Death Troopers Synopsis- When the Imperial prison barge Purge-temporary home to five hundred of the galaxy's most ruthless killers, rebels, scoundrels, and thieves-breaks down in a distant, uninhabited part of space, its only hope appears to lie with a Star Destroyer found drifting, derelict, and seemingly abandoned. But when a boarding party from the Purge is sent to scavenge for parts, only half of them come back-bringing with them a horrific disease so lethal that within hours nearly all aboard the Purge die in ways too hideous to imagine. And death is only the beginning.

The Purge's half-dozen survivors-two teenage brothers, a sadistic captain of the guards, a couple of rogue smugglers, and the chief medical officer, the lone woman on board-will do whatever it takes to stay alive. But nothing can prepare them for what lies waiting aboard the Star Destroyer amid its vast creaking emptiness that isnít really empty at all. For the dead are rising: soulless, unstoppable, and unspeakably hungry. About the Author - Joe Schreiber is the author of Chasing the Dead, Eat the Dark, and No Doors, No Windows. He was born in Michigan but spent his formative years in Alaska, Wyoming, and Northern California. He lives in central Pennsylvania with his wife, two young children, and several original Star Wars action figures.

On October 20, 2009 the local Indiana 501st Bloodfin Garrison and Rebel Legion's Mos Espa Base took part in a guest author book signing series held by Barnes and Noble bookstore. The author Joe Schreiber was there to promote his new book "Death Troopers" which is the first Star Wars horror genre story.

Joe talked about his book and even read a few passages from it. The audience in attendance seemed to be enveloped in the words that are written in the pages of this book. After that Joe took a few moments and answered questions from the audience. He even gave us a hint that next year in 2010 that there is another Star Wars horror genre book coming out. So fans of both Star Wars and Horror will be happy.

After that Joe took the time and signed his new book to anyone who wanted his signature.

Members of Bloodfin and Mos Espa Base walked around the store and surrounding area to help promote this new book "Death Troopers." Many fans were delighted to see several Star Wars characters, some even zombified.

Overall it was a great time to be had by all and many books were sold. It was an honor to help out such an outstanding author and many best wishes to him and all..
