DAY 4: FINAL DAY
It was really an exciting weekend and to cap off the 10th annual Chicago show I decided to take it easy and attempted to not spend the entire day there. There really wasn’t much visually that we haven’t covered in the past few days so I had a good opportunity to just enjoy the show.

As in the past my two sons accompanied me down because if it’s the only thing I really hate about attending shows is the time I have away from my family. The boys were just as excited to see Mattel, as they would have been a Hasbro. The Justice League line did what Hasbro should be doing with Star Wars. I still can’t see why they have neglected this show for three years now. Being so close to Comic-Con you’d think they could make it out and give us all what we expect out of them at an event as large as this. Give us a good show!

There was still plenty to see but you just couldn’t help but think it could have been better. I have to thank Ray Park, Daniel Logan, Matt Wood and Doug Wangler. Without their appearances this show would have been a bust for a Star Wars fan. There are plenty of high priced places online to buy Star Wars toys, a twenty-five dollar entry fee along with an eleven dollar parking would cover shipping pretty much from anywhere in the world so really you’d think the dealers would sell for less. I did see prices sliding downward a little bit as I wandered around this morning.

We decided to wait for Matt Wood to come down and be the first in line because I wanted to get out of there a little early today. It was nice to see him promptly arrive and I really have to say this guy is a class act, especially with the kids. To hear him imitate the voice live and see the look on my kids faces! That is what it’s all about, and for that experience alone it was worth the ride down there. However around 11 a.m. you began to get the feel the show was slowing down. I really wished I had stuck around for the last minute I don’t want to bring it home sales. Those are sometimes very beneficial and what is even better you really never know what you’ll find. Special thanks to Wizard World, Federation Toys, the 501st Legion and everyone else that made this weekend one to remember. We look forward to starting a new decade next year. United We Find!
