Stop returning old figures Richard Rembert!“Hi Troopers, Lisette from NYC reporting. For those Troopers who collect the 12-inch figures, I found Han Solo, AT-ST Driver and Skiff Guard Lando at the TRU near Kings Plaza Mall. Sandtrooper “Trooper Larry” reports:
It’s a dirty job but someone’s gotta do it. We like Transformers ’cuz they’re more than meets the eye, YEAH!“Hey Troops! Trooper Larry reporting with an area report from Mentor, Ohio. I caught wind of a toy and card show in the local mall, so I grabbed my modified blaster, biggest pair of SCALP kickers, and headed out. I was a little disappointed when I got there. There was only one of the local area Scalps that showed up. His prices seemed to be relatively lower than usual. Most of the figs he had were 6 bucks, but he did have a Silver Bobba for $30, Clone Wars Animated wave 2, for $12 each. The one that almost caused me to stomp him was an Ephont Mon for $30, but was the bigger man and walked away. I made sure he had seen the armor (Read: 'Sandtroopers T-shirt' - Ed.) though. The only other place I stopped was Target, and all they had was a lone animated Durge and it was beaten. Ill try TRU tomorrow with hopes that they've restocked for their sale. Keep hitting your Targets troops, the animated figs are out there, and make sure you show Scalpers what mud holes are really for.”

Sandtrooper Markus reports:
The Custom-Area“Here comes the first www.StarconstruX.de update in the year 2004 and it`s a big one! Finally we've opened our `Material Section!` In there you will find an overview about the materials we use, together with a short description. In addition you will find a section called `Tips And Tricks.` Here we give you some instructions that will help you to build your own dioramas. Both sections will be updated and expanded regularly. Hopefully this helps to answer most of your questions. Furthermore we have 14 new 360 degree turns from figures of Harald Flgge and more than 100 new snapshots of Markus Gerlach`s dioramas. And the last info: StarconstruX is guest at the German JEDI-CON 2004 (www.jedicon.de) with a big Diorama and Custom presentation and some workshops. So hurry up and take a look around, there`s a lot of new stuff to see! Thanks!”

Sandtrooper TPU Dean with the “Private Eye” Report:
TPU“We at The Private Universe thought it would be a good idea to let Hasbro UK know what Star Wars toys all the UK collectors are still searching for or are looking forward to buying in 2004. This should help Hasbro UK see what items should be made available in the UK. TPU has been in contact with Hasbro UK and they are willing to look at the results of all your wish lists. So it is important for all UK collectors to send in a wish list as the more results the better. The closing date for your wish lists is 31st January. Use the form to fill out your wish list.”

Sandtrooper Darth Zack reports:
“I went on a NW Indiana toy hunt yesterday, from TRU to Target. And unfortunately not much was happening. TRU had the Jedi 4 pack, and that was about it. KB had nothing new from the past year, Target was bare, Kmart was its usual pitiful sef, and Wal-Mart was the big winner. They had the Holo Luke wave, but only one set. They looked nice though, would recommend it to others. Only missing the new droid. That's it for freezing Indiana.”

Chicagoland Entertainment Presents: Collectors Expo
We have news on an event scheduled for September 10-12 2004. Chicagoland Entertainment Presents: Collectors Expo (formerly the Non-Sport Card Expo) will be held this year with a new name and a new venue. Building upon a 2003 sellout, this event will be bigger and better than last year! Many Artists and Entertainers will be there signing autographs all weekend. There will be six Star Wars guests in attendance. We will also co-host a Celebrity Breakfast featuring a Q&A with the guests and a Charity Raffle. This event will be held September 11th, 2004. We felt it best to announce this event early to allow our regiments to plan the voyage for a great day of Unity, fun and a chance to help out people who have a need greater than ours. We would encourage anyone in the area to come out and enjoy not only the breakfast but the entire day! Our Charity this year is The Treasure Chest Foundation. Please check the Collectors Expo website for details leading up to the event. We need your help to make this event a success! Saddle up the Dewbacks and plan to file in September 11th 2004!

NYHC“ Hi Troopers, Lisette from NYC reporting, although I don't have much to report. The TRU in Times Square had the same old stuff with the exception of the re-packaged Jedi 4 pack. The TRU in Union Square is even worse. At least I have hopes of finding something in the Times Square TRU. If anyone can find me a set of the second wave of the Animated Clone Wars figures, I'll appreciate it. That's all for now. ”

New novel coming 2/3
Hey Troops, don't forget Timothy Zahn, the grandfather of the modern Star Wars novel, has a new one coming out next Tuesday. Survivor's Quest will tell a tale of Mara and Luke post-Thrawn Duology, but pre-Yuuzhan Vong invasion. It has felt like years since the last Star Wars book has hit the shelves, when in reality, it has only been a couple of months. Let's hope the post-Yuuzhan Vong era of Star Wars novels is even better.

Sandtrooper Jedi Hawk (aka Ahawk12) reports:
Trooper Hawk's Pro Scalper 4Dateline: Central Texas Reporting In   “ Well there is not much going on in Central Texas right now. My Target is down to restocking once a week again. And as of right now they have some Clone Wars Animated Wave 1, about 4 Hoth troopers, and a case of Ultra Wave 1 hanging on the pegs. All of that has been hanging around for a couple of weeks. One of my Wal-Marts has nada. They only have 4 pegs for SW stuff anyway. Those are crammed into the space for about half of an actual figure. But those pegs are empty and have been since they reset the toy section a few weeks ago. The other Wal-Mart is better. They have a nice section for SW stuff. Several pegs (let's say 10) are there for basic figs and some for Ultra (about 4) and the 3 pegs for the Unleashed. Also some shelf space for 12-inch. Right now they have an Unleashed Han and Boba, 12-inch Jedi Luke and Ewoks, and some Wave 1 Ultra. The basic figures are all from the first available figures from EP II midnight madness (what's going on?).

“ Anyway, on to my TRU where they have loads upon loads of the CW wave 1 and lots of other stuff that is getting ripe with age. They do have the newer Unleashed minus Yoda, the Jedi 4 Pack (read 'repack'), and some other things not worth mentioning. Figure-wise they have some of the last 2003 waves also. Not much to write home about. They have not had any new Star Wars stuff since the first week of January, so things are really slowing down now. Makes the hunting harder and more exciting when somethign actually shows up. Take care out there! ” - Andrew

Sandtrooper Tyler with Canada's ...

“ Hey Troopers, I finally managed to get a toy run in last Friday while on my way to Toronto to visit family. Gone are the days however when I would find figures from the latest POTF2 wave that didn't quite make it as far north as my home town of North Bay, Ontario. Here is what I found instead:

Orillia Wal-Mart: “nothing.

Barrie Wal-Marts: “nothing again.

Barrie TRU “ a couple Saga BD's (white), a few Arena Padmes and deluxe flipping Anakins, one deluxe Super Battle Droid Builder (which I picked up), and about a half a dozen 12-inch Maces on sale for $19.99 CAN.

“ There is still hope though. A friend of mine just called to say he found the Ultra figures at Zellers and picked up all 3 for me! Price was $15.97 each. There was only one C-3PO when he left. My Wal-Mart here finally got their toy department re-organized and they have set aside 3 pegs for SW figures which are expected to arrive soon. It's not much but at least we're getting some after over a year without any Saga figures. My only fear now is that we may be getting the Hall of Fame figures re-packs instead of the Hoth wave like they are getting in Western Canada, as there have been reports of the HoF figures being found in both Montreal and Burlington Wal-Mart's. I'll let you know what shows up here. Until then take care troops. ”

“ I am real music lover and audiophile. I was browsing at Kazaa.com for the God Father's Theme. The search gave me 34 results and I have downloaded, despite my 56K connection, 12 of them. After considering which was going to be the 'keeper,' I listened to all of them in every category. Guess what? I ended up burning on CD John Williams' version. I listened to every note, every sound nuance; definitely John Williams did not bring a 'Theme' from the God Father. I felt like I was listening to a composition, NOT a 'movie theme.' Don't believe me if you want, but be your own judge and download it before it's too late. I've been out of the Star Wars scene doing some cameos here and there, even on local Puertorican radio programs. I've been darn busy with my site but my Star Wars spirit lives within! ” - George Collazo

Thanks for the info Uncle George , and keep up the great work! I know that you don't have to revolve around Star Wars for Star Wars to still revolve around you, that's just how strong the bond can be! While on the topic of John Williams, why not visit his Official Website? Learn more about the consumate composer and his lifetime of work, including Star Wars scores.

