SCAR WARS ROLLS INTO THE MIDWEST

One bout only: Tornado Sirens vs. Sioux Falls Roller Dollz at 7:30pm.

What else needs to be said about a night of girls knocking each other over and Star Wars characters!?! It has been quite some time since I attended my first Roller Derby event in costume with the Bloodfin Garrison of Indiana. For the second year in a row now the 501st and Rebel Legion has been invited to mingle with the crowds at the Star Wars SCAR WARS night with the Naptown Roller Girls. I partook as the lone Snowtrooper but that was fine be me I got more attention that way. Plus this Snowtrooper had a stalker at first who was afraid but then warmed up to this icy trooper. Many characters from the Star Wars Galaxy was there from Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, to Commander Bly, Tusken Raiders, some pesky Rebel Troopers, Chewbacca and Darth Maul amongst many others. Even some of the fans that were there dressed up for the fun.

There was a table set up for local Animal Shelters and Humane Society that this trooper really supports. Remember our four legged furry friends cannot talk and therefore it is up to us to make their voices heard. If you were one of the lucky ones with a special sticker and were caught with it you were escorted off to jail! That is right you get caught and you get a time out for 5-minutes.

We had to be careful because the Naptown Roller Girls were not liable for any resulting injuries. Our bouts are family friendly but it was VERY loud! The fans were excited! If your child is scared easily by loud noise, a roller derby bout may not be a good place to be. You may also want to bring ear protection for young children if you ever decided to attend an event such as this. Overall it was an enjoyable time to be had by all, and luckily no one was seriously hurt. Even members of the Rebellion! 

Thank you to the Naptown Roller Girls, 501st , Rebel Legion and all the troopers and handlers. There was lots of noise, screaming, food, fun, Star Wars characters and girls knocking the snot out of each other all in good fun. What better way to spend an evening with the Naptown Roller Girls! Final score 64 to 51.
