DAY 3: HAVING A BLAST
The Celebration weekend blasted off early Saturday morning, literally. I was informed by fellow Trooper TK118 that I’d was to be in position around the front door, as several 501st members were escorting a special guest. After spotting Darth Vader and a battalion of his finest Troops, we marched outside as they circled off a perimeter just outside the front door. Then just before the doors opened a Boba Fett flew in on a rocket pack out of the sky! The James Bond like pack was very loud, and not very movie accurate if I may add but to say everyone was a little bit awestruck would be a serious understatement.

After the doors opened, we ignored the melee that would take place at the Gentle Giant booth and headed for the Kotobukiya panel. After taking care of everything I wanted to purchase the last two days, our landing party set out to take in the sights and have a little fun. It was to be found in the fan exhibit hall as we built Lego Mindstorms at a booth that was called Anakin’s Workshop.

The most impressive area was the massive diorama Frank Niubniub was putting together next to the Ultimate Group project. The Endor forest was just starting to take shape and Frank was kind enough to take a minute and tell me how swamped he has been. I really have to take my cap off to him, the sacrifice he’s made at the past celebrations have been so amazing. After viewing the group project put together primarily by Yakface.com and JediDefender.com, I could only think about how big it could have been if other websites had joined them in their efforts. However, to say they didn’t put on a great exhibit would be a flat out lie! Afterwards, we headed off to the Sideshow Collectibles panel. We have quite a bit of time here left and we look forward to the rest of our time here. I have to say to all of you who opted out, you are really missing something special and a time that will never be forgotten. United We Find.
