Hey Troopers, there has been a very abundant supply of the new Hoth and Carkoon Waves in northern Lake County, IL. Target after Wal-Mart after Kmart all had signs of a Saga struggle, the sad thing that comes to my mind is what the hell happened to all of the Revenge of the Sith stuff? The film made nearly 400 million dollars but seven months later you can hardly find any action figures. Instead we get Unleashed Battle Packs, Transformers, Choppers and other crap that 3-3/4 inch collectors could care less about. It’s just frustrating to see what’s becoming of the Star Wars line. Maybe it’s just me but I really don’t care for what Hasbro has done to collecting in 2006. What happened to vehicles? Deluxe sets? Multi-packs? I appreciate we have a few Revenge of the Sith figures coming down the road but why is it you could find EI and EII figures on the shelves almost two years after those movies? I realize there are some people buying these new products and I can appreciate that. However what was so bad about the first Unleashed figures? I don’t see it translating to sales seeing as after a six-store patrol it is all I could see along with endless rows of G.I. Joe Sigma 6, another toy line they have completely destroyed. Good luck to you Troops in your searches, discuss your opinions on my rant here if you have feelings about this. |
“Hey Troops! Just when you thought you were catching up with the latest Star Wars action figures from Tatooine to Hoth there are more to be found on Geonosis. I got a report from a very reliable friend of mine that picked up Poggle the Lesser (repack) action figure at Wal-Mart (96th St.) here in Indianapolis, IN. This is the only new figure from the Geonosis wave of figures found. Some stragglers of Hoth were also on the pegs. Keep your eyes open for this latest wave of Star Wars action figures.”david@sandtroopers.com |
“Hey Troops, I wanted to let you know that I got my R2 unit sets from Entertainment Earth yesterday. It rained yesterday and when I came home from my brother's house playing D & D, the box got wet. Fortunately the contents of the box were nice and dry. I only wanted the set that included the RX-X2. It's not a bad looking set. A bit pricey for what you get. Nothing new in the basic figures in my area, but I’m still looking.”c-ryan@mchsi.com |

The next big event in my area will be Wizard World Chicago, and I don’t know how I’m going to be able to wait for the event to get here since it will take place in August. I wish there would be something smack dab in the center of this great country, where we could all get together, and have a big Sandtroopers party of some sort. But, with many of us having our own families, lack of funds, etc, it would be difficult for something like that to take place. What are everyone’s thoughts about trying to maybe do our own special Star Wars event? I’m not sure what the details would be, what we would do, where we would meet, but I sure would like to be able to meet everyone in person at some point in time. If you have any ideas as to what we could do, share those ideas in our forum. I’d be really excited to see what everyone here has to say. |
Hey troopers! I wanted to let you know of an idea that I have been thinking about now for the last few months, and it involves awarding one of forum members as Trooper of the Month. The specifics about this have not yet been defined, but I wanted to let you know what I had up my sleeve. I will relay more details here in our forums, so if you have any questions or suggestions feel free to reply to that thread. |

“Well Troopers it’s been quite a long time since my last report troops. So here goes. Wal-Mart - Not much in the way of figures. They have had a few cases of the Carkoon Wave but that is about all. There were lots of the choppers (why?) and the Transformers. Also saw the latest wave of Titanium here with the AT-AT and Limited Gunship. Have not received the Hoth wave yet. Super Wal-Mart - Pretty Much the same story. But they did get in 2 cases of the Hoth wave about 2 weeks ago. Only place in town to have gotten that wave. Have not seen the Titanium AT-AT wave here yet. I guess it’s a trade off for the Hoth Wave. They had a pretty decent Clearance after the holidays and I managed to pick up a few items.Target - Well they have got several cases of the Carkooon wave. But at $7 per figure (WM is $5.88) they seem to be losing business a little. But man did they have some clearance deals after the holidays. I picked up some pretty good stuff there for 50%-75% off. Now that is all gone. I picked up the last clearance items just today. Collector packs for $1.24 each. TRU - Well they actually did get one wave of the Carkoon wave. But that is about all. Well unless you need a Millennium Falcon, they have plenty of the ROTS ones or the OTC ones. I have not heard yet if my store will be closing. But it will not be a huge loss in the availability of product. They are usually not even in the game these days for SW. They do have some other lines, so I would hate to see them go, but I feel it may be inevitable. Well Troops good luck in the New Year and with the new line. And as always...hunt'em down.” swfan_bcs@hotmail.com |

