FCBD 2011: 4 COLOR FANTASIES (Rancho Cucamonga, CA)
My 1st Free Comic Book Day was at 4 Color Fantasies in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Chris the owner goes all out and closed out a section of the strip mall parking lot. Here he setup tents for comic book artists, face painting for kids, a bouncy houses, a grill for free hotdogs, a photo area with Marvel characters, and area booths for local fans groups. The 501st and Inland Empire Fan Force groups were present to promote their causes. Both will be at Star Wars Days at Paul A Biane library Rancho Cucamonga, CA on May 28th. I was pleasantly surprised to see that BOOM! Studios, kaboom, Semantink Publishing, and Forbidden Panel here with artists ready to sign and/or sketch for fans. IEFF had a fund raiser for Children’s’ Hospital of Orange County.

IEFF was able to bring out Bill and his Millennium Falcon 1974 Chevelle. He was kind enough to speak with me for a little to explain that the current paint scheme will undergo some rework. Most of the props like Han & Chewy cockpit, Vader’s TIE Fighter hood ornament, and radar dish on the hood will be kept. However the top side quad laser gun will be redesigned in the process. Bill claims that the new deco will be completed in May 28th, in time for the Star Wars Days. He and his son will be doing this undertaking and are really excited with this project. Thank you Bill for spending some time with us explain about your passion, we will be waiting to see how this project turns out. May the force be with him and his son as they rework the Millennium Falcon.

I like to thank Chris at 4 Color Fantasies for putting these festivities together for FCBD. I know I will be here next year to report and excited to see if he will out do himself in 2012. Until next time troopers, United We Find.