Bobafred from So Cali with "The San Fernando Valley Edition:"
Brought to You in Rapid-Fire Format  1/28/04 5:30 AM “ Wednesday morning after confirming Monday's Clone Wars wave II sightings at Burbank & Sherman Oaks Targets, I feel it time to fire up the afterburners cause 'The hunt is on!' I . to Wal-Mart in Panorama City - 'Nothing!' Quick exchange with my Scout who hoooked up 2 R2-B1, Jedi Luke, and little 2 in exchange for HW T-Hunts.

7:15 AM “ Foot's on the gas, time is of the essence shooting down to Wal-Mart's Grand Opening in Fallbrook. I arrive 20 minutes before 8:00 AM Official Opening time. I proceed to the front of the store to see the visual mass of 20 x 50 Yards of Madness awaiting entry! I walk straight to the nearest Employee who Jedi-mind trick's herself into walking me directly inside passing all of the villainy, scum, scoundrels, scalpers of the worst kind, and your ebay ers and fellow Collectors, I share a smile as Disbelief sets in on those who are lucky to catch a visual of me on the Hunt (Thermal Detonator anyone?)!

7:45 AM “ I dart over to the section in question, only to find  ... Jack! Zilch, Nada! 'What a sad disappointment!'Ultra Wampa with Hoth Luke was as good as it got! No Unleashed, or 12-inch. I scan Marvel Legends - no Red Skull ('Thank you Santa!') or Apocalypse but Plenty of Blades with Movie Poster.

8:03 AM “ I pull back and watch all the madness of this store's virgin floors being violated by such Kaos! Variant Barbies, Wonder woman, Hot Wheel 2 Packs, Boy Wonder, and Dale with Sun Block's are just a few of the Bounties served! I swap cellies, grab my Variant Bledsoe and dash out the door.

8:15 AM “ I jump around the block into Fallbrook Target. 'Just footsteps behind' I head up the aisle to find Durge and Dooku straight out of the Clone War itself, A quick upgrade on site with fellow collectors and ... half the Bounty is accounted for.

9:00 AM “ Pedal to the metal I hit Northridge Target and Kmart, only to come up short!

9:15 AM “ I hit Walmart Porter Ranch - 'Bare as Siberia.'

9:30 AM “ Up the block Toys R Us proves fruitless. As I walk out of my last destination I'm approached by a McFarlane Die-Hard Scout. He walks me over to his vehicle to hand over CN Clone, Dooku, R2-B1, and, after a little sadness expressed, Yoda! Bye-Bye Drew, it was nice knowing you! How rough can it be? 'Seeking Bounties can be a lonely and draining job.' The most sought after Bounties of Yoda and Clone Trooper, with Durge and Dooku 'in hand.'

“ A Heads up to all you Troopers: hit your Targets daily and good luck on your hunts. Look out for Yoda, and Clone Trooper (the transformation begins!) are proving to be the hardest of all scores. A big shout out to John Coleman back East, and all the So.Cali Troopers for your assistance! Give me a jingle if interested in Jedi Luke wave, or CN Dooku or Durge. Still in need of Unleashed, 12-inch Ewoks, Scout, Yoda, and can use Red ARC Trooper as well as both Holiday sets. 'Aint no Sunshine shining through.' MTFBWY-ALL! ”

Sandtrooper Ghost in the Machine reports:
“ Ghost from KC here. Quick note, my fellow toy hunter Jangofly and I both found the Holographic Luke wave (Luke, Lando, J'Quille, and Rappertunie) wave at several Wal-Marts in the Kansas City area tonight. Thanks and keep up the good work. Do the world a favor: Smack a scalper in the head and maybe they'll get some sense knocked into them. Take names and kick scalper a$%. ”

Sandtrooper Brian Lustig reports:
“ I found the next wave of Clone Wars figures at Target tonight. If you liked the first wave, wait until you see these! No Yodas, but there was Dooku, Durge, and the Clone Troop. Way cool! On another note, I am e-mailing back and forth with Jedi Cor about a 12-inch Leia that I was able to find for him, and we've been thinking that it might be cool to try and have some sort of get together for the Sandtroopers.com vets at Celebration III. Do you think that this might be possible? I think it would be cool to put some faces with all of these names that I've become pretty familiar with over the last few years. Anyway, just some food for thought. Let me know what you think, I'd be willing to help out since I'm right here in Indy. ”

We are drawing up battle plans for Celebration III on a daily basis. It is never too early to plan and for sure there will be a S.C.A.L.P. party somewhere, where did you say your house, Brian? Dewbacks to the right, kegs to the left! Stay tuned Troops.

A Public Service Message from Sandtroopers.com
About two years ago Darth Crypt assembled a squad of crack-commandos to assist him in tracking scalpers across North America. He needed a few good men to lead the charge against evildoers and first selected Steve Hart to chronicle the history of Star Wars Novels as they were released. This helped readers cope with the troubles of day-to-day action figure collecting. A good book is always better than a movie but he needed more firepower. It was getting nasty, the main reason Darth Crypt was conjured up was to handle these problems, handle them he would. Crypt enlisted (then) Captain Jason for his brilliant military mind and strategic skills. Captain Jason quickly soared the ranks to become General and Field Commander and enlisted the help of C.W.O. Spiceowan and First Officer Sandtrooper Dan. Together they would spearhead a global invasion and lead the S.C.A.L.P. Troopers and the movement. Together they would help collectors fight the villains that try to take the fun out of collecting by scalping, card bending and being flat out jag-bags. If you have a collecting problem, and you can find them, perhaps you can hire THE J-TEAM!! Send in your news, we'd love to hear from New Recruits. So if you are one of the thousands who view daily but never write in, what are you waiting for? What you have to say could help someone else, begin today! Send in Store Reports, Sucka Sightings and Beyond Belief reports to news@sandtroopers.com.

Whether in the A-Team Van or an ambiguous non-assuming wood-paneled station; by Land, Sea, or Air, S.C.A.L.P. never gives up, they’re always there!

Force of the Bay: Stick and Move
Hey Troops, I may have to trade my Dewback in for a Tauntaun if this snow keeps falling. It's a great time to scourge ebay. So if you would, sit back and enjoy another story. You may come across the first Ultra figure. It is possible to locate millions of one of a kind items. It is real easy to find things that make you very upset, why ruin a treasure like that? No doubt an early scalper trying to score as many mail-ins as possible. You never know what type of time capsule you could find. What a piece of junk. Is this real? A dangerous place ebay is, you may want use past e-buyers as a reference. Work the feedback angle and find the light that shines in the darkness. Try avoiding scalping jag-bags like this week's Power Sucka! That sorry %$#@&^% should be put down for da count! Conduct solid feedback checks on people you do business with. Sandtroopers.com neither endorses or authenticates the items featured here. Good luck to you Troops in your searches, Kick A$% and take names.

Sandtrooper SoCal Jedi Dom Reports:
Dom, of Dom and Dommer“ Just thought that I would write and let everyone know that like most of you, I have not found a thang out here in the sunny tundra of So Cal. Zip, zero, zilch, nada! So don’t feel like you are the only one.

“ I wanted to send a shout out to two fellow troopers: Jedimaster-C and trooper Alfred Orozco for landing me an Acklay and the new R1-G4 wave respectively. Great troopers, a great help in finding me a few things to fill up my collection.

