THE EMPIRE
TAKING OVER A LIBRARY?
When
I was growing up I was told to be quiet at the library. Today that
was not the case at the Public Library in Glenview, Illinois. The
Midwest Garrison held
a meet and greet for the kids in the area. With the likes of a
Stormtrooper, a Sandtrooper and Darth Vader indeed a dark afternoon.
A few Jedi were dispersed to hold order should things get nasty.
The
kids could also take part in a few games that were lined up in case
the lines became too much of a wait. A Proton Torpedo Toss, Boba’s
Buckets as well as several different coloring activities kept the
children busy so everyone could get a picture. The lines were pretty
long and I salute the members of the Midwest Garrison who were
drenched in buckets of sweat literally.
I
got to opportunity to assist a couple as they went back for a
much-needed break. Poor Darth Vader looked like he could use a cold
one, it looks very glamorous but it really is work. I can honestly
say I didn’t expect so many people but I was there for a couple of
hours and it was very, very busy. I brought my own to help me survey
the situation and I even procured a couple of pieces and pointers
for my own armor that is under construction.
I look forward to the day if I am
accepted to serve. I was able to snap a few photos of the event, and
I’d strongly encourage you Troopers to visit your local branch of
the 501st and see what is going
on in your area. Until next time, United We Find Troopers.
