Toys 'R Us and Wal-Mart in New Jersey

ALL HAIL THE MASSIVE LORD VADER!
The plan included waiting in line at Toys 'R Us (Auburn, MA) with everyone else for those doors to open. My collecting buddy (BosskMR) informed me that he talked with the Manager of our local Wal-Mart (Oxford, MA) and was told that if anyone was outside in line they would open there doors. I waited there from 10:30 to 11:00pm and no one showed up. I called the store and no one new anything about opening up so I got nervous and bailed to TRU. There I was third in line with about 40 others coming in right behind me. Everyone in line was really cool and we were all making fun of the Darth Vader that TRU had for the crowd to enjoy. This Vader was too tall and his helmet was way too small. I wish I had my camera with me. The doors opened and the rush began. This TRU really only had the Jedi figures, and no Collection 2, a lot of people were upset over this, but since I only needed a few since I scored them before the stores stopped selling them early really didn't effect me. They only had a total of nine Unleashed and I managed to grab two before they were all gone. Everything else was pretty much available. They did have the Holographic Yoda, but only one case, but I did mange to get a rain check. I was cashing out and my buddy called to tell me that he and only one other person showed up at Wal-Mart and they had the store to themselves. I flew over there, and picked up a few Blue & Red Royal Guards as well as the Unleashed Grievous I missed out on earlier. Wal-Mart had plenty of both collections, and when we were ready to leave, some folks from TRU were pulling in. All in all it was a fun night, and was really cool to "geek" out with everyone.

My only complaint so far was with TRU. They have a really cool display, but the Vader in the middle is too big, and should have been raised above the section to add more shelves/pegs for more merchandise. I am not sure if this is how it is in all stores but I would imagine it to be.

The next morning I have no idea how I managed to get up to hit Target at 6:30am to get my ticket for the Lava Vader. We pulled in and the manager said they would not give out tickets until after 7:00am. So we were cool with that and decided to go to Wal-Mart right across the street to see what they had to offer. This Wal-Mart (Westborough, MA) was PATHETIC. No lie, they only had about ten pegs of figures, and two pallets of the LEGOs in the main isles. Not to mention they piled everything else onto the top of these pallets. Lightsabers, Deluxe, 12'' etc. If you touched one item the rest would fall off. I didn't buy one thing and left the store in disgust. We headed back to Target and got our tickets with about ten others. We got our Lava Vaders and took off. To add to this the night before was cold out, and the next morning was downpours, so now I am sick, as well as very tired. I hope to hit some more stores this week to see what else everyone has to offer. Now I am just two weeks shy of heading off to Indy for Celebration III. Hope to see you all there.