“ Also, with regards to Spice's info on Amazon.com, take the advice he has mentioned. I have had many an unpleasant experience, mainly with 3.75 inch figs. I don’t think I have ever received one in C-9 condition or better, always a crease, dent, ding, bend, or a crushed bubble, yep, a crushed bubble! Though they have been kind enough to refund me for SOME of the items, it has gotten to the point of it not being worth it. So buyer beware! Good luck all. Anyone help with the 2nd wave of Animated figs? C-9+ or better? E-mail me. I can maybe help out with something you may need. ”

Sandtrooper “Trooper Larry” reports:
Dateline: Another Pass on the Toys 'R' Us Jedi Pack   “ Hey Troops. Trooper Larry reporting from the Mentor, Ohio front. I made my usual run over the weekend, but walked away empty handed. Wal-Mart in Mentor has yet to restock. K-mart still has 2002 wave 1 figures, and a few droid launchers. TRU had the Jedi four pack, but I had to pass on it. I might pick it up if the Silver Clone is released as rumored, but otherwise, I foresee it warming the shelves for awhile. Wal-mart in Strongsville has the bar wave lingering, but nothing else. Target in Strongsville has yet to restock. That’s it for this report troops. 'Til next time, break scalpers off a little sumthin' sumthin' ”

Sandtrooper Oozark reports:
Dateline: Did Any of the Black Skirt Version Make it to the Pegs?   “ Was the red ARC with Black Skirt ever found on the pegs? Curious, I was looking at my Red ARC Trooper, and remembered seeing a picture of a loose variant having a black skirt, instead of blue. I started doing some digging again for photographic proof, and found the loose comparison, red version carded, and both carded variations. It appears that the corrected red ARC has a dark grey skirt (in hand), opposed to the transition blue-grey skirt from the value packed ARC. But the loose pre-realease shots clearly show the red ARC wears a black skirt. Did any of the black skirt versions make it to the pegs?

“ I realize I'm probably barking up the wrong tree here, as a few of you are still looking for a Red ARC Trooper, but does anyone have an extra with the black skirt variant? Both of mine have the gray skirt, and I would love to trade one for the black skirt variant. Please let me know whether anyone can help. I am also still in search of a Deluxe Kamino Showdown Obi-Wan if anyone has an extra for trade or sale. Peace and happy hunting to all in the new year! Sandtroopers rock. Oozark out. ”

Scalpers beware of Lin Que DromaDateline: Even if a Scalper was Star Trek they Still Couldn't Cling On.   “ Lin Que with a Midwest report. Newer figs have been creeping in. My Wal-Marts seem to be caught in reset limbo with a lot of empty space where stuff is supposed to go. Last week on my trip to Iowa I returned home disappointed. A stop in Carroll, Iowa showed me 2002 Saga figs so if anyone wants a Captain Typho or Coruscant Disguise Anakin, there you go. I did see the remains of the Batman Killer Croc wave, no Croc, of course. Has anyone seen the Wal-Mart exclusive Spawn Figs? I am willing to buy them if someone were to pick me up a set. Take care troops!!! Even if a scalper was Star Trek they still couldn't cling on. ”

I currently work in what's left of Zany Brainy and the 'Auctions' of the Star Wars displays has me even more disgusted, the company running the auction does not even own the displays or fixtures. The money made from these is going to further line the pockets of the scoundrel share holders who have already cashed in. Now I'm not saying they should not be sold, and I'm sure if they were given away at store level they would have ended up on ebay anyway. COAST TO COAST AM with Trooper Vindicator“ Hey Troops, Vindicator back in the house after a shorter-than-usual hiatus in Collectorville, Canada. We've actually been getting scattered reports of some 2004 figures being located at Wal-Marts up here - odd, as Wally didn't carry the 3.75 inch line last year at all. Found so far have been Luke Hoth Attack, Rebel Trooper Hoth Evacuation and R-3PO. 3 out of 6 ain't bad - for us. Also reading reports of figures 7-11 (Jabba's Palace Wave) being up for sale on ebay. The boxes were a little dinged up but hey, they were $12.48 each! They also had more of the Clone Wars figures and the Hoth Luke wave in the regular figure area. The Leias were in a strange area which is the only reason I can figure that they are still hanging around. If you look around, you'll find them... I would have been happy to purchase that Hailfire Droid or Geonosian Fighter Lego at clearance. Scalpin' Scum will do anything to make a buck. Fight the Good Fight! ”

Target in Wausau, WI:
I know this is starting to sound like a broken record, but I ran to Target this morning, and discovered they had yet more new figures. I just love this store these days. I was able to score the new Jabba's Palace Luke Skywalker, R1-G4 droid, and R2-D2 wiff drink dispenser. They had more, so if you live in the area snag these up before they disappear. That is all from the Northwoods of Wisconsin, where we have been very lucky finding the new figures. Good luck on your hunts."

... and knowing is half the battle.Dateline: Do You Hear Those Crickets?   “ Do you hear that, the crickets? That's what all of the toy aisles I have been to are like. Nothing at all. I have found clearance items at Target stores but no where close to the prices I have seen reported. Thank God for the trades section where I have been able to fill some voids in my collection. I still have 1 set of the 4 Animated figures I would like to trade toward some of my current wants. Please take a look at my list and let me know. Some items I need are the 12-inch Bikerscout with speederbike, 12-inch Saga Bikerscout, and a Death Star Clash Vader. Let's work something out. ”

Force of the Bay: Ying to the Yang
As a follow up to the Suckathon I decided to show you the many more reasons to use ebay to your advantage. You have someone put an item like this at five dollars and you get eight bids to crazy amounts of loot, you earn your money. You didn't sit at the Wal-Mart cafe and wait for the toys to come by on a pallet. If you are creating something and selling it at a decent price, my helmet is off to you. If you need the bay to find your vintage treasures so be it. That seller had all four vintage Cantina Aliens, talk about a potential clean-up! It is also a great place to find some a$% kicking custom work. Again you are not buying the whole stack, someone making something and offering a product not available right now. It is all there for the taking, whether it is nearly thirty years-old or not, you will find it just like new. Any game you wish to play, any old relic you may think you'd never see again. You'll see it. Use ebay with caution, research the people you do business with. Sandtroopers.com neither endorses or authenticates any of the items featured here. Good luck to you Troops our there, Kick A$% and take names!

Force of the Bay: The Suckathon
Hey Troops, I just got back from the party at Docking Bay 94 only to find enough crap on ebay to have another Suckathon. I'm going to show you why many collectors hate scalping slime that buy something they think is a tough find only to jack the price through the roof. Many times you come across some jag-bag that thinks everyone owes them ten dollars for stopping at K-B Toys. People like this make all of us sick. If you think about all the fuel they have to put in the pick-up they are probably losing money. Note the seller name, and I encourage SoCal S.C.A.L.P. Troopers to be on the look-out. I don't own these, but I am dying for them to show up on clearance at Value City too. I am sure they will see the shelf at some point and time. If not it is really only one figure that we do not own anyway. For all of you who did not pick one up for clearance price, it makes it easy to leave crap like this alone! Let them have all 15 of them Leia on Speeders. We have to unite and stay away from punks like these. Help each other Troops and don't give in to the temptation of the Dark Side. These Suckas did and may they all have to get real jobs to save up for that double-wide. Got a Sucka? Send 'em in to C.W.O. for a tribunal here at Sandtroopers.

Is Hasbro still making these?Dateline: Cartoon Network Figs in Abundance  “ Just a quick update. I got to spend the weekend in Mantica and found the Cartoon Network figs in abundance at the local Target. Wal-Mart had nothing at all but it looked like they were gearing up for new stuff. The Wal-Mart in Tracy had some old figs , but the surprising thing was the 12-inch Yoda and Luke. That’s all for now. MTFBWY. ”

Dateline: Clearance Wars  “ Hey Troops, just thought some of you may want to 'stay on Target' and check out the Clearance Wars that are going down at the bullseye. I scored Anakin, Luke and Vader Throne Room, Snowtrooper, and Han Hoth all for a whopping $1.18! It's about time we got a little back for years of overpaying. ”

Beyond Belief: Sandtrooper Fact or Fiction, Episode 3.01 “Oddities in the Box”
Within this hour...
Background: In May 1997, the famous words, “Within this hour we will tell you five stories, some real, some fake, you decide. Your call” could first be heard. In 2002, General J of Sandtroopers joined the ranks of James Brolin and Jonathan Frakes to bring you “Beyond Belief - Fact or Fiction ...”

