LET THE HUNT
BEGIN!
The
morning would be quite eventful as the highway system in Illinois is
always pretty difficult during the second season known as
construction. I made my way to Rosemont where I would have an early
morning breakfast with Dustrho to get the mission started on a good
note. We made our way to the convention center but without any of
the major Star Wars manufactures on hand, there wasn’t really too
much to be in a rush over. I really thought with this show being
before San Diego Comic-Con, that might bring back companies like
Hasbro that have been absent since 2003.
There
was also quite a bit of stir around the Midwest Garrison booth as
the badges for the Droid Hunt were being handed out. This was also
near the place to get your ticket for the Steve Sansweet
presentation on Saturday so it was worth the trip to stop by for
that. We also had a cache of prizes that Sandtroopers.com would be
donating for the first ever Droid Hunt at Wizard World Chicago.
There
were also some of our online sponsors like
Brian's Toys and
White Wizard Toys set
up with deals that are running all weekend. As you’ll never know
what you’re going to find until you get out there and look. We spent
an extended period drooling over the goods that can be bid on at
Premiere Collectibles Auctions. Overall, the show seemed just as
busy as last year so it was good to see the economy didn’t have too
much effect. We look forward to the rest of the weekend as we still
have a surprise or two in store for our Troopers!
