on everyone? Found the latest and last of what will be new in stores until the new Revenge of the Sith toys hit on or around April 2nd. I found the three new Unleashed at the Worcester, MA Target on Lincoln St. I picked up IG-88 and the Stormtrooper. I couldn't afford all three, so I'll have to go back for Aurra Sing.

With less than two months to go until Celebration III, everyday the smile on my face gets bigger just thinking what lies ahead. Memebers of the staff, myself included will be on hand, and would like to know who else plans on heading to Indy. All I can say is lets try to meet. I would like to meet as many members of this site as possible, shoot the s*$t, take some pictures and enjoy the surroundings. If you are planning on attending give me a shout at Jimsjedi@aol.com and lets get the Sandtroopers party rolling. Later Troops and Troopettes."

Becoming Obi-Wan
Obi-WanThe Official Site has a great video clip of how Ewan McGregor becomes Obi-Wan Kenobi. McGregor has played the role of a much younger version of Obi-Wan in the first two Star Wars films, but for Revenge of the Sith this will be the closest he'll be to portraying the Obi-Wan Kenobi the late Sir Alec Guiness played back in the original trilogy. This outstanding movie is free to all (not specific only to Hyperspace members), and I would encourage everyone here to view this movie. It's very well done, and is a great way to start the early working day too! Read more about this and see the video here.

Sandtrooper Dom Reports:
One of SoCal's Finest!“Well, it has been quite a while since I have posted, as well as shopped around, and I felt I needed to get back out there and look. Despite the rampaging streets, now considered rivers, the tornadoes, yes, tornadoes in So Cal, and the high winds, I managed to venture out into the wet wide open in search of things I have yet to possess. So far, and mainly at Toys R Us, I have picked up the Sneak Preview figs, all the Animated, save the blue Clone Trooper, and the Cantina wave. I have even seen the new Sneak Preview Starfighter. Nothing else! Whatever happened to the post OTC wave that included the Sandtrooper, Stormtrooper, etc? I have yet to see a Pablo Jill, or even the newest Unleashed figures, which include IG-88, Stormtrooper and Aurra Sing. Better yet, what happened to the Vader Tie Fighter TRU exclusive? Where did that go? Hopefully someone out there has these items collecting dust on their store shelves in some other section of the country. Otherwise, not much else to report.

If there is anyone out there that can help, I am looking for a Pablo Jill, Blue Clone Trooper, OTC Sandtrooper, Stormtrooper, Scout Trooper, and any of the Unleashed figures from the newest wave. I have extra Silver Vader, Sandtroopers that I would be willing to trade, or even send over a wants list to see if I can help. Drop me a line. Hope everyone is finding what they need. Less than 3 months to go, it will be here before we know it!”

Ewan McGregor Not Happy with George Lucas' Work?
Ewan McGregorYou heard it right... Ewan McGregor hasn't necessarily been all that thrilled with George Lucas' work on his Star Wars prequel films. McGregor was quoted as saying that Attack of the Clones was "unsatisfactory" in regards to the fighting that was done in the movie. He was also stated that The Phantom Menace was a "disappointing" movie. However, he's very pleased with all the fighting that takes place in Revenge of the Sith. Sporting a New Look
Darth Vader Voice ChangerHasbro has decided to throw their Darth Vader Voice Changer into the new packaging based on their Revenge of the Sith toyline, but will this increase the sales of this particular item? Whether I'm at Target or Toys 'R Us, I always see a good handful of these warming the shelves, and I'm not so sure that a change in its packaging is going to help sell more of these. But, I could be wrong. With everyone so incredibly excited about the final movie coming out soon, people might actually want to go out and pick up one of these for themselves, because of the new Episode III look it's sporting. Sandwatch Review: Expanded Coverage of Clone Wars
Hey Troops, with Season III of Clone Wars the Animated Series on the horizon, we felt it would be good to have a review section of the first two blockbuster seasons. Were the episodes too short? Absolutely, and it wasn?t until months later we got the privilege of watching them back-to-back. Season III will bring us right up to the beginning of Revenge of the Sith, something never before done in the Star Wars trilogy. Let?s see if the hype Mr. Sansweet put on this last summer lives up to expectations of our legions. Until then let?s look back at Season I, the first episode. Our own S.C.A.L.P. Weapons Supplier, dustrho, has documented some ill screen shots and reviewed every installment. United We Find Troops.