“News from Central Texas is kind of dull recently but Kmart in Killeen put out a partial case of ROTS figs and I was lucky enough to find one a 501st Trooper, but it was still $6.99! The SAGA Hoth wave has hit one local Wal-Mart, but disappeared very quickly! Not much more to report from here, but I want to give a shout out and big Thank You to Sandtroopette Stephanie, a.k.a. Teffie1, for hooking me up with a Target TIE Fighter from the clearance shelves and a Leia Cup with Figure! I'm still looking for most of the Target cup sets with figures; email me if you have any on clearance in your area! Be sure to check out the forums for many great traders! That's all from central Texas, Starfox signing out...”starfox@hot.rr.com |

“Well the news from south Jersey...nothing. While running errands today I stopped into K-mart. Are you kidding me one peg for figures. Wal-Mart.Yeah it was the same story at Toys R us new carpet, no figures. I will stick to my Target where I scored walking Vader. I don't buy re-packs but I justified it by the fact that this version was never on a card back and has different paint on his chest plate. Plus I have a gift card from said store so it was free.... from a certain point of view. If any one wants I can keep an eye peeled since I start everyday at 6 a.m..”kmclark14@comcast.net |
“Today I stopped into Wal-Mart (Indianapolis, IN.) and I saw new sets of the Mini Unleashed packs. They have four new sets that belong in the Battle of Falucia and Battle of Kashyyyk. Neat looking figures for those who collect them.”david@sandtroopers.com |

“DarthPharaoh checking in. Well, the new Titanium wave has hit the Atlanta area. I even found the CW Gunship. Way cool. The big news however was at a local Wal-Mart where I found a nearly hidden and almost full Clone Wars DVD/# Pack figure display between rows of self-checkout lanes. I picked up 2 complete sets. One is earmarked for a local fellow collector but I have another set available for anyone who still needs it!! Cost ($21) plus shipping and it’s the first person that lets me know they want it! Someone who still needs it please. If you aren’t first, I’ll run by there again tonight on my way home and see if there’s any left so hurry and get back to me ASAP! I’m out; let’s crush those scalpers!”djohnson@internap.com |

“ Hi Troops! After several days of northeast Illinois Targets restocking the Carkoon wave of Saga figures, Target in Countryside, IL (LaGrange/Hodgkins) got two cases of the Hoth Wave including all 14 figures to date. Likewise, area Wal-Marts came through in a scattergun approach with the Carkoon wave coming and going. Titanium series and choppers are showing up steadily at both Target and Wal-Mart, with perhaps the strangest find being a heretofore named net-exlusive G.I.Joe HISS tank at Countryside Target with a shady resticker over the UPC. In the vein of ‘United We Find,’ I’d like to thank Trooper JediMCor of the Empire State of New York for completing a trade with me, allowing me to get my hands on the C3 Vader, and to get it from a friend and fellow Troop! Keep troopin’ Unified! Dead Hero signing off!”jason.meyers@emdiesels.com |
Hey troopers! I have some exciting news to that will help you start the weekend off right! Not sure if these were posted on any "other" sites, but if you haven't seen these yet you're going to be in for quite a surprise. We have received an encoded transmission from one of our spies that contained forty images of new Star Wars toys, which include several images of new Saga figures and Titanium Vehicles! You will NOT want to miss out on this incredible report! Read more about this here. |
Check out the article I have written regarding this topic. What I would like from this discussion is to see what everyone believes is their most prized possession in their Star Wars collection. I’d also like to know why you chose that particular item. There could be a million different reasons why you chose that, and that is something I would like to discuss with all the loyal troopers in our forum. So, read the article I have written, and then visit and share with us what your most prized possession is in your collection. |
A couple months ago I wrote an article about the new Unleashed Battle Packs, and how I was not at all thrilled with them. At the time I couldn’t believe Hasbro chose to go with the smaller lineup of figures over the larger, more detailed versions. Well, that has all changed now that I have three of the packs in my possession. My wife came home one day with the Utapau Warriors set, and I couldn’t believe the amount of detail that was put into these! The paint job and sculpt on them were impressive for something so incredibly small. She then came home this past weekend with two additional packs: Battle Droids and Clone Trooper Attack Battalion. Both of these also impressed me, and I’m starting to regret my earlier comments about these. You have to admit, though, that these are very well done for the scale that they are, and the price isn’t all that bad either as you get four figures in decent poses. So what are your thoughts about these now, especially as they’ve been in stores now for a couple of months? From what I’ve gathered in our forum, it seems that most people still have not been sold on these, but I sure have. The packaging alone is great to look at, and the figures themselves are nicely done by Hasbro. Head on over to our forum and tell us what you think about these. |

