It seems a bit early for April Fools jokes, but several news outlets are reporting George Lucas is secretly working on producing a CGI musical that features, get this, fairies! Could it be the sad truth? I asked this question earlier in the week, but how far have the mighty fallen? Say it isn't so George! Could this be the second animated project he referred to in my very brief interview last summer? For more check out NewsInFilm.com for perhaps an answer to some of these questions and to see the

|Our forum member Jaing Skirata is pushing very hard to win Father of the Year honors. His latest costuming work of the Holiday Special Animated Boba Fett is flat out awesome. |"Hey, folks. Young George Lucas reporting from the Kansas City area. Seems like a lot of store are slow to restock STAR WARS after Christmas, as I see many peg hooks needing product. I did see the "Empire" wave and was impressed. The new Snowspeeder Luke is, handsdown, one of Hasbro's best figures to date-- what a great figure. Since this is the 30th anniversary of "Empire", perhaps we'll get that rumored Snowspeeder re-release.and maybe that all new AT-AT that has been in the news recently. May the Force be with us!"|
Well you could say the collector has been suffering for years, until now. Today Sideshow Collectibles has announced that C-3PO and R2-D2 are both going to be made in Premium Format scale. You can check out a photo of the pair that was posted in their production blog earlier this afternoon. I can't wait to finally see these two icons in the quarter scale, I'm sure Sideshow will do a great job with the finished product! It'll be interesting to see what else is on the way in the upcoming weeks.

"Howdy Troopers! I found some new Clone Wars figures in Killeen, TX today at our ToysR'Us store. I have not heard of these being found yet, so I figured I'd share a few pics as well....these did not ring up in their computer either, so they ran them with the regular Legacy barcodes. These new figures have a special offer for a Nahdar Vebb exclusive figure. Good hunting....starfox signing out."
As the current NASA Space Shuttle program comes to a close, there's no better way to commemorate one of the final flights than with a contingent of 501st Stormtroopers, the pink astromech R2-KT and Chewbacca himself, Star Wars actor Peter Mayhew. On March 18, 2010, STS-131 will launch from Florida's Kennedy Space Center carrying a photo of Mayhew as well as a Katie Johnson trading card to create awareness of pediatric cancer and the Legion's philanthropic causes. More specific information will be released as we approach the launch date. Let the countdown begin to another huge milestone in the history of Star Wars fandom! Make sure to jump into the forums to discuss the latest 501st Legion milestone! Big thanks to Dean P. for the heads up.
|We update our Sandwatch Guides with the second of four guides for the Star Wars Galactic Village collection from Hawthorne Village. The Hoth Rebel Base was a brilliant place for the Rebellion to take refuge, if only it hadn't been for those pesky Imperial Probe Droids! You can bet this one will be in high demand during the year of the Empire Strikes Back. For more check out the latest and thanks again to Boba Binks for showing us the location of the hidden Rebel Base! If you are looking to purchase this item, you can find one right here. |Well fellow Star Wars collectors in Indy. It looks like the West-side Galactic Thief has struck again. This time is at Target (W. 38th St). You can see here that the Battle For Endor has been tampered with. All the Ewok accessories were taken out and in its place a leg piece from a Build-a-Droid. Luke's Lightsaber is missing. The entire Ewok with the Glider has been taken out replaced with a different Ewok. If you see tampered with items such as this please bring it to the service desk and let them know about this. We do not need this in our community. If you can't afford to collect, then you should not.|

As some of you may or may not know, I have been on a Star Wars blaster kick as of late. In December 2009 I finished my Tusken Raider Rifle and now after many months of slowly working on it I finished my Spacetrooper (BFG) Blaster. As I look at the finished Spacetrooper blaster and comparing it with the action figure from Hasbro, my blaster is about 2-inches too long but that is ok I guess. I was asked why am I making a Spacetrooper blaster? My answer is simply: I have not seen anyone make one before. I guess now it's time to start working on a new costume! I hope you enjoy the how-to steps and can find time to build one for yourself.
