BONUS COVERAGE
FROM BOBA BINKS
This morning I awoke at 3am to make the drive up to the Chicago area
to attend the Chicagoland Entertainment Expo. After about a 3.5 hour
journey I made it to the location of the Expo. I went inside the
hotel and I met up with Jim from Federation Toys. We talked a bit
while people were coming into the hotel to attend the Expo
Breakfast. While talking with Jim, Pat and his wife arrived and we
said hello. Chris and his family arrived as well. We all said our
hellos and went to the breakfast.
During the breakfast there were a few raffle drawings and
congratulations to Chris’s kids for winning the Force FX Luke
Skywalker Jedi Lightsaber. No the drawing was not rigged. After
breakfast Chris and I suited up in our Sandtrooper armor. I am still
working on dirtying up my armor but it is far enough along to where
I wanted to debut my Sandtrooper armor to show Chris and those who
would have shown up to the expo. As we came down to the expo area
and lobby we were approached and asked if we would be part of a Star
Wars wedding that was going to be at the hotel later that day. We
agreed.
Chris and I walked around the expo in armor until it was time for
the wedding. As the “Imperial March” started we marched into the
room and took our places as Darth Vader (the Groom) followed and
made his way up to the front. Then “Across the Stars” started to
play and the Bride made her way to the front. We stood there
flanking the Bride and Groom as they were wed. We lead the wedding
group out of the room and there was a newly wed couple.
Congratulations on your wedding. I have heard of Star Wars weddings
but this is the first that I have seen and now attended in one. It
was a wonderful experience.
After the wedding I talked with a fellow 501st member from the
Midwest Garrison. I like his modifications that he made to his TIE
Pilot outfit to make it a bit different and his own. Chris and I
walked around the expo for a little bit longer in armor. After we
changed we went to walk and enjoy the expo as fans. Chris had a nice
interview with Dean Mitchell. After the interview we got a few
autographs, hung out, and talked to people.

After the expo has closed down for
the day everyone involved with the expo all went out for dinner and
a get together. It was a good time just to mingle and talk, have
fun, network. During the day I met some new people and made some new
friends. I think the day went well and I had fun. Until the next
