CYCLONE WARS HITS THE MIDWEST
Can it be? Two rounds of derby for the price of one? Come watch your Warning Belles take on Ft. Wayne's SWAT team and your Tornado Sirens take on The Bomb Squad from The Fort Wayne Derby Girls in Fort Wayne, IN!

SPECIAL APPEARANCE BY: 501st and Rebel Legion!

Yes Star Wars fans it was a fun time had by both Imperials and Rebels who joined forces for an interesting evening of roller derby. There were Imperial Stormtroopers, Sandtroopers, Snowtroopers, a KiltTrooper, TIE Pilots, Rebel Fleet Troopers, Rebel Pilots, an R2-unit, the main man Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Obi-Wan, a female Imperial Pilot who belongs on a poster in your garage and a dirty Tusken or two showed up for the fun. Oh let's not forget our very own Jack Sparrow who is always a bit hit with the ladies. There were also little kids who came dressed up as their favorite Star Wars characters; there was a Stormtrooper who someday will be making his way into the Imperial Academy.

Before the events took place the national anthem was sung as both a Rebel and Imperial carried out the flag for our great nation.

All the troopers worked and trooped hard taking pictures with the fans, interacting with the crowds, arresting some for the "Jail and Bail", and just making the night of Cyclone Wars a blast! It was a real treat for all. Some of us even got to go out on the floor to support the team we were assigned to. You go girls!  This was really a stretch as far as our required participation, but it sure is fun to get out there and interact with the fans. Everyone recognizes Star Wars, that's for sure.

During halftime some pesky Rebels that turned on us took one of our Imperial Stormtroopers captive. They marched him out into the middle of the roller derby floor and had five yes five handpicked soon to be Rebels shoot at our Stormtrooper. Luck for him he only sustained a few minor blasts and a rear end wound, those Rebels cannot shoot worth the darn! Let me also say you wouldn't mess with the ladies either, they'd take you down!

It was a fun time had by all and a big thank you to the Naptown Roller Girls. The final scores of the night were... Belles win 119 - 66 Sirens win 78 - 70. To learn more about the Naptown Roller Girls please check out their site.
