DAY 2: THE SIEGE CONTINUES
After spending a night on Hollywood Boulevard with the Silva clan, I thought I’d seen it all. After taking in Grauman's Chinese Theatre the birthplace of Star Wars was quite an appropriate place to venture giving the nature of our trip. I have to really thank the Silva family for their time in showing team Sandtroopers some of the sights. The celebration continues as I took to the streets of LA early Friday morning. The line was nothing short of amazing as it wrapped nearly around the convention center.

Upon entering the building, it was nothing short of chaos as I honestly felt a bit of fear of my kids being trampled! I was able to catch Anthony Daniels delivering some commentary on the Sideshow C-3PO. However my jaw dropped when he nearly stopped towards the end of the interview. Mr. Daniels approached my oldest son and asked him “Don’t you speak English little boy”? Then he asked them to pose for a photo, why I do not know but I know my son was pretty high on the moment. We managed to snap several shots throughout the main exhibitor hall but it was time to have a little fun so we made way for Star Wars Lazer tag. To my surprise I bumped into NBA legend and Best Damn Sports show host John “Spider” Salley and my boys did their best to put it on Sal for the many times he’s dogged out my beloved Knicks on air! It was nothing short of incredible as I watched my youngest son give Salley the business with a blaster, I was truly proud as both my children were able to have moment they’ll never forget.

We took to the autograph room to have several signatures to our figures and first run Sandtrooper t-shirts. The actors were all a delight to talk to, and we really enjoyed the time with Daniel Logan, Mike Edmonds and many others we’ve gotten to know over the years. The costumes have been nothing short of amazing, but you get the feeling you’re not going to be able to see it all, but there’s plenty of time and fun yet to be had. United We Find.