I can't tell from just the photos, but I'm finding this one kind of hard to swallow. Are they cooking my goose?
“All I can tell you for sure is that the doll is wrong and it is exactly as I purchased it!”
Was I supposed to believe it? Even if I did entertain the idea that they were telling me the truth, it still wouldn't prove anything to me. Custom builders have been doing it for years. A plain thief looking to make a quick buck could do it too.
“I believe this doll was placed in the box at the factory! The hands are tie wrapped to the handle bars. The legs are tie wrapped to the speeder bike with another wrap around the torso. The uniform is worn exactly as the normal figures in the other boxes. This box was one of four boxes purchased at a TARGET store. When I got the items home, I noticed that the doll in this box had red hair under the speeder helmet!”
Now bells were going off. Why would someone with honest intentions buy four of these (unless they were on a S.C.A.L.P. Mission, scoring some for fellow Troops for cost, and even then, who would arbitrarily purchase four off the shelf without scrutinizing both package and figure?).
“No one else other than a factory worker did this swap! This is the first edition error Star Wars Leia on Speeder Bike.”
If you want to see what a real moron's auction looks like, then check out this poor fool's. Some people are just useless.

So, is it really an oddity in the box? Or did the hummingbird let the cat out of the bag? The solution at the end of tonight's episode.

Sandtrooper Jedi Dom in the Woods of Wisconsin reports:
"Troops, the scoop here in East Central Whisky is that the local Giraffe Palace had lots of new figs including R1-G4, Jedi Luke, Hoth Han, bloody face Luke, waiter R2, and many others. They also had the Jedi 4-pack which I left sitting there to get dusty. I agree with recent comments on the repacking of these figs. I also passed on the 12-inch Jedi Luke. I have the old 12-inch Jedi Luke and I don't see enough of a difference. Still no sign of the Wampa or that piece of worm-ridden filth." - Jedi "Still Shovelin' Snow" Dom

"Boba-Brett with the latest area report.

Target (Avon) - "2 lone Ultra C-3PO's, couple animated Clone War figs, and a handful of War Room and Jedi Council Scenes.

Wal-Mart (Avon) - "Wampa, Rieekan, C-3PO, gold & blue cards of Yoda with Padawan, Aayla Secura, Barriss Offee, Jedi Padawans, and a Secret Ceremony Padme (Hey Trooper Trip, do you still need this if it has a slight dent in lower right corner of bubble?) Also, on the Transformer front, They had Energon Jetfire and Unicron (he's black and Sweet).

              And finally...

Target (Rocky River, OH) - "Achk Med-Beq, 2nd Imperial Dignitary, Ultra Rieekan and C-3PO, and a few animated Clone War figs. Transformers - they had Energon Depth Charge, Tidal Wave & Scorponok, but the really awesome thing was I picked up a Unicron for $10.68! Awesome deal and I know my son will love it."

"That's all Troops, MTFBWY!"

At $10.68, can anyone say "I now possess that which you most fear?"

Is Hasbro still making these?Dateline: R1-G4 Found, and MotU is finished in North 'Bama  "I went to my local Wal-Mart today and found the R1-G4 and the waiter R2. I didn't see the Luke Jedi. They had a lot of the Hoth wave. It looks like two of the walmarts I frequent here are getting Star Wars figures but one is not. Oh, and for Lin Que, MotU is finished here in north Alabama. What the hell is Mattel doing? Well, the Snakemen will not be found in our neck of the woods."

Sandtrooper Starfox reports:
Dale Gribble Conspiracy TheoryDateline: For a Limited Time Only. Very Limited.   "After reading about the great deals I decided that I wanted to order one of the FAO Vader sabers at this great low price. I did not have access to the internet, so I tried to call an order in Wednesday afternoon. I spoke with the rep on the phone and she said that the item I was requesting is out of stock. I was disappointed, but later that night I kept seeing posts that this is still available from other readers posts. So I went online to order one just to check and my order was accepted and I received a confirmation order number and everything. So my question is, has anyone received theirs yet?? Or is anyone getting cancellation on their orders? Other Central Texas news, our once 'hot-bed' of new figure activity has quickly seized up and everything has gone cold as ice, everywhere! The Super Wal-Mart in Killeen, TX is doing some remodeling and I was told they are reducing their incoming stock by 75% until the store is completed in late February, yuck! That's all from Central texas, Starfox signing out."

This offer may have never actually been available despite the listing on FAO's commercial site. We recommend checking their site during the next several days since chances are it will be relisted if it's decided the Vader Lightsaber will be offered.

Target Update from Trooper Jason Loud:
"Actually the price of $1.18 is just the latest clearance markdown at Target. I bought 5 at $1.18 and the others that rang up at $4.99, the lady price adjusted to bring them to the $1.18 price also. I also grabbed an AT-TE Lego for $14.48 and the Halfire Lego for $12.22. Anyway, keep hunting before all the clearance booty is gone."

Thanks for the hot tip Jason.

Hoth Wave at Canadian Wal-Marts
Hey Canadian Troopers, keep an eye on your Wal-Mart. The Hoth wave has been showing up there in Western Canada. No reports from the East yet. These are the first Saga figures we have seen there since the 2002 Palpatine wave! Hopefully this means Wal-Mart has changed their mind about carrying Star Wars toys after the Clone Wars figures sold out so quickly.

Area report, Lafayette, IN
Hey Troops, I stopped by Target, Toys R Us and both Lafayette area Wal-Marts. Here is the low-down. Both Wal-Marts had plenty of the new Hoth wave. I have to say I really like the newest version of Hoth Luke, especially the added feature with the Wampa combination. Plus, R-3PO is great too. Heck, any new droid is fine with me. Target had the new Luke wave. Once again, this is a great Luke, the best Jedi one yet. R1-G4 is great too, but of course you already know my opinion on droids. Even R2 is one of the best versions yet. Finally, Toys R Us had the newest Imperial Dignitary wave. They also had the Jedi Warriors 4-pack. No signs of the brown coated Han anywhere, and Target had nary an animated figure to be found. If anyone has an extra animated Asajj or Mace, I would be interested.

Staying on Target Can Pay Off.
Dateline: Really Weird Things Going on Wiff the Pricing Lately   I made my usual Friday trek to Target in Wausau, WI, and was very happy to find they had some new figures. I was able to score R-3PO, Hoth Trooper, Hoth Attack Luke Skywalker, and "Achk Med-Beq wiff bar table." They also had the second Dignitary. But the best part of my trek to Target was when I was checking out at the register. I bought four figures, two of them rang out at $4.99, and the other two rang out at $1.18. I'm not sure which ones were the $1.18 price, and I wasn't about to ask. I don't know whether this was a screw up or what, but it's about time I got a deal on these figures. People, keep checking Target because there have been some really weird things going on wiff the pricing lately, maybe you to can catch a break. Wal-Mart had nothing, and K-Mart had Durge, Asajj, and Obi-Wans warming the pegs. That is all from the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Good luck on your hunts. Peace.

Sandtrooper Lin Que reports:
Scalpers beware of Lin Que DromaDateline: I Got My First Look at the Jedi 4-pack and Proceeded to Kick Them   "Lin Que back again with a Midwest report. Much to my surprise Wal-Mart has expanded their action figure aisle, unfortunately the pegs are bare. I did find another Energon Starscream for openers and a Haradim Archer. The new Hulk and X-men figs were out but aren't my thing. I looked for the rumored Spawn exclusive but no luck so far. A trip across the river to Iowa TRU showed me a storewide clearance. I saw older SW Legos (Droid Starfighter, Desert Skiff, and Pod Racers) reduced to low prices. The also had an INSANE amount of Mace and Dooku Unleashed figs, so if anyone needs 'em, give me a shout. I got my first look at the Jedi 4 pack and proceeded to kick them. That piece of monkey feces is an insult to my eyes and soul. Whoever thought of that this piece of trash would sell needs to be kicked to death. The stupidity of Hasbro never ceases to amaze me. I implore ever Trooper not to pick that waste of space up.

