It was great seeing such a HUGE turn out this year after a fairly quiet 2006 SMF. The promoters of the show did a fantastic job listening to the input last years attendees and vendors offered up. The guest list was fairly diverse and they managed to bring in a nice mix of past attendees who are fan favorites (like Mr. Bulloch) and people making their first appearance at the location (like Mr. Park).
If you looked hard enough, there were plenty of good deals to be had. As soon as I walked in the door I noticed a vendor with a SS 12' Leia as Boushh priced for only $30! Needless to say, it didn't last too long. Fellow Trooper Mohawk Elvis scored several deals on day two including some vintage 12" figures, Mini-rigs and I believe he may have even walked out with some POTF coins to add to his growing collection. I myself made only one purchase, but it was one I've been waiting almost 3 years to make. I finally met Mr. Ray Park and got a personalized 8x10 autograph from him. I've heard the rumors about him and they're all true. I nicer guy you will never meet. He was gracious to everyone who visited his table. He always had a smile on his face and a handshake to greet you. Here's hoping he visits our little con again in the not too distant future.
Everyone we talked to seemed to have had a great time at this year's show. Here's hoping the promoters noticed and will use this year's show as a springboard for even greater shows in the years to come.