Sandtrooper Obiray Reports:
“I just have a question about the Toy Fair SW Darth Vader Press Kit figure. Is it going to be offered for sale in a near future by StarWarsShop.com or a big dept store? Of course with the regular packaging. It would be a cool addition to our collections having a figure that turns around when you open the box converting it from Anakin to Darth Vader.”
ray@caribe.net

We have no word at this time, my guess would be it's possible they would give collectors an item like or similar. I would doubt that the press kit would be offered, time will tell.

So if you are a skeptic of the largest auction site in the world, take my advice and give it a shot, I guarantee you won't be let down. Maybe if you look hard enough you can find the most reputable seller to do business with. Much like the Original Sandtroopers, if you keep searching you will find your target. The trick is having everything play to your advantage. Whatever vintage crown jewel you are searching for will come up. If you have a large enough wallet, you could even get your hands on modern treasures that have eluded everyone. You just have to keep in mind to watch out for the Jag-Bag who has spent fifty dollars, but needs your twenty just because. However for the true Jag-Bag of the week we may have found a month long winnner here. Thanks to Trooper J Loud for the submission!Remember Sandtroopers.com neither endorses nor authenticates any of the items featured here. Toy Fair NY Reports:
Toyfair is underway in NYC this weekend and due to the fact so many of the things on display weren't that big of a surprise, I elected not to send a member of Sandtroopers.com to cover this event. Our friends from Galactic Hunter, The Jawa and Jedi Temple Archives have all covered this show. With so few surprises and no fun with the Troopers, much like the Chicaco Cubs, maybe next year. For full coverage on the event see any of the above sites and you will not have to look anywhere else.

“Hello, I was wondering if you could help me. I was reading Entertainment Weekly last week I think and they had two release dates for Ep.3 one said May 18th and May 19th, which is the correct date. If I remember Ep2 was released on a Wednesday at 12:01 am. Thanks for you help, Steve.”
STEVESOPRANO@aol.com

Steve, the official date is May 19th, 2005. The only thing I can think of regarding the other date is that could possibly be an international relesase date.

ROTS Too Violent for Kids?
George LucasGeorge Lucas has recently spoken about his final installment to the Star Wars saga, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, saying that this is one Star Wars movie that might be too violent for kids. Lucas told the Vanity Fair, "I think children, young children especially, should be warned that this is not your average Star Wars. It's a lot darker. There's a lot more scary stuff in it. It's brutal in places and they should be aware of that. The parents are warned to be careful of bringing tiny little kids, like five and six years old, because it might be too much." Celebration III Diorama help:
Hello fellow troopers out there, a Diorama comes to life when you start populating it with figures. Many if not all of you know by now that at Celebration III the Diorama area has the theme of Death Star. You cannot have an impressive diorama without the figures to populate it with. That is why we need your help. Celebration III is just a parsec away and we hardly have any figures to populate the Death Star dioramas with. If you will please read what Frank D. (niubniub) and I have to ask of you, you will see we are in need. If you can help out some fellow troopers to make this the best diorama scene ever please do so. We cannot do this without the help of fellow troopers like you. Thank you with all of your generosity and we will see you at Celebration III.

Sandtrooper dustrho Reporting In!
Well, I stopped at one lone place tonight which happened to be the Toys 'R Us over by Fox Valley Mall in Aurora, and unfortunately there wasn't anything new that I was in need of. They did have quite a bit of fairly decent Star Wars toys, but the majority of it were things most people already have. For instance, there were lots of VOTC figures (no Stormtroopers of course), plush Star Wars characters (not sure what they're called), Darth Vader talking masks, new animated Clone Wars figures (tons of General Greivous, Anakin Skywalker and ARC Troopers but no Clone Troopers), about 20 different Saga Jedi Council 3-packs (not clearanced), and still the same pyramid of OTC Millennium Falcons for $54 each. I walked over to the LEGO aisle, and they had close to twenty of LEGO Anakin's Jedi Starfighter and also the new LEGO TIE Fighter with special Darth Vader (with the light-up lightsaber). That's all I have to report on Troopers. United We Find!

Republic Commando Interview
Republic Commando InterviewIn a recent interview between Chris Williams of LucasArts and Computer Games Magazine, questions were asked about LucasArts' upcoming video game Star Wars: Republic Commando. Williams states they have heard overwhelmingly positive feedback from people who have played the demo version of this game, and they've also taken some of the feedback to improve certain aspects of the game. He also states that the Xbox and PC demo discs are very different from each other, in that the PC demo disc has some Episode III material in it because you do get to see General Grievous in it. Life of a Star Wars Collector