"Kill the line because it's apparent that Hasbro will shove reissues down our throats. I mean how hard would it have been to take arms and legs here, different heads from there, recolor them, put a name together and give us ALL NEW Jedi? It is the Clone Wars and we need more Jedi. That set would have probably pulled in maximum profits with minimum expense to Hasbro. I can pick up any one of those figs at KB if I really wanted to. They didn't even bother to give Saesee Tinn a 'correct' lightsaber!!! He's STILL burning his hands!!! Give the man some Bactine!!! Sorry for the rant. This weekend I'm taking a trip to the inner parts of Iowa so that means hopefully I'll be able to find some stuff at Wal-marts where people are more interested in feed and farming equipment. Wish me luck. The day a scalper serves Lin is the day gays start straight-bashing"
- Lin Que

Thanks for the report Lin. By hook or by crook, Hasbro will keep Star Wars an evergreen property. Keep the faith and pray for more hook.

Sandtrooper Jim responds to my Public Service Announcement:
"I just got done reading your post and you said you wanted to hear input on the repack matter from ' vets.' Well, I have been collecting Star Wars figures since 1995, and also I was collecting them back in 1977 until the end of the Droids and Ewoks Cartoon line. As for these repacks, you are right; they really really suck s%$#. Hasbro is not doing the right thing at all. Now every time a new assortment comes out it seems you get 3 repacks then a bunch of characters that they already made 100 times before in the exact same outfits, and you are lucky if you get 2 brand new characters that have never been made before. Also the break down of cases is bull$%^#. The Clone Wars Animated series 2 figures are going to have series 1 figures in the case. So instead of getting 3 of each of the new four figures like the series 1 case, the Clone Trooper and the Durge are going to be 1 per case. These figures are going to be hard enough to find as it is, now they will only be 1 per case."

Area Report: It's a jungle out here, in January
Nametaker, Code Name: FLINTHey Troops, I just got off from another swift run across Lake County, Illinois this morning. Is it just me or does everyone feel insulted by this crap with the re-issue of old figures on new cards? I saw the Hall of Fame sets at Hasbro.com and I'm not impressed. It is shame, when they were finally starting to get things on track with regular shipments, they do something like this to tick people off. I know you don't have to buy it! It is just a shame they are taking the figures Toys R Us is returning and slapping new wrappers and sending them right back out. The Yoda in the "Hall of Fame" is still hanging on many store pegs. They are doing it before the figure has been circulated to most collectors! All I am seeing are re-issues of Barriss, Aayla and the like. Am I the only guy who thinks this really sucks? I'd love to hear some of our "vets' " view on the subject. They should have labeled these recent upchucks the "Hall of Shame", because it is a shame the games they are playing these days to tap people out for everything they can. Putting the glove on the wrong hand of Luke? I'll bet that was a mistake! I'd just like to see more of the "new" figures. The Ultra figures are the best way, if they have to stick it back to us. At least then you get a decent accessory with that line. Other than this crap, remnants of Clone Wars Wave 2, and the Leia $13 Speederbikes are long gone! What a way to get rid of something taking up that much space. I'd just like to see more things like the General Rieekan and such. Things like these are what inspired me to collect again. Until next time Trooops, Kickin' the scalpers in their a$%e@ so hard my boot stinks! Kick 'em and take names!

Dateline: Getting the Toys and Fighting the Scalpers   "It has been a while since I last reported in, but believe me, I have been reading daily. This site continues to be best for getting the toys and fighting the scalpers. Just wanted to let the troops know I scored a Hailfire droid cheap today at Target. I would prefer to trade for items on my wants list, but if I do not get any offers, would be happy to help a trooper out and sell for cost plus shipping. Keep up the good work!"

It's No Wonder They Are Bankrupt:
KB is not presently BANKRUPT, but merely filing for Bankruptcy Protection. On the third day there were even more obsolete figures at my backyard KB. New today was another POTF2 Bossk with Lando Skiff Guard (maybe the guy retirning them figures he'll upgrade and replace with the new ones coming out of these), green card AT-ST Driver and Greedo, one each 1995 C-3PO green and orange card, orange card Yoda, and orange card Boba Fett. Why wait for the recarded Hasbro "Hall of Fame" figures this year when you can get The Real Thing at $2.99 a pop. I think tomorrow I'll hang out at Victoria's Secret across from KB and wait for this crook to show up tomorrow perhaps returning orange card Lando, brown vest Luke, or the same POTJ Snoopy that showed up in a Miami Kmart three years ago.

Allentown Chase - Deep Inside of a Parallel Universe:
In a follow-up to yesterday's SE Pennsylvania madness, I stopped back at KB and found that, in addition to the 1996 POTF2 figures that were put out yesterday, Gold Bar figures had later been stocked. Eleven figures remained: from the Wave 1B (aka Wave 4) with Gold Bar reissue case were 2 each of Aayla, Barriss, Padawans, and a Yoda with Padawan (they had sold one), two Hoth Lukes, a Hoth Rebel, and an R-3PO. It seems the green cards were returns, probably from a Lehigh Valley scalper or, worse yet, Power Sucker. It was interesting doing an in-store side-by-side comparison of two versions of two, yes two, different characters separated by over seven years of production. They also had TMNT restock, four Evil-Lyns and plenty MotU in a mall front display for all you He-Man freaks. General J threw a hundred scalpers up against the wall, saw all their toys and then he took 'em all. And, what happened to this dude? Our Sandtrooper "Monwell" Dan is the only person who knows (click images to expand).

Wave Six - General Chaos Theory:
Hasbro's Wave 6 spotlights the Battle of Endor and includes rebel frontmen General Han Solo as AT-ST Driver, General Lando Calrissian, and General Madine. Street date for these is late Spring. For those of you who have boycotted the Star Wars Insider, this is your look at the Wave. Rumored to be packed in with this assortment is Hasbro's Rodimus Prime reissue, so the collective group may either take out the Death Star II or Unicron, whichever's good for them. Dateline: Taking Inventory - Hoth Wave Makes a LATE Appearance at K-B
With K-B back to biweekly truck days, Mondays are still worth the trip to the South Allentown store. Upon the royal entry, it was a promising sight seeing razor knives being drawn by the workers, opening cases out on the killing floor. With inventory in full swing, feeling like a rerun of Malcolm in the Middle, counting mascara and feminine products with Frances at Lucky Aide Drug Store, and weeks of shipments of Deluxe Yoda and 3PO, it was great to see a shipment of basic figures on the pegs again: Luke Hoth, Hoth Rebel Trooper, and - 2-1B?! In a story more twisted than those told by Jonathan Frakes on Friday Nights on FOX and Sandtroopers.com, an entire fixture was filled with green card figures from 1996. They even had a wave 6 Bossk thrown in there for good measure. Someone told me that even though Star Wars may be coming in, it will all be stuff dug out from the bowels of the distribution centers. Figures were $2.99, or pick up a Probe Droid or Luke with speeder for $3.99, or take your first step into the Expanded Universe (again) with a $4.99 Cruise Missile Trooper. Plenty of restock on Playskool too, or try on Micromachines metallic sets, again, for $4.99. Simpson freaks be on the lookout for Series 15 figures (late January shelf date) and Environment in third week of Jan. Thanks to the Troops who have been trading and making runs to Value City (even while they are closed for inventory) to find Deluxe Kamino figs for those who've never heard of this chain. General J is ringing Scalpers' necks like when a rag gets wet.

Sandtroper Young George Lucas Strikes Again:
Hazy Shade of Corvette SummerDateline: Ultra 3-PO is Ultra Lame!   "Hey, folks. Young George Lucas strikes again from the Kansas City area. Not much here, except at Target. They have been restocking figures all weekend, namely the Luke Hoth wave (by the way, the new Luke Hoth is really awesome, one of the best Lukes that they've done). Target also restocked the first four Clone Wars cartoon figures. I wasn't really too keen on these when they were first announced. I'm usually not interested unless the figure is directly from the movies. I'm glad I got them though, because they are really different and look really cool. I also thought two of three figures from Wave I of the Ultra line were well done. The General Rieekan has one of the best liknesses Hasbro has ever done - bar none, and the Wampa is of course ... the Wampa! I must say that the Ultra 3-PO is Ultra lame! The Threepio figure is pretty poorly done and looks cheap. The escape pod doesn't seem too exciting either, hardly worth $9.99. I can't wait for the Ultra Jabba!"