Have you been looking for any of the Hoth wave of Saga 2006 figures, but unfortunately you haven’t come across one in your immediate area? Don’t want to pay the inflated scalper prices on eBay for one? Well, you’re in luck, because fellow Sandtroopers.com forum members are finding these (and other hard-to-find items) all across the country, and they’re willing to help you out. The best thing you could do is to join our forums, and post a thread in the Most Wanted or Trade List sections in the Marketplace of the forums. Troopers have been helping troopers for quite some time, and you will notice in the Feedback thread there’s a very large number of great people who can help you out with your collecting woes. The service is free and can only help you and other troopers build up your collection. So what are you waiting for? Head on over to the forums right now! United We Find! |

In recent years we had the original Saga line of carded figures, where the background was a fairly plain blue color with not much going for itself, but of course back then we were all salivating to get our hands on these figures. Then came the Original Trilogy Collection, which brought us back to the late ‘70s and early ‘80s with its retro carded look of the vintage line. Next came the wave to celebrate Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, with its fiery lava background and Darth Vader looming overhead. And now we have the Saga 2006 wave, with a totally brand new style for the card design, but borrowing a little bit of design from the OTC line. To me, this is one of the more exciting designs Hasbro could have come up with, but lets just hope we get more new figures and new sculpts of figures that have been repeatedly done.I’m currently running a poll over in the forums, where I ask the following question: What are your thoughts about the Saga 2006 figures? I think it’s pretty obvious of how I answered this poll, but I’d like to hear what your thoughts are on the matter. Feel free to reply to the thread with those comments as well. |
Leading the charge was none other than Darth Spice himself, along with fellow staff members Boba Binks, Jimsjedi, Sandtrooper Dan and Sand Snipe. I was unable to make it to the event, as I had just had my very first child who we named Lucas, so I stayed back at headquarters and helped bring the news and photos to all our loyal troopers out there. One of the coolest parts of the events was our dispersal of Sandtroopers.com t-shirts, because everywhere you looked were troopers sporting our name on these incredibly designed t-shirts (we’re hoping to do another run of t-shirts sometime this year, for those of you who missed out on one of these). The mission was a complete success. So sit back, grab yourself something to eat and drink, and prepare yourselves for the ride of a lifetime as we take you back to Celebration III. ![]() |

"Even if my call sign says I'm from Pennsylvania (born and raised there and proud to be a PENN STATE, EAGLES AND PHILLIES FAN) I actually live in NJ. Which is okay. The Hoth wave is hitting the area, they must have gotten some at my Cherry Hill target this weekend as the remnants were there, and I also spotted them at the Wal-Mart in Lumberton, NJ . I am actually surprised as to the ones that were left warming the pegs late in the day on a Holiday and the ones that were gone. Lots of both troopers. No Vaders or Rieekan and one Artoo at both, which I got because I consider that a new one. And $1.00 cheaper at Wal-Mart."kmclark14@comcast.net |
"Hey all, I saw these on eBay and wanted to share with you the first look at the 2006 VOTC figures. Please note these are just the card backs. The figures on the back of the card are very hard to see but you get an idea who will be coming out."c-ryan@mchsi.com |

