QUINLAN
VOS... LIGHT OR DARK?
Doug Wangler, Quinlan Vos model, pays a visit to Book World in
Danville, IL to pick up the latest issue of Star Wars Republic. He's
shown holding issue's 76, 77, 82 and 83. Their appearance was to
commemorate the last issue of the Star Wars: Republic comic. The
final installment in a three-part series, “A Jedi’s fate” delivers
quite a punch and well as answers all the questions you might have
thought of during the course of issues 81 and 82, such as the fate
of Master Vos, his love interest Khaleen, and their child. More
importantly, we learn ultimately, what path our favorite EU Jedi
master will follow; the Light or the Dark. Seriously wounded,
stranded in the forests of Kashyyyk, with only the feelings of the
deaths of the Jedi, far and away, Quinlan is forced to stay alive,
all the while being hunted by the very clones he commanded.
The dilemma was a complex one: Draw
from the dark energies of the Dark Side to heal himself and keep him
alive, as well as using his anger to hunt those who hunt him and
avenge his fallen Jedi brethren, or remain true to the Light Side so
that he may once again find his new family in Khaleen and his yet
unborn child. Ultimately, our hero chooses just that, to sacrifice
himself to the Living Force and destroy his former Clone Commander,
Commander Faie so as to end his bloodshed, hoping to protect the
Wookiees who would surely be destroyed by this new Empire. In the
end, aided by his friend and foe, Vilmar Grahrk, Quinlan was taken
to heal inside of a Bacta tank. Eventually, Quinlan returned to his
family, Khaleen and their son Korto Vos, who were searching for any
remaining clues as to the fate of Vos on Kashyyyk.
Our story ends here, with a handful
of Jedi left alive in the galaxy, to once again take up their
lightsabers to defend a galaxy that would need their aid, thus
ending the Star Wars: Republic saga. Our Covert Op Chip Childress TK
9965 was able to snap a few recon photos of the event. While the
Expanded Universe has been set ablaze with Quin-mania, it is really
exciting to see the adventures of Master Vos since he was left out
of the filming of Revenge of the Sith.