They also had the reissued Throne Room wave with the brown coat Han. The best thing is that the whole wave scanned at $2.38. TRU had the Bail Organa wave again, but they had both Elans with and without ears and the Homestead Padme with mostly black coat and the one with blue highlights. KB and Wal-Mart have had nothing new for at least a month. Happy Hunting!"

Power of the Bay - Transform and Roll Out:
Talent on loan from GodHey Troops, ceremoniously removing CWO "Hitman" Spice's sunglasses before the match, General J "The Anvil" has just returned via the Space Bridge from ebay and a journey in the realm of non-Star Wars collectibles for a Power of the Bay transmission. Is it a Mirage? It is a world of 80's nostalgia, of Heroic Autobots and Evil Decepticons. One moment you could be at the business end of a Cobra Ninja's sword, the next you could be scratching your head at your coronation when you're blown away by Galvatron. There was even a TV show where you could SHOOT back at the characters on the screen. It was called Captain Power, and this guy could've taken out IG-88 with extreme prejudice. Here we go. Have a safe Journey Flesh Creature.

104 Blueprints
Here is another one brought to you by Da Count. Count to one-hundred and four, because I've never seen this many G.I.*Joe blueprints in one place. Makes me remember why I got into Drafting back in the mid-eighties. The Count has ones like S.N.A.K.E., S.H.A.R.C., H.I.S.S., H.A.V.O.C., A.S.P., Killer W.H.A.L.E., and M.A.G.G.O.T. . Makes me wonder why they didn't make a S.C.A.L.P. vehicle for all you Troops to take the battle to the Toys R Us parking lot and take out the scalpers' wood-paneled station wagon with the launch of a single Stinger Missile in a firey end. If those aren't the plans you're looking for, try this one on for size:

Going B.A.T.y
Who needs battle droids when a single m-16 shot to their backpack rendered these guys useless on the battlefield? Too bad Destro and his M.A.R.S. (Military Armaments Research Systems) wasn't around during the Clone Wars, I'm sure the Separatist Forces would have purchased a few million because Sgt. Slaughter wouldn't have been their to kick all their a$%es!

Ah yes, the triple changers! I had an Astrotrain! Now what did I do with it? I think my mom gave them to the neighborhood children. D'oh! The Takara remakes of Transformers have been the best thing to happen to collectors since Hasbro got smart and created the line in 1984. They just did Astrotrain as # 11 in the series, but painted him in the black and white Japanese color scheme. Now, maybe you didn't really want to reenact the Challenger disaster with this, but just wanted to have the fruity purple one like in the cartoon. The seller is sure to point out: "This isn't any Asian or knock-off crap! This is the real deal. This toy was purchased back in the mid 1980's!" Not that we don't believe him. Hey, he's even throwing in the box, so you can grab a piece of translucent red plastic and read the tech specs card on the back.

Back to the Future: Shredder's Revenge TMNT set:
If you thought the Clone Wars Value Packs were hard to find, what about the Ninja Turtles "Shredder's Revenge" 3-pack. And, yep, just like Clone Wars single figures, the same figures in this pack are warming pegs hanging from the regular bubble packs everywhere. I had never even heard of this multi pack before. I wonder whether this was a Mexican Convention exclusive? Kowabunga, Oroku Saki, and Pizza Time, or something like that.

S.C.A.L.P. is the codename for Sandtroopers' daring, highly trained special mission force. Do your homework and conduct solid feedback checks on any seller you may want to buy from on ebay, or else become a really bad after school special. Now you know. And knowing is half the battle.

Force of the Bay: Target in My Sights, Awaiting Your Orders, SIR
I was using my standard Sandtrooper issue binoculars to check out some amazing deals at ebay. The good Doctor was kind enough to show off this ancient treasure. Our Heavy Equipment Operators are looking for 'a few good men.' Begin today. However if it is a hunt you are looking for, put it together in pieces. I also came across a vintage example of expanded universe. Similar to the vehicle the Rebels had on Yavin if one remembers the original films. There are a ton of things they could try to push on us. I never grow tired of the never-ending supply of vintage goods. You may even find something from back when Action Fleet or the equivalent was cool. It seems every time I journey into the depths of ebay, I always find something that most don't have in their collections. Just beware Troops of some of the filth that lurks. Where there is good, there is evil. Sandtroopers.com neither endores or supports the sellers featured here. Conduct solid feedback checks on anyone you do business with online. Good luck Troops, Kick A$% and take names!

NYHC"Hi Troopers. Lisette from NYC reporting. I visited the TRU in Times Square yesterday. Although the pegs were plentiful, it was the usual stuff: Clone Wars Anakin and Yoda, lots of Han Solos and Princess Leias. The newer stuff that are becoming peg warmers is the nightclub scene with Obi-Wan and Elan. There was a Clone Wars Mace and Durge. There was also Anakin and Darth Tyranus with Speeder Bike and Swoop, and plenty of Unleashed Yoda, Han and Boba Fett."

It is a World Transformed, Where Things Are Not As They Seem:
It is the World of Sandtroopers Observations, a World of Sandtrooper Dan and Succinct Coincidences. The deep south of Tunisia offers little for the average traveler, and Tataouine is no big exception from this. The architecture is quite ordinary, but the city comes alive on Mondays and Thursdays for the market. While you stay a day or two in Tataouine, a walk out to the nearby kasr is nice. From the kasr, the best view over whole Tataouine is waiting for you. But the buildings of the kasr are quite old, and people entering should watch their steps. You can also see unique underground troglodyte dwellings in the village of Matmata 114 miles from Tataouine.

Staying on TARGET:
I ran down to my local Target today in Wausau, WI in search of the $13.98 Leia with speederbike, but they were all gone. Five days ago these things were stacked three high by six across, man they went quick. However, they did have the deluxe C-3PO with escape pod, and deluxe Wampa sets in very limited stock. They also had the new Clone Wars animated figures, and they were in full stock. As for figures, all they had were one Imperial Dignitary hanging. I find this very unusual for Target. On a side note, Target also had a whole brand new line of G.I.Joe figures, and ships I have never seen before, and they were very cool. That is all from the frozen tundra in Central Wisconsin. Peace, and GO GREEN BAY PACKERS in Sunday's game.

Until Leia Bespin and R2 DAGOBAH come out I won't need any but will keep up the search and pick up figures other troopers need. Sandtrooper Young George Lucas reports:
Hazy Shade of Corvette SummerDateline: Not the Guy fom Seinfeld   "Hey, folks, Young George Lucas (the now 'ex-Mr. Britney Spears') back in town after last weekend's trip to Vegas. Anyhoo, there is not much to be seen here in the Spring Hill (Kansas City) area. Target had a brief encounter with the new Luke Jedi wave, but it is now long gone. Most Targets had NOTHING: no old figures, no Clone Wars, no Clone Wars cartoon, nothing. Not much to be seen at Wal-Mart either. I did see the new Unleashed Han Solo at a comic store and it is awesome. I don't really care for the Unleashed figures that are the 'artistic impression' or just plain look weird (e.g. the 'Dancin' Ballerina Darth Maul', Darth Sidious, Luke Jedi); I like the ones that look like they were captured right off the screen, like the old Epic Force line. I also liked the Obi-Wan and the Darth Vader they did for Unleashed. The new Unleashed Clone Trooper looks pretty cool also. Later."

Dateline: A New Year's Resolution Anyone Can Keep   "Hey out here from Central Texas. It's been a while since I checked in. So here goes. Right now it's pretty slow. Target did put out one case of the Jabba Luke Wave last week. Also, they are having a pretty good blowout clearance. I picked up the 12-inch Leia with bike for $12.48. Nice! My TRU restocked the week after Christams with boatloads of Clone Wars Wave 1. That's right Wave 1. Boo! Only good thing is that I found a Red ARC Trooper that I was missing. They also have plenty of the Yoda, Han, and Boba Unleashed wave. Still lots on the pegs, the Jedi 4 Repack also. Both my Walmarts are jokes. I mean sad.

