SDCC STAR WARS FAN CLUB BREAKFAST

The 2007 Comic-Con Star Wars Fan Club Breakfast was really a great time. I had to get up at 5:45 am after being out all night so I was ready for a great meal when I got there. The food was pretty good and it was hot which helped make me wake up. When you got in and picked your seat you got your Concept Obi-Wan & Yoda figure, Adam Hughes Print (which we could get autographed), replica ticket, and other little things on the table.

Mary Franklin got up and started things off by thanking us for being there and going over everything we might hear. Then a representative from Dark Horse got up and talked about the fun of doing the comics and that we should be on the look out for some good stuff coming our way. Then Derryll Depriest got up and talked about what Hasbro has coming. He told us that the figures coming for the new Clone Wars line will be quite cool and that it will do a good job representing that series. He could not go into more but it sounds like a good thing for us. Then he talked a little about the Indy line of toys and that there will be figures from all the Indy movies not just the new one and they will be done in the style that the Star Wars figures are being done.

Next, Steve Sansweet walked to the podium to just talk with us about all things Lucas and Star Wars. He seemed quite excited about the new animated series and said that Lucas is really getting into how that series is coming along. Then he talked a little about the live action saying this is coming along and it will be something quite cool as well. He ended his time by thanking us for help making Star Wars what it is.

The last speaker was the father of Katie Johnson the little girl who passed away of Brain Cancer. This to me was quite moving that he would want to get up and talk about what happened. He mainly focused on the 501st and how awesome it was to meet George Lucas at the Rose Bowl. He did talk about the impact of seeing the R2-KT figure for the first time and that it really meant a lot to him. The last item he mentioned was that we need to make sure we pass on our passion for Star Wars because of the love we have for it.

Overall, it was a great event. I loved getting the items from the goodie bag and Adam Hughes auto on the print. Sure the $60 bucks is a decent amount of money but the whole event and being apart of it makes the time and money worth while.  United we Find!