Our forum member Hemble has done it once again in his latest work: Mandalorian Warrior. It makes you wonder what you could do with an AotC 12-inch Jango figure, scrap cloth from a WWII ammo bag and some paint. This might just be one of his greatest yet, even though the figure is a larger scale. You can bet this is the type of quality and craftsmanship you can expect to find in our community forums. For more check out the photo gallery and forums to sound off your comments and the
We have an early morning sneak peek of several new repacks that are headed our way from the big H in the not too distant future. The Speeder Bike with Biker Scout, BARC Speeder & Commander Cody, AT-RT with ARF Trooper, and the STAP with Battle Droid are all repacks an do not seem to offer anything new but paint. Two of the four will be exclusive to Toys R Us and the International packaging on the AT-RT tells us the Galactic Hunt will be back on after taking a brief hiatus! For more check out the photo gallery of all four sets. Thanks again to our S.C.A.L.P. Intelligence sources for the photos, United We Find.
The one-woman show starring Carrie Fisher, "Wishful Drinking" will conclude it's run Sunday at Studio 54 in New York City. The adventure began in September 2009 and the Princess has completed nearly 150 shows. It's too bad this wasn't running another month, it would have been nice to taken in the show while in New York for Toy Fair! If you are in the New York area and are interested in catching the last performance check out their website for ticket information and the
I got a pretty awesome surprise today while looking over the latest homing beacon from the official site. There is a feature on how much of a Star Wars fan Adrianne Curry is, both past and present. She has been on a terror since donning a Slave Leia costume at Chicago Comic-Con last summer, and I think some of you will recognize the ol' dirty Trooper she's featured with in the photo on this page. Read how her travels have brought her out to Trooperfest in Las Vegas recently with my good buddy TK 118 Tom Schaefer and much more in the two-page interview. United We Find.
One of our old friends we've met on the convention circut, the original Mace in the Star Wars universe, dropped a line to say hello and wanted to pass along word on a couple of his upcoming projects. The first is new music CD from Eric Walker that is now available for download on itunes and amazon. It should be very interesting to Star Wars fans because it contains a song named Return to Endor. If any of you Troopers want to listen to it you can check out his MySpace page, and again it's available for download by going to itunes or amazon. I am also about a little more than half done on a book I have been writing "Growing Up on Skywalker Ranch", so stay tuned for info on when this will be available as well.
Who could forget the vintage Star Wars sit-down arcade game from the late 80's? Now you can own a replica of those exact same arcade games for around $50, but you might need some really tiny quarters to play this game! Would you pay this kind of money for a 3 3/4 accessory? For more on this check out Technabob for the
With the mild let down that Indiana Jones Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was, it's pretty hard to look forward to another Indy film. However George Lucas has a "crazy but great" idea that has been confirmed by Harrison Ford. If it comes to fruition it has been reported by inthenews.com it is very likely we'll see a fifth installment in the series. Do you look forward to seeing Indy and Mutt back in action? For more on this check out the
We update our Collections Pages with an army that one of our young "yout" recruits is assembling. The strapping young lad is really working hard to live up to the name Clonewarskid and you can see by the forty one images in the new gallery that our S.C.A.L.P. weapons supplier has just manufactuered for us. See the grand army by checking out the
Who could forget a few weeks back when Dustrho and I nearly destroyed his bunker field testing the RC Republic Gunship from Hasbro? It would be absolute mayhem if I could get at the yoke of this this RCX-4 helicopter that looks a whole lot like an X-Wing Fighter. An article at Gizmodo.au seems to think a lawsuit will keep this thing from ever getting off the ground. You can bet I wouldn't knock any of the fragile collectibles from shelves with on board gyro and simple controls that promise an easy flight! For more on this soon to be shot down X-Wing that will suffer "the same fate as Dak", check out the
We update our Sandwatch Guides with the fourth Ultimate Quarter Scale figure to be released from Diamond Select. This party isn't over, in fact it is just getting started as Mace Windu has been added to our massive index of Sandwatch Guides. The likeness in incredible and if you'd rather your quarter scale line have the ability to walk and talk, this just might be for you! For more check out the latest and thanks again to Boba Binks for including everything but the Coruscant alley where Master Windu's body was found! United We Find.