"Well that is all for the reporting. Now I need a little help Troopers! I am looking for a few things from 2003. I need a Kamino Showdown set and a Concept Stromtrooper with his saber pointing up. Those are the olny pieces I need to complete last year. Anyone who could help me out would be great!! Thanks. And one of my many New Year's resolutions is to report in more often here at Sandtroopers. I read everyday. But now it's time to get more active. Anyway, good luck out there."

Sandtrooper Steven P. with a Plea for Help:
"I NEED HELP. My Target had fifteen 12-inch Leia with speederbikes on Monday at $50 a pop. I went back yesterday and they still had them all. Today, I stop in and they're all GONE. Apparently they got marked down this morning. Anyway, I'm hoping a fellow trooper can possibly score me one at a clearance price at Target. Box condition doesn't matter. I live in Baltimore, MD so maybe someone local can find it and we can meet up for lunch or something. Thanks."

Troops, please stay on Target and help Trooper Steve!

Sucka-Sighting: Bad Army Builder
Sandtrooper Shade tipped me off to the kind of sleaze ball that makes every one of us sick to our stomach. The thing about ebay is it is a great thing if used in the right way. Jag-bags like this clown are a perfect example of a world-class chump. People like these who would rather not work and put miles on the pick-up to go store to store should be stoned. This is where the phrase 'hard to find' comes from. Idiots who make the hobby harder and try to retire off one listing. Calling yourself a pimp, from Nashville. Someone drop me a line and let me know when to quit laughing. Avoid this Troops, at all costs. Have a Sucka? Drop me a line, the Veteran S.C.A.L.P. Troopers would love a good laugh at some Suckas' expense. Kick A#$ and take names Troops! Thanks again to Sandtrooper Shade for the listing!

Frauds lurking in the Forums? It wouldn’t be the first time!"Hey Troopers! Here in the St. Louis area things are going well. The Alton Target has had the animated figs on the pegs all week. Still haven't seen the Jedi Luke wave though. Hopefully tomorrow there will still be plenty of goodies to pick up. If anyone is in need the animated stuff let me know asap and I will try to pick up extras. I am still desperately in need of Padme Secret Ceremony x2, Padme Lars Homestead x2, Jedi Luke and many various others. If anyone has these please let me know. I will gladly trade or pay cost and shipping. My trade list is still in the forum and pretty well current. Honestly, I hate to say it, but I am not so sure that we don't have a few undercover scalpers floating around the forum. Some of the offers I've seen are ridiculous! Beware of who you deal with. Anyway, PLEASE help with the Padmes! I need help, your my only hope. Peace." - Brandon

Alhambra ROOLS!"Greetings from a balmy 67 degree SoCal. Had an opportunity to hit another Target before work today. Stopped by the Pasadena, near Old Town, one and saw only one set of the Animated Clone Wars figs on the pegs. There were no other SW figs on the pegs at all, NOTHING! I was just thinking right before Christmas, the Targets stocked up on those Hulk hands that made sounds when you hit them. I remember those things were literally stacked to the ceiling, and today, none to be seen. Wassup wit dat?! Anyhoo, remember to be good to each other and give, give, give and ye shall receive back ten fold. Peace, OUT!"

They did have an Ultra Wampa, Boba Fett and Yoda Unleashed. I stopped by Wal-Mart, K-Mart, and TRU on Dale Mabry and they didn't have anything. The TRU had the three Ultra Figures. They’re Back! The stores here in the Lehigh Valley are decimated, destroyed and otherwise ravaged. I managed a cool find at South Allentown KB. I snagged a Darth Maul "Sith Lord" black ball cap with adjustable leather band and "Jedi do not concern me" on the back. The front says "Sith Lord" with the dual-bladed saber. The cost was $2.24, so why not? The only other thing I got to indulge in were a few packs of Topps Garbage Pail Kids. Remember Garbage Pail Kids? Along with Star Wars, G.I.Joe and Transformers, GPKs were the major player in the mid-eighties. Gone are Spikey Mikey, Atom Bomb, Doughy Joey, Luke Puke, Lucas Mucas, Nasty Nancy and Juicy Lucy; today we have Bustin' Justin and Britney Spews, but still as cool as the originals. My friend Trooper Brian here in the Valley also wanted me to let you know he has a Lego AT-AT that's been opened, put together once, and put back in the box. Comes with box, instructions and all pieces. He's selling it for $50, half of what he paid for it. E-mail Brian directly if you're interested! Have a safe journey flesh creatures.

... and knowing is half the battle.Dateline: Be Sure to Trip that SCALPER on the Way Out to His Car   "Things have been kind of quiet for a couple of weeks now, with all of the stores relaying out the Toy Dept. Most of the Targets are empty, waiting for new stock, and the Wal-Marts and TRU's have the same old peg warmers. Nothing at all at KBs.

"In regard to the signs in the Target stores about 'Collectible Toys', a new Target opened near my house a couple of months ago, and they still have 2 of the signs in the action figure aisle. A couple of years back I remember my local TRU had a sign in regarding the same thing. I know that Targets in my area do not always stock their action figures on the over night shifts, because most of the scalpers would be waiting for the stores to open up, then they would clean out all of the new product, especially the Matchbox Cars. So now at least we can somewhat all have a chance at finding figures being stocked at any given time. I have been at a Target when a clerk is stocking the pegs at 9:00pm.

"In trading news, I have a set of wave 1 Animated Figures for trade (Obi, Mace, Anakin, and Asajj). Please send me an e-mail if interested in these, and what you have for trade. Thanks, and be sure to trip that SCALPER on the way out to his car, so the cards are bent and torn, and will be no good for ebay."

Wal-Mart Clearance
Hey Troops, I stopped by Wal-Mart in West Lafayette, IN this afternoon. They marked down all their non-Clone Wars packaged figures to $3. This includes both of the newer Padmes, the night club wave and pegwarmer 1st class Greejatus. Also stopped by Target in hopes that I would find the new animated figures or any of the newer waves, but all I found was the Ultra wave. Not a single carded figure on the pegs to be seen. Oh well, for those of you hoping to find some cheap figures, perhaps your local Wal-Mart will be the place to check.

Sandtrooper Jedi Chris MacD with Canada's ...
From Somewhere Out There
"Well, like Trooper Vindicator (jjreason) said, there hasn't been much of anything new here in Canada at all. The only thing new so far for 2004 has been the Jedi Warrior 4 pack. One thing that Vindicator didn't mention, and I have a feeling that only certain parts of Canada have received these, is the Unleashed Boba (Carkoon), Han Solo, and Yoda, all very nice figures (just haven't had the money to get them). So hopefully things will improve here in Canada in this New Year."

Target in Cherry Hill had the Luke Jedi wave,or what resembled it,the cards were so smashed and the bubbles looked like they were run over by a semi. Thanks whoever did that one, I was going to get some to trade. Target in Burlington had the Luke Hoth wave as did the KB. had the Throne Room wave, and the brown coat Han or blue, I honestly could not tell the difference. Before I turn to an online store, is there ANYONE with an extra Asajj Cartoon Figure? Also, on a separate note, Zany Brainy will be at 50% off the entire store Thurs. there may not be a lot af good stuff left, but if you like Large G.I.Joes, we got plenty."

Glad I did. They had the Clone Wars Animated figs which I passed on, but the big score was the 12-inch Princes Leia with Speeder bike for $12.48. There were 3 left after I grabbed mine, so anybody in the area who doesn't have one that wanted one, get to Target. Take care troops."

This seems to be an alarming trend Raja, and perhaps a Suckathon will happen after all. Some places that are considered to have outrageous prices list it around $125.00. However they are sold out, but I would say the answer to your question is still hell no! Wait that auction out. See what he ends up with and that could also give you an idea of what it is worth on the bay.

