REBELS &
IMPERIALS HAVE INVADED MSI
It is the final weekend of the exhibit Star Wars: Where
Science meets Imagination at the
Museum of Science and Industry in
Chicago, IL. The exhibit started back on October 5, 2007 and has
been quite successful throughout the holiday season. Even though the
team at Sandtroopers.com has only made one previous mission, ticket
sales overall were "super" I was told during the past two months. I
also have to commend the 501st Legion for having several members on
hand throughout the weekends, the final touch better than a cherry
on a sundae. It would be very exciting to make it out one last time
before the exhibit moves to Minnesota on the next stop.
There were several awesome costumes
on hand from the Midwest Garrison members. Darth Vader would be
accompanied by a couple of Stormtroopers, Boba Fett and an Imperial
Officer. There would also be a great balance of Rebels on hand as
C-3PO had several fleet troopers, Princess Leia and Obi-Wan Kenobi
to keep the fight even. Even though the exhibit was sold out, those
who couldn’t seem to be satisfied with the presence of the Legion
members. During my lunch break I was able to penetrate the tough
security and make my way through the exhibit, as I’d never seen it
before. While I have seen much of it at Celebration
III,
IV and in
pictures from other Dewback Patrols, it was nice to finally see some
of it in person. Overall it was breath taking as even though the
price tag was a little steep, I’d have to say the experience was
well worth it. If you haven’t been able to attend, set your course
to the land of a thousand lakes in the near future. Until then