While checking the incoming radar, I discovered this really cool TIE Fighter costume. Just when you thought those wings couldn't get any bigger! The blog at Waylou.com has given us a look at this unique design that I'm guessing a few of us might attempt this upcoming Halloween. Just make sure to watch your peripheral vision Troopers, perhaps a TIE Interceptor could give you a better line of sight? For more check out the latest for the
We had quite an amazing year in 2009, so amazing in fact it took me an additional week to reflect, collect and transcribe a month-to-month breakdown of the events. We did our best to help out a couple of charity groups with our Make It Better Campaign, added our own reward program, attended several conventions, events and even a movie premier. Along the way we met several of the stars and for the second time in three years I got to hang out with George Lucas himself for a bit. We saw the debut of our new "Sandtrooper Battle Station" and with the help of all of you great Troopers had one of, if not the greatest year going into our tenth year of existence on the Internet. We thank each and every one of you and we look very much forward to the New Year that lies ahead. It was an incredible ride, and stay tuned for the Year in Photos but until then you can see how the unity spread by reading the
It would appear one month and one week away, however the crew at JediTempleArchives have pretty much confirmed what we've been suspecting for quite some time. It appears a new AT-AT is on the horizon to help us celebrate the Empire Strikes Back. The product description pretty much confirms this rumor, but again nothing official until Toy Fair next month. For more check out the image posted at the Archives this morning for the

Wal-Mart in La Grange (Hodgkins/Countryside Quarry) had the entire suite of Episode V build-a-droid basic figures today. The assortment is prepacked in end-cap POP displays of 12 figures each. Assortment contained Luke Snowspeeder gear, Joe Johnson Snowtrooper concept, unmasked AT-AT Driver, soft-goods Snowtrooper, R2-X2 astromech, black Cloud Car pilot, repack Bacara, and the Strawberry shake man - Willrow Hood. The end cap displays were also available in Saga Legends and Clone Wars assortments (Argyus et al), with 2 of 8 displays containing the build-a-droid assortment. Also, if you are already tired of re-gifted presents from the holidays, don't go to this particular store, as the droid factory packs on the shelves there are full of swapped Darktrooper imposter parts (from the older version figure) as well as replacement versions of Anakin and Boba Fett. And here I thought Dr. Cardbender was a menace!
I've been reflecting over 2009 and will soon be posting a Year in Review. One of those highlights last summer was meeting Mark Hamill for the very first time. Despite being in the greatest Star Wars films of all time, he has never been asked to do any of the voice acting for the many Star Wars video games that have come out over the years. The crew at Computers and Video Games.com have posted a small interview that asked him if he fancied relinquishing his role for a console release. He's done a great job doing voice acting for the Joker and maybe if LucasArts would get him back on the pay roll he wouldn't have to charge a hundred bucks for an autograph! For more check out their website for the
Our forum member Jaing Skirata traveled to Phoenix, AZ this past weekend to attend the Fiesta Bowl parade and go to a Mandalorian bbq / photoshoot. He was kind enough to upload several photos of his completed Mandalorian costume. As many of you who do own and take part in Star Wars costuming, you know a costume is never complete. For more check out the photo gallery and forums to sound off your comments and ask him how to build one yourself!
It's that time of year in Chicago if you spit, you will likely feel the ice on your tongue as it leaves your mouth. The conditions are very Hoth-like and while trying to warm up today, this article at GeeksofDoom.com have posed the question: How long could Luke survive in the Tauntaun? You can bet hypothermia factoring in along with surviving the night in sub-zero temperature outside the Hoth rebel base are 725 to 1 would make this a feat in itself. There is also some great info in there that will inform you what kind of "cover" the new Tauntaun sleeping bag can provide! To see how much time Han would have check out their site for the
|Our forum member Hemble has let his imagination run wild in his latest work: Last Stand at Benzin Plateau. With fingers in the air and the flag still waving, these Troopers pave the way with bodies as they surround a fallen comrade. No Troopers to be left behind and Empire before all else! |We have been forwarded another image from our ever-reliable Gorkoracing that at this time has us a bit stumped. A giant Captain Rex with electronics maybe? One thing is for sure, it's pretty big! With a tape measure, it reminds me of the old Shogun Warriors minus the wheels on the bottom. I guess I'm really showing my age now! For more check the the forums and check out the five more of the "stinkin" badges! United We Find. |
Update 1/4: We have learned from our friends at Banthaskull.com that this might be a part of the "Megabattler" assortment thanks to a Target Report they've just obtained.
We have been forwarded several images from our good friend Gorkoracing that we suspect are the new pack-ins for basic 2010 Hasbro figures. I'm just not sure if the badges are half as cool as the Build-a-Droid concept. For more check the the forums and let us know your thoughts on this possible change.