“Hey Troops, Donna from So Cal with a couple of finds. At Wal-Mart, I found only one of the new Titanium 5-pack with the raw metal Falcon. When I checked out, it would not scan so the associate sold it to me for $10. At K-mart, I found the Boba Fett Custom Chopper. No sign yet of the Hoth wave. Lastly, a big "thanks" to Habs98 and So Cal Dom for hooking me up with a couple of my wants. Happy Hunting to all!”theloneswlady@adelphia.net |
“DarthPharaoh reporting in that Target seems to be the spot NE of Atlanta. While we’re usually a week or so behind the rest of the country the Hoth wave isn’t the same case. Stopped at 1 Target on my way home from work last night and lo and behold, Hoth was heavy on the pegs! I picked up one of each except for Vader (who needs ANOTHER Vader, getting to be like Han) and left at least 2 of almost all the other still hanging. Not used to getting the waves so early, I almost passed out from surprise. As for other stores around here, KB Toys has gotten the Carkoon wave and the Titanium series but all the Wally Worlds in my area are still doing their resets! Get with it folks. That’s it for now, Death to all scalpers!”djohnson@internap.com |
Hey Troopers, acting on YOUR news I decided to mount my Dewback and head west toward Antioch, IL and see if the 24-hour Wal-Mart would provide me with the luck some of our other members have had over the 24 hours. Low and behold was the proverbial jackpot. Both of the new Saga Collection waves, every figure all just put out like it was Christmas! To put the cherry on the sundae, they were still priced at $5.88 each! I am very surprised to see these waves hitting so soon and I’ll look forward to adding these to our 2006 Image page later this afternoon. United We Find Troops! I’d say it’s a good time to get out there and find them. Thanks to everyone who wrote in for letting me know it was time to go! |
“Hey Sandtroopers. Just wanted to let you know that 2006 is been really good so far in finding the new figures. Just today at Target I picked up the Hoth wave of action figures for $6.99 each while visiting family here in Indianapolis, IN. Target seems to be the place to find all the new figures so far for me this year. Check your local Target store today. If you have been waiting for a reason to get back out on that Dewback, now you have a couple. Happy Hunting!”david@sandtroopers.com |
“Bobafred chiming in from the San Fernando Valley in Southern Cali ...pulling off "The Hat Trick" on representing So Cal! I must say I'm tickled blue on the rolling banner a Tribute to a day in a life of our Sandtrooper's Star Wars Community. Happy New Year Troops I enjoyed an elongated Holidays Celebration up until now when a day in a life had to get all minty on then drop and me a little Froth on it. I thought I was going to take a break from this collecting madness, but it looks as Hasbro wont let up. 2005!?! What can I say? The greatest movie year of all time? (At least for my child hood memoirs, so sorry ESB), awesome year for redemption, George's wallet, (10k out of my pocket!) My collection, Jangofred's collection. Wow I knew it was going to be a sic year when George had a meeting of the minds, and lined his pockets with George’s of his own forever. Also a personal thank you to Jedi Dom for hooking me up with the EBK. Bobafred firing up the after burners for 2006!”orozco91331@yahoo.com |

We have had the opportunity to update our image guides with the two separate figures. With the holiday season behind us, Boba Binks has had a chance to add the Holiday Darth Vader. While I didn't think the Christmas Exclusive this year was as good as what was done in the past, I guess you would have to employ the old Christmas phrase "It's the thought that counts!" |
Our second installment comes in the form of the Wedge Antilles Internet Exclusive. Just when you thought it was safe to talk bad about OTC figures again! If you were one of the unfortunate people who were not collecting back when the Rebel Pilots cinema scenes were available, you are now going to be lucky enough to acquire one of them. Special thanks to Action-HQ for these figures. Visit Action-HQ today for all these figures if you are still looking! |

We can all get a little satisfaction with the Box Office results from 2005 coming in. Revenge of the Sith brought in over $380 million dollars according to the box-office tracking firm Exhibitor Relations. While Hollywood had a down year, George Lucas and Star Wars did not.
