There is a relatively new convention center that is hosting the Chicago International Toy and Game fair this weekend in Schaumburg, IL. While this is no Wizard World Comic Convention, this assignment was to provide support to the likes of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Cobra Commander and several other mascots. The theme of this event will bring many of us down memory lane. A long time ago, in what seems like a galaxy far, far away people used to actually play board games instead of video. Hasbro was on hand but only to promote Life, Scrabble and many of the classic we have all grown up with. After playing a very terrible game of Cosmic Catch with one of the reps and a few of the Troops, we decided to use our talents and man the doors. I took the time to walk around and even got to meet Chris Brisson from the Chicago Storm soccer team. Everyone knows I enjoy the company of people who like to kick! It was a great time out and I never thought I would be serious competition with Santa Claus but the line was quite longer for Darth Vader and his merry men! If you are a parent in the area I would strongly encourage bringing your children out as it will bring you back to a time when leisure time might have actually meant utilizing the mind much more!
