TD 5491 reporting in from the field and for duty! On May 2, 2009, a Rebel Spy, a Imperial officer and her daughter dressed as Boba Fett and I joined our local M.A.D.D. (Mother's Against Drunk Drivers) organization here in Baton Rouge to help raise money for people and families affected by drunk drivers, a serious matter in our area and the rest of our country with the highest deaths caused by Drunk Drivers being the deaths of children. Along with us in costume, my Garrison Commander and his wife escorted us as wranglers to help.

The walk started at 9am and lasted a little over two hours and took place around the lakes of LSU. The total walked was 3.1 miles in costume. It was a hot morning with a nice breeze so it wasn't too bad. We met a lot of people wondering why we were there and so I told them even the Empire (the bad guy's) does good deeds, and explained what the 501st does and why we do charity events for our communities.

Along the way I passed out a few temporary tattoos to the kids which were a hit! All of the walkers were totally blown away that we were doing this in full costume and thanked us for coming out to help with the M.A.D.D. cause walk. We were well received and welcomed back next year with open arms. Our goal was to raise $501.00 for the cause although the total as a team was not that high at least we were able to raise a total of $132.00. At the finish line I was asked by Baton Rouge Police Officers to take lead on the patrol. TD 5491 out...