Sandtrooper Lin Que reports:
Scalpers beware of Lin Que DromaDateline: Pushing Scalpers So Hard to the Left, their Hearts End Up on the Right Side of they Chest   "Lin Que with another Midwest report. The Animated Clone Wars figs finally came in!! I called Target yesterday at work and was elated to find that one Target in my vicinity had finally reset their toy department. I took an early lunch and was blessed to see a virgin aisle unspoiled by scalper mischief!!! Me an this other guy got first pick. I made my way down the aisle and caught a complete case of LOTR Trilogy figs!! I sent a 'thank you' to the collector gods and due to the unfortunate business of having only two hands ran and got a cart. I put in my four animated figs and a Boromir and was about to make my way to the register when I saw the Hoth and Tatooine wave. The guy that was sharing my joy had been through the figs already and snagged the Jedi Luke. As I was cursing my luck he points out he saw two and grabbed only one, so I got one as well.

" 'Hell yeah' I thought it can't get any better than this. But it did as I was able to get my first Alternator. The greatest thing about my haul was it was just me and a fellow COLLECTOR getting first pick, no scalpers were present but they would have been harmed during the filming of that scene. It was beautiful. I hope every collector gets a moment like this. They don't come often but when they do man is it the shiznit. Take care troops ... pushing scalpers so hard to the left their hearts end up on the right side of they chest."

Sandtrooper Vindicator reports:
COAST TO COAST AM with Trooper Vindicator"Top of the New Year to you Troopers, Vindicator (aka jjreason) here with the end of the year report from Canada. 2003 was without a doubt the poorest year we've had for Star Wars collecting since the reintroduction of the brand in 1995. By my count we received at retail a whopping 17 new basic figures out of the 44 released (there have been unconfirmed reports of a couple of others; I'm not buying these, and I'm not including variations or those 7 repacks). Sadly, 7 of those figures were the less-than-great wave 1 of Clone Wars basics, which just showed up here last month. Besides the basics we got only 2 of the new deluxe figures (Spider Droid and Super Battle Droid Builder set) and 2 of the TRU 4 packs (Ultimate Bounty and Hoth). That left anyone really collecting with a whole lot of 'U.S.-contact-a$%-kissing' to do if we wanted to stay current.

"Our best chance at finding anything Saga was Toys R Us, though most of us could still find you a Shmi Skywalker more readily than say Han Hoth Rescue. Wal-Mart in my town did not carry ONE (NOT ONE) Star Wars toy from the 3.75 line this year. I didn't see one figure there. Zellers was where I found my Clone Wars stash, though TRU wound up getting them a couple of weeks later.

"Here's to hoping they get this sorted out a bit in 2004 so that we can enjoy finding at least a few more things for ourselves. Vindicator out. Happy hunting."

Great to hear from you again Vindicator, I hear that the 4-Packs have landed in Canada as well as the West Coast here in the U.S., hopefully this is a sign of things to come in 2004.

Sandtrooper SoCal Jedi Dom Reports:
Dom, of Dom and Dommer"Just thought I would add a little of my own insight to the site and what I have found in my recent trips up and down the So Cal inland empire.

"I picked up all 4 Animated figures, all of which seem to be readily available at Target. I saw most of the re-carded figs, with the exception of Han Hoth which seems to be rare one. Found the new Hoth wave again, though not in great numbers. Also found the Jedi Warriors 4-pack at my local (25 miles from home) TRU. These are much better packed than their predecessors. They are fully encased in cardboard, similar to the Kabe and Muftak packaging with a window, but the package is just as large as the previous three 4-packs. Still, I am not one for repacked figures, especially when they try to lure you in with fancy packaging, and adding an electro-restraint as bait. I think I'll pass. Anyways, not much else at Wal-Mart except the deluxe figs. Still no sign of any 12-inch figs since the AT-ST wave, and no Tatooine wave as of yet.

"Just thought I would let everyone know that I have an extra Unleashed Han that I would like to trade, and I can even get any of the figures that I have seen that are listed above. I am still looking for the Kamino deluxe packs (Trooper Dennis - Spice says you may be able to help), an Acklay, and the entire Tatooine wave. Shout out if anyone can help.

"Does anyone know whether a Clone Wars Dooku is planned anytime soon? And, if so, will it be a new wave or by itself? I'd like to know. Also, what is the deal with the Silver Clone Trooper? Will it be available in 2004?”

Area Report: A beautiful town called Avon
Hey Troops, hit the road this weekend for a wedding and ended up in the town of Avon, Indiana for the event. After a long trip in the car with the family, I surveyed the strip of stores that were on Rockville Road. I got up early and hit the strip to check out what a change of scenery had to offer. The Target offered hardly anything as far as figures, only three: Clone Wars Anakin, Han Solo (ANH) Saga, and Aayla Secura on Saga blue card. They did have the 12" Princess on the Speeder bike. The Meijer store had all three of the new 12" Garindan, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the Jawa 2-packs. It was kind of cool to finally check one out after reading about them here for years. The Wal-Mart was just preparing to open. I didn't realize this however; they had a full lot of cars when I strolled in to see a bunch of employees in training. Needless to say I was a little embarrassed. Guess they don't lock doors round yonder Troops. Wish it were that way where I live! Maybe Avon, IN has it's own brand of scalpers. My only regret of the trip was not staying an additional night and trying to get a hold of our own Steve Hart for perhaps dinner or a drink. I still wanna know what that maraca thing is all about from his about us picture. I was forced to cut the trip short and beat the snow to get home late last night. Next time Stevie! All you pretty boy scalpers in Avon, rest while you can - I left some S.C.A.L.P. literature in the aisles, you won't have much time now. Good luck to you Troops out there in your searches, kick a$% and take names!

Sandtrooper Drizzit reports:
Milwaukee, Wisconsin"This isn't really news, but a plea for help. I am looking for the Lego AT-AT for 25 bucks. I have looked around here and can't find it at any of the Targets. I would be willing to pay cost plus shipping to Wisconsin or trade if there is something you need. Please help a fellow trooper out, thanks."

Sandtrooper Jay Loud with some thanks:
"I'd just like to give a big thanks to Dennis Wright for hooking me up with three Kamino Showdown deluxe figs from good old Value City at cost, but also spent a little extra on the shipping to get them to me quicker. A real nice guy who stayed in constant communication throughout his search for the figures."
Jay Loud

Glad you could locate those elusive Deluxe Figures Jason, they are, and have been, difficult. Hats off to Trooper Dennis too for taking that extra step. A perfect example of what this site is all about, UNITY!

Sandtrooper Dennis Reports:
"Here is a report from my latest mission:

Wal-mart (Gurnee, IL): now sells the Ultra wave figures. They also had Clone Wars Obi-wan, Mace, Saesee Tiin, & Kit Fisto.

Target (Waukegan, IL): still has the 2002 figs. I mean seriously, it's 2004 already and they're still there. If this keeps up, they'll be hanging on the pegs in 2005.

Target (Gurnee, IL): is the same as the Target in Waukegan.

TRU (Gurnee, IL): had Clone Wars Anakins and Yodas.

"I hope everyone had a Happy New Year. Let's hope 2004 will be a better year and we'll be able to get the figures that we want, especially store exclusives. The animated Clone Wars figs are in high demand but it seems that Hasbro isn't making enough to meet that demand, which is music to the scalpers' ears. Look at the previous exclusives like the B-wing, Death Star Trash Compactors, and the Clone Wars 2-packs. Few of us have them, but scalpers have lots of them. If there's any New Years resolution we must follow, it's to continue to fight the scalpers."

Sandtrooper Trip reports:
A REAL Legacy TrooperDateline: Another Round of Successful Trades   "Hey Troopers, Happy New Year! Hope it is a good one for all. We will be closing in on Episode III before you know it. Here in St. Louis, it's hit and miss. I actually passed on some new stuff a few weeks ago, and haven't seen a thing since. I've seen 3 different Wal-Marts without a single figure. Target and K-Mart seem to be he place to be though. I'll do some hard scouting over the weekend. If you haven't yet checked out my trade list please do so, I need some help catching up. I've gotten a lot of replies, but there's still a lot figures to come and go. Let's help each other out. Just had a lightning fast trade with JediKaturn. It wasn't the first time and probably won't be the last. He's highly recommended. Ending transmission." - Brandon

I picked up SS4 Goku and I can't wait to see what Baby will look like. I hope everyone has a great New Year!!! Scalpers only see my back cuz I'm three steps ahead of them." - Lin Que.
